Essay On Value Of Education
Crafting an essay on the subject of the value of education poses both challenges and
opportunities. On one hand, the topic is broad and essential, allowing for a myriad of
perspectives and arguments. However, this very expansiveness can make it daunting to narrow
down one's focus and create a coherent narrative.
The difficulty lies in striking the right balance between highlighting the overarching importance
of education and delving into specific aspects that contribute to its value. It requires a careful
examination of historical, social, and personal dimensions, demanding a comprehensive
understanding of educational systems, their evolution, and the role they play in shaping
individuals and societies.
Moreover, the task involves navigating through a vast sea of information, theories, and statistical
data. Selecting relevant and impactful evidence is crucial to support the essay's arguments
effectively. The challenge intensifies when attempting to engage the reader emotionally while
maintaining an objective and analytical tone.
The pressure to deliver a unique perspective on such a widely discussed topic can be
overwhelming. It necessitates creativity and critical thinking to avoid clichГ©s and provide fresh
insights. Striking the right chord between eloquence and simplicity is another hurdle, as
conveying profound ideas in a digestible manner is an art in itself.
In summary, composing an essay on the value of education requires a delicate balance between
depth and accessibility, a thorough exploration of various dimensions, and the ability to
synthesize information coherently. The task demands not only academic prowess but also a keen
awareness of the societal and personal implications of education.
If you find yourself struggling with such essays or need assistance with various topics, consider

My Leadership Philosophy Of Nursing
I knew that I wished to be a nurse towards the end of my time in high school. While
I enjoy the opportunity to help people I found that nursing is heavily based in
scientific and system theory. Many years ago as a young lieutenant I attended a
leadership breakfast with the Air Force Chief of the Nurse Corps. Over the course
of the breakfast she opened the discussion up to our questions. I was pursuing my
Clinical Nurse Leader Master s degree and I asked her why the Air Force had
chosen to focus on the Clinical Nurse Specialist track. Her response was that nursing
was still considered a job or a trade; rather than a profession, in large part due to the
varied educational tracks. My encounter with Major General Siniscalchi and

By working as a secret shopper nurse prior to assuming command I can identify
those individuals possible of identifying and enacting the systems process that do
need to be changed. Real change is never achieved just by one person but by many.
For the interview portion of the paper I spoke with an Army Commander who was
with me on my recent deployment. He recounted a leadership challenge that
occurred when he was the Commander of a MEDEVAC company on an extended
deployment to Honduras. The mission in Honduras was to provide MEDEVAC
coverage to various humanitarian mission in Honduras and El Salvador. During a
humanitarian mission to bring medical aid to a geographically remote town in El
Salvador 1 MEDEVAC helicopter crashed. The crash occurred approximately 4
months into the Army Commander s rotation as the commander of the
MEDEVAC Company. The helicopter landing zone (HLZ) selected for the
mission was located along mountainous terrain and was only approachable along 1
side due to power lines. The second helicopter of a 2 ship mission approached the
landing zone and upon making the turn to land lost power. The junior pilot
relinquished flight controls to the senior pilot. Ultimately, the pilot in command
was unable to regain power and he executed a controlled crash. The crash site was
adjacent to the HLZ. The helicopter landed canted along a slop 1 2 feet from a 10
15 foot deep ravine. The rotor blades made contact with a tree that was providing

Criminal Athletes Zero Tolerance
In the article For criminal athletes: Strike one, You re out; college and professional
sports should address the link between athletes and crime by adopting a zero
tolerance policy written by the Wisconsin State Journal. It states how it is time for
the sports world to adopt a zero tolerance policy for athletes who break the law.
Studies show that athletes are actually less likely to commit a crime than non
athletes. The number of crimes involving athletes or student athletes is constantly
rising. People do not want athletes who commit crimes to go through the justice
system but to have the sports world act instead. Considering the benefits athletes ...

Social Status is an individual s position in a stratified social order (Conley A 11).
In other words certain people maybe look at athletes differently because they play
a sport, and because of there accomplishments. Kids look them at as role models;
they are heroes by younger athletes, and as a positive image to the human race. And
once people see professional and college athletes commit a crime or do something
wrong they are not setting a good example. Every sport is getting more and more
strict with a zero tolerance policy; it has not been stopping the players from
committing the crimes, but only resulting in more and more suspensions. In 1993,
Charles Barkley said in his famous Nike ad, I am not a role model. I am not paid to
be a role model. I am paid to wreak havoc on the basketball court. Parents should be
role models. Just because I dunk a basketball doesn t mean I should raise your kids

anyone, they get paid to play a sport and that is
Measuring Crime And Crime Statistics
Measuring crime helps criminal justice agencies to reflect on the effectiveness of
policies in existence and correctly target resources. Crime statistics are therefore
central to solving crime in England and Wales. In order for crime to be tackled
effectively, it is vital that it is measured accurately. There are two sources of crime
statistics published annually in the UK namely policerecorded crime and the Crime
Survey of England and Wales. According to the Crime Survey of England and
Wales, in total there were 7.1 million incidents of crime in 2013 2014. Although
there has been an 11% reduction in crime, several categories of crime such as
sexual offences, fraud and public order offences are up from the previous year. In
comparison, latest figures from police recorded crime shows no overall change
from the previous year, with 3.7 million offences recorded in the year ending March
2014. Whilst Left Realists argue that crime statistics are an accurate indicator of the
state of crime in society, the disparities between the sources of crime statistics
suggest that crime statistics provide an inaccurate measurement of crime in the UK.
Marxists believe that crime statistics are flawed and manipulated by the government
in an attempt to deceive the public. Research calculated by Her Majesty s
Inspectorate of Constabulary supports this view as it revealed that more than
800,000 offences are left off the official crime figure in England and Wales each
year. It is clear that

The Kite Runner Analysis
The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini features a few archetypes within it. Hassan is
the scapegoat and an innocent youth. He is naive and pure but at the same time he
is brave and protective of his friend Amir. Hassan trusts Amir completely and loves
him very much. Hassan s character in this novel is vital to the plot and to the
character development of the main character, Amir. Hassan s innocence makes his
rape important in making Amir realize the value of friendship. Hassan did not say
anything to Amir after Amir accused him of theft. Hassan quietly tolerated
everything and did not let any differences come in between his friendship with
Amir. Amir, at first, didn t think much of his connection with Hassan but as time
went on, Amir discovered the true meaning of friendship. Assef represents the
villain in The Kite Runner. He is much more than just a menacing bully. Assef is
the psychological force that Amir needed to overcome. Assef bullied Amir and
Hassan a lot when they were kids. Amir was scared of Assef and wouldn t dare
speak against him, but Hassan was willing to fight to save Amir if he was in
trouble. Amir didn t fight against Assef when he was raping Hassan. He carried
that guilt and regret with him his entire life. He finally stood up to Assef in Kabul
and after running away from there with Sohrab, I m sure that Amir felt some sense
of achievement and payback. Despite being badly beat by Assef, Amir probably felt
as if he had faced his fear. Something he should ve
Human Skull Essay
From Pompeian mosaic and Pre Columbian sculptures or reliefs, human skull
carried a symbolical meaning of death and was a source of its philosophical
contemplation and comprehension. Within long European tradition of Vanitas in
art, it served as a reminder of impermanence of life. Combined with luxurious items
and flowers, skull reiterated the inevitable transience of existence in Flemish still
lifes, reversed sides of portrait panels and ornate mirrors. It appeared in decorations
of kings tombs and church altars. Also, it was a warning symbol. Images of skull
would send the threatening messages message via Jolly Roger or criminals tattoos.

A Little Scared Are We Bella
Ugh, there s nothing to do! Zoe said to her two best friends, Violet and Bella. It
was a friday, they all had nothing to do so they were lounging around Bellas room.
Violet quickly jumped up and had a scaring look in her eye I HAVE AN IDEA! she
yelled suddenly making Zoe and bella jump. Oh no.. Bella mumbled under her
breath. Violet glared at her and said,
Halloween is tomorrow right? Why don t we celebrate that by going to that
abandoned asylum downtown!
No way! Bella said back.
Thats not a bad idea, it s not like anythings gonna happen, we are just celebrating

around the room where she saw a window.
See I told you, I will go see if the window will open Zoe took a few steps then...
SLAM. The door slammed closed leaving Zoe alone in the white empty room. She

door. But just as the window did, it started to melt to and disappear, along with the
yells and screams of the other two girls trying to get it open. She screamed. But it
was then when she noticed the eyes that stared at her all around the room. She
slowly turned around with a horrific look on her face. As she turned all around the
room there were dolls. The creepiest dolls you could ever imagine, they were

Essay On Game Theory
Game Theory was devised in the 1950 s and slowly grew into the field of biology
and today it is even used in computers and is one of the most important tool in
every field. Game Theory is a psychological theory which usually applies to social
conditions, which affect the behavioral and decision making of an individual. This
theory is vast and deals with how a group reacts and interact. This theory is used in
mostly all major fields such as business, biology, science, logic, computer etc.
A number of laws and theories are used to support the game theory such as zero sum
games where one individual gains exactly equal gains exactly equal net losses of
other individuals. Probability is one of the major theory which heavily supports the

They can study their strategies and decisions they make to buy and sell products ,
how they engage during transactions and what outcomes that result in the end.
Game theory has three main branches: The mechanism design theory, the general
equilibrium theory and the decision theory.
The Mechanism design theory gives analysts flexibility, as it lowers the restrictions
on variables. This theory shows the consequences of different regulations and
guidelines and how groups of people can take advantages when using certain strategy
in different situations. We can look at the examples on auctions where sellers can
identify the risks and avoid them completely.
The General equilibrium theory lays down general guidelines to set up rules and
restrictions looking at the behavior of people. It is broadly used in economics such
as in making tax policies, voting, which intensives to apply and to interpret stock
exchanges.
The Decision theory is a game generally used for a single person. It brings the
possible outcomes of the choices of a person where high risks equals maximum
profits and low risk equals low profits. Probability and bayer laws are generally used
for the decision
Database Protection System For The Security Of The...
Abstract:
In the last 5 years the usage of internet has increased vastly. Internet attacks has been
increasing. As attacks are increasing there is no security for the network related data
bases. We need urgently a database protection system against the attacks in order keep
the data securely.
This paper reviews about the SQL attacks, database protection system which is used
between the database and web application. There are different protective measures for
the different users to provide effective security of the database.
Introduction:
Since the rapid increase of use of Internet, computer network technology has rapid
growth. Now a day s internet is used in almost every fields like governments, business
and health care and schools etc. made the rapid development of the computer network
technology.
Networks play key role in these computer era. It brings convenience, along with it
also brings the malicious attackers. Network attackers are targeting the network
database, to get the secured data. The most common attack are SQL attacks. SQL
statements are the tools of SQL attacks.
SQL Attacks:
The Principles of SQL attacks:
The most common attacks on the web are SQL attacks. SQL means Structured
Query Language. SQL is used by the relational databases to perform the database
operations. Generally web servers use databases to store the information. Every site
on the web mostly uses the databases. SQL is also one type of programming

Written in third person limited omniscient, and filtered predominantly through
Catherine. The unknown narrator slips effortlessly into free indirect disclosure,
which adopts the tone and inflection of an individual characters voice. This technique
allows the narrator to intrude into the narrative to offer advice, or to foreshadow the
characters. However, the narrator frequently breaks from convention and addresses
the reader directly.
Setting and imagery, is important in the novel, the word Abbey , represents
connotations of the gothic itself, which conjures up expectations of horror, and
danger, and visions of the uncanny.
Characterisation, through dialogue and free indirect disclosure allows readers to

The word choice is rich, and the narrative construction subtle, compassionate, and
credible, making the phrasing natural, realistic, and easily understood through tone
and dialogue. My dear Eleanor, cried Catherine, suppressing her feelings as well as
she could, do not be so distressed.
How Did Asoka Respond To The Mauryan Empire Dbq
A great leader can turn anything from rust to gold with just the touch of his hands.
Asoka was an enlightened ruler and not a ruthless conqueror, because of the
positive changes he made upon the Mauryan Empire s society and his economical
and political uplifts towards Kalinga. Asoka established many positive, beneficial
changes to the Mauryan Empire after his conquest. The map of Asoka s Empire
shows that many people died from being killed in the war, starvation, and disease
spreading (Document A). But because of his conquest, Asoka added a large piece of
land to the Mauryan Empire, right above the Godavari River. This benefitted the
Mauryan Empire because they had more resources to occupy. The excerpts from the

Romila Thapar states that AsokaЕ› conquest of Kalinga was important because it
gave the Mauryan Empire income and strategy ( Document B). The people of
Kalinga could now have higher percentages of living and of supporting their
families. This diminished the death rate of the empire as well. The reason being
that Asoka brought a political uplight to the Mauryan Empire, and made it more
uniform was due to his unique mind set. The historian, Michael woods quotes that
Asoka s mind was a political order...[that] had never been been conceived of before
in world history (Document C). Although a nay sayer would defend that he
resolved all of his problems with violence, his broad and strong words were the
ones that were very convincing. Another reason why Asoka s conquering benefitted
the Mauryan Empire because because of his dedication towards businesses.
Jawaharlal Nehru, the late indian prime minister states that Asoka devoted himself
to... public works [and] labored hard at public business. (Document F) The people
that worked in the public works had a broader chance of getting more work done as

Analysis Of Coronation Of The Virgin By Gengtile Da
Fabriano
Once gracing the lavish floor of Getty Center, the Coronation of the Virgin which was
painted by the extraordinary Italian artist Gentile da Fabriano in 1420, attracted many
attentions by its sacredness, powerfulness and magic of the Christ. At 36 в…ќ inches
and 25 Вј inches size tempera, Christ gently places the ornate gold grown upon
Virgin Marys slightly bowed head by the watching of angels from either side as she
becomes the Queen of Heaven. Since the first century, Christianity has played an
important role in Western Art, which has inspired numerous artists in making their
masterpieces. However, artists must follow the religious rules to build up the imagery
of the Christ, and educate audience about the religious. Coronation of the Virgin by
Fabriano is a perfect presentation of that.
Gorgeously. Striking. Grace. The golden painting is taking up by the two most iconic
symbols of Christianity: Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary. Christ gently placing a
golden grown on the inclined head of the Virgin Mary, who is sitting on the right
side of Jesus; her hands crossed over her chest symbolist of humble, reverent and
loyalty. This position was purposely set by Fabriano. In Christianity art, position is
significant in dividing between good manners and malefactors. For instance, in The
Last Judgment by Giotto di Bondone in 1305, heaven was placed on right of Christ,
and hell was on the left. This ideology was clearly stated in the bible ...before him

Dicken Case Study
Dicken s wants to grow his business and build a larger customer base. He has
thought about several different options. His first option builds retention in his 14
15 year old customer base by developing a targeted program. Developing a new
program is a great idea. This is because at this age kids are involved in other
activities making them less focused on competitive soccer. Dickens should design a
program that does not involve competition and is purely recreational. The program
should meet once a week in order to have an easy and stress free commitment. The
program should focus on fun scrimmages and teach the fundamentals of teamwork
and communication, with less focus on tactile skills such as ball work. While form is

He may not want to address all of them at the same time though. This way he can
focus on getting each one right and so he won t overload himself with clients he

because they are the simplest, and have great potential to bring in more customers.
It will add quality to his product. Adding a recreational teens program, an after
school program, and a birthday party program addresses a wide variety of soccer
playing customer segments (the competitive, the recreational, the exercise
segment). Once he has this finalized, he should begin merchandising. It might only
be worth merchandising if Dicken s can bring in more customers. This is why he
should begin with option one and three. Finally option four should be done last
because if he figures out new ways to capture customers in his own town, he may
not need to take on new markets. Also he should test his new programs out on his
loyal and already informed market first. This way if the program goes bad, there
will be less damage done and it will be easier to win over these customers versus the
ones that don t know Dickens and his company. With these newly added programs
Dickens should ensure is team is well trained and encouraged to ensure standard in
his company. Most importantly, Dicken s should do market research before

The Russian Revolutions of 1917 There were two revolutions that occurred in Russia
in 1917. The first one, in February, overthrew the Russian monarchy. The second one,
in October, created the world s first Communist state.
The Russian revolutions of 1917 involved a series of uprisings by workers and
peasants throughout the country and by soldiers, who were predominantly of
peasant origin, in the Russian army. Many of the uprisings were organized and led
by democratically elected councils called soviets. The soviets originated as strike
committees and were basically a form of local self government.
The second revolution led to the rise of the modern Communist movement and to the

Known as the October Revolution or the Bolshevik Revolution, it was led by a group
of revolutionary socialists called Bolsheviks. It brushed aside the Provisional
Government. The Bolsheviks hoped that their revolution would result in more
fundamental changes to carry out socialist revolutions.
The Provisional Government was made up of liberal leaders, and as well as some
moderate socialists. The Prime minister, Lvov, was a wealthy landowner, who
favored an immediate constitutional monarchy and ultimately a republic. Lvov was
the outstanding personality in the Provisional Government. The most famous of the
moderate socialists was Aleksndr Kerensky, the minister of justice. The collapse of
the tsarist regime thus left in its wake two centers of political authority: (1) the
traditional politicians of the Provisional Government, who had little control over
the people, and (2) the democratically elected soviets, which exercised more
political power owing to support from the great majority of workers and soldiers.
This system of dual power proved to be unstable. The instability grew as the
moderate politicians proved increasingly unable to meet the rising expectations of the
laboring masses. The Provisional Government declared an end to tsarist repression
and established full civil liberties. It also promised early democratic elections, which

also good for advertising products. There were quite a few stores in the mall that
were handing samples to try their product. The point of sale assessment depends
on the consumer s perceived shopping motives. Shopping motivation represents a

most consumers buy for personal or family use. Most people shop in groups with
their families and friends since everyone is home for the holidays. The more people

Deferred Maintenance Is Defined By Kaiser ( 2009 )
The topic of this paper is the use of public private partnerships to address deferred
maintenance needs on campus. Deferred maintenance is defined by Kaiser (2009)
as maintenance work that has been deferred on a planned or unplanned basis to a
future budget cycle or postponed until funds are available. This backlog of
maintenance to physical plant is an issue for nearly all public higher education
institutions. Kaiser (1996) contends that deferred maintenance constitutes a genuine
threat to higher education institutions and their ability to accomplish their mission.
The deteriorating conditions of facilities can put universities at a disadvantage vis Г

Several years of delays in repairs has led to deterioration in some campus buildings
that has caused permanent damage. In assessing the best way to address the issues
with maintenance, it has been determined that the most cost effective and efficient
way to proceed is through reconstruction since the cost of repairs will add up to be
about equivalent to the cost to rebuild some structures. Considering that the institution
has suffered financial losses over the years in other areas due to deferred
maintenance, this change is relevant because it has the ability to save the university
money over a long period of time. In addition, it puts the institution in a position
where it can be aesthetically and operationally competitive with its opposition.
As a means to make a incremental changes, while also being intentional about the
campus scheduled maintenance plan, it has been decided that ten buildings will be
contracted out to a building maintenance company every five years. The objective of
this plan is to relieve the institution of the financial responsibilities of small and large
building maintenance projects and avoid the liabilities associated with maintenance
of campus buildings temporarily. This allows the institution to fully focus efforts on
developing curriculum and contributing the students experience in other ways.
After a period of twenty years in which the buildings are managed by the contracted
maintenance company, the institution will resume

Essay on The Invention of the Telegraph and Morse Code
The telegraph was the first major advancement in communication technology. In
1838, Samuel Morse perfected and demonstrated the first telegraph machine. His
machine used Morse code to send electronic currents along a wire, allowing the first
high speed long distance communications. By the 1850s, the telegraph was
widespread. In 1861, Western Union installed the first trans continental line and by
1866, the first trans Atlantic line was completed. At this time, telegraphs were all
keyed by hand and transcribed from Morse code to English by ear. Fredrick Creed
invented a way to convert Morse code into text in what became known as the Creed
Telegraph System. That was in 1900, and by 1914, these automatic transmissions
handled twice what a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Phones continued to develop clearer signals and longer ranges. The first cell
phone, produced in 1947, was the car phone. However, it only worked when
driving on the highway between Boston and New York. In 1973, the first portable
phone call was placed, and by 1991 mobile phones were available to the public. By
2001, these newly developed cell phones overshadowed payphones and were an
integral part of American daily life.
Similar to the telegraph, the invention of the telephone made instant communication a
possibility. Far more effective than the telegraph, the phone allowed for the spread of
more information over a shorter period. Writing was no longer the only form of long
distance communication. Telephones encouraged the progress of city centers and
office buildings. The importance of messengers and telegraphs dwindled as the
telephone industry expanded. By the early 21st century, constant connection to the
entire planet through cell phones was an American standard.
Another technological innovation was the development of electronic mail, or email.
Technically speaking, the telegraph was the first electronic mail. The next
advancement of the electronic mail industry was the telex network, an advanced form
of the telegraph that is still used today. From the 1940s to the 1980s, businesses
widely utilized the telex network. In the 1960s and 1970s, many companies used

Individuality In The Virgin Suicides And Lolita
The hyperbolic lack of individuality in The Virgin Suicides changes both the image
of the boys and the girls. The narration is through the perspective of the boys as one
entity, an indistinguishable chorus, rather than from separable perspectives. The
chorus of boys views the girls as one entity separating but ultimately coming back
together (130). They can only see the similarity of the girls: their similar hair, morals,
upbringing, clothes, disposition, stature, age. This exemplifies that the girls
themselves did not draw the boys in, but only the beauty of their sadness and the
grandeur of their mass suicide. The girls had an inclination to maintain family
togetherness and saw themselves as a both a human pact and each other s greatest
confidants (216). The girls need to be close to one another foreshadowed the night of
the four murders, when neither sister would leave without any other given sister.
Closeness overpowers the predisposition to protect loved ones. Obsession is also
present in the repetition of hypotheticals regarding what could have been between the
boys and the Lisbon sisters. They frequently watch the Lisbon home just wondering...

On one side, the Lisbon sisters lose their grip on what innocence truly means,
allowing themselves to get caught in the fast moving pace of their youth. Without
any outlet for their self expression, they take their own lives out of pain and grief.
The religious references and lively imagery paradoxically describe the lack of
morality and the ultimate loss of life. Lo is no longer Dolores on the dotted line, but
Lolita through and through (11). Humbert ripped her childlike innocence from her
delicate fingertips, creating a wandering soul without roots. Her nymphet exterior
fades, along with her virtue. The sexual symbolism and moral questions transform Lo

Roger Ebert On Groundhog Day
The poetry of Rumi and the review of Chicago Sun Times writer Roger Ebert on
Groundhog Day both agree the view of human growth is determined by the heart
and not the body. Rumi believes that a person has to go through two worlds
(heaven and hell) to give up their life and become a better person. According to
page 30, lines 1 4, Rumi says, To dance is not to jump to your feet and rise
painlessly in the air like dust. To rise above both worlds is to dance in the blood of
your pain and give up your life. Rumi believes that victory is not only
accomplished when the path taken to solve a situation is the facilitated one. But,
that victory should be achieved when a person is able to get back on their feet and
improve themselves. Rumi establishes pathos when he uses words such as pain ,
blood , and life which evoke strong... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To use such words, Rumi expresses the different point of views on life. He intends
to make the reader realize that sacrifice is worth the pain and blood, because at the
end you would be dancing of joy in the blood in which you fought and succeeded.
This is shown in the review of Chicago Sun Times writer Roger Ebert on
Groundhog Day. Ebert believes that a person needs to go through something
devastatingly drastic to actually learn from the experience. According to the third
paragraph, Roger Ebert says, The movie, as everyone knows, is about a man who
finds himself living the same day over and over and over again. He is the only
person in his world who knows this is happening, and after going through periods of
dismay and bitterness, revolt and despair, suicidal self destruction and cynical
recklessness, he begins to do something that is alien to his nature. He begins to learn.
Ebert establishes pathos by including words such as suicidal self destruction, cynical
recklessness to show how people need to go through certain experiences to actually
learn, agreeing
The Nuclear Arms Race
The nuclear arms race involving both the Unites States of America and the Soviet
Union will forever be part of the foundation of what we know emergency

only for nuclear war, but also the fallout. In order to properly prepare for and react
to a potential nuclear attack, almost every level of State and Local Government had
a designee responsible for Civil Defense. Eventually, this led to the creation of
different government entities such as; The Federal Civil Defense Administration
[FCDA] and the Office of Defense Mobilization which was a Department of Defense
[DOD] function. The FCDA, although a federal entity was not properly financed or

Penny-Personal Narrative
It all started on the morning of July 26, when I told my dear daughter Penny
Woods to go out and buy the groceries for dinner. She had been so excited to drive
by herself since she had just received her driver s licence. It was hard for me to let
her go to the store without me, but I knew I had to. The weather was nice, it was
sunny and the clouds dotted the sky. It made me feel better letting Penny go off all
alone. I wish I had known that it was the last goodbye I would ever say to her. After
Penny left I did my daily activities, but time had slipped by me. When the clock
struck twelve I thought it was a mistake, since Penny was not home yet. She had left

Injutice Injustice
The fact that crimes, drugs, and criminals have increased in America, is part of the
reason why I am afraid to live in Sacramento. It is really hard to trust anyone or
depend on the criminal justice system. There are even bad cops in America who
have not been convicted for their wrongdoings. Many individuals get away with
their actions because either are financially privileged, or have plenty of connections
in the law enforcement. Those who are defined as middle class or poor do not have
the ability to bribe others to receive what they want, or have the power to relinquish
themselves out of trouble. Injustice is something that has always been relevant; a
problem in American history and a problem today. In the textbook, Give me Liberty
by Eric Foner, he uncovers the story on the trial of Anne Hutchinson. This trial was
brought to my attention because what had happened to her was unethical. Hutchinson
was charged with sedition which is the action by encouraging others to rebel against
the authority. She also held meetings after church to talk about the bible. Anne
Hutchinson announces her own point of views that are above the human law and
church teachings. For example, Her meetings, said Governor Winthrop, were neither
comely in the sight of God, nor fitting to your sex (Foner 74). We were all born with
the ability to speak upon our own judgments and because she was educated and had
her own logical opinions that other women did not have, she was on trial for that.
Essay on Global Warming and Greenhouse Gases
Global Warming and Greenhouse Gases
The concentration of the atmosphere s main greenhouse gases specifically, carbon
dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and water vapor, have increased significantly during
the industrial age. These high concentrations are predicted to continue in the
atmosphere for thousands of years to come. This increase in specially carbon dioxide,
increases the infrared energy taken in by the atmosphere, and warming the earth s
surface. The Global mean temperature over the past 150 years has risen between 0.3
degrees C and 0.6 degrees C. Climate changes that have been predicted are based on
the continual rise in
Green House Gases. These changes include changes in: increase in mean surface air
temperature, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This extra energy absorbed although thought to only warm the earth also has a
cooling tendency on the stratosphere (Peixoto and Oort). The affect the radiation has
by this increase of Green House Gases concentration is also known as Infrared Flux
at the tropopause (Wang). The models used to predict this information can also
closely mimic the other layers of the atmosphere as well as the surface. Worldwide
temperature measurements are carefully taken with many variables in mind. Such
variables would be urbanization of a region, aerosols, precipitation, and changes in
temperature and clouds (Hansen). Usually the temperature is the first variable that is
considered when assessments of the world climate change are taken, it is also very
important to consider other data that is part of the climate system along the line of
time and space. Some other sources of information are: tree rings, bore hole
temperature measurements in the soil, permafrost, and ice sheets, and measurements
of the mass of valley glaciers and ice caps. By looking at this material for the past
600 years it has been determined that the warming in the twentieth century is greater
over this time period (Briffa).
From paleoclimate studies it has been concluded that the Earth s climate has been
altered by more than just Green House Gases, but Inorder to find the effects of the

Analysis Of The Film Hercules By Brett Ratner
The film Hercules (2014), directed by Brett Ratner, has a unique aspect like no other
Hercules film created. This film is heavily influenced by both Greek and Roman
mythology but also takes into consideration a Euhemerism approach by portraying
Hercules as a human. This interpretation takes an orphan that has extraordinary
strength that became a mercenary and builds himself into a myth with which he uses
to instill fear into his enemies. This film provides an example of the evolution of a
myth and how political corruption can be a driving force in the creation.
Similar in both Greek and Roman myth, Hercules performs twelve labors due to
Hera driving him mad and causing him to kill his family (later to be discovered not
true in the film). Hercules ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This alludes to Euhemerism due to power influencing the creation of myths to
maintain power like the Romans. The first time film watchers encounter corruption is
when Lord Cotys hired Hercules to help fight the warlord Rhesus. The film later
reveals that Cotys is the tyrant and manipulated Hercules by using his daughter s
influence on the hero. This blinded Hercules from the truth that Cotys was the
oppressor and Rhesus was trying to secure the throne for the true king. In the
second use of political corruption Hercules was in Athens where he helped protect
the citizens. He had become so loved that King Eurystheus was worried the citizens
would begin to view Hercules as a god and no longer respect Eurystheus as a king.
So one night, Eurystheus poisoned Hercules and sent three wolves to kill Hercules
family thus the creation of Hera driving Hercules insane was constructed. After this,
Hercules was banished from the city and Eurystheus was uncontested and a hero to
the people. This idea of political corruption still persists in our society today. This
interpretation, continues the idea that those in power will use and abuse the innocent
to secure more power. Both Cotys and Eurystheus used Hercules until he became a
threat and then disposed of him. Our political elections can be seen similarly,
politicians need the 99% in order to be elected, but once they are elected, they can go
against their promises since

Molly, Susan, and Beth greeted the fearless foursome at the front door. Reunited as a

The Us Strategy For Winning The Global War On Terrorism
In light of this, it should be mentioned that the US strategy for winning the Global
War on Terrorism is predicated on creating an international environment inhospitable
to terrorists and all those who support them (Fogarty 2001). Meaning, that the fight
against terrorism heavily relies on international cooperation. In order to achieve such
a feat, nevertheless, America must be amiable by fellow governments and their
citizens. Unfortunately, the reports and findings on GTMO makes it increasingly
difficult for the American administration to do so, for the inhumane treatment makes
citizens of other countries upset. Quoting General Colin Powell, people from other
nation states are beginning to doubt the moral basis of our fight against terrorism
(Duberstein as cited in Washington Monthly 2008). This proves to be an immense
hindrance to the war, as America cannot hope to face all of the world s terrorists
alone. To put this in perspective, one can take a look at the situation with Turkey
and Russia. Earlier this year, a Russian jet was shot down by Turkey, having flown
into the latter s airspace without permission (BBC 2015). Granted, there lies in
factors such as the decades long animosity between the two countries. Albeit, who s
to say that America s relations with countries will never reach such lows? Rather,
previous Secretary of Defence Chuck Hagel says that one of the greatest long term
dangers America faces is that we are now mistrusted by many nations, even our

The relationship between Richard II and The Myrroure for Magistrates is considered

the texts. Finally, consideration is given to the different way in which the Myrroure

His message can be contradictory, for he does see his murder as causeles (l. 116)

Shakespeare s Richard is a more complex, contradictory character, reflecting the
theatrical purpose of the play. Richard is shown as well as told which, particularly
during the first two Acts, results in conflicting impressions of him. In Act 1 Scene 1,

story takes place during the depression also and the people in the story are very poor.

In both stories the narrator is a young child. In the story A Christmas Memory when
Buddy and his cousin drink the leftover whiskey the other relatives yell at them
because buddy is just a little kid. In the book To Kill a Mockingbird, in the beginning
of the story Scout is in first grade. Another similarity between the two is that they
both have an elderly figure that they look up to. In A Christmas Memory Buddy
has his elderly cousin, they are good friends and buddy trusts and respects her. In
To Kill a Mockingbird scout has her father Atticus. He is a highly respected man
who loves scout and tries to help the better cause. Later in the story we see this trait
in Scout. This shows that in both stories there is a young child with a close person
to them who they look up to. They also have some differences. One of the biggest
differences is their gender. In To Kill a Mockingbird scout is a girl and in A
Christmas Memory Buddy is a boy. Another difference between these stories is who
they grew up with. Scout grew up with her siblings and also her father. In A
Christmas Memory Buddy grew up with his aunt and other relatives but not his
parents. This shows that they have different genders and also that they have different

William Wallace Analysis
William Wallace is a cold blooded killer and should be sentenced to death by law.
To have the nerve to kill a innocent old man while he was asleep in the middle of
the night. He new what he was doing because he tells us he was planning it for a
long time. William wallace is sane do to his actions that has led to where we are
today. Whenever it fell upon me, my blood ran cold and so by degrees, very
gradually, I made up my mind to take the old man s life. This shows that he fills
evil doing this and knows it s wrong. Doing this makes him fill evil and turns his
blood cold. Because Death, in approaching him had stalked with his black shadow
before him, and enveloped the victim. When he talks about death approaching him,
he is talking about himself being death and how he is slowly moving in to claim his
victim. Again, he talks about this like he wants to do it. Wallace knows he is guilty.

I resolved to open a little, a very very little crevice in the lantern. When he woke up,
he waited patiently for an hour This shows that he has the patience to wait it out.
Only someone decaded to killing this innocent man would wait it out. After the
killing, Mr. Wallace had the nerve and I quote The night waned , and I worked
hastily, but in silence. First of all, I dismembered the corpse. I cut off the head and
the legs and arms. This shows complete sanity and only a madman is capable of this
action. This man needs to be put down and be punished in the same way he acted on

Landmine Research Paper
Landmines If one is fortunate enough to be an United States citizen, the notion of
landmines in combat may seem like primitive warfare technology. But, for the
people in war torn Africa, one mistep has become a death sentence. Suprisingly, the
United Nations estimates that 2 to 5 million new landmines are put into the ground
each year. This statistic shows that landmines are the exact oppostite of primitive
technology. On top of all that, as if the traditional variation was not enoough, they
now manufacture plastic landmines. Which, of course, are even more difficult to
detect. There are many barriers that prevent the clearing of landmines around the
world, specifically, Africa. One of these barriers is the fact that landmines are so
efficient. If they weren t so effective of as a weapon of murder, millions would not
be buried into the ground today. Another major barrier is the fact that removal of
landmines is labor entensive, as well as, inefficiant. In fact, it takes more than a day
to clear over 50 kilometers of land. At that rate, it is estimated it will take over one
thousand years to clear the rest of the mines left in the world. Also, landmines are
now made out of plastic, therefore invisible to metal detectors which makes removal
that much more difficult. Another... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In southern Africa specifically, innocent civilians have been murdered and maimed
over the last thirty years. It is estimated that 20,000 victims are either severly injured
or killed by landmines every single year. Of those victims, a vast majority are
innocent children. The mere threat of landmines prevents civilians from plowing
their fields or even roaming around their own land. It also prevents the sale of land
and homes which further cripples a country s economy. The people who live in these
landmine infested areas, truly live knowing that any moment, their next step could be

Why The Battle Of The Bulge
The Battle of the Bulge, or Ardennen Offensive was a major German offensive. On
December 16, 1944 towards the end of World War II the battle was the only major
German offensive of the war, launched by Adolf Hitler in order to attempt to reverse
the decrease in his fortunes that had started on D ay. He intended to accomplish this
by trying to split Allied troops through an assault located within the Ardennes Forest
of Belgium, destroying enemy troops located here. He believed would ensure the
allies to form a peace treaty that would favor the Axis Powers. The attack in the
Ardennes Forest did not result in Hitler s predicted outcome. The Ardennes Forest,
was a dense forest with only a few roads that stretched seventy five miles, these roads
were being help by four inexperienced and tired American divisions. Using them
element of surprise the German troops attacked the forest on December 16, 1944.
The American divisions, desperately sought to stop advancing German troops.
Despite their attempts by the end of the day the German stoops had broken through
the American lines, taking over important intersections and had surrounded the
majority of the infantry division. (Battle of the Buldge December 1944) German
troops pushed forward towards the Meuse River and managed to... Show more content

The additional troops as well as the German shortage on fuel assisted the Allies in
halting the German troops. *Battle of the Buldge) By December 25, 1944, the
advance of the Germans had stopped just short of their destination, the Meuse River.
The Third U.S. Army, under command of LT Gen. George S. Patton had been
providing counterattack against the enemy flank soon after the initiation of the battle.
On December 26, they reached the town of Bastogne, Belgium, which had been under
siege by German troops, and managed to liberate
Jewish People In The 14th Century Essay
As the black death swept across 14th century Europe, Jewish communities were
taken scapegoats, many were accused of poisoning wells and along with the spite of
Christians nobles indebt to the Jews, they were then attacked. During the fall of
1348, rumor spread that these deaths were caused by Jews intending to poison
Christians. A number of jewswere then tortured and inquisited, confessing anything
that the inquisitors suggested. Many Jews blamed others, these blames spreading
from town to town and as a result thousands of Jews, at least 200 towns, were
killed. An example would be Agimet the Jew s case, where he confesses that he had
been sent to purchase silks and other things and was also requested by another Jew,

Money of the Jews was another reason they had been targeted. On St. Valentine s
day, theyburnt about 2000 Jews on a wooden platform in a cemetery. Everything
owed to the Jews was cancelled, all pledges and notes taken for debt were
surrendered. The council then took the cash the Jews possessed and divided it
among the working men proportionately. The money was indeed the thing that
killed the Jews, as if they had been poor and if the feudal lords had not been in debt
to them , they wouldn t have been burnt. These accounts are very credible as the
author Jacob von Königshofen, was an archivist who lived close to these events
which he writes of, but also because he largely incorporates information from his
Strasbourg predecessor, who was probably an eyewitness of these tragedies.
Furthermore, he was a Christian who sympathized for the Jews; it seems his
purpose in writing these accounts was to spread awareness on these tragedies to
those who are educated. We have credence to believe that it was partly due to
blaming the Jews for poisoning wells and springs and the spite of indebt nobles that
the Jewish communities were
The Importance Of Interactivity In Online Learning
Interactivity in our lives is very important especially in the learning process between
learners and instructors and the learning content. Interaction can be used in different
teaching environments like formal and informal education. The learner can interact
with the teacher in order to get some knowledge. (Bernard et al., 2009; Ke, 2013) As
a student, the interaction is really the crucial element for their fundamental knowledge
and emotional development in traditional teaching methods. (Song and McNary
(2011)). Interactivity can be used in both entertainment and education, in particular
online learning. Due to the rapid expansion and progress of Technology and the
Internet, online learning became very popular in higher education. (Ke Kwak, 2013;
Wei Chou, 2014). It can enable learners and instructors to detour the daily or weekly
regular teaching methods and instead get their knowledge online. Online Learning
can also enable learners to get knowledge and skills over a variety of different
learning applications without having limits on time and space. (Allen Seaman, 2013;
Kaymak Horzum , 2013). As a result, interaction is one of the most important factor
for a successful learning experience. (Cho Kim, 2013; Garner Bol, 2011; Kang Im,
2013; Richardson Swan, 2003; Watson, 2013). A sub category of interaction is the
interactive video which is a new technology that integrates the management of
infomation and the desicion making of computers with the addition of
National Council Of The State Board Of Nurses
For the busy manager, there never seems to be enough time in one day to do
everything. You can create To Do lists, plan ahead, abide by a calendar, but in
healthcare, an industry that is constantly changing, new tasks arise in response to
external and internal environmental changes very quickly. In order to adapt to these
changes, a skilled manager must know how to delegate. Merriam Webster defines
delegation as the act of giving control, authority, a job, duty, etc. to another person .
The National Council of the State Board of Nurses defines delegation as the transfer
of authority to perform a nursing task from one person to another, while retaining
accountability for the outcome. Definitions may vary, but the significance of strategic
delegation within an organization is tantamount to the very people who work within
it. Delegation is a layered process that has implications for employees, managers, and
the greater organization. Empowering staff through delegation is a such a challenge,
that a leader with effective delegation skills is essential to the success of any
organization. Effective delegation has the potential to boost staff morale, develop
more competent employees, and gives managers time to address managementlevel
duties. In this paper we will discuss the basic, and most important elements of
delegation and the impact it has in the workplace.
Empowering staff through delegation is a such a challenge, that a leader with

The Evolution of the Meaning of Life
The complex idea of the meaning of life came to be first through the Hindu
teachings. The four main purposes of life are Dharma meaning to act virtuously and
righteously. Artha means the prosperity and successfulness in one s life. Kama
being the concept of whatever action a person makes, they will receive the same
back. Moksha is the proceeding of a spirit into another being according to their past
life.
Following the Hindus, then came the Dao teachings of life, using the five
elements earth, wind, fire, water, and air for fulfilling one s personal goal in
accomplishing a successful life. Through the use of the elements, Daoists have
found certain rules of nature that are shown in our human existence. Because of
the elements, our lives are constantly affected by outside forces and by nature
itself. Therefore knowledge of the principles of nature will help a person move
from being troubled by outside forces to being led by the natural inside forces that
are centered in peace beyond outside forces. By following Tao, or the way, one must
mentally teach oneself the capabilities of being successful in life on Earth. Tao is
not a god but more of a way or self encouragement type of movement.
The meaning of life in Confucianism is to follow the ways of Confucius to achieve
your personal goal. Confucius believed that Tien Ming was that all living things are
under the ultimate control
Observation Of CM Allen s Afterschool
My group had to opportunity to observe CM Allen s afterschool program first and
meet the kids residing in the neighborhood. Upon arriving, I noticed the little
playground right across the street from the KAD Korner Store and it wasn t very big
and took up most space in the area so there wasn t a lot of open space for the kids to
run around and playdifferent, structured games like the ones we had planned. I didn t
like that the playgroundwas across the street because the kids would run back and
forth between them and they wouldn t look both ways before crossing, unless you
reminded them constantly. However, the playground did have a skateboard area,
basketball court and a table with a roof on it for them to rest and get some shade.
The kids at CM Allen, were mostly Hispanic and around different ages, mostly older
that the other kids from Allen Woods. When we first asked them to gather to play a
game, they all refused and just kept playing on their own. It took a while for them ...

play with. The kids here were all excited to play the games we had planned and
were more enthusiastic about them. All the kids played the dice soccer game with
us and were all involved in the game. It took a couple of tries before they got the
hang of the game, but once they did it was nothing but fun. We helped the kids with
their homework and stayed with them as the ate lunch, after some of us played board
games with them, played toys with them, and tossed balls outside. Towards the end,
the remaining kids were all outside dancing to music as they older kids practiced
their karate lessons
Heart Rate And Its Effect On The Human Body
Heart Rate as it Relates to Age and Sex
Problem:
The heart is the most important muscle in the human body. It is located in the
circulatory system and it pumps blood along with other nutrients all through the
body, which in turn keeps us alive. But, what is actually happening when it beats?
Simultaneously, the heart is receiving deoxygenated blood and returning oxygenated
blood to the body. It is made up of four chambers called the left and right atria,
located on top, and the left and right ventricles, located on the bottom. The right
atrium fills with blood from the veins and then contracts to send the blood to the
right ventricle, which then sends oxygen rich blood to the lungs through arteries. At
the same time, the left atrium fills with blood from the veins and then contracts
sending blood to the left ventricle, which then sends blood to the rest of the body
through arteries (Silverthorn). A pulse happens every time the heart contracts.
Pulse in counted by the number of times an artery expands and contracts as a result
of the heart beating. It is measured in number of beats per minute and is commonly
written as bpm. There are seven arteries in the body used to measure pulse, here are
a few: the radial artery, located on the thumb side of the wrist; the brachial artery,
located on the inside of the arm at the elbow; and the carotid artery, located on the
side of the neck (Silverthorn). The purpose of this experiment is to determine
whether age and/or gender have any

The Past, Present, and Future of Traditional Chinese Medicine Treating Dysmenorrhea
Introduction to Traditional Chinese Medicine
Acupuncture, moxibustion, cupping, theory, diagnostics
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a collection of theories and practices that
work together to restore harmony to the body. The two main ideas are a holistic view
and treatment based on a differential diagnosis. To utilise those principles there are a
number of theories to understand how the body functions so we can understand its
pathology. Theories such as yin yang theory, five element theory, vital substance
theory, and basic knowledge of qi are the basis for the treatments in TCM. Treatments

Acupuncture is the practice of puncturing the dermis of the skin at a specific place,
called an acupuncture point, to change the way the bodies qi is flowing. Needles can
be used to reduce, renforce, or apply even stimulation depending on the symptoms
that a person shows. Another method applying renforcing, reducing, or even stimulus
is cupping.
Cupping is where a cup with a low pressure inside is placed on a person s skin.
There are three types of cupping, fire cupping, dry cupping, and wet cupping. In
fire cupping, a glass cup that has had a cotton ball burned inside is used. The cup
can be left in one place or it can be moved along the body. Moving it across the
body can create the sensation of being massaged while leaving long red marks
because the low pressure in the cup causes the capillaries in the skin to burst.
When the cup is left in one place it can lead to a round mark. Another style of
cupping that leaves a mark is wet cupping. Wet cupping where an incision is made
then a cup is placed over the incision. The cup places over top can be applied either
by fire cupping or dry cupping. Both required special training to perform unlike dry
cupping which does not require any special training. Dry cupping is where plastic
cups are placed on the body. The low pressure can be created with a small hand
pump. Dry cupping with give the same type of bruise as fire cupping and has the
same benefit.
Emily Dickinson
The Poet Who Watched the World Through Her Window

Emily Dickinson was born on December 10, 1830, in Amherst, Massachusetts. She
was the oldest daughter of Edward Dickinson, a successful lawyer, member of
Congress, and for many years treasurer of Amherst College, and of Emily Norcross
Dickinson, a timid woman. Lavinia, Dickinson s sister, described Emily as perfectly
well amp; contented She is a very good child amp; but little trouble. (Sewall 324)

This period is known as her most prolific period of writing. She also underwent
treatments for a painful eye condition, now thought to be iritis, with Boston
ophthalmologist Henry W. Williams. While under the doctor s care (eight months
in 1864, six months in 1865), she boarded with her cousins, Frances and Louisa
Norcross. Those trips were to be her last out of Amherst; after her return in 1865,
she rarely ventured beyond the grounds of the Homestead. In 1865, the Civil War
ended, but Emily Dickinson never wrote specifically and realistically about the
Civil War. She did however; write to Colonel Thomas Wentworth Higginson in
February 1963 describing the war as an oblique place . The years of the Civil War
corresponded to Dickinson s most intense period of productivity as a poet, during
which she is thought to have written roughly half of her total number of poems,
and yet her precise relation to the war remains something of a puzzle. Because
Dickinson is known to have a range of possible references when writing, it is
difficult to say whether a particular poem was inspired by the war. Her poem It
feels a shame to be Alive could be about the war, but it could be a reference to one
of the first letters she wrote to Thomas Higginson asking if her verse was alive. In
another letter to Higginson from the winter of 1863, Dickinson included the lines

Lucy
The discovery of Lucy is our oldest and most complete human ancestor. She is less
than 3.8 million years old hominid of Australopithecus afarensis, which was
discovered in November 24, 1974 by Donald C. Johanson and Tom Gray in the Hadar
region of Ethiopia.
They named her Lucy in reference to the well known Beatles song Lucy in the Sky
with Diamonds , which played over and over as they celebrated their findings.
This uncovering of Lucy was very fascinating and answered many questions to our
human evolution. The search for human ancestry has been ongoing for the past
century since the publication of Charles Darwin s Origins of the Species . As more

The joint could lock , suggesting the animal could walk upright. This was an
important discovery showing an ancient bipedal creature. If the bones age was
consistent with Johanson s hypothesized missing link , it would serve as supporting
evidence to Johanson s theory.
Lucy s entire skeleton was found about two and a half kilometers from the site in
which the bipedal knee joint was found. The conclusion that both fossils originate
from the same species is questionable, and might have been influenced by Johanson s
pre existing biases. While only forty percent of the skeleton was found.
The scientist predict that Lucy is at least 20 years old because her wisdom teeth
had fully come in. Her head looked primitive and her brain was not much bigger
than a chimpanzee s. She was an ape with a human looking body but
underdeveloped skull and brain. We obviously still had a long way to come in the
3.18 million years between then and now, but Lucy already showed clear differences
from the normal apes. The shape of her hip bones and her upright posture means that
Lucy is closer to us than the chimpanzee. Knowing that Lucy could walk on two legs
and was about 3 6 tall.
The habitat is predicted a mix of woodland, where they hunt for food on the ground
and in trees, along with more open areas where they would have walked upright.
Evidence from their teeth suggest that this hominine ate soft fruits and leaves but was
also adapted to eat harder, more brittle
The Effects Of Non Pharmacological Interventions On...
Introduction: Non pharmacological interventions have been shown to have an
impact on the quality of life of young adults living at home with neurological
conditions. Randomised controlled trials are used to test interventions
(Greenhalgh 2014), i.e. non pharmacological interventions. According to hospital
episode statistics (Health Social Care Information Centre 2015) 42% of hospital
admissions were due to neurological conditions. Indeed London as a city on its
own, neurological conditions account for 10% of hospital admissions (Strategic
Clinical Networks 2015). With 17% of all hospital admissions in London
(Strategic Clinical Networks 2015) being due to neurological conditions, it is
imperative to explore the impact of non pharmacological interventions on quality
of life. Within research itself (DH 2014, DH 2005, NICE 2014) there is a lack of
standards to measure the quality of life and there is also a lack of evidence of the
impact of non pharmacological interventions on that very quality of life. While
there is a need to explore the impact on quality of life, there is also a need to gain
insight into how the quality of life is both manifested and accounted for.
Randomised controlled trails (RCT), while effective in experiments (Greenhalgh
2014) are useful evidence in this subjective analysis of quality of life. According to
the National Service Framework (NSF) for Older People (DH 2004) any person
below the age of 65 is considered a young adult. Similarly the National

If one does not let go of hatred, then it will cloud one s heart judgement and actions
and for some, the want for vengeance that comes with it may consume one s
morality. With regards to the effects of hatred, the protagonist in Guy de Maupassant
s Old Milon demonstrates the quality of spitefulness with his actions. After the death
of his father and son, Old Milon starts to feel resentment towards the Uhlan soldiers
as a whole, regardless of the individual and expiate their deaths by killing Uhlan
soldiers. Before his first murder, Old Milon was consumed by his hatred of the
Prussian soldiers and as a result, he did not take into account that the soldiers he

the Prussians, Old Milon spits in the colonel s face after being interrogated and
offered a deal that would spare his life, the farmer s hatred does not allow him to
forgive the Prussian army, and moreover, he takes it to another step by making
them do do just what he wants by a simple action, he did not want the pity or mercy
of the Prussians. In a way, Old Milon also had the last laugh against the Uhlans as
he played them as he liked and got them to kill him, in the end wanted to end his
hate motivated killing spree with pride to show his arrogance and to make his

Essay On Value Of Education. IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION ESSAY - English Essay

  • 1. Essay On Value Of Education Crafting an essay on the subject of the value of education poses both challenges and opportunities. On one hand, the topic is broad and essential, allowing for a myriad of perspectives and arguments. However, this very expansiveness can make it daunting to narrow down one's focus and create a coherent narrative. The difficulty lies in striking the right balance between highlighting the overarching importance of education and delving into specific aspects that contribute to its value. It requires a careful examination of historical, social, and personal dimensions, demanding a comprehensive understanding of educational systems, their evolution, and the role they play in shaping individuals and societies. Moreover, the task involves navigating through a vast sea of information, theories, and statistical data. Selecting relevant and impactful evidence is crucial to support the essay's arguments effectively. The challenge intensifies when attempting to engage the reader emotionally while maintaining an objective and analytical tone. The pressure to deliver a unique perspective on such a widely discussed topic can be overwhelming. It necessitates creativity and critical thinking to avoid clichГ©s and provide fresh insights. Striking the right chord between eloquence and simplicity is another hurdle, as conveying profound ideas in a digestible manner is an art in itself. In summary, composing an essay on the value of education requires a delicate balance between depth and accessibility, a thorough exploration of various dimensions, and the ability to synthesize information coherently. The task demands not only academic prowess but also a keen awareness of the societal and personal implications of education. If you find yourself struggling with such essays or need assistance with various topics, consider seeking help from professional writing services. • 2. My Leadership Philosophy Of Nursing I knew that I wished to be a nurse towards the end of my time in high school. While I enjoy the opportunity to help people I found that nursing is heavily based in scientific and system theory. Many years ago as a young lieutenant I attended a leadership breakfast with the Air Force Chief of the Nurse Corps. Over the course of the breakfast she opened the discussion up to our questions. I was pursuing my Clinical Nurse Leader Master s degree and I asked her why the Air Force had chosen to focus on the Clinical Nurse Specialist track. Her response was that nursing was still considered a job or a trade; rather than a profession, in large part due to the varied educational tracks. My encounter with Major General Siniscalchi and continuing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By working as a secret shopper nurse prior to assuming command I can identify those individuals possible of identifying and enacting the systems process that do need to be changed. Real change is never achieved just by one person but by many. For the interview portion of the paper I spoke with an Army Commander who was with me on my recent deployment. He recounted a leadership challenge that occurred when he was the Commander of a MEDEVAC company on an extended deployment to Honduras. The mission in Honduras was to provide MEDEVAC coverage to various humanitarian mission in Honduras and El Salvador. During a humanitarian mission to bring medical aid to a geographically remote town in El Salvador 1 MEDEVAC helicopter crashed. The crash occurred approximately 4 months into the Army Commander s rotation as the commander of the MEDEVAC Company. The helicopter landing zone (HLZ) selected for the mission was located along mountainous terrain and was only approachable along 1 side due to power lines. The second helicopter of a 2 ship mission approached the landing zone and upon making the turn to land lost power. The junior pilot relinquished flight controls to the senior pilot. Ultimately, the pilot in command was unable to regain power and he executed a controlled crash. The crash site was adjacent to the HLZ. The helicopter landed canted along a slop 1 2 feet from a 10 15 foot deep ravine. The rotor blades made contact with a tree that was providing
  • 3. Athletes Zero Tolerance Research Paper Michael McNelis Sociology 101 Professor Eckley 11/18/14 Criminal Athletes Zero Tolerance In the article For criminal athletes: Strike one, You re out; college and professional sports should address the link between athletes and crime by adopting a zero tolerance policy written by the Wisconsin State Journal. It states how it is time for the sports world to adopt a zero tolerance policy for athletes who break the law. Studies show that athletes are actually less likely to commit a crime than non athletes. The number of crimes involving athletes or student athletes is constantly rising. People do not want athletes who commit crimes to go through the justice system but to have the sports world act instead. Considering the benefits athletes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Social Status is an individual s position in a stratified social order (Conley A 11). In other words certain people maybe look at athletes differently because they play a sport, and because of there accomplishments. Kids look them at as role models; they are heroes by younger athletes, and as a positive image to the human race. And once people see professional and college athletes commit a crime or do something wrong they are not setting a good example. Every sport is getting more and more strict with a zero tolerance policy; it has not been stopping the players from committing the crimes, but only resulting in more and more suspensions. In 1993, Charles Barkley said in his famous Nike ad, I am not a role model. I am not paid to be a role model. I am paid to wreak havoc on the basketball court. Parents should be role models. Just because I dunk a basketball doesn t mean I should raise your kids (www.crimemuseum.org) . Most athletes do not see themselves as role models to anyone, they get paid to play a sport and that is
  • 4. Measuring Crime And Crime Statistics Measuring crime helps criminal justice agencies to reflect on the effectiveness of policies in existence and correctly target resources. Crime statistics are therefore central to solving crime in England and Wales. In order for crime to be tackled effectively, it is vital that it is measured accurately. There are two sources of crime statistics published annually in the UK namely policerecorded crime and the Crime Survey of England and Wales. According to the Crime Survey of England and Wales, in total there were 7.1 million incidents of crime in 2013 2014. Although there has been an 11% reduction in crime, several categories of crime such as sexual offences, fraud and public order offences are up from the previous year. In comparison, latest figures from police recorded crime shows no overall change from the previous year, with 3.7 million offences recorded in the year ending March 2014. Whilst Left Realists argue that crime statistics are an accurate indicator of the state of crime in society, the disparities between the sources of crime statistics suggest that crime statistics provide an inaccurate measurement of crime in the UK. Marxists believe that crime statistics are flawed and manipulated by the government in an attempt to deceive the public. Research calculated by Her Majesty s Inspectorate of Constabulary supports this view as it revealed that more than 800,000 offences are left off the official crime figure in England and Wales each year. It is clear that

  • 6. The Kite Runner Analysis The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini features a few archetypes within it. Hassan is the scapegoat and an innocent youth. He is naive and pure but at the same time he is brave and protective of his friend Amir. Hassan trusts Amir completely and loves him very much. Hassan s character in this novel is vital to the plot and to the character development of the main character, Amir. Hassan s innocence makes his rape important in making Amir realize the value of friendship. Hassan did not say anything to Amir after Amir accused him of theft. Hassan quietly tolerated everything and did not let any differences come in between his friendship with Amir. Amir, at first, didn t think much of his connection with Hassan but as time went on, Amir discovered the true meaning of friendship. Assef represents the villain in The Kite Runner. He is much more than just a menacing bully. Assef is the psychological force that Amir needed to overcome. Assef bullied Amir and Hassan a lot when they were kids. Amir was scared of Assef and wouldn t dare speak against him, but Hassan was willing to fight to save Amir if he was in trouble. Amir didn t fight against Assef when he was raping Hassan. He carried that guilt and regret with him his entire life. He finally stood up to Assef in Kabul and after running away from there with Sohrab, I m sure that Amir felt some sense of achievement and payback. Despite being badly beat by Assef, Amir probably felt as if he had faced his fear. Something he should ve

Human Skull Essay From Pompeian mosaic and Pre Columbian sculptures or reliefs, human skull carried a symbolical meaning of death and was a source of its philosophical contemplation and comprehension. Within long European tradition of Vanitas in art, it served as a reminder of impermanence of life. Combined with luxurious items and flowers, skull reiterated the inevitable transience of existence in Flemish still lifes, reversed sides of portrait panels and ornate mirrors. It appeared in decorations of kings tombs and church altars. Also, it was a warning symbol. Images of skull would send the threatening messages message via Jolly Roger or criminals tattoos. Zoe calmly walked over to the nearest door and opened it up, before going in she looked around the room where she saw a window. See I told you, I will go see if the window will open Zoe took a few steps then... SLAM. The door slammed closed leaving Zoe alone in the white empty room. She expedited to the door trying to open it, but it seemed to be locked. She heard the screams of Bella and the yellings of Violet trying to free Zoe. She turned and walked towards the window but as she got two feet away it started literally melting away like wax on a candle. She ran to it but the gooey wax like substance that once was a window burned her skin. This action instigated her to turn and ran to the locked door. But just as the window did, it started to melt to and disappear, along with the yells and screams of the other two girls trying to get it open. She screamed. But it was then when she noticed the eyes that stared at her all around the room. She slowly turned around with a horrific look on her face. As she turned all around the room there were dolls. The creepiest dolls you could ever imagine, they were chipped and broken. some had arms and legs broke, some had no head, but all of them were staring at her. All at once the rampant and

In addition, it will discuss the domestic gothic and real life abuse that prevails in ordinary situations. • 12. How Did Asoka Respond To The Mauryan Empire Dbq A great leader can turn anything from rust to gold with just the touch of his hands. Asoka was an enlightened ruler and not a ruthless conqueror, because of the positive changes he made upon the Mauryan Empire s society and his economical and political uplifts towards Kalinga. Asoka established many positive, beneficial changes to the Mauryan Empire after his conquest. The map of Asoka s Empire shows that many people died from being killed in the war, starvation, and disease spreading (Document A). But because of his conquest, Asoka added a large piece of land to the Mauryan Empire, right above the Godavari River. This benefitted the Mauryan Empire because they had more resources to occupy. Romila Thapar states that AsokaЕ› conquest of Kalinga was important because it gave the Mauryan Empire income and strategy ( Document B). The people of Kalinga could now have higher percentages of living and of supporting their families. This diminished the death rate of the empire as well. The reason being that Asoka brought a political uplight to the Mauryan Empire, and made it more uniform was due to his unique mind set. The historian, Michael woods quotes that Asoka s mind was a political order...[that] had never been been conceived of before in world history (Document C). Although a nay sayer would defend that he resolved all of his problems with violence, his broad and strong words were the ones that were very convincing. Analysis Of Coronation Of The Virgin By Gengtile Da Fabriano Once gracing the lavish floor of Getty Center, the Coronation of the Virgin which was painted by the extraordinary Italian artist Gentile da Fabriano in 1420, attracted many attentions by its sacredness, powerfulness and magic of the Christ. Since the first century, Christianity has played an important role in Western Art, which has inspired numerous artists in making their masterpieces. However, artists must follow the religious rules to build up the imagery of the Christ, and educate audience about the religious. Coronation of the Virgin by Fabriano is a perfect presentation of that. Gorgeously. Striking. Grace. The golden painting is taking up by the two most iconic symbols of Christianity: Jesus Christ and Virgin Mary. Christ gently placing a golden grown on the inclined head of the Virgin Mary, who is sitting on the right side of Jesus; her hands crossed over her chest symbolist of humble, reverent and loyalty. His first option builds retention in his 14 15 year old customer base by developing a targeted program. Developing a new program is a great idea. This is because at this age kids are involved in other activities making them less focused on competitive soccer. Dickens should design a program that does not involve competition and is purely recreational. The program should meet once a week in order to have an easy and stress free commitment. Also he should test his new programs out on his loyal and already informed market first. This way if the program goes bad, there will be less damage done and it will be easier to win over these customers versus the ones that don t know Dickens and his company. They can only see the similarity of the girls: their similar hair, morals, upbringing, clothes, disposition, stature, age. It is really hard to trust anyone or depend on the criminal justice system. There are even bad cops in America who have not been convicted for their wrongdoings. Many individuals get away with their actions because either are financially privileged, or have plenty of connections in the law enforcement. Those who are defined as middle class or poor do not have the ability to bribe others to receive what they want, or have the power to relinquish themselves out of trouble. Injustice is something that has always been relevant; a problem in American history and a problem today. Hutchinson was charged with sedition which is the action by encouraging others to rebel against the authority. She also held meetings after church to talk about the bible. Anne Hutchinson announces her own point of views that are above the human law and church teachings. This blinded Hercules from the truth that Cotys was the oppressor and Rhesus was trying to secure the throne for the true king. In the second use of political corruption Hercules was in Athens where he helped protect the citizens. He had become so loved that King Eurystheus was worried the citizens would begin to view Hercules as a god and no longer respect Eurystheus as a king. So one night, Eurystheus poisoned Hercules and sent three wolves to kill Hercules family thus the creation of Hera driving Hercules insane was constructed. After this, Hercules was banished from the city and Eurystheus was uncontested and a hero to the people. This idea of political corruption still persists in our society today. This interpretation, continues the idea that those in power will use and abuse the innocent to secure more power. Both Cotys and Eurystheus used Hercules until he became a threat and then disposed of him. Our political elections can be seen similarly, politicians need the 99% in order to be elected, but once they are elected, they can go against their promises since

No one would ever be able to evict them again. Relieved it was a single level house, they didn t have to worry about screens popping out a second story window. It did not have a porch with steps or garage, but it did have a basement and a large backyard. Molly, Susan, and Beth greeted the fearless foursome at the front door. Reunited as a family, they all squealed with delight at their new home. Standing in the entryway, the living room stood immediately to the left with the kitchen directly ahead. The kitchen had a sliding door hidden in the wall. Walking through the living room, crossing to the left stood a doorway that led to three bedrooms and a single bathroom for the nine member family. Max planned to remodel the house in stages, beginning on the third bedroom first. All seven children shared one bedroom while demolition began on the third bedroom, making it into a dining room adjacent to the living room. Kate and Millie quickly discovered they could hop from bed to bed without touching the floor. Remodeling began that very day. Using a sledgehammer, everyone took a turn smashing the east wall of the living room. They ripped a huge hole into the wall, taking turns hopping back
  • 37. The Us Strategy For Winning The Global War On Terrorism In light of this, it should be mentioned that the US strategy for winning the Global War on Terrorism is predicated on creating an international environment inhospitable to terrorists and all those who support them (Fogarty 2001). Meaning, that the fight against terrorism heavily relies on international cooperation. In order to achieve such a feat, nevertheless, America must be amiable by fellow governments and their citizens. Unfortunately, the reports and findings on GTMO makes it increasingly difficult for the American administration to do so, for the inhumane treatment makes citizens of other countries upset. Quoting General Colin Powell, people from other nation states are beginning to doubt the moral basis of our fight against terrorism (Duberstein as cited in Washington Monthly 2008). This proves to be an immense hindrance to the war, as America cannot hope to face all of the world s terrorists alone. To put this in perspective, one can take a look at the situation with Turkey and Russia. Earlier this year, a Russian jet was shot down by Turkey, having flown into the latter s airspace without permission (BBC 2015). Granted, there lies in factors such as the decades long animosity between the two countries. Albeit, who s to say that America s relations with countries will never reach such lows? Rather, previous Secretary of Defence Chuck Hagel says that one of the greatest long term dangers America faces is that we are now mistrusted by many nations, even our

During the fall of 1348, rumor spread that these deaths were caused by Jews intending to poison Christians. A number of jewswere then tortured and inquisited, confessing anything that the inquisitors suggested. Many Jews blamed others, these blames spreading from town to town and as a result thousands of Jews, at least 200 towns, were killed. Meaning Of Life Gilberto Fernandez Mrs. Manley Philosophy 13 December 2017 The Evolution of the Meaning of Life The complex idea of the meaning of life came to be first through the Hindu teachings. The four main purposes of life are Dharma meaning to act virtuously and righteously. Artha means the prosperity and successfulness in one s life. Kama being the concept of whatever action a person makes, they will receive the same back. Moksha is the proceeding of a spirit into another being according to their past life. Following the Hindus, then came the Dao teachings of life, using the five elements earth, wind, fire, water, and air for fulfilling one s personal goal in accomplishing a successful life. Through the use of the elements, Daoists have found certain rules of nature that are shown in our human existence. Because of the elements, our lives are constantly affected by outside forces and by nature itself. Therefore knowledge of the principles of nature will help a person move from being troubled by outside forces to being led by the natural inside forces that are centered in peace beyond outside forces. By following Tao, or the way, one must mentally teach oneself the capabilities of being successful in life on Earth. Tao is not a god but more of a way or self encouragement type of movement. The meaning of life in Confucianism is to follow the ways of Confucius to achieve your personal goal. Confucius believed that Tien Ming was that all living things are under the ultimate control

  • 50. Heart Rate And Its Effect On The Human Body Heart Rate as it Relates to Age and Sex Problem: The heart is the most important muscle in the human body. It is located in the circulatory system and it pumps blood along with other nutrients all through the body, which in turn keeps us alive. But, what is actually happening when it beats? Simultaneously, the heart is receiving deoxygenated blood and returning oxygenated blood to the body. It is made up of four chambers called the left and right atria, located on top, and the left and right ventricles, located on the bottom. The right atrium fills with blood from the veins and then contracts to send the blood to the right ventricle, which then sends oxygen rich blood to the lungs through arteries. At the same time, the left atrium fills with blood from the veins and then contracts sending blood to the left ventricle, which then sends blood to the rest of the body through arteries (Silverthorn). A pulse happens every time the heart contracts. Pulse in counted by the number of times an artery expands and contracts as a result of the heart beating. Needles can be used to reduce, renforce, or apply even stimulation depending on the symptoms that a person shows. Another method applying renforcing, reducing, or even stimulus is cupping. Cupping is where a cup with a low pressure inside is placed on a person s skin. There are three types of cupping, fire cupping, dry cupping, and wet cupping. In fire cupping, a glass cup that has had a cotton ball burned inside is used. The cup can be left in one place or it can be moved along the body. Moving it across the body can create the sensation of being massaged while leaving long red marks because the low pressure in the cup causes the capillaries in the skin to burst. When the cup is left in one place it can lead to a round mark. Another style of cupping that leaves a mark is wet cupping. Wet cupping where an incision is made then a cup is placed over the incision. The cup places over top can be applied either by fire cupping or dry cupping. Both required special training to perform unlike dry cupping which does not require any special training. Dry cupping is where plastic cups are placed on the body. The low pressure can be created with a small hand pump. Dry cupping with give the same type of bruise as fire cupping and has the same benefit.

Although he is later caught, Old Milon is arrogant and spiteful until the end.
