1. Genetically Modified Food Essay Thesis
Writing an essay on the topic of genetically modified food can be both challenging and
fascinating. The complexity arises from the need to balance scientific information, ethical
considerations, and the broader implications of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) on the
environment, economy, and public health.
To begin with, researching the latest developments in genetic engineering and biotechnology is
essential. This requires delving into scientific journals, articles, and reliable sources to understand
the intricacies of genetic modification and its applications in agriculture. The scientific aspect can
be daunting for those without a strong background in biology or related fields.
Next comes the ethical dimension. Genetically modified foods have sparked debates regarding
their safety, potential long-term effects, and the moral implications of altering the DNA of
organisms. Addressing these concerns requires a nuanced understanding of bioethics and the
ability to present arguments from various perspectives.
Moreover, it's crucial to consider the socioeconomic impact of genetically modified crops.
Analyzing how they influence farmers, global food markets, and the accessibility of food
resources adds another layer of complexity to the essay. This requires extensive research on
economic trends, trade policies, and the role of multinational corporations in the agriculture
sector.
Crafting a compelling thesis statement that captures the essence of the essay and guides the
reader through the multifaceted aspects of the topic is another challenge. The thesis should not
only reflect the writer's stance but also set the stage for a comprehensive exploration of the
subject matter.
In conclusion, writing an essay on genetically modified foods demands a multifaceted approach
that combines scientific knowledge, ethical considerations, and an understanding of
socioeconomic implications. It requires the ability to synthesize diverse information and present a
well-structured argument. However, with dedication and thorough research, one can navigate
these challenges and produce an informative and thought-provoking essay.

Should humans attempt to establish a permanent colony on Mars? There have
many theories and scientific discoveries proven that there is life on Mars. On
August of 2012 a rover was landed on Mars and today it s been nearly three years
since the rover has landed for scientific discoveries. The Mars Science Laboratory
and its rover centerpiece, Curiosity has been one of the most ambitious missions by
NASA. When NASA launched this mission, they wanted to see if there was some
life on this red barren planet. If facts are proven then human should make an attempt
to establish a permanent colony, if life actually existed.
When Curiosity was launched it went through of tough time to enter the atmosphere,
and even hard time landing. NASA watched the landing through television and
when they found out that it landed okay and it was safe from danger, the mission
could begin. August 2012 was a time where all these theories were put to a test, to
see if any of it was true or is true. Mars Curiosity: Facts and Information , by

Can anybody find me, somebody, to love? Freddy passionately sings in every
performance with the band Queen. In a hectic world, it is easy to put finding love
on the backburner of life. Money, social gatherings, educational pursuits and career
ambitions are all important in life, but can sometimes be the reason for leaving
love in the dust. Getting married young can be a great way to establish yourself to
live a happy, enjoyable, successful life with someone you love. There are many
critical decisions at this stage in life that will impact a newlywed s future together.
Preparing for a weddingis quite the burden to be taken on for young couples who
may be at university; or perhaps, already started their career, but if they know it is
what they want to do there is no question if the stress and pressure are worth it. One
of the most stressful decisions for young newlywed couples is where to spend their
honeymoon, rest assured the answer is here: all young newlyweds should go on a
cruisefor their honeymoon.
A major reason for young newlyweds to go on a cruise for their honeymoon is
because of the relaxation and rejuvenation they will receive. The revitalization is
needed, for planning for a wedding can stress a couple out for months, in addition
to the everyday stresses of life. Many critics may attest that going on a cruise can be
the opposite of relaxing because of the hundreds of other passengers. A great benefit
of going on a cruise with many other people is that we can

On a daily basis we often see horrible, evil events unfolding on our evening news
channels. Often we ask ourselves, how can a person be so heartless and cruel? We
do not understand why people could do these things. From beheadings, neglecting
children, killing innocent people, raping young girls, terrorizing innocent people,
how can people commit these horrible things? What do they use as justification?
Why is so hard for us to understand? Can they be forgiving? Is it a psychological

a person past or experiences play a role? Is there such a thing as evil? If so, is there a

The broad concepts focus on all the bad state of affairs, wrong doings, wrongful
actions or character flaws. The broad sense of evil is further divided into two
categories: natural evil and moral evil. Natural evils are defined as bad state of
affairs which do not result from the intentions of negligence of moral agents (The
Concept of Evil). For instance: earthquakes and stomachaches are examples of
natural evils. Moral evils are defined as actions result from the intentions or
negligence of moral agents. Killing people and raping young girls are example of
moral evils. Evil in general can be seen using theological contexts such as the
problem of evil. The problem of evil is the problem of accounting for evil in a
world created by an all powerful, all knowing, all good God (The Concept of Evil).
This often raises the question of is there really an all powerful God, if so why are
there evils in the world? According to Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, there
are six main types of evil character or evil personhood. 1.The first character known
as the frequent evildoer and dispositional accounts defines the concept of evil
action is the root concept of evil, while the concept of evil character is a derivative
concept. 2.The second one is known as the affected base accounts. According to the
affected based accounts, evil people have certain sorts of feelings and emotions.

Ancient Egypt was a civilization of ancient Northeastern Africa, concentrated along
the lower reaches of the Nile River in what is now the modern country of Egypt. It
is one of six civilizations to arise independently. Egyptian civilization followed
prehistoric Egypt and coalesced around 3150 BC with the political unification of
Upper and Lower Egypt under the first pharaoh
Narmer. The history of ancient Egypt occurred in a series of stable kingdoms,
separated by periods of relative instability known as Intermediate Periods: the Old
Kingdom of the Early Bronze Age, theMiddle Kingdom of theMiddle Bronze Age
and the New Kingdom of the Late Bronze Age.

The majority of Egyptians were peasants who farmed small plots of land, they were
tied to their land, and were required to provide services to the ruling class, such as
working on the construction of temples and public works.
Archaeological research shows that the average Egyptian peasant lived fairly
well, with an adequate diet consisting mainly of bread and beer, with some
vegetables such as onions, garlic, and fruits. The average Egyptian would only eat
meat on holidays, while the wealthier would eat meat more frequently. The home
of an Egyptian peasant was invariably built of mud bricks, and was well designed
to stay cool inside despite the hot days. The stoves did not have chimneys and
instead the smoke veneted directly through an opening in the roof. The inside of the
house was simply decorated but did not lack comfort: the floors were usually
covered with reed mats. The ancient Egyptians gave great importance to hygiene
and appearance. They bathed frequently in the Nile and used soap pastes based on
animal fat and chalk. The men shaved their heads and their entire bodies and used
perfumes and aromatic ointments to cover bad odors. It was normal for men, as well
as wealthier women.
The Egyptians wore clothes made from sheets of white

My initial inspiration for this piece was Trifles, which funnily enough only shares
the characteristic of detectives being involved within the plot. As per suggestion
on my proposal, I developed my idea of detectives solving a case further by
including dialogue and inter personnel relationships similar to those found in
Glengarry Glen Ross. Taking the idea of different members of the real estate office
discussing work and plotting in Glengarry Glen Ross, and applying them to a trio
of detectives on a case was interesting to say the least. Upon first thinking of what I
wanted to get across, I knew that some form of conspiracy was going to be present.

wrote with the intention of making him an arrogant jerk, or someone that you
would hate to work with. James countered his personality to some extent, or would
have if the victim had not been his friend. I made this a point so that James would
be off his game, so to speak. This would justify in Chris s mind why he would need
to act on the chief s wishes and kill James. In regards to the ending, I chose to end
the play on an ill fitting monologue of sorts. It was jarring enough to not fit the way
the rest of the dialogue was given during the bulk of the play, for I wanted to get
across that Chris was far worse of a person than just being arrogant. James in the
end lets his anger with Chris subside to the point that he may think that Chris is
trying to apologize by offering to get him a drink. This thought will inevitably
prove to be another lack of judgment by James. Overall, the process of writing a
play was a fun experience that I would like to come back to at some point in time,
possibly to expand this story in which I have now crafted. Creating three distinct
characters was quite a challenge, and writing a story with nothing but dialogue for
the most part was also difficult; for the most part it is miles apart from writing
fiction. Drawing inspiration from Glengarry Glen Ross helped set

world being against me, I usually spent more time taking apart every genuinely
decent thing that happened in order to find the ugly lies behind every unscratched
facet of my life than actually enjoying it. On top of a difficult situation at home I
was always introverted and never wanted people to talk to me; my social life was
practically non existent. Despite my apprehension I eventually fell into a group of

When on the job site or camping, fishing, and doing other outdoor activities,

This potty is portable enough to go with you anywhere that you may need it. You can

It uses a piston pump that is completely replaceable if you begin to notice it not
flushing out well enough for you. This piston pump provides it with a two
directional rinse so that all of your waste goes down into the tank so you always
have a clean toilet to use.
The bowl is extra deep. This ensures your comfort when sitting on it. You do not
have to worry about splash coming up and touching you or parts of your body
touching the inside of the toilet bowl. Along with this, it features a seat that is 20%
larger than other portable toilet seats.
The lid snaps closed to ensure that it is only open when you need for it to be. This
also prevents it from vibrating when you are hauling it around in your truck or RV.
Many people worry about having to clean a portable toilet. For that reason, this
toilet has an easy to clean, detachable, sprout storage area and a holding tank with a
vent. This makes it less prone to odors when in use and when you are ready to empty
it, discharging waste will be less smelly and easier than with other tanks.
When looking at a portable potty, dimensions matter, because they determine how
easy it is to work with and take along with you. This toilet weighs only 11.6 pounds
when empty. It measures in at 16.5 x 14.5 x 16.2 inches. This means it is compact
enough to carry with you but large enough to be a comfortable throne for you to use
wherever life takes

it wasn t bad just communicating with them when he saw them in the
neighborhood. But what made it look so guilty is steve talked with them about the
payday. Osvaldo said to steve on page 150, Yeah, well, you know, I found where the

11. The Role Of Framing In News Media
Framing is something that has been for hundreds of years. This is the way in
which certain topics and issues are talked about to try to influence the way we
think about an issue. This type of framing is seen on news media every day.
Different types of news media may report on issues in different way depending on
what the issue is. The framing can be really subtle with the use of different words
that can portray two completely different meanings. The issue I will be talking about
is immigration and how immigrants are reported in contrasting type of media.
Immigration over the last years has become an increasing talking point in politics
today. The left and right have contrasting ideas on what should be done about illegal
immigration. News media... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Right leaning sources, like Bill O Reilly, Fox News and many republican politicians,
often refer to unlawful immigrants as illegal. This type of frame has a negative
connotation for immigrants. An immigrant may be seen as more of a criminal. It s
interesting to note that this type of usage of the word is unique to immigration.
Drivers that violate the law are never called illegal drivers . This type of frame
makes the issue seem more of a cut and dry issue of illegal and legal. Immigration
this way becomes a black and white issue. So if one is called an illegal immigrant
then he must be a criminal. The expression invites for the easy use of the word
criminal. Many articles that use this word also seem to tend to use the word criminal.
The word criminal then has an even stronger negative connotation than illegal. The
connection between those two words become even stronger when illegal is used as a
noun. The noun illegals is only used for immigrants and not any other crime. The
connection, thus may be stronger. When it s used as noun the term makes it more of
an attack on the person rather than the actions of
12. She Stoops For Conquer Is A Stage Play Written By Oliver...
She stoops to conquer is a stage play written by Oliver Goldsmith. It is among the
few plays from the eighteenth century with an enduring appeal. The reasons for
producing the play in the eighteenth century include the fact that the play deals
mainly with issues of love and marriage, and during that era, marriage as an
institution was undergoing various changes. Since the middles ages, marriages were
planned, and organized by the parents. The prospective bride and bridegroom had
little influence on how the marriage was to be conducted, particularly when
property, political inclinations, and money were to be considered (Roulston 15 27).
However, during the production of this play, sociological changes like the
consolidation of nuclear family made it difficult for parents to exert maximum
control over their children s marriage. Indeed, Goldsmith exemplifies this in various
scenes in the play. For instance, Mr. Hardcastle selects Marlow as Kate s prospective
husband, organizes a meeting between the two, but unlike in the past, he tells his
daughter that he will never control her choice. Furthermore, the play puts into light
the issue of classes in the society, which was a key aspect of the English society in
the 18th century(Cooper 1). Thus, eighteenth century, marked as the best time for
producing the play since it mainly explored what was happening in English society at
that time.
Throughout the play, Goldsmith does not only focus on entertainment, but also he

These kids are a cancer to teams. Everyone knows that there are always kids with
bad attitudes that do not care; therefore, kids that act like this do not deserve to
have a participation trophy. They do not care about the team and some of them are
very impertinent. There are even some people that are there because their parents
force them to play. There parents may have been really good athletes, but their kids
are not always the best. Those kids are not respectful to the team, so why should they
get a trophy for that?
Finally, kids that are given participation trophies are given the wrong idea. Fifty
seven percent of people said only winners deserve to have participation trophies,
giving out participation trophies is tantamount to giving kids the wrong praise, and
giving kids with bad attitudes and not a care in the world is not a good idea. These
kids need to realize that they need

trophies away from his kids. He is making those kids want to work harder and strive
to earn a real trophy one day. Maybe one day they will end up like him and win a

In order to be muscular the horse needs proper exercise. Backing and trotting are the
main exercises that the trainer should concentrate on. Backing builds up a horse s
hind end, while trotting creates even muscles on each side of the horse. Exercising
helps the horse in many ways. It doesn t only give it firm and sculpt muscles; it
affects its overall health too.
Shampooing and conditioning the horse is extremely important. The horse should
be beautiful and spotless. Never put conditioner in the horse s mane if the horse is
going to have its mane braided or banded for a show because the bands will slip
out. There are many different braiding styles for the horse s mane, there is a hunter
braid, a running braid, and a continental braid (Raspberryridge.com). The horse s
mane can even be banded. Horse s manes will differ from horse to horse, based on
the size of the horse, how bulky the neck is, and what it looks like with the overall
structure and build of the horse. Quarter horses and thoroughbreds look better with
short manes. Arabians and gaited horses prefer longer manes (Baker).
A stripping blade is a good tool to use to cut the mane. The stripping blade has
sharp teeth and a wooden handle. It is used similarly to how a hair stylist uses a
razor. Just hold a small chunk of hair tight in one hand, and slice downwards with the
stripping blade in the other (Baker). A week before the horse show, the horses

People that drinks would sometimes have the urge to want to drive while being
intoxicated. Some people are successful at driving while drunk, and there are some
that are not. People that drive drunk are putting themselves and others at risk. They
could easily crash into other cars, trees, light poles, or drive into a ditch. The police
would detect drunk drivers because they tend to swerve, drive close to the

and a ticket. They would also get their car towed and have to pay to get it back.
That s why drunk drivers would usually have a designated driver to help them. The
last effect that occurs while drinking a lot is violence. People can be very violent

stars and planets. As Thales studied these tables he thought he discerned a pattern or
regularity in the occurrence of eclipses, and he ventured to predict a solar eclipse that

Since, too, a general theory must attempt to explain biological phenomena as well as

Anaximander (610 545?BC), Thales successor, in additions to specific contributions
to science, saw a difficulty in Thales general cosmology. If water were he basic
substance, he thought, fire could never have come into existence, for there is an
essential antagonism between their peculiar qualities. For the same reason, if the
substratum were fire, the existence of fire could not be explained.. Therefore,
Anaximander assumed a Boundless that was neither wet or dry, hot or cold, but rather
indeterminately both wet and dry, cold and hot. Thus, the matter of the universe was
Boundless, not merely because it extended throughout infinite space, but also, and
mainly, because it was not bounded, limited, or defined by any quality. This original
substance produces the world and its content by a swirling motion that separates four
qualities out of the chaotic mass. This swirl explains the revolution of the starts and

The third member of the Milesian school, Anaximenes (590 525BC) could not be

19. Search For Immortal Glory In Beowulf
Beowulf by Seamus Heaney shows throughout the poem the idea of a search for
immortal glory. Beowulf, the main character and hero in the story, fights three main
battles that show his desires. He first fights Grendel, then Grendel s mother, and
finally the dragon. However, his responsibilities and reasons behind fighting change
from his first two battles to the defeat of the dragon. At first, he wishes to make a
name for himself and become a well known herowhen he ventures to save the Danes
from Grendel. Then, he defeats the dragon because it s his responsibility as a king
to save his people and due to his many heroic battles, live up to the name and
expectations others have for him. When defeating the dragon, he sensed that death
was near and wanted to die a hero with the respect of everyone who held high
expectations for him. From the beginning of the poem to the end, Beowulfshows that

ever as fate must. (455) He does have lots of confidence, but this shows him
defending his name more than a lack of fear. By saying this, he is ensuring that he

20. Strategic Leadership Development
Incorporating Strategic Leadership Development Into Company Culture While
supporting leadership development is admirable, incorporating strategic leadership
development into company culture can take organizations to exciting new heights.
While strategic leaders are certainly invested in the present, they have their sights set
squarely on the future. They research trends, things that are important to customers,
and what s happening in the world to create a vision that offers a strong platform for
planning and leading their team to desired outcomes.
Truly successful strategic leaders strongly consider the role culture plays in how far
their organizations can go. Culture is the result of habits and norms, and what
people say and do it s really a set of unwritten rules of behavior that are felt and can
be shaped.
It s fairly easy to see whether strategic leadership development is part of a company
s culture if you listen to the kinds of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Years ago, I worked at a company that was very future focused, and we went
through an exercise to revisit our mission and vision that demonstrates the value of
strategic leadership. We involved a diverse group of 15 18 people, asking them
what it was like to work in the organization and what it would have to be like for
their talents to be maximized.
Once we had their answers, we added our board members to the mix, and we were
so proud of what we came up with; we couldn t wait to share it with the whole

realized our mistake: no matter how on target something might be, people aren t apt

21. The Case Of William Potter
Introduction Many workers are presented with ethical dilemmas every single day.
In the case of William Potter, a conflict of interest arose as he thought about
promoting his son, Henry, to CEO of the family company. Knowing he could not
make an objective decision, he went to a loyal, trusted employee, Jill, to do an
objective review of Henry for him. This then put Jill in an ethical dilemma of her
own. Though she knows that Henry is doing a great job in his current position in
Miami, she also experienced him propositioning her a few years back, consequently
making her life miserable. This conflict forces her to think about the good of the
company as well as her own good, making for a very tough and tolling decision on
how to review Henry. In order to decide what action Jill should take, both
consequentialist and deontological theories should be considered and applied to her
situation.
Consequentialism
According to consequentialist theory, morality is entirely based on the results of
your actions, or all of the consequences that come from doing something (Haines,
n.d.). In Jill s case, whatever she decides to do will likely have both positive and
negative consequences. For example, Jill truly believes that Henry has done a great
job with the company in his current position, and therefore if she recommends
making him CEO, he could make the company successful on a much greater level.
However, if she were to do this, she would put herself in the uncomfortable position

An effort to change constitution in a country is not an easy matter. Need a very valid
reason to do that. To analyze the truth of the statement „sex preference is

This artwork is a Bohemian design painting. The artist shows the impact of
naturalism through visual art by painting human figures and expressing a dramatic
event . The painting shows Jesus hanging on the cross, with the two thieves on both
sides. Above Jesus and the two thieves are two angels hovering. Below Jesus stands
Roman captain Longinus rendering orderings for Jesus to be stabbed to death with
daggers or spears. On the other side of him is the good captain bearing out that
Christ is the Son of God. Accompanying him is John and Mary, and Mary Magdalene.
In the front shows henchmen competing for the ownership of Jesus robe. Examining
the Christian iconography (symbolism) in this artwork I discovered several Christian
images. The first Christian symbol is the cross. In the Christian belief the cross
signifies Christianity. The second Christian symbol is Jesus body hanging on the
cross. This represents the crucifixion, sacrifice, death of Jesus Christ. The third
Christian symbol is the marks on Jesus body. This religious symbolism is called
stigmata. According to the Macmillan Dictionary stigmata is defined as the marks
on Jesus Christ body where he was attached to the cross, or marks on the skin of
some religious people that are similar to these injuries. The fourth Christian symbol
was the angels, which refers to the Holy Trinity

30. Google s Organizational Culture And How It Drives...
Introduction
Google Chrome, Google Fiber, Google Glass, Google Cars... it seems Google is
always one step ahead of their competition with their innovation, which has made
them highly successful in today s business landscape. The purpose of this paper is to
discuss Google s organizational culture and how it drives employee task performance.
To get a complete picture of how the organizational culture affects Googles success,
first look at the history of the company, followed by examining how they define their
culture that embodies innovation, and explain how they recruit talent at a time when
competition is fierce among competing firms. Next, Google s culture explained on
how they manage and maintain their talented employee pool. Lastly the future
outlook for Google will be examined to determine how successful they will be.
History of the company
The definition of organizational culture is a system of shared assumptions, values,
and beliefs, which governs how people behave in organizations. These shared values
have a strong influence on the people in the organization and dictate how they dress,
act, and perform their jobs. Google s organizational culture is made up of innovation,
aggressiveness, outcome oriented, stable, people oriented, team oriented, and detail
oriented people.

31. Piaget Developmental Stages
The thinking patterns of the typical preschooler that is three years old and that of a
nine year old student are in many ways different. The developmental stages of the
brain are very different between a three year old and a nine year old. Piaget s
cognitive development theory is broken up into four stages. The first of the four
stages is the sensorimotor stage, which occurs from birth until age two. The
second stage (ages two to seven) is known as the pre operational stage. The next
stage is the concrete operational stage, for ages seven to eleven. The final stage is
for children above age eleven and is known as the formal operational stage. The
preschooler is considered to be in the pre operational stage. Piaget defines the pre
operational... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This stage is known as the concrete operational stage, which is made up of children
that fall in the age range of seven to eleven years old. During the concrete
operational stage, children are able to think more logically and critically than they
were able to while in an earlier stage of development, thus their symbolic thought is
increasing. A nine year old would also display less egocentric characteristics. For
example, in the previous mountain example, a nine year old would realize that an
individual standing at a different point of the mountain would see the mountain
from a perspective other than that of the nine year olds. The nine year old also no
longer displays the effects of centration. However, the nine year old will have a
hard time thinking abstractly; they will only understand concrete ideas. A key
factor to this stage of development is conservation. Conservation is the ability to
understand that an object stays the same even if superficial aspects are changed.
For example, if a certain volume of water were to fill a small cup, and was then
transferred into a larger cup, the nine year old would realize that the amount of
water in the larger cup is the same as it was when it was in the smaller

Secondly the figures contained in this report have been obtained and analysed from
the year 2009 to 2011. It has also been updated and revised several times including a
revision of life (healthy) expectancy in November 2013. Regular updating and
adjustments of data increases the accuracy and relevance of the outcomes,
furthermore findings gain more validity and recognition.
Another advantage of this report is its use of quantitative research. The selection of
charts, tables and graphs are highly creditable in terms of measuring validity and
reliability. It provides data with precise and non bias numerical findings.
Additionally this report has been published by Public Health England and is part of
the Government s department of health. It is a government obligation to provide
public access to this report and others completed by the public health department.
This wide accessibility suggests that the data obtained has been greatly measured to
support its claims.
On the other hand some disadvantages of reliability can be identified. The data
provided on the life expectancy and healthy life expectancy from birth presents
difficulties in the consistency and replication of the findings. The figures are an
estimated average of new born mortality rate (2010 12) and cannot provide exact
figures of expected life span. The reason for this is because health prevalence and
mortality rate between areas are changeable. In

35. Depressed Patients
The popular Western conception of the depressed patient remains both culturally
pervasive and largely homogenous. From Eeyore to Hugh Laurie s portrayal of Dr.
House, pop cultural depressive symptomology oftentimes equates to images of
despair, withdrawal, and an almost palpable air of sadness. This understanding of
depression, indeed, echoes in diagnostic criteria for depressive disorders as recently
published within the fifth edition of the DSM. Accordingly, the DSM V classifies
those exhibiting either (1) depressed mood and/or (2) anhedonia in conjunction with
at least five of such other symptoms as recurrent suicidal ideation and significant
weight loss for a significant portion of two weeks, as clinically diagnosable with
suffering... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, though each edition of the DSM seeks to maximize multicultural awareness
and sensitivity, several the still existing symptom profiles of mental illness remain
unrepresentative of sometimes large cultural clusters, as in the case of for example
Caribbean Ataque phenomenology . Other issues, such as the more frequent
diagnosis of schizophrenia amongst African American patients and the infrequency of
mood disorder diagnosis in compared to their White counterparts, similarly aggravate
discussion on the validity of clinical judgement and diagnosis of those patients who
belong to marginalized groups (Neighbours et. al,

Anderson writes The Riddles of the Fourth Gospel to provide students, of any level,
with an overview and evaluation of the varying approaches to understanding the
Fourth Gospel, and ultimately to serve as a guide through the controversy and riddles
encountered in the Fourth Gospel. Anderson addresses the work of the international
community of Johannine scholars and introduces a new set of paradigms. The
introduction immediately captivates those who have yet to wade in the perplexities
of the Fourth Gospelby bombarding the reader with the many puzzlements of the
Fourth Gospel. Anderson tackles the issue in three parts.
Part one introduces the most perplexing of the Johannine riddles. After an outline of
the Gospel of John, Anderson presents the threefold riddles: theological, historical,
and literary. Anderson considers familiarity with the points of contention a requisite
for engaging, addressing, and interpreting them. Chapter one exposes the central
features of the Fourth Gospel; which effectively reveals the dissimilarities between
John and the Synoptic Gospels. Chapter two uncovers the theological riddles of the
Fourth Gospel, both incidental and highly significant. For the twelve theological
riddles presented in chapter 2, Anderson conveys the work of Johannine scholarship
as well as presents his own incisive exegesis. Anderson does likewise in his
presentation of the historical and literary riddles in chapters 3 and 4. The first part
successfully establishes the
37. State Anxiety And Anxiety Disorders
Evaluation.
Since the 1980 s there has been a major increase in research on anxiety. Ever since,
special clinics have been introduced in order to help deal with anxiety disorders. It is
suggested that the growth in research is due to anxiety being regarded as one of the
most prominent and pervasive emotions, causing distress and negatively affecting
large numbers of people. As stated by Rachman (2004), anxiety is described as the
experience of unpleasant feelings and the unsettling anticipation of a threatening but
vague event. Anxiety can be experienced in many different ways, such as feeling
tense, uncertain, and perhaps, fearful at the thought of a particular phenomenon or
event. There are two main types of anxieties; state anxiety and trait anxiety. Endler
Kocovski (2001) have explained that state and trait anxiety both result from mental
assessments of a potential threat. Unlike trait, state anxiety is described as a
temporary condition, where once the perceived threatening object or event goes
away, the individual no longer experiences the symptoms of anxiety. Individuals
who exhibit state anxiety will normally feel anxious when going to job interviews,
speaking in front of large crowds or sitting exams. State anxiety is considered to be
useful at particular times, by making us more alert and enhance our performance,
thus creating a fight or flight response (Rachman, 2004). However, in some cases
where the feeling of anxiety is too overwhelming, it can have the
38. The Ontological Proof Of The Existence Of God
In this essay I will discuss the ontological proof of the existence of God. First, I
will discuss what ontology is and how it connects to this proof about God. There are
two kinds of proofs that are going to be talked about in this essay. The ontological
proof was created by Anselm who made this argument that God does exist. To begin
this discussion, ontologyis a part of metaphysicsand concerns itself with the nature of
being. Ontology seeks to answer questions about existence, what s real and what is
not real. The ontological proof is set out to prove why God does indeed exist.
These two are connected because they both are set out to answer life s difficult
questions. In our world today, people have different beliefs and not everyone
believes that there is one God. Some people believe that there is more than one
God and others believe that there is no God at all. Anselm, who wrote the
argument, wanted to prove in two ways that God exists. He wanted people to
believe one way or the other and that is why he wrote more than one interpretation
of the proof. We are going to compare and contrast both interpretations and come to a
conclusion on what interpretation answers the God question and if he is believable.
In this essay, I hope to give you more detail about both interpretations and will help
you choose which interpretation best fits your belief. First we will talk about Anselm.
He was the person who brought the ontological proof argument to life. He believed
that with

Each row of the chart corresponds to an individual machine or operator. These charts
do not indicate which tasks were to be done, however.
A novel method of displaying interdependencies of processes to increase visibility
of production schedules was invented in 1896 by Karol Adamiecki, which was
similar to the one defined by Gantt in 1903. However, Adamiecki did not publish his
works in a language popular in the West; hence Gantt was able to popularize a similar
method, which he developed around the years 1910 1915, and the solution became
attributed to Gantt. With minor modifications, what originated as the Adamiecki s
chart is now more commonly referred to as the Gantt Chart.[11][12]
Gantt Chart
A Gantt chart is a type of bar chart, developed by Henry Gantt in the 1910s, that
illustrates a project schedule. Gantt charts illustrate the start and finish dates of the
terminal elements and summary elements of a project. Terminal elements and
summary elements comprise the work breakdown structure of the project. Some
Gantt charts also show the dependency (i.e. precedence network) relationships
between activities. Gantt charts can be used to show current schedule status using
percent complete shadings and a vertical TODAY line as shown here.
Histrory:
The first known tool of this type was developed in 1896 by Karol Adamiecki, who
called it a harmonogram. Adamiecki published his chart in 1931, however, only in
Polish, which limited both its adoption and

Many politicians have already worked on such solutions but with less than perfect
results. In this article I will describe the solutions that Congress has proposed, the
underlying issues with each of these solutions and discuss what I believe to be a
better approach that calls for a quality control unit to provide regulatory support.
To identify a viable solution, the first thing I did was look at proposed solutions
that are being discussed and pinpoint why they were not gaining support. These
solutions have been disregarded by Congress or the public for a number of
reasons. Currently, Congress is as divided as they have been in recent years and
due to this divide the proposed fixes for the Highway Trust Fund haven t gained
traction in Congress or widespread public support. On one side of the divide you
have a group that would ignore any solution that has a gas tax increase attached to
it and on the other side you have a group that doesn t want to reward corporations
that have been evading taxes by keeping their profits overseas. There is also a
solution that hasn t gained enough public support due to the dislike of toll roads, I
knew to find a solution that could garner enough support from the public and
Congress I had to find the issues that caused these solutions to stall out. The most
discussed fix for the Highway Trust Fund is the gas tax increase proposal that
suggests the current gas tax rate is currently too low and we need to
42. Hans Zimmer s Time From The Movie Inception
The work I selected is Hans Zimmer s Time from the movie Inception. The
structure of Time is one of suspenseful buildup. There is a simple theme that is
introduced and as the song progresses, layers are added. The conjunct melody
becomes more disjunct as Time reaches its climax. Time also has great dynamic
contrast, starting with an eerie pianissimo and slowly building up until the climax
where the piece reaches a gripping fortississimo. Finally, because this piece is
based on the concept of time, the instrumentation reflects that concept. About every
30 seconds a new instrument enters. This constantly changes the timbre of Time ,
allowing the listener s emotions to change as the song progresses. Because of all
of these elements, I decided that a light show would best display all of the
extraordinary components that Time has to offer. A quiet piano playing only in bass
clef enters with low strings (violoncello, contrabass, etc). The piano plays whole
notes while the strings play barely audible pulsing eighth notes. During these first 30
seconds white light (symbolizing the piano) surrounds the set to display that the
piano is what holds the theme. The white light syncs with the whole notes, lasting
for four beats before it fades out and fades back in again. Beneath the white light is
a deep purple, symbolizing the low strings. The dark purple is faded so one can
barely see it, just like how one must listen for the pulsating eighth notes. Like the
white light, the
43. Essay On Roanoke Colony
The Lost Colony of Roanoke
Everyone loves a good mystery, especially one that no one can solve. It gives one
satisfaction to imagine that they can decipher it and become a hero, and it s even
more intriguing when it has lasted a few years. Some missing cases have even
lasted several decades, but none have persisted as long as a case of a certain lost
colony. Originating on an island off the coast of North Carolina in 1585, the mystery
of The Lost Colonists of Roanoke Island has remained for over 400 years (History),
and it continues to baffle historians, investigators, and archeologists alike.
Preceding Events Besides the doomed colony, England had previous failures on
Roanoke. For the English, making permanent settlements in the New World wasn t a
walk in the park. Queen Elizabeth s ultimate goal was to conquer the New World and
have a base to attack incoming Spanish. Sir Walter Raleighvolunteered for the job,
bravely risking himself for the nation s benefit. However, the Queen and Sir Walter
Raleigh were having an affair, and Elizabeth begged him to stay and send soldiers
instead, which he agreed to reluctantly. 1,500 soldiers, artists, and cartographers made
the voyage and were ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When they were released 3 years later, they snatched the first ship they could find
and voyaged back to Roanoke Colony. It was August 18, 1590, the day of Virginia
Dare s third birthday, when John White disembarked to find the colony completely
and entirely bare. There were no colonists anywhere to be found as well as no signs
of struggle or battling. The only clue as to their whereabouts was a crudely scraped
word, CROATOAN and on a nearby tree, CRO . Thinking perhaps the colonists were
living with the Croatoan tribe, John White directed the ship there, but a mighty storm
caused them to retreat to England without any knowledge of their lost
44. The Wife Of Bath s Tale
Geoffrey Chaucer The Father of English, is best known for his literary work The
Canterbury Tales. In which his most realistically developed character is The Wife of
Bath. In The Canterbury Tales, the Wife of Bath s Tale has been seen as
controversial because in the middle ages womanhad no say in anything including
marriage. She considered herself an expert as a wife, (Chaucer, l. 12) and on
marriage because of her past experiences in five marriages. She believed that a
marriage controlled by the woman is a happy marriage, and her beliefs on marriage
are directly connected to the tale she tells.
The Wife of Bath, whose name is Alisoun, has some unusual ideas on marriage,
especially for a woman in the Middle Ages. She considers ... Show more content on

In her tale a handsome young knight is charged with rape and is sentenced to death
by the king. The queen gives him a year and a day to spare his life if he can answer
the question what is the thing that women most desire? (Chaucer, l. 81) On the last
day he meets an elderly woman who gives him the answer and he promises her that
when all of it is over he will give her whatever she desires if it is in his power. The
knight goes before the queen and presents the answer that was told to him by the
elderly woman and the answer is correct. When he asked the woman what she
wanted she replied to be your wife. The knight refused to marry the old woman, he
pleaded her to ask for anything else but that. The old woman said that she would
only settle for marriage and so they got married. On their wedding the knight
expressed his feeling and how he thought that he was to good for her because she
was too old, ugly, and poor. The woman then told him that although she was old,
ugly, and poor she would be a faithful wife. She then proposed to him a choice
would he want her to be old, ugly, poor, and faithful or young and beautiful and risk
that when his friends came over to visit they would visit for the sole purpose of
seeing her. The knight then told her that she could choose and the woman told him
does this mean i will be in control of this marriage? The knight told her yes, yes, yes.
She then became young beautiful and

48. We Must Start Up Your Computer
Personally I love waiting fifteen minutes while my computer starts up. It s an
excellent opportunity for bonding just you and the black screen. But if you prefer to
actually start working before the thoughts of violence creep in, cleaning up your
computer s Startup is a sure fire way to shave off some of that bonding time . Every
time your computerstarts, it loads a batch of programs. Some of these programs are
needed for the computer to run, but most have slipped themselves into your auto
loading queue so that they can accost you every time you start up your computer.
Messenger programs are notorious for this, but there are many other programs that
will automatically invite themselves into your Startup. And let s face it: nobody
likes an uninvited guest. But before you start getting trigger happy and
exterminating programs left and right, you need to give yourself a safety net. Go
to Start All Programs Accessories System Tools System restore. If you ve never
seen this screen before, that s probably a good thing. System Restore is basically a
shield to protect against the inevitable mistakes we humans tend to make. While it
automatically creates restore points, usually when a new program is installed, it s
beneficial to create your own restore point before altering anything on your
computer. If in the event you do make a mistake, you can go back to System Restore

49. Basic Buddhism Essay
The basic Buddhist teachings provide guidance on how to minimize suffering and
maintaining inner peace. The essence of basic Buddhism is referred to as the Three
Jewels . This consists of Sanskrit, Triratna, and Pali which is also considered the
Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The four noble truths basically provide a path to
reality. It concurs that suffering exist, because there is reasoning behind it. The cause
also has an ending, in which the noble eightfold pathprovides the relief to suffering.
The eightfold path provides the passage way to inner peace. You must be able to
understand, develop the right intention, be honest in what you say, create actions that
prevent hurting another being, commit to the right work, remain consistent in your
efforts because meditation creates awareness, and with that it creates inner peace
within an individual.
The three marks of reality are change, no permanent identity, and suffering. Change
requires a person to understand that experiences will never remain the same. No
permanent identity provides the knowledge to look within an object or a person and
see that there are several parts that makes up a singular form. These parts consistently
changes, which allow a singular form to create new experiences. The body parts ...

Vajrayana adopts is more rapid than that of Mahayana. The three names which brings

concentrate ones mind, aid to a persons memory, and provide enhancement to the
development of spiritual awareness. Tantrayana provides an extension of continuous
knowledge; the early teaching of all three traditions leads, or works towards

Skechers objective is to become the leader of casual and performance footwear
while making sure their company has longevity. Skechers strives to to achieve this
objective by offering different assortments of merchandises at a low cost. Skechers
has been a prominent affordable footwear brand since it was first founded in 1992
by a man named Robert Greenberg. Before Skechers Robert had a successful
California based branded called L.A. Gear, L.A. Gear took a sudden lack of
interest by consumers so Robert decided to make an entirely different brand,
which we now know as Sketchers. To fund his new brand Robert had an idea to
license the image of the fictional film character E.T. to appear on shoelaces and
sell them in retail stores which ended up making him in over three million dollars
in revenue in just under 2 months. Utilizing the prior experience from L.A. Gear,
Robert began to market Skechers as a young, trendy consumers product primarily
stylish shoes for just men. Robert wanted to be in a niche markets because at the
time now a lot of local apparel companies had over focuses not just mens shoes.
Robert signed a deal with one of the largest distributors in the U.S which was Dr.

51. Tone Of My Last Duchess
In My Last Duchess, The poet is clearly unhappy with his last Duchess, the tone is
wheedling, reproachful admiration of the actual portrait of the woman, whom he
adores as art. The words, MY last , implicate that this is not the only duchess he had.
If there were only one, he might have said, My first duchess He is not interested in
mourning his previous wife, but extolling the beauty of the painting of her while
courting a new one. He explains that she was more than delighted to smile at other
men, no differently than she did for him. She clearly upstaged him on several fronts,
not being deferential to him, or to the name she took on with marriage to him. He
equates her value in the portrait highly, while disparaging her human form.
52. Comparing Plato s Republic, The Philosopher And Plato
In Plato s Republic, the philosopher is sitting having a discussion with his fellow
peers and friends. During this conversation each character except Plato offers their
opening and reasoning on the question, what is justice. For the majority of the book
Plato outlines almost every aspect of his ideal city. Within this city Platohas set up
many rules in order for the city to remain just. All the way from mating rituals to
who should rule, virtually all factors have been thought of and serves a specific
purpose. One of the most important question that was raised in the book is, who is
should be the ruler of the city? Evidently Plato believes that it is the philosopher
who is most fit to rule. He reaches this conclusion after discussing a variety of
factors that put philosophers above the rest, Plato being a philosopher seems to be
the most creditable in making this argument in The Republic. In Plato s book,
Adeimantus attempts to put dispute his claim. Not only him but philosopher and a
student of Plato, Aristotle does the same in his text as well. Aristotle emphasizes the
importance of the laws in his Ethics and Politics. He specifically implies that a ruler
who is a philosopher rules by judgment, not laws, and as a result the ruler will rule for
himself and thus becomes a tyrant (Nichomachean Ethics, V.6, 1134a). Both Plato
and Aristotle give compelling arguments as to why they think they are right on who
should rule. Aristotle s claim is accurate, that in the long run

54. Case Study of Terrorism Essay
On September 11, 2001, the United States (U.S.) experienced an act of overt
terrorism unparalleled in its history. The extremist terrorist group, al Qaeda,
attacked the U.S and briefly paralyzed a nation. This was a physical attack on the
US, but in retrospect, a global attack on democracy. The U.S. and its coalition
partners came to the realization that this act of terrorism was potentially a precursor
to an asymmetric warfare campaign that had global impact. After carefully analyzing
the magnitude of this event, the U.S. realized this could not be a unilateral effort; it
had to seek support from its partners in countering terror campaigns worldwide. In
support of the U.S. efforts, the Air Force (AF) should build partnership... Show more

Based on the make up of the Air Command and Staff College (ACSC), a resident
program located at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama, it will
represent the AF PME School during this analysis. ACSC is an intermediate level
PME School for U.S. and international military personnel. Air National Guard
(ANG) personnel attend ACSC, with very few, if any, Army NG personnel.
Therefore, this study will only focus on the use of ANG personnel. After completing
ACSC, U.S. military forces possess the skills and knowledge to fill squadron
commander positions and operational staff level jobs supporting Combatant
Commanders, Joint Staff, Air Staff, and senior level interagency officials. According
to Brigadier General Jimmie Jackson, Jr., then ACSC Commandant, he testified to
Congress on June 25, 2009 that since 1946 approximately 2,500 IO s from 92
nations graduated from the college and later became Chiefs of Staff, Heads of State,
Ministers, Ambassadors, or members of Parliament . Because many of these IO s
become prominent figures in their government, it s possible that information shared
and relationships cultivated while attending ACSC could help influence their views
about the U.S. In Phase I, as part of its initial indoctrination process, ACSC should
assign Guardsmen and IO s from partnering nations in the same classroom during the
