biological agents that can be used as weapons of war as well as protect humans from said agents

Why Is Black Swan Psychological Perspective
The film, Black Swan, by Darren Aronofsky is one of the most unsettling psychological thrillers
of recent years. The film is about a young ballerina, Nina, whom strives for perfection as a dancer
and dreams of becoming the Swan Queen in her company s new staging of Black Swan.
Throughout the film, Nina struggles with many of her own psychoanalytical problems. These most
specifically start after Nina is cast at the Swan Queen. A Freudian analysis of this film can bring
out all of Freud s biggest theories while at the same time follow the main themes and symbols of
Aronofsky and Natalie Portmans masterpiece. If one were to dwell into Freud s famous concept of
the conscious and unconscious, superego, id, and ego would be the first things that would be

It is this balance that Nina is failing to keep and that is ultimately leads to her her demise. For
example, who Nina is at first this mommy s perfect daughter and always doing the right thing.
Then to become a girl who turns away from her mom which evolves doing everything her mom
disapproves off in one night. Nina even goes so far to use a pipe she found in the trash room to
keep her mother from coming into her room and away from her. Nina holds on so tightly to her
sexual repression in the beginning that once she starts to let go, she does not know how to stop.
The lack of balance comes to a head when Nina projects the Black Swan as Lily and kills her to
overcome this repression. This allows Nina to overcome her depression and become the Black
Swan. Although it turns out to be the projection as Lily as the Black Swan was actually Nina,
which in turn means Nina is killing off a part of herself and in the film this means she literally kills
