Humanized Mice and Hepatitis C
Humanized mice has become a popular tool to be used for understanding the treatment of interferon
for hepatitis C. The humanized mouse has the human immune system incorported into it. Hepatitis C
is known to affect many around the world. It leads to liver damage. With the aid of the humanized
mouse, understanding the mechanism hepatitis C uses to invade the liver can be studied. With the
humanized mouse, treatment can be administered or developed against hepatitis C. With the creation
of the humanized mouse in todays research world, understanding the basic of any diease as become
easier. With genomics study done hepatitis C can be better understood. Animal model avalibility has

The humanized mice were then infected with hepatitis C virus and the immune response and liver
disease stimulated by hepatitis C was studied. A group of control mice were prepared to study against.
The results showed that hepatitis C virus infected the liver and produced an immune response of T
cells against hepatitis C virus. Due to infection by the virus it produced an inflammation of the liver,
hepatitis and fibrosis. Therefore it can be said that humanized mouse is helpful in understanding the
infection pathway, the immune response and liver disease cause by hepatitis C. The humanized mouse
can aid in finding treatments for hepatitis C virus.
Hepatitis C affects millions worldwide. Hepatitis C causes infection leading to chronic liver disease.
Human hepatocyte chimeric mice were made by transplantation of the human hepatocyte to mice.
Reverse genetic hepatitis C viruses of two different genotypes were made from infectious clones and
human hepatocyte chimeric mice. Chimeric mice were injected with both genotypes of hepatitis C.
There after treatment by interferon was administered. A control of human serum from a donor with
chronic hepatitis C was used. The results obtained showed that mice injected with both genotypes of
hepatitis C virus had a quantifiable level of virus present in the blood. It was observed that genotype 1
did not response to interferon therapy as compared to genotype 2. Results showed a decreased level of
genotype 2 of hepatitis C virus after

Survival In Auschwitz Essay
Imagine now a man who is deprived of everyone he loves, and at the same time of his house, his
habits, his clothes, in short, of everything he possesses: he will be a hollow man, reduced to suffering
and needs, forgetful of dignity and restraint, for he who loses all often easily loses himself. This short
quote is taken from Primo Levi s Survival in Auschwitz . It depicts a true story of Primo Levi during
the Holocaust, who was relocated to an extermination camp after beginning a great life after college.
Primo was captured with a resistant group from Italy. He used his college education and degree in
chemistry to stay alive.
The above quote brings a similar quote to mind. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After the liberation of Auschwitz, Primo again had nothing. Necessities and goods were furnished
throughout his life and now Primo had to start all over. He had nothing except for life, something most
people who walked through the front gates of Auschwitz lost.
Jesus Christ lived a similar life many, many years before. He lived his young adulthood life teaching
the people of the world about God and humanity. He cherished his life and the life of others. He
respected all living things and tried to help them live a non sinful life. He too was deprived of things
near the end of his life. Like Primo, Jesus was convicted of what he thought and spoke of and was
killed. The main difference between the two men is that Jesus lost his life. Jesus though had a second
chance as he was later resurrected from hell and brought into heaven. There he again helped the
people of the world.
Furthermore, both of these men were convicted of religious believes and ripped away of their lives.
Even though Primo died many years after his stay at Auschwitz, he was never the same before that. He
will be a man whose life and death can be lightly decided with no sense of human affinity, in the most
fortunate of cases, on the basis of a pure judgment of utility. It is in the way that one can understand
the double sense of the term, extermination camp, and it is now clear what we seek to

Essay on Cheesecake Factory
Often times when in conversation with friends, peers, and even strangers there is one question that
seems to always come up; What is your favorite restaurant? People are curious in seeing what type of
restaurant you like because when revealing that information it tells more about you than you think.
When telling somebody where you enjoy eating it gives them a sense of how much you re willing to
spend for a good meal, what side of town you like to go to and even gives them a slight glance at your
personality. When asked that question I undoubtingly respond the same way every time; The
Cheesecake Factory! Let s explore the strengths and weaknesses of this Restaurant and determine
some things that would possibly increase the overall brand. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There are so many different restaurants serving so many different types of food. There are Chinese
restaurants, Japanese restaurants, Classic American restaurants, Italian restaurants, it makes it difficult
to decide what to eat at dinner time. What gives a restaurant the upper hand over its competition?
The Cheesecake factory has some key strengths that keeps it running at a high level. The Cheesecake
Factory has a low employee turnover rate. That means that once they hire somebody the person
usually keeps the job for a long time. Of course you have situations and instances where some
employees have to be let go for whatever reason, but when you check your numbers as to how many
had to go verses how many are still working in good standings, you have to tip your hat to your
employment staff. Another strength of the Cheesecake Factory is that they have such a large variety of
dishes and desserts. Variety is key when in the restaurant business because many times there are so
many other restaurant that are serving the same style, if not the same exact dishes as you. The
Cheesecake factory have hundreds of different cheesecakes to choose from. You will not find another
restaurant with that much variety in their desserts. Their main courses and appetizers follow suit with
amazingly large selection. One more advantage of the Cheesecake Factory is its ability to appeal to
various kinds of people; in other words, location location location!!! The

How Did Queen Elizabeth 1 Make England A Better Place
Queen Elizabeth 1: Made England a better place As Queen Elizabeth arrived at the Tower of London
she said Her lands as true as a subject, being prisoner, as ever landing at these stairs. Before Thee, O
God, I speak it, having none other friends but Thee alone (Elizabeth i quotes.) This quote shows that
Queen Elizabeth was very lonely and innocent at the Tower of London as a prisoner. Queen Elizabeth
1 made England a better place while in rule. Before becoming Queen, Elizabeth was a princess. On
September 7, 1533 Queen Elizabeth was born to a King and Queen in England (Biography queen

Examples Of Faith In Night By Elie Wiesel
Death, murder, bloody horror! The death of many can destroy the minds of millions, just imagine what
the death of millions can do to one s mind and soul. The Holocaust was a horrific event, changing
people s hearts and even their relationships with god after millions were forced to watch others die, be
burned, and starved. This event of this mass murder is a great example of how man can be so
inhumane to one another and how those events can have a great effect on someone s faith.
Throughout the story Night, we followed Ellie throughout his experience in the holocaust. On many
occasions others were forced to watch other Jewish be killed. The first sign of this which caused loss
of faith was Moishe the Beadle, who was a very religious man, after ... Show more content on

Why, but why would I bless Him? Every fiber in me rebelled. Because He caused thousands of
children to burn in His mass graves? Because he kept six crematoria working day and night, including
Sabbath and the Holy Days? Because His great might, He had created Auschwitz, Birkenau, Buna, and
so many other factories of death. (Wiesel 67). This example shows how Elie is losing his faith. Wiesel
does not understand how if God, The Almighty , was real with the greatest power how he could allow
the burning and killing of so many innocent people and if He was then Elie would no longer want to
praise someone of that much cruelty. Later Wiesel gives a greater example of how he loses his faith in
god. And I, the former mystic, was thinking: Yes, man is stronger, Greater than God. When Adam and
Eve deceived You, You chased them from paradise, when You displeased by Noah s generation, You
brought down the flood... But look at these men whom You have betrayed, allowing them to be
tortured, slaughtered, gassed, and burned, what do they do? They pray before you! (Wiesel 68). This
continues to show that Elie is extremely confused how God could turn his back on them when they
worship him and didn t do anything to get this type of torture such as

Natural Preservative Research
Investigating the Effect of Natural Preservatives on the Growth of Microbes
Introduction:
Food preservation has been, and continues to be a fundamental aspect of our society. As we shift from
consuming the foods produced on our own land to store bought items, we are beginning to rely more
on natural and artificial products to keep the food we consume visually appealing and to prolong
decomposition by microbes. In order to achieve this, companies and individuals alike have turned to
the preservative qualities natural substances provide to ensure the extended duration of their food.
Most commonly, we see the use of salt, sugar, acetic acid, citric acid, and extracts in the preservation
of goods. The use of salt as a preservative dates back to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Why Water Is Essential For All Living Organisms And Its...
Water
Water is essential for all living organisms. It is known to everyone around the world as one of the most
important requirements for life. Based on a research by Harvard University, water covers about 75%
of the earth s surface and it s necessary in all different natural environments such as forests,
grasslands, tundra, marine etc. Water also plays a major role for industry and commerce, recreation,
energy, health environments and more.
As we observe, water is essential for life in any matter of existence without water this planet will not
exist.

In 1811 Amadeo Avogadro found the H20 formula for water. These experiments were proven that H2
and O2 were the fundamental component of water.
After many years of research, Scientifics confirmed that water is a strong solvent; it s a molecule that
contains two hydrogen (H) and one oxygen (0) atom and they both are non metals. It s referred as the
chemical equation H2O. Oxygen atom has 6 electrons in its outer shell and it is in the group six in the
periodic table. Hydrogen atom has one electron in its outer shell and can form only one bond. Water is
tasteless, Odorless, and colorless and It has a molar mass of 18.01 g/mol. Everything is made of
atoms, which is the smallest particle of an element (Introductory Chemistry, Steven S. Zumdahi and
Donald J).
The oxygen atom also called the apex of the water molecule bears a slight electronegative charge
while hydrogen possesses a more positive one (Kirk 225). Because of the opposite charges attract, the
water molecules are drawn together. When an oxygen atom is linked to a molecule s hydrogen atom, a
bond called a hydrogen bond is formed (Kirk 256). Hydrogen and oxygen would like to have stable
electron configurations but do not as individual atoms. They can do it by sharing electrons throughout
covalent bonds.
The figure below is an illustrative representation of a water molecule having polar covalent bonds
between the Oxygen atom and the Hydrogen atoms.

Compare And Contrast Odysseus And Beowulf
The Odyssey, by Homer, shows what Odysseus went through to get home in the 20 years he was away
from home. From the day Telemachus was born, Odysseus left to go fight in Trogan War. He fought in
Troy for 10 years and then took a worrisome route home for 10 more. He endured death and many
hardships that only he was able to survive throughout the time away from home. Meanwhile, Beowulf
protrayed good vs. evil, establishing an identity, and what it means to be heroic. Beowulf, keeper of
warriors, defeated Grendal and Grendal s mother. But that wasn t enough, he had to defeat the most
dangerous, petrifying dragon; only then would he retire. Because of his courage and bravery, his
strength wasn t enough this time; he ended up dying for the Geats when he fought the dragon.
Although in a way Odysseus and Beowulf both had support, they are both powerful heroes who
accomplished amazing things; however, Odysseus, who was known for his cunning, was flawed and
had help from the gods, while Beowulf, who was known for his bravery and strength, was portrayed
as flawless.

Hannah Arendt Minority Treaties
Hannah Arendt s begins the chapter with the first part of after the fall of the First World War stating
the condition of the stateless people clarified the catastrophe of the nation state model and the failure
of human rights. When the nation system was created, the people in power in Europe separated the
people into 3 major groups which are the state people, the nationalities like the Slovaks in
Czechoslovakia, and the minorities like the Germans, being the strongest officially economically and
in number. The Minority Treaties were created by the League of Nations to seek security to the
minority groups in the new states. The real significance of the Minority Treaties (pg.274) was that
currently millions of people were known by the international law since by the nation states, they have
the power to strip down the citizens of that state by banishment or other worse factors. Only nationals

Qin Shi Huang Tomb Analysis
The Qin Shi Huang mausoleum was built within 37 years of Qin Shi s years of being the emperor in
China. In his mausoleum contained a hidden one of the eighth wonders of the world Terracotta Army,
which is discovered in 1974 by a farmer named Mr. Yang. The film mainly focused on the the first
emperor era which was ruled by Qin Shi Huang, who unified China as one country, including its
language and writing. He also is considered as one of the most crucial emperors in Chinese history
because he burned many books that were written in my different languages, massacring the captured
soldiers from war, which gave him the name of Slaughter. Qin Shi Huang was scared that his enemies
would revenge him after his death, so he started to build his mausoleum while he was still emperor.
Inside the mausoleum contained many kinds of statues like horses, birds, warriors, musician, acrobats
and one of the famous objects, that archaeologists found is the Terracotta Army, which was built to
protect Qin Shi Huang in the afterlife. On his scale of the mausoleum, modern people considered Qin
Shi Huang had made a palace full of goods for himself after his death instead of just creating a simple
mausoleum. A reason for this is because in Chinese culture treat death like birth ( Ian Bremner, 2014).

The Importance Of Witchcraft In The 1400s
Witchcraft in the 1400s going on to the 1700s gained massive popularity due to several factors. Some
of these factors included hallucinogens contained in the oyl women used to anoint themselves,
manipulating the hysteria and using it as a form of social control to make people conform to the norms
of the society and lastly, using it to explain misfortunes that afflicted the people of the community and
the neighboring ones. First, a witch had confessed that before going off on their meetings, they (the
witches) anoint themselves with a special oyl that was brought to them by a spirit and that it assisted
them on their journey with the devil to Sabbat, a place filled with merriment where their desires were
being fulfilled. This ointment was said to help in the transportation of their soul or body to the said
destination. The oyl was rubbed on their staffs, broomstick or under their armpits and other hairy parts
of their body. What was unknown to them was that the ointment contained hallucinogenic active
agents from plants like mandrake, henbane, and belladonna (also referred to as deadly nightshade).
From these plants, the active hallucinogenic agent, atropine can be found in them and according to
Marvin Harris, atropine is...absorbable through the intact skin. Under the influence of this
hallucinogen, the users of the ointment claimed to see several people with them making merry in the
Sabbat and fulfilling their utmost desires of sexual lust and other erotic behaviors.

Homoid Homicide In Honduras
Honduras has a serious amount of homicides occurring in their community. Within their economy,
Honduras is one of the poorest countries, with about 65% of their citizens living in poverty. During his
term, President Zelaya stirred controversy among the country through acts of reforming the
constitution and making unethical policy decisions (U.S. Department of State, 2011). Honduras has
been ranked the most violence country on the globe. This accounts for the one death per hour ratio that
is due to political views of Zelaya, inequality among citizens, and organized crime (B Lajoie, D

Homicide effects individual s daily lives as well as their mental health. The aftermath of death on one
s family and friends can cause serious mental health disorders. For example, post traumatic stress,

homicide events in Honduras, some information may be inaccurate or incomplete due to the
inconsistency in reports. However, data collected about 9,453 violent deaths were reported in 2013 in

twenty to twenty four. Also, among those numbers, 15% of those killed were assaulted, stabbed, or

Summer Break Should Be Taught In School
When summer break finally approaches students want nothing more than to forget about school and
all the responsibilities that come with it. In those three months of no school students stop practicing
what is taught in school and begin to forget the information already learned. Students should be
assigned a summer reading book because it can help students to continue learning and prepare for the

Dental Implant Essay
Novel Applications for Si facilitated Dental Implant Osseointegration and Periodontal Guided Bone
Regeneration: A Review of the Current Literature
Silicon has been used as a crucial component of restorative driven biomaterials in dentistry. However,
the use of silicon for periodontally driven therapies and dental implant treatment outcomes has not
been explored as extensively as there are certain unique properties of this metalloid that are
functionally plausible as an evident potential useful agent for periodontal and dental implant therapies.
The exact biological role of silicon on bone health and connective tissue is not fully understood,
however, it has been postulated in the literature that silicon plays a significant role in ... Show more

(5) In addition, periodontal guided bone regeneration and tissue regeneration has been shown effective
on surface modified ceramic implants with micropatterned silica coatings. (6) Silica coatings on
ceramic implants have not only shown favorable effects on bone health, but also soft tissue via
promotion of tight tissue apposition thus potentially preventing post implant placement gingival
retraction and peri implantitis. (6)
In addition, the zirconia vs. titanium debate of implant material for maxillofacial and dental use may
soon be reformed as the silicon nitride implant receives more attention from the dental community.
This is due primarily to the substantial anti bacterial properties of silicon nitride (SI3N4) implants
when compared with titanium, zirconia, and polyetheretherketone (PEEK) implants. Anti infective
properties of silicon nitride implants have shown superior resistance to bacterial infection and biofilm
accumulation on implant surfaces. (4) One in vitro study cited live bacteria counts around PEEK
(88%) and titanium (21%) implants, whereas none were present adjacent to silicon nitride implants.
(7) As a byproduct of these anti bacterial properties,

Why The Mass Extinction Of Dinosaurs
65 million years ago, dinosaurs ruled the planet. These fascinating animals were the largest, strongest
creatures to ever walk the face of the earth, yet, they met a fate that would change the world forever.
All that is left are the fossilized remains of these captivating creatures. Their fossils, along with the
layers of our Earth s rock and sediment, tell a story of how they lived and how they died. However,
there is still an ongoing debate in the world of science of exactly what catastrophe caused these
magnificent animals to take their last breathes and never reappear again. Was it a gigantic meteor or

Introduction Healthy potion is an existing business dedicated in producing and selling unique
beverage made of some special concentrate imported from north western China. Although the business

business opportunities which includes the growing market shares and developing new products. The
business has been earning significant profits and have just recently overturned the startup capital cost
in quarter 3 of 2016. This indicates that the company is in a good position and there is a high chance
that it will perform steadily in the foreseeable future. Furthermore, the business weakness of having to
rely only on one product for its main source of income could turn to be an opportunity for the business
to develop other new range of product. Healthy potion faces threat of potential competition and
production delay that may be harmful to achieving business objectives. The existence of positive
economic profits through selling healthy beverage will attract new firms to enter the industry. As a
result, Healthy potion will lose a portion of their market share and causing sales to drop. Furthermore,
delay in production may also occur if the exporter of the special concentrate fails to produce a certain
amount of the main ingredient. This may result into a further decline in sales revenue. Strategy for

The Mughal Empire Was Created By A Man Known Babur
One of the most famous empires in India, known as the Mughal Empire was created by a man known
Babur (who was a decent of Genghis Khan). He didn t have many successes in remaining and
conquering central Asia like his ancestors so therefore he decided to try and conquer South Asia.
Around 1527 he defeated two of the most powerful forces in India but was not able to turn the
territory he gained into an empire. After his death he left that responsibility to his son Humayun, who
even through lacked the military genius, was able to gain and have a foot hold in Agra and Delhi
(mainly through the help of Persian Military). But it was his son Akbar who is credited for really
laying the foundation for the Empire to flourish. During his reign from 1556 1605, he managed to gain
territory over the northern and central India. He also secured the northwestern frontier (gateway to
India for so many previous invasions). His most important territorial gain was the area of Gujarat, in
the west, which provided the Mughal empire with enormous wealth from its commercial centers, as
well as access to the Arabian Sea and hence opportunity for lucrative trade with both the Europeans
and the Ottoman empire. He was also into in spiritual and religious issues, and in 1582 he created a

Analysis Of The Poem The Judgement Of Paris And Greek...
Helen s Judgement of Paris and Greek Marriage Ritual in Sappho 16, an article written by Eric
Dodson Robinson from Johns Hopkins University, explores how Homer s writings and Greek
marriage rituals feed into the meaning of Sappho s sixteenth fragment. Primarily through exploring the
parallel roles of the characters in Sappho s fragment and Homeric tales, Dodson Robinson begins to
decipher what is beautiful in Sappho s eyes. Exploring the subjective role of Helen in the poem, the
author reveals how abducting Helen could be a possible reference to archaic Greek marriage ritual.
Ultimately, it concludes that the relationship between traditional judgment roles and desire are far
more complex than it seems. Written By Ilja Leonard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The syntax of these particular lines adds to the anticipation of the audience. The naval and military
imagery creates an expectation of a subject that reflects these first lines, not beauty and love. In fact,
the first few lines make the reader expect the opposite of what the poem is going to suggest. This
surprise becomes important for a piece that is orally performed because it generates attention, which
creates an appeal to the ear and perception of linear succession (Pfeiffjer 3). Sappho, cutting against
the harsh beauty of the military, reveals that it is what one most loves that is the most beautiful. This
exclamation of love makes the reader expect an immediate explanation of who or what Sappho places
this love in, but it is not revealed until later in the poem. Surprise combines with suspense and from
the moment Sappho begins, the audience expects her object of love to be revealed (Pfeiffjer 3). There
is, however, a difference between the two translations. In Mary Barnard s translation, the course of the
priamel is broken into two different stanzas, putting more emphasis on the establishment of the
militaristic expectation the reader suspects. Yet, in Anne Carson s translation of the poem the lines
about the military are in groups, followed by the line what you love set alone, drawing attention to the
different tone being established (Carson 4). Where Carson succeeds in emphasizing Sappho s point,
Barnard fails. Yet, where

Nia And Bobby
What ways do you think Bobby shows of him coming of age? I will give you some. Some ways that I
think Bobby comes of age is that he shows his love for feather, he makes smart decisions, he express
his feelings. This essay is about the question of does Bobby come of age? What do you think?
My symbol is the ballon. Here is how the ballon represents coming of age, it represents coming of age
because when Nia gave this ballon to bobby it meant something very important. The ballon that Nia
gave Bobby was her giving bobby her love and innocence. This was the way that Nia was going to tell
Booby that she was pregnant with his kid. Officially, when Nia handed Bobby this ballon she was
symbolizing that she and Bobby have became a whole now. This, also means that the ballon has
another meaning too. The other meaning is that when she had handed this ballon to Bobby it could
have meant that the baby has died or somebody has died and she wants to let Bobby know. This is the
unique way that the ballon is a symbol and it represents coming of age. ... Show more content on

Strategic Challenges For Local Communities
Strategic Challenges for Local Communities The Department of Homeland Security released the 2014
Quadrennial Homeland Security Review on June 18, 2014 as required by the Homeland Security Act
of 2002 and its amendments. This review outlined the current state of preparedness, as well as the
future areas of concentration. It also determined six strategic challenges facing the nation: terrorist
threat; growing cyber threats; biological concerns as a whole; nuclear terrorism; transnational criminal
organizations; and natural hazards. The basic building block of emergency management in the U.S. is
the local community. Each step begins here. Threat assessments are completed on the local level.
Planning, mitigation, and response are all responsibilities of the local community to support the state
and Federal practice using the guidance provided by both.
One of the best guidance documents for these communities is the Comprehensive Preparedness Guide
201 (CPG201). In this guide, communities will complete the Threat and Hazard Identification and
Risk Assessment. The THIRA has a detailed four step process in developing a robust Risk Assessment
to allow the community to develop its plans. The first step is to identify the threats and hazards of
concern to the community. Some of the challenges described by the Department of Homeland Security
may not be applicable to the community or may pose extremely limited threat. The second step in to

Customer Relationship Management ( Crm )
Businesses in today s world face many obstacles on the road to success. They have to have sound
business plans, solid product or services to offer, and they have to generate revenue to keep their
businesses running. In order to achieve these things, a business needs to know what the customer
wants from them. Many companies have come to realize that customers and the service they receive
are very important in expanding their brand. Because of that recognition, most businesses of the
twenty first century have developed customer relationship management (CRM) initiatives to better
relate to their customer bases. What does customer relationship management (CRM) mean? Kurtz
defines CRM as a set of strategies and tools that companies use to learn about customers (Kurtz, 2015,
pg. 211). One strategy that companies use is training their employees in customer service and
customer appreciation techniques. A company s employee is often the first point of contact for many
customers, either in the business to business world or in the consumer marketplace. In this regard, an
employee can be considered as the face of the company for that customer. So, a well trained employee
in consumer relations can lead to huge dividends down the road for that company. Another key CRM
approach is the efforts of businesses to enter the social media world. Social media has allowed
customers to provide instant feedback about the goods and services they received. In the past, a
company only had to worry

In summary, it cannot be said that exact cause of most severe traffic accidents are known with
certainty but it is believed that speeding and drinking, jointly or separately, play some role in the
events that lead up to those accidents. Also to blame, in many instances, are the design of the highway,
the condition of the weather, the maintenance of the vehicle, the time of the day (many severe
accidents occur at dusk, with poor lighting and tired drivers), and the presence of radar detectors. A
study by the Ohio State Police found that radar detectors were present in at least one of the vehicles
involved in 69% of all severe traffic accidents on the highways of that state in 2005. Studies in other
states have confirmed that finding, with some estimates of the relationship running as high as 75%.
The use of radar detectors is illegal in many if not most states, but neither the manufacturing nor the
marketing of the units has ever been banned by the federal government which, of course, is the sole
authority which could regulate their interstate trade. The U.S. constitution forbids any state from
restricting imports from any other state. Currently, therefore, there often occur an unusual situation in
which the use if the radar detector sets may be illegal within a given state, but the sale of those sets is
not illegal and cannot be prohibited within that state.

Importance Of Social Entrepreneurship Essay
IS SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP THE BEST WAY TO HELP PEOPLE IN NEED?
Entrepreneurship is the process of designing, launching and running a new business while social
entrepreneurs launch the business and implement solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues
simultaneously. Bill Drayton once said, There is nothing more powerful than a new idea in the hands
of a social entrepreneur. In the world, there are billions of people have no access to education,
healthcare, clean drinking water, food and even the basic human rights and respect. Violence, poverty
and more global issues are at the alarm rate nowadays. These matters have to be tackled immediately
before it is too late to do so. In our opinion, social entrepreneurship is the best way to help the needy
and overcome the problem. New ideas, opportunities and technologies are sought in solving long
standing social problems. There is a good example to indicate our words, social entrepreneur in South
America, Steve Katsaros. Can you imagine what was life like when oil lamps and candles were all we
had to light our cities with? Indoors was just as treacherous as outdoors. Katsaros invented a solar
powered light bulb that provide isolated villages with power, thus bypassing the need to bring a power
infrastructure out to remote areas. It has brought a great change in their daily lives which allow people
to work, study and play at night without the use of kerosene lamps, which may pollute the
environment and arise the respiratory diseases such as asthma. Consequently, Katsaros was able to
bring convenience to the people while he can also stay in his business by selling the bulbs to the
people. (The Guardian, 2009)
To cite the saying that social entrepreneurship is the best way to help people in need, we would like to
provide an outstanding example of social enterprise which is Grameen Bank. Grameen Bank was
officially founded in 1983 by Muhammad Yunus and it provides small loans, rather than charity, to the
poorest of the poor especially women in Bangladesh. This indeed provides an opportunity for the
people to transform their lives. In 2006, Nobel Peace Prize was awarded to Muhammad Yunus and the
Grameen Bank for their efforts to create economic and social

The Epistemological Perspectives Of Positivism And Social...
1. The epistemological perspectives of positivism and social constructivism can often be seen as direct
opposed views on knowledge. A positivism approach involves accepting knowledge of things that
have been verified by the scientific method of formation and testing (Pool, 1999, Pg. 91). Positivists
focus on the falsification of things and insistence on their verification. Scientist, Karl Popper, brought
new ideals to this approach by making light on the fact it is not possible to prove something true, but it
can ultimately be proven true by never being proved false which can provide you with long term
approximations for knowledge. (Pool, 1999, Pg. 92). The social constructivism approach answers the

politics. With the word politics I am referring to the circulation of resources and power in a culture. I
also think it is important to define what I mean by culture. Culture can be well summarized as a way
of life or social norms that are developed by the traditions, values, religions, economy, and ethnicities

political technology. This is a technology that, appear to require or to be strongly compatible with

Retention In Nursing
An administrative problem as complex as recruitment and retention creates complex and long term
planning, implementation, monitoring, maintenance and considerable foresight to manage current
projects and project future needs. Many of the recommendations can begin immediately but the
measured results may not be seen for nearly a decade. Leadership in rural health settings fall under
two areas, just like the nurses that serve the same facilities; long term and those building a career.
Administrators and priorities can change, effecting the ultimate results due to reallocation of time,
talent and treasure. Staying the course on increasing rural nurse recruitment and retention is at the core
of the issue. Documented shortages have been discussed since the mid 1940 s (Fletcher, 1954) when

Age Of Earth
The age of the Earth can be accurately determined. Through various methods of relative dating, and
absolute radiometric dating, scientists can very precisely determine the age of the Earth. The key to
the age of our planet lies not in one evidence, but in the cross examination of multiple evidences. In
this paper, we will explore those evidences and find that the secret of Earth s age lives in the
relationship between them. By putting the pictures of fossils in chronological order in the activity

The hotpots create islands; and when the tectonic plates move, the island moves with it. This creates
an opening above the hotspot, which allows the hotspot to create more islands. The older the islands
are, the smaller they get because they have more time to be eroded. Also, the older the islands will be
further away from the hotspot because they have been on the tectonic plates longer and therefore have
had more time to move. This phenomena shows relative age because we can see the age of the Earth
through the size of the islands and the distance they are from the hotspot. In the third activity, we
found that mid ocean ridges are the birthing place of tectonic plates. The isochron map showed us that
the closer to the ridges, the younger the oceanic floor is. The closer to a continent, the older the rock
is. The reason for this is because the mid ocean ridges create crust, and where the oceanic crust meets
the continental crust, the crust is destroyed (subduction zone). This shows relative age because the
oceanic crust s age can be seen relative to the mid ocean ridges and the subduction

Review of Hotel Surya of Varanasi
A serene haven located in the majestic and holy land of Varanasi, Hotel Surya is a three star
accommodation, famous for its top notch amenities and facilities. Located in the heart of the city, on
the Mall Road at S20/51 A 5, Varuna Bridge, the hotel is easily accessible from the Lal Bahadur
Shastri International Airport, being favorably located at a distance of around 20km. Further, the hotel
lies in the immediate vicinity of the Varanasi Junction Railway station, being situated at a distance of

The extremely convenient and justified pricing slabs of its deluxe and premium rooms make it all the
more attractive. The deluxe rooms are available for Rs.1800 per night while the tariff of premium

The ideal time to visit the city would be with the onset of winters, that is, from October to March.
Although the temperature dips drastically, the cool winds are more pleasant than the hot bearing Sun
of the summers. It has its own comfortable indoor Canton Royale restaurant whose lip smacking
offerings span from Indian and Chinese specialties to Mexican and Italian cuisines. It also has an
outdoor MangiFerra Café, whose offerings include juice, smoothies and snacks. Its funky Sol Bar acts
as an added advantage which offers appetizers and drinks, giving the perfect ambience. In addition,
the hotel provides local shopping opportunities through its cute boutique

Mass Density Of An Unknown Metal Essay
The goal of this experiment was to determine the mass density of an unknown metal. Five different
vernier capillaries and double pan balances were used to measure the metal. The plan of action was to
find the average density to reduce random error, in addition to, calculating the standard error to
observe the reliability of proposed average. Ideally, the metal would identify more comparably with
gold or aluminum. The concepts of mass density, standard error, average, one dimensional statistics,
precision / accuracy, and test of accuracy were explored. A hollow cylinder of metal was given to each
lab group. Initially, the mass of the metal was determined with a double pan balance. The metal was
placed on the balance and the instrument s notch and slider was used to interpret the mass. The next
step was determining the inner radius, outer radius and height of the cylinder to find the volume. A
vernier caliper was used to measure those components. The vernier caliper included an inner and outer
jaw that measures length. The results of the double pan balance and vernier caliper was recorded in a
data sheet, and the procedure was repeated five times with different instruments. The data was placed
in an excel file where the mass density, average, standard error, test of accuracy, and general
comparison with the two proposed metals (gold and aluminum) could be analyzed. Table 1 Five
Measurements of Unknown Metal. Table contains the five measurements of the hollow

The Importance Of Characterism In White Fang By Jack London
In White Fang is a fiction story. It was written by the American author, Jack London. This book has an
abundance of importance because of what it covers while you are reading it. It shows the challenges of
life being in the Yukon. The book White Fang also shows how harsh nature can be and how the human

though it is a place full of beauty there are a large number of ways you can be killed there. In 1896,
Gold was discovered and people swarmed in looking to strike it rich. This only lasted a couple of
years and people left. The last section in the novel is taking place in California. This setting is very
much warmer than the Yukon. It was also less harsh of a place. The point of view in White Fang is

Personal Narrative Essay On Gymnastics
My brain goes silent. I forget my problems, my issues, my struggles, and everything that makes me
feel dead inside. Nothing gives me more hope and happiness, then running on floor to hanging on a
bar. From the darkness inside comes a light that feels like an eternal flame that can never be
extinguished. Nothing can stop me from feeling more alive. Starting gymnastics has been the best
decision I have ever made and has made me the person I am today. With every move, every skill, and
every moment, gymnastics makes me feel alive.
Ever since I was six, I have been doing gymnastics. I started when I said to my mother I want to do
that with my high pitched little kid voice as I watched the gymnasts fly around the bar. My little sister
had started me on the path of gymnastics because, ironically my sister wanted to do gymnastics and I
never planned on it. As my mom parked the car, all I could see was this tall and large building made of
bricks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using my old experience and old habits I had become just as good or even better than before. As I was
on the freshman team for gymnastics, I had brushed off the rustiness from the break that I had taken.
Even though the sport is as not tough and rough as club, I still felt the rush that I did before. As I take
the skills and lessons that I learned from club gymnastics, I still work just as hard and have just as
much fun. As freshman year continued, I started to remember the habits and the reasons why I loved
this sport. With a different coach and new teammates, I still felt at home. Jumping back onto the
equipment was like riding a bike, even though I was a little rusty at first, I will always remember what
was taught to me. Throughout freshman year I have improved and grown potential that I hope to apply
later in life and later in gymnastics. I push for new skills and moves every day, but most importantly
the sport makes me feel

The Selma-Montgomery March Essay
The Selma Montgomery March
The Civil Rights Movement began in order to bring equal rights and equal voting rights to black
citizens of the US. This was accomplished through persistent demonstrations, one of these being the
Selma Montgomery March. This march, lead by Martin Luther King Jr., targeted at the
disenfranchisement of negroes in Alabama due to the literacy tests. Tension from the governor and
state troopers of Alabama led the state, and the whole nation, to be caught in the violent chaos caused
by protests and riots by marchers. However, this did not prevent the March from Selma to
Montgomery to accomplish its goals abolishing the literacy tests and allowing black citizens the right
to vote.

The brutality from this event can be summarized by one marcher who was reported saying, My God,
we re being killed. This malevolent act sent the entire nation in an uproar, sparking riots in major US
cites and even in Toronto. The protests and riots gained so much popular support as to gain the
attention of President Lyndon B. Johnson, who declared that he deplored the brutality. King was also
determined to march from Selma to Montgomery in order to present the governor with the proposal
for voting rights and to continue fighting the oppression ( Central Point 24).
March 16 saw a demonstration in Montgomery, Alabama in which 580 demonstrators planned to
march from the Jackson Street Baptist Church to the Montgomery County Courthouse (Reed 26).
These protestors included a large number of northern college students. They met a police line a few
blocks from the Courthouse and were forbidden from proceeding because they did not have a parade
permit (Reed 26). Across the street came 40 or so students who planned on joining the group en route
to the Courthouse. Eventually a few of the demonstrators dared to cross the street, led by James
Forman who had organized the march. When it seemed the whole group would cross, police took
action, with mounted officers and volunteers arriving at 1:12 pm. Riding into the small group of
protestors, they forced most to withdraw, but a few stood fast around a utility pole where horsemen
began to beat them. A posseman

Survival In Auschwitz Essay Imagine now a man who is deprived of everyone he loves, and at the same time of his house, his habits, his clothes, in short, of everything he possesses: he will be a hollow man, reduced to suffering and needs, forgetful of dignity and restraint, for he who loses all often easily loses himself. This short quote is taken from Primo Levi s Survival in Auschwitz . It depicts a true story of Primo Levi during the Holocaust, who was relocated to an extermination camp after beginning a great life after college. Primo was captured with a resistant group from Italy. He used his college education and degree in chemistry to stay alive. The above quote brings a similar quote to mind. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After the liberation of Auschwitz, Primo again had nothing. Necessities and goods were furnished throughout his life and now Primo had to start all over. He had nothing except for life, something most people who walked through the front gates of Auschwitz lost. Jesus Christ lived a similar life many, many years before. He lived his young adulthood life teaching the people of the world about God and humanity. He cherished his life and the life of others. He respected all living things and tried to help them live a non sinful life. He too was deprived of things near the end of his life. Like Primo, Jesus was convicted of what he thought and spoke of and was killed. The main difference between the two men is that Jesus lost his life. Jesus though had a second chance as he was later resurrected from hell and brought into heaven. There he again helped the people of the world. Furthermore, both of these men were convicted of religious believes and ripped away of their lives. Even though Primo died many years after his stay at Auschwitz, he was never the same before that. He will be a man whose life and death can be lightly decided with no sense of human affinity, in the most fortunate of cases, on the basis of a pure judgment of utility. It is in the way that one can understand the double sense of the term, extermination camp, and it is now clear what we seek to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

People are curious in seeing what type of restaurant you like because when revealing that information it tells more about you than you think. When telling somebody where you enjoy eating it gives them a sense of how much you re willing to spend for a good meal, what side of town you like to go to and even gives them a slight glance at your personality. There are so many different restaurants serving so many different types of food. There are Chinese restaurants, Japanese restaurants, Classic American restaurants, Italian restaurants, it makes it difficult to decide what to eat at dinner time. What gives a restaurant the upper hand over its competition? The Cheesecake factory has some key strengths that keeps it running at a high level. The Cheesecake Factory has a low employee turnover rate. That means that once they hire somebody the person usually keeps the job for a long time. Of course you have situations and instances where some employees have to be let go for whatever reason, but when you check your numbers as to how many had to go verses how many are still working in good standings, you have to tip your hat to your employment staff. Another strength of the Cheesecake Factory is that they have such a large variety of dishes and desserts. Variety is key when in the restaurant business because many times there are so many other restaurant that are serving the same style, if not the same exact dishes as you. The Cheesecake factory have hundreds of different cheesecakes to choose from. You will not find another restaurant with that much variety in their desserts. Wiesel does not understand how if God, The Almighty , was real with the greatest power how he could allow the burning and killing of so many innocent people and if He was then Elie would no longer want to praise someone of that much cruelty. Later Wiesel gives a greater example of how he loses his faith in god. And I, the former mystic, was thinking: Yes, man is stronger, Greater than God. When Adam and Eve deceived You, You chased them from paradise, when You displeased by Noah s generation, You brought down the flood... But look at these men whom You have betrayed, allowing them to be tortured, slaughtered, gassed, and burned, what do they do? They pray before you! (Wiesel 68). As we shift from consuming the foods produced on our own land to store bought items, we are beginning to rely more on natural and artificial products to keep the food we consume visually appealing and to prolong decomposition by microbes. In order to achieve this, companies and individuals alike have turned to the preservative qualities natural substances provide to ensure the extended duration of their food. Most commonly, we see the use of salt, sugar, acetic acid, citric acid, and extracts in the preservation of goods. The use of salt as a preservative dates back to ... It s referred as the chemical equation H2O. Oxygen atom has 6 electrons in its outer shell and it is in the group six in the periodic table. Hydrogen atom has one electron in its outer shell and can form only one bond. Water is tasteless, Odorless, and colorless and It has a molar mass of 18.01 g/mol. Everything is made of atoms, which is the smallest particle of an element (Introductory Chemistry, Steven S. Zumdahi and Donald J). The oxygen atom also called the apex of the water molecule bears a slight electronegative charge while hydrogen possesses a more positive one (Kirk 225). Because of the opposite charges attract, the water molecules are drawn together. When an oxygen atom is linked to a molecule s hydrogen atom, a bond called a hydrogen bond is formed (Kirk 256). Hydrogen and oxygen would like to have stable electron configurations but do not as individual atoms. They can do it by sharing electrons throughout covalent bonds. First, a witch had confessed that before going off on their meetings, they (the witches) anoint themselves with a special oyl that was brought to them by a spirit and that it assisted them on their journey with the devil to Sabbat, a place filled with merriment where their desires were being fulfilled. In fact, the first few lines make the reader expect the opposite of what the poem is going to suggest. This surprise becomes important for a piece that is orally performed because it generates attention, which creates an appeal to the ear and perception of linear succession (Pfeiffjer 3). Sappho, cutting against the harsh beauty of the military, reveals that it is what one most loves that is the most beautiful. This exclamation of love makes the reader expect an immediate explanation of who or what Sappho places this love in, but it is not revealed until later in the poem. Surprise combines with suspense and from the moment Sappho begins, the audience expects her object of love to be revealed (Pfeiffjer 3). There is, however, a difference between the two translations. • 29. Strategic Challenges For Local Communities Strategic Challenges for Local Communities The Department of Homeland Security released the 2014 Quadrennial Homeland Security Review on June 18, 2014 as required by the Homeland Security Act of 2002 and its amendments. This review outlined the current state of preparedness, as well as the future areas of concentration. It also determined six strategic challenges facing the nation: terrorist threat; growing cyber threats; biological concerns as a whole; nuclear terrorism; transnational criminal organizations; and natural hazards. The basic building block of emergency management in the U.S. is the local community. Each step begins here. Threat assessments are completed on the local level. Planning, mitigation, and response are all responsibilities of the local community to support the state and Federal practice using the guidance provided by both. One of the best guidance documents for these communities is the Comprehensive Preparedness Guide 201 (CPG201). In this guide, communities will complete the Threat and Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment. The THIRA has a detailed four step process in developing a robust Risk Assessment to allow the community to develop its plans. The first step is to identify the threats and hazards of concern to the community. Some of the challenges described by the Department of Homeland Security may not be applicable to the community or may pose extremely limited threat. • 30. Customer Relationship Management ( Crm ) Businesses in today s world face many obstacles on the road to success. They have to have sound business plans, solid product or services to offer, and they have to generate revenue to keep their businesses running. In order to achieve these things, a business needs to know what the customer wants from them. Many companies have come to realize that customers and the service they receive are very important in expanding their brand. Because of that recognition, most businesses of the twenty first century have developed customer relationship management (CRM) initiatives to better relate to their customer bases. What does customer relationship management (CRM) mean? Kurtz defines CRM as a set of strategies and tools that companies use to learn about customers (Kurtz, 2015, pg. 211). One strategy that companies use is training their employees in customer service and customer appreciation techniques. A company s employee is often the first point of contact for many customers, either in the business to business world or in the consumer marketplace. In this regard, an employee can be considered as the face of the company for that customer. So, a well trained employee in consumer relations can lead to huge dividends down the road for that company. Another key CRM approach is the efforts of businesses to enter the social media world. Social media has allowed customers to provide instant feedback about the goods and services they received. In the past, a company only had to worry ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also to blame, in many instances, are the design of the highway, the condition of the weather, the maintenance of the vehicle, the time of the day (many severe accidents occur at dusk, with poor lighting and tired drivers), and the presence of radar detectors. A study by the Ohio State Police found that radar detectors were present in at least one of the vehicles involved in 69% of all severe traffic accidents on the highways of that state in 2005. Studies in other states have confirmed that finding, with some estimates of the relationship running as high as 75%. The use of radar detectors is illegal in many if not most states, but neither the manufacturing nor the marketing of the units has ever been banned by the federal government which, of course, is the sole authority which could regulate their interstate trade. • 35. Importance Of Social Entrepreneurship Essay IS SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP THE BEST WAY TO HELP PEOPLE IN NEED? Entrepreneurship is the process of designing, launching and running a new business while social entrepreneurs launch the business and implement solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues simultaneously. Bill Drayton once said, There is nothing more powerful than a new idea in the hands of a social entrepreneur. In the world, there are billions of people have no access to education, healthcare, clean drinking water, food and even the basic human rights and respect. Violence, poverty and more global issues are at the alarm rate nowadays. These matters have to be tackled immediately before it is too late to do so. In our opinion, social entrepreneurship is the best way to help the needy and overcome the problem. New ideas, opportunities and technologies are sought in solving long standing social problems. There is a good example to indicate our words, social entrepreneur in South America, Steve Katsaros. Can you imagine what was life like when oil lamps and candles were all we had to light our cities with? Indoors was just as treacherous as outdoors. Katsaros invented a solar powered light bulb that provide isolated villages with power, thus bypassing the need to bring a power infrastructure out to remote areas. It has brought a great change in their daily lives which allow people to work, study and play at night without the use of kerosene lamps, which may pollute the environment and arise the respiratory diseases such as asthma. Consequently, Katsaros was able to bring convenience to the people while he can also stay in his business by selling the bulbs to the people. (The Guardian, 2009) To cite the saying that social entrepreneurship is the best way to help people in need, we would like to provide an outstanding example of social enterprise which is Grameen Bank. Grameen Bank was officially founded in 1983 by Muhammad Yunus and it provides small loans, rather than charity, to the poorest of the poor especially women in Bangladesh. This indeed provides an opportunity for the people to transform their lives. The epistemological perspectives of positivism and social constructivism can often be seen as direct opposed views on knowledge. A positivism approach involves accepting knowledge of things that have been verified by the scientific method of formation and testing (Pool, 1999, Pg. 91). Positivists focus on the falsification of things and insistence on their verification. Scientist, Karl Popper, brought new ideals to this approach by making light on the fact it is not possible to prove something true, but it can ultimately be proven true by never being proved false which can provide you with long term approximations for knowledge. This being said, engineering is a key aspect of the company being able to create the most technologically advanced aircraft, with the best capabilities, while managing affordability. I believe these aircraft are a great example for showing how technology can have politics. With the word politics I am referring to the circulation of resources and power in a culture. I also think it is important to define what I mean by culture. Culture can be well summarized as a way of life or social norms that are developed by the traditions, values, religions, economy, and ethnicities particular to a geographical region. The key to the age of our planet lies not in one evidence, but in the cross examination of multiple evidences. In this paper, we will explore those evidences and find that the secret of Earth s age lives in the relationship between them. By putting the pictures of fossils in chronological order in the activity Using Fossils to Tell Deep Time , we discovered that fossils can be a valuable tool in relative dating. This creates an opening above the hotspot, which allows the hotspot to create more islands. The older the islands are, the smaller they get because they have more time to be eroded. Also, the older the islands will be further away from the hotspot because they have been on the tectonic plates longer and therefore have had more time to move. This phenomena shows relative age because we can see the age of the Earth through the size of the islands and the distance they are from the hotspot. In the third activity, we found that mid ocean ridges are the birthing place of tectonic plates. The isochron map showed us that the closer to the ridges, the younger the oceanic floor is. The closer to a continent, the older the rock is. The reason for this is because the mid ocean ridges create crust, and where the oceanic crust meets the continental crust, the crust is destroyed (subduction zone). Five different vernier capillaries and double pan balances were used to measure the metal. The plan of action was to find the average density to reduce random error, in addition to, calculating the standard error to observe the reliability of proposed average. Ideally, the metal would identify more comparably with gold or aluminum. The concepts of mass density, standard error, average, one dimensional statistics, precision / accuracy, and test of accuracy were explored. A hollow cylinder of metal was given to each lab group. Initially, the mass of the metal was determined with a double pan balance. The metal was placed on the balance and the instrument s notch and slider was used to interpret the mass. The next step was determining the inner radius, outer radius and height of the cylinder to find the volume. A vernier caliper was used to measure those components. The vernier caliper included an inner and outer jaw that measures length. The results of the double pan balance and vernier caliper was recorded in a data sheet, and the procedure was repeated five times with different instruments.
