Vehicles (UAVs) have been used by the military for many kinds of missions, like
reconnaissance, scouting and carrying out armed attacks. Due to
commercialization however, UAVs have now entered the market and are being
used for many civil applications, such as surveying, aerial surveillance, motion
picture filmmaking, scientific research as well as firefighting, which is what I
will be examining in this paper. Every year in the US, forest fires and wildfires
claim on average more lives than any other types of natural disaster (1) and their
suppression demands a very large amount of resources. Nowadays, forest fire
fighting is mostly based on visual observations, by experts in the field, but even
they have a very high margin of error, mostly due to the lack of visibility, because
of the smoke occluding the actual fire. Therefore, it is possible to employ small
UAVs (sUAVs) to help monitor and track forest fires, to search for people in
danger and provide aid and to scout large sectors of land in the first place to detect
small local fires, so they can be dealt with, before they get out of hand. However, this

While I was researching about Drinking and Driving, I found a few articles that
show the reader complete information about the risk that represent Driving under
the influence of the alcohol. Those articles discuss the results of driving while
being drunk, some of the results can be going to jail, but I believe that going to jail
is one of the softest consequences that an individual can have for drinking and
driving. I could not found a lot of information that I can use as opposition, in other

On June 25, 1876 in central Montana, off the banks of Little Bighorn, George
Armstrong Custer and his battalion, defeated by the overpowering force of Sioux

use of tone. A writer creates a particular tone in his or her writing using literary tools
like characterization, diction, or theme. Harper strongly protests against slaveryand
portrays the horrid realities of slavery, in several of her poems, and accomplishes this
through the use of diction and imagery.
Each poem has its own tone, and a writer may use diction or word choice to convey
a certain mood. For example, Harper s, Bury Me in A Free Land, poem shows how
diction can play a role in conveying a dismal tone. In the beginning of the poem
Harpers word choice for the last line of the first stanza, conveys a since of rebellion
when she writes, But not in a land where men are slaves (4). Here the word men is
referencing the deep inequality between people, without having to mention race.
This also evokes a since of deflated pride; being buried in a country where human
beings are treated as cattle. All men are supposed to be created equal , but Harper
makes it clear that some men are not being treated as such.
Further into the poem, Harper s word choice clearly evokes a terrifying tone, when

Another type of writing technique he employs is the dash. White uses the dash to
add information to the clause it follows, like definitions and contrasts. An example
