After reading the story and analyzing each detail, I found that they are not foil characters. Both
characters have used their words to show anger, but when the time came right, they both chose
actions. Antigone buried her brother, while Creon sent for Antigone to be killed. When both
realized that words would not solve their issues, they both chose to act out with their anger. The
way that both of these characters choose to express their anger is similar in many ways. Instead
of Creon being Antigone s foil character, I feel that Ismene is Antigone s foil. While Antigone
showed bravery, empowerment, and power, her sister decided to show that she was weak and she

a child on a swing. Physics is also in every sport you have ever played, or watched someone play. It
is involved in a baseball player swinging his bat, or a swimmer cutting through the water. It is also
in golf. In this paper I will discuss three different ways that physics plays a role in the game of
golf. The first is the motion of hitting the ball, or the swing, the second is the spin of the ball,
and the third is the loft of the driver. Let us start with the basic motion of golf, which is swinging
the club and hitting the ball. The golf swing is an example of angular motion. The twist that
golfers have in their swing produces torque on the club, which changes the angular velocity of
the club. The key to getting the ball to travel such long distances lies in the club head velocity.
The faster the club head is going at the bottom of the swing, the further the ball will travel. This
is due to a greater amount of kinetic energy being transferred from the club head to the ball. In

The flash fiction selection I chose for my performance is the story Mythologies written by R. L.
Futrell. I chose this story initially because of the title, having an interest in most cultures
mythologies and stories I started to read the story. However, upon reading the story I was drawn
in by the world surrounding the text. A single paragraph of context is all that is given about why
the story is being told. The rest is dedicated to a boring drive to West Virginia and the trivialities
of the expedition and the sights, smells, and sounds of the world around them. The apparent lack
of a central message is what really drew me towards the story.

We all consider ourselves civilized. We think this because we are sophisticated and cultured, and
have laws and order. In Lord of the Flies, William Golding explores a scenario where schoolboys
enter a lawless and orderless paradise. Through his depiction of characters, Jack, Roger, and the
naval officer, he reveals his attitudes towards civilizationand civilized behavior. Golding shows that
civilization and society are only masks, a constraint for human s true selves because no one is truly
civilized, but instead innately uncivilized and savage.
From the beginning of the novel, Golding uses Jack Merridew s development and actions to
