If an Athlete goes down during this event, medical staff will initially hold until the
Head Bullfighter gives the signal that it is safe to enter the ring. The Athletic
Trainers, will be the first on the scene to assess the situation. If further medical
attention is required, the paramedics will be notified via radio, and drive the gator
into the ring for assistance. Security will make sure no spectators interfere with any
medical treatments.

we had printers and journalists writing and printing stories for the people. Looking
back, we can divide journalism history into different time periods and see how
news reporting developed over time. Some of these time periods include the
Colonial Period which spanned from when the first Pilgrims came to America in
the mid 1600 s till the 1760 s. Other periods include the Revolution period which
picked up from the colonial period till the early 1780 s. The period of Westward

Progeria is a little known progressive genetic disorder. This extremely rare, highly
fatal, genetic disorder, which comes from the Greek progeros meaning prematurely
aging (Gale Encyclopedia, p. 2202). With the Greek language pro is meant to mean

Commonly referred to as Progeria, this disorder is named Hutchinson Gilford
Progeria Syndrome; HGPS for short, was first described in an academic journal by

Since HGPS s discovery a reported 1 in 8 million newborns have been known to
become affected with the disorder (Parker, 2004). With approximately one hundred

the Office of Rare Disease of the National Institute of Health has listed it as a rare

The collections of this museum include displays for the Natural History,
Anthropology, and History departments. Although not all of the exhibits are shown
year round, the display for the Native Americans of Southern California is. It
features the Chumash, Tongva, Serrano, Luiseno, Cahuilla, and Kumeyaay tribes.
There are also some exhibits for non Californian tribes such as the Navajo and
Pueblo peoples. Out of all of the aforementioned tribes, this paper mainly focuses
on the Luiseno, Kumeyaay, and Navajo. These three stood out the most because of

Nicholas Stoller s Neighbors
When I got the invite to see Nicholas Stoller s work in progress comedy Neighbors
back in February, I didn t know what to expect. Of course, I knew it was going to
be raunchy but my main concern was whether the film would be actually funny.
Seth Rogen s particular brand of comedy has been largely hit or miss with me as
there are times where I ve found him too abrasive (like in 2011 s ill advised
reimagining of venerable radio serial crime fighter the Green Hornet) but when he s
in a role that plays to his strengths, he can be absolutely hilarious. Despite my mixed
feelings on Rogen, the biggest wildcard in Neighbors was Zac Efron. Women
specifically teenage girls may go crazy over his baby blue eyes and perfectly
formed pecs and abs but as an actor, he s been less than impressive. With only the
poster as my frame of reference, I went into the screening of Neighbors and came
out ninety minutes later in pain...because I was laughing so hard! In fact, I enjoyed
Stoller s film so much that I recently saw it a second time in its completed form,

The art speech was not necessarily my best moment when it came to audience
analysis. I should have followed through with making the speech less about the
assignment and more about who I was presenting it to. The dragon and persuasive
speech probably would have been better had I not had so much information, I

am not only saying that because of the grade I received, but because I owned the

Introduction In this paper I will discuss the significance of Paul Tillich s theology
within our current pluralistic society. I hope to accomplish this by specifically
addressing how certain concepts within his Theology, when embraced or applied, can
begin to relieve western Christianity s concern for remaining relevant . I will also
present some of Tillich s theological ideas concerning his Christology, characteristics
of a symbol, and concept of God as a symbol.
I. The Christology of Tillich:
Jesus as the Christ
Tillich suggests in the article A Reinterpretation of the Doctrine of the Incarnation
that Christians do not have a purely historiographical interest in the man known as
Jesus, but a thriving interest in the Christ. He elaborates by saying the reports about
Jesus of Nazareth found in the gospels are the reports of Jesus as the Christ, not just
a man. Tillich finds that mere historical research cannot tear down the foundation of
Christianity because there is immense power in the symbol of Christ (a topic later

At face value, Anne s speech in the published ending of Jane Austen s Persuasion
seems to not quite follow with her quiet nature throughout most of the book. In the
original unpublished conclusion to this book, Anne retains her standard silence that
is her signature characteristic. However, with a modest amount of studying one will
find Anne s remaining silent would not follow suit with her character s progression
through the story. The reason though for her continued growth towards comfort in
speech I believe to be directly tied to her continued growth back towards Captain
Wentworth. Reading through this book we become accustomed to Anne being the
silent character, leading us to feel like something is wrong when she begins to speak
more and more. Due to this we are naturally drawn to question why Anne is speaking
so much.
More than this we must wonder, why Anne did not speak before this point?
Throughout this book we are given enough information to see that Anne speaks
much less in comparison to all the other characters, however we are never given
anything to say why she is this way. One possible explanation that we find in
Chapter 1 is this description of her relationship with her father and sisters, her
word had no weight; her convenience was always to give way; she was only Anne.
(Austen, 1817) This seems like quite enough to keep someone from speaking up as
much, knowing that they would always get automatically shut down for being
considered only Anne . This seems like a strange way for Anne s own family to treat
her. Given, Sir Walter is not known for being the father of the year, but he at least
treats his other two daughters with some form of fatherly love. The flaw in this
though is that in the very last published chapter it is said that Sir Walter, indeed,
though he had no affection for Anne, and no vanity flattered, to make him really
happy on the occasion, was very far from thinking it a bad match for her. It is clearly
stated that Sir Walter did not even have any affection towards his daughter Anne.
This all lets us deny the idea of Sir Walter s view of his daughter affecting her
reason for silence. The next possibility would be in her own sister s treatment of

The Effect of Structure on Purpose in One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich One
Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn follows a Russian
prison inmate, Shukhov, through a standard day in the gulag system. The novel
displays Shukhov s struggle to survive through inhumane conditions and how he
deals and tolerates his suppressive and endless lifestyle. The novel provides insight
into the differing ideals and philosophical views that the very diverse groups of
prisoners hold. By using tools such as perspective and time, Solzhenitsyn provides a
platform from which he can bring multiple levels of meaning to an otherwise
monotonous and uneventful account. Time plays an important role in the structure
on One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich. The lack of chapters, sections, or parts in
the book keep the narration continuous, creating the effect of an elongated day that
drags on. In the following passage, Shukhov reveals the how time is perceived in the
camp: No zek ever lays eyes on a clock or watch... All a zek needs to know is how
soon is reveille? How long till work parade? Till dinnertime? (171) . The effect of
time elongation is done with the lack of specific times; events are only described

Now, there is a double disc soundtrack with thirty tracks on it. The one song on there
that has the most meaning would The Doors song The End . This song not only set
the mood for the scene waiting in Saigon and the move as a whole but is also used
to foreshadow the death of Coronal Kurtis. Mr. Coppola, the director of the film, was

in the background all we would see is the destruction that the war had on the jungle.
With the music we get more of feeling of the destruction that it had mentally, not
only physically on Willard mind. We get the sense that Willard knows something

The first spoken words of the song add the needed intensity to the sequence and the

As we move into the montage sequence of shots, the music words are used to
express what we are seeing on screen. Mr. Coppola uses the rest of the sequence to
foreshadow what is going to happen at the end of the movie. This is the main
function of the song in the movie, which is to get the viewers mind thinking about
the end of the movie. It starts out with an overlapping dissolve from the burning
jungle into Willard s burnt wet face. As the dissolve leads to Willard s face we
hear the song say, I ll never look into your eyes...again. This symbolizes death. We
get the sense through the music that someone, either Willard or someone else in the
move, is going to die. The music is still playing as we get a delusional view of what
Willard is thinking about. Then we get to another shot where we see a
