George Herring S Article The Legacy Of Vietnam Talks
George Herring s article The legacy of Vietnam talks about the military clash between the
communist North Vietnam, backed by its allies and the government of South Vietnam, backed by
the United States and other countries that are anti communist that happened in Vietnam during
Richard Nixon s presidency. The VietnamWar was a terrible war, especially for Vietnamese because
a millions of them died during the war. The author not just describes the war itself; he also analyzes
the killing and the attack that occurred during the war. In general the Vietnam War was the most
costly war contrast to other wars and it was the most shocking eras in American history. The
Vietnam War had an impact in American history. It brought fear from the war

He tried his best not to lose the war because he does not want American war to be the loser. The
United States troops were completely pulled back from Vietnam before the finish of March of
1973, yet America continued battling in Cambodia. North Vietnam did not respond to US notices
and before the year s over Nixon stayed weak after Watergate. In his article, the author said that
Nixon tried to protect the Thieu administration in South Vietnam and let South Vietnam on the safe
side because he needed the Thieu government to be secure. North Vietnam needed to have a unity
but South Vietnam strived to be a free country. Nixon s mission was to help and support the nations
that are US partners such as South Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, but other nations would need to
shield themselves from the communism. When Nixon attempted to stay faithful to his obligation to
the Thieu government in South Vietnam, Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger needed to proceed
onward to different United State interests gradually. The purpose for these spending is to secure the
Thieu government in South Vietnam. In his article, the author said that Nixon s administration
shows how much Kissinger feel afraid from the Negotiations that are full of twists. Despite the
hostility between United State and North Vietnam, Nixon still threatening them that he doesn t

In Addition To Saving And Bequest Channels, The Proposed
In addition to saving and bequest channels, the proposed model in this paper identifies two
additional channel of child labor. These are heterogeneity in child s ability, which causes
heterogeneity in the cost of education, and differential future expectation of parents depending on
their socio economic background. I attempt to capture these four channels using a number of
variables. For saving, I use income of household head and for bequest, I use whether the
household owns any house. Here income of household head may be under reported or may have
some types of measurement errors, so, we use several other variables to instrument it. Ownership
of a house is used to capture bequest as housing price is very high almost across the country... Show

Secondly, the socio economic group in which the household head belongs to is also crucial in
forming household head s expectation. Thus, I use household head s gender ($Head_female$),
Household head s sector of employment ($Sector$), religion of household head ($Religion$), and
the location of household ($Urban$). Using these variables I estimate the following models: Where
$y$ is child s working hours per day, $extbf{X}={Urban, Sector, Female, Head_literacy, Religion,
House,$ $ Head_income, Head_female, Dropout_ability, Dropout_cost, Dropout_income}$,
$extbf{Z}={Urban, Head _sector,$ $ Female, Head _literacy, House, Land, Num _hhchld, Head
_literacy, Head_age, Dropout_ability,$ $Dropout_cost, Religion, Dropout_income, TV,
Head_female}$, $Q_{N}(eta) = g_{N}(eta) W_{N}g_{N}(eta)$, $g_{N}(eta)=frac{1}{N}
sum_{i=1}^{N}Z epsilon$, and $W$ is a $Nimes N$ positive semi definite matrix. In addition, I
also estimate logit and probit model of child labor, where I attempt to estimate the probabilities of
being a child labor with respect to the variables mentioned above. Results of these models are
shown in the following table:
In the above table second column reports the OLS estimates. Dummy $Urban$ has positive
coefficient, which indicates that child labor on an average work 0.4 hour more in

Examples Of Id Ego And Superego In Lord Of The Flies
Sigmund Freud created the structural model of personality that describes the id, ego, and
superego parts of a person. Id is represented as the devil and based on the pleasure and benefiting
themselves. Ego is the angel and devil together, where there is balance of good and bad. Lastly,
superego is shown as the angel with good behavior and morals. In Golding s book Lord of the
Flies, he uses Jack, Ralph, and Piggy to represent Sigmund Freuds theory of the three personalities:
id, ego, and superego.
Throughout the book, it can be noticed that Jack has the id personality. He wants to kill the pigs
not for the benefit of the group, but for himself. He can also be seen as the devil because of how
he acts. When Ralph and Jack were talking to each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When the group were discussing about the fire, Piggy says, Cos the smoke s a signal and we
can t be rescued if we don t have smoke (173). Piggy is working to help out the boys by trying to
inform them about their situation, and how they can fix it together. Piggy is the voice of reason
out of all the boys by telling them how things will affect them as a group, and that is just like
how the superego tells the ego on how the action will influence society. Piggy always wants what
is best for the group, and wants them all to get off the island safely. When the group decided to
move the fire from the mountain, Golding describes, Piggy was so full of delight and
expanding liberty in Jack s departure, so full of pride in his contribution to the good of society,
that he helped to fetch wood (129). Piggy wants to guide the boys on the right path of survival,
and enjoys when he is able to help. His involvement in book by helping Ralph and the other boys
is based on the focus of the superego to help the needs of society.
Golding s Lord of the Flies takes the structural model of personality and uses it to represent Jack,
Ralph, and Piggy in the novel. He uses them to show how they interact with each other in society.
He wants the readers to understand that the id makes decisions and actions that feels good for
themselves, and not for others. The superego wants to help out society, and follow good morals,
but often gets overpowered and ignored by the id. Lasty, the ego is a balance of the two, and
listens to both the superego and the

The Birds Analysis
Alfred Hitchcock, who is known as the master of suspense, has directed six movies after Psycho.
None of the six movies is more successful and suspenseful than Psycho, however, according to
Cole Smithey, The Birds is more sophisticated film, and combines forward thinking special effects
with an unconventional soundscape to instill a palpable lurking fear in the audience (par.3). The
movie is based on a short story by an English author Daphne du Maurier focuses on flocks of birds
attack people in Bodega Bay in California.
Hitchcock s film techniques inspire directors in modern films and assist them in creating movies
using several techniques simulate Hitchcockian techniques to establish suspense. The sixth sense
(1999) Movie is directed and written by M. Night Shyamalan about a boy who can see and talk to
the dead. M. Night Shyamalan uses several film devises and techniques to create suspense.
The sixth sense movie reinvents several of the key Hitchcockian techniques illustrated in The Birds
and these techniques work together to convey suspense. The Sixth Sense is one of the rare current
movies about healing rather than harming states Andrew Sarris. (par.4).
Sounds in The Birds assist in forming suspense in the Birds movie by adding an appropriate sound

Performance Art Performance
I began attending San Jose State University from in Fall 2012. It was a stressful transition but I
soon settled into campus and began thoroughly enjoying the campus as an experience. A year and
a half had passed before my work as an English Major had begun to feel aimless. I began trying to
find another major. I found delight in being able to analyze social situations and public speaking
after taking the course, Argumentation and Advocacy. This class started my research into the
department and the possibility of switching majors. The wide array of courses such as interpersonal
communication, social issues, and performance studies offered courses that challenged me in ways
that were exciting to me. In Fall 2014, I officially changed my major... Show more content on

In my undergraduate degree, I directed and produced a public art performance under the supervision
of Dr. Oona Hatton. The performance, titled Our Stage, Your Voice , focused on learning what the
students of San Jose State University are thinking. Multiple performers would ask students walking
by to anonymously write down whatever they like on note cards. Two performers would be on a
stage at one time and would read whatever the thoughts that these students wrote down. These
statements were completely anonymous and thought up on the spot by the audience themselves. I
produced and directed this piece in 2014 and 2015. In each performance, despite their challenges
and learning opportunities, were overall great successes. Each performance accrued at least four
hundred note cards, and both the performers and audience members expressed the thought
provoking nature of the performance. In pursuing my master degree at San Jose State University, I
would like to continue putting this successful performance piece for the University. However, I m

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Personality Theory
MBTI Jackelyn Rivera Ferreyra Argosy University, 2017 Page Break The Myers Briggs Type
Indicator Personality (MBTI) was developed by Briggs Myers and her mother Katharine Cook
Briggs in 1943 during the onset of World War II (Ham, 2016). Briggs recognized the need for
psychological instruments that would value human differences and utilized the C G Jungs
theory in creating the MBTI (The Story of Isabel Briggs Myers, n.d). According to The Myers
Briggs Foundation (2014) Myers and Briggs initially tested a group of 20 relatives and friends.
They utilized such sample, because they thought they could predict their personality solemnly on
observation which by observation. The initial random sample did not truly represent a whole
population, but merely were used due to availability. At the beginning, the MBTI was only used
in adults (The Myers Briggs Foundation, 2014). In 1944 the form C of the MBTI instruments
was developed, which was used as employment screening. As Myers continued to expand her
instrument she applied it to the medical field. In 1951 she tested 5,355 medical students at 45
medical schools, to analyze satisfactory in the field, such reports were presented at the American
Psychological Association conference in 1964 (The Myers Briggs Foundation, 2014). In 1962 she
published the MBTI strictly for research usage, it categorizes participants into one of 16
personality types (Ham,2016). In the 1970 the test increased in relevance and in 1975

Affordable Rent And Flexible Accommodations
Rental assistance programs are offered to those living in the United States to provide affordable rent
and flexible accommodations to fit participant need. The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban
Development, often called Department of Housing and Urban Development or HUD for short,
offer three types of rental assistance programs that include privately owned subsidized housing,
public housing, and the Housing Choice Voucher Program. Privately owned subsidized housing is a
program in which apartmentowners offer reduced rents to low income tenants with the help of
HUD. Public housing provides affordable apartments for low income families, the elderly and those

The housing choice voucher allows a housing subsidy to be paid directly to the landlord on behalf
of a local public housing agency. The public housing agency is able to make payments as the
Department of Housing and Urban Development federally funds the voucher program. After the
subsidy is paid the participant pays the difference between the actual rent and that paid by the
subsidy. Upon receiving the housing voucher the public housing agency determines a payment
standard for the local housing market chosen by the voucher participant. The payment standard,
however doesn t limit the amount a landlord may charge or the voucher holder s portion of
payment. The housing voucher family [participant] must pay 30% of its monthly adjusted gross
income for rent and utilities, and if the unit rent is greater than the payment standard the family is
required to pay the additional amount (Housing Choice, n.d.). This is a general requirement and
specific public housing agencies may have slightly different requirements. In Cuyahoga County,
Under the rental voucher program, the family [participant] is generally required to pay
approximately 30% of adjusted monthly income toward rent and utilities. The Housing Assistance
Payment made by CMHA [Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority] to the owner generally pays

unclaimed property is defined as intangible personal property that has gone unclaimed by the
rightful owner (i.e. remained outstanding) for a specified period of time . Most of the items that are
considered unclaimed propertyis intangible. One common example of intangible unclaimed
property is uncashed checks.

This also requires the holder to perform due diligence about the owner and to notify them of their
unclaimed property. Again, each state has different laws about this but you must make attempts to

your communications, send letters, and send contact information. Once you made all the attempts
to contact them as you could, according to your states laws, you may report the fund as
unclaimed property at the expiration of the dormancy period. This is the amount of time that
must go by for a property to be considered unclaimed. These periods are at least a year for
properties such as unclaimed wages but can be up to 15 years for unclaimed travelers

Holden s Attitude to Loss
The Catcher In The Rye Holden s Attitude To Loss And Goodbyes The theme of loss and
goodbyes recurs throughout The Catcher in the Rye and each occurrence reinforces Holden s
negative attitude towards change. The most vivid quote to gain insight into Holden s view on
change and subsequently loss (Byrne, Kalua and Scheepers 2012: 64) is in chapter 16 when
Holden reflects back on his childhood and his regular school visits to the Natural History Museum,
Holden finds a great comfort in the static and unchanging displays in the museum and in the
continuity he finds in there, The best thing, though, in that museum was that everything always
stayed right where it was. Nobody d move. (SparkNote...2007). The first example of a departure we

This difficulty to accept the migration of the ducks is most likely due to Holden s inability to
adapt to and accept change and loss. We see this again in Chapter 16 Holden says after he
reminisces about his school trips to the Natural History Museum Certain things they should stay
the way they are. You ought to be able to stick them in one of those big glass cases and just leave
them alone. (Salinger 1994:110) To understand Holden s natural affinity towards constancy and
familiarity we need to look at his reaction and praise of the kettle drummer in the Radio City pre
show before the movie, we can see that Holden admires the drummer for his precision and
enthusiasm but mostly as he recognises him as a constant in the Radio City orchestra since he
was a child and Holden has memories attached to watching his performance I ve watched that
guy since I was about eight years old. My brother Allie and I, if we were with our parents and all,
we used to move our seats and go way down so we could watch him. He s the best drummer I

Animal Farm Totalitarianism
In George Orwell s classic novel, Animal Farm, Orwell uses symbolism to suggest that
totalitarianistic governments do not always last. Symbolism is the use of a person, place, thing,
or idea to represent something else. Because of how they run the farm and scare the animals into
submission, Old Major, Mr. Jones, and Napoleon are all characters in Animal Farm that
symbolize totalitarianism. At the beginning of the book, Old Major, a highly respected figure,
had experienced a dream that he had wanted to share with all of the other animals. Because Old
Major was becoming old and was living out the last of his days, the dream had prompted him to
gather the animals in the big barn to relay the dream immediately. He urged the animals to rebel
against Mr. Jones and take control of the farm by scaring them into action. No animal escapes
the cruel knife in the end. (Orwell 9) he had stated. By the end of his speech, the animals were
angry and scared of how their lives would eventually end according to Old Major. Not long after
his speech Old Major died, but not without making the animals fearful of what would happen if

Jones, the alcoholic owner of Manor Farm, ran the farm in a similar fashion to Old Major. He
scared the animals into obeying by abusing them and neglecting them. The next moment he and his
four men were in the store shed with whips in their hands, lashing out in all directions. (Orwell
19). Mr. Jones would forget to feed the animals and when they would attempt to get food, he would
punish them with whips. In turn, the animals would submit to him out of fear and Mr. Jones stayed
in charge. That is until they got fed up with the ill treatment and rebelled against Mr. Jones. The
animals chased Mr. Jones from the farm and once again got rid of

Tanning Bed Essay
Melanoma is the fifth most common cancer among men and the sixth most common cancer in
women (Melanoma Statistics). According to the Melanoma Research Foundation, the chances of
getting melanoma increases by 75% if one uses a tanning bed before the age of thirty. (Why is
tanning dangerous?). In addition, every one in three cancers diagnosed are diagnosed as skin cancer,
and nearly 75% of patients diagnosed have admitted to using a tanning bed at least once in their
lives. Although in some states it may be legal to use tanning beds under the age of eighteen, tanning
beds have been proven to cause melanoma and skin damage when used inappropriately. There are
nearly forty two states within the United States where they allow minors to use tanning beds under
the age of eighteen.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reasoning behind this is because tanning beds are bad for one s skin, health, and no one
takes into consideration how much damage they can cause. 35% of all American adults, 59% of
college students, 17% of all teens tan, but yet no one seems to realize the damage because it is
so easy to become addicted to. Tanning beds have been declared as carcinogen (cancer crawling
substances). Tanning beds can lead to long term effects like wrinkling in the skin, damage to
collagen of skin, cataracts and mutations that impair the DNA s normal functions. But tanning beds
can also lead to eye cancer and damage to the tissue. There are many other things out there that
people can use instead of going into a tanning bed and damaging their skin each time they go. They

Research Paper On Group Dynamics
Groups are the basic fundamental units of an organization. Groups accomplish more work in less
time than a number of people working individually. The interactions that take place among the
members of a group are referred to as a group dynamics.
Within an organization, a work group is usually the primary source of social identity for employees.
The nature of the group to which they belong may affect their performance at work and may
influence their relationships with people outside the organisation.
The various interactions that take place among the members of a group comprise group dynamics.
The term group dynamics was popularized by the management thinker, Kurt Lewin, in the 1930 s
There are three views regarding the nature of group dynamics. The normative view describes how a
group is to be organized and how its activities are to be carried out. This view emphasizes
democratic leadership, participation of the members, and cooperation among them. According to
the second view, group dynamics consists of a set of techniques. These techniques include role
plays, brainstorming, sensitivity training, team building, transactional analysis, Johari window and
self managed teams. Finally, the third view approaches group dynamics from the perspective of the
internal nature of groups. This view discusses how groups are formed, their structure and processes,
and their functioning. It also discussed how groups affect individual members, other groups, and
the organisation as a whole. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Pros And Cons Of The Legalization Of Marijuana
Many policies have come to the governments attention within the past decade concerning drug use
and prison reform. One policy that correlates to crime and drug use that has brought attention across
the nation is the legalization of marijuana. Marijuana has been consumed in the United States for
numerous years and has grown in popularity culminating in multiple states legalizing the drug.
There is large debate concerning whether nationwide legalizationis worth the cost. Of course, with
any controversial decision, there are always going to be pros and cons. Those who oppose
legalization make claims that marijuana is a gateway drug, impairs judgment, and is addictive.
Although those points are true to an extent there are also many benefits. Of the many benefits, the
most noteworthy ones are that marijuana can bring a lot of money to the government and economy,
it helps treat sickness and diseases, and it can be a safer alternative than opioid based medications.
The legalization of marijuana would also highly impact the criminal justice system by making law
enforcement more accessible to other areas where they are needed which can save the government
a lot of money. In this instance, legalizing marijuana would bring many benefits to society such as
stimulating the economy, treating sicknesses, providing government relief, and lowering opioid
use. The economy is vital to this country and the popularity of marijuana implies that growing this
crop would be a strong contributor

Disadvantages Of Automatic Telegraphs
The telegraph was what knocked the electric pen off of its Seaver 5 feet. Automatic telegraphs
used machinery to transmit messages at higher speeds than those sent and received by Morse
telegraph operators. Hand operators averaged 25 40 words per minute while the transmission
speeds of automatic telegraphs ranged from 60 120 words per minute for the ink recording
automatic telegraphs used in England to 500 1000 words per minute for Edison s chemical
recording system. However, even though transmission speeds were much higher with automatic
telegraphs, individual messages took longer to prepare for transmission and delivery. Automatic
telegraphs were most economical for long messages, such as the news reports sent by the
Associated Press. The more common short business and personal messages sent by telegraph
were transmitted more economically by hand operators, because they could send the message
from the original form submitted by the customer, and they translated the Morse code directly
into a final message as they received it. Automatic messages needed to be translated into
perforated tape before they could be run through a transmitter, and at the other end, the message
had to transcribed from the recorded Morse code before it could be delivered to the customer.
Edison worked on automatic telegraphs between 1870 and 1874. He first developed an improved
perforator with a keyboard similar to that of a typewriter that operated at about 35 words

friendship and prejudice, that help to emphasise revenge as the central theme of the play.
Revenge is an integral part of the play and characters in the play. Revenge is what drives Shylock,
seeking to obtain revenge on Antonio. In a way, Jessica seeks revenge for the hell that her father
made at home. In Venice, during the time of Shakespeare, Jews were not seen as humans. They
were alienated for their beliefs and due to the belief that Jews were responsible for the death of
Christ. As a result of this alienation, Jews were forced to wear red hats whenever going out,
which made them ripe for the picking for abuse and discrimination. Such discrimination has
been laid down on Shylock, with Antonio spitting on him and calling him a cut throat dog . As
seen in Scene Act 1, Scene 3, Antonio, even after receiving a loan, I am as like to call thee so
again, To spit on thee again, to spurn thee too. This shows how unthankful Antonio is towards
Shylock, simply because he is a Jew. It is no wonder why Shylock seeks revenge on Antonio. When
asked by Salanio what good a pound of flesh will do, Shylock simply states To bait fish withal: if it
will feed nothing else, it

Dr Pio Research Paper
Padre Pio was born in Italy on May 25, 1887. His family was very poor but taught him great values
of life. At a young age, Padre Pio proved he was devoted to God. At the age of five, he dedicated
his life to God. From early in his childhood, he showed a tremendous recollection of spirit and a
love for religious life around him. He was once described as a young boy who loved to go to church
and to pray. He was able to see and communicate with his guardian angel, Jesus, and the Virgin
Mary. In his simplicity, Francesco assumed everyone had the same experiences. When he was
fifteen years old, he was admitted to the novitiate of the Capuchin Order of the Friars Minor in
Morcone, Italy. On August 10, 1910, at the age of twenty three, Padre Pio was ordained to the
priesthood. Due to the long pauses of meditation in silence of which he entered at parts of the Holy

Saint Padre Pio died on September 23, 1968. He died with his Rosary in his hands. His last words
were GesГє, Maria. He had often proclaimed, After my death I will do more. My real mission will
begin after my death. The influence he had been among the church would be enough for most,
but Padre Pio thought he could do more. His prayer life was maybe the greatest of all saints. His
day began at 2:30 a.m. when he would begin his prayers and prepare for Mass. Between Mass and
confessions, his workday lasted 19 hours. He mostly stayed in monastery and never missed one

Product Design Personal Statement
Design is a funny word. Some people think design means how it looks. But of course, if you dig
deeper, it s really how it works. Steve Jobs.
A Design should not only be about reflecting the practical and aesthetic in business but most
saliently, it should serve people.
The word Design has always fascinated me. As a kid I was always filled with curiosity and found
myself not only questioning everything around me, but also trying to creatively improvise them.
Making storage pouches out of used soft drink bottles, Textured Handmade sheets, Deconstructed
Pen drives are some of the things always scattered around in my room.
After my high school I joined Raffles College of Design and Commerce , Mumbai, to study

Hester Prynne Conflict
Strength and growth come only through continuous effort and struggle Napoleon Hill. The novel
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne takes place in Boston 1642, a religious puritan town
with firm rules set in place. The conflict of the novel is focused between the character s sense of
morality and the emotions they hold for the ones around them. The main protagonist, Hester Prynne
is a humble but strong headed woman who kept her strength throughout the novel when faced with
adversity. She was bound by the letter A for adulteress as she had borne an illegitimate child; the
purpose of the scarlet symbol was to mark the possessor with shame. However, Hester wore the

A mother s love for her child compares to no other. Hester Prynne s mothering abilities were
challenged in the chapter, The Elf Child and the Minister, but she did not let that deter her from
fighting for her child. Mr. Wilson, a venerable pastor, cried out to Pearl ...who art thou, and what
has ailed thy mother to bedizen thee in this strange fashion? Art thou a Christian child ha? Dost
know thy catechism? Or art thou one of those naughty elfs or fairies whom we thought to have
left behind us... . Mr. Wilson s interest in the child lead Governor Bellingham, an elderly
gentleman, to inquire about her religious upbringing. Canst thou tell me, my child, who made
thee? said the Governor. Even though the girl had been informed about her heavenly father,
Pearl replied that she had not been made at all, but had been plucked by her mother off the bush
of wild roses that grew by the prison door . The Governor was astonished and quickly implied
that the child should be immediately released into the control of the Puritan Magistrate. Hester, a
force to be reckoned with, confronted the Governor and yelled, God gave me the child! He gave
her in requital of all things else, which ye had taken from me. She is my happiness...Pearl keeps
me here in life! ... Ye shall not take her! I will die first! Her passion for the child seeped through
every word spoken by herself and Mr. Dimmesdale who also defended her. Hester faced many

daughter was threatened to be taken from her. It takes immense strength to continue living

The Effectiveness of Conservation Intervention for Adults with Carpal Tunnel Syndrome: A Critical

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is the entrapment of the median nerve caused by compression or
swelling in the carpal tunnel of the wrist (Radomski and Latham, 2008). Typically it presents as
numbness, tingling, hypersensitivity, or burning sensation causing reduced function of the hand.

The trial was long and was delayed numerous times due to Kunstler s busy schedule with other
demanding trial cases. The delays were also part of Kunstler s defense strategy. There was an
abundance of evidence shown throughout the trial among which was the ballistics test. These test
showed that of the five shots that Skagen endured only two were from Richardson s gun. After a
yearlong trial the prosecutor and the defense gave their summations and the jury deliberated. The
deliberation took several days. In the end Richardson was convicted with three of the original
seven charges; manslaughter in the second degree, possessing a weapon as a felony, and criminal
possessing of stolen property in the third degree. The judge sentenced Richardson to a term no
more than ten years for the conviction of manslaughter in the second degree. No more than seven

conviction. The case was sent back to the original court and Richardson was resentenced to three

Port Operations Naval Station Norfolk SWOT Analysis
Naval Station Norfolk is home to over 150 vessels with frequent visits from ships throughout the
world. Port Operations is one of many departments onboard Naval Station Norfolk, and its mission
is to provide service and support to more than 150 ships in the US Atlantic fleet (CNIC, n.d.). Naval
Station Norfolk recently celebrated its 100 year anniversary. Although the base is quite seasoned, its
commitment to excellence has never wavered. In 1908, the first bill sent to Congress for the
construction of Naval Station Norfolk failed to find its way through the halls of Washington
(KГјrsener, 2010). In fact, it was not until 1917, after the start of World War II, that a bill was
approved to begin constructing the world s largest naval station (KГјrsener, 2010). The ability to
provide support to numerous afloat assets requires the involvement on many activities at the naval
station. Naval Station Norfolk supports more than ten primary mission functions while providing a
number of other services such as a medical and dental treatment facility designed to meet the needs
of thousands of service members in the Hampton Roads area. Additionally, the naval base routinely
hosts personnel for the Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Army, and Air Force

The Federal Court allows for the application for judicial review of the removal order and the
decision of the Immigration officer regarding eligibility . If the application reviewing officer has
any concerns regarding the claimant, and determines that the applicant is not eligible for the
refugee status based on one of the four key grounds mentioned above the case is most likely to be
appealed through the court.
During the trial each individual will have the opportunity to clarify any specific information and
give more precise and clear reasons for the purpose of immigration, with no right to further appeal
the final order issued by the Federal Court. In case the appeal goes well, then there is a hearing

The Pros And Cons Of Operation Gunnerside
During the Second World War many countries were participating in different covert ops, but one of
those ops would change the whole war entirely. During the war the Nazis created a bomb program
that needed to be terminated and that s just what Operation Gunnerside did.
First off, In April 1939, Germany began a secret program called the Uranverein or Uranium Club.
Led by physicist Kurt Diebner, the Nazi program hired some of the top scientist in Germany,
including Nobel Prize winner Werner Heisenberg. Unlike their fellow American the Germans
agreed to use heavy water as a moderator rather than graphite.(Bascomb) For example, In a nuclear
reactor, a moderator is used to slow down the movement neutrons and control the fission process. In
this way, the moderator helps to keep a chain reaction. Following Germany s invasion of Norway in

The Woman s Body
In the painting, a young, life sized woman is seen dressed in a very classy manner inside of a
bedroom in a palace. The top of her dress seems to be falling off of her breasts and shoulder a bit,
and her right leg is exposed. Sshe is bending backwards, and her facial expression seems to be
full of shock, disgust, anger, and fear, as if something horrific had just happened to her. Her
right arm is raised, almost as if she is surrendering and saying don t hurt me or I didn t ask for
this . In the lower left area of the portrait, there are two important items in which her face is
pointed towards: broken eggs on a silver platter and a dagger, which represent lost virginity and
self harm, respectively (DAI). The motion of the woman s body, her facial expression and clothes
she is wearing, and the iconographic items in the painting reveal that she is Lucretia, the woman
who was raped. According to the didactic, Lucretia was the wife of a Roman noble, and was raped
by Sextus, the son of Tarquin, who was the king of Rome. Tarquin s nephew, Brutus, led the
rebellion against the king, which eventually led to his banishment. After she was raped, Lucretia
told the incident to her brother and father and probably because of how guilty she felt stabbed
herself with the dagger that Sextus used to threaten her with. Interestingly, the dagger in the
painting is not bloody and Sextus is not present, although this appeared to have happened right after
the rape. Therefore, it makes sense

Marius s Loyalty To Power
Besides gaining an army, Marius gained something else: the extreme personal loyalty of the same
landless masses which he recruited into his army. The recruiting of the masses would change the
entire relationship between citizens, generals, the Senate and Roman institutional ideology. Prior
to Marius, the armies may have been loyal to a particular commander or general, but still fought
first and foremost for the Senate and People of Rome, as well as the preservation and expansion
of their own estates. After Marius, they fought for their Legate, that is their legally appointed
commander, and for the plunder and glory he could provide. These troops had no life outside the
army, and served for very long periods, serving terms from 20 to 25 years.... Show more content on

Further, the extreme loyalty to generals leading the army rather than state would lead to open
rebellion, civil war, the combination military political power and eventually the crowning of

Compare now, my fellow citizens, me, who am a new man, with those haughty nobles. What they
have but heard or read, I have witnessed or performed. What they have learned from books, I
have acquired in the field; and whether deeds or words are of greater estimation, it is for you to

relation to politics and moved to capitalize on this realization. His movement through politics would

By Rebecca Solnit, I have come to realize that my modern day life is not far from that of Alex s.
Throughout the process of reading this book I was shocked many times by the everyday acts of evil
against innocent people. It is sad to know that they are so common in our world today. Acts such as
robbery, rape and murder happen every day, and they don t always just take one thing from the
victims. As Alex often shows us, during the process of evil acts the victims are dehumanized
and beaten. The laws and regulations put in place today are supposed to protect people from
ever experiencing these horrid acts, yet even in Alex s story, little justice is done for those who
suffer. Society brings out the best and worst in people and often puts people in desperate
situations, allowing the darkness to come forth. People have become selfish, cold and heart less
without a care for the people around them. Our society and government today have created
monsters and have done so without giving any type of cure or proper treatment to bring them
back into the light. The darkness and evil that had consumed Alex is the same as the darkness
that is in our very world today. The world of darkness is breaking through the fake seams of
society that present a false picture of happiness, and if our government and people all over the

Legalizing Assisted Suicide Persuasive Essay
With the advances in medicine, physicians have the ability to extend a patient s life many years
passed what was possible even a mere fifty years ago. However, the quality of life of those
extended years has become a major topic of discussion. Many times the surviving years are
miserable for the patient, as well as the family. Legalizing assisted suicide would benefit
Medicare by bringing it out of huge debt. Also, it would relieve the pain of terminal patients and
open a door of opportunity for patients on the transplant list waiting for an organ. Because of all
humans eventually die, every person should have the right to live a pain free life. Although some
religions are opposed to it, assisted suicide should be legal in all of the United States to the

Animal Extinction and its Effects on the Human Race
Animal extinction is a tremendous problem in our society. Every year, more and more animals are
going extinct. If we don t do something to stop it, we could see a massive animal extinction in our
lifetime. Many people believe the extinction is irrelevant to human life. They are wrong. Every
species in our universe is part of a web. If one specie on the web goes the whole thing slowly starts
to fall apart, humans included (Bove).
We live in a magnificent place. I close my eyes. I feel the wind surround me, the birds chirping,
the horses galloping up on the near mountaintop. I open my eyes, and I see the prettiest baby dear

and I see two beautiful elephants flapping their huge ears at one another. There is the most adorable

National Basketball Association
The NBA (National Basketball Association) is a major factor in sports. As the years have gone
by the NBA has changed drastically. The players, jerseys, team names, and the teams logos.
Many more things changed as well. The baskets changed, the court patterns, some rules, how the
teams play and how they run things. Julius Erving one of the greats in the 70s has a unique style
other players may not have had. Julius was more commonly known as Dr. J. Julius was one of
the first NBA players to dunk from the free throw line. Nowadays we see many high fliers dunking
from the charity stripe. Such as Zach lavine, Aaron Gordon, Giannis Antetokounmpo, we ve also

changes. People enjoyed them some have hated them. Many people have enjoyed the NBA over
the years and others have not been so fond of it. We ve seen greats through the years and we ve
seen flukes. We ve been with a team or player ever since he s been in the league. Some fans are
super fans some are people who just enjoy the thrill of a game. The NBA has also seen tragic
injuries such as Paul George, Steve Nash, Stephen Curry, Kyrie Irving, and many others. They
rode with their player until full health always checking for news on them and seeing them.
Injuries were a major thing in the past as well. People saw players playing with ice on their knees

Hemigrapsus Oregon Bags Essay
The Hemigrapsus oregonensis has a hard, flat shell in a rectangular shape and ranges from two
to five centimeters in length. The dorsal side of the shell ranges in colors from greenish brown
to dark reddish brown. The surface of the carapace is uneven and has patterns that resemble
pebbles, among which they are commonly found (Hart 1982). Decapods are characterized as
having five pairs of legs, the first pair are claws and the other 4 are walking legs (Jensen 1957).
The H. oregonensis has a total of 10 appendages, unless physical damages have caused loss to
one or more of them. There are five appendages underneath its shell on each side. It has two claws
which are larger than the legs and located in front of the legs. Its limbs and claws are an adaptation

Rhino Poaching Essay
Poaching of Rhinos: A Growing Transnational Crime Industry
In 2011, the West African black rhino was declared extinct by the IUCN (International Union for
Conservation and Nature). Now all five rhino species left are in the endangers list (Poaching: The
Statistics). The reason the rhino population has nearly been driven to extinction is due to poaching.
The rhinos are being hunted and killed for their horns, which is a valued ingredient used in
traditional Asian medicines (Poaching of Rhinos in the Spotlight). In this essay, I will explore why
the rhinos are being poached, the overall impact of poaching in the rhino population, and what the
authorities are doing to deal with this profitable transnational crime industry.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, the rhino ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One being that the horns along with elephant tusks are used to create handles of daggers. This
however mostly happened in the 70 s and 80 s in Yamen (Shivamber). Another reason is that due
to its high value, wealthy individuals now use it as a status symbol (PoachingStatistics). This is
because rhino horn is more expensive than most things out there. For example, one kilo of
marijuana is rated at about $5,060, one kilo of gold at about $42, 972, and a kilo of cocaine at
about $48,885. However, the value of a kilo of rhino horn is about $100,000. It is estimated that
one rhino horn can produce about $1 million dollars. This is the reason being why this is such a

Since 2008, Poachers have killed more than 5,940 African rhinos. According to the IUCN and the
African Rhino Specialist Group (AfRSG), 1,338 rhinos were killed across Africa by in 2015,
making it a higher increase for the sixth year in a row (Poaching Statistics). The countries affected

Of Mice And Men American Dream Theme Essay
Of Mice and Men has many recurring themes throughout. One of the main themes is the
impossibility of the american dream. There are many characters that showed the theme. The
main characters George and Lennie showed it. Also Candy and Crooks shared a similar dream.
Another character that showed the theme was Curley s wife before she died. The impossibility
of the american dream is a major theme in Of Mice and Men. Lennie and George show this
theme very well. They have probably the biggest dream all. There dream is to own many acres
and have a farm. The aslo want to own rabbits (chapter 1). This dream travels throughout the
book, for example one day candy overhears Lennie and George talking about their dream and ask
them if he can join (chapter 3). The next day Lennie talks to crooks about their plans and dream
for a farm and crooks shows some interest in joining (chapter 4). This show the impossibility for an
american dream because they are wishing to sustain themselves. The figure out that the dream is
not possible and such freedoms and safety are not capable of being reached. Another character that

that time was looking to achieve the american dream. That also shows that the impossibility of the

Colorblinness Theory Essay
As it becomes evident from the above tenets, critical race theory was developed and centered on
issues of race and racism that are embedded in American society. Alternatively, other scholars situate
CRT within four tenets: (1) racism is normal, (2) interest convergence, (3) historical context, and (4)
narrative (Taylor, 2009).
In addition, CRT pushes to confront racial ideologies like colorblindness, neutrality, meritocracy,
and white privilege (Bell, 1992; Delgado Stefancic, 2012; Gotanda, 1996; Crenshaw 1988). A
closer examination on colorblindness demonstrates why it is a major focus in CRT. In their

The City Of Red Deer
Introduction and Summary
The City of Red Deer will be upgrading their existing content management system, TerminalFour
SiteManager, from version 7.4 to version 8. Version 8 is substantially different from version 7; it
will require a newer operating system and a newer version of SQL server among other resources.
Microsoft Server 2012 and Microsoft SQL Server 2012 have been selected as the operating system
and relational database management system for the upgrade, respectively. To support and maintain
the existing environment the new version will be deployed on a development server independent of
the existing architecture. The external website, www.reddeer.ca, and the internal site,

The city also has additional components that fall outside of the CMS/user control, the most
prominent being the www.reddeerevents.ca domain that will need to be tested for integration with
the new version of TerminalFour SiteManager v8.
Once the new server and website architecture are exposed the new features in v8 of SiteManager

The Biggest Earthquake Ever
May 22nd, 1960 this date will forever be in the records of history as one of the days when humanity
has witness the power of nature like never before and until today there hasn t been anything similar
to this cataclysm. Earthquakes are known around the world for their destruction and its killing path
that in the most powerful situations they can provoke. An earthquake happens when two blocks of
the earth suddenly slip past one another and the surface where they slip is called the fault. The
location of the earthquake above the surface is called the epicenter. Earthquakes has foreshocks
and aftershocks this are these are smaller earthquakes that take place before and after the main
shocks in the same Area. Aftershocks can still taking place after the main shock for weeks and

Morton Thiokoling
Mr. Ebeling never recovered from the disaster, I ve been under terrible stress since the accident,
he told The Houston Chronicle in 1987. I have headaches. I cry. I have bad dreams. I go into a
hypnotic trance almost daily. He soon left Thiokol and the engineering profession. For the rest of
his life he faulted himself for not doing enough to prevent the launch (Grimes p.2). Robert Ebeling
was one of the Morton Thiokol engineers who knew that the Challenger space shuttlewould
explode. The Challenger disaster occurred in 1986, and in the early 1980s, earlier versions of the
shuttle had been launched. There were signs of problems with the O rings, but they were never

The two most important seals are O rings, essentially large doughnut shaped pieces of synthetic
rubber that fill the tiny gap between two cylindrical segments that are bolted together. The O
rings are themselves protected from heat and flame damage by an initial barrier of putty (Boffey
p.2). O rings are designed to be tight to ensure that gases do not leak through them, so they
themselves must be protected from heat. Robert Ebeling knew that the rubber O rings that were
supposed to seal the joints between the booster rocket s segments would not perform well in cold
weather, and Florida was about to launch the shuttle in temperatures more than 30 degrees lower
than any previous launch (Grimes p.1). This seemingly minor piece would affect the entire shuttle
if there was even the slightest malfunction. O rings that are unable to seal the joints would create
leaks, eventually leading to a disaster. The critical problem, it added, was that rotational forces
generated as pressure builds up within the rocket caused a lifting off or unseating of the secondary
ring, a problem which has been known for quite some time. One proposal for eliminating this
problem, the memorandum said was a capture feature, not otherwise described, which would
prevent the seal from lifting off (Boffey p.4). A report stated that the secondary or backup ring for

Essay The Taliban and Afghanistan
The Taliban and Afghanistan
Afghanistan followed the same fate as dozens of formerly Soviet occupied countries after the
collapse of Moscow s Marxist government in 1991. Islamic factions, which had united to expel the
Russian occupiers in 1992, began to fight among themselves when it became apparent that post
communist coalition governments could not overcome the deep rooted ethnic and religious
differences of the members. It was in this atmosphere of economic strife and civil war that a
fundamentalist band of religious students emerged victorious. By 1996, this group, the
Taliban, ruled 90% of the country with a controversial holy iron hand. The other 10% of the

John F Kennedy Ich Bin Ein Berliner Analysis
On June 26, 1963, John F. Kennedy gave what is considered one of the most recognized and
poignant speeches of his career, and in the history of the cold war. The speech was named Ich
bin ein Berliner translated into I am a Berliner and was given at a time in history when
communism was trying to take hold across the globe. The division of Germany into the
communist East Germany and the democratic West Germany was a constant reminder of
communism s threat to freedom. Kennedy s speech, given in Democratic West Berlin, Germany,
brought together the free world as hundreds of thousands of people around the world were able
see first hand what communism did to people who were once free. The Berlin wall was built by
the Soviets in August 1961 and separated Communist East Berlin from Democratic West Berlin.
It was built as a way to prevent people in East Berlin from escaping to West Berlin. People in
East Berlin were experiencing their economy decreasing under Communism, whereas West Berlin
was experiencing economic growth. Several year s earlier the Soviet Union s leader Leonid
Khrushchev had wanted to sign a treaty saying no one from East Berlin could flee over to West
Berlin to be free. Khrushchev used the Soviet s nuclear bombs as threats and Kennedy told

The VietnamWar was a terrible war, especially for Vietnamese because a millions of them died during the war. The author not just describes the war itself; he also analyzes the killing and the attack that occurred during the war. The United States troops were completely pulled back from Vietnam before the finish of March of 1973, yet America continued battling in Cambodia. North Vietnam did not respond to US notices and before the year s over Nixon stayed weak after Watergate. In his article, the author said that Nixon tried to protect the Thieu administration in South Vietnam and let South Vietnam on the safe side because he needed the Thieu government to be secure. North Vietnam needed to have a unity but South Vietnam strived to be a free country. Nixon s mission was to help and support the nations that are US partners such as South Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, but other nations would need to shield themselves from the communism. When Nixon attempted to stay faithful to his obligation to the Thieu government in South Vietnam, Secretary of State Dr. Henry Kissinger needed to proceed onward to different United State interests gradually. The purpose for these spending is to secure the Thieu government in South Vietnam. • 3. In Addition To Saving And Bequest Channels, The Proposed In addition to saving and bequest channels, the proposed model in this paper identifies two additional channel of child labor. These are heterogeneity in child s ability, which causes heterogeneity in the cost of education, and differential future expectation of parents depending on their socio economic background. I attempt to capture these four channels using a number of variables. For saving, I use income of household head and for bequest, I use whether the household owns any house. Here income of household head may be under reported or may have some types of measurement errors, so, we use several other variables to instrument it. Ownership of a house is used to capture bequest as housing price is very high almost across the country... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Secondly, the socio economic group in which the household head belongs to is also crucial in forming household head s expectation. Thus, I use household head s gender ($Head_female$), Household head s sector of employment ($Sector$), religion of household head ($Religion$), and the location of household ($Urban$). Using these variables I estimate the following models: Where $y$ is child s working hours per day, $extbf{X}={Urban, Sector, Female, Head_literacy, Religion, House,$ $ Head_income, Head_female, Dropout_ability, Dropout_cost, Dropout_income}$, $extbf{Z}={Urban, Head _sector,$ $ Female, Head _literacy, House, Land, Num _hhchld, Head _literacy, Head_age, Dropout_ability,$ $Dropout_cost, Religion, Dropout_income, TV, Head_female}$, $Q_{N}(eta) = g_{N}(eta) W_{N}g_{N}(eta)$, $g_{N}(eta)=frac{1}{N} sum_{i=1}^{N}Z epsilon$, and $W$ is a $Nimes N$ positive semi definite matrix. In addition, I also estimate logit and probit model of child labor, where I attempt to estimate the probabilities of being a child labor with respect to the variables mentioned above. Results of these models are shown in the following table: In the above table second column reports the OLS estimates. • 4. Examples Of Id Ego And Superego In Lord Of The Flies Sigmund Freud created the structural model of personality that describes the id, ego, and superego parts of a person. Id is represented as the devil and based on the pleasure and benefiting themselves. Ego is the angel and devil together, where there is balance of good and bad. Lastly, superego is shown as the angel with good behavior and morals. In Golding s book Lord of the Flies, he uses Jack, Ralph, and Piggy to represent Sigmund Freuds theory of the three personalities: id, ego, and superego. Throughout the book, it can be noticed that Jack has the id personality. He wants to kill the pigs not for the benefit of the group, but for himself. He can also be seen as the devil because of how he acts. When Ralph and Jack were talking to each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When the group were discussing about the fire, Piggy says, Cos the smoke s a signal and we can t be rescued if we don t have smoke (173). Piggy is working to help out the boys by trying to inform them about their situation, and how they can fix it together. Piggy is the voice of reason out of all the boys by telling them how things will affect them as a group, and that is just like how the superego tells the ego on how the action will influence society. Piggy always wants what is best for the group, and wants them all to get off the island safely. When the group decided to move the fire from the mountain, Golding describes, Piggy was so full of delight and expanding liberty in Jack s departure, so full of pride in his contribution to the good of society, that he helped to fetch wood (129). Piggy wants to guide the boys on the right path of survival, and enjoys when he is able to help. His involvement in book by helping Ralph and the other boys is based on the focus of the superego to help the needs of society. Golding s Lord of the Flies takes the structural model of personality and uses it to represent Jack, Ralph, and Piggy in the novel. He uses them to show how they interact with each other in society. He wants the readers to understand that the id makes decisions and actions that feels good for themselves, and not for others. The superego wants to help out society, and follow good morals, but often gets overpowered and ignored by the id. Lasty, the ego is a balance of the two, and listens to both the superego and the ... • 13. Animal Farm Totalitarianism In George Orwell s classic novel, Animal Farm, Orwell uses symbolism to suggest that totalitarianistic governments do not always last. Symbolism is the use of a person, place, thing, or idea to represent something else. Because of how they run the farm and scare the animals into submission, Old Major, Mr. Jones, and Napoleon are all characters in Animal Farm that symbolize totalitarianism. At the beginning of the book, Old Major, a highly respected figure, had experienced a dream that he had wanted to share with all of the other animals. Because Old Major was becoming old and was living out the last of his days, the dream had prompted him to gather the animals in the big barn to relay the dream immediately. He urged the animals to rebel against Mr. Jones and take control of the farm by scaring them into action. No animal escapes the cruel knife in the end. (Orwell 9) he had stated. The interactions that take place among the members of a group are referred to as a group dynamics. Within an organization, a work group is usually the primary source of social identity for employees. The nature of the group to which they belong may affect their performance at work and may influence their relationships with people outside the organisation. The various interactions that take place among the members of a group comprise group dynamics. The term group dynamics was popularized by the management thinker, Kurt Lewin, in the 1930 s There are three views regarding the nature of group dynamics. The normative view describes how a group is to be organized and how its activities are to be carried out. This view emphasizes democratic leadership, participation of the members, and cooperation among them. According to the second view, group dynamics consists of a set of techniques. These techniques include role plays, brainstorming, sensitivity training, team building, transactional analysis, Johari window and self managed teams. Finally, the third view approaches group dynamics from the perspective of the internal nature of groups. This view discusses how groups are formed, their structure and processes, and their functioning. • 18. The Pros And Cons Of The Legalization Of Marijuana Many policies have come to the governments attention within the past decade concerning drug use and prison reform. One policy that correlates to crime and drug use that has brought attention across the nation is the legalization of marijuana. Marijuana has been consumed in the United States for numerous years and has grown in popularity culminating in multiple states legalizing the drug. There is large debate concerning whether nationwide legalizationis worth the cost. Of course, with any controversial decision, there are always going to be pros and cons. Those who oppose legalization make claims that marijuana is a gateway drug, impairs judgment, and is addictive. Although those points are true to an extent there are also many benefits. Of the many benefits, the most noteworthy ones are that marijuana can bring a lot of money to the government and economy, it helps treat sickness and diseases, and it can be a safer alternative than opioid based medications. The legalization of marijuana would also highly impact the criminal justice system by making law enforcement more accessible to other areas where they are needed which can save the government a lot of money. In this instance, legalizing marijuana would bring many benefits to society such as stimulating the economy, treating sicknesses, providing government relief, and lowering opioid use. • 19. Disadvantages Of Automatic Telegraphs The telegraph was what knocked the electric pen off of its Seaver 5 feet. Automatic telegraphs used machinery to transmit messages at higher speeds than those sent and received by Morse telegraph operators. Hand operators averaged 25 40 words per minute while the transmission speeds of automatic telegraphs ranged from 60 120 words per minute for the ink recording automatic telegraphs used in England to 500 1000 words per minute for Edison s chemical recording system. However, even though transmission speeds were much higher with automatic telegraphs, individual messages took longer to prepare for transmission and delivery. Automatic telegraphs were most economical for long messages, such as the news reports sent by the Associated Press. The more common short business and personal messages sent by telegraph were transmitted more economically by hand operators, because they could send the message from the original form submitted by the customer, and they translated the Morse code directly into a final message as they received it. Automatic messages needed to be translated into perforated tape before they could be run through a transmitter, and at the other end, the message had to transcribed from the recorded Morse code before it could be delivered to the customer. Edison worked on automatic telegraphs between 1870 and 1874. He first developed an improved perforator with a keyboard similar to that of a typewriter that operated at about 35 words ... • 20. Merchant Of Venice Theme Analysis The Merchant of Venice Question: The Merchant of Venice was a play about a Jewish moneylender who plots to cut off a pound of flesh from a Merchant whom he has a history with. Revenge was the central theme of Shakespeare s play The Merchant of Venice . However, there are other themes throughout the text, namely friendship and prejudice, that help to emphasise revenge as the central theme of the play. Revenge is an integral part of the play and characters in the play. Revenge is what drives Shylock, seeking to obtain revenge on Antonio. In a way, Jessica seeks revenge for the hell that her father made at home. In Venice, during the time of Shakespeare, Jews were not seen as humans. They were alienated for their beliefs and due to the belief that Jews were responsible for the death of Christ. As a result of this alienation, Jews were forced to wear red hats whenever going out, which made them ripe for the picking for abuse and discrimination. Such discrimination has been laid down on Shylock, with Antonio spitting on him and calling him a cut throat dog . As seen in Scene Act 1, Scene 3, Antonio, even after receiving a loan, I am as like to call thee so again, To spit on thee again, to spurn thee too. This shows how unthankful Antonio is towards Shylock, simply because he is a Jew. It is no wonder why Shylock seeks revenge on Antonio. When asked by Salanio what good a pound of flesh will do, Shylock simply states To bait fish withal: if it will feed nothing else, it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The motion of the woman s body, her facial expression and clothes she is wearing, and the iconographic items in the painting reveal that she is Lucretia, the woman who was raped. Tarquin s nephew, Brutus, led the rebellion against the king, which eventually led to his banishment. After she was raped, Lucretia told the incident to her brother and father and probably because of how guilty she felt stabbed herself with the dagger that Sextus used to threaten her with. The two most important seals are O rings, essentially large doughnut shaped pieces of synthetic rubber that fill the tiny gap between two cylindrical segments that are bolted together. The O rings are themselves protected from heat and flame damage by an initial barrier of putty (Boffey p.2). O rings are designed to be tight to ensure that gases do not leak through them, so they themselves must be protected from heat. Robert Ebeling knew that the rubber O rings that were supposed to seal the joints between the booster rocket s segments would not perform well in cold weather, and Florida was about to launch the shuttle in temperatures more than 30 degrees lower than any previous launch (Grimes p.1). This seemingly minor piece would affect the entire shuttle if there was even the slightest malfunction. O rings that are unable to seal the joints would create leaks, eventually leading to a disaster. The critical problem, it added, was that rotational forces generated as pressure builds up within the rocket caused a lifting off or unseating of the secondary ring, a problem which has been known for quite some time. One proposal for eliminating this problem, the memorandum said was a capture feature, not otherwise described, which would prevent the seal from lifting off (Boffey p.4).
