scenarios. Crafting an engaging and informative essay on this topic involves navigating through
a plethora of information while ensuring a coherent and logical flow.
Furthermore, addressing the potential concerns or criticisms surrounding essay tutoring is another
layer of complexity. An effective essay on this subject should not only highlight the positives but
also acknowledge potential drawbacks or misconceptions. This requires a thorough examination
of contrasting viewpoints, adding depth to the discussion.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Essay Tutoring" involves a multi-faceted challenge of

Biological Agent Essay
Following exposure, Biological agents may remain in the air and cause problems
after their release. This means that the virus could spread before we even know that it
has spread.
One very easy way of launching a biological attack is through the use of our aviation
transportation system. At airports such as the George Bush Intercontinental Airport
in Houston, Texas, the Miami International Airport in Miami, Florida, the Los
Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, California, and the John F. Kennedy
International Airport, in New York, which are gateways to every major city in the
United States, processed thousands of travelers every day. The terrorists called Bio

In this regard, the biological threat is greater than a nuclear one. Acquiring deadly
pathogens, and turning them into biological weapons by making them human
transmissible, has less technological issues than to steal or produce weapons grade
uranium or plutonium and assembling it into an improvised nuclear device.

Prevention Strategy
A one size fits all approach cannot be utilized when planning for any type incident
involving a widespread disease and planning for a bioterrorist attack using smallpox
is no exception. Each community is going to present its own unique, challenges,
resources and needs. All of these characteristics must be considered when planning
for an efficient and effective response to a bio attack involving smallpox.
(www.cdc.gov) The public health departments that are at the local and state level
should work with hospitals, clinics, public and private organizations, along with the
local community leaders and create a smallpox emergency response plan that
involves the community s participation that is integrated with state and federal plans.
Emergency response planning to terrorism in the past was about bombings and
chemical attacks. But those require a more sophisticated delivery system, and
terrorist groups are looking for a quieter strategy. Attacks involving biological agents
are more covert and unless we discover the plot and alert the population early,
Persuasive Speech On Racism In Schools
Imagine 10 20 years from now you are married to someone of color, with 2 Kids
that can be recognized as mixed. You pick them up from the bus stop and as they
walk towards you, the red puffy eyes lower as they had been crying. After asking
them what is wrong they describe to you that, kids and adults at school treat them
differently and wrongly because of the color of their skin. What would your reaction
be? What would you do to stop this? Although to many American people it may seem
that Racismis no longer prominent, it in fact it takes a huge toll physically and
mentally on children, and how they view the world, and because racial difference
causes violence almost everywhere, it creates an economic divider, and lowers self

Theme Of Heroism In Fallen Angels
The Medal of Honor is a very prestigious award to receive. The Medal of Honor is
the highest U.S. military decoration for heroism. In Fallen Angels by Walter Dean
Myers, heroism is shown vastly among the characters. Heroism is described as
great bravery. Perry, Peewee, and Lieutenant showed the most heroism in and off of
the field. Richard Perry was a young seventeen year old black boy from Harlem. He
did not have the money at go attend college so he decided to join the military. Perry
played basketball throughout his life which resulted in a knee injury, but that did
not stop him. On the way to Vietnam and at the beginning of his time there, Perry
did not expect the events that were about to happen. We spent another day lying
around. It seemed to be what the war was about. Hours of boredom, seconds of
terror. (Myers 132). Perry and the rest of the men in Vietnam were put into hard
positions and had to go through tough things. Perry had his friend, his leader, and
was put into the hospital twice. Jenkins was the first to die among Perry s friends.
After the death he was hurt, but had to continue of and fight for his country. His
lieutenant was the next of his close friends to die. Everyone was devastated about
the loss of their lieutenant. The war had barely began, everyone had to still fight
their hardest and not leave their guard down for anything. Many questions and
prayers were spoken throughout the time in Vietnam. I really wasn t pissed, because I

The Effect Of Water Ingestion Improved Haemodynamic...
4. Discussion
Previous studies found that water ingestion improved haemodynamic responses to
gravitational stress serving as therapeutic relief against hypotension that can be
debilitating for most patients. We hypothesized due to the fact that vitamin water is
hypotonic in nature like water then it is likely to illicit the OPR to fuel inadequate
sympathetic drive and help with symptoms like dizziness upon standing. However the
effect of 500ml of water and vitamin water from the current study did not entirely
agree with the effect of water seen in patients with baroreflex dysfunction or
autonomic failure patients from previous investigations. 500ml of vitamin water had
consistently shown a lack of significant difference in blood ... Show more content on

Our results showed a significant difference between 50 ml and 500ml of vitamin
water at baseline level in the normal order (n=10) of consumption. The crossover also
gave a significantly different systolic reading (n=8) between 50ml and 500ml of
water. This suggests that the average basal haemodynamic state for the pooled data
was different for different experimental runs highlighting haemodynamic variability.
4.1 Vitamin water composition
Dragonfruit Vitamin water contains predominately 160mg of vitamin Cper 500ml as
the main ingredient. There is evidence to show the benefit of vitamin C as
adjuvant therapy for the treatment of hypertension. Doses of vitamin C
supplements ranging between 60 400mg were shown to have a useful role in
lowering blood pressure (both SBP and DBP). The corresponding averages of SBP
and DBP were declining after the ingestion of 50ml of vitamin water amongst 10
participants in our pooled data (SBP: 1.40В±2.35mmHg, DBP:
0.10В±3.85mmHg). Likewise the same decrease in SBP was evident with 50ml of
water, which gave a decrease by 0.90В±4.17mmHg. It may be possible that vitamin
C content negated the OPR. Blood pressure changes are sensitive to ascorbic acid
levels until a certain threshold; the effect of vitamin C was lowered in trials where
the population had already taken supplements due to renal

Methods of Achieving Sustainability In this project suggests several ways to make
the system more sustainable. (Variable speed appliance for energy saving included
curtain pullers, trains themselves, automatic screen door, moving walkway, lift and

discussed with respect to their Efficiency of use and Conservation . These are
defined as follows:
пЃ¬Conservation: Changing policy and/or processes of the MTR system so that it
requires less energy to operate.
пЃ¬Efficiency of Use: Changing the nature of technologies within the MTR so that
they require less energy to operate. While both these approaches are valid ways of
increasing sustainability, it is important to tackle the problem of sustainability from
numerous angles. It can be assumed that developments will be made to achieve both

The Characters Of Douglas Stone And Lady Sannox Essay
The Characters of Douglas Stone and Lady Sannox in The Case of Lady Sannox
are of prime importance as Conan Doyle introduces them to the reader before
anything else. The exposition introduces the characters of Lady Sannox and
Douglas Stone describing the Notorious Lady Sannox (p1) in the first sentence of
the exposition indicating that this is an important statement that should provide
the foundations for the reader s interaction with her. Lady Sannox is presented to
the reader as a promiscuous woman who was gracious to most men who wooed
her and to whom Douglas Stone was not the only one (p2). Lady Sannox, who,
until she married Lord Sannox, had previously been just Miss Marion Dawes. In
this previous incarnation she was just an actress, a frivolous profession that was
often thought of as on a par with prostitutes. The affair between Lady Sannox and
Douglas Stone was very well known (p1) by their peers and there was not an
attempt on either side to conceal their relations (p2) showing that they were anything
but discreet about the liaison and hinting at a cruel streak to Lady Sannox nature,
continuing the affair, apparently unconcerned by the effect this may have on her
husband. There is an inference that Lady Sannox may have married more for
money and status than love as, the narrator remarks, when they wed she recieved his
hand, his title and the third of a county (p2) Douglas Stone is presented to the reader
as a remarkable man who was born to be
The Hard Boiled Private Eye
The hard boiled private eye is a mysterious protagonist who is a professional
investigator. With a first look at Oedipus Rex in Sophocles Oedipus the King and
Jake Gittes in Roman Polanski s Chinatown they seem to be very different from
each other. Jake Gittes is a busy detective that lets solving cases consume his life
and Odeipus Rex is a brand new King in the city of Thebes whose is cursed with a
fate that cannot be changed. After reading Oedipusthe King and watching Chinatown,
it s clear that both stories share similar characteristics such as corruption, lies and
even incest.
Oedipus the King is a tragedy by the ancient Greek playwright Sophocles, that
follows the story of King Oedipus of Thebes as he discovers that he has
unwittingly killed his own father, Laius, and married his own mother, Jocasta.
When Oedipus was a baby his parents were told by a prophet that the baby would
grow up to kill his father and marry his own mother. Oedipus mother and father sent
him away to be hanged by his ankles until death. Oedipus was later found and taken
to a queen and king in another kingdom where he would grow up thinking they
were his real parents. When Oedipus get older he gets told by a drunken man that
he is a bastard child and this sends him on a mission to find out the truth. Oedipus
goes to the bind prophet for answers and after threating the prophet s life he gets the
full truth. Oedipus learns that he is destined to kill his father and marry his mother,
so he decides
Protein Thermal Stability Essay
Proteins are amazing chemical polymers. They serve a myriad of functions such as
providing nutrition in the form of their constitutive amino acids as well as energy.
They serve as reactants and enzymes in chemical reactions. Proteins contribute to
the texture, viscosity and water holding capacity of foods that contain them.
Proteins can be toxins or allergens or hormones, and they serve as transporters for
vital molecules such as oxygen in the blood stream (Coultate 1984). These polymers
have evolved to play a role in very specific physiological functions and this chemical
reactivity can be used for very unique applications beyond a proteins evolutionary

They are used in infant formulas, flour, protein isolates, cheeses, drinks, tofu and
salami. Infant formulas made from soy proteins serve as an excellent alternative in
cases where milk allergies prevent the use of other types of formula. These proteins
are deficient in methionine, one of the essential amino acids required by man, and the
content of lysine is lower than that of casein, a protein found in milk. In addition to
nutritional value, studies have shown that soy protein may play a positive role in
several human health concerns such as lowering cholesterol, they have
anticarcinogenic effects, and they may help control conditions such as diabetes,
digestive tract irritation, and bone and kidney disease (Mendel and Brandon 2001).
Soy proteins in addition to beneficial properties also contain inhibitors for digestive
enzymes that prevent the complete utilization of the protein after consumption. The
nutritional quality of any substance is gauged not only by its content of amino acids
but also by its digestibility, absorption and utilization of those amino acids. The
enzymes inhibited include trypsin, chymotrypsin and пЃЎ amylase. These inhibitors
can be inactivated by heating, but even that process leaves 5 10% of the enzymes
active (Friedman and Brandon 2001).
Solubility is the most important property that soy proteins need to be
Importance Of Black Of Black Studies
Importance of Black Studies Over the course of the years that Black Studies has
been a separate functioning entity, there have been different ideological and
political reasons for why Black studies is needed in institutions of higher education.
Scholars such as Nathan Hare, John Henrik Clark, John W. Blassingame and
Devere E. Pentony have given their own varied rationales as to why they believe
Black Studies is a necessity within these institutions; if it is even one at all. Each of
these men have different opinions on this topic but they do share one similar
perspective. The historical importance of black peopleshould be taught and made a
fundamental component of Black Studies because in institutions of higher education,
where the populations are predominantly white, staying connected to the black
culture can be difficult. Getting educated about it enables students to stay connected
to their roots and use it to improve their future. Many black people grow up unaware
of who they are and where they come from because in the current education system
black people have been pushed to the side or spoken about very briefly. Students do
not understand the struggles of African Americanpeople, so therefore having courses
that educate them about the history of blacks, will spark understanding of black
people as a whole and there might be a change in black and even possibly white
communities. Within both of Nathan Hare s articles, he discusses his beliefs on what
Black Studies can
A Linguistic Term For Indo European And Indian History
ARYANS
Aryan is a linguistic term for Indo European (Robert Westad 2014a). The Aryans
brought to India no culture so advanced as that of Harappans (Robert Westad 2014a).
When the Aryans appear writing disappeared and does not come back until the
middle of the first millennium BCE. Cities were reinvented by the Aryans, which
lack the elaboration and order of the gridded pattern of Harappans (Robert Westad
2014a). When the Aryans migrated into the Indus Valley they brought with them a
culture that was very different from any other region (Breyer 2004). The invaders had
two contributions to Indian history; it s formal history and its social institutions
(Robert Westad 2014a). One of the biggest social institutions that the Aryans brought
to India was the unique social structure; in their system every class had a duty to
their society (Breyer 2004). Originally there were only three main classes or Varnas,
but this changed to fit the civilisation in which they controlled (Breyer 2004). As
religion and rituals were a major part of Indian life, it was only fitting that the
priests and scholars were the highest class (Beyer 2004). They were called the
Brahmans (Breyer 2004). Under the Brahmans were the ruling class or the
Kshatriyas; this also included nobles and warriors (Breyer 2004). The third class
was made up of the commoners they were called the Vaisyas. It was the fourth class
that the servants and peasants made up, called Sudras. It was later on where another

student. Although there was a great deal of work required for this course, the subject
is very important in today s health care industry. Disease prevention is the key. The
instructor was very interactive in the course and provided adequate feedback to the
students. The instructor was supportive and encouraged students along the way. One
recommendation for the course would be a revision of the syllabus. The syllabus
instructions were repetitive and sometimes even confusing. On some assignments,
there were conflicting due dates. There was a significant amount of highlighting in
different colors, which was distracting. The author preferred to highlight the parts she
needed and therefore printed the syllabus in black and white and used the colors

Communication Project Management Plan And
Communication Plan
Communication is one of the most complicated aspects of project management. There
are an infinite number of projects that has failed due to communication within the
project team and the project stakeholders. Communication plan, and stakeholder
management plan are one of the most important parts of project management. These
two plans are the key for the project to complete successfully. There have been many
organizations that do not implement or the stakeholder management plan and
communication plan for their project. During the project life cycle, there are various
departments such as information technology department (IT), human resources
department, procurement, finance, etc. that are part of the same projects. In fact,
sometimes there are also external organizations working on with the organization that
has a contract to complete the project. Therefore, important to establish a proper
communication plan, as well as stakeholder identification plan in order to complete
projects successfully. Not implementing or following these plans can create many
misunderstanding, confusions, or misinterpretation of data within the various teams
involved in the project. A study noted in InformationWeek showed that 30 40 percent
of IT managers complain about communications related data and information:
receiving too much, no one sharing, and trying to decide what is current or has been
previously received (Kliem, 2008).

A Personal Philosophy of Education
A personal philosophy of education serves to unify the experience of teaching for
the individual. It provides our students with a professional that understands the
context of learning from which their classroom stems. It also ensures a personal
sense of growth: a lifelong process valued by the profession as a whole. I have
combined beliefs from pedagogical, ethical and personally developed ideas I intend to
use as a foundation in creating a nurturing classroom environment. Educationcould be
defined ad infinitum, but for the purposes of synchronicity I have organized my
beliefs in terms of four elements: enculturation, potential, inspiration and
development. The meeting point of these ideas is the philosophical ideology of
existentialist education. As defined by Dr. V.K. Maheshwari (2011), the origin of
existentialism: rejects the existence of any source of objective, authoritative truth
about metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics. Instead, individuals are responsible for
determining for themselves what is true or false, right or wrong, beautiful or ugly.
For the existentialist, there exists no universal form of human nature; each of us has
the free will to develop as we see fit. The focus is entirely student centered, whereas
the teacher serves as a guide seeking to educate the whole person. The goal of such a
classroom is to develop a thoughtful, creative, self actualizing adult capable of rational
thought, effective communication and independent
The Reasons Why The Ottoman Empire Essay
The Byzantine empire had its start in 330 AD with Constantine moving the capital of
the Eastern Roman Empire/Byzantine Empire to Constantinople, present day
Istanbul. This created a capital in which nearly no one could fully siege control over
for centuries. This all changed on April 5,1453 when Sultan Mehmed II, ruler of the
Ottoman Empire, determined that he would defeat the Byzantine Empireand take
Constantinople, took action and marched to the city. After a 54 day siege, on
Tuesday, May 29,1453, Sultan Mehmed II and the Muslim Turks breached the
walls of the city and brought the last Roman empire crumbling to its knees. The
reasons why the Ottoman Empire was able to bring down what once was the
greatest empire in the world was due to a proper financial backing and assistance
from allies, greater number of troops, better technological advancements, the type
of leader Sultan Mehmed II was, and strategy. In 1451, Sultan Mehmed II, later
known as Mehmed the Conquerer, started his second reign of power of the
Ottoman Empire. From the very beginning, he declared it was his aim to take the
city of Constantinople, no matter what the cost. This was challenging due to the
ginormous layered walls surrounding the Byzantine peninsula. First, the city was
surrounded by a moat and a layer of wall, then a second or middle wall rising above
thirty feet with 96 towers, and then the third and biggest wall rising up to 40 feet
high and 15 feet thick [with] 96 towers each about 60
Causes Of Homegrown Terrorism
Even though it is called homegrown terrorism, terrorism does not only start within a
home. Although there have been events that lead to roots of what might have caused
the terrorism there is always evidence that contradicts itself. Some of these roots are
radicalization, religion, and multiculturalism. Every one of these roots has caused
terrorismthroughout decades which not only has the United Sates tried to stop, but
which we have come to conclude that it is something that we cannot control which
makes us believe there are other sources and roots of domestic terrorism. Terrorism
is not only on certain days or years; terrorism is an everyday fear.
American Jihad is an American story about a citizen who belonged to Al Qaeda
name Anwar Awlaki who terrorized Boston and Florida. Born in New Mexico, he had
a strong rapport with the American Muslim youths at his mosque, thanks to a fluid
use of the English language (not a given with Islamic religious leaders, even in the
U.S.) and his understanding of popular culture. (Lorraine, 2017) An Article by Los
Angeles Times identify religion, culture, and radical thoughts as key factors that
influence homegrown terrorism. The article describes him as acting like one of us
but knew how to manipulate the internet and social media, using it to disseminate his
videotaped teachings to a wider audience. Religion, culture, and radical thought not
only were one of his influences on initiating the attacks but another terrorist too. In an
European Expansion In The New World Essay
Impacts of European expansion reached across the world and affected more than
the expanding European powers and their colonies in the new world. Life in the
world changed when these two cultures that were directly opposite of one another
collided. Europe was filled with greed for resources and wealth, the Indigenous
people living on these resources were living a simple sustainable life with next to no
government or regulation. Once the new world was set up Europeans who ran these
new territories called colonists today developed their own society and way of living
and would end up revolting against the homeland. Indigenous people in the Americas

In the New World or the Americas as we know them today settlers of colonies or
colonists moved in at their respective locations and began living a new life in a New
World. Europeans tried to recreate Europein America they forced native people to
live their lives and created systems to exploit native people. Systems such as these
were implemented in the New World to assert the dominance of Europe and allow
the countries colonizing to take what they wanted. European expansion into the
New World brought a lot of changes, motivated by boosting trade and economy,
some countries failed to see the harm done in accomplishing it. It was the colliding
of two worlds that were not ready to meet that suddenly and abruptly. Without the
brave explorers and colonists however, America may have not been discovered, or
noticed for many years. The New World gave the Old World something and vice
versa it is obvious today one needs the other to survive and that is what we all strive

Leadership in gender equality in the workplace
The need for increased diversity and strong women leadership is an issue in today s
healthcare system. The need for gender equality in healthcare system and number of
women participating in medical field are recognized. Although women make up a
majority of the United States population (50.8 percent), gender leadership gap

Recent research shows that lack of confidence is a factor that holds women back
from having leadership positions. There is a self confidence gap between men and
women (Schuh et al., 2014). Whereas men are socialized to be confident, assertive,
and self promoting, cultural attitudes toward women as leaders continue to suggest to
women that it is often inappropriate or undesirable to possess those characteristics
(Enloe, 2004; Flammang, 1997).
Balancing family responsibilities and work is one of the most challenging
obstacles for women seeking leadership positions (Eagly Carli, 2007; Sandberg,
2013), and it can be especially daunting for the millions of working women raising
children on their own (Hess Kelly, 2015). Leadership roles are time consuming and
requires a responsible person, which is one of the reasons holding back women from
leadership roles.

dominant male figure, is a closed minded and egotistical individual who causes a
rift between himself and his family, for whom he has little concern in comparison to
his misguided hopes of saving the tribes of Ham, as well as his ultimate reason for
his mission: spreading God to so called sinners. Nathan not only physically alienates
himself, his four daughters, and his wife from the comfort of their prideful Southern
home by forcing them to accompany him on his year long mission to save the Congo,
but also emotionally alienates himself by personifying the stereotypical white
misogynistic male of the 1960s, which ultimately leads to the spiritual alienation of

Nathan claims that for the sinners to truly be reborn they must first be baptized,
just as Jesus said let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all
righteousness (Matthew 3.15). However, the tribe members refuse baptism, due to
the dangers lurking in the depths of its murky water. The author depicts Nathan s
selfish nature through his unwillingness to accept the tribe s simple request. To
illuminate how far Nathan is willing to go to spread his ideas of God, as well as
his overwhelming God complex, the author sacrifices Ruth May, Nathan s
youngest child. When told of her death, Nathan does not take responsibility for
what happens, but instead simply says she wasn t baptized yet, which stirs a new
filmy hatred in his children, particularly Leah, who had once seen reason behind
Nathan s trek to the Congo, but now sees the painful truth behind the journey.
Through her father s outlandish behavior, Leah discovers that Nathan not only
physically isolates her from the beauty of the world, but also spiritually binds her to
his own misconceptions of God. She [feels] the breath of God go cold on her skin as
she realizes her father s simplistic idea of God is the driving force of her and her
family s alienation, not the Congo or the individuals who reside there. As a result to
Nathan s behavior, his family loses faith in him and flees the Congo as a civil war
breaks loose, and he is left alone, and is eventually murdered for his
Termites Behavior Lab Report
After completing the lab The Effect Colors of Pen have on Termites Behavior it
could be identified that termites like black pens the most and prefer to follow an
ink line. In both trials the termites seemed to avoid the squares for the most part,
but when they got near one they would walk around the outside of the square. Out
of all the colors it was evident black was the preffered color because they spend 11
seconds inside that square 2 seconds in the blue, and 3 seconds in the red. While
this seems like a short period of time considering each trial was 2 minutes long the
termites spend a good majority of that time near the black square which we did not
put into our data table. If three squares are drawn in different colors, then the
termites will mostly stay in the red square, because it likely has the strongest scent.
This was the hypothesis made in the beginning of the experiment and it was rejected
based off the lab results. The termites defintely prefered the white portion of the
paper and also liked the black pen the most as they spent most of their time in the
white or walking around the black square. According to Joe Culin from Clemson
University this is because the pen s... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This ended up affecting the results because termites spent a majority of the time in
the white part of the paper. If the amount of white was closer to the size of the
colored squares then the termites likely would of spent more time in the colored
squares. Halfway through the experiment a termite died which was another large
source of error. This affected the experiment because the new termite behaved
differently then the one who died. A student in another biology class peformed a
similar experiment where they drew a red and black circle and found the termite
preffered the black circle. This helps validate the experiment we did, as the termites
were also attracted to the black
The Military Decision Making Process Essay
The Military Decision Making Process The Military Decision Making Process
(MDMP) is a decision making model to assist military members in making sound
military decisions and to compile operation orders. This paper will describe
MDMP and apply it to a recent job related decision of the author; preparation for a
combat logistics patrol (CLP) while deployed in Iraq. The paper will identify the
steps in the model and describe how critical thinking impacted the decision. The
Steps of the Military Decision Making Process Step 1: receipt of the mission. The
first step of the MDMP is to receive the mission from higher headquarters, usually in
the form of a written order (An artillerization of the military decision making process

Step 3: course of action (COA) development. The first step of formal COA
development is to review and update facts, assumptions, and forces available that
were identified during mission analysis. The second step is to generate conceptual
possibilities to support the [mission] (Artillerization, n.d., Step 3: Course of Action
Development section, В¶ 1). It is recommended that several COAs be developed
during this step. During this step the author would identify which type of
equipment was needed to support the CLP to ensure that C3 was available
amongst the members of the CLP and between the leadership of the CLP and
higher headquarters. Step 4: COA analysis. This step analyzes each of the COAs
developed in the previous step. The heart of COA analysis is the war gaming
process . . . . (Artillerization, n.d., Step 4: Course of Action Analysis section, В¶ 1).
During this step, staff members come up with possible scenarios that could take
place during the execution of the mission. The author s contribution to the war
gaming was what would happen if a piece of C3 equipment or capability were
rendered unusable due to either malfunction or enemy action. Step 5: COA
comparison. After war gaming all COAs, the staff now conducts COA comparison to
select the COA that best supports the mission and commander s intent (Artillerization,
n.d., Step 5: Course of Action Comparison section, В¶ 1). It is the responsibility of

The Microwave Oven Is More Than Just For Cooking Foods
Abstract. The microwave oven is much more than just for cooking foods. This

Essay On The Second Punic War
The Second Punic War
The Punic Wars were waged between Rome and Carthage, a city state founded on the
Gulf of Tunis by the Phoenicians in the 9th century BCE (United Nations
Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization, 2015). The name Punic Wars
comes from the fact that Rome was ultimately the victor and therefore, the recorders
of history. Punic is derived from the Latin Punicus, for an inhabitant of Carthage
(Merriam Webster, 2015). Carthage was a powerful economic and territorial rival of
Rome, with a strong presence in the Western Mediterranean. The Second Punic War

(218 201 BCE), began when the Carthaginians expanded into the Iberian Peninsula.

Ode To The Pineapple Essay
Seeking survival, hostile, hidden from sight, Deliciously flavoured juicy, sweet bite,
Exploding senses preparing to ignite, Inspiring to escape from the suffocating night.
This quote, taken from the poem Ode To The Pineapple, by Claudia Bakker,
summarizes Eloy BarragГЎn s piece, Pineapple, perfectly. His danceperformance
brought to life a comedic wedding scene depicted with a bride, groom, and three
female bystanders. The performers constructed an elegant ceremony, filled with
peculiar nuances, and phenomenal comedic timing. The piece setting illustrated a
nuptial, made clear to the audience with a bride dressed in white, vail included.
BarragГЎn, the choreographer, wanted to maintain the elegance of a conventional
wedding, by creating a traditional setting and formations, but also included many
quirky elements. The elegance spurred from the classical dance form, ballet. Lines
created by developpГ©s, fan kicks, and battlements, effortlessly presented the
technique and intricacy of this dance form. Double coupe turns also demonstrated the
strength maintained by the dancers while allowing their ease to flow through their

Specifically, two of the women extended their arms towards the ceiling, dropped their
arms exasperated, then made a sharp head movement behind their shoulder before
beginning a series of idiosyncratic movements, traveling to all ends of the stage. In
addition to this freneticism, the third female performer maintained a professionalism
to her expression and movement. When she joined the frenzied duet, she brought a
calmness to the now trio, with fluid arabesque turns and an extended migration to one

Review Of David M. Greenberg Et Al Divided People And...
Your Choice of Music Can Reveal Your Personality One s taste in music is at the
top of the list when it comes to topics that can cause a heater argument. Musical
preferences are sacred to most people and we tend to divide into small tribes over
music, considering the other tribes as less sophisticated. Interestingly, your music
choices are not a random grouping your tribe isn t determined by where your friends
go. Instead, your personality and the music you like are interlinked, both influencing
each other. Three thinking groups and their musical choices A 2015 study by David
M. Greenberg et al divided people s thinking into three separate thinking styles: the
empathizers, the systemizers and the balanced. Each thinking style tended to favor
different type of music, allowing the researchers to predict what music the person
likes simply by understanding their thinking style. Empathizers feel connected to
others, they have strong emotions and they base their decision making often on
emotional values. On the other hand, systemizers think more rationally. They are
calm and composed in their decision making. As you might suspect, the balanced
thinkers are a mixture of both these styles. First, the empathizers were shown to
prefer mellow music low energy, sad emotions and emotional depth. The people in
this group were therefore associating with genres such as soft rock, indie music and
R B. For the systemizers, this type of music wasn t appealing. They were looking for a
Benzocaine Synthesis Lab Report
Result and Discussion In this experiment, the synthesis of benzocaine was carried
out by acid catalyst and recrystallization process was utilized to purify the product
form impurities. The synthesis of Benzocaine was carried from 4 Amino benzoic
acid (PABA) and absolute ethanol with sulfuric acid as catalyst. The reaction took
place under reflux, and isolation of product was carried out by using saturated
Na2CO3 and dH2O. The characterization of the product involved the NMR and IR
spectrum analysis. Besides, the purity of the solid product was supported by melting
point determination. For the NMR spectrum analysis, all the peaks matched the
expected NMR result of pure benzocaine. There were triplet peaks at 1.149, 1.265,
and 1.385 ppm which... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The pure benzocaine was dried, weighed, and percent yield of the reaction was
calculated. Besides, the melting point of the white solid was also determined to
confirm the purity of the product. The melting point was turned out to be around
88 91В°C which was very close to the expected melting point (88 90В°C). One of
the problem in isolating and purifying the product was during the recrystallization
process. Since recrystallization reaction used to purify the product from
impurities, this resulted in low product yield. When the pure product was
crystallized and impurities were removed from the product, the weight of product
became lesser compared to the weight before recrystallization. The percent yield of
the reaction was 25.6 % which was a bit low, but this value was a reasonable yield
for recrystallization. The percent yield for recrystallization was usually a bit low
compared to reactions without recrystallization. The low percent yield of this
reaction showed matched with the expected low yield of recrystallization. Besides,
another problem occurred was during drying step of the crude benzocaine. The
vacuum was not strong enough to remove all the water, and made the product being
soaked and absorbed on the filter paper. This might contribute to the low yield of
Truth In The Giver
The book that I read for this summer was called The Giver . It is about a young,
eleven year old boy named Jonas who lives a life of not being told the whole truth.
As he turns a year older Jonas receives the responsibility of The Giver. When he goes
through his training he learns about the past, and with learning about the past comes
the truth. Through his whole life, Jonasand the people from the town which he lives,
have been sheltered from the truth. No one truly knows the full story, except for The
Giver. In this essay I am going to analyze the concept of truth to get a full
understanding of the book. What is truth in this book? The truth in the book The
Giver , is very complicated. Their version of truth is way different than what today s
idea of it is. All of the people think that they know the truth, but they are truly
deceived. They only know what the government allows them to know. Truth to them is

With Jonas s job as being The Giver, truth is a very important aspect. Being The
Giver, he learns about the real, and whole truth. The Giver is the one who keeps all
of the memories of truth. Without it there would be no reason to have a Giver.
Another way that the truth works in the role Jonas was given would be that if
Jonas leaves the community, all of the memories that he had received would be
then distributed to the people of the community. When The Giver and Jonas come
up with the idea that everyone not knowing the truth is wrong, they send Jonas
away so that everyone receives the memories. There are many ways in which the
truth works in the role that Jonas receives, such as when the Chief Elders ask The
Giver for advice when they are in times of trouble. Here is a great example of what I
mean, And when I am called to The Committee of Elders, I appear before them, to
give them counsel and advice (Lowry 130) The truth is used in many other ways in
Jonas s job as well, and these are only a

A study done by Dr. George Reeves (1942) showed that emotional states play an
important role in the quality of people s eating habits. He studies five obese white
women. Dr. Reeves concluded that (a) obesity was used at a defense mechanism
(b) these patterns were sadistic and masochistic (c) oral satisfaction extended
beyond social acceptable forms and (d) obesity was used to simulate a masculine
ideal. This study was limited because he had only five cases of women, and they
were all the same race and around the same age. Hirsch and Morse (1960) presented a
study to relate emotions to obesity and establish correlations between metabolic
findings from the obese patients in their study. They brought 74 patients to the
Victoria General Hospital Outpatient Obesity Clinic. The patients were given a
questionnaire that was oriented around their obesity history. The material from the
interview were reviewed for symptoms of emotional distress such as depression,
anxiety, delusions, etc. 27 of the 74 patients were judged to have a diagnosable
psychiatric disorder after the questionnaire was completed. This study however was
unreliable because there was no average weighted people to interview as a control,
also the people in the study were unprepared to think abstractly, so the physician
guided them throughout the questionnaire, which made the data unreliable. Collyer
(1974) backed Reeves (1942) conclusions that women may gain weight as a defense

request to evaluate your current Workbook Process and appraise the advantages as
well as the drawbacks to the system. We are not in favour of the current Workbook

reputation as Patagonia, Inc., needs to adopt a less sophisticated but progressive
system.

* Large proportion of employees refused to engage in the Process because they
found it tedious. * The plan was not accepted by all levels of management. * The
Workbook Process focuses mainly on planning in advance for the longer term
rather than on a day by day basis. * The Workbook Process had difficulty in
judging environment, quality and distribution objectives, which are crucial success
factors for Patagonia, Inc. * The Workbook Process is very complex and time
consuming. The level of planning and the enormous amount of meetings needed to
discuss company plans leaves very little time for constructive work to be done. *
The Process could be limiting in the sense that it does not promote innovations; if
anything it encourages people to just stick to a set plan and nothing else. * The
profit sharing plan that was introduced was not based on merit; it was just allocated
in equal percentages of the base salary.
On the contrary, the workbook process also has some benefits. Although, the
concerns outweigh the benefits, it is for your benefit and to give you a better
perspective of the Process.
BENEFITS OF THE WORKBOOK PROCESS * The Workbook Process has been
significantly embraced amongst the employees at Patagonia, Inc. * A significant
amount of the employees feel that the Process is worthwhile and that it has given
everyone an opportunity to bond; and also optimized better solutions for the
company. *
Malal We Must Tell Girls Their Voices
Malala:
We must tell girls their voices are important. This quote was spoken by a seventeen
year old girl named Malala Yousafzai. Malala was born on July 12, 1997 in
Mingora, the largest city in the Swat Valley in Pakistan. When Malala was ten, the
Taliban began to take control over the Swat Valley. The girls were banned from
going to school and most cultural activities were prohibited. Suicide attacks happened
all over the city and the Talibanused proper education for girls, the main focus of
their terror campaign. By the time Malala was eleven, the taliban had destroyed
around 400 schools.
Since this moment, Malala stood up to the Taliban on many occasions. Alongside
her father, she quickly became a critic of their tactics. How dare the Taliban take
away my basic right to education? she once said on Pakistani TV. Malala continued
to use the media for her public campaign for her right to go to school. Due to her
voice becoming louder, Malala became known to the Taliban and on the morning of
October 9, 2012, Malala was shot by the Taliban on her way home from school.
Seated on a bus heading home from school, Malala was talking with her friends
about schoolwork. Two members of the Taliban stopped the bus. A young bearded
Talib asked for Malala by name, and fired three shots at her. One of the bullets
entered and exited her head and lodged in her shoulder. Malala was seriously
wounded. That same day, she was airlifted to a Pakistani military hospital in Peshawar

Corporate Culture in South Korea
The Corporate Culture in South Korea
Business in the XXI century is becoming more and more global, international; we
find new partners in various, sometimes very exotic parts of the world. It is all
possible thanks to the common language (assuming that everybody knows English),
good and fast transportation and new ways of communication, like for example
Internet. We are learning from each other and trying to adjust to new situations,
although the differences are often much greater than just a language or a skin color. It
gets harder when not only two different countries, but two different civilizations

To make a good first impression it is good to learn few words in Korean, like Good
afternoon, how was your flight? etc. It is usually hard, but it is also a nice surprise
for them and it makes them as happy as when any foreign takes the challenge and
tries to say something in Polish. I would suggest though consulting our Korean
expression with someone who actually knows Korean first to make sure our guests
will understand us and what is more important to avoid offending them or any other
awkward situation.
In contacts with Koreans we should rather use simple English, at least at the
beginning when we don t know how well they now it. It is better when we speak
slowly and clearly, using the basic vocabulary. For some Koreans admitting they can
not understand what we are saying would be very embarrassing. When it comes to
English language Korean situation is similar to Polish one. Everybody in Korea
learns English, but at the end they know it rather poorly and they don t like to use it.
Even if someone speaks it fluently, often happens that one has very strange accent
which is extremely hard for us to understand. That is because Korean has completely
different grammar and pronunciation. The safest solution to the language problem is
employing a translator.
Business clothing is no different then in Poland. Men should wear a traditional, dark

my artifact. So, he represents to me hard work, responsibility, friendship, and loyalty.

I have been raising Roscoe since he was a puppy and I realized that there isn t much
of a difference between the two. They both rely on you to feed them, clean up after
them, and love them, they also whine and have accidents. However, a human child
will grow up, and be able to take care of themselves while a dog will always rely on
you. That is a lot of responsibility that, unfortunately, not a lot of people can handle,
which leads to neglect, however, that is a different essay. I wasn t a very good dog
trainer when I got Roscoe, so I didn t house train him correctly and I barely was
able to teach him to sit. However, I always fed him twice a day, tried to give him
daily walks, and cleaned up the yard after him. Having a dog has taught me to be
responsible which gives Roscoe that much more sentimental value. He is not just
valued by my found sense of responsibility, he Is also my best
Argumentative Essay On Fat Burner
FAT BURNERS: Who to use, When to use, Which to use, and How to use.
The relationship between fat and the average person is a hate hate relationship that
we sadly have not been able to permanently come out from. Like one minute you
are all agile working out eating healthy all to get a flat tummy non jiggly body and
we are excited then it s thanksgiving, Christmas, grandma s 90th and we are just
celebrating and enjoying all the food till your friends suggest going to the beach or
pool and you try on your swimsuit and just like that there is drooping everywhere
and obviously there is never drooping without the jiggles and there you are having a
panic attack obviously beach is cancelled but you realize your bestie s wedding is in
a few weeks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now with that being said the best fat burner is totally dependent on the user and their
reaction to the ingredients as well as the amount of weight they want to lose. So
these are things you should take into consideration before buying that highly
publicised fat burner because sometimes depending on how much weight you want to
lose about 4 5 cups of green tea can solve the problem and yea I am talking about
just regular green tea nothing fancy because green tea extracts is one major
ingredient found in all fat burners but if you are a bit heavier and want to lose more
weight in a shorter time frame then I suggest you keep reading to find out which fat
burner to buy. There are so many ingredients that are being used by various fat burner
producers but there are constants and these constants would be discussed as they are
mostly the main and active ingredients in any fat burner pill. Here are your major
ingredients:
Caffeine
Green tea extracts(EGCG)
Synephrine
Yohimbine
Raspberry Ketone
Capsicum
L Tyrosine
Glucomannan
Cissus Quadrangularis
Green Coffee Bean Extract
Caffeine
This is almost a staple in every fat burner pill, now this doesn t mean you should
begin downing endless cups of coffee because your body would only get tolerant
which means you would need to up your dosage and remembering that caffeine is a
psychoactive stimulant which can get you substance dependent it is advised to go
easy on it. Sorry for drifting off, now back to caffeine
NIOSH Publication Summary
Critical Review of NIOSH Publication
Taylor Schwartzer
Columbia Southern University
Abstract
Material handling can be a safe and continuous when the right plans are in place. In
this article, we will be discussing engineering and administrative improvements,
proactive plans, and some of the options to go with improvements to material
handling when it comes to ergonomics. This atrial will also specifically summarize
the following information from the NIOSH publication No. 2007 191 Manual
Material Handling.
Engineering and Administrative Improvements
When it comes to ergonomics, engineering is the best tool to use. The company can
use many different resources that can help them to eliminate the stresses causing
MSDs (musculoskeletal Disorders). The NIOSH article publication Manual Material
Handling (Ergonomic guidelines for manual material handling (DHHS [NIOSH]
Publication No. 2007 191) gives some great example for engineering control of
ergonomics when it comes to the work place. Examples from the article include
rearranging, modifying, redesigning, providing or replacement tools, and equipment
to name a few (NIOSH ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From reading the NIOSH publication given, the material can be applied to any
type of work you are doing. I like the fact it gave me ideas and those ideas can be
applied to what we do daily. When reading through Appendix A, B, C, D, and E, I
got excited to see the resources that were given to help in aiding with ergonomics. I
know these resources will be getting used by me in the future of my career in safety.
My opinion on this article is... it can be a useful tool and a reliable resource when
it comes to being proactive when dealing with ergonomics. I really enjoyed reading
it through and learning from it. I can say it is safe to say the article very agreeable
and a useful tool when applying it to your workplace and to use for
Characteristics Of Bull Sharks
Great White sharks are known all around the world for their humongous size and
ferocious teeth, but in the coastal waters of Crystal River there is another predator
that might be smaller in size, but is just as dangerous. Bull sharks, though not the
largest species of shark, are known for being the most aggressive and most likely to
attack a human. It is because these and many other terrifying characteristics that
many experts consider the Bull sharkto be one of the most dangerous sharks in the
world, (http://animals.nationalgeographic.com/). Bull sharks, like almost any other
type of shark, are known for living in salt water, but part of what makes them such a
threat to humans is the fact that they can be found in brackish or even freshwater
as well. What is even more terrifying is that fact that they have been found as far
inland as rivers and tributaries similar to our own King s Bay and Crystal River.
They also can be found in shallow, warm water. While this includes all of the world s
oceans, it also gives more evidence to the fact that Bull sharks could possibly be
stalking the very waters our town is known for. (http://www.nmfs.noaa.gov/sharks
/FS_bullshark.htm)... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their noses are known for being short and blunt, giving them extreme similarities to
that of a bull, considering a bull s face is known for looking the same way. When you
see Mexican and Spanish bullfighting, the bull always runs head first into the human
that is antagonizing them. This is another way that a Bull shark is similar to a bull,
because they also are known to head butt their prey before attacking, this aggressive
type of behavior helps bring even more light on why this animal was named after a
bull.
Wind Power Puffery
Summary of Wind Power Puffery by H. Sterling Burnett
Many believe that wind power is the best solution to this world s problem it helps fuel
infrastructures without causing air pollution and reduces greenhouse gas emission
(Burnett 247). However, H. Sterling Burnett, author of the article Wind Power
Puffery , suggests differently when he states, No, the truth is wind power s
environmental benefits are usually overstated, while its significant environmental
harms are often ignored (247). Burnett implies there are problems that come
attached to wind power; the main one being wind towers only generate power
within a certain range of wind speed. He adds that wind towers being shut off due to
wind speeds results in fossil fuel powered stations
Nonverbal Communication Skills
Nonverbal listening and communication skills are a very important part of daily
interactions, and the exercise I m reporting on demonstrates the many reasons why in
a practical and effective manner. The exercise required me to have a one on one
conversation with an individual whom I am comfortable with, and whom I am less
comfortable with. During these conversations I made use of active listening while
taking mental notes I can analyze subsequently after ending both interactions.
Additionally, I intended for each conversation to last for at least fifteen minutes. The
ultimate objective of this exercise is to identify my weak points and constructively
improve myself in anticipation of further interactions. My brothers are the two
individuals who, unknowingly, assisted me in gathering the appropriate material and
feedback for this assignment. The conversations that I had with them have been able
to help me identify the nonverbal communicationskills I did not know I have, and
recognize what I need to do to improve.
My first partner in conversation is someone who easily makes me feel comfortable,
my younger brother. Since the both of us are comfortable together, the conversation
was able to exceed my goal of fifteen minutes. I also made sure that the conversation
was something that we both enjoyed, which pertained to various topics of art. During
our conversation I noticed that we both we were mostly maintaining a friendly
amount of eye contact, which ranges of holds from five

Snowmaking Research Paper
Snowmaking is known as the production of snow by forcing water and pressurized
air through a snow machine, such as a snow gun or a snow cannon, on a mountain.
However big and complex a ski resort every component depends upon one basic
element for its overall function and livelihood of operation. Snowmaking, it is most
generally used at skiresorts to supplement the natural snowthat has fallen. Using the
process of snowmaking allows ski resorts to improve the reliability of their snow
cover on the mountain and the ability to extend their ski seasons. Indoor ski slopes,
which have just recently began to gain popularity, often use snowmaking all year

Lead by Dr. Ray Ringer the researchers in an effort to reproduce natural conditions
for their experiment they were spraying water into the air just before the engine
intake in a wind tunnel. The researchers did not create rime ice like they expected,
but they did make snow. They had to regularly shut down the experiment and the
wind tunnel to shovel out the snow Uninterested in inventing a snowmaking
machine, no patents were filed by the laboratory researchers. The research
published in scientific journals, was made prior to any other claim to snowmaking
technology (Making Snow). However the true deliberate invention of snow
making occurred in 1950 by three men whom owned a ski manufacturing business.
The three men, Wayne pierce, Art Hunt, and Dave Richey, had a hard year due to a
dry winter. From the affect of this they decided that they could make snow and
solve their dependency on nature. At first they used a paint spray compressor, a
nozzle, and a garden hose they created a snow machine. The men ended up ricking
a basic process patent in April 1954. They installed a few of their machines but
then sold out to a company of the Emhart Corporation. Then more companies saw
the potential of snow making and tried to create more snow machines in many
different ways. In 1958, a man named Alden Hanson filed for a patent for a new
type of snow making machine. Hanson had created the fan snow maker. He was
granted the patent in 1961, he is considered the pioneer patent for all fan
snowmaking machines. He had also created a ski boot and also worked with Lange

Persuasive Essay On The First Flight
When Miguel appeared at the flight school where I was an instructor, there was no
indication of the relationship we would develop or of the adventures to come. I
would have laughed at anyone crazy enough to suggest that within a year he and I
would pilot a single engine plane from Phoenix, Arizona to Santiago, Chile. No
one could have predicted that along the way a woman in a remote village would
try to give us her baby or that we would find ourselves buzzing an airstrip to chase
away festival celebrants so we could land. The school offered a lesson called An
Intro Flight. Even though it wasn t really a lesson, the school advertised it as such
and offered it at a discount. The owners were hoping to entice people who d never
been up in a small plane to try the experience. Of course, the reason behind the
lesson was the belief that after the flight, people would fall in love with flying and
sign up for a series of lessons. The promotion was a joke. Earning a private pilot s
license involves 40 or more hours of flight time, qualifying grades on written
examinations, and passing a practical application test known as a check ride. There
is also an oral exam. Oh, and the cost exceeds $5,000. With one exception, people
attracted by the $35.00 lesson never signed up for another at full price; so they
certainly wouldn t commit to the additional time, effort, and expense of earning a
certificate. Unlike most schools, filled with teenagers dreaming of growing up to be
Pauline Greig s Life And Life
Pauline Greig was born in 1934 to a Protestant family. She grew up with 5 siblings
in Cygnet, Tasmania and married Robert Greig in 1960 when she was 26. I was
first introduced to Pauline by my mum. In 2011, working as a nurse, she treated
her husband Robert in hospital as he was recovering from surgery. Pauline was
staying with Robert in his recovery room when she noticed the necklace my mum
was wearing around her neck. It had the little infant Jesus on one side and Mary on
the other. They then discovered and connected with each other through our shared
faith, Catholicism. When we moved to our new house in Macgregor we began
attending Mass at St Johns in Kippax and we would say hello to them after mass

Further endeavours sparked by Vatican II enhanced ecumenical cooperation

that there was still a chance to expand on the responses for closed questions if need

to questions about life and spirituality in today s society. I did this in order to ensure
the interview flowed well and so that we weren t jumping back and forth from one
period of time to another. Results / Discussion As a young Protestant, Pauline went

Persuasive Essay On Online Education
Having finished my vocational training through a local community college,
adjusting to my new job, and having a surplus of free time on my hands, I decided
to continue my education. So many options were available, but not all of them
were viable. Working shift work in the high stress environment of pre hospital
emergency medicine left me with an odd schedule that did not line up well with
attending traditional universities. As I began to explore my options, the idea of
earning an online degree seemed the most likely path to follow. I was skeptical at
first, because I did not hold online learning in a high regard. I began to navigate my
reasoning for these ideas, as I did not entirely understand why I thought this. As I
began to research online degree opportunities and speak with others regarding my
future goals, I realized that others were skeptical about online learning as well. Some
did not think that they had the drive to independently study adequately in an online
setting. Others viewed online universities as scams, and told me that I would just be
wasting my money. After doing some independent research on the topic and testing
the waters myself by enrolling at Northwestern State University, I have concluded
that online learning can be quite effective. There is a reasonable stigma that exists
towards online degree programs, however online learning can effectively educate
future students and prepare them for what lies ahead. Many of my peers that I have
spoken to about

The Second Treatise Of Government
In the Second Treatise of Government, Locke explains human beings right of private
property as a natural, enforceable right that men are granted with in the state of
Nature as part of his larger justification of the replacement of the state of Nature by
civil governments. The basis of Locke s interpretation of such right comes from God
s ownershipof what God creates, including both human beings and worldly
resources. While human beings ownerships of their bodies are granted directly
through God, Locke laid out 3 main conditions to be sufficed in order to justify
private appropriations of worldly resources. This paper will examine Locke s
premises regarding the state of Nature and his explanations of these conditions,
compare them with Rousseau s version of requirements for private holdings in The
Social Contract, and at the same time discuss whether each condition for private
appropriation is sufficient in his effort of justifying unlimited properties.
To begin with, Locke believes that at the state of nature, human beings are given the
right of properties, and private appropriations can occur as long as they fulfill three
main criteria. Such assumption allows Locke to discuss private properties without
the interference of other parties, including civil governments. According to Locke,
human beings and their private properties are protected by nature as God s will to
expect human beings to thrive and to develop, also driven by human beings natural
rights of living and
The Walking Dead Essay In The Walking Dead
The Walking Dead Essay
Imagine waking up to the zombie apocalypse. How d you feel? Would you be
scared, thrilled, confused, shocked? A mixture of them all perhaps? What would you
do? Would you hide? Would you fight back? Would you even survive?
One might not have the answers to such questions ready at hand. Most people have
probably never thought about it. But if you stood in a situation, where your life was
at risk and everyone you loved dearly might die, how d you react and how d you feel?
In The Walking Dead, all the characters have gone through exactly this. They ve all
experienced the shock, loss, confusion, despair, hopelessness, etc. They can all relate
to these feelings and thoughts, which makes them all connected in some degree. In
episode one of The Walking Dead, Rick represents humanity how every surviving
human felt at the beginning, their thoughts and feelings, and what they needed to
become to survive. Basically, he represents the overall character development of
every person in TWD:
At the beginning, Rick is very confused. He doesn t know what s going on, and is
horrified when he discovers the truth of what happened to the world. His immediate
thought is to run home to see if his family is okay, in which he discovers that they re
not there. Up till then, he s been so confused ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The most important symbol in TWD is the zombies. The zombies, in episode one,
represents an always existing threat. No matter how safe one might feel, the
zombies always lurks out there, and the characters in TWD knows they can t escape
them, no matter how hard they try. Whether the zombies have a big symbolic
meaning, cannot be determined from the first episode. Objects such as guns
symbolises safety, as the characters feel very safe when they have a gun, because of
the fact they ll die if you shoot them in the

  • 4. Biological Agent Essay Following exposure, Biological agents may remain in the air and cause problems after their release. This means that the virus could spread before we even know that it has spread. One very easy way of launching a biological attack is through the use of our aviation transportation system. At airports such as the George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas, the Miami International Airport in Miami, Florida, the Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, California, and the John F. Kennedy International Airport, in New York, which are gateways to every major city in the United States, processed thousands of travelers every day. In this regard, the biological threat is greater than a nuclear one. Acquiring deadly pathogens, and turning them into biological weapons by making them human transmissible, has less technological issues than to steal or produce weapons grade uranium or plutonium and assembling it into an improvised nuclear device. (Vicinanzo, 2015) Prevention Strategy A one size fits all approach cannot be utilized when planning for any type incident involving a widespread disease and planning for a bioterrorist attack using smallpox is no exception. Each community is going to present its own unique, challenges, resources and needs. All of these characteristics must be considered when planning for an efficient and effective response to a bio attack involving smallpox. (www.cdc.gov) The public health departments that are at the local and state level should work with hospitals, clinics, public and private organizations, along with the local community leaders and create a smallpox emergency response plan that involves the community s participation that is integrated with state and federal plans. Emergency response planning to terrorism in the past was about bombings and chemical attacks. But those require a more sophisticated delivery system, and terrorist groups are looking for a quieter strategy. Attacks involving biological agents are more covert and unless we discover the plot and alert the population early,

After asking them what is wrong they describe to you that, kids and adults at school treat them differently and wrongly because of the color of their skin. What would your reaction be? What would you do to stop this? • 6. Theme Of Heroism In Fallen Angels The Medal of Honor is a very prestigious award to receive. The Medal of Honor is the highest U.S. military decoration for heroism. In Fallen Angels by Walter Dean Myers, heroism is shown vastly among the characters. Heroism is described as great bravery. Perry, Peewee, and Lieutenant showed the most heroism in and off of the field. Richard Perry was a young seventeen year old black boy from Harlem. He did not have the money at go attend college so he decided to join the military. Perry played basketball throughout his life which resulted in a knee injury, but that did not stop him. On the way to Vietnam and at the beginning of his time there, Perry did not expect the events that were about to happen. We spent another day lying around. It seemed to be what the war was about. Hours of boredom, seconds of terror. (Myers 132). Perry and the rest of the men in Vietnam were put into hard positions and had to go through tough things. Perry had his friend, his leader, and was put into the hospital twice. Jenkins was the first to die among Perry s friends. After the death he was hurt, but had to continue of and fight for his country. His lieutenant was the next of his close friends to die. Everyone was devastated about the loss of their lieutenant. The war had barely began, everyone had to still fight their hardest and not leave their guard down for anything. Many questions and prayers were spoken throughout the time in Vietnam. I really wasn t pissed, because I knew the real
  • 7. The Effect Of Water Ingestion Improved Haemodynamic... 4. Discussion Previous studies found that water ingestion improved haemodynamic responses to gravitational stress serving as therapeutic relief against hypotension that can be debilitating for most patients. We hypothesized due to the fact that vitamin water is hypotonic in nature like water then it is likely to illicit the OPR to fuel inadequate sympathetic drive and help with symptoms like dizziness upon standing. However the effect of 500ml of water and vitamin water from the current study did not entirely agree with the effect of water seen in patients with baroreflex dysfunction or autonomic failure patients from previous investigations. 500ml of vitamin water had consistently shown a lack of significant difference in blood ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Our results showed a significant difference between 50 ml and 500ml of vitamin water at baseline level in the normal order (n=10) of consumption. The crossover also gave a significantly different systolic reading (n=8) between 50ml and 500ml of water. This suggests that the average basal haemodynamic state for the pooled data was different for different experimental runs highlighting haemodynamic variability. 4.1 Vitamin water composition Dragonfruit Vitamin water contains predominately 160mg of vitamin Cper 500ml as the main ingredient. There is evidence to show the benefit of vitamin C as adjuvant therapy for the treatment of hypertension. Doses of vitamin C supplements ranging between 60 400mg were shown to have a useful role in lowering blood pressure (both SBP and DBP). The corresponding averages of SBP and DBP were declining after the ingestion of 50ml of vitamin water amongst 10 participants in our pooled data (SBP: 1.40В±2.35mmHg, DBP: 0.10В±3.85mmHg). Likewise the same decrease in SBP was evident with 50ml of water, which gave a decrease by 0.90В±4.17mmHg. It may be possible that vitamin C content negated the OPR. Blood pressure changes are sensitive to ascorbic acid levels until a certain threshold; the effect of vitamin C was lowered in trials where the population had already taken supplements due to renal

  • 10. The Characters Of Douglas Stone And Lady Sannox Essay The Characters of Douglas Stone and Lady Sannox in The Case of Lady Sannox are of prime importance as Conan Doyle introduces them to the reader before anything else. The exposition introduces the characters of Lady Sannox and Douglas Stone describing the Notorious Lady Sannox (p1) in the first sentence of the exposition indicating that this is an important statement that should provide the foundations for the reader s interaction with her. Lady Sannox is presented to the reader as a promiscuous woman who was gracious to most men who wooed her and to whom Douglas Stone was not the only one (p2). Lady Sannox, who, until she married Lord Sannox, had previously been just Miss Marion Dawes. In this previous incarnation she was just an actress, a frivolous profession that was often thought of as on a par with prostitutes. The affair between Lady Sannox and Douglas Stone was very well known (p1) by their peers and there was not an attempt on either side to conceal their relations (p2) showing that they were anything but discreet about the liaison and hinting at a cruel streak to Lady Sannox nature, continuing the affair, apparently unconcerned by the effect this may have on her husband. There is an inference that Lady Sannox may have married more for money and status than love as, the narrator remarks, when they wed she recieved his hand, his title and the third of a county (p2) Douglas Stone is presented to the reader as a remarkable man who was born to be

With a first look at Oedipus Rex in Sophocles Oedipus the King and Jake Gittes in Roman Polanski s Chinatown they seem to be very different from each other. Jake Gittes is a busy detective that lets solving cases consume his life and Odeipus Rex is a brand new King in the city of Thebes whose is cursed with a fate that cannot be changed. After reading Oedipusthe King and watching Chinatown, it s clear that both stories share similar characteristics such as corruption, lies and even incest. Oedipus the King is a tragedy by the ancient Greek playwright Sophocles, that follows the story of King Oedipus of Thebes as he discovers that he has unwittingly killed his own father, Laius, and married his own mother, Jocasta. • 12. Protein Thermal Stability Essay Proteins are amazing chemical polymers. They serve a myriad of functions such as providing nutrition in the form of their constitutive amino acids as well as energy. They serve as reactants and enzymes in chemical reactions. Proteins contribute to the texture, viscosity and water holding capacity of foods that contain them. Proteins can be toxins or allergens or hormones, and they serve as transporters for vital molecules such as oxygen in the blood stream (Coultate 1984). These polymers have evolved to play a role in very specific physiological functions and this chemical reactivity can be used for very unique applications beyond a proteins evolutionary scope. They are used in infant formulas, flour, protein isolates, cheeses, drinks, tofu and salami. Infant formulas made from soy proteins serve as an excellent alternative in cases where milk allergies prevent the use of other types of formula. These proteins are deficient in methionine, one of the essential amino acids required by man, and the content of lysine is lower than that of casein, a protein found in milk. In addition to nutritional value, studies have shown that soy protein may play a positive role in several human health concerns such as lowering cholesterol, they have anticarcinogenic effects, and they may help control conditions such as diabetes, digestive tract irritation, and bone and kidney disease (Mendel and Brandon 2001). Soy proteins in addition to beneficial properties also contain inhibitors for digestive enzymes that prevent the complete utilization of the protein after consumption. The nutritional quality of any substance is gauged not only by its content of amino acids but also by its digestibility, absorption and utilization of those amino acids. The enzymes inhibited include trypsin, chymotrypsin and пЃЎ amylase. These inhibitors can be inactivated by heating, but even that process leaves 5 10% of the enzymes active (Friedman and Brandon 2001). • 13. Importance Of Black Of Black Studies Importance of Black Studies Over the course of the years that Black Studies has been a separate functioning entity, there have been different ideological and political reasons for why Black studies is needed in institutions of higher education. Scholars such as Nathan Hare, John Henrik Clark, John W. Blassingame and Devere E. Pentony have given their own varied rationales as to why they believe Black Studies is a necessity within these institutions; if it is even one at all. Each of these men have different opinions on this topic but they do share one similar perspective. The historical importance of black peopleshould be taught and made a fundamental component of Black Studies because in institutions of higher education, where the populations are predominantly white, staying connected to the black culture can be difficult. Getting educated about it enables students to stay connected to their roots and use it to improve their future. Many black people grow up unaware of who they are and where they come from because in the current education system black people have been pushed to the side or spoken about very briefly. Students do not understand the struggles of African Americanpeople, so therefore having courses that educate them about the history of blacks, will spark understanding of black people as a whole and there might be a change in black and even possibly white communities. Within both of Nathan Hare s articles, he discusses his beliefs on what Black Studies can
  • 14. A Linguistic Term For Indo European And Indian History ARYANS Aryan is a linguistic term for Indo European (Robert Westad 2014a). The Aryans brought to India no culture so advanced as that of Harappans (Robert Westad 2014a). When the Aryans appear writing disappeared and does not come back until the middle of the first millennium BCE. Cities were reinvented by the Aryans, which lack the elaboration and order of the gridded pattern of Harappans (Robert Westad 2014a). When the Aryans migrated into the Indus Valley they brought with them a culture that was very different from any other region (Breyer 2004). The invaders had two contributions to Indian history; it s formal history and its social institutions (Robert Westad 2014a). One of the biggest social institutions that the Aryans brought to India was the unique social structure; in their system every class had a duty to their society (Breyer 2004). Originally there were only three main classes or Varnas, but this changed to fit the civilisation in which they controlled (Breyer 2004). As religion and rituals were a major part of Indian life, it was only fitting that the priests and scholars were the highest class (Beyer 2004). They were called the Brahmans (Breyer 2004). Under the Brahmans were the ruling class or the Kshatriyas; this also included nobles and warriors (Breyer 2004). The third class was made up of the commoners they were called the Vaisyas. It was the fourth class that the servants and peasants made up, called Sudras. It was later on where another

Although there was a great deal of work required for this course, the subject is very important in today s health care industry. Disease prevention is the key. The instructor was very interactive in the course and provided adequate feedback to the students. The instructor was supportive and encouraged students along the way. One recommendation for the course would be a revision of the syllabus. The syllabus instructions were repetitive and sometimes even confusing. On some assignments, there were conflicting due dates. There was a significant amount of highlighting in different colors, which was distracting. The author preferred to highlight the parts she needed and therefore printed the syllabus in black and white and used the colors appropriate for her needs. Core Course Three: Healthcare Informatics and Technology (DHS 8800) The Healthcare Informatics and Technology course examined the current and emerging uses of technologies, such as telemedicine, the electronic medical record (EMR), computer physician/prescriber order entry systems, and advancing healthcare education, utilizing simulation. • 16. Communication Project Management Plan And Communication Plan Communication is one of the most complicated aspects of project management. There are an infinite number of projects that has failed due to communication within the project team and the project stakeholders. Communication plan, and stakeholder management plan are one of the most important parts of project management. These two plans are the key for the project to complete successfully. There have been many organizations that do not implement or the stakeholder management plan and communication plan for their project. During the project life cycle, there are various departments such as information technology department (IT), human resources department, procurement, finance, etc. that are part of the same projects. In fact, sometimes there are also external organizations working on with the organization that has a contract to complete the project. Therefore, important to establish a proper communication plan, as well as stakeholder identification plan in order to complete projects successfully. Not implementing or following these plans can create many misunderstanding, confusions, or misinterpretation of data within the various teams involved in the project. A study noted in InformationWeek showed that 30 40 percent of IT managers complain about communications related data and information: receiving too much, no one sharing, and trying to decide what is current or has been previously received (Kliem, 2008). • 18. A Personal Philosophy of Education A personal philosophy of education serves to unify the experience of teaching for the individual. It provides our students with a professional that understands the context of learning from which their classroom stems. It also ensures a personal sense of growth: a lifelong process valued by the profession as a whole. I have combined beliefs from pedagogical, ethical and personally developed ideas I intend to use as a foundation in creating a nurturing classroom environment. Educationcould be defined ad infinitum, but for the purposes of synchronicity I have organized my beliefs in terms of four elements: enculturation, potential, inspiration and development. The meeting point of these ideas is the philosophical ideology of existentialist education. As defined by Dr. V.K. Maheshwari (2011), the origin of existentialism: rejects the existence of any source of objective, authoritative truth about metaphysics, epistemology, and ethics. Instead, individuals are responsible for determining for themselves what is true or false, right or wrong, beautiful or ugly. For the existentialist, there exists no universal form of human nature; each of us has the free will to develop as we see fit. The focus is entirely student centered, whereas the teacher serves as a guide seeking to educate the whole person. The goal of such a classroom is to develop a thoughtful, creative, self actualizing adult capable of rational thought, effective communication and independent
  • 19. The Reasons Why The Ottoman Empire Essay The Byzantine empire had its start in 330 AD with Constantine moving the capital of the Eastern Roman Empire/Byzantine Empire to Constantinople, present day Istanbul. This created a capital in which nearly no one could fully siege control over for centuries. This all changed on April 5,1453 when Sultan Mehmed II, ruler of the Ottoman Empire, determined that he would defeat the Byzantine Empireand take Constantinople, took action and marched to the city. After a 54 day siege, on Tuesday, May 29,1453, Sultan Mehmed II and the Muslim Turks breached the walls of the city and brought the last Roman empire crumbling to its knees. The reasons why the Ottoman Empire was able to bring down what once was the greatest empire in the world was due to a proper financial backing and assistance from allies, greater number of troops, better technological advancements, the type of leader Sultan Mehmed II was, and strategy. In 1451, Sultan Mehmed II, later known as Mehmed the Conquerer, started his second reign of power of the Ottoman Empire. Although there have been events that lead to roots of what might have caused the terrorism there is always evidence that contradicts itself. Some of these roots are radicalization, religion, and multiculturalism. Every one of these roots has caused terrorismthroughout decades which not only has the United Sates tried to stop, but which we have come to conclude that it is something that we cannot control which makes us believe there are other sources and roots of domestic terrorism. Terrorism is not only on certain days or years; terrorism is an everyday fear. American Jihad is an American story about a citizen who belonged to Al Qaeda name Anwar Awlaki who terrorized Boston and Florida. Born in New Mexico, he had a strong rapport with the American Muslim youths at his mosque, thanks to a fluid use of the English language (not a given with Islamic religious leaders, even in the U.S.) and his understanding of popular culture. The article describes him as acting like one of us but knew how to manipulate the internet and social media, using it to disseminate his videotaped teachings to a wider audience. Religion, culture, and radical thought not only were one of his influences on initiating the attacks but another terrorist too. In an

Life in the world changed when these two cultures that were directly opposite of one another collided. Once the new world was set up Europeans who ran these new territories called colonists today developed their own society and way of living and would end up revolting against the homeland. Systems such as these were implemented in the New World to assert the dominance of Europe and allow the countries colonizing to take what they wanted. European expansion into the New World brought a lot of changes, motivated by boosting trade and economy, some countries failed to see the harm done in accomplishing it. It was the colliding of two worlds that were not ready to meet that suddenly and abruptly. There is a self confidence gap between men and women (Schuh et al., 2014). Whereas men are socialized to be confident, assertive, and self promoting, cultural attitudes toward women as leaders continue to suggest to women that it is often inappropriate or undesirable to possess those characteristics (Enloe, 2004; Flammang, 1997). Balancing family responsibilities and work is one of the most challenging obstacles for women seeking leadership positions (Eagly Carli, 2007; Sandberg, 2013), and it can be especially daunting for the millions of working women raising children on their own (Hess Kelly, 2015). • 23. Analysis Of The Poisonwood Bible By Barbara Kingsolver In the novel The Poisonwood Bible by Barbara Kingsolver, Nathan Price, the dominant male figure, is a closed minded and egotistical individual who causes a rift between himself and his family, for whom he has little concern in comparison to his misguided hopes of saving the tribes of Ham, as well as his ultimate reason for his mission: spreading God to so called sinners. Nathan not only physically alienates himself, his four daughters, and his wife from the comfort of their prideful Southern home by forcing them to accompany him on his year long mission to save the Congo, but also emotionally alienates himself by personifying the stereotypical white misogynistic male of the 1960s, which ultimately leads to the spiritual alienation of his... Nathan claims that for the sinners to truly be reborn they must first be baptized, just as Jesus said let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness (Matthew 3.15). However, the tribe members refuse baptism, due to the dangers lurking in the depths of its murky water. The author depicts Nathan s selfish nature through his unwillingness to accept the tribe s simple request. To illuminate how far Nathan is willing to go to spread his ideas of God, as well as his overwhelming God complex, the author sacrifices Ruth May, Nathan s youngest child. When told of her death, Nathan does not take responsibility for what happens, but instead simply says she wasn t baptized yet, which stirs a new filmy hatred in his children, particularly Leah, who had once seen reason behind Nathan s trek to the Congo, but now sees the painful truth behind the journey. Through her father s outlandish behavior, Leah discovers that Nathan not only physically isolates her from the beauty of the world, but also spiritually binds her to his own misconceptions of God. She [feels] the breath of God go cold on her skin as she realizes her father s simplistic idea of God is the driving force of her and her family s alienation, not the Congo or the individuals who reside there. In both trials the termites seemed to avoid the squares for the most part, but when they got near one they would walk around the outside of the square. Out of all the colors it was evident black was the preffered color because they spend 11 seconds inside that square 2 seconds in the blue, and 3 seconds in the red. While this seems like a short period of time considering each trial was 2 minutes long the termites spend a good majority of that time near the black square which we did not put into our data table. If three squares are drawn in different colors, then the termites will mostly stay in the red square, because it likely has the strongest scent. Each thinking style tended to favor different type of music, allowing the researchers to predict what music the person likes simply by understanding their thinking style. Empathizers feel connected to others, they have strong emotions and they base their decision making often on emotional values. On the other hand, systemizers think more rationally. They are calm and composed in their decision making. As you might suspect, the balanced thinkers are a mixture of both these styles. First, the empathizers were shown to prefer mellow music low energy, sad emotions and emotional depth. Besides, the melting point of the white solid was also determined to confirm the purity of the product. The melting point was turned out to be around 88 91В°C which was very close to the expected melting point (88 90В°C). One of the problem in isolating and purifying the product was during the recrystallization process. Since recrystallization reaction used to purify the product from impurities, this resulted in low product yield. When the pure product was crystallized and impurities were removed from the product, the weight of product became lesser compared to the weight before recrystallization. The percent yield of the reaction was 25.6 % which was a bit low, but this value was a reasonable yield for recrystallization. The percent yield for recrystallization was usually a bit low compared to reactions without recrystallization. The school offered a lesson called An Intro Flight. Even though it wasn t really a lesson, the school advertised it as such and offered it at a discount. The owners were hoping to entice people who d never been up in a small plane to try the experience. Of course, the reason behind the lesson was the belief that after the flight, people would fall in love with flying and sign up for a series of lessons. The promotion was a joke. Earning a private pilot s license involves 40 or more hours of flight time, qualifying grades on written examinations, and passing a practical application test known as a check ride. There is also an oral exam. Oh, and the cost exceeds $5,000. The Second Treatise Of Government In the Second Treatise of Government, Locke explains human beings right of private property as a natural, enforceable right that men are granted with in the state of Nature as part of his larger justification of the replacement of the state of Nature by civil governments. The basis of Locke s interpretation of such right comes from God s ownershipof what God creates, including both human beings and worldly resources. While human beings ownerships of their bodies are granted directly through God, Locke laid out 3 main conditions to be sufficed in order to justify private appropriations of worldly resources. This paper will examine Locke s premises regarding the state of Nature and his explanations of these conditions, compare them with Rousseau s version of requirements for private holdings in The Social Contract, and at the same time discuss whether each condition for private appropriation is sufficient in his effort of justifying unlimited properties. To begin with, Locke believes that at the state of nature, human beings are given the right of properties, and private appropriations can occur as long as they fulfill three main criteria. Such assumption allows Locke to discuss private properties without the interference of other parties, including civil governments. According to Locke, human beings and their private properties are protected by nature as God s will to expect human beings to thrive and to develop, also driven by human beings natural rights of living and
