Pride And Prejudice By Pride Essay
The Effects of Pride Pride is the feeling of satisfaction when someone achieve something, someone
close to you achieves something, or something somebody owns or has is admired by others. Being
proud of yourself or someone else is not always bad. However, some believe pride is negative and can
change how a person thinks and feels about certain things. It can be taken either way depending on
who, why, and when it is. Many people have written articles and have done research to determine
whether it is negative or positive. In the novel, Pride and Prejudice, pride is seen throughout the story
in people with a lot of money and with good looks. Different things can determine whether pride is
good or bad. Many studies have been done by psychologists to determine whether pride is a sin or just
an adaptive social emotion. A study was done at Northeastern University by two people, David
Desteno and Lisa Williams, who did a research report on their results. The experiment examined the
ability of pride to serve as an adaptive emotion within the context of social interaction (Desteno and
Williams 284). Pride is often viewed as a deadly sin and high moral behavior (Desteno and Williams).
They believe the function of pride is to motivate hedonically costly efforts aimed at acquiring skills
that increase one s status and value to one s status and value to one s social group (Desteno and
Williams). In their study, they took sixty two individuals and separated them into same sex groups

Korean War And North Korea
After World War II, Korea was divided into two parts. In the Northern part of Korea, Soviet Union
controlled with the Communist. North Korea, called Democratic People s Republic of Korea (DPRK),

The Adult Human Brain Retains a Large Amount of Plasticity
It is now widely recognised that the adult human brain retains a larger degree of plasticity than was
previously thought. This is perhaps particularly true of the neural mechanisms underlying sensory
perception, where substantial behavioural and neural changes have been demonstrated in a wide
variety of sensory functions following experience. Sensory plasticity has been recognised for its
rehabilitative potential, for instance through perceptual training regimes, which have been used to
improve visual function in adults with amblyopia, a developmental disorder of vision, and those with
central vision loss. Now a new study provides evidence for visual plasticity in adults with long
standing central vision loss who did not undergo any specific training (Chung, 2013a). Central vision
loss, primarily brought about by age related macular degeneration, is the leading cause of irreversible
blindness in the developed world (Bunce and Wormald, 2006). The vast majority of individuals with
central vision loss develop a preferred retinal locus (PRL), a specific region of the peripheral visual
field that they use to perform everyday tasks such as reading. However, peripheral vision is limited in
a number of ways in comparison to foveal vision. For example, in people with normal vision, reading
speed, contrast sensitivity and visual acuity are worse in the periphery compared to the fovea.
Additionally, peripheral vision is limited by visual crowding, which describes the increased

Happiness is Different for Each Person
Happiness
Simple things like a sight of an ice cream, the feel of your soft pillows, and the taste of marshmallows
can make a person happy but people often desire more things that they can t easily acquire. They
desire love, all the money in the world or maybe winning a nobel prize. Some people just maybe want
to have a good job, and a good family. Individuals will go through all sorts of things just to get what
they want. Without knowing, some people sacrifices something in order to achieve the happiness they
sought for. The short film, Dr. Horrible s Sing Along Blog suggests that an individual can
inadvertently sacrifice something in order to achieve their own happiness.
Happiness to every person is different. Each person desires something completely different from
another individual. In the short film, Dr. Horrible s wishes to get into the Evil League of Evil and
maybe ruling the world with the girl he s infatuated with, Penny. In the song Freeze Ray , Dr. Horrible
mentioned in the lyrics that: That s the plan. Rule the world. You and me. Any day. It seems that Dr.
Horrible wants Penny by his side when he finally rule the world. He pursued those happiness as he
made the weapon called Freeze Ray. To get into the Evil League of Evil he must do something
villainous . His first plan whoever failed and Bad Horse demanded him to murder someone. Under
some circumstances, Penny took fond of Captain Hammer. I would like to draw your attention that

Visual Analysis Of An Architectural Space
Visual Analysis of an Architectural Space The Cloisters The Cloisters Museum is unique in the sense
that you can walk into different rooms and automatically be in a different realm. It transports locations
that would ordinarily be great span away from each other, to, literally, within walking distances. The
Fuentidueña Chapel was one of these locations. Suddenly you were no longer in a museum in Fort
Tryon Park, but in the apse of a church of San Martin at Fuentidueña in Spain. If the fairly large
doorway to the room wasn t enough, stepping into the room makes one feel so small and insignificant.
The high ceiling and the large, spacious room puts a person into perspective about their size compared
to the rest of the world. The high ceiling probably seeks to bring a church connection closer to that of
the heavens and thus closer to God. Because of the large, open space in this room, sound travels with
ease from one end to another, which must have made sermons and services easily heard. The high
windows, or the clerestory, bring the room a source of light, and bring about this sense of feeling far
away from the rest of the outside world. The right wall is lined with a painting of significant trials and
events in Jesus life. Looking deeper into the room, attention is easily drawn towards a crowned Jesus
on the cross appearing to float in front of the detailed apse along with three smaller, thinner windows.
Behind the great crucifix, is the highly detailed fresco painting

Gross Domestic Product (Gdp) Is an Inadequate Measure of...
Title Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is an inadequate measure of societal well being and should be
replaced by the Human Development Index (HDI) Abstract This paper will discuss the anomally of
Human Development Index (HDI) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In this discussion I will argue
for HDI as a fairer comparison of a country s overall economic wealth health and social well being
rather than the generally accepted method used by most countries of GDP. HDI allows for a more
comprehensive understanding of well being than purely economic measurements like GDP, and better
identifies areas of need within countries. GDP is basicially a measure of a country s overall economic
output. It does not consider GDP per capita. If a country ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It would causes prices rise which in turn means people have to pay more for the same goods and
services. If individual income increases at a slower rate than inflation, people s standard of living
declines even if they are making more. Taking China as an example, China s obsession with high GDP
growth is part of the economics problem (http://www.businessinsider.com/china inflation hits new
high 2011 5, May, 2011). In 2010, over half of GDP growth was due to investment in fixed assets,
much of it fueled by cheap money and easy credit. Because of the rates of GDP growth due to
personal assets such as a reasonable investment, integration, inflation may bring assets to face a
serious risk of shrinking in the future. As Chovanec stated that the real challenge for China isn t
racking up ever higher GDP figures, but putting its economy on a more sustainable footing going
forward, even if that means lower rates of growth (http://www.businessinsider.com/china inflation hits
new high 2011 5, May, 2011). Comparing with other indicators, Human Development Index (HDI)
presents an innovative approach to measuring well being within affluent nations, and shows a more
detailed picture of societal well being than by just economic growth alone. A composite measure
called HDI was introduced to measure human development. This index focuses on three basic
dimensions: (1) GDP per capita at purchasing power parity (PPP) as measure of a decent

Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on GDP, Poverty and...
With tensions rising in Ukraine, Syria becoming a site of possible military intervention and the Arab
Spring movement prolonging internal conflict, It is important to look at examples from the near past to
understand the reasons behind trends so we might mitigate in a productive and beneficial way. Also it
is imprtant to understand the trends that occur after particular events so we might predict future needs.
This report will look at two developing countries, Serbia and Bosnia and Hercegovina(BIH), who
share a bloody past, one from the position of agresor, one of an occupied country. The aim is to see
how the the conflict and its consequences influenced their GDP, poverty levels and migrations. And
how has the change in those then influenced development work in the respective countries. The report
will further concentrate on the couses and effects of migration in the countries. The raw data was
collected from a number of sources and agregated to produce the tables shown.
Table 1. Table 1. represents Serbian GDP per capita. The graph shows a small decline in 1991,
marking the beginning of the war, probably due to the lack of demand from the former Yugoslav
market. Then from 1992 to 1995 it rises as a result of war industry. Up to 2002(Milosevic s rule) there
has been a serious decline followed by a rebound to 2006. Although influenced by the world economic
crisis, Serbian economics has recorded a steady rise from 2009.

The United Nations ( Un ) And The International Monetary Fund
The United Nations (UN) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) are two global organisations
which have played major roles in developing projects and policies and managing global finance and
inter country relations around the world. Currently, there is a need for these organisations to reform in
order to address the issues of the 21st century. The The UN and IMF were both established after the
Second World War by the U.S and British governments. As the US Secretary of State, Cordell Hull,
stated, from the moment when Hitler s invasion of Poland revealed the bankruptcy of all existing
methods to preserve peace, it became evident... that we must begin almost immediately to plan the
creation of a new system . Most of the planning of the design and structure of the UN was done by the
Americans and the British. It is an international organization designed to promote international law,
security, human rights, economic and social progress. 1Their main objective is to make the
enforcement of such easier for people all around the world. It comprises of 193 member countries and
its headquarters is in New York. This organization was expected to be a political body controlled by
the Great Powers (USA, UK and the USSR), who had taken upon themselves the responsibility of
safeguarding peace and security on behalf of all the nations of the world. Art.1 of the UN Charter sets

Three Types of Friends Essay
A friend is defined as someone emotionally close or somebody who trusts and is fond of another. The
affect that a person one calls his or her acquaintance can sometimes be very deep and heartfelt. From
my experience, I have encountered three types of friends: the chronic complainer, the staller, and the
know it all. A chronic complainer is a he or she that is fault finding. Chronic complainers choose to
blame someone else or something for his or her actions. Also, they are uncertain about what should be
done. I have this friend that I consider a chronic complainer; she never takes the blame for anything
and no matter what the situation is she s going to find a problem. There have been plenty of times that
we would go out to eat, and our ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The staller would not be of any help with moving or any other hard job. The person I know that fits
this description is not a friend but actually a family member. This person comes to do the simplest job
ever, but has to call two or three more people to come help him out. Instead of him helping he stands
there and gives out orders to everyone else. He also dose not get his important business handled; he
likes to sit around and wait until the last minute or until it s too late before he tries to do anything
about a situation. This is not someone who you would want helping you with some very important job.
Last but not least is the know it all. The know it all acts superior and makes others feel stupid. They
also maybe bullheaded and impatient; know it alls really don need or want any help. One of my
closest friends is a prime example of a know it all. She knows everything that is discussed and want
let anyone else put there say so in about the topic. One day one of my cousins and I were talking about
the cost of daycare and she just cut both of us off and went on talking about the different costs. She
didn t know what she was talking about because she dose not have any kids. So when I cut her off and
went to correcting her she got so mad with me because what I was saying made more sense than what
she was saying. Know it alls are the kinds of friends a person will have the most confrontations with.

Summary Of When Asia Was The World
In When Asia was the World, Stewart Gordon investigates how trade led to the spread of religion and
education/innovation. These factors were critical in Asia s rise to dominance. Throughout the book,
trade is discussed as a medium for culture to travel across large areas of land. It is this movement of
new ideas that catalyzed Asia s growth. Trade allowed religious ideas to spread very rapidly in Asia.
Many religions such as Buddhism required religious literature and spiritual objects. Often, these items
were traded around Asia and thus the religion they represented expanded to new areas. For example,
on the Intan Shipwreck, divers discovered miniature Buddhist shrines made of bronze. These objects
were produced for Buddhist worshippers all

Essay On Luis De Onis
Adams Onis international treaty signed in Washington on February 22, 1819 between the United

Signatories to the agreement were US Secretary of State John Adams and Spanish Foreign Minister

The United States has long tried to purchase from Spain the Florida but only in 1818 in the Spanish

Neutrality In My Brother Sam Is Dead
The American Revolution was a war of principles fought by Loyalists and Patriots. However,
Loyalists believed in neutrality, peace, and no brutality or treason. Therefore, Patriots believed in
freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, and the right to break away from the British government.
In the novel My Brother Sam is Dead created by James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier, a
family disputes over which side is right. James and Christopher Collier use the ironies of Life, Jerry,
and Sam s death to induce Tim s decision of neutrality. Firstly, Life s death contributes to Tim s
reasons to be neutral. For an instance, Tim finds out that father was taken by cowboys on the way back
from Verplanks Point. In June of that year, 1777, we found out that father was dead. ...it wasn t a
Rebel prison, ship it was a British one (164). Tim expects father would die because the cowboys had
already attacked him for cattle and he was a Loyalist. Tim discovers that loyalty is valued in the
British side. He thinks that why should he be loyal to a side that s dishonest. Tim chooses neutrality
because the Loyalists are deceptive, brutal, and aren t true to their word. Since Tim does not want to

manner after he single handedly vanquished the British army. Tim however does not expect Sam to die

The Between Heat And Energy
The term thermodynamics is known as the branch of physics that covers the relationship between heat
or temperature and all the forms of energy, including mechanical, electrical, or chemical.
Thermodynamics is a combination of four laws, which are known as zeroth law of thermodynamics,
first law of thermodynamics, second law of thermodynamics, and third law of thermodynamics.
According to Wolfram, The relation between heat and energy was important for the development of
steam engines, and in 1824 Sadi Carnot had captured some of the ideas of thermodynamics in his
discussion of the efficiency of an idealized engine (1019). After this statement was made, scientist
developed its laws. The term thermal equilibrium is when two bodies are at the same temperature.
Therefore, the zeroth law of thermodynamics states that if two bodies are in thermal equilibrium with
a third body, they are all in thermal equilibrium. In other words, they are all have the same
temperature. Joseph Black was one of the first scientist and physic known as founder of the zeroth law
of thermodynamics in the late 18th century.
The first law of thermodynamics states that heat energy can not be created or destroyed. It can be just
transformed into other forms or transferred into another location. Rudolf Clausius and William
Rankine were the first physics that made a full statement of the first law of thermodynamics in 1850.
It is also known as another version of the law of conservation of energy.

Analysis Of The Little Princess
Texts and Their Time Periods Burnett s The Little Princess constructs the child as being feminine,
motherly, polite, and rich as the ideal princess should be. Nonetheless, Sara is also given a great
imagination which is unlike other princesses, and allows her to escape the conflicts she comes across;
in her portrayal of The Little Princess Burnett s idea of a child being subjected to isolation and left to
provide for herself is dealt with through the use of Sara s imagination. The Hunger Games takes a
distinct approach, rather than demonstrating an ideal princess that must survive by providing for
herself by using her imagination, Collins displays a strong and independent girl who must kill and
gain knowledge about the world she live in to survive. The shift in contemporary literature
demonstrates that in today s society a woman can do more than just be beautiful, and have a the brains
to care for a male; A girl can also be physically strong, independent, and provide for herself and
others. Both the texts reflect different ideas of the actions a child is obligated to take in order to remain
alive. Additionally, both texts generate different ideas about the ideal young lady and the traits they
were expected to poses at the time. The Little Princess was initially a play that was written in the
golden age of children s literature, a time when authors focused on gender differences. Durning this
time period one can infer that social class and race were important. Social class

effective parenting
You might not often think of being a single parent family as a bonus for your kids. There have been
many sacrifices along the way, and plenty of times when you wished things were different. However,
there are some positive effects of single parenting that you should bear in mind as you raise your
children:
Positive Effect of Single Parenting #1: Developing Strong Bonds

Some parents may experience a sort of kicked in the gut feeling, others may be sad and withdrawn,
and still others, angry with themselves, the child, the situation, or God. In fact, theory and research on
the grieving process indicate that parents may have any or all of these reactions, and may alternate
between emotional states. Regarding your marriage, the most important factor is that you are able to
communicate with each other about what you are experiencing individually and as a couple, and that
you allow each other the space and time to process whatever feelings you experience in response to
your child s condition.
Fact
Elisabeth Kübler Ross identified five stages of grief: shock, denial, anger, bargaining, and acceptance.
Developmental psychologists have learned that not everyone experiences all of the stages in response
to loss, and that they can alternate, and even overlap. Overall, the goal is to accept and move through
the changeable process, not to finish grieving.
Parenting Style
Because a large part of your child s recovery will involve reassurance that his world is safe and
manageable, it will be important for you and your spouse to assess your parenting styles. Diana
Baumrind, in her classic work, identifies three different parenting styles: Authoritarian, Permissive,
and Authoritative. Authoritarian parents take the reins of control fully, and adhere to strict rules and
expectations for their children.

Homeless Population And The Homeless Families
This paper will talk about the homeless population and the homeless families. It will explore the
multiple causes of family homelessness and the struggle has on homeless family life. The three main
reasons for homeless families within America are the following: 1) the lack of affordable housing, 2)
low income 3) Inadequate federal subsidy. This paper will also give possible solutions to family
homelessness and improvement plans for the future.
Home is where the heart is. Pliny the Elder
We have come dangerously close to accepting the homeless situation as a problem that we just can t
solve. Linda Lingle
The McKinney Homeless Assistance Act of 1987 defined a homeless person as an individual who
lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate night time residence or a person who resides in a shelter, welfare
hotel, transitional program or place not ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation, such as
streets, cars, movie theaters, abandoned buildings, etc. Resent surveys conducted in the U.S. have
confirmed that the homeless population in America is extremely diverse and includes representatives
from all segments of society, including: the different gander, social class, color and age. The diversity
among people that are homeless reflects how difficult it is to generalize the causes of homelessness
and the needs of homeless people. Robert Rosenheck M.D., the author of Special Populations of
Homeless Americans, explains the importance of studying homelessness based on

and jack of all trades. Called to respond to various types of emergency incidents, disasters, and a
variety of other non emergent situations. On duty 24 hours a day, every day of the year, they respond
to calls day or night, in all types of weather. These highly trained professionals not only put out fires,
respond to medical calls, and motor vehicle accidents, they also respond to the little boy who gets his

frequently can reduce visibility up to zero and can cause severe if not fatal accidents on roadways and

Negotiating Hall s Caribbean Identity in Kincaid s Annie John
Negotiating Hall s Caribbean Identity in Kincaid s Annie John
In his article Negotiating Caribbean Identities, Stuart Hall attempts to relay to the reader the
complications associated with assigning a single cultural identity to the Caribbean people. Even
though the article is intended by the author to represent the Caribbean people as a splicing of a number
of different cultures, the processes Hall highlights are noticeable on an individual scale in the main
character of Jamaica Kincaid s novel, Annie John. Annie John s quest for self identification leads her
on a path strikingly similar to the one Hall describes. From Annie s journey, the reader might be able

Annie is literally her mother s daughter and her identity is completely based on her mother s actions.
The mother daughter relationship in Annie s quest for identity has been a favorite topic for critics. H.
Adlai Murdoch s article, Severing the (M)other Connection, deals specifically with that relationship
and its affect on Annie s identity. Murdoch separates Annie s growth into phases, the earliest of which
being an intense attachment with and affinity for her mother that does not foreshadow the conflict to
come. The critic writes that, There can be no doubt, then, of the extent to which Annie John identifies
with and valorizes the maternal image at this stage (Murdoch 330). Indeed, it is obvious from the text
that their relationship is powerful, though most critics would argue the validity of Annie s perspective.
The memory of the trunk and its contents, which the narrator seems to enjoy, Murdoch calls
representations of Annie s fragmented self and her need for self identity and self expression; they are
put into place here as a symbolic depiction of Annie herself, and thus of the mother s enclosure
containment, limitation, possession, and direction of her daughter s life and identity (Murdoch 330).
This view calls into question the narrator s reliability concerning her journey away from the mother
imposed identity into an identity of her own. This examination of her reliability will be a key element
of the later portions

The And Social Context Of Europe During A Post World War...
What is the role of consumerism in The Visit?
This piece is a direct examination of consumerism. On a broader scheme, The Visit surveys the social
context of Europe in a Post World War II environment. Like many play writers, Durrenmatt
demonstrates that his play, like all cultural manifestations, is a product of the socioeconomic and
hence ideological conditions of the time and place in which it was written, whether or not the author
intended it so. Because human beings are themselves products of their socioeconomic and ideological
environment, it is assumed that authors cannot help but create works that embody ideology of some
form. (Tyson 66). The consequential setting was one of reconstruction of the nation state through

This encircling social framework of materialism and yield is insightful of the drama s thematic
significance. It is also demonstrative of the perspective that administrates the development and
expansion of all cultures and the persons within it. The townspeople slowly begin to accept the idea of
consumerism and are depicted wearing new shoes. The possibility of so much capital seduces the
town people into procuring services via credit, overlooking the penalties that may follow. Claire
knows that, eventually, the townspeople will advance her plan for vengeance because of their present
economic crisis and their desire for wealth.
Who is commodified and how?
Commodify can be defined as the ability to treat something that cannot be owned or that everyone has
a right to like a product that can be bought and sold. Furthmore, many Marxist insights into human
behavior involve the damaging effects of capitalism on human psychology, and those damaging
effects often appear in our relationship to the commodity. For Marxism, a commdity s value lies not in
what it can do (use value) but in the money or other commodities for which it can be traded (exchange
value) or in the social status it confers on its owner (sign exchange value) (Tyson 62). In The Visit,
Claire commodifies sex as an item that can be purchased. Claire, herself, was also commodified when
she agreed to marry an old Armenian millionaire. The millionaire s

Futility Research Paper
Introduction
Futility is not a new concept to field of medicine. Hippocrates said that physicians should refuse to
treat those who are overmastered by their disease, realizing that in such cases medicine is powerless 1
.Forgoing (withdrawing or withholding) life sustaining measures, may sound a negative in
grammatical form, but it is a compassionate way of maintaining patient s dignity when these measures
of prolonging life seems to just defy death and not providing fruitful outcome, and also in a way, it
defines limits to technological advancement of the medical field 2,3.Physicians must realize that,
despite huge advances in medical science and technology, not everyone can be saved at all times.
Doing everything that is best for the patient may not always include life prolonging measures like

not connected; such as a cell phone without battery. A new form of internet systems is beginning to

system on the IOT is Telcare which comes in the form of a smart blood glucose monitor with wireless
capabilities. With over 29.1 million people living with diabetes in the Unites States alone, the potential
user base is significant enough for the transition to be worthwhile. Telcare makes the tracking of blood
glucose levels and storing of important information far simpler than it has been with the usual
methods. The creators of Telcare have very clearly thought through the finer points of the meter, as
connecting the device to a smart phone is not required; if done there are plenty of great apps to go
with it. Whether connected or not, it will still upload glucose readings to the database for physicians
and users to interact with. This friendly feature will surely help to bring some of the less tech savvy
users on board, such as the elderly. Most blood glucose meters are as simple as possible, Telcare is
helping to project meters into a new, more efficient, direction. Jawbone has probably the most price

Language In To The Lighthouse, By Virginia Woolf
Virginia Woolf (1882 1941) was a prolific writer, whose style changed with each new novel, and her
work represented the historical moment when art was integrated into society. Her modernist novel To
the Lighthouse stray s from the conventional forms of writing, concentrating not on the plot but on the
characters consciousness and physical development, producing an innovative type of narrative which
depicts realities beneath appearances, and at the same time brings about a deep exploration of the
human mind. To the Lighthouse was written in 1927 and it is considered a masterpiece due to the way
in which Woolf experimented with the stream of consciousness as well as with the emotional feelings
of her characters. The composition has relatively ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

These aspects are psychological elements that constitute the basis for a modernist writing, and as

in the dark places of psychology. (11) Though the novel contains a multitude of conventional narration

Abstract
Computer architecture is a set of rules that say how software and hardware interact to create a network
or platform. In other words computer architecture is the design of the network base on the needs of the
user, the system if it is there or needs to be built, and the technology that needs to go into the project.
System design is all how all the hardware is set up while the instruction set architecture is the program

A client/server architecture is an end to end systems that contains server hosts (contains the resources
and services needed by the client) and clients (users or workstations in the network). Most
client/server networks have more than one client to a server so that the system shares computing
power. There are a few different kinds of servers to include file sharing, printer services, email
services, database services, web services, and a server can used for it power. Clients can access all of
these different servers at one time and the servers can serve many clients. (Techopedia, 2014) For
large businesses with office throughout the country web based computing or cloud computing shows
the greatest benefit. In web based computing it is not the local computer doing all the work but rather
computers off site that do the work. The user s computer runs off of a cloud computing system s
interface software which uses the offsite network computers to do the work.
What OS file system should we use? I would recommend a Windows OS and file system. This is
because Windows is straight forward. There may be too many distributions of Linux, it s possible that
this is hurting Linux in the marketplace. It could be that the lack of a Linux distro from a major

Cat On A Hot Tin Roof Analysis
Horribly unbearable. The majority of people have been in a situation that could be described as just
that; unbearable. Most would give up; they would find a way out of the situation they despise so
dearly. Then there are those that know their situation is unbearable, but genuinely fear what their life
would be like without the situations they have become so used to. These people are afraid to jump into
the unknown, just like a cat would be on a hot tin roof. In Cat on a Hot Tin Roof by Tennessee
Williams, there are two characters who would be classified as cats, who decide to stick it out on the
roof. Brick Pollitt and Big Mama Pollitt are both burdened with the marriages they occupy. However,
both of them make the decision to fight the heat, and resist the jump off of their roof; this place they

Taking a Look at Islam and Judaims
Introduction Apart from Christianity, Islam and Judaism are two of the most influential religions in the
world, particularly in the Middle East. Although Judaism is not as large as Islam, it has impacted on
the world in a profound manner. While it s quite evident that both Islam and Judaism appear to be
having conflicting differences in terms of their doctrines, they are both know as Abrahamic religions
because they share a common origin in the Middle East through Abraham in the Hebrew Bible.
Nevertheless, Judaism is often considered to be the oldest of all the Abrahamic religions. Most
ethnographers have been more interested in understanding on how the convictions between the two
religions compare, based on their religious believes about God, afterlife, the universe and people. This
can be attributed to the fact that the conflict between Islam and Judaism has been viewed as a result of
irreconcilable clash of religious doctrines. But, I do not believe that this is really the case. This essay
will focus on drawing a comparison between Judaism and Islam so as to establish the similarities and
differences that exist between them. The comparison will then be used to support my opinion based on
the ides that these religions can live together peacefully and that they are not destined for perpetual
conflict.

There are several doctrines and historical events that can be linked to the two religions. Both Islam
and Judaism believe in the existence of one creator

The Life and Writing of William Faulkner Essay
The birth of the modernist movement in American literature was the result of the post World War I
social breakdown. Writers adopted a disjointed fragmented style of writing that rebelled against
traditional literature. One such writer is William Faulkner, whose individual style is characterized by
his use of stream of consciousness and writing from multiple points of view. World War I had a more
profound effect on society than wars prior. With new deadly weapons, like poison gas, high death
tolls, and the first occurrence of total war, shocked the world, tearing people between the modern and
the tradition. Traditional society was torn down by the destruction of the war. As with most literary

His actually education only goes as far as one year at the University of Mississippi. After leaving
Oxford and living in New Haven, Connecticut for a few years, Faulkner joined the British Royal
Flying Corps. He never served active duty, as the war ended before his training did. Faulkner returned
home and began writing poetry. But his early writing was more of the traditional style a mix of
Shakespeare, Victorian, and Edwardian. It wasn t until a trip to New Orleans in 1925 that he began to
fiddle with his writing style, after a friend encouraged him to write more Southern based prose. His
style also grew as he began reading James Joyce, a high modernist writer, and Sigmund Freud, and
also took a trip to Europe the center of modernist writing. With these influences, Faulkner began
writing novels about Southern society, with an emphasis on the psychology of the characters. For
example, in his novel The Sound and the Fury, Faulkner writes from four different points of view; the
first three sections are of each of the three brother s point of view, and the last section is omniscient.
His writing also plays with chronology, not always following a specific timeline. The disjointedness of
time is very prominent in As I Lay Dying. About the death of a mother, the 59 inner monologues and
fifteen characters make the book more about the characters psychology rather than a

Example Of Culture Jamming
This essay will unpack the ways in which hegemonic discourses are subverted to present
counterhegemonic discourses focusing on the Tokolos stencil on page two. It shall equally consider
the potential and limitations of such a practice in a South African context. Finally, this essay will argue
that culture jamming brings about liberal pluralism and leads to a critical pedagogy by encouraging
people to do reverse engineering and question the dominant ideologies set in place.
Culture jamming is a form of media activism where hegemonic discourses are disputed though the
subversion of media texts to create a new counterhegemonic meaning. According to Klein, it is the
practice of parodying advertisements and hijacking billboards in order to drastically alter their
messages (2001: 280). Another definition is, A form of media activism that subverts and reworks the
intended meaning of existing media texts or parodies major corporations, public figures, and their
media images (Stadler O Shaughnessy, 2005: 188).
Hegemony in this case means the success of the dominant classes in presenting their definition of
reality, their view of the world, in such a way that it is accepted by other classes as common sense .

platform used by the advertiser to create a new message via mimesis. It can be described as some sort

Gulf Of Tonkin Resolution Essay
On August 7, 1964, Congress passed the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which authorized Johnson to take
necessary measures to retaliate and promote the peace and security in Southeast Asia. Congress was
definitely wrong in doing so. The results of the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution were too chaotic and too
violent to overlook. By 1964, the US desperate to contain communism had already sent troops to
support South Vietnamese leader, Ngo Dinh Diem. Ngo Dinh Diem couldn t end communist
infiltrations of the South; such infiltrations were otherwise known as the Viet Cong (South Vietnamese

On August 2, they reported an attack by the North Vietnamese patrols; the destroyer USS Maddox was
pursued and fired upon by three North Vietnamese torpedo boats. Maddox supposedly fired three
warning shots prior to this and then overkilled the torpedo targets. In other words, the Maddox
expended over 280 3 and 5 inch shells in the sea battle, ³ which resulted in one slightly damaged US
aircraft and boat, three damaged North Vietnamese torpedo boats, and 10 North Vietnamese casualties.
Following this minor attack was a second aggression on the 4th of August in which false radar images
were found; thus, no real North Vietnamese torpedo boats were around the radar signals. Despite the
second attack literally being nothing, Johnson asked congress for permission to defend US forces in
Southeast Asia ⁴. The request was later passed by congress; otherwise known as the only aspect of the
government that could approve of waging, according to the

Yann Martel’s Life of Pi
Pi Patel in Yann Martel s Life of Pi is a young Indian boy who is put through a tremendous traumatic
experience; he gets lost at sea! Not only does he lose all his family, but he is forced to survive 227
days at sea with very limited resources. This ordeal causes great psychological pressure on Pi and
causes his mind to find ways to cope with all the stress. When asked to describe what happened, Pi
tells two stories: one with him surviving with animals including an adult Bengal tiger named Richard
Parker, and a parallel story with humans in which Pi is forced to bend morality. Pi s story of his
survival with Richard Parker is a fiction that he creates to cope with a reality that is too difficult to
face. Undoubtedly, Pi s story with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pi is at sea for 227 days. Surviving that long alone is nothing short of a miracle. Another thing is that
in Pi s second story, Pi states the tragic events that he is put through. For example, he watched his
mother get murdered, he killed the cook, and he was forced to resort to cannibalism. Pi says, I
descended to a level of savagery I never imagined possible (197). This shows his particular struggle
with keeping to his vegetarian way and how much it hurt him that he had to break his vegetarian ways
to survive. All these show why he would want to suppress this experience with a story filled with
animals. Additionally, late in his journey Pi says, It was natural that, bereft and desperate as I was, in
the throes of unremitting suffering, I should turn to God (283 284). This shows how religiously
connected he was throughout his journey. In addition, it shows how Pi could have created the Richard
Parker story to align it with a miracle filled story that was created to show belief in religion can save
you. Pi s story s main purpose may be to make the listener believe in god and attribute his survival to
such higher power. Pi s specific reason for creating the Richard Parker story is unclear, but there is no
doubt a multitude of reasons that would justify why Pi would want to create the Richard Parker story.
Unquestionably, both stories have extreme parallelism that

Robert Ross the Anti-Hero
Robert Ross whole life he grew up in a household where they did what was expected of them, rather
than what was right. The type of people that Findley place in Robert s life is what molds him into the
type of character he becomes. Timothy Findley manipulates what a hero is supposed to be, by making
Robert Ross a distorted kind of hero. Robert Ross exemplifies anti heroism throughout the text
because of his need to be a savior but inability to do so, his morals and his connection with animals.
Robert Ross becomes the anti hero because of his need of to save others but inability to do so; Robert,
himself, is not aware of the fact that all he wants to do is save others because he could not save the one
person he cared about, Rowena: It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Countless times Robert follows what he thinks is morally right, disregarding the consequences of his
actions.
Throughout the book, Robert Ross was dependent on his sister, Rowena, and the animals he felt so
connected to. Robert more than anything becomes a person who relies more on animals, than he does
people. Robert s reliance on animals starts because of his sister s love for her rabbits: Can the rabbits
stay forever, too? Yes, Rowena. (18) His dependence on animals only strengthens as the book goes on,
and when Rowena dies, he turns to the animals for guidance and as a replacement for Rowena. On
many different occasions, Robert displays his love for animals and disconnection from the real world:
Robert soon became completely disengaged from the other life on the upper decks. He even went
below off duty. (56) Robert shows his lack of connection with the other soldiers on board, and
demonstrates his relationship he developed with the animals in the army. Robert s connection
strengthens with animals so much, that towards the end of the book he is willing to break military
rules and attempt to save them: I m going to break ranks and save these animals. (183) The heroes, we
are custom to today, would not go against the rules to save a bunch of horses. Even though, most
would not see Robert as being heroic, because he broke the rules, it was his intentions behind his
actions. As

Barack Obama s President Of The United States
A promise, including trust, is a statement that assures an individual it will be accomplished. When a
promise is made by a person and it is kept, they are seen as reliable or able to be counted on in the
future. If the promise is broken, the person is seen as untrustworthy. Candidates are known for making
promises during their campaign election to the public in order to win. For a candidate to win, he or she
assures the public they will do a particular thing or make a change if they are elected. Many voters
have trust issues because the candidate who wins the election often tends to abandon those promises.
The voter must ask his or herself if this candidate is qualified for the promises that are being made or

wrote the article, Obama s First Year Mocks Campaign Promises. Ryan said, It is clear that the reality
of his agenda bears little resemblance to the hopeful vision most Americans had when he was

situations at the time giving statements like mounting job losses, unrelenting healthcare cost increases,
the unsustainable path of federal spending and the looming entitlement crisis (Ryan 18). All this was

Examples Of Grit In The Outsiders
Imagine you re surrounded and your friend is being attacked. What do you do next? If you re Johnny
Cade, you murder the leader of the group with your switchblade. This is particularly odd since he s the
gentlest person in your gang. Would you show grit in this crucial moment like he did, or would you
head for the hills? Let s talk more about grit; it stands for growth, resilience, instinct, and tenacity.
Johnny s passion is a blatant example of grit. Grit is passion and perseverance for very long term
goals, Angela Duckworth, the term s creator, states in a TED Talk. The Outsiders character Johnny
Cade demonstrates this precious quality in two ways. He displays growth and passion when he
overcomes his terror and defends his friend, respectively.

The Importance Of A Thorough Home Inspection
A thorough home inspection is one of the most important steps before purchasing a home, and many
buyers try to skip this step only to end up regretting it later when problems become apparent. Your
home is the place you go to get away from the world, and to relax and put your feet up, or spend time
with your family and friends. You want to be reassured that the home you buy is safe and in good
condition. A home inspection can give you this peace of mind, using a visual inspection of every
aspect of the home both inside and out. This should be done by a professional home inspector who has
the education, knowledge, and experience needed to identify problems which may not be readily
apparent.
There are some questions you should ask any prospective home inspection company, and things to
consider, to guarantee you get a thorough and complete inspection. How long has the inspector been
doing these inspections? How many home inspections does the inspector do in a year? How much
experience does the home inspector have inspecting homes identical to the one you are buying? These
questions are important, because without adequate experience the inspector may miss signs of a
hidden problem. Choose a home inspection company that exclusively does only home inspections, and
does not just practice this as a sideline to their day job. Ask about the reports that will be given, will
you get a written report, an oral report, or both? Does the home inspection company have
certification? Do they

Re reading the post that I shared, the one that came in from Detroit via The Guardian, Pimp My Bike,
I thought about the city of Baton Rouge. In the article from Detroit the author pointed out the
diversified group of participants at the rides that they put on, and how much fun was had by all. In my
travels around Baton Rouge I, have noted the diversity of the cycling community in our fair city. Of
those who use a bike daily, I have noted that there are those who obviously have little choice but to
use a bike or walk for transportation. There are those who use a bike in conjunction with public transit
to get around. There are also those who choose to ride a bike for transportation because it is ... Show

There is a bike out there for anyone and everyone that wants to get out there and have some fun, get a
little exercise, and fresh air. There is no rule that says that you should become an all day, everyday
cyclist. Being a weekend rider or leisure cyclist is great fun, you have a hobby, you are getting some
exercise and having a good time at it. Commuting to work or school is not something that everyone
can do. Those of us who are fortunate, enough to be able to do so, know how lucky we are. Bike
riding is a privilege. Those of us who ride, and are involved in the advocacy movement are more than
aware of how it is a precarious situation. On the one hand, we have those who would support us in
power to make the decisions that will make it easier and safer to walk and ride a bike in Baton Rouge.
On the other hand, there are those who think that bikes are for kids and should be kept off the streets
period. If you ask most police officers what the laws are about bicycles and the roads you would
probably find out that a lot of them don t know. Do bikes belong on the roads or the sidewalks? In
truth, bikes are breaking the law by riding on the sidewalks, yet the police do not enforce this law.
That it is a good thing because there are places in Baton Rouge where riding a bike in traffic, on the
street is the equivalent of having a death

Fennekin s Life Is Hard-Personal Narrative
The sun was rising in the east when I left Aquacorde town that morning. I balanced along the walls of
the bridge across Corde River, crossing over into Route Two. Jumping down on the other side, I
tucked my fringe behind my ear, turning my head to the side to view what was usually a blind spot. A
line of trees stood in my sightline, following the line of the river as it trailed along Kalos. Santalune
Forest was directly in front of me, the first of many obstacles I would have to go through to challenge
the League. I slowly headed towards its dark entrance, trying to push the thoughts of what pokémon I
would find inside to the back of my mind. I could deal with those later. I ran my hands over my arms,

  • 2. Pride And Prejudice By Pride Essay The Effects of Pride Pride is the feeling of satisfaction when someone achieve something, someone close to you achieves something, or something somebody owns or has is admired by others. Being proud of yourself or someone else is not always bad. However, some believe pride is negative and can change how a person thinks and feels about certain things. It can be taken either way depending on who, why, and when it is. Many people have written articles and have done research to determine whether it is negative or positive. In the novel, Pride and Prejudice, pride is seen throughout the story in people with a lot of money and with good looks. Different things can determine whether pride is good or bad. Many studies have been done by psychologists to determine whether pride is a sin or just an adaptive social emotion. A study was done at Northeastern University by two people, David Desteno and Lisa Williams, who did a research report on their results. The experiment examined the ability of pride to serve as an adaptive emotion within the context of social interaction (Desteno and Williams 284). Pride is often viewed as a deadly sin and high moral behavior (Desteno and Williams). • 5. The Adult Human Brain Retains a Large Amount of Plasticity It is now widely recognised that the adult human brain retains a larger degree of plasticity than was previously thought. This is perhaps particularly true of the neural mechanisms underlying sensory perception, where substantial behavioural and neural changes have been demonstrated in a wide variety of sensory functions following experience. Sensory plasticity has been recognised for its rehabilitative potential, for instance through perceptual training regimes, which have been used to improve visual function in adults with amblyopia, a developmental disorder of vision, and those with central vision loss. Now a new study provides evidence for visual plasticity in adults with long standing central vision loss who did not undergo any specific training (Chung, 2013a). Central vision loss, primarily brought about by age related macular degeneration, is the leading cause of irreversible blindness in the developed world (Bunce and Wormald, 2006). The vast majority of individuals with central vision loss develop a preferred retinal locus (PRL), a specific region of the peripheral visual field that they use to perform everyday tasks such as reading. However, peripheral vision is limited in a number of ways in comparison to foveal vision. For example, in people with normal vision, reading speed, contrast sensitivity and visual acuity are worse in the periphery compared to the fovea. Additionally, peripheral vision is limited by visual crowding, which describes the increased ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Visual Analysis Of An Architectural Space Visual Analysis of an Architectural Space The Cloisters The Cloisters Museum is unique in the sense that you can walk into different rooms and automatically be in a different realm. It transports locations that would ordinarily be great span away from each other, to, literally, within walking distances. The Fuentidueña Chapel was one of these locations. Suddenly you were no longer in a museum in Fort Tryon Park, but in the apse of a church of San Martin at Fuentidueña in Spain. If the fairly large doorway to the room wasn t enough, stepping into the room makes one feel so small and insignificant. The high ceiling and the large, spacious room puts a person into perspective about their size compared to the rest of the world. The high ceiling probably seeks to bring a church connection closer to that of the heavens and thus closer to God. Because of the large, open space in this room, sound travels with ease from one end to another, which must have made sermons and services easily heard. The high windows, or the clerestory, bring the room a source of light, and bring about this sense of feeling far away from the rest of the outside world. The right wall is lined with a painting of significant trials and events in Jesus life. Looking deeper into the room, attention is easily drawn towards a crowned Jesus on the cross appearing to float in front of the detailed apse along with three smaller, thinner windows. Title Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is an inadequate measure of societal well being and should be replaced by the Human Development Index (HDI) Abstract This paper will discuss the anomally of Human Development Index (HDI) and Gross Domestic Product (GDP). In this discussion I will argue for HDI as a fairer comparison of a country s overall economic wealth health and social well being rather than the generally accepted method used by most countries of GDP. HDI allows for a more comprehensive understanding of well being than purely economic measurements like GDP, and better identifies areas of need within countries. GDP is basicially a measure of a country s overall economic output. It does not consider GDP per capita. If a country ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It would causes prices rise which in turn means people have to pay more for the same goods and services. If individual income increases at a slower rate than inflation, people s standard of living declines even if they are making more. Taking China as an example, China s obsession with high GDP growth is part of the economics problem (http://www.businessinsider.com/china inflation hits new high 2011 5, May, 2011). In 2010, over half of GDP growth was due to investment in fixed assets, much of it fueled by cheap money and easy credit. Because of the rates of GDP growth due to personal assets such as a reasonable investment, integration, inflation may bring assets to face a serious risk of shrinking in the future. These factors were critical in Asia s rise to dominance. Throughout the book, trade is discussed as a medium for culture to travel across large areas of land. It is this movement of new ideas that catalyzed Asia s growth. Trade allowed religious ideas to spread very rapidly in Asia. The Between Heat And Energy The term thermodynamics is known as the branch of physics that covers the relationship between heat or temperature and all the forms of energy, including mechanical, electrical, or chemical. Thermodynamics is a combination of four laws, which are known as zeroth law of thermodynamics, first law of thermodynamics, second law of thermodynamics, and third law of thermodynamics. According to Wolfram, The relation between heat and energy was important for the development of steam engines, and in 1824 Sadi Carnot had captured some of the ideas of thermodynamics in his discussion of the efficiency of an idealized engine (1019). After this statement was made, scientist developed its laws. The term thermal equilibrium is when two bodies are at the same temperature. Therefore, the zeroth law of thermodynamics states that if two bodies are in thermal equilibrium with a third body, they are all in thermal equilibrium. In other words, they are all have the same temperature. Joseph Black was one of the first scientist and physic known as founder of the zeroth law of thermodynamics in the late 18th century. The first law of thermodynamics states that heat energy can not be created or destroyed. It can be just transformed into other forms or transferred into another location. Regarding your marriage, the most important factor is that you are able to communicate with each other about what you are experiencing individually and as a couple, and that you allow each other the space and time to process whatever feelings you experience in response to your child s condition. Fact Elisabeth Kübler Ross identified five stages of grief: shock, denial, anger, bargaining, and acceptance. Developmental psychologists have learned that not everyone experiences all of the stages in response to loss, and that they can alternate, and even overlap. Overall, the goal is to accept and move through the changeable process, not to finish grieving. Parenting Style Because a large part of your child s recovery will involve reassurance that his world is safe and manageable, it will be important for you and your spouse to assess your parenting styles. Diana Baumrind, in her classic work, identifies three different parenting styles: Authoritarian, Permissive, and Authoritative. Authoritarian parents take the reins of control fully, and adhere to strict rules and expectations for their children. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Homeless Population And The Homeless Families This paper will talk about the homeless population and the homeless families. It will explore the multiple causes of family homelessness and the struggle has on homeless family life. The three main reasons for homeless families within America are the following: 1) the lack of affordable housing, 2) low income 3) Inadequate federal subsidy. This paper will also give possible solutions to family homelessness and improvement plans for the future. Home is where the heart is. Pliny the Elder We have come dangerously close to accepting the homeless situation as a problem that we just can t solve. Linda Lingle The McKinney Homeless Assistance Act of 1987 defined a homeless person as an individual who lacks a fixed, regular, and adequate night time residence or a person who resides in a shelter, welfare hotel, transitional program or place not ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation, such as streets, cars, movie theaters, abandoned buildings, etc. Resent surveys conducted in the U.S. have confirmed that the homeless population in America is extremely diverse and includes representatives from all segments of society, including: the different gander, social class, color and age. The diversity among people that are homeless reflects how difficult it is to generalize the causes of homelessness and the needs of homeless people. The mother daughter relationship in Annie s quest for identity has been a favorite topic for critics. H. Murdoch separates Annie s growth into phases, the earliest of which being an intense attachment with and affinity for her mother that does not foreshadow the conflict to come. The critic writes that, There can be no doubt, then, of the extent to which Annie John identifies with and valorizes the maternal image at this stage (Murdoch 330). Indeed, it is obvious from the text that their relationship is powerful, though most critics would argue the validity of Annie s perspective. The memory of the trunk and its contents, which the narrator seems to enjoy, Murdoch calls representations of Annie s fragmented self and her need for self identity and self expression; they are put into place here as a symbolic depiction of Annie herself, and thus of the mother s enclosure containment, limitation, possession, and direction of her daughter s life and identity (Murdoch 330). On a broader scheme, The Visit surveys the social context of Europe in a Post World War II environment. Robert s connection strengthens with animals so much, that towards the end of the book he is willing to break military rules and attempt to save them: I m going to break ranks and save these animals. (183) The heroes, we are custom to today, would not go against the rules to save a bunch of horses. Even though, most would not see Robert as being heroic, because he broke the rules, it was his intentions behind his actions. As ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 45. Barack Obama s President Of The United States A promise, including trust, is a statement that assures an individual it will be accomplished. When a promise is made by a person and it is kept, they are seen as reliable or able to be counted on in the future. If the promise is broken, the person is seen as untrustworthy. Candidates are known for making promises during their campaign election to the public in order to win. For a candidate to win, he or she assures the public they will do a particular thing or make a change if they are elected. Many voters have trust issues because the candidate who wins the election often tends to abandon those promises. • 47. The Importance Of A Thorough Home Inspection A thorough home inspection is one of the most important steps before purchasing a home, and many buyers try to skip this step only to end up regretting it later when problems become apparent. Your home is the place you go to get away from the world, and to relax and put your feet up, or spend time with your family and friends. You want to be reassured that the home you buy is safe and in good condition. A home inspection can give you this peace of mind, using a visual inspection of every aspect of the home both inside and out. This should be done by a professional home inspector who has the education, knowledge, and experience needed to identify problems which may not be readily apparent. There are some questions you should ask any prospective home inspection company, and things to consider, to guarantee you get a thorough and complete inspection. How long has the inspector been doing these inspections? How many home inspections does the inspector do in a year? How much experience does the home inspector have inspecting homes identical to the one you are buying? These questions are important, because without adequate experience the inspector may miss signs of a hidden problem. Choose a home inspection company that exclusively does only home inspections, and does not just practice this as a sideline to their day job. Ask about the reports that will be given, will you get a written report, an oral report, or both? Does the home inspection company have certification? Do they ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 48. Diversified Subculture Diversified Subculture Anyone can play... Re reading the post that I shared, the one that came in from Detroit via The Guardian, Pimp My Bike, I thought about the city of Baton Rouge. In the article from Detroit the author pointed out the diversified group of participants at the rides that they put on, and how much fun was had by all. In my travels around Baton Rouge I, have noted the diversity of the cycling community in our fair city. Of those who use a bike daily, I have noted that there are those who obviously have little choice but to use a bike or walk for transportation. There are those who use a bike in conjunction with public transit to get around. There are also those who choose to ride a bike for transportation because it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is a bike out there for anyone and everyone that wants to get out there and have some fun, get a little exercise, and fresh air. There is no rule that says that you should become an all day, everyday cyclist. Being a weekend rider or leisure cyclist is great fun, you have a hobby, you are getting some exercise and having a good time at it. Commuting to work or school is not something that everyone can do. Those of us who are fortunate, enough to be able to do so, know how lucky we are. Bike riding is a privilege. Those of us who ride, and are involved in the advocacy movement are more than aware of how it is a precarious situation. On the one hand, we have those who would support us in power to make the decisions that will make it easier and safer to walk and ride a bike in Baton Rouge. On the other hand, there are those who think that bikes are for kids and should be kept off the streets period. If you ask most police officers what the laws are about bicycles and the roads you would probably find out that a lot of them don t know. Do bikes belong on the roads or the sidewalks? In truth, bikes are breaking the law by riding on the sidewalks, yet the police do not enforce this law. That it is a good thing because there are places in Baton Rouge where riding a bike in traffic, on the street is the equivalent of having a death ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 50. Fennekin s Life Is Hard-Personal Narrative The sun was rising in the east when I left Aquacorde town that morning. I balanced along the walls of the bridge across Corde River, crossing over into Route Two. Jumping down on the other side, I tucked my fringe behind my ear, turning my head to the side to view what was usually a blind spot. A line of trees stood in my sightline, following the line of the river as it trailed along Kalos. Santalune Forest was directly in front of me, the first of many obstacles I would have to go through to challenge the League. I slowly headed towards its dark entrance, trying to push the thoughts of what pokémon I would find inside to the back of my mind. I could deal with those later.
