Along the northern end of Utah s Wasatch Front is a scenic region of land known as Weber
County. This county ranges from the peaks of the Wasatch Mountains into a portion of the Great
Salt Lake of the lower valley. The Weber and Ogden rivers and their tributaries run through its
valleys (Weber County, 2015). Weber County is the second smallest county in land mass and has
the fourth largest population in the state. County population in 2012 was 236,000 (94% urban, 6%
rural), comprised of the communities of Ogden, Farr West, Harrisville, Hooper, Huntsville, Marriot

of Mortality in this county are heart disease, cancer, stroke, accidents and chronic respiratory
disease. Due to Weber counties documented higher than Utah states rates of obesity, drinking and
smoking, which are leading contributors of heart disease, cancer and stroke deaths, Weber County s
life expectancy reflects the national average versus Utah s rate (Weber Morgan Health Annual

preventable diseases in Utah and Weber County with 180.7 per 1,000,000 which is higher than even
the state average (Weber County, Utah, 2015). There are many concerns in Weber County, but the
health concerns which are unfavorably affecting the quality of life in Weber County are obesity,
adolescent pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases and air quality. In 2009, 64.65% of adults in
Weber and Morgan counties were considered overweight or obese (Weber Morgan Health

FRANZ SCHUBERTMusic Appreciation Section 02 FRANZ SCHUBERT I HAVE COME

Schubert, who said to a friend I have come into the world for no other purpose but to compose .
For someone to be so certain, focused and dedicated at such a young age with extraordinary
talent and promise, finding out more about Schubert s life and astonishing music was a must for
me. Franz Peter Schubert was bone in Vienna, on January 31, 1797 to his father, Franz Theodor
Schubert and his mother, Elisabeth Vietz. Because Schubert father was a schoolmaster, he began
receiving lessons from his father at an early age, as early as age five. A year later Schubert was

In Schubert s Erlking, there is the narrator, father, son, and the Erlking, which is all song by one
person. Because the Erlking is done by one person, that one singer is to deliver each character in
its fitting tone. The frighten child is song in a high register in minor, while the father is sung in
a low register that distinguishes with the high pitched of the son cries, and the Erlking has
modest melodies in major keys. The Goethe s ballad tells a story of a father riding on a
horseback through a storm with his ailing child in his arms, as the child is being followed by the
Erlking which denotes death. At the very beginning of the Erlking, the piano begins with rapid
octaves. It is said that the triplet rhythm unifies the occurrence of the song and suggests that it
represent the horse s dash. The narrator then paints the perfect picture so that you are able to
perceive this wild late ride as the farther holds his unwell son so tight and closely to him. As the
Goethe ballad continues the son cries out to his father, my father in a forte tone to inform him of
the Erlking and his presents. The father, who uses a lower register tone, try to consol the boy and
keep him calm by suggesting that the Erlking is a streak of mist and the whispering promises
from the Erlking was only wind rustling in the dead leaves. After the son cried out for the last time
to his father even louder than before, My father, my father, now he is taking hold of me! The
Erlking has hurt me!

The Invention Of The Electron Microscope By Ernst Ruska...
In the scientific community, there have been many advancements in the technologies and processes
used to help us understand the truth of the world around us. The invention of the electron
microscope by Ernst Ruska and Max Knoll in 1933 is just an example of one of these
advancements. There is another advancement that has roots over one hundred and sixty million
years old, and that is the green fluorescent protein(GFP). The fluorescence from GFP molecules has
made it feasible to look through a microscope at a spatial resolution higher than the diffraction limit.
The green fluorescent proteinwas first found in the Aequorea Victoria, or the crystal jellyfish. It is
a bioluminescent hydrozoan jellyfish, or hydromedusa (1). In the crystal jellyfish, there are two
proteins that are responsible for its bioluminescent, aequorin and GFP. They are both located in
the photo organs of the jellyfish. The jellyfish releases calcium ions which the aequorin binds to.
The process of binding gives off a blue light, which is then absorbed by the GFP. The blue light
absorbed is then converted into the green light that GFP is named for (2). At the moment there is
no apparent reason for the bioluminescence displayed by the Aequorea Victoria since it has not
been observed being used as a defense mechanism or as a signalling mechanism. Osamu
Shimomura was the first person to isolate the GFP. He started to study the bioluminescence of
crystal jellyfish at Princeton University in 1960 and he and

Socio-Emotional Development
Physical, Cognitive, and Socio Emotional developments are ones that every growing individual
goes through. The EDC 307 course specifically focuses on these developments in middle childhood
and adolescence. This course has taught me an enormous amount about each of those stages. I
learned that in middle childhood, cognitive development entails changes in self concept, the child
relates their real self to an ideal self that they created. However, in adolescencethe cognitive
changes are centered around egocentrism and abstract thinking. As for physical development, in
middle childhood the changes are few, slow, and regular. Puberty is the most significant physical
change that happens during adolescence, ad it happens fast and suddenly . Socio emotional
development concerns social behaviors with peers and loved ones. During middle childhood,
kids normally judge themselves based on the opinions of their peers, parents, and teachers. I
found out that this differs in adolescence in that teenagers try to find their real identity regardless
of opinions. Although I mentioned a few things that I learned in this course, it is only a small
percentage of all that I have actually acquired. Moving on in my life, this information will be a
great beneficial factor not only in my career, but in my personal life as well. If I end up working
with kids, it will help me better understand them and, in turn, communicate... Show more content on

Sherpas In Into Thin Air
Sherpas are a crucial part of the expeditions that take place on Mount Everest. Sherpas grew up in
a high elevated town, so they help climbers with Everest s altitude because their body can handle it
better than regular climbers. Also, they carry supplies, so the climbers can focus on surviving
climbingEverest. There are people that think sherpas are just the poor people of our third world
country, but that is not true. They are people just like us, good, bad or right in the middle, like
most people.
Sherpas live in the Khumbu valley, which is the national park around Everest. Due to the fact of
the Sherpas living in high altitude regions for generations, they are used to it, and that is what

Three Famous Men Of Shakespeare Research Paper
Three Famous Men of Shakespeare s Time
Three important people during the time of Shakespeare were Galileo Galilei, Martin Luther, and
Francisco Vasquez de Coronado. These men all had great influence in their respective fields during
the sixteenth century. Galileo worked in several similar fields: astronomy, mathematics, and
inventing. Martin served as a pastor and major leader in the Reformation. Francisco served the
Spanish in Mexico and is often remembered for his conquests and explorations in America.
Although none of these men seemed to have known Shakespeare, they can give an accurate picture
of his world.
Galileo Galilei was born on February 15, 1564. Many people remember that he founded the idea of
Heliocentrism, the idea that everything

Renegades on Strategic Group Map Essay
A key component to finding a firms place in a market is closely associated with the strategic
group map created by McKinsey consultants in 1996 (CITE). Using the strategic group map a
company can identify competitors and positioning against rival venues. After analyzing within a
50 mile radius, 8 Movie theaters, two malls, ice cream shops and Splash Down Water Park were
found to be main competitors. Positioning on the map consisted of Duration of Expenses on the
vertical axis and expense, respectively low to high. Among other competitor The Hudson Valley

Reversely, buyer power is deemed to be low. Ticket prices are relatively cheap, as the Renegades
have exhausted many options leaving little room available alternative products. Barriers of entry
directly correlate with proximity and profit. As the Renegades have become an established minor
league team, it s in another s teams interest to locate where a Minor League team isn t situated. A
team situated in close proximity to Dutchess stadium would not obtain the same profit as it
would be directly competing against an already well established company. The new entrant
would fiscally be making a better decision if it were to locate a highly dense population area with
few barriers of entry unlike Dutchess County. There are three towns with substitutes that are main
competitors to the Renegades. Wappinger Falls, New York holds two locally owned parks and a
Fun Central, a game entertainment geared towards families. Poughkeepsie, New York holds the
Poughkeepsie Galleria Mall, a recreational Walkway over the Hudson, and Empire Cruise lines for
day trips. Fishkill hold SpalshDown Beach water park, and the Van Wyck Museum. In further
analyzing there are two sport substitutes the Renegades should be aware of. The Rockland Boulders

Homo Erectus And How Were They Like Us
Homo Erectus and How Were They Like Us

You are a young hotshot physical Anthropologist with the discovery of the century. We probably
know less about Homo erectus then we did 20 years ago. But your new site and find answer all the
questions. Tell me what Homo erectuswas like and what data proves your case. How were they like
humans and how were they different.
Introduction
Throughout history, humans have gone through evolution and adapted to new environmental
changes to survive. One would wonder how they manage to survive and dominate the Earth for
so long. A possible ancestor to humans known as Homo erectus (sometimes called Homo
ergaster) may have been the reason why humans have been so successful in survival today.
Homo erectus has been a live about 1.89 million years ago to 143,000 years ago. He was the first
hominid to leave Africa and was also known as Turkana Boy in Africa, Peking Man in China, and
Java Man in Indonesia. H. erectus gained his name for being able to stand upright or have an erect
posture. One can say that they are the pioneers of the Old World because they were the first
hominid to master the use of fire. Once evolution took place, they began developing larger skulls.
This allows their brain to grow larger, thus becoming even more intelligent. Because of this, H.
erectus became very successful in creating cultural technologies that allowed them to adapt to new
environmental opportunities. Through speculating this

Life Is My Life
Life for me sucks. I m the one person at school that does not get avoided. But I say that in a bad
way. I walk down the halls and people are shoving me, throwing my stuff to the ground, and
getting laughed at. I would say that I get the most attention at this school. But there is also life at
home. Every time I come home my dad is drunk lying on the sofa watching sports. Then he tells
me to clean up all of his crap that he leaves every where along with doing all the others chores
and homework. Yes, life for me sucks. Our school has four bullies Ryan, Max, Jase, and John.
They run that school. No one gets in their way because if so you re done for. I m not alone
though, in this sucky life. I share it with others too. I m not the only one who gets picked on. I
see others facing the same problems. Sometimes I feel bad for the person who has taken my
place. But majority of the time I am relieved that for once my life doesn t suck as much as it
could. Hey Kyle, Ryan smirked as he made his way towards me. Whats this? An apple? Ryan
questioned as he plucked the fruit from my hand, and in one smooth motion he took a bite and
hurled it across the room and barely missed the trash can on the other side of the room. Well I

The Purpose Of OSHA Safety Standards
What is the purpose of OSHA safety standards? Do you think that businesses would take
substantial safety precautions without the imposition of such standards? Does compliance with
OSHA safety standards increase the cost of doing business in the United States? Why, or why
not? Employers are responsible for providing a safe and healthy workplace for their employees.
OSHA s role is to ensure the safety and health of America s workers by setting and enforcing
standards. This can be attained through provision of training, outreach, education, establishing
partnerships and encouraging continuous improvement in workplace safety and health. It is
advisable that any business take substantial safety precautions without imposition of the standards
because at the end of the day both employers and workers want to go home safe and healthy in
order to be able to resume productivity during future tasks. American employers and workers want
safe and healthy work places. They want everyone on the job to go home whole and healthy each
day. In accordance with the determination to make that dream possible, OSHA is committed to
assuring so far as possible that every worker and woman in the nation works in safe and healthy
environments. OSHA believes that providing workers with a safe workplace is central to their
ability to enjoy health, security and the opportunity to achieve the American dream. OSHA seeks to
reduce unnecessary rules, regulations, and red tape. It is eliminating thousands

The Glass Castle Analysis
Glass Castle The Glass Castle, is a memoir, written by Jeannette Walls about her life and her
families uncommon way of living. From a young age Walls and her family were always moving
around and stirring up a little trouble wherever they went. The family faces many problems because
of the way they lived including keeping food on the table, an alcoholic father, and a stable living
situation. Even though the familyhad all these problems, all of the Walls children grew up to do
great things in the world. Although Walls tone changes as she grows older, Walls uses an
underlying ironic and humorous tone through the whole book with the use of diction, detail, and
dialogue.
Using vibrant word choice Walls displays an underlying ironic tone. After Walls burns herself at
a young age, she is forced to go to the hospital where a nurse gives her chewing gum for the first
time. When her mom found out about it she said It was a disgusting low class habit (12). At this
point in the story the readers do not know exactly how bad the family s financial situation is, but
they do know that the family is living in a trailer home. In addition, at the start of the book Walls
recalled a time when she watched her mom dig through a trash can,so her saying that chewing
gum is disgusting and a low class habit is ironic and hypocritical considering she digs through the
trash. Walls had a great amount of respect for her dad, and she also looked up to him. Everytime

It is formally known as the Metro Line. (Objective) The 3.3km division line was planned to run
from Churchill Square to NAIT linking MacEwan University, the Royal Alexandra Hospital, the
new arena and Kingsway Mall to the main LRT system. It was expected to add 13,200 weekday
riders to the city s LRT network. The objective of this project is to get the line open, subject to it
being safe, as described by city manager Simon Farbrother in an interview in Edmonton Journal.
The construction and designing of this extended Meto Line were predicted to cost (baseline cost)
of $755 million. This cost estimation includes the purchasing property and new LRVs. Sponsors of
the NAIT LRT project were the Government of Alberta, the Government of Canada and City of
Edmonton. The baseline schedule and milestones of this project are mentioned in the appendix of
this paper. Thales Computer Based Train Control system are responsible for operating the NAIT
LRT. While construction on the $665 million (expected cost was $755 million) project was
completed on schedule, there have been issues incorporating the new Communication Based Train
Control system with the current LRT signalling system. Mario Peloquin, Vice President, Thales
Rail Signalling Solutions Inc. says he appreciates everyone s patience as crews work to complete
the work. The current signalling system is one of the reasons for the delay of this project. The

The Importance Of Emotional Intelligence And Emotional...
The EiQ assessment was in itself a big challenge to me. I have been a rational person all my life. In
my opinion, Emotional Intelligence and Emotional Quotient is influenced by people surrounding
you. With this assumption, I would like to review this EiQ assessment.
According to the EI assessment some of my greatest emotional strengths are self awareness, high
value integrity, empathy, good impulse control, healthy coping skills and healthy level of self
esteem. I would say the result in exactly what I expected it to be. I have always put value integrity
as my top priority and logic has always overpowered my emptions when it comes to dealing with
situations involving value integrity. Even during my time as an engineer, the company values and
processes were guiding light to me and I have always resented circumventing those value even when
asked by senior management. However, areas such as self awareness and empathy needs some
improvements and I believe leadership experiences in my career going forward would allow me to
develop these skills further.
There is a big list for areas of EI improvements. To begin with, my emotional self awareness is
very limited and I am not comfortable with emotions in general. This didn t surprise me at all. As
stated before, I am a rational person. Ability to understand where to draw a line between being
emotional and being rational has limited my emotional self awareness. The report also says that the
ability I would resolve conflict

Charlie Gordon s Theme In Daniel Keyes Flowers For Algernon
One story I read lately that has a very strong theme in my opinion is Flowers for Algernon by
Daniel Keyes. In this story 37 year old Charlie Gordon is one of two patients to get a surgery to

and better man, Charlie realizes his friends who he thought were his best friends had been laughing
at him the entire time. He loses his friends for his intelligenceand his only company besides the
doctors for a while is Algernon. When Algernon stops cooperating and dies, Charlie is left
wondering what will happen to him. I think a good theme for this story is that knowledge isn t
everything.
In the beginning of the story, Charlie isn t very smart. I had a test today. I think I faled it. he
says, showing he doesn t believe in himself. He thinks that he failed his test because he couldn t
see what other people saw. He has another test later on, before they choose him. This test, Charlie
has to race the mouse Algernon, who already got the surgery, in a maze. ... that test made me feel

There is something alluring about traditions. No matter how far away from home one gets, they
will always cherish the manner in which things are done back at home. They retain even the
slightest things that will help them hold on to the past or the way of life that they have left
behind. They will cook or serve food in a certain way because it is their sentimental way of
remaining attached what they were familiar with. This is also the case with my choice of music. I

importance of sitting in a spacious isle side if you cannot see some members of the ensemble?
I made sure to arrive a little bit late so that I could just walk in and settle down after the arrival of
the performing bands without having to sit through the music department s opening speech. I
came in just in time for the commencement of the first piece. I sat and stared at the front at this
lady who was doing a solo performance. I could already tell that the night was only going to pick

The Rising Cost Of Healthcare
Introduction
There have been many studies performed focusing on the rising costs of health care and some of
the findings state that the rising cost of healthcare premiums is a worldwide problem. However,
I believe they are higher in the U.S. In 2015, U.S. health care costs were $3.2 trillion. That makes
healthcare one of the largest U.S. industries, equaling 17.8 % of the Gross Domestic Product
(GDP) in comparison to the late 1960s; where healthcare costs were only $27 billion, or 5% of the
GDP, which averaged $9,990 per person each year. The main reason for the rising costof healthcare
is a combination of government policies and lifestyles changes. Examples included lack of

It was something I needed so I could not refrain from purchasing it; had I met the deductible it
would have cost me only fifty dollars. Cancer is another example. In an article written by
oncologist Lacie Glover, her concern was about the rising cost of cancer treatment, newly
approved cancer drug costs of an average of $10,000 per month, and therapy costs averaging
$30,000 per month. A patient typically pays 20 30% out of pocket for drugs. Therefore, the year s
average cost of new cancer medications would $26,000 $36,000, in addition to their health insurance
premiums. If you wonder why insurance premiums are constantly on the rise, reflecting on the
illnesses and costs to treat them.
How could we create a decrease in insurance premiums? health care specialists and physicians
should share one set of tests annually sending patient to test blood work, procedures are costly
and each test is billing separately to the insurance company. To elaborate, if a patient did a
physical and blood work yearly other physicians should get access to it within that year if there
should be the need for blood work, I would think that they should be able to use that blood
similar an X ray scan. One of my main point to my statement is that I did a complete annual lab,
and less than a month I needed blood work for insurance purposes and I had to do everything all

Capitalist Society in The Death of a Salesman by Arthur Miller
Death of a salesman is a tragedy of a common man . Throughout the play the reader sees how
Willy Loman struggles to achieve something, which is beyond his capability. He has a dream, the
American dream of success and accomplishment. And yet, he is not able to ever thrive because
his idea of how to succeed is wrong. The times have changed, the play is set in the period of an
economic boom and increasing desire for material goods in America and the Loman family is now
living in a capitalist society, however, Willy seems not to have realised that things have changed. He
is constantly battling between the present and the past, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Howard therefore simply sees the relationship as diplomatic and business like and understands
that Willy is not able to pull his own weight anymore. Yet for Willy this is all about loyalty
gratitude and comradeship, because he was in the firm when Howard s father used to carry him
in his arms . Willy perceives his relationship with his boss as being far closer, than it really is. All
Howard has to say to Willy, however, is that business is business . This a good example of Willy s
misunderstanding of the co operative and benevolent nature of capitalism and his inadequacy to put
aside feelings and emotions, which should not interfere with the business. Loman has been unable
to learn that business ethics, the morality of his work community oppose the traditions he assumed
were still in action: the personal ethics of honour.
Willy also has his own, distinct perception of success. For him it is all about money and being
well liked . That is how he saw Dave Singleman and assumed this was a perfect ideal of success,
which he, himself, could achieve becoming a salesman. He imagines that pursuing the same career
in the same merchandise field, he will be just like Dave Singleman: Without ever leaving his
room, at the age of eighty four, make his living . His dream was to prove himself within the
capitalist system, which requires a person

Stereotypes Exposed On Skin Color
Stereotypes have existed since humans first began to roam the planet. Early Australopithecus, the
first humans, most likely used stereotypes when deciding their daily task. Stereotypes such as
everything are dangerous and want to kill them. Later as Homo sapiens created cities and
civilianization s stereotypes helped evaluate an incoming threat so they could close the city and
gather a defense to save not only themselves but everything they worked hard to create from those
who would kill them and take the city from them. But modern humans ability to perceive threats
have been clouded by stereotypes base on skin color; to a point where anyone who is different is
a threat who needs to be eliminated. A proactive human whose flight or fight response is to fight
will sometimes attack this perceived threat without any other information aside from the
stereotype. These attacks can sometimes lead to the arrest or death of the threat who, in most
cases, was an innocent in the wrong place at the wrong time. So while stereotypes where
essential to survival in early cultures, modern use of stereotypes have turned to the extremes
clouded by hatred of those who are different. In equatorial Africa a small species of human,
Australopithecus, roamed the savannah. In order to survive they small bipedal species most
likely based its day to day decisions such as what food to gather, and where to sleep, based on the
movement and location of larger predators such as lions. They used the

First True People To Discover America
The first true people to discover America were the many ancient nomads who crossed over the
Bearing land bridge connecting Siberia to Alaska some 20,000 years ago. They crossed and

Fast forward to about 500 years ago when the Spanish, the French, and the British first discovered
the new land and sent parties to explore it. But when they did they found many Native American
tribes. Some were treated fairly and made peace with, while others were slaughtered, sold into
slavery, and some even completely wiped out. In 1606, a joint stock company, known as the

I Am Turlin Possum, Or The Killer
I am Turlin Possum, and I am considered a villain in my town. In reality, I am misunderstood.
No one understands me. This is my side of the story. I have the head of a marlin fish, body of a
turtle, and legs of an opossum. I am rather large, bigger than humans, and I have a long pointy
nose and a blue and white face, just like a marlin. Whenever I go places, my long, pointy, nose
always is running into people. My nickname is the stabber or the killer. I don t do it on purpose, I
promise. Turning my head trips people over, walking or running hurts people too. Sometimes, I
feel it would be better for the town if I move away, but my mom doesn t think so. Since I have

I reached in my pocket for my pen so I could sketch some flowers. I pulled out a few dollars bills,

The man in front of me in the line was staring at me. He looked at me like I was a vicious beast. I

one threw a punch, they knocked me with their elbow. I couldn t keep my balance. I went diving

brothers. It was completely silent. I could hear my breathing. I heard one of the employees

Marco Polo s Influence On The World
I have not told half of what I saw were the final words of the great Venetian explorer Marco Polo;
however, in recent times, Marco Polo s exploits have been doubted more and more. (Pedriali, 161)
Most often cited as evidence that Marco Polo s travels may not have been as truthful as reported is
the 1998 book Did Marco Pologo to china? by Dr. Frances Wood. Through new research done by
Dr. Hans Ulrich Vogel of University of TГ
јbingen in Germany, it has been shown that Marco Polo
was mostly truthful in his memoirs, but it has also proven that some things were exaggerated
thanks to his ghostwriter Rustichello da Pisa, Marco Polo himself, or later copyists.
Marco Polo was a 13th century Venetian merchant explorer who is said to have traveled with his
father and uncle to the Far East lands of China, Mongolia, India, and others. During this time the
Mongols, known as the Golden Horde, were in control of much of Asia. Although this power
was beginning to dissolve by the time the Polos set off on this journey, it was seen clearly that
the Mongols still held power in the region. The Mongol leader, Khubilai Kahn, was a glistening
example of this power (Jackson, 1998). Polo is said to have served under him as an envoy for a
time before his return to Venice. While in Venice, after being captured by the Genoese during a
small conflict between the Genoese and the Venetians, Polo and his Ghostwriter, Rustichello da
Pisa, wrote his memoirs, The Travels of Marco Polo. This manuscript is a

Specificity
Specificity: There are general or global demands that all human beings need to have general
strength and power, good posture, core stability, mobility, and stability at all of the major joints.
These components are all requirements for a healthy and functional body, especially in an
athletic environment. All human beings squat as every single day activity. Picking up a box?
Getting up or sitting down? Starting your lawn mower? That is a single arm row, using both
back and core muscles to generate rotational power. Carrying groceries in from the car? That is a
farmer s walk, which places a huge demand on the core and upper back (Wilmore Costill 2005).
The concept of Specificity simply states that training bouts must go from highly general training
sessions to highly specific training sessions. The concept of Specificity also implies that athlete
become better at a particular and specific exercise or skill, athlete must perform that highly specific
exercise or skill (verywell).
The training sessions must be specific not only to athlete s sport/skills but to athlete s individual
abilities (recoverability, tolerance to training stress, outside obligations, etc) (fitstar).
Specificity also means that to become better at a particular ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

What I Learned From The Video Essay
Video Summary
What I learned from the video is the following.
Have access to my money
Know where important information is kept.
Have an emergency bag with important items in.
I have not thought about having access to my own money as such of a important step after a
disaster like Katrina. When banks are everywhere I never thought having access to my money is
such of important step to getting back on my feet. Most of the times when I visit my bank all I
need to have access to my account is my social security number.
Most of my important information like birth certificate, social security, immunization records, tax
documents and health insurance is kept in a brief case under my parents bed. This includes both
my parents and siblings. I think it would be better to turn this information into digital version and
save them into a thumb drive or even upload them to a safe cloud database in order to have access
to this information anywhere there is internet access. From watching the video, having access to
information like this is important to stablish my identity in order to get help like social security
benefits and FEMA benefits when a natural disaster strikes.
Also from the video I realized that having an emergency bag ready to go incase of an emergency is
important. This bag should include a change of clothes, family members contact information a type
of identification and money in cash.

The Birth Of Preterm Births Essay
Regardless of healthcare and medical advances, birth outcome disparities continue to exist in the
United States. In 2014, 1 out of 10 infant births were premature, correlating to over 380,000
infants born prematurely (Health 2016). The current national average for infant births before 37
weeks is 9.6% (Services 2010). Premature birth is identified as a birth that occurs before the 37
week gestation. During the preterm period, infants are placed at a high risk of death and
developing disabilities that may cause permanent handicap. Mothers that give birth preterm may
partake in risky behaviors such as smoking and drug usage, lack proper nutrition, and are burdened
financially. Maternal education intervention programs centered around the Health Belief Model
may have a positive impact on maternal care and prevent premature birth. Background Despite
countless medical advancements and technology, preterm births continue to plague the nation as a
public health issue. Preterm births have become a devastating issue that has caused government
agencies to intervene. There are a variety of risk factors that may contribute to a mother
delivering a child preterm, such as smoking, lack of prenatal supplements, and social
disadvantages, which may cause severe stress (Räisänen S., M. Gissler , J. Saari, M. Kramer,
S. Heinonen S 2013). Any combination of these risk factors may increase a mother s chance for
delivering a child preterm. During the preterm period, infants are placed at a

Essay about The Importance of Merchants in Medieval Times
During the Medieval Times, merchants were just as important and wealthy as the lords and nobles.
The way they would go about their wealth was getting an education to learn how to think, count,
information about the world, interest rates, exchange rates, and many more information that
relates to dealing with money and trade. Education has always been important to create
opportunities to have successful jobs and it was interesting to read that in Medieval Times
education was considered more of a hobby, but to be a merchant it became less of a hobby and
more of an opportunity to be well educated people and gave them a chance to be successful
business men. Merchants were big contributors to their countries economy. They would buy raw...

My Experience With An Explosive Worker

the opportunity to earn some experience with it while in the military; it also offers a chance for
travel and more job opportunities; and it can be a very fun and rewarding career. Where else can
you blow stuff up and call it a job? I have always enjoyed playing with fireworks as a child and

extremely thorough, responsible and dependable. Using the GCIS, I was able to narrow down

My family has a tradition where for every generation, we go out to Florida every summer.
Genealogy is the history of your family and the genes you inherit from your ancestors weither

family would cease to exist in this world we live in. If you are looking for someone to show you
how to become a genealogist, I can help you out. To begin with, a genealogist should always
find a process to use along the way. You should talk with your family members and get as much
information as you can out of them. For example, I talked to my family and found out that my

information you just gathered. I used a tree with four boxes with a line coming out of each

Case Study Of Brown V Board Of Education Case
One theory of originalism that can explain the decision of the Brown v. Board of Education case is
abstract internationalism. Abstract internationalism is a version of originalism that says that in
order to understand the meaning of the document, you have to understand their intentions as being
abstract. Dworkin states that abstract concepts exist to be just that, abstract, and therefore they

abstract concepts is that there is no way to predict how relevant a concept may become as time
progresses, therefore leaving matters to be interpreted on a case by case basis is appropriate. In

Moonglow s joint venture alleviates this limited knowledge. Our host nation partner is already
accustomed to doing business in their country and already has the knowledge of the regulatory
laws. Along with regulatory laws there are legal restrictions that prohibit certain resources to
foreign businesses. Joint ventures make it easy to bypass these restrictions and allow us access to
raw materials we may not normally have (Hall, 1984).
Along with the benefits of knowledge and resources, local governments favor collaborating with
businesses in their country. Many foreign governments offer special incentives to outside countries
if they enter into joint ventures. They see this as a way to bring employment, new technology and
skills to their local people (Hall, 1984). This is a win win for everyone.
Just as there are pros to joint ventures, there are also cons. The cons to entering into a joint venture
are flexibility, technology transferred, employees, and loyalty to the U.S. partners (Hall, 1984).

The Limit Point Of Capitalist Equality
In the pursuit of equality many different attempts have been made to obtain this quality including
protests and laws or legal acts. However, no matter how many legal regulations are instituted, or
protests are held, true equality has never been accessed, and will never be accessed until there are
significant changes made to the ideology and mindset of the citizens of this country. Both Chris
Chen and Christine Delphy who advocate for raceand genderequality respectively, are two authors
who believe that these radical changes must be made to create equality in society. They each
give similar yet different ways to alter the mindset of modern society. In her essay Rethinking
Sex and Gender, Delphy states that in order to truly gain equality among the sexes, we have to
eliminate the idea of gender altogether. On the other hand, in his essay The Limit Point of
Capitalist Equality, Chen argues that to eliminate racial inequality we need to change our
mindset and stop defining race as physical or cultural qualities that distinguish us, or thinking of
it as a noun, and start thinking of race as the institutional roadblocks put in front of people of
color, or as a verb. Both of these alterations can seem very drastic at face value, and would in fact
be undesirable to many. However, once some of the ideas of Chen and Delphy are superimposed
upon one another, they illuminate how each one can be applied to, and work in society. Also once
these ideas are used consecutively, they

The Subscription Business Model Is A Marketing Model
The subscription business model is a business model where a customer must pay a subscription
price to have access to the product/service. The model was pioneered by magazines and
newspapers, but is now used by many businesses and websites. we ve got to provide an on going,
novel yet practical service that adds value to customers lives by encouraging/changing habits.
You need to relate to your customers lifestyle and that can only be done successfully if you have
a common interest and passion. we are often overwhelmed with the amount of choice when
looking to make a purchase of some kind. Subscription boxes solve this problem. The items in
the box are usually specially curated to suit your customers lifestyle, needs or preferences. They
save time and stress by not having to conduct research or even think. All they want to do is trust
someone to make decisions for them based on some of their requirements and continue receiving
these products on a regular basis. Subscription box businesses are like personal shoppers. They are
convenient and fun too. Market Summary: The Subscription market has seen rapid growth over the
last few years. New companies are building successful businesses selling all manner of products
and subscriptions. There is no single market encompassing all subscription commerce, because a lot
of products are targeted to different demographics. With the vast range of products that can
potentially be delivered by subscription, there is no obvious limit to

The African struggle over time has been a topic discussed by many scholars. In Walter Rodney s,

In Chapter three Rodney focuses on the colonial period in which Africa helped develop the capitalist
progression in Europe. Colonialism was not merely a system of exploitation but one whose
essential purpose was to repatriate the profit to the so called mother land, states Rodney. Chapter
four gives an historical background of Africa in 1885 and emphasizes on the value that came from
the enslavement of Africans. This time period holds a major significance to the underdevelopment
of Africa because of the Berlin conference. Africa was then divided up due to the scramble in
which Europeans fought over power. The fifth chapter argues that colonialism was the main factor
in underveloping Africa as a whole. Rodney argues that colonialism only did one thing, and that
was steal Africa s resources and strip them of their land. Europeans took so much from the Africans
and made sure to give nothing back which explains the type of relationship they had. In chapter six,
Rodney argues against past scholars who believed that colonialism had valuable outcomes in the
end. The author shows how the economic and political state Africa was left robbed due to
colonialism, he then provides strategies to fight against the underdevelopment. It is clear that that
Rodney is pushing his audience to understand that Europe should be held

The frighten child is song in a high register in minor, while the father is sung in a low register that distinguishes with the high pitched of the son cries, and the Erlking has modest melodies in major keys. The Goethe s ballad tells a story of a father riding on a horseback through a storm with his ailing child in his arms, as the child is being followed by the Erlking which denotes death. At the very beginning of the Erlking, the piano begins with rapid octaves. It is said that the triplet rhythm unifies the occurrence of the song and suggests that it represent the horse s dash. The narrator then paints the perfect picture so that you are able to perceive this wild late ride as the farther holds his unwell son so tight and closely to him. • 4. The Invention Of The Electron Microscope By Ernst Ruska... In the scientific community, there have been many advancements in the technologies and processes used to help us understand the truth of the world around us. The invention of the electron microscope by Ernst Ruska and Max Knoll in 1933 is just an example of one of these advancements. There is another advancement that has roots over one hundred and sixty million years old, and that is the green fluorescent protein(GFP). The fluorescence from GFP molecules has made it feasible to look through a microscope at a spatial resolution higher than the diffraction limit. The green fluorescent proteinwas first found in the Aequorea Victoria, or the crystal jellyfish. It is a bioluminescent hydrozoan jellyfish, or hydromedusa (1). In the crystal jellyfish, there are two proteins that are responsible for its bioluminescent, aequorin and GFP. They are both located in the photo organs of the jellyfish. The jellyfish releases calcium ions which the aequorin binds to. The process of binding gives off a blue light, which is then absorbed by the GFP. The blue light absorbed is then converted into the green light that GFP is named for (2). At the moment there is no apparent reason for the bioluminescence displayed by the Aequorea Victoria since it has not been observed being used as a defense mechanism or as a signalling mechanism. Osamu Shimomura was the first person to isolate the GFP. He started to study the bioluminescence of crystal jellyfish at Princeton University in 1960 and he and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The EDC 307 course specifically focuses on these developments in middle childhood and adolescence. This course has taught me an enormous amount about each of those stages. I learned that in middle childhood, cognitive development entails changes in self concept, the child relates their real self to an ideal self that they created. However, in adolescencethe cognitive changes are centered around egocentrism and abstract thinking. As for physical development, in middle childhood the changes are few, slow, and regular. Puberty is the most significant physical change that happens during adolescence, ad it happens fast and suddenly . Socio emotional development concerns social behaviors with peers and loved ones. During middle childhood, kids normally judge themselves based on the opinions of their peers, parents, and teachers. I found out that this differs in adolescence in that teenagers try to find their real identity regardless of opinions. Although I mentioned a few things that I learned in this course, it is only a small percentage of all that I have actually acquired. Later as Homo sapiens created cities and civilianization s stereotypes helped evaluate an incoming threat so they could close the city and gather a defense to save not only themselves but everything they worked hard to create from those who would kill them and take the city from them. But modern humans ability to perceive threats have been clouded by stereotypes base on skin color; to a point where anyone who is different is a threat who needs to be eliminated. A proactive human whose flight or fight response is to fight will sometimes attack this perceived threat without any other information aside from the stereotype. These attacks can sometimes lead to the arrest or death of the threat who, in most cases, was an innocent in the wrong place at the wrong time. So while stereotypes where essential to survival in early cultures, modern use of stereotypes have turned to the extremes clouded by hatred of those who are different. In equatorial Africa a small species of human, Australopithecus, roamed the savannah. In order to survive they small bipedal species most likely based its day to day decisions such as what food to gather, and where to sleep, based on the movement and location of larger predators such as lions. • 25. Marco Polo s Influence On The World I have not told half of what I saw were the final words of the great Venetian explorer Marco Polo; however, in recent times, Marco Polo s exploits have been doubted more and more. (Pedriali, 161) Most often cited as evidence that Marco Polo s travels may not have been as truthful as reported is the 1998 book Did Marco Pologo to china? by Dr. Frances Wood. Through new research done by Dr. Hans Ulrich Vogel of University of TГ јbingen in Germany, it has been shown that Marco Polo was mostly truthful in his memoirs, but it has also proven that some things were exaggerated thanks to his ghostwriter Rustichello da Pisa, Marco Polo himself, or later copyists. Marco Polo was a 13th century Venetian merchant explorer who is said to have traveled with his father and uncle to the Far East lands of China, Mongolia, India, and others. During this time the Mongols, known as the Golden Horde, were in control of much of Asia. Although this power was beginning to dissolve by the time the Polos set off on this journey, it was seen clearly that the Mongols still held power in the region. The Mongol leader, Khubilai Kahn, was a glistening example of this power (Jackson, 1998). Polo is said to have served under him as an envoy for a time before his return to Venice. While in Venice, after being captured by the Genoese during a small conflict between the Genoese and the Venetians, Polo and his Ghostwriter, Rustichello da Pisa, wrote his memoirs, The Travels of Marco Polo. • 26. Specificity Specificity: There are general or global demands that all human beings need to have general strength and power, good posture, core stability, mobility, and stability at all of the major joints. These components are all requirements for a healthy and functional body, especially in an athletic environment. All human beings squat as every single day activity. Picking up a box? Getting up or sitting down? Starting your lawn mower? That is a single arm row, using both back and core muscles to generate rotational power. Carrying groceries in from the car? That is a farmer s walk, which places a huge demand on the core and upper back (Wilmore Costill 2005). The concept of Specificity simply states that training bouts must go from highly general training sessions to highly specific training sessions. The concept of Specificity also implies that athlete become better at a particular and specific exercise or skill, athlete must perform that highly specific exercise or skill (verywell). In 2014, 1 out of 10 infant births were premature, correlating to over 380,000 infants born prematurely (Health 2016). The current national average for infant births before 37 weeks is 9.6% (Services 2010). Premature birth is identified as a birth that occurs before the 37 week gestation. During the preterm period, infants are placed at a high risk of death and developing disabilities that may cause permanent handicap. Both Chris Chen and Christine Delphy who advocate for raceand genderequality respectively, are two authors who believe that these radical changes must be made to create equality in society. They each give similar yet different ways to alter the mindset of modern society. In her essay Rethinking Sex and Gender, Delphy states that in order to truly gain equality among the sexes, we have to eliminate the idea of gender altogether. On the other hand, in his essay The Limit Point of Capitalist Equality, Chen argues that to eliminate racial inequality we need to change our mindset and stop defining race as physical or cultural qualities that distinguish us, or thinking of it as a noun, and start thinking of race as the institutional roadblocks put in front of people of color, or as a verb. Both of these alterations can seem very drastic at face value, and would in fact be undesirable to many.
