A Summary Of Gram-Negative Bacteria
Introduction
Every winter the snow falls, and people get sick. Both of these items have components in common.
Both the snow that falls, and the bacteria that gets people sick may be small, but when allowed to
accumulate, characteristics of them become visible. While snow is made from frozen water, with
flakes differentiating in the structure of them, bacteria is like that, to a sense. Certain bacteria families
may have similar genomes, they do have slight differences that make up what they are. Just like snow
being made of frozen water, bacteria is made up of the same four genomes. They re just in a different
order, which makes them unique
One way to tell the difference is to see if the bacteria is gram positive or gram negative. Gram Positive
bacteria contains peptidoglycan (which is a polymer of amino acids and sugars), while Gram Negative
Bacteria does not have as much. (Holbrook, 24)
Because Gram Positive contain peptidoglycan, they do not form string in the KOH test. The opposite
is true for Gram Negative it will form a string due to its chemical makeup. The Gram Positive bacteria
uses the peptidoglycan to act as a wall, so the KOH will not react with it. However, the cell membrane
on the Gram Negative bacteria reacts with the KOH, which creates a slight polar charge on the
bacteria, which causes it to form a string. If too much force was added by pulling on the toothpick,
this causes the string to break. Therefore, when applying the KOH string test, one must be

Developmental Theories and How They Relate to Real Life...
Developmental Theories
There are many theories on how a human develops. Most babies follow a certain pattern of
development but the controversy is which person s developmental pattern of development is correct?
Erik Erickson, Sigmund Freud and Jean Piaget s developmental theories are similar. Each of the
theories goes through a human s development chronologically, giving a guideline of when certain
developments happen. For example when a child is supposed to walk or when a child is going to
speak. It is only a guideline and these theories are not supposed to be held too strictly.
Sigmund Freud s developmental theory was his psychosexual stages of development. His stages were:

Guilt is the stage where a developing child must be active in their environment. The ages of this stage

where a child develops competence. The ages for this stage are 6 11 years old. These are the school
years of a child s life. Ego Identity Vs. Role Confusion is the stage where a child is in their adolescent
years. The ages of this stage are 12 18 years old. The teenager is going through puberty and is noticing
members of the opposite sex. Intimacy Vs. Isolation is the stage where the person is trying to find a

Stagnation is the stage where the now adult is working and they want to be a mentor for other
children. the ages in this stage are 25 64 years old. The last stage of Erickson s theory is Ego Integrity

and have lived. The ages of this last stage are from 65 death.

Computer Input Technologies By Alan Turing
Computer Input Technologies
Introduction The interaction between humans and the machine is a relatively new science. When
considering how the inputs to a computer started out, it is interesting to observe just how little has
changed. For example, the QWERTY keyboard as part of the typewriter invented in the 1870s(2) far
predates the concept of the modern digital computer as described by Alan Turing in 1936(3). Our tools
to interact with our own machines have however been refined to be more convenient for the average
user with interfaces such as optimised USB and layout studied for ergonomy. In recent years, input
technologies have not only been improved but brand new ones have emerged like motion control for
example. The future is bright ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, trackballs are still quite common as scrollwheels in computer mouse devices.
Interestingly, the invention of the computer ball mouse in 1968 sprang directly from the invention of
the trackball. In a sense, the ball mouse is a reversed version of the same device. The trackball rolls on
the surface instead of the user s hands, however the tracking operates in the same way(1). This
innovation in existing technology meant that the handheld type design would later be upgraded as
newer technologies took its place. Today, the ball mouse has been largely replaced by the optical and
laser mouse. These types of mouse devices use LEDs to emit light onto the surface on which it sits,
the reflected light is analysed by a set of photodiodes. Whether the mouse is laser or not depends on if
the LEDs emit coherent light (laser) or not (optical). The main drawback of the optical mouse is that
they only function on opaque and matte surfaces as they depend on the light reflecting the surfaces
imperfections. The precision however is much improved from the ball mouse. Furthermore, less
moving parts means more durability. The mouse really opened up the horizon for user interface
navigation making it a key turning point in the history of input technologies.
The Keyboard
The keyboard has been for decades the main textual input device. In terms

The Book Flapper by Joshua Zeitz
Flapper by Joshua Zeitz is a book that tells an epic story about the American women during the time
of the 1920 s. For a better understanding, a flapper would typically be a young girl who blurred the
gender roles by taking on a more masculine lifestyle. They wore their hair short, drank and smoked
frequently, and explored their sexuality. With this behavior, it didn t destroy their femininity; it just
simply provided the society s perception of what a woman should and should not be.
The story starts off with a hopelessly romantic side. It all begins by learning about a seventeen year
old girl named Zelda and a First Lieutenant named Francis Scott Fitzgerald who is known to who they
became to be in modern day history. Zelda can be classified as a wild child. Her summer tan gave her
skin the color of a rose petal, her hair was gold, and her eyes seemed to change color with her
prismatic moods. Scott Fitzgerald was an individual who spent four years at Princeton without earning
his undergraduate degree. He gave little contribution to classroom discussions, and was lazy in all
things but reading and writing. In this novel, Joshua Zeitz is able to educate the readers on the
becoming of new women in America. Zeitz is also able to inform the readers on the evolution and
growth of the liberties associated with the new American women. As one of the themes in the first
section of the book, Zeitz develops a concept by discussing and analyzing the life of CoCo Chanel.

New Hampshire Primaries Analysis
In the New Hampshire primaries, many candidates in both Democratic and Republican categories. The
candidates who do not follow the political views society deems as better rose to the occasion of
winning the votes in both categories. The intense primaries depicted strengths and weaknesses in all
candidates and the immediate decision for its representatives Trump and Sanders. Two main points
that were arguably the most eye catching was the clear win of Sanders against Hillary and the
shocking results in the runner ups of the Republican party. In the Democratic results of the New
Hampshire primaries, Bernie Sanders s win against Hillary Clinton was although well predicted, still a
surprising win. Throughout this entire campaign trail, many people believed Hillary was a straight win

Even though Trump s win is a bit of a scare to some in America and the Republican party, what really
stood out in this party s primary was the runner ups following Trump s clear win. Many had thought
Republican candidate Cruz would be second runner up, but shockingly other candidate John Kasich
followed Trump with 16% in the vote. Throughout the rest of the primaries, candidates Bush and Cruz
had been a battle for third place with both having 11%, while Rubio had trailed in at 9%. Although
Cruz and Rubio s failure had been a bit predicted, no one would have predicted the first runner up to
be not too talked about candidate Kasich. It seemingly similar to the Democratic candidate Sanders
who at first everyone thought would not succeed in these presidential campaigns, but winds up
winning the hearts of many Americans. The close race between the two went on for a couple hours,
slowly rising and falling in the percentiles for Bush and Cruz. Once all the votes were in, the clear
winner in third place of the primaries was Bush with 17%, Cruz at 12%, and Rubio at

Stereotypes At A Department Store
If you look at a department store, it is broken up into different sections based on age and gender. Most
department stores are divided into women s, men s, boys, girls, juniors, toddlers, infants, etc. Within
each specific section, there is a particular vocabulary used in reference to certain articles of clothing,
and gender plays a huge part in that. For example, Certain words may appear in the women s clothing
section that would never appear in the men s section and vise versa. In America, the words skirt or
dress will never appear in the men s section of a department store. That is because society only
recognizes skirts and dresses as a female clothing item. This is probably the easiest concept to
understand when connecting language

Stereotypes In Dracula
Why is society obsessed with teaching women what and whatnot to do? It could be the way that
society teaches women, telling them they are not valued as much as men. Men view women across the
nations as property . They claim that women are weak and stupid; therefore, men treat women as if
they are higher than women. Bram Stoker s Dracula conveys the reality of Victorian, and today s
society s prejudice toward the values of women by acknowledging only a woman s wrongs, and how
New Women overcomes it. For example, in Dracula, Bram Stoker is aware of the stereotypes in the
Victorian era; he decides to make two different aspirations and social life of the Victorian era.
Stereotypes are ideas created by society that oversimplifies an image/ idea ... Show more content on

In this time period, men believed they were superior to women because women did not have jobs. For
example, in Dracula, when Jonathan Harker sleeps in a room that Dracula did not assign him, he is
trapped with three women in the parlor, and he believes he is going to die. At least God s mercy is
better than that of these monsters.... At its foot a man may sleep as a man (Stoker 57). Perhaps,
Jonathan believes that if the three women victimize him, it would make him less of a man that he is.
Another example is the mention of the New Women when Lucy and Mina were going a walk: I
believe we should have shocked the New Woman with our appetites (96). Without worrying bout
being prim and proper, they were hungry enough, they did not care about the rules in the Victorian
times. This started the rebellion of the New Woman . Stoker was familiar with feminist movement,
growing up around strong women. Though Stoker was hostile towards women and the idea of the New
Women , people confused him to be feminist because of the two contrasting women in the story: the
Victorian example [Mina], and the angel that turned into a vampire. In the end, the women mentioned
in the novel were either vampires, turned into a vampire, or end up dead. Even if he did not like
women in general, he creates a New Woman , Mina Harker. In Carol A Senf s essay, Dracula: Stoker s

The Effective Management Of Water Quantity Is An Urgent...
Humans demand the need for the worlds freshwater supplies to be cultivated as the global population
upsurges. With water being one of the most important natural resources, once flowing freely in
abundance, it is beginning to become a highly valued commodity due to overuse, droughts, irrigation
and damming and reduced water quality. Water management is the administration of water resourced
under thorough policies and regulations that ensure a sustainable supply of water for present and
future generations. Australia has the lowest rainfall of all the inhabited continents as well as the least
river water, the smallest area of permanent wetlands and freshwater lakes. Coupled with the highest
levels of water consumption in the world, it is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Collectively, these are fundamental decisions in which we can improve upon the way we utilise water
as a resource. Individuals, by implementing these decisions, are addressing the issue of water
conservation through the reduction of water use, reducing water pollution and health risks whilst
educating themselves about matters that affect their water supplies (Bliss and Paine, 2010).
Consequently, individuals have been involved in the decision making process, in order to address the
issue of Water management. This is evident through the measures Australian individuals take to ensure
sustainability.
The effective management of water quantity is an urgent issue facing Australia. Therefore, in
response, various groups have been involved in the decision making process addressing the issue.
Supplying Sydney with fresh, abundant and high in quality water is a significant geographical issue. A
range of organisations have the responsibility for water management and addressing the issues that
come along with it. Different groups target different issues such as the quality, quantity, recycling the
water, conserving it and educating communities about the issue. Various groups that have been
involved in the decision making process include The Australian Water Association, Water Group,

The Effect Of Shallow And Deep Levels Of Processing On...
Abstract
This was a study conducted at IUP on undergraduate students to see if processing information at
certain levels would improve memory recall. During the study, we presented the participants with a
PowerPoint of information on a made up country. The participants was randomly assigned to a
shallow, medium, or deep processing instruction, which explained to them how to take notes
throughout the presentation. After, students recieved a distractor task for 15 minutes, and after given a
multiple choice test on the information showed on the slides. The results showed that there was no
significant difference between note taking instructions and the number of correct answers. All three
task instructions in the study showed similar means on the recall test.
Effects of Shallow to Deep Levels of Processing on Memory Recall
Sources
Craik and Lockhart (1972) conducted a study where they first introduced the theory of depth of
processing, also known as levels on processing. They said that memory processing had levels ranging
from shallow to deep. They said that people processed words at a shallow, moderate or deep level.
Shallow processing, also known as structural encoding, is when physical features of the information is
analyzed. They found that information is usually forgotten because the processing does not involve
meaning, so it creates memory that is weak, resulting in information being harder to retrieve. One way
to define moderate processing, also known as

D to be the lowest molarity of 0.0 moles because the potatoes that were immersed in this solution had
the highest average percent increase in mass of 23.08%. Since there is a small amount of sugar in the
potato cores and the potato cores gained a large amount of mass, that must mean that there was a
higher concentration of water or a hypotonic solution outside the potato cores because the water
osmosed from high water concentration into low water concentration. Since the potato cores gained

The solution outside the cores must have been hypertonic and inside must have been hypotonic,
causing the water to osmose out of the cores. I knew there must have been more sucrose than solution
A because there decrease was greater, meaning that the outside solution was more hypertonic, causing
more water to need to leave the core to create an isotonic environment. I determined that solution E
contained 0.8 moles of sucrose because the cores immersed in it had the next largest decrease in mass.
This shows that the solution must have been even more concentrated or hypertonic causing more
water to leave to create an isotonic environment. I determined that solution B contained the largest
amount of sucrose with 1.0 moles. This was because the cores immersed in it had the largest decrease,
which means that the solution outside of the core must have been the most hypertonic which means it
must have had the most amount of sucrose. I knew this because the most water left these potato cores
which means that the solution outside must have been the most hypertonic and needing the most water

Martin Luther Characterize Paul s Letter To Believers In Rome
Martin Luther (1483 1546), Paul and his thought are at the very heart of the Christian theological
enterprise. Thus, Luther wrote that Paul s letter to believers in Rome is in truth the most important
document in the New Testament, the gospel in its purest expression. . . . It is the soul s daily bread,
and can never be read too often, or studied too much. . . . It is a brilliant light, almost enough to
illumine the whole Bible. This is how I feel when I read about Paul and his writings.
Paul has traditionally been portrayed as having converted from Judaism to Christianity, and thus as
both the original apostate and a threat to the Jewish people and to Judaism (Jant, 551). Paul s
conversion was not the conversion of a terrible sinner from

Relationship Between Mother And Infant
Introduction The relationship between mother and infant is extraordinary. A lot of research has been
done to test the social stresses on dyadic synchrony on mothers and infants as well as toddlers and pre
teens. This article extends on previous research on FFSF exposures by observing not only the social
interactions of the mother and infant from face face interactions but also by still face pictures. Also,
assessing the infant s interactive style, the mother s behavior and dyadic synchrony in observing the
responses to the two FFSF exposures 15 minutes apart. This research is relevant to the neuro field, and

Infant s Response to the First Social Stress, Predicting Infant s Response to the Repeated Social
Stress, Discussion, Conclusion, References). The methods were only slightly modified from the
previous experiment. The mothers and infant s were exposed twice to the FFSF, 15 days apart and in
two minute episode (play, still face, reunion). The episodes were filmed by two cameras, one on the
mother and one on the infant.

1. Social location is the idea that a groups members belong in the group because of their place or
position in society, past and present. All people have a distinct social location that is defined by their

Membership within each group brings forth a certain set of social roles and rules, power, and privilege
(or lack of), which heavily influence a person s identity and how they see the world. 2. A social

The social problem I decided to explain was the growing rate of simple and complex terrorist attacks
in developed countries. In the past few years we ve seen a significant spike in the rise of terrorist
attacks in the United States and it allies and its causing a major social problem. Whether it be a
bombing or just driving a van through a crowd of people, these attacks effect people in multiple ways.
One of the main ways is that it causes people to be afraid to go outside and socialize which causes a
disconnect between the population. Another way is that it cause the citizens to mistrust the
government, because it is supposed to keeping them safe and a terror attack being successfully carried
out means the government failed at its job. There are many ways this could be fixed, but the problem
is that a lot of Americans aren t willing to do them because they involve giving up certain amounts of
freedom. By this I mean allowing the government to look at digital data on people as well as
conversations to attempt to stop attacks before the begin. Another way is to give the police and other
feral law enforcement agencies more power to arrest or detain terrorist suspects. This issue is one that
a lot of people are currently trying to come up with solutions to, and I think it will take a while before
we are able to come to one clear way to deal with this

magnesium ribbon reaction in hydrochloric acid.
Background Information The rate of reaction is a term that relates to the speed at which the reaction
occurs. This is the speed that the magnesium ribbon will take to dissolve in each test tube. The time
that the magnesium ribbon takes to dissolve will probably be different as there are different amounts
of hydrochloric acid in each tube. Exothermic is the term that refers to the temperature that develops
from the magnesium ribbon dissolving in the hydrochloric acid. The temperature varies depending on

Queen Anne s Revenge Essay
Swoosh! Splash! Swish! A pirate ship sails through the salty ocean. Three pirate ships sail across the
same deep glimmering marine. They all meet around the cove, but they all get ready for rivalry. One
ship starts dismissing their cannons at their enemies. Just then, the other two ships began to sail away,
but one cannonball proceeded towards one ship, and struck the ship leaving it to sink. Pirates used
ships to get to their destination, and to be ready for their enemies. First of all, the Queen Anne s
Revenge was one of the most famous pirate ship. The Queen Anne s Revenge was originally a French
owned slave ship. The ship first name was La Concorde De Nantes. It was found in 1996.
Furthermore, the ship had 26 guns, and was captured from the French merchants. Queen Anne s
Revenge was one of the most powerful ships in American waters. The name Queen Anne s Revenge
comes from Queen Anne, who was one of the principal actors in the War of the Spanish Succession in
which Blackbeard was likely a privateer. On the other hand, the ship can store more than 300 tons

As is well known, volunteering is an extremely significant component of our community. Along the
same lines, utilizing volunteers plays a critical role at the agency level in increasing ability of the

Essay Paul of Tarsus

The Second Most Important Man Towards Christianity
Question:
Analyse the contribution that Paul of Tarsus had on the development and expression of Christianity.
Paul of Tarsus or Saint Paul is considered by many Christians today to be the most important disciple
of Jesus, and beside this the second important found in the development of Christianity. Saint Paul had
a major impact on the spread of Christianity, contributing to the underlying unity of the religious
tradition by helping expand Jesus original teachings into a developed integrated belief system.

He became an advocate for the inclusion of the Gentiles among the true followers of Christianity.
Until Paul s challenge, Jewish Christians believed that non Jews had to convert to Judaism and follow
the law, which included restrictions and circumcision. Gentiles who worship in the synagogue but did
not become proselytes were called god fearers and were only second class citizens in the synagogue.
As the Gentiles did not follow kashruth, many Christian Jews refused to eat with Christian Gentiles,
believing them to be unclean and not acceptable. This had implications for church fellowship and for
the ritual celebration of the Lord s Supper. Paul challenged this belief, (Galatians 2: 11 14) most
strongly at the Council of Jerusalem in 50 CE. This lead to the decision by the early Christian leaders
to enable Gentiles as well as Jews to be followers of Jesus of Nazareth and to call themselves
Christians.
Permitting freedom from the laws of kashruth and circumcision allowed Christianity to spread more
freely amongst the Gentiles and is why Paul is so significant today. (Christianity vs. Judaism
worksheet).
Paul s writings on social issues were just as influential on the life and beliefs of the Christian culture,
and are still considered part and parcel of the broader Christian doctrine by the more conservative
Christians.

No On Traveling To Mars
Since the beginning of time, people have been curious, and are always trying to explore. But now it is
2017, and we have to understand what we should do and what we shouldn t do. People today have a
good idea about the hazards of space travel and know the consequences space travel can have for
people. And after considering Andy Weir s statement regarding travel to Mars, I am of the opinion that
we as a nation should not fund a manned mission to Mars in the near future because it will be very
expensive, we have a larger need to explore places here on Earth, and it purposes a large danger to the
people traveling in space.

Robinson Crusoe Typography Essay
1. Introduction
As one of the big literary successes in the early eighteenth century England and the first English realist
novel (Fabricant 742, Hammond 20), Daniel Defoe s Robinson Crusoe, published in 1719, still
fascinates such literary scholars and critics as, for example, Hammond and Richetti. Among other
topics, they have studied its style, problematics, themes, characters and plot. At the same time, the
novel s formal features such as typography have been insufficiently explored. Therefore, this paper
focuses on one of the typographical elements of the text, namely on the use of italics in it.

In other words, the literary works could be changed, abridged or altered in some other way without
their author s having the say. There was an attempt in 1710 to change/improve the situation when A
Copyright Act introduced limited copyright: after certain time being in print, the copyright remained
with the author, if living (Raven 23). In reality though, most authors continued surrendering all claims
to their works (Raven 24). As a consequence, until 1774, booksellers remained the ones retaining the
authority over the printing process and print industry (Pritchard 308), buying wholly and completely
the right to reproduce a literary work (Raven 23). In other words, the concept of copyright as a
representation of authorial ownership of intellectual property did not prevail until the ... early 19th
centuries (Finkelstein 71).
As a result, writers largely remained pawns in the literary marketplace (Raven 15): they neither
exercised any authority over their books, nor gained substantial financial gain. Only a famous few
gained fortunes from their books (Raven 15). In such a way, it appears quite problematic to discuss
eighteenth century typography as an exclusive responsibility of the author (Bray 106). Although it

Wiesel Vs Vilkas
War loves to seek its victims in the young, Sophocles. When you read the novels Night, by Elie
Wiesel, and Between Shades of Gray, by Ruta Sepetys, you may ponder and realize the true meaning
of that quote. Eluding the fact that the children weren t targeted directly, wars and disputes between
countries, or in a country itself, can tear up every citizen in said location. Although the stories of Elie
Wiesel and Lina Vilkas are similar in the pain they endured, there were some differences such as: the
camps in which they were relocated, the reason they were both sent away, and the people they were
left to be with in the camps, as well as their purpose there.
As stated earlier, Wiesel and Vilkas have gone through some of the same pains.

Humanitarian space has two facets one physical and the other one virtual. Physically, humanitarian
space is defined by a neutral area where persecute people are given security and provided with

the network of law created to give rights at an international level to people victims of intolerance and

used to manufacture goods in factories with working conditions which dropped to such an extent as to
increasing their working hours to 16 hours a day with one forty minute break, demonstrated not only
the necessity of such labor, which eventually profits into the factories financial system, but the further
impact of the lives of these children who were desperate for minimalistics wages. Soon, the lives of
these children were dependant on these second rate conditions of these factories, and as they were
often exposed to hazardous chemicals and dangerous machinery, these conditions began to raise
important questions towards the end of the revolution. The only things which were helping these
workers was the natural outcomes of this period as everything was affordable because everything was

not show repentance or debarred heresy, and shows no devotion to the cause of reconciliation.
Even though the principal language used throughout the crusades was Latin, the context of it was used
in a multitude of ways. The broad applicability of Latin was used because it was the official language
of the Roman church. The Church was the main source of education and therefore created a web of
writings, textbooks, and biblical translations which allowed much of Europe and Asia Minor to

  • 2. A Summary Of Gram-Negative Bacteria Introduction Every winter the snow falls, and people get sick. Both of these items have components in common. Both the snow that falls, and the bacteria that gets people sick may be small, but when allowed to accumulate, characteristics of them become visible. While snow is made from frozen water, with flakes differentiating in the structure of them, bacteria is like that, to a sense. Certain bacteria families may have similar genomes, they do have slight differences that make up what they are. Just like snow being made of frozen water, bacteria is made up of the same four genomes. They re just in a different order, which makes them unique One way to tell the difference is to see if the bacteria is gram positive or gram negative. Gram Positive bacteria contains peptidoglycan (which is a polymer of amino acids and sugars), while Gram Negative Bacteria does not have as much. (Holbrook, 24) Because Gram Positive contain peptidoglycan, they do not form string in the KOH test. The opposite is true for Gram Negative it will form a string due to its chemical makeup. The Gram Positive bacteria uses the peptidoglycan to act as a wall, so the KOH will not react with it. However, the cell membrane on the Gram Negative bacteria reacts with the KOH, which creates a slight polar charge on the bacteria, which causes it to form a string. If too much force was added by pulling on the toothpick, this causes the string to break. Therefore, when applying the KOH string test, one must be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Developmental Theories and How They Relate to Real Life... Developmental Theories There are many theories on how a human develops. Most babies follow a certain pattern of development but the controversy is which person s developmental pattern of development is correct? Erik Erickson, Sigmund Freud and Jean Piaget s developmental theories are similar. Each of the theories goes through a human s development chronologically, giving a guideline of when certain developments happen. For example when a child is supposed to walk or when a child is going to speak. It is only a guideline and these theories are not supposed to be held too strictly. • 4. Computer Input Technologies By Alan Turing Computer Input Technologies Introduction The interaction between humans and the machine is a relatively new science. When considering how the inputs to a computer started out, it is interesting to observe just how little has changed. For example, the QWERTY keyboard as part of the typewriter invented in the 1870s(2) far predates the concept of the modern digital computer as described by Alan Turing in 1936(3). Our tools to interact with our own machines have however been refined to be more convenient for the average user with interfaces such as optimised USB and layout studied for ergonomy. In recent years, input technologies have not only been improved but brand new ones have emerged like motion control for example. The future is bright ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Furthermore, trackballs are still quite common as scrollwheels in computer mouse devices. Interestingly, the invention of the computer ball mouse in 1968 sprang directly from the invention of the trackball. In a sense, the ball mouse is a reversed version of the same device. The trackball rolls on the surface instead of the user s hands, however the tracking operates in the same way(1). This innovation in existing technology meant that the handheld type design would later be upgraded as newer technologies took its place. Today, the ball mouse has been largely replaced by the optical and laser mouse. These types of mouse devices use LEDs to emit light onto the surface on which it sits, the reflected light is analysed by a set of photodiodes. Whether the mouse is laser or not depends on if the LEDs emit coherent light (laser) or not (optical). The main drawback of the optical mouse is that they only function on opaque and matte surfaces as they depend on the light reflecting the surfaces imperfections. The precision however is much improved from the ball mouse. Furthermore, less moving parts means more durability. The mouse really opened up the horizon for user interface navigation making it a key turning point in the history of input technologies. • 5. The Book Flapper by Joshua Zeitz Flapper by Joshua Zeitz is a book that tells an epic story about the American women during the time of the 1920 s. For a better understanding, a flapper would typically be a young girl who blurred the gender roles by taking on a more masculine lifestyle. They wore their hair short, drank and smoked frequently, and explored their sexuality. With this behavior, it didn t destroy their femininity; it just simply provided the society s perception of what a woman should and should not be. The story starts off with a hopelessly romantic side. It all begins by learning about a seventeen year old girl named Zelda and a First Lieutenant named Francis Scott Fitzgerald who is known to who they became to be in modern day history. Zelda can be classified as a wild child. Her summer tan gave her skin the color of a rose petal, her hair was gold, and her eyes seemed to change color with her prismatic moods. Scott Fitzgerald was an individual who spent four years at Princeton without earning his undergraduate degree. He gave little contribution to classroom discussions, and was lazy in all things but reading and writing. In this novel, Joshua Zeitz is able to educate the readers on the becoming of new women in America. Zeitz is also able to inform the readers on the evolution and growth of the liberties associated with the new American women. As one of the themes in the first section of the book, Zeitz develops a concept by discussing and analyzing the life of CoCo Chanel. She was a French ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The candidates who do not follow the political views society deems as better rose to the occasion of winning the votes in both categories. The intense primaries depicted strengths and weaknesses in all candidates and the immediate decision for its representatives Trump and Sanders. Two main points that were arguably the most eye catching was the clear win of Sanders against Hillary and the shocking results in the runner ups of the Republican party. In the Democratic results of the New Hampshire primaries, Bernie Sanders s win against Hillary Clinton was although well predicted, still a surprising win. Even though Trump s win is a bit of a scare to some in America and the Republican party, what really stood out in this party s primary was the runner ups following Trump s clear win. Many had thought Republican candidate Cruz would be second runner up, but shockingly other candidate John Kasich followed Trump with 16% in the vote. Throughout the rest of the primaries, candidates Bush and Cruz had been a battle for third place with both having 11%, while Rubio had trailed in at 9%. Although Cruz and Rubio s failure had been a bit predicted, no one would have predicted the first runner up to be not too talked about candidate Kasich. It seemingly similar to the Democratic candidate Sanders who at first everyone thought would not succeed in these presidential campaigns, but winds up winning the hearts of many Americans. Most department stores are divided into women s, men s, boys, girls, juniors, toddlers, infants, etc. Within each specific section, there is a particular vocabulary used in reference to certain articles of clothing, and gender plays a huge part in that. For example, Certain words may appear in the women s clothing section that would never appear in the men s section and vise versa. • 8. Stereotypes In Dracula Why is society obsessed with teaching women what and whatnot to do? It could be the way that society teaches women, telling them they are not valued as much as men. Men view women across the nations as property . They claim that women are weak and stupid; therefore, men treat women as if they are higher than women. Bram Stoker s Dracula conveys the reality of Victorian, and today s society s prejudice toward the values of women by acknowledging only a woman s wrongs, and how New Women overcomes it. In this time period, men believed they were superior to women because women did not have jobs. For example, in Dracula, when Jonathan Harker sleeps in a room that Dracula did not assign him, he is trapped with three women in the parlor, and he believes he is going to die. At least God s mercy is better than that of these monsters.... At its foot a man may sleep as a man (Stoker 57). Perhaps, Jonathan believes that if the three women victimize him, it would make him less of a man that he is. Another example is the mention of the New Women when Lucy and Mina were going a walk: I believe we should have shocked the New Woman with our appetites (96). Without worrying bout being prim and proper, they were hungry enough, they did not care about the rules in the Victorian times. This started the rebellion of the New Woman . Stoker was familiar with feminist movement, growing up around strong women. Though Stoker was hostile towards women and the idea of the New Women , people confused him to be feminist because of the two contrasting women in the story: the Victorian example [Mina], and the angel that turned into a vampire. In the end, the women mentioned in the novel were either vampires, turned into a vampire, or end up dead. Even if he did not like women in general, he creates a New Woman , Mina Harker. Water management is the administration of water resourced under thorough policies and regulations that ensure a sustainable supply of water for present and future generations. • 13. The Effect Of Shallow And Deep Levels Of Processing On... Abstract This was a study conducted at IUP on undergraduate students to see if processing information at certain levels would improve memory recall. During the study, we presented the participants with a PowerPoint of information on a made up country. The participants was randomly assigned to a shallow, medium, or deep processing instruction, which explained to them how to take notes throughout the presentation. After, students recieved a distractor task for 15 minutes, and after given a multiple choice test on the information showed on the slides. The results showed that there was no significant difference between note taking instructions and the number of correct answers. All three task instructions in the study showed similar means on the recall test. Effects of Shallow to Deep Levels of Processing on Memory Recall Sources Craik and Lockhart (1972) conducted a study where they first introduced the theory of depth of processing, also known as levels on processing. They said that memory processing had levels ranging from shallow to deep. They said that people processed words at a shallow, moderate or deep level. Shallow processing, also known as structural encoding, is when physical features of the information is analyzed. They found that information is usually forgotten because the processing does not involve meaning, so it creates memory that is weak, resulting in information being harder to retrieve. One way to define moderate processing, also known as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I determined solution D to be the lowest molarity of 0.0 moles because the potatoes that were immersed in this solution had the highest average percent increase in mass of 23.08%. Since there is a small amount of sugar in the potato cores and the potato cores gained a large amount of mass, that must mean that there was a higher concentration of water or a hypotonic solution outside the potato cores because the water osmosed from high water concentration into low water concentration. I determined that solution E contained 0.8 moles of sucrose because the cores immersed in it had the next largest decrease in mass. This shows that the solution must have been even more concentrated or hypertonic causing more water to leave to create an isotonic environment. I determined that solution B contained the largest amount of sucrose with 1.0 moles. Thus, Luther wrote that Paul s letter to believers in Rome is in truth the most important document in the New Testament, the gospel in its purest expression. . . . It is the soul s daily bread, and can never be read too often, or studied too much. . . . It is a brilliant light, almost enough to illumine the whole Bible. Whether it be a bombing or just driving a van through a crowd of people, these attacks effect people in multiple ways. Described as the rapid development of industry, characterized by the use of steam power, growth of factories, mass production of manufactured goods, and most critically, by the introduction of machinery into our daily lives; one can indisputably say that the period of the Industrial Revolution was a time of substantial and drastic transformation. Representing major change from 1760 all the way to now, it influenced everything from industrial manufacturing processes, to the daily lives of the average citizens and their communities. This revolution introduced many notable drawbacks in certain people s lives which continue to pose communal threats today, along with a diversity of assistance to the same people at that time. As previously mentioned, child labour and horrific working conditions were arguably the biggest flaws of this period. After analysing The Sadler Report , one can observe that increasing amounts of child labor used to manufacture goods in factories with working conditions which dropped to such an extent as to increasing their working hours to 16 hours a day with one forty minute break, demonstrated not only the necessity of such labor, which eventually profits into the factories financial system, but the further impact of the lives of these children who were desperate for minimalistics wages. Soon, the lives of these children were dependant on these second rate conditions of these factories, and as they were often exposed to hazardous chemicals and dangerous machinery, these conditions began to raise important questions towards the end of the revolution. The only things which were helping these workers was the natural outcomes of this period as everything was affordable because everything was mass ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1408, I was back in Florence at the workshops of the cathedral and completed the life sized marble sculpture, David. It has a Gothic style and an expressionless face. It reflects the influences of sculptors of the time. David is probably one of my most famous works. I also developed my own style with figures that are much more dramatic and emotional. Between 1411 and 1413, I sculpted the marble figure, St. Mark. In 1415 I completed the marble statue of a seated St. John the Evangelist for the cathedral in Florence. Around 1425, I began a partnership with Italian sculptor and architect Michelozzo. WE went to Rome and made several architectural sculptor tombs, including the tomb of Antipope John XXIII and the tomb of Cardinal Brancacci. In 1430 Cosimo de Medici assigned me to do another statue of David but this time in bronze. Then in 1443, I was called to the city of Padua by the family of Erasmo da Narni. In 1450, I completed a bronze statue called Gattamelata. It showed Erasmo riding a horse with full battle dress. Finally in 1455 I returned to Florence and completed Magdalene ... Sarah Russell s voice (somewhat reminiscent of Ellie Goulding) melds well with Adam Young s. It s just a fun love song. Alas, this is followed by probably my least favorite song on the album, Unbelievable. This should be a fun nostalgic song looking back to the childhood of their generation. It comes off as bit dull song which list of things without any clever lyrics to tie it together. A clever rap with good transitions could hav3e worked with what is, essentially, a long list. This just doesn t work. It is Unbelievable. Now, admittedly, someone that had their shared experiences could find forgiveness in the list with their own nostalgic memories. Bird with a Broken Wind stands in stark contrast to the bubble gum pop of Unbelievable, taking on those who see the world primarily fraught with danger and loss. Clearly this is someone whose experience have left them with scared and broken where the song grapples with how you live in the wake of those experiences: It feels like I m a lone survivor/Forgotten in a dark and deadly world/And on my own/I walk alone/To see the sun again/I d give anything/But life demands a final chapter/A story we all must leave behind/It s do or die/And this is mine/The anthem of a bird with a broken ... • 39. Personal Narrative-Defining Moment Ms. Napholz made us write these paragraphs on someone we have memories with. So, I decided to chose you since we have so many awesome memories together. I know that you will think this is very lame but I had to chose someone. Hopefully you will enjoy revisiting some of these moments we had together. About 5 years ago you were snowmobile racing, and you were doing super good until you crashed. You were racing with Dalton. I remember it was very cold outside and it was in early January. It was one of the last races of the night; you went off the edge of the track. The snowmobile went as high as the light fixtures; it was terrifying. Everyone ran over to you to check and see if you were okay. The medics arrived and took you in an ambulance to the nearest hospital. The doctors said that you had broken 5 vertebrates and shattered your tailbone. You were on bed rest for many months but ended up having a great recovery. The first maybe 12 years of our lives together you were pretty mean to me. You would make wait 3 feet behind you for the bus, wait to get inside, push me in the snow, and overall just harass me. These are just a few of the hundreds of ridiculous, cruel things I had to deal with. However, I believe this made us closer. Now we get along great and I don t know where I would be without you. His moving campaign and the promise of an immense reward was inspirational to the many willing participants. One must essentially understand that the leaders of these crusades connected almost every accomplishment to the works of God, and felt a huge moral obligation to take back what once belonged to Him. The extent of the crusades shows the deep devotion that most of Western Europe had towards Christianity and the desire to rid the world of unnecessary evils. During the Middle Ages, heresy was one of the prime issues that affected the solidarity of the Church. In order to maintain the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The general consensus of the Western European societies classified their enemies as anyone who differed even slightly from the Catholic beliefs. Their society appears to be a very strict and conformal atmosphere in which autonomy did not play much of a role. As such, in regards to the sentencing of the Count of Toulouse the writings on the crusades contain much information that points to the choice of conversion or condemnation. Eternal damnation was believed to be the result of a person who did not show repentance or debarred heresy, and shows no devotion to the cause of reconciliation. Even though the principal language used throughout the crusades was Latin, the context of it was used in a multitude of ways. The broad applicability of Latin was used because it was the official language of the Roman church. The Church was the main source of education and therefore created a web of writings, textbooks, and biblical translations which allowed much of Europe and Asia Minor to understand the message of Western Christianity. The direct meaning of the word crusade was taking the cross though this period was not named as such until later in the sixteenth century. The soldiers of the Crusades apperceived that the idea of taking one s cross meant to follow Christ, which allowed for such substantial influence ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
