1. Hope Essays
Crafting an essay on the theme of "Hope" can be a challenging yet rewarding endeavor. The
difficulty lies not only in the broad nature of the topic but also in capturing the essence of hope
itself. Hope is an abstract and multifaceted concept that transcends cultural, social, and personal
boundaries, making it a complex subject to dissect and analyze.
To begin with, defining hope can be a daunting task. It encompasses a range of emotions, from
optimism and anticipation to resilience and faith. Pinning down a precise definition that does
justice to the depth of the concept requires a nuanced understanding and careful consideration of
various perspectives.
Furthermore, exploring the significance of hope necessitates delving into its role in different
aspects of life – be it personal, societal, or global. Analyzing how hope influences human
behavior, shapes decision-making processes, and serves as a catalyst for positive change adds
another layer of complexity to the essay.
The challenge intensifies when attempting to convey the subjective nature of hope. It is deeply
rooted in individual experiences, making it inherently challenging to present a universally
applicable perspective. Balancing the personal and universal aspects of hope requires finesse and
an empathetic approach to connect with a diverse audience.
Moreover, the essay must avoid the pitfall of becoming overly optimistic or idealistic.
Maintaining a realistic tone while discussing hope is crucial to provide a well-rounded and honest
portrayal of the concept. Striking this balance requires a careful selection of examples, anecdotes,
and evidence to support the arguments without veering into overly sentimental territory.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "Hope" demands a thoughtful and comprehensive exploration
of the topic. Navigating through the complexities of definition, significance, individual
experiences, and maintaining a balanced tone requires skill and dedication. However,
successfully capturing the essence of hope in a well-crafted essay can leave a lasting impact on
readers, offering them a renewed sense of inspiration and understanding.

In Year 3 the students placed above the average achievement level of students in
Australia in persuasive writing and fell just below the average in spelling, grammar
and punctuation. In persuasive writing, Grafton Public had 9% more students
achieve a band 6 or above and 6% more students achieve a band 5 compared to
statistically similar schools. The band with the highest placement of scores from the
Grafton schoolchildren for persuasive writing was band 5. In Year 5, there was a
decline in the persuasive writing scores as the school mean fell below the Australian

(ACARA, 2016). 2.RESULTS INTERPRETED Grafton Public School ranked just
below the average Index of Community Socio Educational Advantage value,
indicating it has a slight educational disadvantage compared the other Australian
schools. Almost half (48%) of the students at Grafton Public fall in the bottom quarter
of socio educational advantage according to the distribution of students across
Australia. The number of teaching staff at the school totals 38 and this number has
been consistent over the past 8 years, meaning students may have exposure to
multiple educators to who can offer educational support. Students at Grafton Public
School have quite an immaculate attendance score of 90%, which is an encouraging
statistic as students are responding positively to being present in their educational
setting and constantly immersing themselves in a positive learning environment.
Strengths and Weaknesses Grafton Public School has demonstrated they are
maintaining the Australian average for spelling. In Year 3, the school has a smaller
margin of confidence and the students fall predominantly in bands 3, 4 and 5. This
bell curve result demonstrates that the majority of students are achieving similar
scores. Despite the fact the students fall just short of the Australian schools average,
there is clearly room for improvement. Spelling results from the same cohort in Year
5 show similar results, whereby the average student
3. Culture And Childbirth Analysis
The intensity of pain that women encounter during childbirth has been a topic in
many studies in society since the beginning of time. However, although many
research have been done it has not yet been determined whether the severity of the
maternal labor pain endured by women was, or continues to be a product of nature or
nurture. In the 1989 article titled Cultural and Educational Influences on Pain of
Childbirthauthors Matisyohu Weisenberg PhD and Zahava Caspi MS investigated
how the social and cultural (or sociocultural) and the educational background of a
women can indeed affect their behavior when enduring the severe pain of childbirth,
their ability to cope and the way they expressed it. The study that was being

The study of childbirth is openly accepted in Western conversation however it is
an intimate and private event in the eyes of many Middle Eastern cultures which is
why these women, especially the lowly educated ones do not have access to
important knowledge revolving around the birth of a child. The study found that
the correlation between family and pain perception was mostly found in the lowly
educated Middle Eastern women and solely the Middle Eastern women in general
where the pain was perceived to be more intense (Weisenberg and Caspi, 17).
Theoretically, these two different group are said to have different pain perception
due to the completely different societies that they live in or participate in which can
in part lead back to how human behavior coincides with nurture s ideology: that the
effect that psychological process (such a child birth) can be due to social
environmental factors. Access to maternal classes, female doctors or other sources
that could possibly aid in decreasing the pain of childbirth or at least coping with it,
is voluntarily available to these women of Middle Eastern heritage, especially to

4. Organizational Change Paper
Burke (2014) stated that organizations change from day to day. The changes that
take place in organizations can be intentional or unintentional. Generally, the
changes that occur is accidental. It is important to have a broader and deeper
knowledge of understanding organization change. Understanding what is currently
happening as well as trends in which the organization is functioning can provide
such awareness. In an effort to grasp the concepts of organization change in greater
depth, it is vital to: (a) gain insight of the history of organization change, (b) know
the nature of organizational change, (c) identify the levels of organizational
change, and (d) review evaluate research, theory and models of change. History of
Organization Change Organization change can be traced back to the early Bible
days, involving Moses and his father in law Jethro. Moses, not only deemed as
leader, but also counselor, judge and minister to thousands of Israelite followers.
All of the followers had direct contact to Moses, due to his position, was
responsible for dealing with various issues. Jethro, Moses father in law, suggested
that he reorganize the structure that was in place. Jethro suggested that Moses
choose a few noble men to serve as rulers, which in turn will be the only ones to
have direct access to him, in the event that a problem arose that they could not
resolve. From there, under the rulers would be lieutenants, so forth and so down to
the lowest group. The

Jamaica Kincaid was born Elaine Cynthia Potter Richardson. Her family raised her
to be methodist with a splash of West Indian voodoo. She grew up poor on the island
Antigua, which was controlled by the British in her childhood. Kincaid often wrote
about the immigrant experience. In her short story Girl, a mother is instructing her
daughter on how to live a honest life. In the story, food and clothes are motifs that
reveal how to be a respectable womanin Antiguan society.

6. Analysis Of The Film Invictus
Many times, when I think of leaders, I tend to look their heart. Being a leader is
more than that but, if a leader doesn t have a good heart than they aren t a good
person in my opinion. Therefore, I believe that the film Invictus does a great job at
portraying just that. This film follows two real life leaders Nelson Mandela and
François Pienaar. Both come together and try to unite South Africa. After Mandela,
is jailed for over 27 years his goal is to have peace amongst all the races.
One very important thing that is talked about is the essence of leadership. Nelson,
states that people are inspired to do greatness and so is everyone else by using the
work of others. He only expects more of himself. This is what keeps him going every
day and that s how he keeps growing as a person.
In the film, Mandela showed qualities of a true leader. He did not hold onto
resentment even though he was in jail for almost three decades. In one instance, he
wanted races to be united no matter the color of their skin. When his security team
needed more people, he made sure that he had white security as well. Mandela s
original team did not agree with him and therefore they were furious. The head of
security went to speak with Mandela and Mandela told him that change starts with
them. By him having different types of races working for him this showcased that it
didn t matter the color of their skin. Everyone is equal in the end.
Going further into the film, Mandela showed leadership

Patience is the key which solves all problems A quote said by Sudanese proverb.
This quote shows the importance of patience and its role in solving our daily life
obstacles. Individual personalities differ according to the traits they have. But one
trait that we should all acquire is patience. Actually, Patience is a blessing that every
individualshould be attentive to its benefits. When you are patient you ll not go
crazy when you are waiting in a traffic jam or when you re waiting the traffic lights
to turn into green, or lose your mind when you hear the screaming of a baby, it is
not being hastily peeved because of tinny beers. (Lines 6, 7, 8) Therefore, patience is
to accept interruptions and obstacles or either pain without getting irritated or mad.

personalities; but still patience is a special quality and a treasured characteristic that
every individual have to gain. Patience is a virtue; it is a point of strength that richens

8. Argumentative Essay On Drinking Milk
You always hear your mom or dad say, Drink your milk, so you can get stronger!
but is milk really making you strong, or is it actually hurting you? Scientists say,
Dairy consumption can play a role in asthma, Parkinson s disease, and highly
elevated blood pressure. Dairy is highly inflammatory, causing issues like bloating,
gas, constipation, diarrhea, and acne. When you drink milk, you are actually
consuming far more than just milk. American dairy farmers have long been
injecting cows with a genetically engineered bovine growth hormone called rBGH
to increase milk production(MindBodyGreen), So what are you really putting in
your body that according to your parents makes you Big and Strong ? In this
paper, I tell you the truth about the three most common dairy products that just
might leave you speechless. Dairy consumption can lead to fatal diseases. The
average amount of serving you pay per gallon is 25 cents. Why are you paying that
if it s so unhealthy? Over the years, scientist and nutritionist have created lactose
free, dairy free, and soy free milk. A popular brand that we often consume is Silk. It
s free of all of soy, lactose, and dairy. Milk isn t unhealthy, in fact milk is very
healthy, but the dairy in the milk isn t. As this text stated, Milk Intake and Risk of
Mortality and Fractures in Women and Men, researchers following more than
100,000 men and women in Sweden for about 20 years found significantly higher
rates of bone and hip fractures,

How the Makers of Shrek Subvert the Usual Conventions of a Fairytale Using
Presentational Devices
In this essay I am going to discuss how the makers of Shrek overturned the expected
characteristics of a fairytale. They do this by using presentational devices such as
lighting, music, camera angles and visual effect. In my opinion if the film did not
use these presentational devices the way they did, it would not be as successful and
people would see it in a totally different way.
The producers of Shrek took conventional well known fairytale characters and
changed them to make them humorous, for example the three little pigs were given
stereotypical homosexual voices. Other characters in the film ... Show more content

I will now talk about how factors from the conventional fairytale is used and changed
in the film. From knowing how the conventional fairytale goes Shrek knows he will
find Princess Fiona in the Highest room in the tallest tower However Shrek is not a
conventional hero. We see this when Shrek finds the princess and is supposed to
wake her with a kiss, however Shrek shakes her franticly. We all know you are
supposed to slay the dragon before you save the princess, whereas Shrek doesn t
even do that. This is when Princess Fiona knows something is wrong and says, This
isn t right and she later says, Should it not be a wonderful, romantic moment? At this
point in the film we think Princess Fiona is a conventional princess and wants it to
go the way she has planned for many years.
Later on in the film we find out that Princess Fiona is not the conventional princess
we thought she was. As she was bad mannered, fought Robin Hoods merry men and
ate rats, which makes her very different from other fairytale heroines, as they are
very polite, very pathetic and wouldn t dream of touching a rat.
I will now analyse the presentational devices used in the film. The Presentational
devices are some of the things that subvert Shrek from being a conventional fairytale
and adds brilliant effects. A really good example is when
10. Controlled Fire During The Paleolithic Period
Controlled Fire in the Paleolithic Period (2.6 million B.C. 10,000 B.C.)
The origins of controlled fire go back to the Paleolithic Period, by early humans
some of the evidence takes us all the way back to East Africa. The use of controlled
fire was a big and important development for these early humans, this tool could be
handled in so many ways not only provided them food but also shelter, and protection.
The development of controlled fire meant that food could be haunted and cooked
immediately so meat wouldn t rot. Because there were many hominids scared
across the world controlled fire allowed them to defrost frozen meat in cold regions,
this provided a more sterilized as well as nutritious diet. It could not only be used for

Clothing was part of these new developments, prehistoric clothing consisted of fur,
grass, leaves and leather that were wrapped or tied to the body in order to protect
from elements of the time. Archeologist have seen objects like handmade needles
that were used to sew these clothing s in order to create different items to keep
them warm and dry. A main disadvantage of most prehistoric clothing was that the
materials would deteriorate quite fast, later on the next generation of humans found
themselves creating more durable and wearable pieces of clothing. Neanderthals
faced harsh climates there were parts of Northern Asia and Europe that had series
of Ice ages, because of this man had to step up and create something to keep their
body heat. With the creation of tools in order to hunt they found themselves hunting
deer, mammoths and bears which provided large, thick and furry coats for them. At
first their clothing tended to be simple by making holes in the head and arm area
letting them drape all over their bodies. Later on it can be seen that they grew more
and more sophisticated by creating strips to wrap their clothing in place sort of like
belts.
After Neanderthals there came the invention of the tunics by the Cro Magnon people
they mainly consisted of skin from a given animal and it
11. Protien Molecules Research Paper
The production of protien molecules happends in two stages, transcription and
translation. Transciption takes place in the nucleus. First, DNA in the nucleus, its
double stranded in eukaryote cells. DNA molecule unfolds forming two templates of
DNA. RNA polymerase attaches itself to a template of DNA and synthesizes mRNA.
DNAcontains the cistrons/genes which code for specific polypeptides. The part of
the strand that forms the cistron is called the transcribing strand. It acts as a template
and is transcribed to mRNA. The complementary strand which does not carry the
cistron is called the non transcribing strand. An enzyme RNApolymerase attaches
itself to the promoter site next to the cistron on the DNA and initiates transcription.
The enzymes... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the process of transcription, an enzyme called RNA polymerase binds to
DNA at a gene s promoter, then begins unwinding the DNA and making a
complementary strand of RNA from the exposed DNA template. Depending on the
gene being transcribed, the result can be a molecule of mRNA (messenger RNA),
tRNA (transfer RNA), or rRNA (ribosomal RNA). Each type of RNA performs a
specific function later in translation. Ribosomal RNA (rRNA) along with ribosomal
proteins make up ribosomes, the workbenches on which polypeptides (proteins) are
synthesized. It turns out that it is actually rRNA, and not a protein, in the large
subunit of the ribosome that performs the peptidyl transferase function of linking
amino acids together via peptide bonds. In eukaryotes, the genes coding for rRNAs
are located in the nucleolus of the nucleus. A ribosome has 3 binding sites: an A
(aminoacyl) site, a P (peptidyl) site, and an E (exit) site. The message carrying the
information needed to make a particular polypeptide exists in the mRNA molecule.
It binds with a ribosome and the ribosome starts reading it one codon 3 consecutive
mRNA bases at a

13. Dbq Essay On Imperialism
Imperialism originates from the Latin word imperium , which means supreme power.
But what is imperialism? Imperialism means a policy of sending a country s power
and influence through force. In the late 19th century, European imperialism in Africa
was fueled by competition between countries. The driving force behind European
imperialismin Africawas national competition because of cultural attitudes, the need
to build up and maintain a good reputation, and economic reasons.
Cultural attitudes greatly fueled national competition. For example, Rudyard Kipling
s poem The White Man s Burden showed the superiority of the white Europeans
towards the Africans (Document F: Rudyard Kipling, The White Man s Burden,
1899). This superiority shown illustrates the need Europeans felt to help the Africans
and improve their conditions. Also, John Ruskin mentioned in a lecture that England
need to teach their future African colonists (Document B: John Ruskin, lecture at
Oxford University, February 8, 1870). This shows that the Europeans believed that
colonization could be a way to educate the Africans, thus imperialism. These cultural
attitudes were the roots of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Freidrich Fabri from Germany wrote that establishing colonies would not only
build up, but also maintain a good reputation for the country (Document B:

not only increase a country s recognition as a world power, but also improve their
political power. This urge for a good reputation is also seen in maps from the late
19th century (Document A: Partition of Africa, 1884 85). The map shows Africa
split into many European colonies. The map also shows a tension between countries,
which can be understood from Fabri s words. This tension is for a good reputation,
and this tension is what will lead to national

Decapitated Souls: A Study of Visual Imagery and Symbolism in Wilfred Owen s
Disabled and Sylvia Plath s The Applicant
Poetry often harbors an individual s outlook on society and harnesses their
feelings into a work of literature that evaluates the existential situation and holds a
mirror to humanity. The poems Disabled , by World War I poet Wilfred Owen, and
The Applicant by Confessional poet Sylvia Plath, are renditions of self identity. In
his poem, Wilfred Owen discusses the dark, post war neglect faced by a war veteran
as he struggles to adapt to his life after being decapitated on the battlefield and
secluded from society. Whereas, Sylvia Plath s monologue illustrates women
essentially stripped of identity and being forced to conform to gender stereotypes.
Both poems make use of visual imagery and symbolism to reflect the discrimination
that leads to segregation within society and dehumanization of spirit.
The poems, Disabled and The Applicant both make use of imagery to identify
dehumanization of spirit, however, both poets approach the idea with different
images and perspectives. The anti war poem exhibits the rejection felt by the
wounded speaker, presumably Owen, through solemn imagery. The poem illustrates
that no matter how honorable the speaker s sacrifice appeared, his role in the post
war lifestyle is to be in the sidelines while people touch him like some queer disease
(Owen 13) because of his disability. The poem further moves on to reveal
15. Risk And Uncertainty Of The Oil And Gas Industry
RISK AND UNCERTAINTY Introduction: There is almost nothing in this world
where there is no risk involved. Risk involved is a major topic of concern in
everyday life more than ever before. This report gives an overview about the risks
involved in everyday life and especially in the oil and gas industry. Discussion:
Risk can be defined as The possibility of a (negative) event occurring . Risk and
uncertainty go hand in hand. When you are certain about something that you do
then there is less or no risk involved. There is more risk when there is uncertainty
about a particular outcome and you still go for it. Risk in Oil and Gas Industry:
Health, safety and environmental risks are major concern in the oil and gas
industry. The workers engaged in the direct work process are prone to accidental
risks such as cuts, bruises, chemical burns, fractures, etc. Respiratory ailments are
also caused due to the large amount of gases mainly hydrocarbons. While working
on the rigs there is a risk of becoming deaf due to the loud noise and vibrations of
the machinery present on the rig. There are also safety concerns like the height at
which the rigs operate above sea level. There are always cranes carrying heavy
containers which might fall from a height causing serious injury to personnel.
There is a high risk of slips, trips and falls as the workers work at a height and the
surface they work on is uneven. The workers in the oil and gas industry have to
work in a confined space such as

A Room With a View Literary Merit I as a reader enjoy reading, however I do not

the first five to chapters are the hardest to get through. I admire how with reading
you are able to make your own depiction of what s happening, instead of seeing

interested. I love being able to get to know the characters, feeling as if they are
apart of your own life, being able to see them as almost a friend in your own life.
Taking their life lessons and putting them to use in your own. I like more romantici
books where they have to get over many obstacles to obtain their great love. I also
enjoy reading about a character who is able to turn their troubles around and
become better than they once were. As a little girl I was always read to; I wish that I
read more on my own when I was younger. I think it would have helped me get over
the whole trouble starting a book phase. I do see myself growing though. I praise
older romantic/ coming of age books with their complexity, symbolism, and
messages, they have a certain personality that I adore reading. Finding books like
these make me enjoy reading a lot more than I did, say six years ago. Literary merit

During Europe s Age of Enlightenment (1675 1800) new philosophies on human
rights and liberties were developed. The ideas of Locke and Descartes had a
revolutionary influence on politics and society; these new concepts fueled a growing
debate about the role of women in public life. These arguments would take seed in the
new nation of America, and blossom into immense social and political change in the
following decades. During the nineteenth century, American women expanded into
more public spheres by aggressively leveraging new technology and social
movements. With the dawn of America s Industrial Revolution in the 1820s, the first
urban factories emerged, providing the first non domestic job opportunities for
women. Some factories embraced... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

these policies in place because it benefited their own economy. American colonies

Salutary neglect was allowing strict laws on mercantilism not to be enforced. The
Navigation Acts allowed only certain supplies to be shipped through specific

Great Britain was okay with allowing salutary neglect for the colonies, as long as
they obeyed them. The colonies were happy with this because it gave them some

Even the Corinthians were wisdom seekers. As a result, the secular Corinth heavily

what would presently be called consumerism, postmodernism and audience pleasing

Yet it kept him from the poison of self reliance, and let God s strength flow. Paul s
rhetorical depreciation of his person and his oratory so as to highlight the power of
God at work in the gospel is reflective of his view that the messenger and the
message are as one in the proclamation of the gospel .
The word wisdom , based on its usage within the bible, can be rendered to its
occasional uses in the Old Testament to refer to mechanical dexterity, while its
dominant uses within the New Testament generally refers to an attribute of God or
as divine knowledge . In the predominant context of the New Testament, the word
wisdom can be interpreted through the Greek word Sophia , which can be
rendered as practical wisdom or wisdom personified; the English translation of the
word is divine/holy wisdom and was widely used by early churches . Paul uses the
word wisdom (sophia) several times in chapters 1 3; the word wisdom appears
sixteen times and wise appears ten times hinting on the predominance of the word in
these chapters. This suggests that wisdom was fundamentally a Corinthian issue,
which Paul was forced to address in a corrective, ad hoc manner. Hence it is
reasonable to argue that Paul s notion of wisdom in

The main purpose of this report is to critically analyse Mexico s monetary policies
in past 15 years and their impact on country s economic growth. In this report, we
mainly focus on exchange rate policy which has been implemented by Central Bank
of Mexico. The main reason of choosing Mexico as a country to analyse is that
Mexico, the second largest economy in Latin America, has gone through challenging
times in past years, which makes the case even more interesting to look into.
The report also investigates the Tequila Crises that Mexico has been through since
1994. The main reasons behind the crises as well as its impacts on country s
economic growth will be examined in the report. Furthermore, other indicators
effecting the whole situation will also be investigated in the report such as real GDP
growth, inflation
24. Analysis Of The 1992 Los Angeles Riots
The state of California has a rich history of events, that on a social level, have played
major parts in change and perception among the populations as a whole, and in
individual communities. History has shown, and will continue to do so in the future,
that changes within communities, towns, cities, states, and countries is generally
motivated by civil injustice. In researching defining moments , I have chosen the
1992 Los AngelesRiots. The riots of 1992 mark a pivotal point in time for
California in regard to social issues and injustices in matters of race and
socioeconomics. Following, I will describe the defining event , the 1992 Los Angeles
riots, and why I believe what was important that was learned, and how it has
impacted California 25 years later. I was in school, ninth grade, and it was early
afternoon. The whole class was tense and quiet. It seemed like that old, round clock
had stopped ticking. The whole school had the Rodney Kingverdict on our minds.
We knew it was coming today and we all knew they weren t going to punish those
officers for beating Rodney King like he was a dog. I couldn t wait to get home. I
wanted to be safe at home. My home girls are stressing and passing notes joking
about running home while the teacher is reading a magazine. The intercom buzzer

25. Immanuel Kant Essay
The minority is a weakness to make usage of one s own appreciation without bearing
from another. This minority is self gained when its cause lies not without seeing, but
instead without assurance, and grit to use it without heading from another. In Kant s
article stating what is Enlightenment ? Immanuel Kantcharacterizes enlightenment as
man s rising up out of his purposeful youthfulness. With the goal for us to totally
comprehend this definition, we should first comprehend what Kant implied by
Adolescence. In the written work Kant characterizes youthfulness as the failure to
utilize one s understanding without the direction from another. Moreover, Kant trusts
that this youthfulness is deliberate and that it is the individual s blame for without
the boldness and set out to have an independent mind, however rather pay others to

I considerably concur with this thought, be that as it may, his comments on
immaturity in connection to the administration, the way individuals ought to live,
and religion is very reckless and nonsensical. In like manner, I do concur that
individuals ought to have the capacity to live uninhibitedly, and have a problem
solving attitude, in any case, I don t concur that they need to live without standards,
directions or a legislature. With regards to edification Kant trusts that freedom is an
ideal approach to accomplish enlightenment. Opportunity as per Kant is unique in
relation to our typical definition. Opportunity regarding edification implies the
capacity to freely utilize one reason in all

Months prior to the battle, the Confederate Army dealt a blow to the Union Army
at the battle of Chancellorsville was in May 1863. At the battle of Chancellorsville
Major General Joseph Hooker, who commanded the Army of the Potomac, lay in
defeat by a smaller force under the command of General Robert E. Lee. The Army
of the Northern Virginia had sent the Union forces retreating inflicting over 15,000
casualties. In mid June 1863, General Lee moved his army across the Potomac
River for the second invasion of the North. On June 28th, General George Meade
took command of the Union forces. On June 29th, the newly appointed Commander
ordered his army to pursue General Lee. They would later meet at Gettysburg.
Gettysburg was a point of strategic importance, many roads concentrated there. An
army could easily converge or diverge from this point. The day before the battle
began, Confederate troops managed to reach Gettysburg before Union troops. They
had taken up positions to the north west of town. Union troops arriving from the
south of town sent scouts out and when the scouts returned, they informed leaders
the enemy was to their north. On the morning of July 1, 1863, Union cavalry troops
commanded by General Bufurd had sent scouts to the northwest of town and
encountered Confederate troops. He gave the orders for his cavalry division to move
out. Battery A, 2nd U.S. Artillery and its 3 inch Ordnance rifles followed the cavalry
division. These rifles mounted on

I found this experience of keeping a dialectic journal extremely mind opening. I
had been keeping a journal for a few weeks before this assignment began. For those
who may not know a dialectic journal is when for a set number of days a person
free writes for a set amount of time, and then for an equal number or days responds
to what they wrote. My focus was supposed to be a tomato, but I quickly realized
that the tomato was only there to begin the conversation. I have always been a
person who is inside their head more often than not, which made some of the entries
begin to come from a darker room within my mind. When I started writingthis journal
I was okay with the assignment, and it was fun to come up with the story of
Alfredo. Soon after however, my entries started to get more and more about
myself. I jokingly write at one point that if this journal does not end in psych
evaluation I did not do my job correctly , little did I know that the depressive side
of my mind would soon bring that into a possibility. I have bipolar disorder and
spend most of the last 4 days writing about it, I found that putting words on paper
helped somewhat. I also found that putting the words on paper became easier as I

Writing has always been one of those things that I have had to work at to get words

That makes PP can be applied in many sectors.
Lastly, PP has a good resistance to fatigue, which means, even PP products had been
used for a long period of time, they will not have a structural damage easily. That
makes the products of PP have a high durability.
5. Usage
From the properties I have mentioned above, we can conclude that PP has a lot of
advantages. And because PP is very cheap, so it has a widely use in our daily lives.
As PP has a high melting point, one of the major usages of it is to produce dishware
or food container, it can also put into microwave for heating without the risk of being
melted or release toxic substances.
Moreover, because PP is very tough, many plastic furniture are also made up of it.
Compare to the furniture made up of metal, PP s furniture can avoid corrosion. And
it is more comfortable than metal furniture because metal will become hot if u sit on
it for a period of time, but PP s furniture is relatively cooler as it is plastic.
Lastly, due to the resistance of fatigue, PP will also use to produce auto parts or
industrial fibers, so it can ensure the risk of breaking down due to fatigue is
minimized, and the cost is also lowered.
6. Misconceptions
From the response of the general public to the plastic pellet incident, we can see that
most of us may have some common misconceptions towards the plastic pellets or PP.
29. Firstly, the PP itself is non toxic. If PP is toxic, then why
30. To What Extent Should Major League Baseball Games Be...
Should major league baseball games be shorter or longer? In my opinion they
should become shorter like 7 innings instead of 9. The average postseason game of
2016 was 3 в…• hours that is way too long in game 2 of the world series it lasted 4
hours and 4 minutes without going into extra innings. Rob Manfred the owner of the
MLB is aware of the trend of long games, he knows baseballs pace of game.
The MLB should make games shorter by making a rule where managers can make
pitching changes only 2 times an inning. Major league baseball is losing fans because
the game has way too many breaks if baseball was non stop action like soccer or
tennis the league would keep more fans. In 2015 the average major league baseball
game was 2 hours 56 minutes
31. The Imperfection Of Humans
When we look forward and anticipate the future through the means of science fiction,
it seems that contributing largely to our contemporary definition of human is our
imperfections. The very fact that we posses these imperfections is the reason that
writers imagine a future where those imperfections may be eliminated; knowing that
there is room for improvement drives humancuriosity and ingenuity forward. So
now we imagine a future where humans are perfect, ageless, precise. Would these
things really still be human or closer to real life cyborgs? Maybe this question is
too ethical, lacking in empirical evidence to give a non angled answer. But for
myself, what makes a human different from a machine is that we are not built off of
automatic judgments, we are not ageless, and we all carry collective, as well as our
own individual imperfections. For it is these imperfections that remind us that we
were not constructed in factories, but are rather shaped by our biology and given
environments. As humans, we do in fact posses many automatic functions, many of
which are linked to the autonomic nervous system which controls and regulates
bodily functions such as our heartbeats, blood circulation, and breathing patterns. As
Descartes puts it, Our own bodies can move without the guidance of volition. So in
this sense, the human body has a mechanical side to it, but when it comes to our
reasoning of the world, being creative, and solving problems, these are functions that
are not

and the depraved Man in the Yellow Suit, she matures, changes, and realizes what
life is about. This is trailed by an Epilogue, which takes care of all the potential issues
of the story and leaves the perused with the inclination that she, as well, has found the
genuine importance of life.

33. The Influence of Russian Communism on Women
Ukrainian, Elena Grigorievna Ponomarenko and Russian Vera Ivanovna Malakhova
shared one inevitable thing in common and that was the USSR, formally known as
the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. This spread of communism would take a
place in these women s lives affecting their ideology. Elena allowed communismto be
the foundation of her life, while Vera used to advance in the education system and
become a physician. Despite the views these women had on communism,
communism helped both Elena and Vera achieve their social status as well as
privileges. Elena Grigorievna Ponomarenko grew up the typical Ukrainian lifestyle,
fighting to make ends meet daily with the poverty crisis. Elena strived for self
discipline during the instability of the USSR. Despite the dispossession of the USSR,
she kept faith in communism and conformed in the era s communist practices by
having an interest in forming relations with the Pioneers, Komsomol s and then later
to the communist party. Communism had a plethora benefits that tailored her idea
lifestyle, but one stood out more than others and that was the sense of strict
discipline. These communist groups fulfilled her appetite for, iron discipline Elena
based her life upon (Vanderbeck134). As a member of the Komsomol, Elena
mentioned the consequences of insubordination which never the less led to
immediate expulsion of her membership with the communist community. Elena s
strong passion and hunger for discipline lead her higher in

Public spitting and urination, the blowing of the nose without the use of tissue paper,
as well as coughing and sneezing without covering one s mouth and face is common

they need to urinate or
35. Analysis Of Human Action And Interaction In The Knife
Thrower
Human action and reaction are heavily based on what we experience and how we
interoperate those experiences. The Knife Thrower is a short story written by Steven
Millhauser that focuses on three major concepts of human action and reaction. The
story follows an audience of people as they watch an anticipating show of a knife
thrower and his dangerous tricks. In the story, The Knife Thrower, Millhauser focuses
on three major concepts of humanaction; how humansact amongst a group of people,
how humans act when trust is built between two individuals, and how humans act
when they witness pain and death in regards to the human body. The first concept
that is focused on within this short storyis the way humans act when they are
amongst a group of people. When amongst a group of people, Millhauser s work
shows that humans are quick to follow each other and they create a herd mentality.
An important literary concept Millhauser uses to his advantage to express this is
the use of first person narration. Millhauser uses words such as we and us to group
together not only the audience s feelings and thoughts but also the readers. This is
done so strategically to present this first concept of how people herd together in
groups during times of hesitation. The first way this is shown is when the audience
has the opportunity to volunteer to receive the mark from the master (6). Everyone is
extremely hesitant and looking at each other for some sort of direction on how to
react. A

With the vast growth of industrialization way back in the 19 th century, concerns
came on how these industries and technologies were impacting on the social, cultural
and economic well being of the people. The negative effects got overlooked with
nobody to speak against them and protect livelihoods of the people. The federal
governmentlater then came up regulatory bodies to put industries on the check and
see that they provide quality services and products that are not harmful to the people.

Problems facing regulatory government supports deregulation. First, the cost in
regulatory jurisdictions is quite high. Regulated markets tend to offer fewer benefits
to society than free markets. Also, private sectors are self regulating by employing
independent external auditors whereas it is a general observation that lawsuits are an
incentive to provision quality services by firms. Regulation reforms enshrined in the
constitution monitor the legislation, executive and judicial structure of the regulatory
agencies as the government seeks to create and maintain a better working
environment in the society. Traditional managerial approach to governing
administration is characterized by red tape and bureaucratic one sided decision
making whereas the new public management approach focuses mainly on bilateral
decision making and is compliance oriented. Political strategies have transformed
from a self centered, corrupt inclusion in the agencies to a more open centered
approach that focuses on its citizens welfare, just as the legalistic approach focuses on
maintaining reasonability in the regulation process with keen observation of the rule

37. Jekyll And Mr Hyde Duality
First Essay Assignment: Stevenson s Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde The Strange Case of
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is mystery story which is written by Robert Louis
Stevenson. This story was written in 1885 and published in 5 January, 1886. This
story is accepted as the best novel of the Stevenson in Victorian Age.
Victorian Age was the brightest age of the England which was the period of the
reign of Queen Victoria. It started in 1837 and ended in 1901. At that time, poverty
in England was decreased and technologies were developed so much. However, in
Victorian England, there were no equality in the society and every person was
belonging to a different class. This inequality could not cast a cloud on this
victorious age but the Victorian Age, which was filled with a lot of contradictions
and conflicts, had been a great inspiration to many authors and poets in this era. In
this story, Stevenson also expressed the difference of social class. Also, through the
novel, Stevenson established a link between the urban landscape of Victorian London
and the dark events surrounding Hyde. He achieved his desired effect by using ...

Another common interpretation which we can see the novella s duality is the
representative of Scotland and the Scottish character. In this story, the duality also
represented the national and linguistic dualities inherent in Scotland s relationship
with the Britain and the English language, respectively, and the repressive effects of
the Church of Scotland on the Scottish character. A further parallel was also drawn
with the city of Edinburgh itself, which is Stevenson s birthplace. This consisted of
two distinct parts. One of the part was the old medieval period that was historically
inhabited by the poverty of city, where the dark and crowded slums were spread with
many types of crimes. Then, the other part was the modern Georgian area of wide
spacious streets which represented

Decades have passed and the debate continues. This discussion is not limited to fast
bowling but applies to general skill acquisition as a whole.
Most of the research related to fast bowling has focused on biomechanics and back
injury prevention and very limited work has been done with factors contributing to
bowling speeds. This limited amount mainly consists of theoretical papers, which
provide a synthesis of arguments from different papers rather than using a dataset to
deduce empirical evidence. The difficultly associated with conducting experiments
with a small sample size (limited number of bowlers) and a small number of
observations (few deliveries per bowler) may be the reason for the lack of research in
this area.
A fast bowler s training involves a lot more strength and conditioning than a batsman
or any other type of bowler. This highlights the fact that anthropometric factors are of
great significance to generating high bowling speeds. This research will attempt to
identify the most important anthropometric factors and how well those possibly
explain the difference(s) in bowling speeds. To date, little or no attempt has been
made to classify anthropometric factors vis Г vis fast bowlers as either genetic or
39. environmental. Furthermore, research has drawn a line between genetic and
environmental factors and has not considered the two as interdependent.

Modern culture and all throughout time books have majorly impacted
civilizations across the world with their influential and thought provoking words
and content known in schools. Opinions have spur the intellect of the young
creating many of the revolutionaries we have come to love and praise. Literature
has been an important aspect of human life. It is the way we keep records of past
events and it is the process in which we convey our feelings through pen and paper.
The practice of burning books has long stopped but everyday there are new
paperbacks being challenged and taken off shelves in schools or public libraries
deemed too inappropriate to showcase to children decided by a group of people. A
multitudinous of men and women have come to regard government as some sort of
liberator for censoring what they consider incorrect, while others view it as a corrupt
system that supports the idea of keeping the eyes of the world shut to the truth and
blinded to mankind s past and present mistakes. Censorshiphas always been
prevalent, it has let a small crowd of people dictate what the masses can or can t
see as well as what they can and can t read in schools. It is the suppression of
speech: the careful evaluation of each and every book and the censoring of
unacceptable parts. Censorship has been one of the world s most controversial
topics. It has been around since before 399 BCE and has affected societies in one
way or another. There are different forms of implementing

This was partly because the fact water enables better travel compared to going over

throughout the world with millions of people and cargo going in and out of ports
around the world at any given time. With the complex network of different
connections between coastal ports, rail, air, truck, and inland ports form the
foundation of economic wealth worldwide.

In return Europe would return high value, low density goods such as inks, linens, and
finished products that had a high return on investment. As the agricultural production
continued to grow to support the growing colonies the speed and low cost of
transporting goods by water influenced the locations of populations near waterways.
Goods produced at farms located inland they would be transported to the coast and
then transported to New York, Boston, and Philadelphia. The goods would then be
exported on large ocean going ships.
During the 1700s, the British government passed new laws in order to collect taxes
from the colonist. With the introduction of the Navigation Acts and the Stamp Act
of 1765 affected trade and these acts were strongly opposed by the colonist. The
Navigation Acts were a series of English Law that restricted the use of foreign
ships for trade between every country expect for England. The Stamp Act was an
act that imposed a direct tax on the colonies and required that many printed
materials be produced on stamped paper produced in London. League documents
such as magazines, playing cards, and newspapers where all taxed. In the fall of
1774 the Declarations and Resolves of the First Continental Congress called for a
stop in the importation of British goods. This became a big step towards the
American Revolutionary War. After the war America gained free rain in trade and

43. Analysis Of Lysistrata
In Aristophanes play Lysistrata, the plot is during the middle of the Peloponnesian
war. The title character Lysistrata, is a Athenian woman who has convened a
meeting with the women whose husbands are off fighting in the war. Lysistrata
arranges the meeting in order to propose a solution to ending the war which
includes the women withholding sex from their husbands. Initially, the women
don t like the idea of her plan but soon come to agree with her after realizing that it
may be the only way to get the men to stop fighting. All of the women then take an
oath and swear off sex until a peace treaty is signed. Lysistrata also plans to attack
and seize the nearby acropolis, which contains the Athenian treasury, in order to cut
off funding to the war. When the chorus of women go to the acropolis, they are met
by a chorus of men who have intentions of smoking the women out of it but the
women meet them with buckets of water. After multiple altercations with different
people in the men s chorus, one of the women s husbands shows up wanting to
have sex with his wife and she plays along with him, giving him the impression that
they re going to have sex but then soon runs back to the acropolis with the other
women. Upon their return, men from both the nearby cities as well as Sparta
realize that they have something in common: their wives are all withholding sex
from them and the conspiracy is international. Upon the realization of this, the men
decide to declare peace with one another and the story concludes with large
celebrations. A large portion of Aristophanes play relies heavily on the use of
women and sex in comedic ways. Aristophanes uses women to satirically undermine
the athenian government through the use of sexual comedy. Aristophanes portrays
women as irrational and lustful creatures. A large portion of the story relies heavily
on this idea as for it drives the idea as for it sets the tone for the mindset of the
women. The play begins with a misinterpretation between two characters, Calonice
and Lysistrata. Lysistrata arranges the meeting of women and Calonice is the first of
the women to show up. Calonice is curious as to why Lysistrata calls the meeting so
she then asks, CALONICE. Well, Lysistrata

Scurvy (a vitamin C deficiency) had plagued the world for multiple centuries until
actions were finally taken in attempt to find an antidote. Scurvy is a disease which
results from insufficient intake of vitamin C and leads to the spots on the skin,
spongy gums and bleeding from almost all mucous membranes. Vitamin C
deficiency and scurvy was hastened in the age of sail because of the rigorous
working conditions for sailors. The diet of sailors during the age of sail was
obviously the main factor in the plight of scurvy. As VitaminC cannot be produced
internally by humans, it must be ingested through the diet. By examining the history
of vitamin C, one can fully appreciate the advances made in its research. Surprisingly,

45. The Reality Of Television Programs
Today s television programs are very different from the television programs that
were shown over fifty years ago. The shows in the past portrayed a modest
conservative family. These families consist of a hardworking man and a stay at
home woman, married raising their own biological children. As the years went by,
television has started to portray a more liberal definition of what a familymeans in
today s world. Because of today s TV shows, there are different ideas about what a
family should look like.
Families on TV are not always a married couple containing one man and one woman
raising their own children. We now have many shows that support gay rights when it
comes to marriage and being parents. The hit comedy Modern Family has the
funny loveable characters of Mitchell and Cameron. They adopted a baby girl from
Vietnam. The series also shows the wedding between the two men, as well as the
comical outcomes when they try to raise their daughter the best way possible. As
Greg Graffin wrote in his article Anarchy in the Tenth Grade It is also a shining
example of how easy it is to follow the party line and champion a bandwagon
mentality which only motivates me to keep fighting for originality. (3) This is seen
on the show The Fosters , a girl named Callie is placed in a foster home with a
lesbian couple and their other adopted children. On this show the couple showed
more love and support than the previous foster homes she was placed in, that

Between 1750 and 1950 the way in which the poor and poverty was perceived by
society was changing. Consequently, it was during this period that concerns began to
flourish with regards to pauperism, and what should be done about it. The poor law,
which had been put in place during the sixteenth century by Elizabeth 1 was
becoming outdated and expensive. What s more, many of the upper classes thought
of the poor law as providing too much relief to the impoverished. At the same time
philanthropy, that is the desire to help others, especially through the donation of
money to good causes was becoming extremely popular within the upper classes.
Subsequently, over the period studied many changes came into being, such as
changes in the poor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These changes came about as a direct response to the rising numbers of paupers and
pauperism. The poor laws, which consisted of outdoor relief, the workhouse and
parish responsibility for the locally born, required contradictory responses to poverty:
succour and repression, alms and forced labour. These dual directives which were
implemented by church wardens and several of the substantial householders who
served as overseers of the poor were a burden on both administrators and paupers
alike who had to decide which person would be given relief, and the type of relief
given. In addition, the poor law, which had been put in place during the sixteenth
century by Elizabeth 1 was becoming outdated and expensive, as rising numbers of
paupers were too great to maintain this as a viable option for the relief of poverty.
By this time the poor rate accounted for one fifth of the national expenditure by 1830.
This led to sustained call for a more centralised and uniform system which brought
about the Poor Law Amendment Act of
47. Ellen Dunham-Jones s Essay Seventy-Five Percent
In today s society the landscape of the city is constantly changing to accommodate for
technological innovations, greater populations, and economic opportunity. As the
skyline of cities across America are changing at a rate faster than ever seen before,
one immense community is being left in the dust. The suburbs of America have
refused to change, allowing a great resemblance of what they looked like 50 years
ago. The stubbornness of the suburbs to change has led to many issues economically
and environmentally. In her essay, Seventy Five Percent , Ellen Dunham Jones puts
forth that 75% of construction in the past decade occurs in the suburban landscape.
Yet, in today s society much of the architectural community contains a strong bias
against the suburbs. However, with over half the country s... Show more content on

There are many who suggest the solution to the decline of the suburbs is to urbanize
the area by densifying and overall making the suburbs more similar to a city. Laura
Vaughan argues that the development of a spatial layout similar to that of a city
would help the suburbs to become more efficient socially and economically.
However, this approach directly contrasts the purpose of the suburbs, which was
originally meant to provide a private, quiet environment for single family homes
away from loud and busy city life. In his book, Sprawl: A Compact History, Robert
Bruegmann explains that suburbia is not a bad thing but possesses benefits that urban
planners fail to recognize and is a natural process of the growth of urbanism. While
the suburban landscape does possess much potential, those who support the continued
existence of the suburbs as they exist are naive and fail to recognize the
environmental, social, and economical impact that the suburbs impose. The suburbs
possess many social and political issues that need to be addressed. There is no doubt
that there is massive potential in the suburban
48. Howl s Moving Castle Essay
I ve decided to study and go into depth with the opening scene of Howl s moving
castle. Hayao Miyazaki the director of the film has created this animation film with
many star characters such as Sophie the young innocent girl who begins to admire
Howl, Howl the powerful the wizard, witch of the waste the evil witch, Calcifer the
powerful fire, and many other outstanding characters. This scene is very important
because Sophie and Howl meet each other for the first time. The 4 main techniques
that i m going to focus on are facial expression, sound effects, musicand body
language.
One of the main purposes of this seen is to make the audience feel the connection that
Howl and Sophie share. Another main purpose is to go into depth with how the ...

Miyazaki uses Music to embrace what the characters are doing, to make the
audience feel more interested in the film. At the beginning of the opening scene
Sophie is seen walking through the parade to go visit her sister. The Music is very
loud, showing that the parade is marching for joy. Sophie then begins to walk
down a dark, peaceful, mysterious alleyway. The music becomes very quiet. The
lack of music is telling the audience that something is going to happen to Sophie.
As speaking as a viewer of the film I feel very scared for Sophie as she walks down
this specific alleyway. The lighting and music becomes a lot dimmer. The music
seems very quiet but it changes into a very magical and peaceful sound when Sophie
and Howl meet for the first time, this particular sound that is introduced links to the
key theme love and bonds. The music changes when a meaningful scene is played,
when something s going to happen. Another part of the scene that has really
brought to my attention is when Howl begins to fly away from the evil glumps.
Half way through the opening scene,Sophie is being escorted to the bakery by
Howl. Suddenly the music changes into a very dramatic and scary sound. This
change of music is telling us that something worth wild is going to happen or
someone s in danger. In this situation Howl is in danger! Sophie and Howl run as
fast as they can through the dark alley way away from the evil glumps. Howl and
Sophie appear to be trapped with glumps behind them and glumps in front of them.
The sound is getting louder and louder. Howl leaps up into the air and starts to fly.
Sophie is very surprised as she thought Howl was just like her but no, he s a wizard.
The key theme identity has been shown when Sophie sees Howl as a human but then
he suddenly leaps up into the air. Howls identity has completely changed, human to a

Different Hues of Darkness
At first glance, Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar Allen Poe may appear as though
they are two birds of a feather. Their stories are often dark and dismal, and an
enduring despair runs through the tales as a common thread. However, their
inspirations originate from opposite ends of the spectrum. Hawthorne s works are the
offspring of legalistic Puritan values and beliefs; on the other hand, Poe s stories
reflect godlessness. While the characters of both authors often face a grim
destination, the writers show through their unique styles that the path to hopelessness
can take many different routes.
These contrasting motivations first surface in the authors tones. Hawthorne s solemn
words hearken to the Puritan mantra of stringent moral standards and the belief of a
wicked world. In Young Goodman Brown, the protagonist learns about the evil
concealed in the hearts of people he reveres. In the same way Brown s exposure
robs him of hope and joy, Hawthorne s themes of evil s pervasiveness rob his stories
of optimism. His disheartening opinion of humanity s state echoes Puritan beliefs,
and because of the prevalence of this belief in his stories, his tales are melancholy by
necessity. In contrast to the stern Puritan perspective, Poe s tone most resembles
Gothic Romanticism. Eerie settings such as the abbey in Ligeia exemplify this
melancholy style. Poe describes the abbey as having gloomy and
50. Werner Heisenberg s Influence On The World Of Physics
Germany is a country that is filled with the most fascinating inventions that change
the views of those in the world. Multiple physicist have embarked on the creation of
these inventions that were created through multiple theories. Those like the air bag,
aspirin, and the automobile were all invented by german inventors throughout
theories that involved physics. These inventions pushed the world s knowledge to
create new age technology that we all are dependent on. Werner Heisenbergwas a
major influence to the world of Physics since the beginning of his childhood to the
cease of his existence.
To starts with, Werner Heisenberg was born on December 5,1901 in WИ•rzburg,
Germany. This became the year of urban population growth that included ... Show

Martin Heisenberg became a researcher. During his times as a researcher, he had
studied and developed multiple theories on the human body describing every piece
of the human body right down to the cells that make up every living organism.
Martin Heisenberg had earned the roles as neurobiologist and geneticist before his
retirement in 2008. A year before Martin Heisenberg was born, Jochen Heisenberg
was welcomed into the family of the Heisenbergs. During his times as a child, he
had also been greatly inspired by his father, Werner Heisenberg, and pursued the
occupation of being a Physicist. Specializing in nuclear physics, Jochen studied
multiple points in the make up of atoms. As described in a Nuclear Science and
Engineering course specifically Applied Nuclear Physics It covers basic properties of
the nucleus and nuclear radiations; quantum mechanical calculations of deuteron
bound state wave function and energy; n p scattering cross section; transition
probability per unit time and barrier transmission probability. It also covers binding
energy and nuclear stability; interactions of charged particles, neutrons, and gamma
rays with matter; radioactive decays; and energetics and general cross section
behavior in nuclear reactions . During this time, Jochen Heisenberg was able to study
the life of nuclear material and waves that may be a catastrophic essential that we can
use for future energy uses like powering water flow, our homes, cities, maybe even a
whole planet. Furthermore, major theories and achievements may not have been
accomplished without the work of Werner

2. Theory of International Trade
This paper aims to determine the benefits and consequences for Brazil in signing a
free trade agreement (FTA) with the United States through examining the problems in
the bilateral relation. Before going deeper into the specific situation between trade
relations between both countries, it is vital to understand why free trade matters. The
topic of free trade has been an ongoing and growing discussion over the last
decades. With the rapid growth of globalization, this topic is relevant in the majority
of countries around the world. Because of this, trade is a pertinent issue, particularly
in major economic powers as both Brazil and the United States are. The purpose of
this chapter is to explain the theory of trade and the benefits and consequences that it
provides countries that have open markets To do this, I will describe the theory of
comparative advantage, the Heckscher Ohlin (H O) model which provides a theory
on the gains and benefits of trade as well as the distributive effects that trade has on
the income of individuals in each country.
First, it is important to understand the theory of trade and its benefits. Despite the
growing popularity of the concept of free trade since the end of the 20th century, its
roots go back to classical economists. In his book, On the Principles of Political
Economy and Taxation, David Ricardo (1821) states:
Under a system of perfectly free commerce, each country naturally devotes its capital
and labour
52. Is Private Property A Natural Right Essay
Is private property a natural right? Yes I consider private property a natural right.
Private plays a big role within natural rights. Many philosophers including Locke,
Marx and Rawls each had their position on private property. This leads to the
question: what is private property? You can t just give one definition because as I
said before, many philosophers has different positions about private propertyon
natural rights. If I had to define private property, I would say it is any property that is
not public property, and maybe under the control of a group or a single individual. It
is like a claim to something that excludes others from having that same privilege. The
one philosopher I will talk about is John Locke. John Locke s position on private
property being a natural right is really different from... Show more content on

Locke makes the argument that when god created the world for man, he gave man a
reason to make use of the world to the best advantage of life and convenience. What
he means by that is, that god made this world for man, and he made it he gave man
the right to use that what is in this world to his benefit. Locke explains that every
man has property in his own person, and that nobody has any right to that property
but that person. The author states that whatsoever then he removes out of the state of
nature hath provided, and left it in, he hath mixed his labor with, and joined to it
something that is his own, and thereby makes it his property (Locke). What Locke
means by that statement is that once a person remove something out of its original
state of nature that something becomes that person s property. After someone gains
this property are there any limitations on that property? Locke believes that that there
are limitations on that property. Locke believes that god has given us all things
richly, and that man may use those things as long as he takes what he needs.
53. Differences Between Defence And Offense
In every game that people play whether it s chess, basketball or football, the players
or teams need offense and defense. Not every person s mind thinks in an offensive
style and not every person thinks defensively. The way you play games is entirely up
to you. Many people don t even realize the major differences that tend to come out in
these styles but the subtle similarities. The basic structure of many games starts with
defenseand offense, then comes all the rules. The major difference in defence and
offense is the pace of the player. Offense is typically a more aggressive strategy.
Fast paced moves with the hopes of making their opponent panic and make silly
mistakes. Many defensive players take their time and instead of forcing mistakes they
try to let the other player make them on their own. Once they make too many
mistakes they add up and the gameis usually lost. Also on defense you have the
option to counter the attacker because they have to make the first move. In some
sports these most common... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They both require the same amount of thinking but the paths of thought process is
completely different. Defense has the goal to shut down, whereas offense would like
to demoralize their opponent by simply outscoring them making them believe they
won t be able to keep up. An example would be chess you must protect your king at
all costs but you could just try to take the other players key pieces making it tough
for them to comeback. Or you can defend until the attack with a key piece like the
queen the take it out. Once you defend enough you will have to attempt a move on
the king. Just like when you keep attacking at some point it may be wise to take
repercussions to defend. In sports like football after you have a turnover and the
ball is on offense you need to be capable of capitalizing and at least get a field goal.
Offense and defense go hand in hand even though they are polar
