1. Essay On Microorganisms
Crafting an essay on the subject of microorganisms presents a unique set of challenges that
demand a delicate balance between scientific accuracy and engaging prose. At its core, delving
into the microscopic world requires a comprehensive understanding of various branches of
biology, including microbiology, genetics, and ecology. Navigating through complex scientific
jargon while ensuring clarity for a broader audience is undoubtedly a daunting task.
One of the inherent difficulties lies in the vastness of the topic itself. Microorganisms encompass
an immense array of life forms, from bacteria and viruses to fungi and protozoa. The sheer
diversity and intricacies of these tiny entities demand meticulous research and a nuanced
approach to present a holistic view. Striking a balance between depth and accessibility is a
tightrope walk that writers must carefully navigate.
Additionally, the dynamic nature of the field adds another layer of complexity. New discoveries
and advancements constantly reshape our understanding of microorganisms. Staying current with
the latest research findings and incorporating them into the essay requires both dedication and
agility. It is not merely about regurgitating established facts but weaving them seamlessly into a
coherent narrative that captivates and educates the reader.
Furthermore, the challenge extends beyond the scientific realm. Effective communication of the
importance of microorganisms in various facets of life—ranging from environmental balance to
human health—is crucial. Finding the right tone to engage readers with diverse backgrounds
and interests adds an additional layer of complexity.
In conclusion, crafting an essay on microorganisms demands a blend of scientific expertise,
communication finesse, and a commitment to staying abreast of the latest research. It's a task that
necessitates not only a deep understanding of the subject matter but also the ability to translate
complex concepts into an accessible and engaging piece. For those seeking assistance with such

3. The Gospels Of Matthew, Mark And Luke
Jesus longest prophecy about the time of the end is found in the synoptic Gospels
of Matthew, Mark and Luke, with each giving their own accounts of the day that
they were with Him on the Mount of Olives. It is commonly referred to as The
Olivet Prophecy, and it is an overview of the circumstantial events that will lead to
Jesusreturn. This prophecy was given during the week before His crucifixion, and
it is pivotal to understanding the future events that will affect the entire world. The
prophecy begins when Jesus and His disciples, having left the Temple, were sitting
on the Mount of Olives. They were enjoying a spectacular view and unexpectedly,
Jesus threw the disciples a curve when He announced that the beautiful Temple
they were admiring was going to be destroyed. Being curious and very concerned,
Peter, James, John, and Andrew asked Him to tell them when this prophecy of
such end time doom was going to take place. Jesus is so smart; He knew that they
would want to know more. The apostle Mark s account of the Olivet Prophecy
which is found in Mark 13 says that Jesus revealed to them the conditions that would
be present on the Earth that would lead up to His return. He said it would be a time
of increasing trouble and turmoil. He warned them that at a future time on Earth;
man would have the capability to destroy all of human life. Matthew, however, gives
a more descriptive account of what Jesus said that day, For then there will be great
tribulation, such as has not
4. Machaut Motet Analysis
Did you know that Guillaume de Machaut was both a French poet and Musician?
While not commonly known, his poetry is known for its puns, vivid imagery and
encryptions. In the realm of music, Machaut influenced the forms fixes of the virelai,
rondeau, ballade and inspired poets and composers of this time to write for this
genre. Machaut is also known for the first polyphonic setting of the Mass Ordinary as
a coherent cycle. (Evans 2013) A major catalyst of the time, Machaut s Messe de
Nostre Dame features fourteenth century polyphonic music, which influenced later
composers of the time. Guillaume de Machaut(~1300 1377) was born in Northern
France. He was a leading composer of the French Ars Nova movement, and also
expanded upon the concept of motets. He also made the first solo polyphonic cycle
of the Mass Ordinary (Evans 2013) Machaut is primarily known for his work of
Messe de Nostre Dame, the first polyphonic setting of the Mass Ordinary as a
coherent cycle. In Messe de Nostre Dame, Machaut is attributed to a single, named
composer for his composition of a single cycle mass, whereas other fourteenth
century cycles are anonymous, or are thought to have been assembled from the
repertoires of several composers, or both. Machaut presented this mass as a canon of
Reims Cathedral primarily as a votive mass in honour of the Virgin Mary. All of the
movements are based on a plainchant version of the appropriate element of the
Ordinary. An example
6. Frankenstein Byronic Hero Quotes
The Byronic hero as presented in Lord Byron s Manfred, is a protagonist who has
traits, including: a troubled background, high self esteem, isolation from society, an
exaggerated sense of independence, and genuine guilt. All of these traits Manfred
bears, and Victor shares in a differing form. The differences between Manfred and
Victor begin with their feelings of guiltand continue through the amount of control
they give up over themselves. The guilt of Victor is false when compared with that
of Manfred, and Victor relinquishes some of his autonomy to the monster in
Frankenstein, in contrast to Manfred s steadfast hold of complete self government.
These changes, seen in Victor s personality, lead to a critique of the Byronic hero in...

Equally important is the high esteem Manfred and Victor have regarding
themselves. This can be seen throughout Frankenstein in Victor s narration of his
life before the monster (cite), and the pity he often expresses for himself Quote .
Manfred s self regard is seen in the dialogues the he shares with the Chamois
hunter, QUOTE and the way he relates himself to other humans, Though I wore the
form,/ I had no sympathy with breathing flesh (Manfred, Act 2, Line 56 57).
Thirdly, a burdening ordeal, which is self inflicted, cause great suffering to the
Byronic hero. Victor often states he struggles more than a human possibly could.
None ever conceived of the misery that I then endured (Frankenstein, 1818, Page
110). Manfred shares these feelings, stating, no human could carry the burden that
he does (cite). This leads into the immense guilt a Byronic hero feels, though the
guilt must be genuine as is seen in Manfred. The concluding trait is the self
governing power a Byronic hero wishes to maintain over themselves, an example as,
seen in Manfred is when Manfred is confronting the demons of his death (cite), while
extreme, this helps translate the believability of the esteem a Byronic hero holds of
themselves to an audience. Throughout Manfred, Manfred refuses to give away any
power he retains over himself. Even at times when relinquishing some of this power
would aid him in alleviating his suffering,

The impacts of abuse are devastating. As a result of abuse, half a million youth run

One reason why Christians should have a heart for destitute children is because
the proper view of human life Christians possess. Recently there was a man in
Wisconsin who was sentenced to twelve years in prison for killing his cats. Two
days later a woman in Delaware was sentenced to thirty months, two and a half
years of prison, for killing her newborn child. The woman threw her child,
umbilical cord still attached, out the window of a third floor motel room into a
garbage bin below (MacArthur 4). Maybe one of the reasons why there are so
many families falling apart and so many children in foster care is because people
do not possess a proper view of human life. If society views the life of a child
equivalent to the life of an animal, then it is no wonder why there are hundreds of
thousands of children in the foster care system. The sanctity of human life should be
fought for and protected, especially by
8. Naval Special Warfare Teamwork
Introduction
Optimal operating organizations are those who embrace teamwork to accomplish
shared goals. Although some organizations are effective, there is always room to
improve their efficiency. One main adaptive challenge is to change the cultural
relationship between Navy Sea Air and Land Operators (SEALs) and the support staff
that work within the Naval Special Warfare organization. The personal beliefs and
attitudes of individuals within the community are that the SEALs are held to a
separate standard and get special treatment when it comes to deviating from those
standards. There are some adaptive changes that can be implemented to enhance the
overall culture, especially the teamwork within the Naval Special Warfare
organization. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Failure to change the current issues will result in keeping the elephants in the room
and continued friction by not sharing responsibility for the organization, which
directly contribute to the two identified adaptive challenges. Heifetz et al. (2009)
suggest that every immediate encountered problem is an opportunity to not only fix
them, but to institutionalize new norms. Therefore the top leadership needs to
acknowledge the challenges and take action by creating urgency. Kotter and Cohen
(2002) states that without enough urgency, large scale change can become an
exercise in pushing a gigantic boulder up a very tall mountain (p. 15). Indeed, change
cannot happen without identifying the issues or creating
9. Jaguar Commercial Analysis

Media/Commercial Analysis
Marketing is defined as the activities of a company associated with buying and
selling a product or service, which includes advertising, selling and delivering
products to people. People who work in marketing departments of companies try to
get the attention of target audiences by using slogans, packaging design, celebrity
endorsements and general media exposure. One of the most mainstream tactics to
market a product to a potential target market is by using TV commercials. The
elements of TV commercials, including audio and visual aspects, as well as lighting,

German car companies, the narrator is implying that Mercedes Benz, Audi, and BMW
are aware that Jaguar is on the rise and, based on the visual aspects of the ad, they
are afraid of Jaguar. The background music in the ad gives a sense of a suspenseful
and dramtic ad. The music starts off slow and calm, but deep and dark, sort of
mysterious.
When the XFR meets the Benz, BMW, and Audi, the music starts to take a turn for a
more dramatic yet still suspenseful, the music builds more anticipation until the
climax when the XFR roars and scares the other cars away. Speaking of the roar , the
engine
roars to give the Jaguar an extremely aggresive presence, more aggresive than the
other 3 cars. This is to make the XFR seem more exclusive and special than its
more traditional rivals. Jaguar has a lot of work to do if they want to take over the
reigns from the likes of Mercedes, Audi, and BMW, but the advertising campaign
shows that they are ready to take on that
10. The Ideas About Human Communication
Chalita Brown

COMM330: Elements of Persuasion
How are the ideas about human communication related to the definition of
persuasion? Persuasion can be very complex to define and/or understand. Essentially
by writing this paper, I am attempting to persuade my professor that I understand
persuasion and how it relates to human communication. People use persuasion every
day whether they realize it or not. It can be negative and attempt to manipulate or
deceive. It can also be positive and come in the form of professional persuaders like
clergy or motivational speakers. In this essay, I will attempt to persuade my readers of
the direct and undeniable connection between human communication and persuasion.
Let s first explore the topic of human communication. There are three essential parts
that make up the human communication model, the sender, the message and the
receiver. All three elements are affected by the surroundings where the
communication is taking place. Outside elements or noise can affect the way the
sender communicates and how the receiver interprets the message. To understand this
process let s explore the ecological model of communication. It asserts that
communication occurs in the intersection of four fundamental constructs:
communication between people (creators and consumers) is mediated by messages
which are created using language within media; consumed from media and
interpreted using language. (Foulger, 2004) The sender delivers the

The Public Enemy by William Wellman (1931) is a renowned gangster film that
paved the way for an emerging genre whilst maximizing the use of sound
technology of which the effects were still reverberating around Hollywood in the

mise en scene but also to assault audience with a new experience. The emergence of
an all talking gangster filmthat capitalized upon and left a lasting impression on the
audience and on society as it commented on social and economic issues that
surrounded the American people such as race and social status. However, at the
time when The Public Enemy was released in 1931, Hollywood was beginning to
feel the effects of the Wall Street Crash, which meant that they began producing
films that their audience wanted to see and that we re affordable which lead to the
rise of the gangster genre, which flourished for the next few years. Ruth Vasey s
assessment of The Public Enemy is incredibly insightful into how sound impacted
the film and its audience but also how sound was used in correlation with the other
elements of the film to create its visceral impact on the audience. However with the
introduction of sound, more obstacles we re discovered such as the issue of
censorship as it had a perceived capacity to undermine middle class vales .
The introduction of sound in the 1920 s had a colossal impact on the Hollywood
Studio System and left aftershocks throughout society for

Aristocrats are wealthy and prominent members of society. Her father, Augustus, was
a businessman, civic leader, and horticulturalist. Lowell s mother, Katherine, was an

15. Driving And Drinking And Driving
There are already laws in effect that are not being utilized as well as they could be.
Sobriety checkpoints are effective, but only when they are used. There are also
interlock systems that can be installed in a vehicle when a person has been drinking
and driving. However, not every person that is caught drinking and drivingis required
to have this system installed in their vehicle. There is also an idea that if you are
involved in an accident the policeman on the scene can ask to see your phone and
if there is proof that you were on your phone at the time of the accident you will be
at fault. Ralph Hingson, director of the Division of Epidemiology and Prevention
Research at the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse states, Meanwhile, some
valuable tools are not being used. Sobriety checkpoints and effective in reducing
drinking and driving if they are publicized, so they can serve as a deterrent, says
Hingson (Kinnerly par 19).
If the legal driving age was raised, seatbelt laws were made the priority, speed limits
were lowered, safety features were mandatory in all vehicles, and laws were
enforced there would be fewer accidents. If these ideas were put into action,
imagine what the fatality rates would look like if the leading causes of fatal
accidents were fixed or changed. We could fix what self driving cars claim they will
fix without the self driving car its self, making the need for these cars unnecessary.
It has been proven that self driving cars will have
16. Why Do Dog Sneezing
Dog Sneezing
By Tim Delaney
Jan 4, 2013
Are you concerned about your dogs constant sneezing? If your dog is sneezing, it s
not always a reason for concern. Dog sneezing is often a natural reaction to
particles, pollen, or some other irritant in the dog s nasal membranes. Sneezing is
not always due to allergies or sickness; however, if your dog is suffering from an
illness like kennel cough (Bordetella) or some other bronchial infection, then you
should consider putting your pet on all natural pet health supplements, which can help
support healthy respiratory function in your dog. One product that has proven to be
an excellent solution to dog sneezing, is called Ox E Drops.
There are two types of dog sneezing activities. There is the normal involuntary
reaction to foreign bodies in the dog s membrane that cause the dog just like
humans to sneeze as a natural reaction to remove the irritant; there is also a natural
voluntary habit called Reverse Sneezing. This is a normal activity that dogs will
use voluntarily to remove a discomfort from their nasal passage or throat. This is
akin to the habit of gagging. Pet owners often see their dog gag as if they are about
to vomit this is not always the case gagging is a normal function (in most cases it s a
voluntary activity) to remove discomfort or irritants from the throat. ... Show more

17. The Is A Philosophical Theme Taught By Epicurus
Epicureanism is a philosophical theme taught by Epicurus, this theme that stresses the
goal of a joyful and a pleasurable life. In the Hellenistic Age, epicureanism was
extremely influential. Epicurus, the founder of Epicureanism, is best known for his
different personality, unlike all the other ancient philosophers, excluding Socrates (O
Keefe). Epicurus accumulated a group of disciples and taught them, after that he
became known as the philosophy of the Garden. The wisdom theory, epicureanism, is
a form of the hedonismtheory that describes different types of pleasure, different
types of desires, the virtues, the importance of friendship, and death. Epicureanism
is a philosophical theory that is a form of hedonism. Epicurus once said, That the
only thing that is intrinsically valuable is one s own pleasure; anything else that has
value is valuable merely as a means to securing pleasure for oneself (O Keefe). This
quote from Epicurus shows that pleasure is important to the value of happinessin life.
But how is Epicureanism a type of hedonism? The answer is that, Epicureanism is a
form of hedonism because they both believe that pleasure is what leads to happiness.
Since they both believe that pleasure leads to happiness, the way to know the
difference between the two is that hedonists believe that the people must find a way
to increase their own pleasures, whatever they might include and Epicureanism is the
belief that people must control their own pleasures based

kindness but are manipulative in their actions. Gloriavale is a religious community

This group fits the definition of a cult perfectly, they were a small select group of
people with beliefs that were to the rest of the world, outlandish and strange. They
also became dangerous after the leader, Marshall Applewhite, told them that
suicide was the only way to ascend to the spaceship awaiting them to take them to
heaven. Not all cults are small groups for example the People s Temple more
famously known as Jonestown, had just over 900 members. It was a religious
group based in California which moved to Guyana in the late 1970s to establish a
communalistic utopia. This group became very dangerous as it caused the deaths
of 918 people. Nine people died attempting to escape Jonestown including U.S.
senator Rep. Leo Ryan, the remaining 909 died in Jonestown of either poisoning or
were shot. I personally was very shocked at how many people died and why it wasn
t investigated properly, the government had information that things were not as it
seemed. Instead of investigating they sent senator Ryan, I believe that this was a
huge mistake and perhaps if the matter was taken more seriously so many lives
wouldn t have been lost. It does also make me question whether this kind of neglect
towards potentially dangerous cults is still occurring.
There many methods that cults use to indoctrinate new members and to keep them

I believe that educators should try to reform the culture because knowledge is
never complete but an ongoing search. If one does not seek to change then they
might be stuck with an old idea that is no longer relevant. At one point it was
believed that the earth was the center of the universe or the earth was flat. It was
also once believed that women did not have the brain power to own properties or
vote but we learn differently. My teachers in primary schooldid not know that children

While I was looking over the curriculum, I wanted to pick a standard that would target
all of our students Individualized EducationProgram (IEP) math goals in some way.
There were only three standards that would be benefiting all of my students at this
time. I showed my observations to my mentor teacher and she told me to do a
counting standard because this is something they work on all year long for each
student to reach their goals. The decision that I made was to focus on teaching
students the concept of counting to twenty (20). My student friendly objective will

Apilington Parkersburg football team in Iowa. Ed Thomas was shot and killed while
training his athletes by Mark Becker. Lee Jenkins begins by using very detail
accounts to bring out the pathos of the town, bringing the audienceto feel emotionally
connected to the town of Parkersburg. In the beginning of this article Jenkins
explains the importance of the field to Ed Thomas. Every morning Ed walked the
field, looking for any imperfection to correct. Dave Meyer, the Apilington
Parkersburg principal said, It s probably the best field in the state. The field was so
import to Ed Thomas and he took such great care of it that it was even named after
him. The field has standard issue metal bleachers, no box office, no fancy
scoreboard. What makes it special, what makes it sacred, is the love that Thomas
poured into the turf. Ed Thomas did anything he could help the town out. On some

23. The Stonewall Rebellion Or Stonewall Riots
The Stonewall Rebellion or Stonewall Riots was a series of violent riots that took
place between gay and trans activists, drag queens, and other patrons of The
Stonewall Inn against the police after a raid had been carried out by the Sixth
Precinct police. The days and rebellions that followed are monumental moments in
LGBT and World history.
For New York s gay and trans communities the 1960 s marks a turning point in their
history; Sodomy had been reduced to a misdemeanour, with a maximum sentence of
six months in prison, the anti gay accommodation rules of the New York State Liquor
Authority had been overturned, allowing homosexuals to congregate and be served
alcoholic beverages in bars, The American Psychiatric Association reclassified...

Nevertheless, it became a nightly home to homeless youth and runaways, drag
queens, people of colour, and other minorities who were often not accepted in gay
spaces. Among its patrons was African American, Trans, Gay, and AIDS activist, sex
worker, and drag queen Martha P. Johnson. Who would famously claim that the P.
stood for Pay it No Mind .
The Stonewall Inn had been registered as a private Bottle Bar which meant patrons
were expected to bring their own liquor. The Genovese Family would often bribe
the Sixth Precinct to turn a blind eye to the activities occurring in inn. However, in
the early hours of June 28th 1969 and readied with a warrant for storing and selling
liquor without a licence; the police prepared to raid The Stonewall Inn.
The raid began just after 3a.m, and the police found the illegal liquor and began
arresting employees while the crowd booed but remained otherwise calm. Howard
Smith, a village voice reporter who stayed with the police throughout the riot
reported During the gay power riots at the Stonewall last Friday night I found

A judge was attacked by a known felon a week after he was released from prison.
The judge was beaten and held captive in his home for two days due to his decision
to incarcerate the gentleman fifteen years prior. During this time of being held
captive, the judge repeatedly begged for him to let him go and apologized over
and over again for his decision. Finally, after two days passed, the felon decides to
leave the judge tied up in his home. The judge s daughter had begun to worry about
her father, so she called the local policeto check on him. Once the police arrived,
they found the judge tied up and bleeding from an open wound on his head. The
officers began to ask questions as to what happened and if he knew who had done
this to him.
25. Mcraven Trying To Change The World Analysis
It s a daunting task, trying to change the world; almost deemed as impossible.
More often than not, most think that making a difference involves a number of
unmeasurable feats, such as climbing a mountain, or single handedly saving a
small village of the coast of some island from a massive tsunami. But it doesn t
have to be that complicated. Back in May of 2014, Admiral William H McRaven
presented his commencement speech to the graduating class at the University of
Texas. He expressed multiple ideas that all revolved around one similar standpoint
how can you change the world? After graduating from U of T back in 1977,
McRaven spent the next six months afterwards at Basic SEAL training in Coronado,
California. He described it as a lifetime of challenges crammed into six months.
Throughout his time there, he had to endure many herculean like tasks that would
have made any sane person walk away from the challenge without hesitation. He

26. Green Energy is a Substitute Energy Source
Introduction
Green (or alternative) energy is a substitute energy source for fossil fuels. Alternative
energy is interchangeable with Renewable energy since the sources that are generated
are natural and cannot be exhausted, all of which have minimal environmental
impact. Alternative energy sources include solar power, which is acquired from the
sun; wind power; water energy, which produces hydroelectricity; and biomass energy,
which comes from plants. Due to these sources being free and causing no harm to the
environment, they are increasingly being used around the world. The energy sector
has been growing, as governments are adapting environmental policies to reduce
pollution and welcoming alternative energy sources.
Alternative energy has many economic, environmental and social benefits.
Economically, alternative energy satisfies the continuous and ever growing demand
and cost of energy. As the world populates and new discoveries are made on a daily
basis, energy sources are not only being exhausted, they are also harming the
environment, and thus people. Due to the high demand for energy and not so high
supply, prices are rising day by day. Alternative energies are the solution to this
problem, as their cost ranges from nothing to low. Environmentally, switching from
fuels to alternative energy saves our world from impacts such as pollution, global
warming and deforestation. Socially, our growing dependence on petroleum from
around the world can be risky, as supply

order to complete the project. Even though all of Mattie s neighboring families had

Citizens believed that private utility companies charged too much for electricity
and could abuse their power. This sentiment combined with the severe need for
economic growth in the Tennessee valley during the great depression lead to an
idea that had been manifested ten years earlier in a town famous for things other
than hydroelectric power, Muscle Shoals. Henry Ford proposed that a federal dam
should be built in Muscle Shoals to provide electricity and fertilizer for the region
and President Coolidge insisted Muscle Shoals should be used as part of the
development of the Tennessee Valley because of hydroelectric power and nitrate
fertilizer production. Coolidge, however, did not support government intervention
to build dams on the region s river systems. Conflict simmered as some proposed
the dam should be used for power, and some believed it should be used for
fertilizer. The debate continued into Herbert Hoover s presidency who greeted the
controversy with ambivalence, believing leasing the facilities at Muscle Shoals, or
to use revenue from the dam to fund fertilizer research were more appropriate
responses. However, with Franklin Roosevelt s ascension to power in 1933 the
concept behind Muscle Shoals would be at the center of the new TVA legislation.
Roosevelt believed wartime facilities like Muscle Shoals, should be used to benefit
the country. He fulfilled the promises he made as a candidate and in 1933 the TVA
came to be when Congress passed the TVA act. David E Lilienthal, a member and
future chairman of the Board of Directors at the Authority, describes the TVA s
purpose as to maintain and operate the properties now owned by the United States in
the vicinity of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, in the interest of the nation defense and for
agricultural and industrial development and to improve the navigation of the

On Thursday, February 27th, 1902, John Steinbeck in Salinas, California, and was
born following his two older sisters, Esther and Beth, to the parents of former
educator Olive Hamilton and Sperry Flour Mill supervisor, John Ernst Steinbeck.
Steinbeck s childhood was similar to any others, as his adolescent years were
carefree and relaxed. By the age of four, in the vast land of Salinas, Steinbeck was
given a pony, later becoming the inspiration of his famous, well acclaimed novel,
The Red Pony. Later on his ninth birthday, his aunt, Molly, gifted him a copy of Le

voracious reader. Steinbeck loved words, and reading old fashioned words like the

By 1933, the novel, To a God Unknown was successfully published. During the 1930
s, the Great Depression occurred leaving millions of Americans jobless, and
Steinbeck wrote three books, In Dubious Battle, Of Mice and Men, and The
Grapes of Wrath, all about California s labor issues, which he brought to life,
especially in The Grapes of Wrath. In The Grapes of Wrath, he used his journalistic
side to show behind the scenes of migrant labor camps. The Grapes of Wrath
became one of Steinbeck s most controversial novels and well known as he
persistently ignored publicity as he fell ill and his marriage began falling apart.
Furthermore, the suspicions of The Grapes of Wrath led to questioning of
communist teachings, and eventually made Steinbeck stick to writing about the
media for war effort. With old friend, Ed Ricketts, in 1940, they sailed to the gulf
of California influencing Sea of Cortez; even though, Henning accompanied
Steinback, their marriage was already too late to fix and divorced in 1943. On
May 11th, 1948, Steinbeck s long time friend, Ed Ricketts, was hit by a train, and
devastatingly lost his life, which sadly was an addition to the divorce of his
second wife, Gwyn, sending him into a depressed state until 1948. East of Eden

and grieving with the aftermath of the divorce with Gwyn. Finally, in 1964,
Steinbeck was awarded Presidential Medal of Freedom, and by 1966, he began
writing his last book about the American race. Sadly, his health began to stop
cooperating, and he passed away on December 20th, 1968. Steinbeck was a loved,

During this research project, while interviewing people and reading articles people

online dating is a successful way of meeting people. However, there is people who

Online datinghas given people a wider potential to find a partner, rather than

Earth provides enough to satisfy every man s needs, but not every man s greed.
Mahatma Gandhi Since the start of the Industrial Revolution the United States of
America has been dependent on burning fossil fuels for energy. In 2015 nearly sixty
seven percent of energy generated in the United States was from fossil fuels including
coal, natural gas, and petroleum. The United Stateshad been aware of a large
abundance of natural gas in shalerock formations thousands of feet below the
surface; however, when they first found these rocks around 1940 there was no
technology or tools advanced enough to drill into these rocks, until the 1970s and
1980s. Companies worked endlessly finding a way to allow shale rocks to release
the gas that they held. Companies eventually came up with a practice called
hydraulic fracturing, also known as fracking; this process utilizes water pressure to
fracture or break a rock in order to release and collect fuel such as gas or oil. In
recent years, companies have mixed sand, chemicals and other proponents to retrieve
the maximum amount of gas that each drilling site has to offer. A heated debate has
begun concerning these mixtures and the money involved in fracking. While one side
asserts that fracking should be banned because of potential environmental damage
produced by the fracking mixtures, others claim that fracking should continue
because of potential gains it could provide for the economy in the United States.

would affect the customer service. I will begin with writing about factors that would
affect customer service:
a) Seeing as how Alton Towers is an amusement park, factors that could effect could
affect customer service can range from factors such as are there many places for
visitors to purchase food for when they are hungry, are they enough lavatories around
the park, and, most importantly, are the rides in the park easily accessible. Other
things such as how queues are managed and navigation around the park may also
affect customer service.

The challenges that they would face would be:
Keep it updated
Keep the website looking attractive and change it regularly to keep the customers

Do new promotions to attract customers

Keep peoples personal details secured
Answer peoples requires
f) What Alton Towers do to maintain its customer standards is quite varied. Like the
types of customers I mentioned above, they do try and cater to the needs that I
listed. They have electronic signs around the park which informs people of the
predicted amount of time you would be in the queue for a ride, which is very good for
people who do not want to wait a long time for a ride. They have maps all around
the park, with the You Are Here marker to allow for easy navigation, and the maps
are plentiful. They are plenty of activities which appeal to young children and thrill
seekers, ranging from staged shows and small rides for younger children to large
roller coasters and in park pubs for older customers. They have plenty of lavatories
in the amusement park, with bathrooms for disabled customers and changing areas
for parents with young children. They are many places for people to eat at in Alton

Abstract
Strategy execution is a topic of practical importance and its success depends on how
an organization integrates and aligns the business units and the employee
performance to the strategic goals of the organization. However, many organizations
find that their strategic goals realization is not optimized.
One of the key issues is that the strategy and the performance goals of an organization
are often disconnected with the performance management platform, a function of the
strategic HR in managing employee performance.

Apple is one organization that has in recent times represented this fact. Its leader s
enormous influence in the organization has built a culture of excellence within the

and are enjoyed by the masses (Peterson, 2007). The foundation was in its human
element that was spurred by a major cultural shift (Palmer et al., 2009).
Improving human performance in organizations has become a crucial factor, and
leaders have to focus on this to successfully steer through the current hyper
competitive era. However, the pursuit of improvement of human performance hinges
on the performance management capability of an organization, which Mithas,

The defined benefit plans and defined contribution plans pay a pension to retired
worker, usually until his death or the death of the surviving spouse. The difference
between the plans is the amount of the pension that is calculated according to the
performance of the pension fund. It is not set in advance according to Defined

when retired based solely on their pension fund. Unlike Defined Contribution plans,
defined benefit plans are funded by contributions paid by the employer and the
employee, which accumulate in a pension fund and are invested to yield. Yields

PART ONE:
John Milton is the greatest poet of all time. Oddly enough, he wanted to be as
great as Homer or Virgil and be remembered like they were. Milton had this thing
called Photographic Memory, so he remembered everything he had ever read. He
even spends six straight years just reading every book he could get his hands on.
However, he ended up becoming blind because when he did read the only lighting
he had was candle light so he literally read his eyes out. Yet, this was before he
could do something great, so he rounded up his daughters and he had him write
down an epic poem he had written in his head. This poem his daughters penciled
down for him is known as Paradise Lost, a poem about the story of Adam and Eve

heard the news of a new planet that God had created, Earth that has been inhabited
with humans. Satan immediately wants to check this place out, so he flies off to
Eden. All of these events are a part of Theodicy starting with how God had
banished Satan and his followers because they had rebelled against him making this
action of his justifiable. This draws to the conclusion that if people do bad deeds,
there will be consequences. However this still doesn t answer the question on why
good people are sometimes punished with disease and illnesses. Another key part of
theodicy from Paradise Lost is explained in the events that happen in the Garden of

38. Destiny And Destiny Short Story
This ancient story of the conversation of Vasishtha and Brahma, O Yudhishthira, is
an illustration in point. In olden times the adorable Vasishtha enquired of Brahma as
to which among these two, viz., the Karma of a creature acquired in this life, or that
acquired in previous lives (and called Destiny), is the more potent in shaping his life.
Then, O king, the great godBrahma, who had sprung from the primeval lotus,
answered him in these exquisite and well reasoned words, full of meaning.
Brahma said, Nothing comes into existence without seed. Without seed, fruits do
not grow. From seeds spring other seeds. Hence are fruits known to be generated
from seeds. Good or bad as the seed is that the husbandman soweth in his field,
good or bad are the fruits that he reaps. As, unsown with seed, the soil, though
tilled, becomes fruitless, so, without individual Exertion, Destiny is of no avail.
One s own acts are like the soil, and Destiny (or the sum of one s acts in previous
births) is compared to the seed. From the union of the soil and the seed doth the
harvest grow. It is observed every day in the world that the doer reaps the fruit of his
good and evil deeds; that happiness results from good deeds, and pain from evil
ones; that acts, when done, always fructify; and that, if not done, no fruit arises. A
man of (good) acts acquires merits with good fortune, while an idler falls away from
his estate, and reaps evil like the infusion of alkaline matter injected into a wound. By
devoted application, one acquires beauty, fortune, and riches of various kinds.

the Nagas, and the Rakshasas, as also the Sun and the Moon and the Winds, have

Magners is the brand owned by Irish drinks company C C Group and in 2003 they
began to look at the possibility of launching their brand in the UK with an eye on
London in particular. Industry specialists had warned the company that cider was
a declining market which had little or no potential, as cider was viewed as a
summer only drink or something that first time drinkers, students and alcoholics
drank. Magners had other ideas they wanted to create a new premium brand
vintage cider that placed a premium on the idea of time and heritage as well as its
unique selling point, which was its service (a pint of Magners from the bottle was
to be poured over ice). This was used to establish a point of differentiation in the
UK cider market. It offered the consumer added value from both a premium
drinking experience as well as a prolonged enjoyment of the beverage. Creative

experiences. The reason for that it is because the olfactory part of the brain which
processes smells are go through the part of the brain that is connected to the
amygdala and the hippocampus where memory and emotions are processed. In the
book, Walk Two Moons, by Sharon Creech, the main character, Sal, is eating
blackberry pies. The blackberry pies triggers Sal s memory of picking blackberries
with her mother, which sparks... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I like the spicy soup, but more specifically, the spicy smell of the hot pot that will
stick to my clothes and the room for days. The strong spicy smell was permeating
the room as it took me back to the summer when I was in China eating the same hot
pot with my father. That night the table was filled with shrimp, lamb, beef, fishy
meatballs, potatoes and cabbage. I was sitting across from my father waiting for
the spicy soup to boil. This was my last meal in China. The next morning, I would
be heading to Los Angles and without seeing my dad for four years. The soup was
warm and comforting, but the air around me felt cold and depressing. Finally, the
soup started to boil. My dad began to place all the meats into the soup. The air was
getting colder, even though the soup was still boiling. I felt wet drops of water on
my cheeks. I put my head down. Are you ok? , my dad asked. Yea, yea, don t
worry, its just the soup is too spicy. I answered. Suddenly, I was at home in Irvine
looking across the table at my brother playing on the IPad. My father was no where
to be seen and the apartment was quiet. Currently, the smell of the hot pot has
become symbolic of my connection to my father. Recently, my friend and I drove
an hour in horrible traffic to LA in search of the same hot pot that I had eaten in
China. It was almost as good as the one I had eaten in
42. Rhetorical Analysis Of Martin Luther King Jr s Letter...
Possibly the three most important components a writer must understand are audience,
genre, and rhetorical situation. When reading critically we become acquainted with
these concepts therefore become better writers ourselves. While learning about
rhetorical writing and composition we have analyzed Billy Collins Commencement
Address at Choate Rosemary Hall , Martin Luther King Jr s letter from Birmingham
Jailand Lloyd Bitzer s essay on Rhetorical Situation . In this paper I will analyze and
make connections between the concepts of audience, genre and rhetorical situation in
connection to the fore mentioned readings. In doing so I will focus on how each used
these concepts as means to communicate their main ideas and purpose.... Show more

King uses strong rhetoric efforts and appeals to his primary audience with tone,
knowledge, and religion. Dr. King s tone in this letter varies but it was all done with
a specific purpose to move his audience.
He starts the letter with a very calm and reflective tone. He states Since I feel that
you are men of genuine good will and that your criticism are sincerely set forth, I
want to answer your statement in what I hope will be patient and reasonable terms.
By addressing them in a calm manner he is easing them into his argument with
respect making them more likely to engage. His tone shifts from calm to passionate
and reflective. He states that we know through painful experiences that freedom is
never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed. His
tone is meant to demonstrate the struggle African Americans face. Through his
passionate stand he is urging the audience to understand the main reason behind his
efforts, hopefully moving them to action. He is also standing up for them as a leader
working insufferably for change. Doctor King s tone is incredibly passionate and
outraged when he states I wish you had commended the negro sit inners and
demonstrators of Birmingham for their sublime courage, their willingness to suffer,
and their amazing discipline in the midst of great provocation .
I specially enjoy when he used a direct tone to point to his primary audience what they
missed in their initial statement. Doctor King
43. The European Union Essay
he European Union consists of many institutions and through these parts, it functions
itself. While it has a highly federalized government like framework (EU Parliament),
simultaneously, it also has loose intergovernmental institutions (Council of European
Union and the European Council). It is a complex hybrid organization, falling
somewhere between the intergovernmental cooperative United Nations, and the
federal government of United States of America. The chief constituting bodies are
namely,
1.European Commission
2.European Parliament
3.European Council
4.Council of Ministers/ Council of EU/ EU Council ( The Council )
5.European Court of Justice
Besides these, there are nine other functioning institutions within the EU.
1.European Commission : Considered as the Guardian of the European Union , the
commission represents the interests of EU, is responsible for the day to day
operations of the EU, initiates legislations, draws budget, is accountable for the
goals set by the treaties and it can also begin conversations. With the help of the
ECJ, the Commission can also take warn and take proper steps against respective
states who have disobeyed the regulations, decisions or directives set by the EU. It
is said to be EU s politically independent executive arm . The members are 28 in
number, each from each member country, being headed by the President. The
President is first selected by the European Council, and then he has to pass the by
majority vote in the

45. The Benefits Of Compression Stress
Throughout this article, the authors studied the concept of wearing compression
tights on the thigh during prolonged running that was attenuated with the exercise
induced increase in muscle damaged markers in the blood. The authors Sahiro
Mizuno, Mari Arai, Fumihiko Todoko, Eri Yamada and Kazushige Goto used this
article to address and acknowledge earlier publications that have been conducted on
this topic. The article gave way to the discussion whose purpose was to examine the
effects of wearing a lower body compression garment with different body coverage
areas during prolonged running or exercise performance involving muscledamage.
The discussion in recent publications had implied that applied pressure played a role

The broad approach to figuring out if compression garments reduced the increase in
muscle damage markers in blood due to prolonged exercise was tested using various
methods. Some of the methods that were used involved grading muscle soreness and
fatigue based on a 10 cm visual analog scale, with 0 cm indicating no pain or fatigue,
and 10 cm indicating the worst pain and fatigue. A thigh and calf circumference was
conducted by tape measurements for the pre marked sites that was distinguished
before the exercise started. Then a maximal voluntary contraction (MVC) of knee
extension and plantar flexion was assessed using an isokinetic dynamometer, and
finally, blood samples were taken by using the antecubital vein to determine different
components of blood with serum and plasma samples obtained by a centrifugation. As
discussed in the article, all of these tests, combined with other components, were used
to help each author in the article shed light on the idea that compression tights can
cause a difference during prolonged running (120 minutes or more) in dealing with
the decrease or reduction in muscle damage markers in the blood. The researchers in
this study used different means of measurement to gather information on different
aspects of the study. One thing the researchers did was use three different locations
for the
46. Theme Of Virtue By George Herbert
There are a select few things in this world that can bring a grown man to tears and
open up a hard heart to experience a variety of emotion. Poetry is one of these rare
beauties. Poetry has comforted soldiers on the battlefield and babies in the night.
Through vivid imagery and a range of themes and stories, poets have a unique gift to
truly create art through words on paper. One poem that highlights this, being full of
beautiful imagery, complex mood changes, and valuable themes to remember in life
is Virtue by George Herbert. This poem has stunningly descriptive imagery
throughout each stanza. In the first line, Herbert highlights aspects of daytime, with
descriptors such as cool , calm , and bright . These words highlight the personality...

In the beginning of each stanza, the poem starts with a description of something
beautiful and full of life. The mood in the first two lines of each stanza is full of
life and joy. Conflictingly, the last two lines of each stanza have a mood of sadness
at the loss of the beauty that had previously been described. The final mood of the
poem is addressed in the last stanza when Herbert writes of the virtuous soul that
lives when the rest of the world turns to nothing. This is a picture of hope, which is
the lasting mood of the
47. Analysis Of Radha Krishna s Lovers Under A Futon By...
Romantic love remains one of the most importance themes in virtually all cultures
art; in Japanese and Indian art, although with different historical contexts and
therefore interpretations, continues to be no exception. Kitigawa Utamaro prevailed
as one of the most important artists under the ukiyo e genres, focusing on the beauty
of women in the hedonistic and rigidly organized Tokugawa period as it enjoyed
stability the island yearned for. Of an unknown artist of the Rajasthani school in
neighboring Madhya Pradesh, foreign powers from the Mughal Empire to the
Portuguese slowly encroached in India, yet managed to maintain its traditions in
Radha Krishnain its epic romance in Jayadeva s Gita Govinda. In Utamaro s Lovers

The print portrays a man and a woman under a futon, assumedly intimately. The soft
colors of pink and green of their clothes and of the mattress on them further affirm
the softness of the piece; they are lovers. Although the man s attire contrasts with
that of the woman, it is difficult to discern where their bodies apart. Just like how
the futon is both green and pink like the man and woman s robes respectively, the
piece is supposed to indicate a romantic union between the two. The patterns on the
futon and robe help add dimension to the print, which would later be reprinted for
the consumption of the merchant class in the Tokugawa period. It is particularly
important to note how Utamaro portrays the woman; women by Utamaro not only
had an idealized form with slender features, but she barely resembles the common
woman of the period with her impossible proportions. In direct contrast with the
realism movement and their aspiration in portraying people the way they truly are,
Utamaro s depiction of women and romance are dreamily hedonistic just like many
Vogue editorials. Lovers under a Futon is truly romantic, with a sense of equality
between the two people; she is not there to serve him or vice versa. Instead, the
couple is both enjoying
