a serious academic gender achievement gap in the United States and as I will
discuss, around the world. Young women are doing significantly better than young
men, and the results are shocking. In the latest census, males make up 51 percent of
the total U.S. population between the ages of 18 24. Yet only 40 percent of today s
college students are men. Since 1982, more American women than men have
received bachelor s degrees. In the last ten years, two million more women graduated
from college than men. As Kaplan reveals, the average eleventh grade boywrites at
the level of the average eighth grade girl. He also states that women dominate high
school honor rolls and now make up more than 70 percent of class valedictorians.

The purpose of this study was to study how the method of growing food
organically or non organically affected the mold growth between the two. Also,
looking at whether or not organic food or non organic food is healthier for you.
Throughout a one week period, data was collected each day by a ranking system
on a scale of 1 to 5. The rank gave a number for how much mold grew after one day.
1 meaning no mold and 5 meaning more than 10 spots of mold. The three foods
involved in this study were cheese, strawberries, and bananas. There were an organic
and non organic foodfor each food item. The food was placed in a dark and warm
cabinet. It is claimed that non organic food will grow mold faster based on the
number of mold spots grown because mold likes to grow in the dark better. Other
studies explained there is not a significant difference nutritionally between organic
and non organic foods.

This literature review is concerned with the effective and engaging way to deliver
visual art lesson to students. This is a significant educational topic because research
suggests that students engagement in the classroom has been distinguished as the
important indicator for students academic success (Harbour, Evanovich, Sweigart,
Hughes, 2015). Errey and Wood (2011) also suggest that the higher the level of
students engagement will result in a better learning outcome. However, many
students have fallen in the category of disengage during their classroom practice,
which also includes art classroom. The existing literature on visual art education
proven that many students in art classroom claimed that they were bored and
showed resistance in their art classes (Pennisi, 2013), they were also not as
enthusiastic about their art project as the teacher (Andrews, 2010). So, the purpose
of this literature review is to discuss several approaches for teachers to effectively
deliver art education in the classroom.
The existing literature on visual art education proven that there is little evidence of
how teaching practice happens in the classroom (Mitchell, 2016). Mitchell (2016)
also argues that although there are several types of research that provide the
important information on the foundation of art educations, there is barely any
information that proves how learning effectively occurs in the art education. This
approach might include building a positive relationship (Keeffe, Lovejoy, Spenser

My Summer in Chicago
I couldn t help but to feel anxious and excited. It was my first time being in such a
vast city and I couldn t wait to explore it. The time was near the end of July, this is
when my dad usually enjoys taking our summer vacations, primarily outside of our
state to somewhere else new and exciting. That summer my dad decided to take a
week long road trip and visit, Wisconsin Dells, Chicago, St. Louis, and Madison. My
dad said he wanted to show my sisters and I all the adventures he did in Chicago
when he was my age. I had felt joyful about the trip, I could not wait to see all the
buildings and walk down the Navy Pier. To tell the truth, I was more excited to visit
