Essay On Use Of Internet
Crafting an essay on the use of the internet can be both challenging and intriguing. The internet,
a vast and ever-evolving entity, encompasses a myriad of aspects that demand thorough
exploration and analysis. From its inception to its current role in our daily lives, understanding
the multifaceted impact of the internet requires in-depth research and critical thinking.
One of the primary challenges lies in navigating through the plethora of information available on
the internet itself. It's easy to be overwhelmed by the sheer volume of data, varying perspectives,
and divergent opinions. Sorting through this abundance of information to extract relevant,
reliable, and credible sources is a task that demands time and discernment.
Furthermore, articulating a coherent narrative and organizing thoughts in a logical sequence can
be a formidable task. The subject is dynamic, with technological advancements and societal
shifts continually reshaping our relationship with the internet. Striking a balance between
historical context, current trends, and future possibilities requires finesse in weaving a narrative
that is both informative and engaging.
Addressing the ethical dimensions of the internet usage also adds a layer of complexity.
Navigating the fine line between the empowering potential of the internet and the potential risks
and pitfalls demands a nuanced approach. Balancing the benefits of connectivity, information
access, and communication with the challenges of privacy concerns, misinformation, and digital
addiction requires careful consideration.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the use of the internet is no small feat. It involves delving into
the historical roots, exploring the present landscape, and forecasting the future implications.
Navigating through the vast sea of information, maintaining a coherent narrative, and addressing
the ethical dimensions make it a challenging yet rewarding endeavor.

Corruption And City Problems In The Twentieth Century
In the early to mid twentieth century there was a lot of corruption and city
problems as these new cities were being built. Since most cities were built so fast
there was bad housing which lead to diseases spreading very rapidly, and there was
horrible working conditions. Many of these cities were dangers for the people that
lived there. Diseases started to spread very rapidly in this period of time. Different
social groups later into the twentieth century would try and stop them. Some of these
groups would succeed in their attempts to make their homes and work places better
Do to rapid growth of cities problems started to arise for both people and animals.
Immigrants coming into the cities were bringing all types of animals. They would
let their animals walk around the cities. Since both cars and animals occupied the
streets things began to became over crowded. In Brooklyn there were about 26,000
horses each producing 20 lbs. of manure and several gallons of urine each day.
When a horse or any other animal would die people sometimes left the bodies in the
streets. the streets where piled high with garbage since there was not a waste system
in place. At some points people could not get to the streets to get to their cars.
Tenement life was pretty bad. Most of the apartment buildings being built had no to
little ventilation. Most of the time more than one family would be placed in each
apartment. Since there were hardly any ventilation diseases spread very rapidly. Since
Psychological And Sociological Factors Of Stress
Introduction
Stress is defined as any situation which tends to disturb the equilibrium between a
living organism and its environment 1. Equilibrium is restored through biological
actions such as hormone secretion which lead to physiological changes that
prepare one for the fight or flight response. As a junior doctor, Mark is exposed
every day to many stressors such as death, suffering and long hours. There are also
many psychological and sociological factors in the work environment which can
further impact Mark s stress. It is therefore vitally important for new junior doctors
like Mark to be able to manage their stress and ask for help if they are unable to cope.

CRF is the main regulator of the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis and is
secreted by the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus4. It is released
into the anterior posterior gland where it binds to receptors on pituitary corticotropes
which stimulate the release of ACTH. ACTH mainly targets the adrenal cortex where
it stimulates production of glucocorticoids5 by increasing RNA, DNA and protein
synthesis3.
The second wave is slower and involves steroid hormones, such as glucocorticoids2,
more specifically cortisol in humans5. Glucocorticoids bind to glucocorticoid
receptors which are found in the majority of tissues3. Thus they have a wide range of
targets and actions, and so regulate metabolic, cardiovascular, immune and
behavioural processes2. One which is relevant to responding to stress is the target of
the adrenal medulla which when targeted increases PMNT expression and activity
which stimulates epinephrine synthesis3. Another important target is the liver where
the effect is an increased expression of gluconeogenic enzymes3 which helps to
increase metabolic activity. The heart is also a target where the effect is increased
contractility3.
Acute stress can also lead to secretion of other hormones. Vasopressin, or antidiuretic
hormone, is rapidly released from the PVN of the hypothalamus1. Its role is to help
The Problem Of Developing Substance Use Disorders
The Problem in Context Agoraphobia is a difficult mental illness to treat due to
the fact that there is a small number of people have been diagnosed with it.
According to the Mental Health First Aid USA (2013) roughly 0.9 American
adults are diagnosed with agoraphobia and the median age for onset is twenty
years old (p. 41). People who have agoraphobia have a higher risk of developing
substance use disorders by using drugs or alcohol to help them cope with anxiety. In
the twins case, they are heavy cigarette smokers and it has to be monitored how
many packs of cigarettes they are given. From research, there are no reports of
concerns with diversity, oppression, or populations at risk of individuals diagnosed
with agoraphobia. However,... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Planning and Intervention When DHR originally got involved with the twins, the
caseworker at the time was hoping that a family member would step in to become
guardian and take the responsibility for helping them with daily tasks. It was
extremely imperative that DHR found someone who would not manipulate or take
advantage of the twins. One niece did come forward and showed sincerity in
wanting the twins to move in her home. She claimed that when she was younger,
they would baby sit her and she wanted to return the favor. After a few months, the
twins moved into her home after the casework deemed it was a suitable place for
them to live. Things appeared to be going well until the niece lost her job and the
twins care began to get overwhelming for her. After a year, the niece went to DHR
and terminated her guardianship over the twins. DHR was able to find a suitable
apartment for the twins that was affordable and they have been leaving there since.
At DHR there was a homemaker, who would grocery shop and prescriptions for
clients. Sadly after they retired, the state closed the position and now caseworkers
either have to find affordable homemakers or do the tasks themselves. Since the twins
have little help from family, DHR monitors their checks from the conservator and
buys groceries. The current
Marie Gullemine Benoist Essay
Adoring one of the walls upstairs in the San Diego Museum of Art in the Balboa
Park is a neoclassical masterpiece crafted by French born artist Marie Guillemine
Benoist. This Oil painting, done on canvas, shows encased in a wreathed and rustic
bronze frame woven in fertile vines bearing fruit. With the respectful dimensions of
100.33 cm (39.5 in.) length and 81.6 cm (32.13 in.) width, and hanging slightly
above eye level it is easy to behold the bold and obvious detailing of the beautiful
young women it portrays. However as visually stunning as this paintingmay be, the
real beauty can be found in the history, controversy, and significance this work
conceals in secret.
Marie Gullemine Benoist also known as Marie Guillemine de Laville Leroux was
born in Paris France in 1768 where she later died in 1826. Being brought into the
world at the height of the neoclassical art movement it is no wonder this is where
she drew her artistic inspiration. The heavy influence of this style can be seen quite a
bit through the detailing Benoist included in her works of art. She is prominently
known for the romantic dresses, realistic contoured body detailing, and portrayal of
beauty rather than the reality which strictly corresponds with this style influenced by
the classical art and culture of ancient Rome and Greece. ... Show more content on

1.INTRODUCTION The invention of the transistor enabled the first radio telemetry
capsules, which utilized simple circuits for in vivo telemetric studies of the gastro
intestinal tract. These units could only transmit from a single sensor channel, and
were difficult to assemble due to the use of discrete components. The measurement
parameters consisted of temperature, pH or pressure, and the first attempts of
conducting real time noninvasive physiological measurements suffered from poor
reliability, low sensitivity, and short lifetimes of the devices. The first successful pH
gut profiles were achieved in 1972, with subsequent improvements in sensitivity and
lifetime. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Finally, the oxygen sensor will measure the oxygen gradient from the proximal to the
distal GI tract. This will, in future enable a variety of syndromes to be investigated
including the growth of aerobic bacteria or bacterial infection concomitant with low
oxygen tension, as well as the role of oxygen in the formation of radicals causing
cellular injury and path physiological conditions (inflammation and gastric
ulceration). The implementation of a generic oxygen sensor will also enable the
development of first generation enzyme linked amperometric biosensors, thus greatly
extending the range of future applications to include, e.g., glucose and lactate
sensing, as well as immune sensing protocols.

Traits Of Raskolnikov
Raskolnikov is depicted as crushed by poverty, but the anxieties of his position
had of late ceased to weigh upon him (Dostoyevsky 3). During 1861, the
Emancipation Reform had recently taken place. After the defeat of Russia in the
Crimean War, Russian officials declared to give rights to the serfs. The serfs were
treated poorly leading to protests and eventually leading to the Reform. The
Emancipation Reform put Russia backward socially and economically. The serfdom
illustrated Russia s weaknesses and Raskolnikov was a representation of an
individual struggling with Russia s difficulties. The economy was suffering and the
need for money became crucial for regular basic needs to survive. Fyodor

The Language Of The English Language Essay
The English language has been the language that most people use in conversations
and in everyday life. According to Carmen Santillana (2013), English is the most
used language in the world, and there are one out of five people that can speak or
understand the English language. There are 53 countries whose main languageis
English. According to a research in the US, it takes 4 7 years or even 10 years for
a student in the US to develop their academic language proficiency (p. 85). Every
country has their own language that is used mostly in conversing. Although Filipinos
are used to using their mother language in casual conversations, English should be
the medium of instruction for world history because it is appropriate, suitable, and
practical. People are used to using their mother language because this is the language
that they are familiar with. The mother language is the language that people use ever
since they were born. It is the language that their parents first used to talk to them.
For some people, their mother language is the most uncomplicated mean in
communicating with their peers. People easily understand each other if it is the
language that they were used to ever since they grew up. If people understand each
other easily, they would not have a hard time in conversing with each other.
Technology has been changing people s lives these days. People wanted everything
to be effortless in terms of all the things that they are doing especially with the words

The Aspects Of Contact Sports In Soccer
Contact sports are sports that you make contact with the ball or the player. In this
report, it classifies what are contact sports and what the rules equipment and players
are.
Soccer is a game where two teams of 11 play against each other to score and win
the game. The aim of the game is to get the ball into the soccer goals and at the end
of the game the team with the most goals wins.
In soccer there are 45 minutes in each half and there are two halfs. In soccer a
player cannot touch the ball with their hands or else their opposition is awarded a
foul. Red cards are worse than yellow cards. When someone gets a red card they
are sent off for them game and the next one. This also happens when you get two
yellow cards in the same game. Offside is one of the hardest rules to explain out of
them all. An offside is when you pass the ball to a teammate while they are offside.
One of the most famous players in soccer history was Edson Arantes do Nascimento,
also known as Pele. Pele scored 1281 goals out of 1363 games. Pele was known as
the most successful player in the world to score this much goals in soccer. Neymar
da Silva Santos JГєnior also known as neymar was told by the PSG manager this
year to come and join PSG for a record 220 million euros. Before Neymar moved to
PSG he played for one of the best clubs Barcelona. Soccer is a game of strategy and
good team thinking.

How Doctor Die By Ken Murry
In How Doctor Die, Ken Murry explains the choice of doctors when they have a
terminal illness. From the beginning, Ken gives an example of an orthopedist who
was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He quit his job and spent the rest of his day
with his family. A doctor is a person who treats disease and saves patients; however,
when they have an illness, they are also like other patients. They meet difficult
situations with their patients but also feel for them. They tend to be fair because they
know about medicine and its limits. They do not wantto die. Surely, each doctorhas
the preparation for death, and they want to find a way to die in peace. On the other
hand, some patients try to find a method to overcome their illness although they
have to bear pain. What I take from Murray s essay is that patients have a right to
chose how they die . Every one dies, eventually, but I agree with Murray that the
choice needs to be an informed decision. According to Murray, some patients fight
death, they use drugs, chemotherpy, radiation, surgical, or CPR. They believe that
they can overcome their illness. Doctors recommend that people who can not be
saved with treatment should just live their life with their family, enjoying the rest of
their days. Therefore, the doctors have to know what is best for their patients. They
should have treatment. When the patients spend a lot of money, this is not the way to
overcome illness. For example, there was a women trying to overcome her

the chronic illnesses that manifest from this emotional suppression are found most
commonly among women. According to the Office on Women s Health, US

sufferers are women. Just as astounding, the Department of Health and Human
Services also found that women are two to four times more likely to develop chronic
fatigue syndrome, and according to Grace Budrys, the author of Unequal Health:

this time of prevalent hysteria women had no political agency, and in comparison to
their male counterparts who were given plenty of opportunity and autonomy, women
were rendered powerless. Bound by their polite, constricted, and functionally domestic
existence. One of the ways in which psychosomatic illness or as defined in the
twentieth century; hysteria was manifested as a bodily protest against these
inequalities as well as an escape from the exhaustive yet unpaid demands of domestic
duties. Jane E. Goldstein explores the plight of women in the nineteenth century in
her book, Console and Classify: The French Psychiatric Profession in the Nineteenth
Century. A historian studying 19th century American middle class women has
proposed the contradiction between the relentless stress of their domestic life and the
prevailing feminine ideal of frailty, docility, and subordination to men made the flight

also very attractive to the travelers and tourists. This is why Switzerland is a great
place for travelling.
Culture
Switzerland is a nation of full of traditions. There are over 100 fun and enjoyable
holidays and festivals through out the year for celebrating foods, religions, and fall
harvest. The Swiss peoples love and enjoy gathering and celebrating festivals and
holidays with their families and friends.
The wine and cheese festivals are very common and celebrate few times a year. The
music festivals are mostly held in summer. The national day is at the first of
August, it is celebrated by having fire works, concerts and yodeling. The
Christmas in Switzerland is very special. Santa Clause will give out candies and
presents to the people on the street. The Swiss decorate the houses, sing carols,
wrap presents, bake cookies, and go to the church. All these make this cold and
windy season full of joy and peace. The Basler Fasnatch is another festival, which
lasted for 3 days. It starts at 4:00am at the market square. Men dress like

In 1613, when the colonist were in the fields or at the mill, the fort was attacked by
English sailors. They burned buildings, destroyed the crops, killed the farm animals,
and stole whatever they wanted. However, despite the loss, the colonists did not give

E. In 1621, the British king, James I declared that Acadia belonged to Britain. He
sent a Scottish lord, Sir William Alexander, and changed the name to Nova Scotia
(New Scotland). The Scottish settlers arrived and built a new fort called Charles Fort
near the ruins of Champlain s habitation.
F. Just eleven years later in 1632, Acadia was given back to the French, but England

The Between The Prince And Han Fei Tz
As an international student, sometimes it is really hard to connect the ethical theory
of western philosophers with my background knowledge; however, when I first read
about NiccolГІ Machiavelli s thoughts, I immediately related his theory with what I
had learned before I came to the United States. I find it really interesting to see that
the Chinese philosopher HanFei and the Italian philosopher NiccolГІ Machiavelli,
who actually was born 1800 years later, could develop such similar ethical theories.
To me, it is really significant to understand both western and eastern concepts.
Therefore, in this essay, I will be comparing and contrasting the similarities and the
unlikeness between The Prince and Han Fei Tz. Throughout the essay, my purpose is
to analyze whether or not these two theories can be applied to the real world
efficiently.
To start with, I would like to introduce more about Han Fei, whose status in China is
as important as Machiavelli s in the western country. Before the Qin Dynasty,
Confucianism was the mainstream and most of the people followed its rules of
humanity. Han Fei, however, thought that Confucianism is too ideology and could be
beguiling. He believed that selfishness and greed are the essences of human s
characters, which means that between people, there is nothing but self interest.
Hence, Han further developed a complete opposite point of view, which is the
doctrine of Legalism. The core of Legalism is the importance of the law; assuming

The chapters cover the social, philosophical, cultural, governmental and religious
aspects. The chapters offer an insight of how China and Eastern Asian cultures had
developed. It also elaborates on the dynasties that had ruled during this era.
China was isolated from West and South Asia because of the demographics of the
land. The writing system was not influenced by other cultures. They had created a
logographic system of writing. Every word had its own symbol. This writing system
was not only a major part of Chinese literature but also played a large part in the
political process. The Shang Dynasty was the first to have writing, cities, chariots, and

The Zhou created smaller domains which would eventually over through the central
government of Zhou. The Zhou had a hierarchy of rank which started with the king
and moved downward to farmers and traders. They also had practiced in the
collection concubines. During the Warring States Period the social structure of the
Zhou was being under minded by the advancement in military technology. While
trying to encourage populations by increasing land cultivation, iron technology
advancement also promoted economic expansion.
During this time Confucius emerged and brought on the ethical thought that family
was the basic unit of society (64). His recorded sayings were in the Analects which
were written by his disciples. His political ideas that the government should work
for the people, and the people should work with their government were also
followed by Menicus, and Xunzi. Daoism which focused on the larger importance
of natural order instead of making human actions the center of importance was
identified as Dao, or the Way. Legalist insisted on the need for rigorous laws instead
of following the ideals of Confucius. The laws of the Legalists were designed as
much to constrain officials as to regulate the common people. (71) Yin and Yang were
also and important strain of Chinese thought.
China was finally unified when the state of Qin adopted the Legalist policies, and

Effects Of Social Networking On College Grades
I.Introduction Cigarettes and alcohol are not the only items that people can be
addicted to. Some people can be addicted to gambling or exercising. Others can be
addicted to social networking. The pros of social networking and the
entertainment value is outweighed by the cons. Social networking is fun but it
can be harmful and addictive. People have always needed to communicate.
Texting, face time, social networking are new convenient ways to communicate.
These new forms of communication are not perfect and can have bad effects on
the user. Social networking is a distraction that negatively impacts social skills,
grammar, and test grades of youth. II.Social networking has negative effects such
as bad grammar that will affect college grades (Ives). Students that use social
networking have problems with grammar and spelling (Ives). Social networking is
responsible and for bad spelling and grammar. Social networking is addictive and
the people who use it receive insufficient grammar as a result. Spelling has an
equally important effect. Spelling is an easy way to see the brain power of an
individual. Spelling is very important in high school and college as well as your
whole life. Additionally spelling affects the quality someone s school years.
Grammar will directly affect the outcome of grades in school and in college. Good
grammar is a sign of professionalism. Bad spelling due to texting and social
networking has been linked to low college entrance exam scores (Ives). If
Play Me False Essay
John Kunat s article Play me false : Rape, Race, and Conquest in The Tempest puts
a focus on a theme that appears throughout the play that, while reading may be
glossed over and be put away to the time the literature was written in. Many writers
often grasp for deep meaning to substantiate their claims it did not feel like this was
the case. Kunat makes the case that Caliban isn t enslaved due to his raceor ethnicity
but rather due to his actions which lead to his punishments throughout the play. This
is reinforced by textual examples and laws of the time. The main crime Caliban
committed was rape or attempt of rape against Miranda. Caliban is then put to do
menial labor for Prospero. This was after Caliban went after Miranda. This refers...

After being accused of falsely holding the title of king, Ferdinand draws his sword
which Prospero sees as a crime and leads to Ferdinand s labor. This gives a legal
precedent which rationalize what he does and when he uses it against his own
kinsman it feels that it is less racially motivated and more to further Prospero s
plan. Kunat is expanding his argument by saying that Caliban was taught language
was near family before he tried to rape Miranda. Throughout the play it seems that
Prospero is just trying to manipulate people. The only issue I see with this is
everyone else around the island. When Antonio is marrying off his daughter to the
king of Tunis he was met with a large wave of disapproval. Sir, you may thank
yourself for this great loss, That would not bless our Europe with your daughter,
But rather lose her to an African; Where she at least is banish d from your eye, Who

To Kill A Mockingbird Analysis
According to harsh baptists in Harper Lee s, To Kill A Mockingbird, women are a
sin by definition (Lee 50). In the 1930s, society deemed a woman s place to be in
the house. Today, women have made strides in defining who they are for
themselves. Over the years women have faced a great deal of oppression.
Nonetheless, they have rebutted society s definition of women regarding their
education, their appearance, their job, and their fight for equal rights. Women
from the 1930s, the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, and women s lives in the present
day are different as, women from the 1930s and the novel face more conflicts when
it comes to their education and rights, while women s lives in the present day are
less daunting in getting an education or defying the typical female role, they are
also similar as they both face problems in the workplace and both struggle with
society s views about them. The women of the 1930s faced many challenges getting
an education compared to today. In the novel To Kill A Mockingbird, Scout is
excited when she first attends school, she is excited; however, it effaces by the end
of the day. Scout cannot quite grasp what she is missing out from in the education
she is currently receiving, yet Scout knows there is something else that she can
obtain. The mediocre and tedious learning is not what Scout thought the goal of the
school system was(Lee 37). In the novel, her teacher, Ms. Caroline, discourages
Scout from reading and writing outside of class. To
Asian Women Stereotypes
Western portrayals of Asian women in media have often been stereotypical, one
dimensional characters such as the submissive and docile Lotus Blossom, the strong
and domineering, but deceitful Dragon Lady, or the Asian hooker who is used as
nothing more than a mere prop for the male gaze (Kuo, Rachel). However, the
Western audience has also been exposed to other portrayals of Asian women through
another form of entertainment called anime. Anime, or Japanese animation, has many
genres that are named according to the target audience it is made for. For shounen,
meaning male adolescents, is largely about action packed adventures and
accomplishing a goal or defeating an enemy (Eisenbeis, Richard). The shounen genre,
however, despite its target audience that is... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

What Are The Similarities Between Samuel Johnson And
Noah...
The act of composing dictionaries, lexicography, was seen as peculiar; however,
men such as Samuel Johnson and Noah Webster dared to defy such ideologies. Both
men had their own reasons for taking on the daunting challenge of writing a
dictionary of the English Language. Their reasons may greatly differ such as
Webster s motivation of strengthening the national identity and Johnson s reason of
standardizing words with his witty definitions. Despite of their different motives for
defining words, Samuel Johnson and Noah Webster s beliefs can cross paths, they
both wanted certain words to be spelled more appropriately. Samuel Johnson was
widely known for his criticism and witty remarks towards a variety of people, which
does not exclude himself. Johnson s dictionaryis filled with facetious definitions that
are mocking someone. For instance, his famous definitionof oats is offensive towards
Scottish people. His definition of the word oats is, A grain, which in England is
generally given to horses, but in Scotland appears to support the people. The way he
chose to define the word oats reveals not only that Johnson thought the Scots were
hapless and inferior, but also that Johnson had a critical tone in his dictionary, A
Dictionary of the English Language. Whereas Noah Webster maintain a more
respectful and direct tone. In Webster s Compendious Dictionary of the English
language, his definitions do not exhibit any bias. Illustrations of this are

Walter Mitty s Dominant Secret Life (Rough) Written by James Thurber, The
Secret Life of Walter Mitty, is the story of Walter Mitty s day in the city
daydreaming of many scenarios of him being a hero and having power and fame.
Between each of his daydreams, he is interrupted repeatedly by the real life in a rude
fashion by his wife and other characters in the city, ending his daydreams. In The
Secret Life of Walter Mitty, many interpret that many of the supporting characters
look down on Walter Mitty. In his daydreams, Mr. Mitty is seen as being superior
to others and well respected by people, showing him to be dominant over all other
characters both in his daydreams and the real life. Walter Mitty s relationship with
his wife is one of the more unusual relationships that you would find during the late
30s. As the bible says, For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the
head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. (Ephesians, 5:23), but, in the
story, the husband, Walter Mitty is inferior to Mrs. Mitty. [...] Walter Mitty is
henpecked. Whether chastising her husband for driving too fast, reminding him
he is no longer young, badgering him into wearing his gloves and overshoes,
making him drive to a garage to have his car chains removed, ordering him to wait
for her at the drugstore, or accusing him of hiding from her in the hotel. (Blythe,
111). This can tell us that Mrs. Mitty is treating her husband as an incapable older
man, because she thinks that he can t remove the chain on his car or constantly
nagging him about putting on his gloves and buying overshoes, and as a young
brat because she reminds him to not drive too fast, and accusing him of hiding
from her in the hotel sitting on a chair like a child. Mrs. Mitty brings up that Walter
Mitty might have some mental problems and that he needs to go see their family
doctor, Dr. Renshaw, It s one of your days. I wish you d let Dr. Renshaw look you
over. (Thurber, 1) This indicates that Walter Mitty is someone that gets regularly
checked by their family doctor because of a medical problem or an old age. Walter
Mitty thinks that the Parking Lot Attendant are scorning him since after snapping out
of his second fantasy, the

Under Italian Law two main types of company may be incorporated: S.p.A. (SocietГ
per Azioni) and S.r.l. (SocietГ a responsabilitГ limitata). S.p.A. is the normal form
for larger companies (joint stock companies). An S.p.A. may be listed on the Stock
Exchange although the absolute majority are not. It is however necessary for a
company to be an S.p.A. in order to be listed thereon. S.r.l. in practice corresponds
to a closely held limited company. It is the kind of structure which is more suited to
small tomedium sized enterprises where limited liability is required. This is by far
the most common type of company used by Italian entrepreneurs and that most
frequently chosen by foreign parent companies when setting up their subsidiaries in
Italy. The governance structure of corporations is twotired: the managing board
(consiglio di amministrazione) has the function of ratifying decisions that have been
previously taken by the controlling group, and is supplemented by a board of
auditors (collegio sindacale) who are responsible for internal monitoring. Directors
can either be executive or nonexecutive and there is only a limited number of
external directors. They tend to meet only a few times a year and the meetings are
frequently of poor quality. In addition, information is generally scarce and
incomplete. Even though board members and managers are supposed to use the agent

Rooster Syndrome Research Paper
Ever heard of rooster syndrome? Well, it is a classic illustration of a misconception,
where it was once believed that because a rooster crowed just before dawn every
morning, then its crowing caused the sun to rise. So the form of thinking is: A
occurred, then B occurred therefore, A caused B, hence, rooster syndrome. It is
natural human tendency to assume that if two events or phenomena reliably happen
at about the same time then one is the reason for the other. However, this notion is
simply not true. Just because the crowing rooster and the rising sun seem like they
correlate, does not mean that one causes the other, therefore, correlation does not
imply causation. In this paper there will be an explanation to what distinguishes...

Instead, it is a fallacy to assume that just because two events are correlated they tend
to cause each other also. Unfortunately, it is often a very difficult matter to
distinguish true causal relationship; the only way to get close to finding the truth is
to rule out certain alternative hypotheses, thereby strengthening the case of causation.
Still, this method may be unattainable to a certain extent considering the fact that
there may be multiple factors contributing to an outcome or that some things may
have both a direct and indirect effect, or perhaps, simply acknowledging that there
may be more than just one answer to the

Max Weber, one of the founding fathers of Sociology, is described as our greatest
resource as a sociologist (Collins, 1986: 5), and is considered by many
contemporary sociologists the most important contributor to the discipline. As
Bendix notes, The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism (1904; 1976),

This observation had been made many times before. Weber himself noted that the
Catholic congresses in Germany had previously acknowledged the issue (1930:3),
and another scholar, Trevor Roper(1967), noted that this argument had been
addressed even 100 years before Weber, in Charles Viller s essay on The Spirit and
Influence of Luther s Reformation (Villers 1804). Weber s contribution instead was
to give a reason for it to turn the observation into a grand socio economic theory

The data reveals that reactions occurred in all four test tubes. This means that all
four test tubes turned out to be positive reactions. The data collected regarding the
reactions did not meet the expectation. The expectation was that two out of the
four tubes would yield a reaction. To be specific, the expectation was that only one
of the first two tubes would have a reaction, and only one of the second two tubes
(tubes 3 4) would have a reaction. This was the expectation because the goal of the
reactions was to verify the structure of the alkyl halides. The structure of the tert
butyl chloride and chlorobutane were in question. If they reacted with NaI, it could
be concluded that they were primary alkyl halides. If they reacted with AgNO3, it

AgNO3 easily undergoes reactions with tertiary alkyl halides (SN1). The four tubes
should not all have undergone reactions because that would give an unclear
indication whether or not the alkyl halides were primary or tertiary. Two tubes were
supposed to undergo reaction and two should not have. It is likely that the error that
made the extra two test tubes react was contamination. If the test tubes contained
traces of both solvents, it would be possible that the alkyl halides would react in all
the test tubes. This is because the alkyl halide would react with its preferred solvent,
even if the solvent is present in small quantities. This contamination could have been
due to using the same pipette to transfer the solvents. It also could have been possible
that the test tubes used were not properly cleaned and still contained traces of

Film Analysis Of The Boy In The Striped Pajamas
In the Film, The Boy in the Striped Pajamas, Directed by, Mark Herman takes place
during World War II. The main characters are Bruno, a German boy who is the son
of an SS officer that is played by Asa Butterfield, and Shmuel a Jewish boy who is
captured inside a concentration camp, played by Jack Scanlon. This film is art
because it does an amazing job of portraying how they treated people in the camps
thus making you feel anger and sympathy.
To help Shmuel, Bruno dug a hole under the fence and dressed like the people inside
the concentration camp to help him find his father who he hasn t seen in days. Bruno,
being the son of an SS officer is forbidden to form any relationships with Jews and
even more going near the camps. The final scene of the movie starts out with the
camera showing dark clouds with a loud sound of thunder and the pouring rain
making the audience feel a sense of worries and sadness. The next shot, shows the
boys being pushed and struggling through the crowd of men walking in the mud
with wet dirty clothes. The director makes it this way so that we see as much as
the kids are, making the audience anxious and wonder where the boys are going to
be directed next. The boys are being led by Jewish guards towards the gas
chambers, showing that guards are also Jewish is makes it more depressing because
they are leading their own kind to their death. It cuts back to Bruno s father, Ralf
realizes his son is missing and he might be at the camp. A shot of Bruno s

I had a conversation with the head classroom teacher for the student and she
outlined the student I assessed, Hamilton Brown, and his diagnosis. He is in the 4th

Special Education classroom at the Opportunity School program in Oswego, Illinois.
Per the interview, I was able to select a few items I believed would have a better
chance at being reinforcement items for this specific student. I performed an informal

found interest in all the items, and had I used extra time to conduct another

after Hamilton stood up and walked away from the table. This led me to believe that
the toys were either not as reinforcing or the soft music playing in the hallway was

The Lady Of Shalott Poem Analysis
These are some of the chosen lines of Alfred Lord Tennyson s from his poetic
work; I will start my claim to peruse my viewpoint by above mention reference
because it is relevant about the subject matter, in addition, these are from the poem
of The Lady of Shalott. Then the second thing is, it s about mythical LANDSCAPE
among Tennyson s finest achievements that symbolize states of human
consciousness; the dreamlike quality of his vision, combined with his ability to see
at close range with preternatural clarity and detail, rendered his dreams more vivid
than our realities. Ultimately it will get me to explore the THEMES of REALITY
and FANTASY from his poetic diction.
First, Tennyson starts out The Lady of Shalott with a quiet description... Show more

The entire poem is constructed in this way, often opting for words languid , driveth
galingale slumberous etc. that, especially when describing sleepy imagery, force the
reader to slow down and contain stresses that give the poem a form of hypnotic
rhythm, relating back to sleep and escapism. In addition to his use of phonetics and
rhythm, Tennyson includes various images that make the sleep state , and therefore
the state the Lotus eaters offer, more appealing. The charmed sunset linger d low ,
like downward smoke and than tir d eyelids upon tir d eyes are all examples that
possess connotations of laziness or sleep, and therefore makes a more attractive
option as opposed to the toil experienced by the rest of the world, enhancing the
desire for escape. as accomplishes this by contrasting the positive aspects of the
world of escapism with reality and its negativities.
In the end, to sum up, from the poem The Lady of Shalott Tennyson focused on
two main subjects the Lady s isolation in the tower as a fantasy and her decision to
participate in the living world as reality. If we search for the theme of Fantasy, it is
everywhere all over the poem as the whole subject matter has come from the
imaginative world of Celtic
Transfer Of Juvenile Offenders
Brevin, The laws governing the transfer of juvenile offenders from the juvenile court
system to the adult criminal court system do vary from state to state, consequently, a
very small percentage are actually waived (Office of Juvenile Justice and
Delinquency Prevention, n.d.). The discretion of the court is first and foremost to
protect society from a violent offender. There are instances where a juvenile offender
poses such a great risk to society, although they are extremely rare, the court will
have no choice but to remand them to be held. The state of Tennessee specifically
identified crimes within legislation dictating which crimes can be transferred to
criminal court (Justia US Law, n.d.). In the Tennessee Statute 37 1 134, it states
The Pit And The Pendulum Analysis
Bernard Beckett, an author, once wrote, Human spirit is the ability to face the
uncertainty of the future with curiosity and optimism. It is the belief that problems
can be solved, differences resolved. It is a type of confidence. And it is fragile. It
can be blackened by fear and superstition. This declaration fits flawlessly in with the
narrator s mindset and thoughtprocess in the short story, The Pit and the Pendulum by
Edgar Allen Poe. Poe s literature takes place towards the end of the Spanish
Inquisition, and is about a man, the narrator of the story, that is sentenced to death by
means not known to him. As the character goes through the first phase of this forlorn
process his characteristics are revealed by the author. Poe expresses the narrator s
determination to remain hopeful and his optimistic nature through the use of diction,
figurative language, and syntax.
In other words, Poe uses diction to illustrate the narrator s struggle to remain hopeful.
In the beginning as the narrator was forced to sit before the judges as they came to a
conclusion, he crestfallenly states, The sentence the dread sentence of death was the
last distinct accentuation which reached my ears (Poe 264). Within this sentence the
author chose words such as dread, death, and distinct, which shows the character s
feelings towards this sentence of death: The character feels as if it is absolute, or
distinct, and although he dreads it, he has to face it. Then all at once the

We decided that our best choice to stay at was Panama City, since it had everything

The Functionalist Perspective In The MoviePleasantville
In the movie Pleasantville two kids named David and Jennifer, living in the 1990 s
get sucked into to a tv show called Pleasantville which takes place in the 1950 s
where everything is perfect . Now living in a completely different era and being
named Bud and Mary Sue, they must try to adjust to this new culture while
attempting to find a way to get back to their present day. Through the whole movie
they realize how much that the world has changed in 40 years. The town of
Pleasantville is set in black and white, but as people start to change and feel more
emotion they turn into color. While watching the movie it was interesting to watch
the characters learn more about the past from different perspectives.
One perspective that we watched for was the functionalist perspective. This comes
from the functional theory which is, if parts of society are working well and
everyone is doing what is expected then it is a normal state. However, if some are
not meeting their expectations in society, then that is considered an abnormal state.
In the movie s case it is referring to people in the community of Pleasantville and
whether they are meeting expectations or not. One example of this is when a cat
got stuck in a tree. A cat was stuck in a tree as Bud and Mary Sue watched the fire
department come get it down. This is what was expected in this town so it is a
normal state. Another example of this is the basketball team never misses a shot. In
Pleasantville the basketball team is expected to make every shot so when Bud see
s them at practice making every shot it is considered a normal state. Another
example is during the same practice Bud is talking to one of the basketball players
named Skip. They are talking about Mary Sue and how Skip wants to go out with
her, but Bud doesn t think it is a good idea. After the conversation Skip misses a
shot. Since this is considered an abnormal state for the team they all react by not
touching that ball ever again and getting rid of it. This was the first sign in the
movie of an abnormal state starting to occur. One more example is when Bud was
running late for work at the diner and he walks in seeing his Mr. Johnson (co worker)
just starting to clean the counter. Bud goes up to

He believed in hard work and a tough mental state of mind from his men. He

s legendary Pancho Villa in 1916 with the U.S. Cavalry. He was later transferred to
the new Armored branch as the first U.S. Commander of Armor. During World War
I, Patton was struck by machine gun fire and was seriously wounded, narrowly
escaping a possible death. (1). After being wounded, Patton stayed in the armed
forces and continued to head the Armored division during the time of peace. Soon
enough Patton s expertise and services would be requested once again in a mere
twenty years. On September 1, 1939, a Nazi leader named Adolph Hitler ordered
his German troops to invade and take over Poland. It was this day that marked the
beginning of the tumultuous World War II. The United States didn t declare any
involvement in this European campaign until December 15, 1941, more than two
years later. This war was fought in Europe, against Germany, to oppose Germany s
rapid march toward a militaristic society. An opposition standing in the Nazi s way
was none other than the most feared general in any army, George Patton.Patton s first
great contributions to the war effort started on November 7, 1942, when he led his

Major Steps in Plant Tissue Culture Essay examples
The increasing in the world s population nowadays has lead to the increase in the
demand for food. It is being a priority for the crops and food industries to find a
solution to this matter in order to produce high amount of food and provide good
quality food for the consumers. This is where the technology of plant tissue culture
steps in. As Lineberger (n.d) mentions, plant tissue culture can contributes to the
agriculture industry in the future and give advantageous to the growers because the
mass production of plant and crops can be produced in a short period of time using
the tissue collected from single parent plant. He also include that the plant can be

Thus, size and source of the explants must take into consideration as well as the
plant genotype (Smith, 2013). Smith has stated that smaller size explant is harder
to culture compare to the larger explants where it contain enough nutrient and plant
growth hormone to support its growth. He also added that plant material that is
taken from the field is more contaminated compared to the plant material that taken
from greenhouse. As mentioned by Beryl (2000), the media, explants, culture
vessels and apparatus used should be maintained in sterilized condition to ensure
an ideal medium for the culture to growth. The tissue is washed with the warm
soapy water and rinse in tap water to remove surface contaminants. Tween 80 and
Tween 20 can then be added to further sterilized the plant and then rinse three times
with the sterilized distilled water (Daud, Jayaraman, Mohamed, 2012). Ethyl and

Comparison between the Great Wall and Egyptian Pyramids
The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World refers to remarkable constructions
during classical era. Through the ages, there have been numerous versions of the
original list of the Seven Wonders ; however, only one of these miraculous
buildings has remained intact the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt, which is also
the oldest of the ancient wonders. On the west bank of the Nile River, there are
three pyramid erected on a rocky plateau in Giza in the northern part of Egypt.
These pyramids were named after these kings Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure agree

It was the Ming Emperors, who restored the buildings of the Wall after ending the
conflicts with invaders. During the Ming Dynasty, the wall was reconstructed,
repaired and rebuilt, and new sections were also added. Many dynasties reigned
over China during this almost 2000 year project, and the final major renovations
were done during the Ming Dynasty (par.3). The time needed to complete the Great
Wall is much longer than that used to build the pyramids. Furthermore, it was much
more difficult to construct the Wall in terms of the environment and the
manpower. Before building the Great Pyramid, the pharaoh Khufu selected the site
prudently in order to choose the most suitable location, and there were five basic
requirements for the location. First, the site should be constructed in the sunset
region and higher than the Nile s flood plain to be safe; considering the
convenience of transporting materials, the site should also be located on the bank
of Nile close to Memphis which was the Egyptian capital. Finally, the site should
be located on the solid bedrock and in a plain in order to build suitable levels of
foundations of the construction (Jackson and Stamp 23). Khufu chose Giza as the
site of construction, because it occupied a plateau overlooking the Nile River, and
there were plenty of raw materials, such as limestone was accessible (Smith 108).
According to Craig B. Smith, the exact nature of the workforce it took to build the
pyramid is unknown.

towards the working class (Independent Jonathan Owen). Yet Dietrich Mateschitz a
previous marketing executive in Austria found this drink when he was in Thailand,
he then altered some ingredients to adhere to a more pleasing taste. This lead to Red
Bullbeing one of the most popular energy drinks in the world, making it not only a
brand but also a lifestyle. Red Bulls logo is originally blue and sliver with two
gaurs charging to each other with the sun as the background, with the slogans being
The world of Red Bull and Red Bull gives you wings . These marketingslogans
highlight the product being beyond just a drink, but being a major supporter to the
entertainment industry, extreme and regular sport, marketing and providing the
product in a more eccentric way, bringing the psychological draw to consumers
and popularity to the drink. As a product Red Bull is carbonated, flavoured berry
energy drink, which increases endurance, speed and an over all more boosted self.
With a variety of Red Bulls produced such as, sugar free, zero calorie and limited
edition, providing the consumers with a range of products. Through out the years
Red Bull has been distributed and embraced through out the world, the first sale was
April 1st in Austria (RedBull.com). We are selling in 106 countries worldwide
(Dietrich Mateschitz), for this mass production, there is a clear strategy that Red Bull
focus on which is
Network Effects On The Organization
Networks Effects on Organization Homework 2 Raghava Katreepalli, Dawg:
853242522 Introduction: This Paper discuss about network effects on two different
organizations. Firstly it will discuss about network effects on physical organization
and then about virtual organization. Network effects or function of network size and
network strength [1]. The theory related to network effects on organization can be
categorized into three parts [1]: i. depends on technology adopted i.e., what factors
would contribute if new technology is adopted ii. Technology compatibility decision
i.e., what factors involve in organization for seeking compatibility iii. Decision
among competing incompatible technologies i.e., what factors involve in consumer

In order to deliver a packet, a sender may have to wait for a certain period of time
[4] until its receiver becomes active. Sleep latency degrades the performance (e.g.,
delay and energy consumption) of various kinds of data forwarding designs in low
duty cycle networks. There are two features that make flooding in low duty cycle
networks challenging. First, a packet is unlikely to be received by multiple nodes
simultaneously as in always awake networks. To broadcast a packet, a sender has
to transmit the same packet multiple times if its receivers do not wake up at the
same time. Thus flooding in such networks is realized essentially by multiple
unicasts. Second, unlike wired networks, wireless communication is notoriously
unreliable [4]. A transmission is repeated if the previous transmissions are not
successful due to wireless loss. The combination of low duty cycle operation and
unreliable links necessitates the design of a different flooding mechanism than
those found in wired networks and always awake wireless networks. These
combined have a knock on effects on reliability and cost [4]. One straightforward
solution could be building a routing tree for flooding. Yet this type of solutions have
been shown [7] to be fragile, because the failure of a parent node prevents
Analysis Of James Baldwin s The Fire Next Time
The following are my reflections on The Fire Next Time, James Baldwin s (1963)
two autobiographical essays, a compelling precursor to many of the components of
the Civil Rights movement, with resounding motifs of power/politics, religion
/morality, racial injustice, and freedom. Baldwin lived in Europe for a number of
years and felt compelled to return to America to get involved in the Civil Rights
movement ( James Baldwin Biography life, children, name, school, son, old,
information, born, movie, time, n.d.). The Fire Next Time was his plea for blacks
and whites who profoundly need each other here if to really to develop a nation.
In the first essay, My Dungeon Shook: Letter to my Nephew on the One Hundredth

Jensen (2005), argues how people have a discriminating inclination on how they see
history. When history is being used to make an ostentatious gesture of the past, it
becomes vital. Jensen, (2005) also refers to the new White People s Burden, (p. 93) as
they understand that they are the problem and need to face what reality really means,
and act based on that understanding. In essence, Baldwin wanted to help his nephew
survive as a black man in America, with a more sympathetic concept of racial
tautness.
The second essay, Down at the Cross: Letter From a Region in my Mind,
channeled Baldwin s more in depth feelings on racial discrimination, political
freedom, and his religious journey, which quickly turned into his power, that kept
him safe from the criminal streets of Harlem that encompassed gambling, drinking,
drug addiction and hopelessness. The title of this essay itself, Down at the Cross,
has Christian symbolism. A recurring pivotal them in Baldwin s (1963) book, was
the question asked to Baldwin in both his childhood and adulthood, Whose little
boy are you? (p.28). He associated this question initially with fear, as he was asked
this first as a little boy by pimps and racketeers from the Avenue in Harlem where he
grew up. Baldwin (1963) said they suggested that he should
Frequency Collection
Purpose: Introduction/background of problem
The purpose of this report is to provide our boss with an analysis of the age of
customers to determine what motivates their buying habits. The information that has
been gathered suggests that different age groups buys different products and for
different reasons. In order to test this theory our boss developed a survey that was
sent out to 200 customers requesting their age and income levels. A $25 gift card was
established as an incentive for customers to complete the survey. This resulted in 124
customers completing the survey and receiving a gift card toward their next
purchase. The customer information was compiled in a data list and then a frequency
distribution histogram was developed using ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

I would recommend we use this age group as a starting point to gather more
information and determine what motivates them to purchase items. This
information can be used to help determine how and when items should be
marketed according to age and income levels. I would recommend that a strategy is
developed that targets the 25 to 35 year old age groups. This age group had a low
amount of purchases during this time frame. For this age group, I would
recommend a strategy that advertise on social media sites and possibly have a
popular young star become a sponsor of the product. Another age group with low
sales is the 65 to 77 year group. This group has the least amount of sales and
depending on the product a combination of television and radio ads may persuade
these buyers to purchase
Exercising Free Speech In Public Schools
If you are the only person who speak about a particular issue, nothing gets resolve.
What you have to say will be ignored. That s because it s only when the masses speak
out, that any issue can be resolved. So if you re amoung 101 protesters, and only 100
protesters are needed to get anybody to listen, does it really matter whether if you re
there or not? Many students, professors, and young people are speaking out the
MUN fee hikes. Since so many people are speaking out on the issue, does it really
matter if I voice my opinion or not? The other reason why I wonder why we bother
exercising free speech is because there will always be consequences for what you or I
have to say. Many people are too afraid to talk about political and social issues

Introduction:
An Electronic Institution contains different types of agents playing different roles in
a given scenario. Every scenario is composed of coordination protocol by specifying
their roles in that particular scenario. Every Electronic Institution [2] is composed of

Traffic control system here employs police agents to monitor the activities of
vehicles and impose fine for any offence committed by the car agents. Car agents
will follow the norm if they are aware that a police agent is watching and may or
may not obey if they realize the absence of a police agent. To generalize, traffic
control system may setup secret cameras at first to see how many are following the
norm irrespective of the presence and absence of police agent. Depending on the data
collected a decision can be made whether to use a police agent or reduce the
monitoring using a police agent. An Electronic Institution is said to be more
successful if it can adopt itself to a changing environment and such an Electronic
Institution is called Adaptive Electronic Institution and hence the ideal characteristic
of an Adaptive Electronic Institution is it should initiate and control by itself. Some
of the characteristics of an Adaptive Electronic Institution are it should be able to
configure and reconfigure itself under varying conditions; it must be able to optimize
its inner workings; monitor its components and adjust its processing to achieve its
goals; it should able to identify the malfunctioning if any and should be able to repair
itself. Why only an Adaptive Electronic Institution? We have already defined an

  • 2. Corruption And City Problems In The Twentieth Century In the early to mid twentieth century there was a lot of corruption and city problems as these new cities were being built. Since most cities were built so fast there was bad housing which lead to diseases spreading very rapidly, and there was horrible working conditions. Many of these cities were dangers for the people that lived there. Diseases started to spread very rapidly in this period of time. Different social groups later into the twentieth century would try and stop them. Some of these groups would succeed in their attempts to make their homes and work places better Do to rapid growth of cities problems started to arise for both people and animals. Immigrants coming into the cities were bringing all types of animals. They would let their animals walk around the cities. Since both cars and animals occupied the streets things began to became over crowded. In Brooklyn there were about 26,000 horses each producing 20 lbs. of manure and several gallons of urine each day. When a horse or any other animal would die people sometimes left the bodies in the streets. the streets where piled high with garbage since there was not a waste system in place. At some points people could not get to the streets to get to their cars. Tenement life was pretty bad. Most of the apartment buildings being built had no to little ventilation. Equilibrium is restored through biological actions such as hormone secretion which lead to physiological changes that prepare one for the fight or flight response. There are also many psychological and sociological factors in the work environment which can further impact Mark s stress. CRF is the main regulator of the hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis and is secreted by the paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus4. It is released into the anterior posterior gland where it binds to receptors on pituitary corticotropes which stimulate the release of ACTH. ACTH mainly targets the adrenal cortex where it stimulates production of glucocorticoids5 by increasing RNA, DNA and protein synthesis3. The second wave is slower and involves steroid hormones, such as glucocorticoids2, more specifically cortisol in humans5. Glucocorticoids bind to glucocorticoid receptors which are found in the majority of tissues3. Thus they have a wide range of targets and actions, and so regulate metabolic, cardiovascular, immune and behavioural processes2. One which is relevant to responding to stress is the target of the adrenal medulla which when targeted increases PMNT expression and activity which stimulates epinephrine synthesis3. Another important target is the liver where the effect is an increased expression of gluconeogenic enzymes3 which helps to increase metabolic activity. The heart is also a target where the effect is increased contractility3. Acute stress can also lead to secretion of other hormones. Vasopressin, or antidiuretic hormone, is rapidly released from the PVN of the hypothalamus1. Its role is to help

Planning and Intervention When DHR originally got involved with the twins, the caseworker at the time was hoping that a family member would step in to become guardian and take the responsibility for helping them with daily tasks. It was extremely imperative that DHR found someone who would not manipulate or take advantage of the twins. One niece did come forward and showed sincerity in wanting the twins to move in her home. She claimed that when she was younger, they would baby sit her and she wanted to return the favor. After a few months, the twins moved into her home after the casework deemed it was a suitable place for them to live. Things appeared to be going well until the niece lost her job and the twins care began to get overwhelming for her. After a year, the niece went to DHR and terminated her guardianship over the twins. DHR was able to find a suitable apartment for the twins that was affordable and they have been leaving there since. At DHR there was a homemaker, who would grocery shop and prescriptions for clients. Marie Gullemine Benoist Essay Adoring one of the walls upstairs in the San Diego Museum of Art in the Balboa Park is a neoclassical masterpiece crafted by French born artist Marie Guillemine Benoist. This Oil painting, done on canvas, shows encased in a wreathed and rustic bronze frame woven in fertile vines bearing fruit. With the respectful dimensions of 100.33 cm (39.5 in.) length and 81.6 cm (32.13 in.) width, and hanging slightly above eye level it is easy to behold the bold and obvious detailing of the beautiful young women it portrays. Marie Gullemine Benoist also known as Marie Guillemine de Laville Leroux was born in Paris France in 1768 where she later died in 1826. Being brought into the world at the height of the neoclassical art movement it is no wonder this is where she drew her artistic inspiration. The heavy influence of this style can be seen quite a bit through the detailing Benoist included in her works of art. She is prominently known for the romantic dresses, realistic contoured body detailing, and portrayal of beauty rather than the reality which strictly corresponds with this style influenced by the classical art and culture of ancient Rome and Greece. ... From the beginning, Ken gives an example of an orthopedist who was diagnosed with stomach cancer. He quit his job and spent the rest of his day with his family. A doctor is a person who treats disease and saves patients; however, when they have an illness, they are also like other patients. They meet difficult situations with their patients but also feel for them. They tend to be fair because they know about medicine and its limits. They do not wantto die. Surely, each doctorhas the preparation for death, and they want to find a way to die in peace. On the other hand, some patients try to find a method to overcome their illness although they have to bear pain. What I take from Murray s essay is that patients have a right to chose how they die . Every one dies, eventually, but I agree with Murray that the choice needs to be an informed decision. According to Murray, some patients fight death, they use drugs, chemotherpy, radiation, surgical, or CPR. They believe that they can overcome their illness. Doctors recommend that people who can not be saved with treatment should just live their life with their family, enjoying the rest of their days. Therefore, the doctors have to know what is best for their patients. They should have treatment. When the patients spend a lot of money, this is not the way to overcome illness. To me, it is really significant to understand both western and eastern concepts. Therefore, in this essay, I will be comparing and contrasting the similarities and the unlikeness between The Prince and Han Fei Tz. Throughout the essay, my purpose is to analyze whether or not these two theories can be applied to the real world efficiently. To start with, I would like to introduce more about Han Fei, whose status in China is as important as Machiavelli s in the western country. Before the Qin Dynasty, Confucianism was the mainstream and most of the people followed its rules of humanity. Han Fei, however, thought that Confucianism is too ideology and could be beguiling. He believed that selfishness and greed are the essences of human s characters, which means that between people, there is nothing but self interest. Hence, Han further developed a complete opposite point of view, which is the doctrine of Legalism. The core of Legalism is the importance of the law; assuming that

Walter Mitty Character Analysis Walter Mitty s Dominant Secret Life (Rough) Written by James Thurber, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, is the story of Walter Mitty s day in the city daydreaming of many scenarios of him being a hero and having power and fame. Between each of his daydreams, he is interrupted repeatedly by the real life in a rude fashion by his wife and other characters in the city, ending his daydreams. In The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, many interpret that many of the supporting characters look down on Walter Mitty. In his daydreams, Mr. Mitty is seen as being superior to others and well respected by people, showing him to be dominant over all other characters both in his daydreams and the real life. Walter Mitty s relationship with his wife is one of the more unusual relationships that you would find during the late 30s. As the bible says, For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. Whether chastising her husband for driving too fast, reminding him he is no longer young, badgering him into wearing his gloves and overshoes, making him drive to a garage to have his car chains removed, ordering him to wait for her at the drugstore, or accusing him of hiding from her in the hotel. (Blythe, 111). This can tell us that Mrs. Mitty is treating her husband as an incapable older man, because she thinks that he can t remove the chain on his car or constantly nagging him about putting on his gloves and buying overshoes, and as a young brat because she reminds him to not drive too fast, and accusing him of hiding from her in the hotel sitting on a chair like a child. Mrs. Mitty brings up that Walter Mitty might have some mental problems and that he needs to go see their family doctor, Dr. Renshaw, It s one of your days. I wish you d let Dr. Renshaw look you over. It is natural human tendency to assume that if two events or phenomena reliably happen at about the same time then one is the reason for the other. However, this notion is simply not true. Just because the crowing rooster and the rising sun seem like they correlate, does not mean that one causes the other, therefore, correlation does not imply causation. In this paper there will be an explanation to what distinguishes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Instead, it is a fallacy to assume that just because two events are correlated they tend to cause each other also. Unfortunately, it is often a very difficult matter to distinguish true causal relationship; the only way to get close to finding the truth is to rule out certain alternative hypotheses, thereby strengthening the case of causation. Still, this method may be unattainable to a certain extent considering the fact that there may be multiple factors contributing to an outcome or that some things may have both a direct and indirect effect, or perhaps, simply acknowledging that there may be more than just one answer to the

This means that all four test tubes turned out to be positive reactions. The data collected regarding the reactions did not meet the expectation. The expectation was that two out of the four tubes would yield a reaction. To be specific, the expectation was that only one of the first two tubes would have a reaction, and only one of the second two tubes (tubes 3 4) would have a reaction. This was the expectation because the goal of the reactions was to verify the structure of the alkyl halides. The structure of the tert butyl chloride and chlorobutane were in question. If they reacted with NaI, it could be concluded that they were primary alkyl halides. If they reacted with AgNO3, it could be concluded that they were tertiary alkyl halides.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... AgNO3 easily undergoes reactions with tertiary alkyl halides (SN1). The four tubes should not all have undergone reactions because that would give an unclear indication whether or not the alkyl halides were primary or tertiary. Two tubes were supposed to undergo reaction and two should not have. It is likely that the error that made the extra two test tubes react was contamination. If the test tubes contained traces of both solvents, it would be possible that the alkyl halides would react in all the test tubes. This is because the alkyl halide would react with its preferred solvent, even if the solvent is present in small quantities. This contamination could have been due to using the same pipette to transfer the solvents. It also could have been possible that the test tubes used were not properly cleaned and still contained traces of

The main characters are Bruno, a German boy who is the son of an SS officer that is played by Asa Butterfield, and Shmuel a Jewish boy who is captured inside a concentration camp, played by Jack Scanlon. This film is art because it does an amazing job of portraying how they treated people in the camps thus making you feel anger and sympathy. To help Shmuel, Bruno dug a hole under the fence and dressed like the people inside the concentration camp to help him find his father who he hasn t seen in days. Bruno, being the son of an SS officer is forbidden to form any relationships with Jews and even more going near the camps. The final scene of the movie starts out with the camera showing dark clouds with a loud sound of thunder and the pouring rain making the audience feel a sense of worries and sadness. The next shot, shows the boys being pushed and struggling through the crowd of men walking in the mud with wet dirty clothes. The director makes it this way so that we see as much as the kids are, making the audience anxious and wonder where the boys are going to be directed next. The boys are being led by Jewish guards towards the gas chambers, showing that guards are also Jewish is makes it more depressing because they are leading their own kind to their death. It cuts back to Bruno s father, Ralf realizes his son is missing and he might be at the camp. A shot of Bruno s

The Lady Of Shalott Poem Analysis These are some of the chosen lines of Alfred Lord Tennyson s from his poetic work; I will start my claim to peruse my viewpoint by above mention reference because it is relevant about the subject matter, in addition, these are from the poem of The Lady of Shalott. Then the second thing is, it s about mythical LANDSCAPE among Tennyson s finest achievements that symbolize states of human consciousness; the dreamlike quality of his vision, combined with his ability to see at close range with preternatural clarity and detail, rendered his dreams more vivid than our realities. Ultimately it will get me to explore the THEMES of REALITY and FANTASY from his poetic diction. First, Tennyson starts out The Lady of Shalott with a quiet description... It is the belief that problems can be solved, differences resolved. It is a type of confidence. And it is fragile. It can be blackened by fear and superstition. This declaration fits flawlessly in with the narrator s mindset and thoughtprocess in the short story, The Pit and the Pendulum by Edgar Allen Poe. Poe s literature takes place towards the end of the Spanish Inquisition, and is about a man, the narrator of the story, that is sentenced to death by means not known to him. As the character goes through the first phase of this forlorn process his characteristics are revealed by the author. Poe expresses the narrator s determination to remain hopeful and his optimistic nature through the use of diction, figurative language, and syntax. In other words, Poe uses diction to illustrate the narrator s struggle to remain hopeful. In the beginning as the narrator was forced to sit before the judges as they came to a conclusion, he crestfallenly states, The sentence the dread sentence of death was the last distinct accentuation which reached my ears (Poe 264). Within this sentence the author chose words such as dread, death, and distinct, which shows the character s feelings towards this sentence of death: The character feels as if it is absolute, or distinct, and although he dreads it, he has to face it. The Functionalist Perspective In The MoviePleasantville In the movie Pleasantville two kids named David and Jennifer, living in the 1990 s get sucked into to a tv show called Pleasantville which takes place in the 1950 s where everything is perfect . Now living in a completely different era and being named Bud and Mary Sue, they must try to adjust to this new culture while attempting to find a way to get back to their present day. Through the whole movie they realize how much that the world has changed in 40 years. The town of Pleasantville is set in black and white, but as people start to change and feel more emotion they turn into color. While watching the movie it was interesting to watch the characters learn more about the past from different perspectives. One perspective that we watched for was the functionalist perspective. This comes from the functional theory which is, if parts of society are working well and everyone is doing what is expected then it is a normal state. However, if some are not meeting their expectations in society, then that is considered an abnormal state. In the movie s case it is referring to people in the community of Pleasantville and whether they are meeting expectations or not. One example of this is when a cat got stuck in a tree. A cat was stuck in a tree as Bud and Mary Sue watched the fire department come get it down. This is what was expected in this town so it is a normal state. Another example of this is the basketball team never misses a shot. In Pleasantville the basketball team is expected to make every shot so when Bud see s them at practice making every shot it is considered a normal state. Another example is during the same practice Bud is talking to one of the basketball players named Skip. They are talking about Mary Sue and how Skip wants to go out with her, but Bud doesn t think it is a good idea. After the conversation Skip misses a shot. Since this is considered an abnormal state for the team they all react by not touching that ball ever again and getting rid of it. This was the first sign in the movie of an abnormal state starting to occur. One more example is when Bud was running late for work at the diner and he walks in seeing his Mr. Johnson (co worker) just starting to clean the counter. Bud goes up to

During the Ming Dynasty, the wall was reconstructed, repaired and rebuilt, and new sections were also added. Many dynasties reigned over China during this almost 2000 year project, and the final major renovations were done during the Ming Dynasty (par.3). The time needed to complete the Great Wall is much longer than that used to build the pyramids. Furthermore, it was much more difficult to construct the Wall in terms of the environment and the manpower. Before building the Great Pyramid, the pharaoh Khufu selected the site prudently in order to choose the most suitable location, and there were five basic requirements for the location. First, the site should be constructed in the sunset region and higher than the Nile s flood plain to be safe; considering the convenience of transporting materials, the site should also be located on the bank of Nile close to Memphis which was the Egyptian capital. Finally, the site should be located on the solid bedrock and in a plain in order to build suitable levels of foundations of the construction (Jackson and Stamp 23). Khufu chose Giza as the site of construction, because it occupied a plateau overlooking the Nile River, and there were plenty of raw materials, such as limestone was accessible (Smith 108). According to Craig B. Smith, the exact nature of the workforce it took to build the pyramid is unknown.

Sleep latency degrades the performance (e.g., delay and energy consumption) of various kinds of data forwarding designs in low duty cycle networks. There are two features that make flooding in low duty cycle networks challenging. First, a packet is unlikely to be received by multiple nodes simultaneously as in always awake networks. To broadcast a packet, a sender has to transmit the same packet multiple times if its receivers do not wake up at the same time. Thus flooding in such networks is realized essentially by multiple unicasts. Second, unlike wired networks, wireless communication is notoriously unreliable [4]. A transmission is repeated if the previous transmissions are not successful due to wireless loss. The combination of low duty cycle operation and unreliable links necessitates the design of a different flooding mechanism than those found in wired networks and always awake wireless networks. These combined have a knock on effects on reliability and cost [4]. One straightforward solution could be building a routing tree for flooding. Yet this type of solutions have been shown [7] to be fragile, because the failure of a parent node prevents

I would recommend that a strategy is developed that targets the 25 to 35 year old age groups. This age group had a low amount of purchases during this time frame. For this age group, I would recommend a strategy that advertise on social media sites and possibly have a popular young star become a sponsor of the product. Another age group with low sales is the 65 to 77 year group. This group has the least amount of sales and depending on the product a combination of television and radio ads may persuade these buyers to purchase
  • 44. Exercising Free Speech In Public Schools If you are the only person who speak about a particular issue, nothing gets resolve. What you have to say will be ignored. That s because it s only when the masses speak out, that any issue can be resolved. So if you re amoung 101 protesters, and only 100 protesters are needed to get anybody to listen, does it really matter whether if you re there or not? Many students, professors, and young people are speaking out the MUN fee hikes. Since so many people are speaking out on the issue, does it really matter if I voice my opinion or not? The other reason why I wonder why we bother exercising free speech is because there will always be consequences for what you or I have to say. Many people are too afraid to talk about political and social issues

To generalize, traffic control system may setup secret cameras at first to see how many are following the norm irrespective of the presence and absence of police agent. Depending on the data collected a decision can be made whether to use a police agent or reduce the monitoring using a police agent. An Electronic Institution is said to be more successful if it can adopt itself to a changing environment and such an Electronic Institution is called Adaptive Electronic Institution and hence the ideal characteristic of an Adaptive Electronic Institution is it should initiate and control by itself. Some of the characteristics of an Adaptive Electronic Institution are it should be able to configure and reconfigure itself under varying conditions; it must be able to optimize its inner workings; monitor its components and adjust its processing to achieve its goals; it should able to identify the malfunctioning if any and should be able to repair itself. Why only an Adaptive Electronic Institution? We have already defined an Adaptive Electronic
