Where Aliens Came From
Many news of mysteries on our planet is still not yet clarified by experts to us. Some of this news are
about how Earth was formed and others are nature related. But most of the unexplained news is about
the aliens . Questions of where aliens came from? Why they are visiting our planet? Will they invade
us?
Many conspiracy theorists say that they have proof that aliens do visit and live on our planet. Some of
these proofs are the Madonna and Child painting, the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Nazca Lines, and
others. And just recently, another buzz of aliens stopover was seen by many circling around their area.
According to The Sun, a video footage of two strange lights moving in a synchronized motion above
the sky was shared by residents online

Christine Ardans Research Paper
Almost every person has someone whom they admire and respect the most in the world. Regardless of
who it is people tend to look up to someone they believe is superior or have aspects of which they
enjoy. Be it because of fame, beauty, intelligence, history or something of the same form it is typical
for people to have at least one person. Though I may be calculated into the mass of people who claim
a friend to be their most admired person, I believe that Christine Ardans is someone who I admire
most. I remember the first day I met her, she had already struck me as someone different and was not
someone you d typically meet on a normal day. Christine had a strong sense of ambition, had
intelligence, and had the kindest heart and she does to this day. She was like an undiscovered book, ...

She takes her own paths whether or not they affect you in any way. In high school, she never let
anyone cheat off of her, even if they just needed one answer that the teacher had already given them. I
highly admired this because I don t think cheating of any sort is okay. She would always deny
everyone regardless of them calling her a tightwad, and she wouldn t ever give into anyone just
because of a little taunting. I loved that about her because it made her gain more character and not
follow the flow of high school. She has strong ambition that never ceases to amaze me whenever she
needs to get something done. I remember in our junior year we had AP U.S history together in our
seventh period, and with all of her other difficult classes she could never start her history homework
until the day it was due. We had to read an entire chapter of about sixty pages each, and without fail,
every single time she turned in her homework and aced the chapter test that came the same day. It was
fascinating to watch and she inspired me to try my hardest as well as get everything done before hand
so I don t have to stress like she

How Have Families Changed Since The 1950 s
Families have definitely changed since the 1950 s. Fathers used to work and provide for the family.
Today, some fathers aren t even in their child s lives. I feel like people want what the TV show
families had, that aired in the 50 s. Fathers would make the money, while mothers would stay home,
take care of the kids, cook, clean and many other things. There are TV shows from the 50 s that show
what a family looked like back then. For example, Leave It to Beaver and Father Knows Best. Those
TV shows are completely different from TV shows about families today, like how they dressed, how
they talk, what the scenery/set look like. This topic intrigued me, because I used to watch a lot of TV
when I was younger. I would ask my grandparents why we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

You can see it through the TV that we watch. In the 1950 s, the families were so mature and
understanding of their kid s problems, helped them through them, and even go through tough
problems together. In 2018 on TV, it seems like the parents don t want to help the kids or even give
them attitude at times. Families on TV shows has changed over the years. I feel like if the directors
and producers would sit and watch a couple shows from the 50 s, maybe they would understand or
possibly change the TV show families in 2018. Add the typical families again. Some people would
quite enjoy that, I would and I know plenty others who would too. All my grandfather watches on TV
are reruns of Leave it to Beaver, M.A.S.H (which isn t about families much but still was made a long
time ago), I Love Lucy, and Gunsmoke (again not about families but he just enjoys them from back
then). We should bring back the old time TV shows about

A Research Study On Lyme Disease
Lyme Disease
1. My name is Thomas Porter and I am a rising senior at Hilliard Davidson High School. In the near
future, I hope to attend Ohio State University, Johns Hopkins University, or University of
Pennsylvania and study neuroscience or biomedical engineering. Currently, I am trying to build my
background in biomedical sciences and meet people with similar interests as me through the
Mechanisms of Human Health and Disease class. I hope to someday become a physician scientist
researching neuroplasticity.
I chose to study Lyme disease because it is a disease that is on the rise in the United States, despite
being somewhat easily preventable. In addition, the disease is very expensive, costing the United
States an estimated 1.3 billion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This paper will discuss the causes and symptoms of Lyme disease, as well as the molecular pathway
of its progression through three phases: the early localized stage, the early disseminated stage, and the
late disseminated stage.
3. In order to teach young kids about Lyme disease, I would use many visuals (such as pictures and
diagrams) and relatable comparisons.
For the disease background, I would start with a map of the United States and circle the most common
areas for Lyme disease occurrence, as well as Lyme, Connecticut, where the disease was first
discovered. I would then draw out a group of people who appear to be in pain, with swollen joints and
large rashes. These people would be examined by a doctor named Willy Burgdorfer, who discovers a
specific bacterium, Borrelia burgdorferi, that is causing their suffering (bayarealyme.org). To conclude
the background discussion, I would show the students maps that indicate the prevalence of Lyme
disease, and how they have changed from the 1980s to the present to reflect an increase in cases.
In order to show how the disease is contracted, I would reference a map of the United States and
review the most common areas for Lyme disease occurrence. I would proceed to discuss various
outdoor activities, which would allow the students to understand that Lyme disease can be picked up
during virtually any activity at the most

Content Based Information Retrieval (CBIR) is the field that constitutes representation of images,
organizing and searching of images based on their content rather than annotations of image. CBIR,
also known as query by image content and content based visual information retrieval (CBVIR) is the
application of computer vision techniques to the image retrieval problem, that is, the matter of
checking out digital pictures in massive databases.
Content based implies that the search analyzes the contents of the image based not on keywords,
descriptions related to image, tags or annotations but based on features extracted directly from the
image data. The term ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Images with higher similarity than threshold are returned as an output. System which uses the content
of the object for Information Retrieval is the CBIR.
There are many applications of Content Based Information Retrieval. Image retrieval is one of the
applications of CBIR. Few applications of CBIR are art collections, architectural and engineering
design, crime prevention, Defense, Face detection etc. Mostly CBIR is applied on the Multimedia
data.
CBIR faces some problems. The trouble with the technique is the issue of high dimensionality. With
the increase in the dimensionality CBIR becomes time consuming system and highly computation
bound. Also with variety of applications of CBIR, there is need to preserve the privacy of user interest.
A. Need of the Privacy Preservation in CBIR
Privacy can be outlined as The quality of being secluded from the presence or view of others . In
CBIR user provides some Multimedia object (e.g. an image of trademark to check whether the same

system must realize the similarity between user query and objects in the database. At this time system
gets the user query and query reveals the content and interest of the user and here is the privacy leak in
the system. Here the original trademark can be compromised or can be copied. Generally CBIR is

A Cubist Perspective of Shakespeare s A Midsummer Night s Dream
The great cycle of the ages is renewed. Now Justice returns, returns the Golden Age; a new generation
now descends from on high. Virgil, Eclogues 1.5
As Virgil stated so many years ago, history is a cyclical phenomenon. The experiences of one age tend
to be repeated in future generations. Knowing that, we should not be surprised to find the seeds of
modern styles and philosophies sprouting in earlier ages.
Elizabethan England was a society undergoing major social changes. In religion the country had
recently left the fold of Catholicism to establish the Church of England. While England during this
time was a major world power, she ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Cubist artist wanted to show multiple views of one object at the same time. This attempt to
represent multiple viewpoints simultaneously was opposed to the renaissance artist s attempt to
establish a single viewpoint#. In Midsummer Night s Dream, a play that belongs to the period of the
late renaissance, William Shakespeare has managed to incorporate the same elements we use to define
Cubist art.
As Alexander Leggatt points out, this play is divided into four different groups of characters; the
lovers, the older Athenian citizens, the fairies and the rude mechanics. # Each of these groups
proceeds through the play as a separate plane or playing field that intersects the other fields in
proscribed and largely ceremonial ways. The interaction of the different groups helps to define each
group and at the same time keeps them separate.
At the center of the play, the object which is divided up and examined in multiple perspectives is love.
The four groups each show a different aspect of love and the interaction within and among the groups

Archetypes In Wuthering Heights
Wuthering Heights is a novel wrote by Emily Bronte about tragic and gothic romance. One of the
most famous character in the book was Heathcliff, a tortured anti hero. This essay will talk about one
type of archetype in the story tortured anti hero Heathcliff and how his personalities affected the story.
Heathcliff is an orphan brought to live at Wuthering Heights by Mr. Earnshaw, Heathcliff falls into an
intense, unbreakable love with Mr. Earnshaw s daughter Catherine. After Mr. Earnshaw dies, his
resentful son Hindley abuses Heathcliff and treats him as a servant. Catherine marries Edgar Linton

us, you, of your own will, did it. I have not broken your heart you have broken it; and in breaking it,
you have broken mine. So much the worse for me, that I am strong. Do I want to live? What kind of
living will it be when you oh, God! would you like to live with your soul in the grave? . What actually
made him a tortured anti hero is how people around him treated him, made him to find a way to rescue
himself. The reason why he is not considering as bad or good is because he is just doing what he needs
to do save his soul and peace. He is acting cruel in fact he is asking for help from others, asking for
passionate from Catherine which he ll never granted. Heathcliff, however, defies being understood,
and it is difficult for readers to resist seeing what they want or expect to see in him. The novel teases
the reader with the possibility that Heathcliff is something other than what he seems that his cruelty is
merely an expression of his frustrated love for Catherine, or that his sinister behaviors serve to conceal
the heart of a romantic hero. We expect Heathcliff s character to contain such a hidden virtue because
he resembles a hero in a romance

once in their life, I m sure you can remember when you were a kid adoring animals behind glass. But
you were missing the point the big picture.
Animals need freedom it s like being locked in a jail cell. Animals can t do there wild life features

Effects Of Artificial Lighting On Sea Turtle Populations
Barbara Garrow
Effects of Artificial Lighting on Sea Turtle Populations
Abstract
Significant numbers of sea turtles from around the world nest on Florida beaches, although, the human
population of Florida happens to be extremely concentrated around coastal areas as well. The
development of coasts brings an increase in artificial light, which can be quite the problem for nesting
sea turtles. The development and increase in artificial light has contributed greatly to the decline of
populations in recent years (Conserve Sea Turtles). Artificial lighting has a detrimental effect on sea
turtle reproduction in many different ways. For instance, lighting can cause the turtles to avoid nesting
in the area because they consider it bad habitat. Even if they decide to nest there, there is still the
chance that their nests may potentially fail (Salmon 2003). Nestlings will often deter their emergence
from the nest in the presence of artificial lighting (Salmon). If the nestlings hatch, they begin the
process of locating the ocean from the nest, called seafinding . This task is accomplished mostly
visually. An effect called hatchling disorientation occurs when hatchlings become disoriented and
wander the opposite direction and inland, which then often leads to them to die of dehydration or
predation (Witherington 2003). According to scientists, hatchlings have an innate instinct that leads
them in the brightest direction , which is usually moon light creating light by

The Super Bowl- Human Trafficking
Human trafficking is modern day slavery, which leads to kidnapping, drugs, forced sex, forced labor
or death. Consequently, many victims which include men as well as women and children from all the
countries are being kidnapped, bought and sold against their will, which are odious crimes in the 21st

the largest human trafficking incident in the United States. The notice contains an extemporaneous
photo of a woman who runs through a tunnel towards the light. A21 organization strongly believes
there are no unscathed people around the world, therefore human beings should work together, and
consequently the human trafficking will end. The art director of the poster is unknown; the available

Analysis of the European Union’s Role as a Model...
Intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) are defined by Kegley (2009) as institutions created and
joined by states governments, which give them authority to make collective decisions to manage
particular problems on the global agenda (p. 163). The purpose of IGOs is to solve shared problems on
the basis of involving states interests. In other words, states utilize community of interest to balance
the international situation between neighborhoods. According to Kegley (2009), a global trend in
world politics is the spectacular growth of IGOs. The European Union, as an example of IGOs, is the
globe s best success story among the other regional IGOs playing global roles (Kegley, 2009).

Death By Sophocles And The Holy Bible
Death is a very popular theme in world literature; authors seem to feed off the anguish it causes
readers. However, there are many types of deaths from many different eras. For example, in its
broadest sense death has two forms homicide and suicide. Homicide for instance, dates all the way
back to the two earliest works of literature known to man; The Epic of Gilgamesh and The Holy Bible.
Suicide is also ancient, but has a much darker feel to it. Despite death being universal throughout time,
there are some striking similarities in today s world. Firstly, the story of Antigone, written by
Sophocles in 441 B.C., is the epitome of literary death. One of the main homicides in the story is the
main character s brother, Polynices. In summary, King Oedipus had four children Antigone, Ismene,
Polynices, and Eteocles. Moreover, upon the king s death it was decided that his sons would cycle
leadership each year. However, Eteocles refused to step down, and after a fierce duel, both brothers
were dead. Furthermore, this makes Polynices death an honorable death in battle. Polynices died
fighting for something he believed in and while essentially fighting a war. In modern day, this death is
comparable to that of a solider. The United States has lost many brave men and women over time in
the line of duty. Furthermore, all of these individuals died fighting for what they believed in: the safety
and security of the United States. Towards the end of the story, one death causes a domino

Understanding why children misbehave
All children test the limits you set and try to cross boundaries some of the time.
This is an inevitable part of growing up, learning and becoming an independent person. Younger
children particularly may test constantly. This is not them being naughty or disobedient it is the only
way they can learn when you mean what you say and what the limits to their behaviour are.
Attention seeking
Children will do just about anything to get the attention they crave from their parents.

Armenian Genocide Essay
The world becomes a better place when there is humanity. Humanity exists when there are people who
have the desire to give, instead of take. When these generous people give without the expectation of
taking back, the world automatically offers them the better. There was poverty in all the villages of
Armenia. Armenian Christians were continuously under attacks. The attacks against Christian
Armenians occurred throughout the year 1915. This is the age that is well known for the Armenian
Genocide, which was carried out by the Ottoman Turks. Escaping the Ottoman forces, my
grandmother, Sosek Boghosian, found herself as a refuge in Iraq. Horrific acts continued to be
committed to my grandmother s descendants.
Many people had no place to live or sleep. I have interviewed my grandmother to make myself more
educated about the Armenian Genocide. She contributed to the Armenian culture in many different
ways. Mrs. Boghosian studied about the genocide from her beloved mother. Following her mother s
footsteps, she became more generous day by day. She contributed to the Armenian Culture by teaching
her children and grandchildren how to help one another. This was followed by donating food, clothes
and shelter for the kids in orphanages. These unfortunate children lost their guardians in the genocide,
along with 1.5 million other deaths.
The Armenian people lived in a very safe environment until some obstacles beset them. When the

Descartes Mind and Body
Descartes Mind Body Dualism
Rene Descartes main purpose is to attempt to prove that the mind that is the soul or the thinking thing
is distinct and is separate from the body. This thinking thing was the core of himself, which doubts,
believes, reasons, feels and thinks. Descartes considers the body to be an extended unthinking thing;
therefore it is possible that one may exist without the other. This view is known as mind body dualism.
He believes that what he is thinking in his mind is what God created and instilled in him. Descartes
outlines many arguments to support and prove his claims of his discoveries. He states that because he
can think, his mind exists. This is known as the Cogito, which is the first existential principal of ...

It does not rule out other possibilities, such as waking up to find oneself to be not a human but a
different form of life. Therefore the statement of the body is too broad to specifically identify as being
in human form. Also, it should be noted that the Cogito only works for the thought. It cannot be used
in a sense that, I can walk or sleep therefore I exist since I can doubt these actions carried out by the
body. The reason why a person cannot doubt itself is because the doubt is in a form of a thought in
ones mind, not an action of our body.
Descartes discusses that physical objects are more known distinctly through the mind than through the
body and explains his reason further in the Wax Argument. The Wax Argument describes how
Descartes wanted to show that we come to know things using the intellectual parts of our brain rather
than through our senses. Basically, Descartes is trying to prove that we know the mind truly better
than anything else, like our bodies and the world outside of the mind. This argument begins by
describing the process of change by which solid wax melts until it has changed its phase of matter to
form a liquid puddle. Descartes describes the wax uses his senses as he says, Its color, shape, and size
are manifest. It is hard and cold; it is easy to touch. If you wrap it with your knuckle it will emit a
sound. In short, everything is present in that it appears

Sour Patch Kids
Music is an aspect of every culture that is used to connect its people and bring the group together.
Essentially, every culture has their own unique genre of music. The question of what is good music, is
an intriguing one because the answer to this question varies from culture to culture. Even within a
culture, the musical preferences change based on the individual. For this What is good music project, I
chose the song Sour Patch Kids, by Bryce Vine, because this song exemplifies a few things that I look
for when determining good music.
I first found this song a couple of summers ago, when my friend Joey showed it to me. Instantly, I

To start off, I really enjoy the beat that Bryce uses on this track. This song features an upbeat rhythm,
and the lyrics compliment the beat. The entire song is supposed to deliver a nostalgic feel to the
listener. Throughout the song, He incorporates popular themes from his childhood into the lyrics, and
the music video features these themes throughout. For me, I think the nostalgic theme works well with
this song. It provides a happy, carefree feeling to the listener. When I listen to this song, it personally
brings back feeling and memories from the summer I was shown it. Because of this, I believe the
nostalgic theme of the song is a good fit. Another reason this is good music is because of the lyrics.
These lyrics break away from the typical stereotype that is expected from rap/hip hop music. It seems
that recently, few popular songs have lyrics with meaning. Most feature lyrics that will appeal to the
masses to sell the most records. This is where Bryce Vine differentiates himself from these artists. His
lyrics share stories and experiences from his life, and are very personalized for the listener. I recently
went to one of his concerts he had in East Lansing, and when he performed Sour Patch Kids, the entire
crowd was singing along, and was brought together. This experience exemplifies what Bryce Vine s
music is all about; connecting people and delivering quality

Stress is like a nagging sister. Disclaimer: not saying I have one of these or anything.
She pulls our hair, pokes us when we re concentrating, and to reflect a bit, embarrassed us when we
brought a new date home in high school.
The effects stress has on you both mentally and physically is killing you.
A day in the not so distant past, I was a part of the re stocking initiative (sound fancy?) to replace the
wheels and brakes for an A320. This project was a little shy of $100,000 and had several risky
obstacles to stay on budget.
One of these obstacles was dealing with a new third party to handle repairs. If you know me, any new
third party makes me sweat. With no history, we had no true knowledge of how they did things. It was
a gamble.
2 weeks pass with several updates along the way. On the 14th day of the second week we called to
check up on things, you know, the nosy in your face check up. They claimed that our account manager
was fired and they never received our purchase order.
I about blew a gasket.
They went on to tell our

Evil enters like a needle and spreads like an oak tree , such a broad statement with a very powerful
meaning. This quote is showing that evil comes in small and possibly not even seen or expected. If
allowed it will spread like a wildfire and destroying anything in its path making it impossible to put it
out and to many people and issues feed into it. The origin of Evil enters like a needle and spreads like
an oak tree comes from Ethiopia and it was based on the fall of their economy. In 1916 Ethiopia s
leader was ripped from power and the refugees demanded that all religion was stopped, economic
issues grew over 85%, and the whole atmosphere was shifted that day. Upcoming this very powerful

Back then it was a very strong ordeal, race came in like a virus and spread like one to. This is shown
when, But by the time of Bacon s rebellion in the mid 1670s an insurrection involving white and black
servants against wealthy virginia planters the status of Africans began to change. Racial issues in
America became so common and overpowering it was overlooked by whites and swept under the rug
for blacks. The hate here it wasn t the way it entered but the way it was spread and once it begun it
couldn t really be stopped. Sometimes when people point out an issue, no matter what power the
obtain, they are still questioned and shot down at any point given. This is shown in, And it was
curious, and hurtful, that Obama responded at times to the criticism by scolding black folk in public
for making excuses he said were holding them back. When the president of the time spoke out on the
racial issue he came across like he was giving sympathy to black men and woman for not making
anything of themselves but to others he came across like he was shooting african americans down for
not standing up. No matter the way he might have wanted it to come across, the issue still continued
and in some areas it increased. When the Civil War was taken place race was in the middle of their
battle. That surfaces in, A growing group of Americans spoke out against inequality and injustice

Stuttering In The King s Speech
The King s Speech (2010) follows King George VI, referred to as Bertie throughout the film, as he
seeks stuttering treatment while managing his increasing responsibilities in the years preceding World
War II. One of the ongoing thematic elements of The King s Speech was Bertie s on going struggle
with his self confidence and self worth, especially as the looming responsibilities of kingship magnify
his feelings of inadequacy. It was interesting to contrast Bertie s self perception to the manner in
which his stuttering was perceived by those around him. In a few instances, Bertie mentions that his
stuttering has always been particularly difficult when speaking with his father and older brother. In
one of the few scenes with King George V, the King is seen as being extremely strict with Bertie.
While he initially tries to encourage Bertie by stating public speaking is a matter of practice, this
attempt at encouragement rapidly devolved into openly berating Bertie. Almost immediately upon
sitting down, the King instructed Bertie to sit up straight, to get it out , and even at one point angrily
tells his son to relax. A second scene involved Bertie stating that his brother, Edward, was prone to
mocking his stuttering and was even encouraged to do so by their father. As adults, Edward resorts to
mocking Bertie when faced with criticism. Given the negative attitudes of his family members
towards his stuttering, it is understandable that these attitudes contributed so

Spotted Tailed Quoll Research Paper
Helena Czekalski May 18th, 2018 3rd The spotted tailed quoll is an Australia native carnivore that
inhabits wet forests and eats mostly species like snakes and lizards. As a carnivore, they use their teeth
to slice meat off their prey, and communicate using series of hissing and screeching noises. The
spotted tailed quoll is brown with white spots on it s torso and tail. Because if it s short legs, they run
slower than most quolls. Males are larger than females but there is almost no difference in appearance.
Spotted tailed quolls have two subspecies, the Dasyurus maculatus maculatus and the Dasyurus
maculatus gracilis. Both subspecies of the spotted tailed quoll are categorized as near threatened by
the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, but the species as a whole were classified as
Vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, following dramatic population losses. The Wildscreen Arkive states

app which added value to their customers in a way of saving time, eliminating cash or card and easy
access to discounts or loyalty points.
However, all strategy that have been discussed before seems usual and not unique. I recommended
Maxx to build a street light that transformed into an oversized carafe pouring a cup of coffee. By this
strategy, I believe that, this will attract a lot of people that are passing by the street. This will result to
the increment of the number of customer that will come to Maxx Coffee.
Another strategy that I recommended is using a QR Code that can use for customer to trade with
prizes in the unique vending machine. When the customers make a purchase from Maxx, then they
will receive a receipt with the QR Code printed on it. They can use the QR code once to trade with the
prizes in the vending machine. Moreover, he can try to collaborate with Niantic Company to create a

1. What is BI and how can it help Canadian Tire? In the case there are 10 common challenges of BI
implementations, which of these would you rate as most important for Eubanks and Wnek at CTC,
and why? How would you address them? Business Intelligence (BI) is the consolidation and analysis
of internal data and / or external data for the purpose of effective decision making. At the core of all
BI initiatives is a data warehouse to hold the data and analytics software. The data warehouse stores
data from operational systems in the organization and restructures it to enable queries and models to
extract decision support reports. The primary objective of BI was to support and enable business and

3. Compare the exhibits that depict the current versus the future desired BI infrastructure. What
challenges exist for the implementation of the BI initiative?
Fig: Current BI Environment In this figure, there are two sources of information for business: 1).
Information from IW, which has passed through the ETL process before it goes to the end users. 2.)
Information from independent data sources, which is processed by different standards. This is counter
to the strategic goal of eliminating duplication of analysis, reporting and ad hoc analysis. This
environment consumes more time for business users to understand end user data, and more money for
the firm which is wasted on different and possibly conflicting results.
Fig: Future BI Environment
This figure illustrates the future of BI for CTC. Independent data sources have been incorporated into
a single BI system, within a global data model. All data will be loaded into corporate EDW via ETL.
The EDW will feed the financial data mart for enterprise performance management, so business users
will be able to conduct planning and budgeting functions. On the right side of the EDW, BI specialists
will assist in organizing data marts into four categories: Supply Chain, Vendor,

An Explanation of the Scientific Importance of the Human Genome Project
The human genome project is an international effort that serves as a possible solution to the many
diseases that affect billions of people worldwide. This project is a great milestone in the field of
genetics as it allows scientists to determine the sequence of genes in chromosomes which will show
where disease causing mutations are occurring and what can be done to reverse it. Looking back in
time, many of the diseases which could be cured were done by administering drugs and certain types
of therapies. As the complexity of technology as well as advancements in the understanding of our
bodies increased, more diseases became curable through these very drugs and therapies. However,
many times individuals find it hard to deal with the side effects that these solutions create. The human
genome project aims to make disease and illnesses curable more efficiently and to become readily
available to individuals throughout the world. It is therefore necessary the that society begins to accept
this project as the new frontier in medical treatment and prevention of diseases. By having a greater
investment and understanding in the Human genome Project, the scientific community will determine
more information about DNA to develop treatment plans, prevention methods, and develop cures to
diseases that affect humans; thus yielding medically important information for society. When
attempting to understand what the

Burial Practices Of Neanderthal Usuals
INTRODUCTION
Throughout our lives, we have buried our dead. It is a normal process, embedded into our culture
since, to what seems so to us at least, the beginning. However, we never thought to ask ourselves
when actually this practice began. Also we never thought to ask if we were the only ones to entomb
our dead in a ritualistic way. There is evidence of our distant cousins Homo neanderthalensis, or
Neanderthal, exhibit similar burial practices that we do to this day. Neanderthal sites often have
artifacts and possible different burial practices which can means that they have the ability to do
ritualistic burials. They are one of the links that may play a huge role in understanding our past, and
how our concept of death and the treatment of them began. The topic of burying the dead is a big
subject being because it is proof of some higher thought in our ancestors. One of the major questions
of human evolution is when we gained the ability to conduct more complex and advance thought. By
understanding our past we can have a better understanding of our future. If we understood how our
minds developed and formed we may be able to better predict where it is going or at the least
understand how our brains came to be up until present day.
ARGUMENT
Neanderthals were able to do most tasks modern humans were able to do, i.e. make tools. There is
even evidence of them caring for their elders and appear to be able to comprehend their own finite life
(Schwarz 2014:18). That all being

Modernism Vs Imperialism
Modernization has always been the objective for growing colonies and empires. The current
generation of today s time still aims to modernize and grow as a nation. However, the past holds many
mistakes and misconceptions about how the world can continue to modernize given specific
circumstances and factors. Today, historians, citizens and many others look over these past events and
learn from the complications made from previous leaders. One great example of a horrific imperial
occurrence is portrayed by King Leopold II of Belgium. Within his time of ruling he displayed
manipulation, ignorance and gruesome consequences of corruption. He took the opportunity to create
prosperity out of the Congo Free State and turned it cold with unethical dishonesty, brutality and
corrupt power. With all of his planning going to waste, King Leopold showed all of history how
combining imperialism with modernity can turn to the absolute worst for humanity. To begin,
imperialism had always been a long term system of governing. Empires were built, colonies were
created, and growth occurred to make today s world. It was always seen that the king of an empire
knew what was best for his nation. He was given the power to make impacting decisions and lead his
empire to success. However, many kings were found corrupted and abused their powers for their own
benefit. King Leopold used his skills to try to persuade his people and neighboring nations into
believing that the Congo State was the best

Young Men In Public Schools
Young men are a very big and important subgroup of the U.S. population; according to the 2010
Census, there were 151,781,326 males in the U.S. and 32,953,433 of those men were aged 15 to 29
(U.S. Bureau, 2011). In the PowerPoint professor Aldcroft says incarceration rates climbed in the 1990
s and reached historic highs in recent years. In 1995, 16 percent of black men in their 20 s who did not
attend college were in jail or prison. By 2004, 21 percent were incarcerated and by their mid 30 s, 60
percent of black men who had dropped out of school had spent time in prison. This is a good example
of the school to prison pipeline . Education has such a big importance in society, but students are

According to the National Center for Family Marriage Research, the average age at which a man
becomes a dad is 27.1, but that goes up to 30.8 for men with a college education (Staniforth, 2013).
Having children is a very big responsibility and costs a lot of money. Men are forced to work a lot and
possibly in jobs they don t desire, which makes advancing in a career much more difficult. Young
families are more likely to be in poverty because of these reasons. In the lecture it talks about the
working poor; 25% of poor Americans work full or part time. More than 5% of the work force work
two or more jobs and are still officially poor (Aldcroft, 2017). Once in poverty it is extremely hard to
get out of it, even if you manage to have multiple jobs (Aldcroft, 2017). Some people are permanently
poor. When men have kids at a young age, they may run away from their child and the mother, which
creates a situation of separation. In this case, the woman is left to be a single parent and the man is
stuck paying for child support, which can cause him to become overwhelmed. Accumulating debt and
losing motivation to have better jobs because most of the money will be taken anyway (Aldcroft,

The Impossibility Of Imprisoning The Mind
To Althea, from Prison : Richard Lovelace (Close read)
Lovelace s poem To Althea, from Prison expresses two concepts: the impossibility of imprisoning the
mind and therefore the impossibility of repressing one s belief in a cause, or in this case, a person. The
initial lack of explicitness of the meaning of the poem is exemplified by the mysteriousness of the
woman, Althea, who is rather unspecific in description, and ethereal, described as divine. Whether or
not the woman was real, or herself imaginary is unimportant to the poem, which is all about the lack
of division between true reality and reality of the mind. The juxtaposition between the body and the
mind reflects the same conflict within Lovelace himself, and in fact all Cavalier poets: the altogether
real matters of war and politics and the expression of poetry and imagination.
It is interesting that while the speaker is writing of freedom and the indomitability of the mind, he
describes himself as being tangled to Althea s hair and fetter d to her eye. This is language
undoubtedly of constraint, and seems to work in contention with the what in fact the speaker is
expressing; in fact, Lovelace is trying to express that even behind bars, and tangled and fetter d in his
own mind s eye, he is still freer than the birds he evokes. This nature imagery appears in the first three
stanzas of the poem, as does the ending line of know no such liberty, this repetition of imagery, as well
as the repetition of

The American Dream and College Essay
The American Dream and College
My junior year of high school was filled with high emotions, stressful moments, and tension about
where to apply to college and where I would be accepted and ultimately attend. At a Making the Most
out of your Sixth Semester forum that year, the entire junior class experienced lectures from the
school s college resource counselors about how to prepare for this arduous battle of college
admissions. The way Sue Biermert, who is the College Admissions Counselor at my high school,
opened the forum was by asking a question to the parents that put everything into perspective: How
many of you parents feel like you are successful? Every single hand shot up from the 500 parents in
the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though, the majority of students who go through this inevitable admissions procedure typically do not
meet the Wizard of Oz after traveling the yellow brick road in hopes of being granted their first choice
for higher education.
Sue Biermert explained to our junior class that night that life is about taking risks and facing problem
after problem. It was obviously not getting any easier by applying to colleges. However, this is what
we all had to do in order to feel like our parents in thirty years, because our culture has forced us to be
part of the system of going to some sort of university. She admitted that many of us would feel
rejected, literally and emotionally, in a year from our top choice. Though, one never knows until you
take that leap of faith as she quoted a popular Michael Jordan poster in our Chicago suburban high
school that reads: I miss 100% of all the shots I don t take. Biermert reiterated to us that we were there
that night to be part of the process, therefore we must be willing to tackle the admissions problem
head on and do the best we can.
The admissions process is analyzed by determining what ideal students are, as a more concrete answer
may be deduced about how this admissions game works and how to solve this equation. A profitable
university to try and examine is The George Washington University in Washington D.C., as this is the
university that I am currently attending.

  • 4. Christine Ardans Research Paper Almost every person has someone whom they admire and respect the most in the world. Regardless of who it is people tend to look up to someone they believe is superior or have aspects of which they enjoy. Be it because of fame, beauty, intelligence, history or something of the same form it is typical for people to have at least one person. Though I may be calculated into the mass of people who claim a friend to be their most admired person, I believe that Christine Ardans is someone who I admire most. I remember the first day I met her, she had already struck me as someone different and was not someone you d typically meet on a normal day. Christine had a strong sense of ambition, had intelligence, and had the kindest heart and she does to this day. She was like an undiscovered book, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She takes her own paths whether or not they affect you in any way. In high school, she never let anyone cheat off of her, even if they just needed one answer that the teacher had already given them. I highly admired this because I don t think cheating of any sort is okay. She would always deny everyone regardless of them calling her a tightwad, and she wouldn t ever give into anyone just because of a little taunting. I loved that about her because it made her gain more character and not follow the flow of high school. She has strong ambition that never ceases to amaze me whenever she needs to get something done. I remember in our junior year we had AP U.S history together in our seventh period, and with all of her other difficult classes she could never start her history homework until the day it was due. We had to read an entire chapter of about sixty pages each, and without fail, every single time she turned in her homework and aced the chapter test that came the same day. It was fascinating to watch and she inspired me to try my hardest as well as get everything done before hand so I don t have to stress like she ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. How Have Families Changed Since The 1950 s Families have definitely changed since the 1950 s. Fathers used to work and provide for the family. Today, some fathers aren t even in their child s lives. I feel like people want what the TV show families had, that aired in the 50 s. Fathers would make the money, while mothers would stay home, take care of the kids, cook, clean and many other things. There are TV shows from the 50 s that show what a family looked like back then. For example, Leave It to Beaver and Father Knows Best. Those TV shows are completely different from TV shows about families today, like how they dressed, how they talk, what the scenery/set look like. This topic intrigued me, because I used to watch a lot of TV when I was younger. I would ask my grandparents why we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... You can see it through the TV that we watch. In the 1950 s, the families were so mature and understanding of their kid s problems, helped them through them, and even go through tough problems together. In 2018 on TV, it seems like the parents don t want to help the kids or even give them attitude at times. Families on TV shows has changed over the years. I feel like if the directors and producers would sit and watch a couple shows from the 50 s, maybe they would understand or possibly change the TV show families in 2018. Add the typical families again. Some people would quite enjoy that, I would and I know plenty others who would too. All my grandfather watches on TV are reruns of Leave it to Beaver, M.A.S.H (which isn t about families much but still was made a long time ago), I Love Lucy, and Gunsmoke (again not about families but he just enjoys them from back then). • 6. A Research Study On Lyme Disease Lyme Disease 1. My name is Thomas Porter and I am a rising senior at Hilliard Davidson High School. In the near future, I hope to attend Ohio State University, Johns Hopkins University, or University of Pennsylvania and study neuroscience or biomedical engineering. Currently, I am trying to build my background in biomedical sciences and meet people with similar interests as me through the Mechanisms of Human Health and Disease class. I hope to someday become a physician scientist researching neuroplasticity. I chose to study Lyme disease because it is a disease that is on the rise in the United States, despite being somewhat easily preventable. In addition, the disease is very expensive, costing the United States an estimated 1.3 billion ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This paper will discuss the causes and symptoms of Lyme disease, as well as the molecular pathway of its progression through three phases: the early localized stage, the early disseminated stage, and the late disseminated stage. 3. In order to teach young kids about Lyme disease, I would use many visuals (such as pictures and diagrams) and relatable comparisons. For the disease background, I would start with a map of the United States and circle the most common areas for Lyme disease occurrence, as well as Lyme, Connecticut, where the disease was first discovered. I would then draw out a group of people who appear to be in pain, with swollen joints and large rashes. These people would be examined by a doctor named Willy Burgdorfer, who discovers a specific bacterium, Borrelia burgdorferi, that is causing their suffering (bayarealyme.org). To conclude the background discussion, I would show the students maps that indicate the prevalence of Lyme disease, and how they have changed from the 1980s to the present to reflect an increase in cases. In order to show how the disease is contracted, I would reference a map of the United States and review the most common areas for Lyme disease occurrence. I would proceed to discuss various outdoor activities, which would allow the students to understand that Lyme disease can be picked up during virtually any activity at the most ... Now Justice returns, returns the Golden Age; a new generation now descends from on high. Virgil, Eclogues 1.5 As Virgil stated so many years ago, history is a cyclical phenomenon. The experiences of one age tend to be repeated in future generations. Knowing that, we should not be surprised to find the seeds of modern styles and philosophies sprouting in earlier ages. Elizabethan England was a society undergoing major social changes. In religion the country had recently left the fold of Catholicism to establish the Church of England. This attempt to represent multiple viewpoints simultaneously was opposed to the renaissance artist s attempt to establish a single viewpoint#. In Midsummer Night s Dream, a play that belongs to the period of the late renaissance, William Shakespeare has managed to incorporate the same elements we use to define Cubist art. As Alexander Leggatt points out, this play is divided into four different groups of characters; the lovers, the older Athenian citizens, the fairies and the rude mechanics. # Each of these groups proceeds through the play as a separate plane or playing field that intersects the other fields in proscribed and largely ceremonial ways. The interaction of the different groups helps to define each group and at the same time keeps them separate. At the center of the play, the object which is divided up and examined in multiple perspectives is love. One of the most famous character in the book was Heathcliff, a tortured anti hero. Heathcliff is an orphan brought to live at Wuthering Heights by Mr. Earnshaw, Heathcliff falls into an intense, unbreakable love with Mr. Earnshaw s daughter Catherine. What kind of living will it be when you oh, God! would you like to live with your soul in the grave? . What actually made him a tortured anti hero is how people around him treated him, made him to find a way to rescue himself. The reason why he is not considering as bad or good is because he is just doing what he needs to do save his soul and peace. He is acting cruel in fact he is asking for help from others, asking for passionate from Catherine which he ll never granted. Heathcliff, however, defies being understood, and it is difficult for readers to resist seeing what they want or expect to see in him. The novel teases the reader with the possibility that Heathcliff is something other than what he seems that his cruelty is merely an expression of his frustrated love for Catherine, or that his sinister behaviors serve to conceal the heart of a romantic hero. Zoos have become a controversial issue in our society, and from what I am thinking, I feel that it s not right to keep the animals in zoos. So do we have the rights to do that? Generally every body has been to a zoo at least once in their life, I m sure you can remember when you were a kid adoring animals behind glass. But you were missing the point the big picture. A four year old child climbed past a barricade and fell into a moat the gorilla grabbed the little boy and dragged him around and easily could of cracked his head or drowned. • 12. Effects Of Artificial Lighting On Sea Turtle Populations Barbara Garrow Effects of Artificial Lighting on Sea Turtle Populations Abstract Significant numbers of sea turtles from around the world nest on Florida beaches, although, the human population of Florida happens to be extremely concentrated around coastal areas as well. The development of coasts brings an increase in artificial light, which can be quite the problem for nesting sea turtles. The development and increase in artificial light has contributed greatly to the decline of populations in recent years (Conserve Sea Turtles). Artificial lighting has a detrimental effect on sea turtle reproduction in many different ways. For instance, lighting can cause the turtles to avoid nesting in the area because they consider it bad habitat. Even if they decide to nest there, there is still the chance that their nests may potentially fail (Salmon 2003). Nestlings will often deter their emergence from the nest in the presence of artificial lighting (Salmon). If the nestlings hatch, they begin the process of locating the ocean from the nest, called seafinding . This task is accomplished mostly visually. An effect called hatchling disorientation occurs when hatchlings become disoriented and wander the opposite direction and inland, which then often leads to them to die of dehydration or predation (Witherington 2003). According to scientists, hatchlings have an innate instinct that leads them in the brightest direction , which is usually moon light creating light by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. The Super Bowl- Human Trafficking Human trafficking is modern day slavery, which leads to kidnapping, drugs, forced sex, forced labor or death. Consequently, many victims which include men as well as women and children from all the countries are being kidnapped, bought and sold against their will, which are odious crimes in the 21st century. Therefore, Abolishing justice in the 21st century (A21) organization made a campaign poster The Super Bowl Human Trafficking contains calculated information that The Super Bowl is known as the largest human trafficking incident in the United States. The notice contains an extemporaneous photo of a woman who runs through a tunnel towards the light. A21 organization strongly believes there are no unscathed people around the world, therefore human beings should work together, and consequently the human trafficking will end. Intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) are defined by Kegley (2009) as institutions created and joined by states governments, which give them authority to make collective decisions to manage particular problems on the global agenda (p. 163). The purpose of IGOs is to solve shared problems on the basis of involving states interests. In other words, states utilize community of interest to balance the international situation between neighborhoods. According to Kegley (2009), a global trend in world politics is the spectacular growth of IGOs. • 15. Death By Sophocles And The Holy Bible Death is a very popular theme in world literature; authors seem to feed off the anguish it causes readers. However, there are many types of deaths from many different eras. For example, in its broadest sense death has two forms homicide and suicide. Homicide for instance, dates all the way back to the two earliest works of literature known to man; The Epic of Gilgamesh and The Holy Bible. Suicide is also ancient, but has a much darker feel to it. Despite death being universal throughout time, there are some striking similarities in today s world. Firstly, the story of Antigone, written by Sophocles in 441 B.C., is the epitome of literary death. One of the main homicides in the story is the main character s brother, Polynices. In summary, King Oedipus had four children Antigone, Ismene, Polynices, and Eteocles. Moreover, upon the king s death it was decided that his sons would cycle leadership each year. However, Eteocles refused to step down, and after a fierce duel, both brothers were dead. Furthermore, this makes Polynices death an honorable death in battle. Polynices died fighting for something he believed in and while essentially fighting a war. In modern day, this death is comparable to that of a solider. The United States has lost many brave men and women over time in the line of duty. Furthermore, all of these individuals died fighting for what they believed in: the safety and security of the United States. Towards the end of the story, one death causes a domino ... • 19. Armenian Genocide Essay The world becomes a better place when there is humanity. Humanity exists when there are people who have the desire to give, instead of take. When these generous people give without the expectation of taking back, the world automatically offers them the better. There was poverty in all the villages of Armenia. Armenian Christians were continuously under attacks. The attacks against Christian Armenians occurred throughout the year 1915. This is the age that is well known for the Armenian Genocide, which was carried out by the Ottoman Turks. Escaping the Ottoman forces, my grandmother, Sosek Boghosian, found herself as a refuge in Iraq. Horrific acts continued to be committed to my grandmother s descendants. Many people had no place to live or sleep. I have interviewed my grandmother to make myself more educated about the Armenian Genocide. She contributed to the Armenian culture in many different ways. Mrs. Boghosian studied about the genocide from her beloved mother. Following her mother s footsteps, she became more generous day by day. She contributed to the Armenian Culture by teaching her children and grandchildren how to help one another. This was followed by donating food, clothes and shelter for the kids in orphanages. These unfortunate children lost their guardians in the genocide, along with 1.5 million other deaths. The Armenian people lived in a very safe environment until some obstacles beset them. Descartes Mind and Body Descartes Mind Body Dualism Rene Descartes main purpose is to attempt to prove that the mind that is the soul or the thinking thing is distinct and is separate from the body. This thinking thing was the core of himself, which doubts, believes, reasons, feels and thinks. Descartes considers the body to be an extended unthinking thing; therefore it is possible that one may exist without the other. This view is known as mind body dualism. He believes that what he is thinking in his mind is what God created and instilled in him. Descartes outlines many arguments to support and prove his claims of his discoveries. It does not rule out other possibilities, such as waking up to find oneself to be not a human but a different form of life. Therefore the statement of the body is too broad to specifically identify as being in human form. Also, it should be noted that the Cogito only works for the thought. It cannot be used in a sense that, I can walk or sleep therefore I exist since I can doubt these actions carried out by the body. The reason why a person cannot doubt itself is because the doubt is in a form of a thought in ones mind, not an action of our body. Descartes discusses that physical objects are more known distinctly through the mind than through the body and explains his reason further in the Wax Argument. The Wax Argument describes how Descartes wanted to show that we come to know things using the intellectual parts of our brain rather than through our senses. Basically, Descartes is trying to prove that we know the mind truly better than anything else, like our bodies and the world outside of the mind. This argument begins by describing the process of change by which solid wax melts until it has changed its phase of matter to form a liquid puddle. Descartes describes the wax uses his senses as he says, Its color, shape, and size are manifest. It is hard and cold; it is easy to touch. If you wrap it with your knuckle it will emit a sound. The question of what is good music, is an intriguing one because the answer to this question varies from culture to culture. Even within a culture, the musical preferences change based on the individual. For this What is good music project, I chose the song Sour Patch Kids, by Bryce Vine, because this song exemplifies a few things that I look for when determining good music. This song features an upbeat rhythm, and the lyrics compliment the beat. The entire song is supposed to deliver a nostalgic feel to the listener. Throughout the song, He incorporates popular themes from his childhood into the lyrics, and the music video features these themes throughout. For me, I think the nostalgic theme works well with this song. It provides a happy, carefree feeling to the listener. When I listen to this song, it personally brings back feeling and memories from the summer I was shown it. Because of this, I believe the nostalgic theme of the song is a good fit. Another reason this is good music is because of the lyrics. These lyrics break away from the typical stereotype that is expected from rap/hip hop music. It seems that recently, few popular songs have lyrics with meaning. Most feature lyrics that will appeal to the masses to sell the most records. This is where Bryce Vine differentiates himself from these artists. His lyrics share stories and experiences from his life, and are very personalized for the listener. • 24. Stuttering In The King s Speech The King s Speech (2010) follows King George VI, referred to as Bertie throughout the film, as he seeks stuttering treatment while managing his increasing responsibilities in the years preceding World War II. One of the ongoing thematic elements of The King s Speech was Bertie s on going struggle with his self confidence and self worth, especially as the looming responsibilities of kingship magnify his feelings of inadequacy. It was interesting to contrast Bertie s self perception to the manner in which his stuttering was perceived by those around him. In a few instances, Bertie mentions that his stuttering has always been particularly difficult when speaking with his father and older brother. In one of the few scenes with King George V, the King is seen as being extremely strict with Bertie. While he initially tries to encourage Bertie by stating public speaking is a matter of practice, this attempt at encouragement rapidly devolved into openly berating Bertie. Almost immediately upon sitting down, the King instructed Bertie to sit up straight, to get it out , and even at one point angrily tells his son to relax. A second scene involved Bertie stating that his brother, Edward, was prone to mocking his stuttering and was even encouraged to do so by their father. The Impossibility Of Imprisoning The Mind To Althea, from Prison : Richard Lovelace (Close read) Lovelace s poem To Althea, from Prison expresses two concepts: the impossibility of imprisoning the mind and therefore the impossibility of repressing one s belief in a cause, or in this case, a person. The initial lack of explicitness of the meaning of the poem is exemplified by the mysteriousness of the woman, Althea, who is rather unspecific in description, and ethereal, described as divine. Whether or not the woman was real, or herself imaginary is unimportant to the poem, which is all about the lack of division between true reality and reality of the mind. The juxtaposition between the body and the mind reflects the same conflict within Lovelace himself, and in fact all Cavalier poets: the altogether real matters of war and politics and the expression of poetry and imagination. It is interesting that while the speaker is writing of freedom and the indomitability of the mind, he describes himself as being tangled to Althea s hair and fetter d to her eye. This is language undoubtedly of constraint, and seems to work in contention with the what in fact the speaker is expressing; in fact, Lovelace is trying to express that even behind bars, and tangled and fetter d in his own mind s eye, he is still freer than the birds he evokes.
