Abuse Of Animal Domestication
ow are animals in today s world abused and domesticated by humans? Animal domestication benefits
most countries because it helps them farm, grow food, and get materials. In Syria, Asia, and Europe
pigs were utilized more in settled farming communities than in nomadic groups because they are
difficult to move for long distance. One reason animals are domesticated is for their hides and their
fur, which provides materials for shelter. Hides are used in teepees as well, while hair is used for
plaster. Early men relied on bones and hides for tools.
People domesticate animals for a number of reasons, buying and selling them so they can help us with
thing we can do our self but don t want to work hard for it. People use animals to examine them ...

Build more animal shelters so animals without home won t be left on the streets or killed because the
shelters are overcrowded lower the prices of how much it cost to neuter a animal to slow down the
population rate of dogs and cats. Having only one circus that travels across the U.S. and raise money
so they can take care of the animals they have, for science only examine bodies of animals that died of
natural causes and more. There might be a bunch of trial and error but there s always a solution to a
problem no matter how impossible it seems.
So In Conclusion, Take care of all animals even though it might just be a cat, tiger, or bear humans are
just humans so what makes people any different from them besides the talking thing, there are ways to
making money in the world just figure it out. Just leave our Big wild animals Alone if people are
going to use them for their own personal use take proper care of them, just because treating animals
the way they would want to be treated. Also, if everyone just stop talking about what s wrong try
fixing it because there are no excuses to why people treat animal they way they do and there are

Executive Summary
Since the early 1950 s Toyota has been in the business of manufacturing automobiles as a family
operated company. Much of Toyota s success has come from their ability to adapt to an ever changing
market place, in both good times and in bad, while honoring its commitment to product safety and
quality. This commitment has allowed them to consistently produce cars that meet or exceed that of
their competition, while taking into consideration the impact on our ... Show more content on

Defining Toyota Production System Terms
Some of the various assessment tools used to better assess and evaluate the Toyota Production System
(TPS) are: Andon is a visual or audible system used to notify both management and production
workers when a problem or issue occurs in the production process. The goal of andon is to quickly
identify a problem, and its location, so that the issue may be rectified quickly thus reducing downtime
in the production process. As of 2014 Toyota began to retire what has become known as the andon
cord, or emergency cable, in the auto industry and a symbol of quality for a new push button design.
Yellow buttons placed at waist level and easy to access along the production process have become the
standard. Toyota first switched to push buttons during renovation of the Tsutsumi plant in Japan, but
has not yet switched in North America. Warning lights in hospitals rooms for patient monitoring is a
form of andon. Hoshin is the process of establishing direction, through proper management, and
setting goals and objectives for everyone to achieve. The hoshin process has three parts: select a key
objective, align implementation at all levels, and implement review improve. An example of hoshin
can be seen in the Army whereby individuals and units are given METL (Mission Essential Task List)
task to accomplish at each level in support of the overall objective of the higher objective. These tasks
are derived by the commander at the

Autonomy in Medicine
Autonomy in Medicine
Finneaus Parker

Dr. Schlitz
Autonomy is the personal rule of the self that is free from both controlling interferences by others and
from personal limitations that prevent meaningful choice (Pantilat, 2008). Autonomous individuals act
intentionally, with understanding, and without controlling influences. Respect for autonomy is one of
the fundamental guidelines of clinical ethics. Autonomy in medicine is not simply allowing patients to
make their own decisions. Physicians have an obligation to create the conditions necessary for
autonomous choice in others. For a physician, respect for autonomy includes respecting an individual
s right to self determination as well as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the majority of their lives patients seek treatment from a family physician that has a general
knowledge of their health status, behaviors, and family background. However, once patients reach the
age where multiple ailments require the consultation of several specialists, care can become
fragmented. The primary physician, who presumably knows the patient best, begins to play a smaller
role in deciding treatments and consulting the patient s family on advance directives. This
fragmentation and discontinuity of care is pervasive once the patient reaches the end of life, and thus
helps explain why treatment decisions at the end of life often differ from the wishes of the family and
even the patient.
The relationship between a physician and his or her patient is inherently driven by outcomes. By
default, a physician is trained to cure or mitigate the effects of the patient s illness until natural death.
However, the instinctive behavior of physicians at the end of life can result in more harm by
encouraging advanced treatments that reduce the quality of life in a patient s remaining days.
Evidence has demonstrated that this leads to greater dissatisfaction among patients and their families,
and it results in unnecessarily high instances of death in hospital

Analysis Of Nathaniel Philbrick s Mayflower
Nathaniel Philbrick is an American author and novelist. He was born June 11, 1956 in Boston,
Massachusetts but spent most of his early life in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where he grew up. He
attended Brown and Duke Universities where he earned a BA in English and an MA in American
Literature. Where he was born, what he studied in school, and where he currently resides (Nantucket,
MA along with his wife Melissa) contribute greatly to his career. Philbrick used his acquired
knowledge and experience from his schooling to become the award winning novelist he is today. He
won National Book Award for Nonfiction, was a finalist for the 2007 Pulitzer Prize in History, and his
book Mayflower was named one of the ten Best Books of 2006 by the New ... Show more content on

For many years and by many Americans the Battle of Little BigHorn was looked at as a valiant effort
by brave Americans to fight for what they believed in under a well organized and successful
commanding officer. Through the accounts in this book, Philbrick shows us this was not necessarily
the case. Custer and his men went into the battle extremely too overconfident and he seriously
underestimated the power of his opposing army. This overconfidence caused a great lack of proper
preparation for the battle by the US army which ultimately helped lead to their demise in this battle.
Other factors that contributed to this loss were the facts that Custer did not have such great command
over some of his officers. Several of them purposely disobeyed orders and acted upon their own
whims. One officer in particular, Sargent Reno, showed up to the battle drunk and was seen drinking
from a flask of amber liquid. The confusion, disorder and underestimation of the enemy all lead to the
chaos and massacre that ensued on Custer and his men. The fight between Custer s men and the
indians proved to be a rout, a panic till the last man was killed. Custer lead reckless charges down the
hills and along the river and by Indian accounts, he was the first to be struck and killed. Without their
leader so early in battle, the Seventh Cavalry was left in much disarray. A panic ensued among the
men and according to

Emotional Intelligence And Psychological Depth
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL BEING IN ADOLESCENTS The
general concept of emotional intelligence (EI) is partly rooted in Thorndike s (1920) idea of social
intelligence and Gardner s (1983) theory of multiple intelligences (especially intrapersonal and
interpersonal intelligence). In the current context, EI asa construct was discussed in a dissertation by
Payne (1986), even though as a term it had appeared in the literature much earlier (Leuner, 1966).
Salovey and Mayer (1990) put forward a theoretical model that viewed the construct as a subset of
social intelligence and Goleman (1995) provided a broad and highly influential account that has
nonetheless attracted concerted criticism for its unsubstantiated claims about the vital importance of
EI in people s personal, social and professional lives. The fact that the field still lacks a universally
accepted operational definition has contributed significantly to the emergence of inconsistent and
sometimes, contradictory findings that have often been discussed in the scientific literature (e.g.
Davies, Stankov, Roberts, 1998; Epstein, 1998; Mathews, Zeidner, Roberts, 2002). Psychological well
being has been approached differently by different researchers and views it in different ways. One
view sees it according to the hedonic and eudaimonic approaches of early philosophers. Subjective
well being was first used by Ryan and Deci (2001) as combination of pleasure, displeasure,
satisfaction and

New Place Research Paper
New Place
Going to a new place was my great experience for learning coping skills, for developing self
discipline, and making friends. When I was about nine years old, I was a troubled boy. As a fourth
grader, I went to an elementary school in my small village. However, I grew up without supervision
because my father, as a soldier, was often deployed far away from home. After school times, I hung
around with other undisciplined boys in our neighborhood, and was influenced by neighbor boys
misbehaviors. I ran into mischief. Fortunately, my mother believed in Catholic schools. She saved my
life by sending me to a providing Catholic Church school, very far from home, in Thuduc city,
Vietnam for my education.
Notre Dame was a gorgeous school where I probably started to develop my coping skills in my
childhood. As I am trying to visualize my experience living in a room and board Notre Dame Church
school, I can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Everyday, I practiced the rules of self discipline to take charge of my learning. For example, while
doing my math problem sets, I wouldn t let myself check the math answers until I completed all my
math exercises. Eventually, these practices became an ingrained habit. As a reward of my self
discipline, my math skills improved greatly, and I earned good grades. In addition, Striving for
Excellence guided me to overcome learning obstacles at Notre Dame School with a great learning
environment, separated from the world outside. During school years, my friends and I challenged
ourselves and competed amongst each other in order to excel. On class projects that required
teamwork, we cooperated and needed each other. When playing sports, we trained and pushed
ourselves hard, and we tried to keep sportsmanship. Finally, renovating my behaviors with a strict
discipline, Notre Dame changed my life totally, as I have grown up both physically and mentally with

Stanley Milgram ( 1963 ) Essay
Stanley Milgram (1963) was interested in how likely people would obey an authority figure who
instructed them to harm another person. His study involved 40 male participants, aged 20 to 50, who
were recruited through advertisements and mail solicitation. Participants had diverse occupations and
educational levels. They came to a lab where they served as teachers in a supposed learning and
memory experiment. A simulated shock generator with 30 switches was used. It was clearly marked
with voltage levels and verbal designations ranging from 15 volts (slight shock) to 450 volts (danger:
severe shock). The participants task was to administer an electric shock to the learner, a confederate of
the experimenter, whenever he made an error in the memory test, increasing the intensity of shock
each time. When the participant refused to administer a shock, the experimenter would give a series of
prods to the participants to ensure that they continue with the experiment, even if they reached the
marked danger of a severe shock, or heard the learner s screams and pounding from an adjacent room.
The experiment ended when the maximum voltage of shock had been delivered, or if the participant
refused to continue any further. The maximum intensity shock a participant was willing to administer
before he refused to participate any further was measured. The results showed that 26 out of 40 (65%)
participants obeyed the commands of the experimenter to the end, reaching the most potent shock

Loyalty usually goes hand in hand with honesty. Even though we as humans sometimes feel the need
to portray ourselves as saints, no one is perfect. Loyal doesn t always have to mean honesty. The
people that I find loyal in my life have always been devoted and faithfully supportive to me. No matter
how hard I fall nor how big the mistake, they are always there when I needed them to help pick me up
when I falter. My best friend Gia, who is also now the Godmother of my daughter, is the perfect
example of this. No matter how harsh the situation was she was always there. Being there for me wasn

Hurricane Andrew Research Papers
The sound of the wind, that s what you never forget. The initial whisper. The growing mewing that
turns into a howl. Then they cry of glass shattering. The grumbling of a roof peeling apart , said Ana
Veciana Suarez, as she remembers one of the worst, fiercest, and most powerful storm to hit South
Florida, Hurricane Andrew. On August 24, 1992, Category 5 Hurricane Andrew came through and
devastated South Florida turning its full forces on Miami Dade county. The aftermath of this hurricane
was completely unbelievable and devastating, being that it was the most high priced storm ever
recorded in United States History. Rebuilding the community took several years and even after
everything was rebuilt, citizens of South Florida, would never forget Hurricane Andrew.
As many know, hurricanes are considered to be among the most powerful forces in nature. A hurricane

and whatever we could not tie down, went in our shed. I thought we prepared more than enough, but
we didn t. We prepared just enough. She explained how the storm was furious, how it was very

Should We Let Astrology Affect Our Thinking Or Perception...
Should we let astrology affect our thinking or perception towards life?
In today s society, astrology has been an extremely fascinating belief and study among certain social
groups. Many people are used to refer to the daily horoscope in newspapers and popular magazines.
However, a large group of scientists and philosophers such as Thagard (1978) consider that astrology
is a pseudoscience, but there is a small amount of scientific evidence on whether if it is truly a
pseudoscience or not. Some of them discuss that the psychological belief in astrology of oneself is the
consequence of his or her desperation in finding solutions to their personal problems such as marriage
and career which can somehow affect their life because of its psychological effects (Bennett, 1998).
Besides, astrology is considered as an ancestor of modern science which is supported by two aspects
of discussions (Thomas, 1971). Furthermore, most scientists hold the opinion that astrology can not be
trust because it is lack of scientific support. Nevertheless, according to Fitts Fitzgerald (1977), the fate
of one person is determined at some level which is inevitable and inescapable. Moreover,
Konstantinides (2004) contradict the idea that constellations are supposed to determine the
characteristics of oneself in that everyone is different somehow even for twins. At last but not least,
some experts claim that people do not necessarily understand themselves and others through astrology.
That is why we

Adler s Ethos In How To Mark A Book
When I read a book or a paper, I read it and sometimes make a few mental notes. What do you do? Do
you mark and write things down? In Mortimer J. Adler s paper, How to Mark a Book, he argues the
best way to get the most out of reading is to mark the book or paper, leaving ones thoughts on the
pages. Some say this slows them down, or leaves behind a messy, ruined book, but Adler claims
reading slower and writing thoughts down allows the reader and author to have a conversation that
will enhance the readers understanding of the text. Through his paper, Adler attempts to use the
rhetorical triangle of ethos, pathos, and logos to connect the audience to his paper and to convince
them the best way to understand a text is through marking it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Ethos Out of the three, ethos, pathos, and logos, Mortimer J. Adler uses ethos, or the ethical character
and credibility of the speaker, most effectively, in order to convince his audience that he has a right to
be explaining the usefulness of marking a book while reading it. In the very beginning, there is an
introduction about Adler which states things such as, He founded and fathered the Great Books
Program, edited the Encyclopedia Britannica, and wrote dozens of books on educational, intellectual,
and philosophical topics (Adler, n.d./2012, p.1). He also earned his PhD from Columbia University
after dropping out of high school, demonstrating his dedication to learning. This sets the stage for the
reader to feel that the author is a credible source for writing on this subject. As the article continues,
Adler retains his credibility by mentioning other point of views. He says, You may say that this
business of marking books is going to slow up your reading (Adler, n.d./2012, p.4). Although he does
mention these other points of view, he refutes them quickly. For example, the next two sentences say,
It probably will. That s one of the reasons for doing it (Adler, n.d./2012, p.4). He refutes the other
viewpoints in order to help the reader feel more confident that his way is the best way. He does so in a

Investing Stocks and Bonds
Investing in Stocks and Bonds Stocks and Bonds are different in many ways. A stock is a portion or
share of the ownership of a corporation. A share will give the owner of the stock the company s profits
or loses over time. The good thing about stocks is they can be sold at almost any time as long as there
is someone willing to buy. A bond, on the other hand, is a fixed interest financial asset issued by
governments, companies, banks, and other large entities. Bonds also are called funds. Bonds pay the
owner a fixed amount a specific date, or on specified dates depending on the type of bond. If the bond

A Different Perspective of Satan in Paradise Lost by John...
In the first book of Paradise Lost, created by Milton, it can most accurately be perceived as Milton
attempting to give the reader a different perspective on Satan, the greatest lost angel. In the first book
of Paradise Lost, Milton writes about how Satan was the closest angel to God. Milton s attempt at
making Satan a sympathetic character evolved after his original audience had seen it, because in
modern times it is much easier to sympathize with Satan than it was many years ago. The perspective
of Satan has changed a lot. In modern times, we view Milton s retelling of Satan s story as a story of
struggling against great odds, Satan s being spoon fed powers, and Satan and the Fallen Angels
optimism for Hell. In the first book of Paradise Lost, created by Milton, he writes about Satan s
struggle against great odds in order to make Satan a more attractive character in his epic. For example,
Th infernal Serpent; he it was, whose guile stird up with Envy and Revenge, deceiv d (from Milton s
Paradise Lost, line; 34 35), in this example Milton wrote about how Satan was the closest angel to
God, which meant that Satan s attempt to overthrow God was not entirely shocking considering how
envious Satan was of God because God was considered more powerful than Satan. Satan, in his actual
attempt to overthrow God, gathered up many Legions of Angels in attempt to overthrow God. God
drove him and his crew out of Heaven and sent them to Hell. After they were thrown into Hell, you

A Brief Note On The Mother Of God Standing On A Hillside...
Connor Monahan Dr. Stringer Huma 201 J 17 October 2015 Medjugorje: A Mother s Call to Her
Children In June of 1981, six children clamed to see Mary the Mother of God standing on a hillside of
Medjugorje, a small town in south east Yugoslavia. These children, four girls and two boys, claim to
continue to have Marian apparitions every day, to this day. Thousands of pilgrims each year travel to
Medjugorje each year to witness the visionary s appropriations. These apparitions are not approved by
the Catholic Church yet. These apparitions are real and there is Biblical and physical proof for it.
Many come to Medjugorje and claim to witness miracles, such as healings and other miraculous
events. Some claim that these miracles are actually satanic and led people father away from Jesus.
These claims are absolutely false, and hundreds are converted to Christianity, healed, and brought
closer to God by this one place. On June 24, 1981, Vicka Ivonovic woke from a nap to go out to play
with here two friends, Ivanka Ivonovic and Mirjana Dragicevic. When she met up with them, they
were at the base of the hillside near the town of Medjugorje. Their faces were flushed and Mirjana
pointed to the hillside saying, Look up there the Madonna (Parsons 6). Vicka did not even look before

Our Lady s role in the Ballad of the White Horse

destroy the societal values Western Europeans had spent centuries building, Alfred, his chiefs, and his
Christian armies receive inspiration to continue the battle for Christendom from Our Lady. For though
Alfred and his armies strive to win the earthly battle with the Danes, they must also overcome the

warns Alfred that Christians must not attempt to predict their future as the pagans do. In contrast,
those who are strengthened by the Blood of Christ are to whatever danger lies before them.
Furthermore, she gives him no optimistic view of the future, and, in fact, declares that the sky shall

hope, he is intent on winning the spiritual battle, even if he never defeats the Danes. Despair and

Specifically, Amanda was verbally presented with two words and she had to tell the examiner how
they were alike or similar. On this measure she scored in the Average range (Similarities, scaled score

Loss, Breakup And Sorrow
Loss, breakup and sorrow Grief is part of the process of healing and recovery from a loss. Grieving is
a very personal experience with a strong cultural perspective and there is no pattern regarding the
length of mourning and grief. Experiencing the loss of a loved one takes a heavy toll on your
emotional health. Anyhow you grieve for your loss, grief is sufferance, and there is always a point
when you cannot take it anymore. It always comes a day when you want to let go and you want to step
further, beyond your pain. Unfortunately, beginning the healing and recovery process is not simple.
When your grief lasts too long or is too intense, when you re going to extremes to avoid thinking or
talking about your loss, when you have no more tears to cry, when you re overwhelmed and
incapacitated because of your persistent grief, pain, sadness and fear, than most probably you need
help. When you ll be ready to let go of your loss and to move on, I can help you ease your painful
feelings that are holding you back. You can t be free of your past as long as you don t release the
negative emotions attached to it. Traditional hypnotherapy can help you remove sadness, anger, rage,

Relations Between Iran And Iran
This paper explores long strained relations between Iran and United States that began decades ago.
The paper also examines the events that led to this decades of disagreement between Washington and
Tehran. Allies to enemies, that is what happen after series of events such as the CIA backed coup in
1953 to the hostage crises at the U.S Embassy in Tehran. The U.S and many of its allies criticized Iran
s nuclear program which they believed that Iran was using it to develop nuclear weapons. Iran on the
other hand denied this accusations and stated that their nuclear program was only for civilian use only.
After long talks and crippling sanctions against Iran, finally there was a historic agreement between
Iran and six world powers that would stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and would lift the
sanctions imposed on Iran.

The Nuclear Deal
Iran and the United States were once a powerful ally. During the Cold War, the United States
supported, and some cases rallied allied countries, including Iran as a fortification against the Soviet
Union. In certain cases, the United States was supporting unpopular and suppressive regimes. The
Shah of Iran and his suppressive regime was one of those governments. The Shah regime was
overthrown in 1979 and was ultimately replaced by another regime, but this this regime and its
leadership were anti American. The new regime was a

Having information and access to family planning, abortion services, maternal and child health (such
as knowing what to do after giving birth) and/or preventing and treating diseases to anyone and
everyone should be essential because this type of aid can help with the rapid population growth. If
women were able to control when they wanted to give birth and how many children they wanted to
give birth to, that would be a game changer in trying to stop hurting the environment. For some time,
there was access to all that information, specifically in poorer countries and third world countries

Case Study Of Maxis
Maxis Gross Profit The graph indicates the gross profit of Maxis was unstable and fluctuated wildly
from 2011 to 2014. Gross profit dropped minimally by 1.26% from 2011 to 2012. The reasons why
gross profit dropped in 2012 were the stiff price competition and the emergence of over the top (OTT)
players. OTT players provided alternative communication access (Maxis Berhad, 2012, p.17). From
2012 to 2013, it increased slightly which was from RM5.96bil to RM5.99bil. It may due to the
launching of 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) service in Malaysia and Maxis was the first to offer this
4G LTE service (Maxis Berhad, 2012, p.37). The gross profit dropped significantly from RM5.99bil in

Excalibur
My Three Favorite Scenes
The movie Excalibur is a story about a king that is later known as the best king, but we still aren t sure
if he was a real person or just imaginary. We are taught a lot about middle english through the reading
and watching of Excalibur. One main thing that we are taught through Excalibur is the code of the
knights. The code of the knights was to serve and protect your king while respecting everyone. While
watching this movie I learned a lot about something that I look at as pointless at the beginning of the
year. Many things in this movie have made me open my eyes and see the true meaning behind
somethings. I have come on some of my favorite scenes that show the strengths of many people. The
scene that first caught ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Arthur is tricked to sleep with his step sister and she later gave birth to a son named Mordred, who is
later known as the worst villain of all times. When Mordred is born Arthur is strucken and becomes
very ill. He tells his knights that they need to find the holy grail because drinking from that is the only
thing that will heal him. Arthur knows that it s going to be a hard tasks and after a year the grail is still
nowhere to be found. Sir Gawain one of Arthur s best knights that sits at the round table, rides for
what seems like forever when coming upon Mordred. Who Gawain doesn t know is Arthur s son,
Mordred talks him into following him through the woods where there are other Knight s corpse
hanging from trees. Gawain later come to Mordred s mom and she uses spells to try and kill him.
While Gawain is hanging slowly dying he see God and is given the holy grail. This is one of my
favorite scenes because they search for a year to find something that was thought to be gone. Gawain
shows his worth as a knight and doesn t give up on finding the holy grail to save his king. Even
though the movie Excalibur was a good movie every person will look at it in different ways. This
movie has taught me a lot about how important the knights code was to the knights that fought to
protect their king. The story behind excalibur is one that is full of many different story. There are

reasons why banks are fearful to partake in the legal cannabis industry. With marijuana still being

The Uninsured and Special Populations--Healthcare
UNINSURED AND SPECIAL POPULATTIONS
Introduction
There are 45 million (17%) Americans without health insurance. Uninsured and special populations
are experiencing problems mostly linked to unemployment, cost of health care, low income and
decreased employer based coverage. Also, many people are unable to find health insurance because of
pre existing health conditions. For some, citizenship status may also disqualify them for benefits. One
example is Personal Responsibility Act of 1996, which prevents legal immigrant population and their
U.S. born children to receive certain benefits. These people have since experienced decreased access
to health insurance, among other problems. Uninsured and special populations are more likely to ...

Also, there is a high possibility of health insurance lobbying for their favored services to be included
in the approved plans. The Obamacare, say opponents, imposes a hidden tax where those with health
insurance will be required to pay for those without a health plan. It is a way of taxing healthy people
without calling it a tax.
Supporters of Health Insurance Mandate
Those who support the PPACA are majority Democrats. They claim that the government s health
insurance mandate is constitutional based on the Commerce Clause that allows the federal government
to expand its power in various ways by defining various activities as interstate commerce. The
government is not claiming an individual s property, but is providing a compensation for the health
premiums paid by each person (health insurance). Therefore, the health insurance requirement does
not go against the Fifth Amendment s Taking Clause that states that the government cannot take a
citizen s property without compensation for it. The supporters of ACA compare the health insurance
mandate to minimum wage mandate. Just like the health insurance mandate that requires premiums
paid to insurance companies, the minimum wage mandate has private beneficiaries (employees), as
well.

Titus Andronicus Violence
The book Titus Andronicus is a famous play which displays horrific violence, the book is described as
a horror genre. Lavinia is Titus s daughter which has been brutally raped by Demetrius and Chiron
who are Tamora s sons. The sons have cut off Lavinia hands and tongue so she is unable to identify
the rapists, verbally or communicate in writing. The scene starts off with a disturbing entrance: Enter
Demetrius and Chiron with Lavinia, ravished; her hands cut off, and her tongue cut out. The word
ravished is an oxymoron. It has two definitions, fill with joy and delight or to rape. The audience picks
up the word ravished as two different meanings. One of them is Demetrius and Chiron are enjoying
the rape of Lavinia, while Lavinia is seen ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The more he mourns in front of Lavinia by saying do not draw back, for we will mourn with thee the
more he grieves, the more ineffectual it is, which does nothing to ease Lavinia s pain or her current

to Titus on how he will react when he see Lavinia s situation, What will whole months of tears thy
father s eyes? Do not draw back, for we will mourn with thee. Marcus believes that Titus will outpour
of grief that his daughter has lost her agency the loss of the ability to talk and the ability to act against
the rapists. The passage is focused on Marcus speech which contains the best poetry in Titus
Andronicus, it is mainly self consciously poetry. The lines that Shakespear produces for Marcus: Alas,
a crimson river of warm blood, a bubbling fountain stirred with wind, doth rise and fall between thy
rosed lips, coming and going with thy honey breath. These lines mainly describe Lavinia, to the

Fahrenheit 451 Analysis
My eyes widen as my dad hurtles past me in his neon green skis. I cringe as he accelerates towards the
end of the slope I know he s going to wipe out. My dad couldn t seem to make his skis face inwards in
a triangle to slow down. Like I expected, his arms fly through the air, and he plunges into the snow. I
can t resist laughing as I make my way down the slope and help my dad up. At the time, I only thought
about how funny it was, but looking back, I realize it contains an important lesson. When I was
younger, I believed adults were always right, that they always knew what to say and do. Thinking
about this memory, I realized that wasn t true adults are just as human as kids are. This knowledge has
helped me understand that I can t expect adults to succeed at everything just because they are adults.
In Fahrenheit 451,
Ray Bradbury foreshadows Montag s failure as an adult, similar to my foreshadow of my dad s
inability to ski. Through the use of a memory and a tough question, Bradbury hints that Montag will

Introduction Having the privilege to serve in the military has allowed this writer the opportunity to be
exposed to the pluralistic society in a way which has exposed him to the beauty of the diversity
enjoyed in American culture. One aspect of said diversity is the interaction which has taken place
amongst the Christian and various world religions who also wear the same uniform in defense of

There is a relation between power distance culture and reporting of workplace bullying. According to
Loh et. al. s (2010) comparative study shows that people from high PD environment tend to respond
and report less negatively then low PD culture as in high PD culture individuals tend to maintain the
relationship and accept their status in order to stay in their group. In high PD cultures bullies feel they
can get away with it and seems to flourish for e.g. army and paramilitary settings such as fire services
(Salin, 2003b). In contrast with Salin s (2003b) studies for effects of high PD in bullying behaviour
reporting, Bairy et. al. s (2007) research in India found that seniors doctors been bullied by junior
colleagues. Bairy s (2007) studies followed out in only one workplace using small sample size (174)
and needs further examination. However, Salin (2003b) carried out his research from variety of
organizations, professions and positions included large number of samples.
Conclusion
In high PD cultures show low level of creativity, more hierarchical and dependency upon relationship
(Loh et. al., 2010). Lack of confidence in management response creates fear of reporting for bullying
among victim(s). I believe that this study shows the direct relationship between high PD and risk of

The Believable Space In The Philadelphia Story
The Philadelphia Story creates a believable space by making storytelling its main focus. Like similar
classical films, this film provides little room to let the audience question anything happening onscreen,
as most objects given focus within the mise en scene are important for the story s progression. For
example, early in the film s screen time, Lord meets her fiancé, George Kittredge, at a stable with her

Epiphary In Katherine Mansfield s The Garden Party
There are many reasons behind an author s story. Mainly it is to portray a message, give a good laugh,
or explain a purpose, but the author will get their point across to their readers. In Katherine Mansfield
s, The Garden Party, she focuses on a young, upperclass girl, with the name of Laura Sheridan. During
the story, the Sheridan family is preparing to host a very lively garden party. Unfortunately for the
circumstance, there has been a death in their community. The Scott family, who is of the middle class,
had just lost their husband and their father. The wake for Mr. Scott just so happens to be during the
time of the garden party. The separation of classes causes an unsettling act of sympathy from Laura.
She can not decide whether to be on the right side or the wrong side of the situation. The death of Mr.
Scott allows Laura Sheridan to experience an epiphany, as she encounters the difference s between the
upper and middle classes, life and death, and a new perspective of life. Many people are often judged
by their appearances, living arrangements, or income status. That is how the world views and
classifies people to place them in a hierarchical stature.
There were a few middle class workers hired to set up a marquee at the Sheridan house. Since Laura
was considered to be the artistic one (EastoftheWeb 2) of her siblings, she was chosen to conduct the

Techniques Louis de Bernières Uses to Portray the Effects...
What techniques does Louis de Bernières use to portray the effects of the war so powerfully?
Louis de Bernières uses many techniques to portray the effects of the war as powerfully as he does. He
uses techniques that vary from use of language, to using the diary of a homosexual soldier. In the in
between there are other techniques such as: contrast of the good and bad effects of the war; death,
from the inside and the outside; or showing feelings from soldiers instead of numbers and figures.
From my point of view, the use of language is the technique that sticks out the most. He uses all sorts
of words, meanings, effects and even languages! Just as he uses sarcasm everywhere: War is a

The power of the words, and the roughness of what they are telling makes the reader feel incredibly
impressed by the cruelty of war, and the courage of soldiers. The fact that the use of language is the
most effective technique is perfectly logical, as words are the ones in charge of putting the message
through, and thanks to these words and the way in which they were used, the reader gets a real,
touching and effective feeling of how the war was. Of course, using different languages instead of
translating names of places and people gave even more sense of reality and the reader felt more in
touch with the characters and with the story being narrated.

Autonomy in Medicine Autonomy in Medicine Finneaus Parker National University February 8, 2013 Dr. Schlitz Autonomy is the personal rule of the self that is free from both controlling interferences by others and from personal limitations that prevent meaningful choice (Pantilat, 2008). Autonomous individuals act intentionally, with understanding, and without controlling influences. Respect for autonomy is one of the fundamental guidelines of clinical ethics. Autonomy in medicine is not simply allowing patients to make their own decisions. Physicians have an obligation to create the conditions necessary for autonomous choice in others. For a physician, respect for autonomy includes respecting an individual s right to self determination as well as ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the majority of their lives patients seek treatment from a family physician that has a general knowledge of their health status, behaviors, and family background. However, once patients reach the age where multiple ailments require the consultation of several specialists, care can become fragmented. The primary physician, who presumably knows the patient best, begins to play a smaller role in deciding treatments and consulting the patient s family on advance directives. This fragmentation and discontinuity of care is pervasive once the patient reaches the end of life, and thus helps explain why treatment decisions at the end of life often differ from the wishes of the family and even the patient. The relationship between a physician and his or her patient is inherently driven by outcomes. By default, a physician is trained to cure or mitigate the effects of the patient s illness until natural death. However, the instinctive behavior of physicians at the end of life can result in more harm by encouraging advanced treatments that reduce the quality of life in a patient s remaining days. Evidence has demonstrated that this leads to greater dissatisfaction among patients and their families, and it results in unnecessarily high instances of death in hospital ... For many years and by many Americans the Battle of Little BigHorn was looked at as a valiant effort by brave Americans to fight for what they believed in under a well organized and successful commanding officer. Through the accounts in this book, Philbrick shows us this was not necessarily the case. Custer and his men went into the battle extremely too overconfident and he seriously underestimated the power of his opposing army. This overconfidence caused a great lack of proper preparation for the battle by the US army which ultimately helped lead to their demise in this battle. Other factors that contributed to this loss were the facts that Custer did not have such great command over some of his officers. Several of them purposely disobeyed orders and acted upon their own whims. One officer in particular, Sargent Reno, showed up to the battle drunk and was seen drinking from a flask of amber liquid. The confusion, disorder and underestimation of the enemy all lead to the chaos and massacre that ensued on Custer and his men. The fight between Custer s men and the indians proved to be a rout, a panic till the last man was killed. Custer lead reckless charges down the hills and along the river and by Indian accounts, he was the first to be struck and killed. • 6. Emotional Intelligence And Psychological Depth EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL WELL BEING IN ADOLESCENTS The general concept of emotional intelligence (EI) is partly rooted in Thorndike s (1920) idea of social intelligence and Gardner s (1983) theory of multiple intelligences (especially intrapersonal and interpersonal intelligence). In the current context, EI asa construct was discussed in a dissertation by Payne (1986), even though as a term it had appeared in the literature much earlier (Leuner, 1966). Salovey and Mayer (1990) put forward a theoretical model that viewed the construct as a subset of social intelligence and Goleman (1995) provided a broad and highly influential account that has nonetheless attracted concerted criticism for its unsubstantiated claims about the vital importance of EI in people s personal, social and professional lives. The fact that the field still lacks a universally accepted operational definition has contributed significantly to the emergence of inconsistent and sometimes, contradictory findings that have often been discussed in the scientific literature (e.g. Davies, Stankov, Roberts, 1998; Epstein, 1998; Mathews, Zeidner, Roberts, 2002). Psychological well being has been approached differently by different researchers and views it in different ways. One view sees it according to the hedonic and eudaimonic approaches of early philosophers. Subjective well being was first used by Ryan and Deci (2001) as combination of pleasure, displeasure, satisfaction and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His study involved 40 male participants, aged 20 to 50, who were recruited through advertisements and mail solicitation. Participants had diverse occupations and educational levels. They came to a lab where they served as teachers in a supposed learning and memory experiment. A simulated shock generator with 30 switches was used. It was clearly marked with voltage levels and verbal designations ranging from 15 volts (slight shock) to 450 volts (danger: severe shock). The participants task was to administer an electric shock to the learner, a confederate of the experimenter, whenever he made an error in the memory test, increasing the intensity of shock each time. When the participant refused to administer a shock, the experimenter would give a series of prods to the participants to ensure that they continue with the experiment, even if they reached the marked danger of a severe shock, or heard the learner s screams and pounding from an adjacent room. The experiment ended when the maximum voltage of shock had been delivered, or if the participant refused to continue any further. The maximum intensity shock a participant was willing to administer before he refused to participate any further was measured. The results showed that 26 out of 40 (65%) participants obeyed the commands of the experimenter to the end, reaching the most potent shock ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In today s society, astrology has been an extremely fascinating belief and study among certain social groups. Many people are used to refer to the daily horoscope in newspapers and popular magazines. However, a large group of scientists and philosophers such as Thagard (1978) consider that astrology is a pseudoscience, but there is a small amount of scientific evidence on whether if it is truly a pseudoscience or not. Some of them discuss that the psychological belief in astrology of oneself is the consequence of his or her desperation in finding solutions to their personal problems such as marriage and career which can somehow affect their life because of its psychological effects (Bennett, 1998). Besides, astrology is considered as an ancestor of modern science which is supported by two aspects of discussions (Thomas, 1971). Furthermore, most scientists hold the opinion that astrology can not be trust because it is lack of scientific support. Nevertheless, according to Fitts Fitzgerald (1977), the fate of one person is determined at some level which is inevitable and inescapable. Moreover, Konstantinides (2004) contradict the idea that constellations are supposed to determine the characteristics of oneself in that everyone is different somehow even for twins. Adler s paper, How to Mark a Book, he argues the best way to get the most out of reading is to mark the book or paper, leaving ones thoughts on the pages. Some say this slows them down, or leaves behind a messy, ruined book, but Adler claims reading slower and writing thoughts down allows the reader and author to have a conversation that will enhance the readers understanding of the text. Through his paper, Adler attempts to use the rhetorical triangle of ethos, pathos, and logos to connect the audience to his paper and to convince them the best way to understand a text is through marking it. ... In the very beginning, there is an introduction about Adler which states things such as, He founded and fathered the Great Books Program, edited the Encyclopedia Britannica, and wrote dozens of books on educational, intellectual, and philosophical topics (Adler, n.d./2012, p.1). He also earned his PhD from Columbia University after dropping out of high school, demonstrating his dedication to learning. This sets the stage for the reader to feel that the author is a credible source for writing on this subject. As the article continues, Adler retains his credibility by mentioning other point of views. He says, You may say that this business of marking books is going to slow up your reading (Adler, n.d./2012, p.4). Although he does mention these other points of view, he refutes them quickly. • 15. A Different Perspective of Satan in Paradise Lost by John... In the first book of Paradise Lost, created by Milton, it can most accurately be perceived as Milton attempting to give the reader a different perspective on Satan, the greatest lost angel. In the first book of Paradise Lost, Milton writes about how Satan was the closest angel to God. Milton s attempt at making Satan a sympathetic character evolved after his original audience had seen it, because in modern times it is much easier to sympathize with Satan than it was many years ago. The perspective of Satan has changed a lot. In modern times, we view Milton s retelling of Satan s story as a story of struggling against great odds, Satan s being spoon fed powers, and Satan and the Fallen Angels optimism for Hell. In the first book of Paradise Lost, created by Milton, he writes about Satan s struggle against great odds in order to make Satan a more attractive character in his epic. For example, Th infernal Serpent; he it was, whose guile stird up with Envy and Revenge, deceiv d (from Milton s Paradise Lost, line; 34 35), in this example Milton wrote about how Satan was the closest angel to God, which meant that Satan s attempt to overthrow God was not entirely shocking considering how envious Satan was of God because God was considered more powerful than Satan. Thousands of pilgrims each year travel to Medjugorje each year to witness the visionary s appropriations. These apparitions are not approved by the Catholic Church yet. • 25. Excalibur My Three Favorite Scenes The movie Excalibur is a story about a king that is later known as the best king, but we still aren t sure if he was a real person or just imaginary. We are taught a lot about middle english through the reading and watching of Excalibur. One main thing that we are taught through Excalibur is the code of the knights. The code of the knights was to serve and protect your king while respecting everyone. While watching this movie I learned a lot about something that I look at as pointless at the beginning of the year. Many things in this movie have made me open my eyes and see the true meaning behind somethings. I have come on some of my favorite scenes that show the strengths of many people. This is one of my favorite scenes because they search for a year to find something that was thought to be gone. Gawain shows his worth as a knight and doesn t give up on finding the holy grail to save his king. Even though the movie Excalibur was a good movie every person will look at it in different ways. They claim that the government s health insurance mandate is constitutional based on the Commerce Clause that allows the federal government to expand its power in various ways by defining various activities as interstate commerce. The government is not claiming an individual s property, but is providing a compensation for the health premiums paid by each person (health insurance). Therefore, the health insurance requirement does not go against the Fifth Amendment s Taking Clause that states that the government cannot take a citizen s property without compensation for it. The supporters of ACA compare the health insurance mandate to minimum wage mandate. My dad couldn t seem to make his skis face inwards in a triangle to slow down. Like I expected, his arms fly through the air, and he plunges into the snow. I can t resist laughing as I make my way down the slope and help my dad up. At the time, I only thought about how funny it was, but looking back, I realize it contains an important lesson. When I was younger, I believed adults were always right, that they always knew what to say and do. Thinking about this memory, I realized that wasn t true adults are just as human as kids are. This knowledge has helped me understand that I can t expect adults to succeed at everything just because they are adults. In the in between there are other techniques such as: contrast of the good and bad effects of the war; death, from the inside and the outside; or showing feelings from soldiers instead of numbers and figures. The power of the words, and the roughness of what they are telling makes the reader feel incredibly impressed by the cruelty of war, and the courage of soldiers. Of course, using different languages instead of translating names of places and people gave even more sense of reality and the reader felt more in touch with the characters and with the story being narrated. However, another technique Louis de Bernières used when writing Captain Corelli´s Mandolin that really struck me, was the diary of a homosexual, Carlo Guercio. This can be described as the human part of the war. It just talks about the feelings and experiences of a soldier. What Carlo talks about is touching, moreover the way in which Louise de Bernières puts himself into a homosexual soldier´s position is amazing. He uses homosexual eyes to make us see the inside of a war in the most original way.
