The General View Of Retirement
Switzerland
What is the general view of retirement in Switzerland?
Demographics have changed quickly for Switzerland as its retirement population increases and
estimated to continue the trend going forward. Similar to other European countries Switzerland s
retirement program is pillared, what has made the difference in this country is the diversification
within each retirement component limiting the effect and avoiding global market and local
economy hardships. The uncertainties still lay ahead as the retirement system adjusts to support it
purpose of sustaining the means for superannuation.
Are there government programs to help people afford their later years similar to Social Security?
The public system for retirement is basically a pay as you go finance obligation covering the
public living and employed in Switzerland. Men become eligible from the age of 65 and women
from the age of 64, receiving benefits related to years of contribution. Early retirement is possible
with reduced benefits up to 6.8 % for each year drawn early. Individuals can chose to delay
withdrawals from 1 to 5 years after reaching the official retirement age, increase the benefit amount
up to 31% depending on the number of months deferred. Occupational pensions are mandatory for
workplaces, where employer and employee s contribute from 7% to 18% into the compulsory
pension program. Self employed individuals and low earners can voluntary participant in this
program.

Analysis Of The Catalan Architect, Antoni Gaudi
Originality is returning to the origin, is one of the most famous and often repeated phrase of the
Catalan architect, Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi was a devout religious man who believed that nature
was the origin and he started encouraging his belief of returning to the primitive basics. He had a
great regard for nature as a creation of God and most of his works were informed by an
obsessive religious spiritualism, a strong relationship with nature and heavy interest in ecology
with an acutely personal impression of design. Hif religious belief and architecture became
increasingly intertwined, while he studied organic and anarchic forms of geometry that were
derived from nature, seeking a way to give definition to these forms in his architectural designs.
His interest and study of nature informed fantastic organic arrangement of forms in one of his
famous residential buildings, Casa Mila, and its details. As in all Gaudi s later works, his models
and studies made on the site, rather than drawings, had been the key designing method for Casa
Mila. He understood the abundant idea of the natural world and expressed it with curved forms,
never in straight lines. He also noticed that natural construction tended to require ponderous
materials such as stone and wrought iron, mimicking the appearances of muscle, ribs and bone of
living organisms. With all these organic models supporting his premises, Gaudi based the design of
Casa Mila on a simple religious perception; Considering that

Lumumba Chapter Analysis
Fifteen years after it all happened, I sat by my radio...we messengers of goodwill adrift on a sea of
mistaken intentions (323).
Orleanna s comparison between what was going on in the political arena of the Congo and the
private arena of the Price family exemplifies the plot of the two dramas in the novel: the
overarching drama in the Congo, contributing the character like setting of the novel, and the more
intimate drama in the Price s family life. The details about Lumumba s imprisonment is
supplemented by Orleanna s own detailed recollections of her family s struggles: Leah wanting to
hunt, Ruth May being sick, having no food, etc. The details about Lumumba s death next to the
Price s family struggles also enhance the image perhaps even characterization of the setting as a

Kingsolver spends an abundance of both Leah and Rachel s narrations of detailing the horrors of
the hunt. In this selection, sentences like Birds hit the wall of fire and lit like bottle rockets
portray the true chaos of the event. In this instance, Leah s point of view is useful for descriptions
of hunt because she fought right in the middle of it. Leah is surrounded by the fire crackling and
the antelopes who did not leap gracefully. Her intimate first person point of view through the use
of details enhances the reader s understanding of the insanity of the event. In addition, the brutality
of the event as given by gruesome details like dark blood leaked from its delicate black mouth
characterizes the population of the whole in Kilanga as having almost animalistic qualities. Rachel
extrapolates on this point later, but through Kingsolver s details in Leah s narration, the reader
understands the brutish behavior of both the white and the black people of the Congo here; they re
starving, just like animals they re

The Public Company Sonic Drive Corporation
The public company Sonic Drive Corporation was my choice of analysis because of being
familiar with the field of work. Sonic Corporation, also known as Sonic Drive In, is a fast food
restaurant chain that originated in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As of 2015, Sonic has 3,526
drive ins across 44 states. The total amount of drive ins includes company and franchise owned.
Sonic has operated since the 1950 s and is known for its carhops delivering food to cars on roller
skates (Shine). The restaurant s menu consists of hamburgers and hot dogs with fries and tots
following as side items. The drink options available range all the way from soft drinks to slushes
and even milkshakes. Customers are also given the choice to combine different flavors to create
thousands of drink possibilities. It all started at the end of World War II. The founder of Sonic,
Troy N. Smith resided in Seminole, Oklahoma. His job at the end of the war was as a milkman.
Soon after that career, he opened up a cottage cafГ© named Troy s Pan Full of Chicken. By the
time 1953 rolled around, he had partnered up resulting in a walk up root beer stand named Top
Hat. The operation brought in astonishing sales resulting in more expansion (Blackburn). The
insight of a speaker system for vehicles was then implemented at the drive ins. After the
installation of a speaker system, sales had nearly tripled. It wasn t until 1959 that the name of Top
Hat wasn t a problem in the legal system. All owners were informed about the

Essay on Briggs Stratton Case Analysis
Briggs Stratton Case Analysis Introduction History Stephen F. Briggs and Harold M. Stratton
founded Briggs and Stratton Corporation in Milwaukee in 1908. Briggs was an inventor and
Stratton was a successful businessman. The first product developed by Briggs was too expensive
to produce and the partners were out of money. In 1909, Briggs filed a patent for a gas engine
igniter to replace the existing magneto system in automobiles. This product was the beginning of
Briggs and Stratton becoming the largest US producer of switches and locks for automobiles.
Briggs and Stratton tried other products in the 1920 s, but they were not competitive with the

The Vanguard OHV engine is a medium engine for premium markets and industrial/construction
markets. Briggs and Stratton have recently added to this line of products through alliances with two
Japanese manufacturers, Daihatsu and Mitsubishi. These alliances should allow Briggs and
Stratton to have more growth and profit potential for this product segment. The Diamond Series is
Briggs and Stratton s latest addition to their product line. These engines are targeted to the premium
market for commercial lawn care. There is not much competition in this segment. Honda seems to
be the biggest competitor and does not have a large portion of this market. Briggs and Stratton are
planning to grow this product through the international markets. The Diamond Series is considered
a high growth and high profit product and it is in the rapid growth life cycle phase. Overall, Briggs
and Stratton have three very attractive products in their product profile. This data trend seems to
mean Briggs and Stratton is well positioned in their market for continued growth and profitability.
C.Trends, Symptoms, Possible Problems Briggs and Stratton were confronted with strong
competitive rivalry from various sources, mainly the Japanese companies. The Japanese motorcycle
manufacturers took advantage of the reduced demand and the weakening of the yen, therefore,

Mormon Scholarship Essay
I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, also known as the Mormon or
LDS church. I know it to be the only true church on the earth today, and I also know that it holds
they only true way to light, truth, and happiness. It has shaped my past, and all my future
decisions will be made through the knowledge I have and will receive as a follower of Jesus Christ
and his teachings.
This statement sums up the whole focus of my life. All other priorities, concerns, and pursuits of
mine stem from or are secondary to the commandments and teachings of this church. My future is
in God s hands, my passion to follow Him, and my desire to align my will with His. Contrary to
what some may think, this doesn t mean that I shouldn t work hard and plan ahead. Instead, I
believe that this is exactly what God wants me to do, having a mindset that is open to counsel from
Him.

Brandenburg V. Ohio Case Analysis
I believe both the rulings were very understandable and the best possible outcome. I believe the
basic holding is pretty simple, just because something might offend someone, it necessarily doesn
t mean that it s illegal. The minor premise is more interesting that burning a flag is expressive of
a particular political view. The court held that expressive conduct as the same as speech, and the
political nature of speech is entitled to the highest protection under the constitution. It was the
same scenario with Cohen V. California, he was certainly wearing a jacket that had words that
may offend some people but were just his thoughts that he was trying to get across. That also
would be a form of expression. There are also boundaries, for example the case Brandenburg V.
Ohio sets a standard for what may be permissible.

Observably, the disorder mostly treated and cured by the traditional medicine in the culture.
Cultural bound syndromes can either cause somatic complains, or can be simply behavioral
with no connection to any effect on the body parts. On the other hand, researchers may choose
to suggest that cultural based syndromes represent behaviors that may be acceptable in certain
regions (Wilkinson 2000). Conversely, this disorders maybe highly disregarded in other areas.
Ataque De Nervios Ataque De Nervios is an example of cultural bound syndrome among the
Hispanics. Illustratively, the disorder is characterized by crying hysterically, rickety, out of
control shouting, physical and verbal violence, and an extreme high temperature in the chest.
Ostensibly, the disorder is said to be as result of attacks by evil spirits and demonic visitations.
In essence, the symptoms are associated with stressful events such as the death of a loved one, a
traumatic experience involving a loved one, divorce, or separation of in a marriage union. In this
regard, this syndrome is only unique among the Hispanics, in other regions it may be viewed as a
normal way of venting out anger. The Diathesis Stress Model In principle, this theory seeks to
explain behavior as a predisposition vulnerability that is coupled up by experiences that are stresses
in life. The model takes consideration of the psychological, biological, and situational aspects in life

Issues Concerning Adult Students Today
This literature review investigates and outlines issues concerning adult students today. Institutions
of higher education need to design and adapt their programs to attract and engage this growing
population of students to meet their needs and insure their success. This paper will defines who
adult students are, discusses and outline the specific needs they have in higher educationprograms
and discusses the barriers they currently encounter. In addition, there will be discussion about best
practices to consider, those currently in operation and future concerns for both students and
universities. For clarification going forward, I will use the terms non traditional student, adult
student, adult learner, non residential student and nontraditional learner interchangeably. The
growth of the adult student population in higher educationrequires programs that address and
support their specific needs.

Introduction To Identity The Unknow Acid Solution
The purpose of this experiment is to identity the unknow acid solution through determining the
Ka value of the reaction experimentally. The colors of unknown acid 3 matches the colors of
test tube 1, with thymol blue being light pink, malachite green being dark green and crystal
violet being cyan. Comparing it to other 3 test tubes, test tube 2 has a similar result. Both test
tube 3 and 4 have higher Ph than 1 and 2, since thymol blue is yellow and crystal violet is purple
in test tube 3, rose and blue in test tube 4. Crystal violet is green in test tube 2, which shows that
it has a lower ph than test tube 1. So, the order of acidity from most acidic to least acidic is 2143.
Dichloroacetic acid is the second strongest in those 4 acids; this suggests that unknown acid 3 is
dichloroacetic acid.

According to Le Chatelier s principle, the equilibrium shifts to the left, making Phenolphthalein
colorless. At a high ph level where the H3O concentration is low, the equilibrium shifts to the right,

base and strong acid strong base titration. In a weak acid and strong base titration, the equivalence
point would be above 7 due to the reaction occur between the conjugated base and water. This
often makes the pH value detectable by Phenolphthalein. In a strong acid and strong base titration
where the equivalence point is 7, the spike of pH around equivalence point is huge and all
indicators at this range change color at the same volume of acid or base. Therefore, using

Observational Ethnographic Study
Divisions of household labour and child care, which have been argued to be markers of love and
intimacy, differ to a great deal depending on a couple s gender ideology. Greenstein (1996)
undertook an important study drawing on existing qualitative data from the National Survey of
Families and Households attained via interviews and surveys, to re examine the relationship
between equality and labour. Greenstein (1996) found that egalitarian women are less likely to do
more housework than their partners and are more likely to perceive the division of household
labour as unjust. Supporting this, Hochschild Machung (1989) have noted that a couple s gender

Rhetorical Analysis Of Trifles
Alesha Jeter
Trifles Rhetoric Essay
5.30.17
The one act play Trifles, by Susan Glaspell, tells the story of a group of people attempting to
figure out the murder of a man in their neighborhood. The main suspect in the case is the man s
wife and a group of people from the town try to find any incriminating evidence against her in the
home. There are five characters in this play, the County Attorney Sheriff Peters, his wife, Mrs.
Peters, Hale, a farmer, and his wife, Mrs. Hale. This play thought to be one of the earliest
examples of feminine dramas. This is obviously due to the themes of feminism and female
stereotypes present in the play. Glaspell uses her power of rhetoric, though it is subtle, to make a
point that women shall no longer be neglected or glanced over even though they are at the same
level, if not more equipped to do all of the same things men can do. The topic of this play is
clearly the capability of women to step out of their stereotype for the time of the obedient wife.
This is shown when Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale hide the dead canary rather than showing it to the
two men. They knew that if they showed the dead bird to the men, then that would be all the
information needed to make prove Mrs. Wright s guilt. John Wright was strangled and everyone
knew of his temper which would make it obvious that he killed the bird. This, in turn, would
make Mrs. Wright want to kill him. It is clear that Glaspell s stance on feminism is adamant
support for it. Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peter commit a crime of their own by hiding incriminating
evidence. Mrs. Peters is even worse off since she is the wife of the sheriff. Yet neither of the
women flinch as the bird is hidden from the men. They understand why Mrs. Wright would
possibly want to do such a thing and they do not think that it is right for her to be punished for
defending herself. Hiding the bird goes back into the theme of feminism because while the men
thought they had simply let their wives alone to do their women stuff the women had inadvertently
solved the case.

set forward by Thrasymachus supports the view that the views of true morality are devised as a
reflection of particular political communities. Thrasymachus believes that the definitions of
good morality and bad morality set forward by the ruling class are not necessarily correct. In
addition, Thrasymachus argues that this is disadvantageous to everyone else and only
beneficial to those in power, each ruling group sets down laws for its own advantage (Republic I,

• How Did Changes To The Icd-9 Over The Years Reflect Events
What is medical coding and what is it used for?
Medical coding professionals provide a key step in the medical billing process. Every time a
patient receives professional health care in a physician s office, hospital outpatient facility or
ambulatory surgical center (ASC), the provider must document the services provided. The medical
coder will abstract the information from the documentation, assign the appropriate codes, and
create a claim to be paid, whether by a commercial payer, the patient, or CMS. (Aapccom, 2015) It
is very important that billing coders have a full understanding of how to properly use medical
codes to prevent denial of claims submitted.
What coding systems are used in the United States?
In the United States, ICD 10 has been used to classify mortality data since 1999, while we
continue to use ICD 9 CM for all other purposes, such as billing and morbidity statistics. In
addition, government agencies, health care insures, and providers are studying the implications of

Film Analysis Of Carrie
The film Carrie (Brian De Palma, 1976) follows the protagonist Carrie White, Sissy Spacek, who
is a shy high school student in a small town. White develops telekinetic powers after receiving her
first period, which turns her world completely upside down; especially seeing as she did not know
what the blood meant. It is not until the end of the filmwhen she starts to embrace her gifts.
Although Carrie is a horror film, the underlying meaning points to the mark of womanhood and
discovering a womans own power, therefore shrinking the malemasculinity right before our eyes.
Carrie is a feminist film where fear comes not in blood or telekinesis, but the fears of strong women.

Analysis Of The Film Six Degrees Of Separation
In most films, the director choses a specific setting to help contextualize the time and place that
the film is taking place. In some films, however, the director purposely chooses background
elements that are significant to the plot as they convey tone, emotion, and ideas. In the films Six
Degrees of Separation (1933), Devil in a Blue Dress (1955), and The Human Stain (2003), the
director of each films chooses to incorporate historical subplots into the background of each film.
The historical subplots serve as extensions of the certain characters, helping to emphasize their
inherent Otherness.

Paul`s life is in chaos as he is attempting to uproot his entire life by creating a façade to appeal
to the white upper class. It is this façade, however, that gives Paul control in his life as he is
finally able to belong to a family with the Kittredges. This imbalance in Paul`s life causes him to

a Blue Dress, director Carl Franklin incorporates references to Delilah from The Imitation of

Daphne Monet will always be marked with blackness, despite passing for a white. After getting

1934 film Imitation of Life. In the film, Delilah is a black homemaker living in a subordinate role
to her white friend Beatrice. Despite this subjugation, Delilah is proud of her race. The comparison
between Delilah and Daphne not only foreshadows Daphne`s unsuccessful passing but also her
inability to belong in a white relationship. The name Dahlia relates to the Black Dahlia murder in

A mammogram used a low dose x ray to find early signs of breast cancer and other diseases of the
breasts. A mammogram can discover changes in your breast as early as two years before the
patient or physician is able to feel them. Any woman who has had breast cancer or who is at a
high risk of getting it should probably have a mammogram more often. PAP SMEAR: This one
is recommended every one to three years for any woman who is sexually active or is over the
age of 21. A PAP smear is simply a test in which the nurse removes a small sample of the skin
cells from the inside of the cervix. The skin cells are tested for any signs of precancerous disease
or any abnormalities. CHOLESTEROL: This test should be done every one to five years in
healthy adults, those who already have heart disease or other cardiac issues will probably have
these tests done routinely. A cholesterol test (or screening) is a grouping to tests that check your
cholesterol and lipid levels in the blood. It is done with a simple blood sample taken in your
physician s office or hospital lab. High cholesterol is associated with hardening of the arteries,
which causes heart disease and even heart attacks. BLOOD PRESSURE: You should have your
blood pressure checked every two years at the very least. There are record numbers of people
with high blood pressure in the United States. High blood pressure has been associated many life
threatening conditions, including kidney disease and heart disease. COLORECTAL CANCER
TESTS: The trick to beating colorectal cancer is to find it early. There are several different tests
that doctors use to test for it. Colorectal

Pensions Input Periods
A PIP does not have to be the same as the tax year. PIPs can be different between pension schemes
and can be changed by an individual. For new pensions started after the 6th April 2011, a PIP will
automatically end on the 5th April. It is important to understand that PIPs are only used for the
Annual Allowance and any contributions made to a scheme will still be eligible for tax relief in
the tax year that they are made.
Annual Allowance The rate of charge
Only contributions made in excess of the annual allowance will be charged. The rate will
approximately be the top rate of income tax that is applied your income.

Carry Forward
New rules for Carry Forward have been introduced for 2011/2012 which potentially allow clients to
invest more than ВЈ50,000 to be contributed to a pension arrangement without being subject to the
Annual Allowance charge. This may be of particular importance to high earners whose pension
contributions have previously been restricted.
The new Carry Forward rules allow unused Annual Allowance to be carried forward by up to

When Rivera called Talcott the following day (January 11) and stated that he needed a smaller
sum, $5,700, there was no mention as to how the difference was to be returned to Talcott. Talcott
immediately canceled the check and issued a new check for deposit. At the point that Rivera told
Talcott that the $10,000 check was not needed, he should have returned or destroyed the check.
Further, Talcott should not have issued another check until he was assured that the first check
would not be deposited. Any Kind Checks, Inc. appears to have had an internal policy to verify the
authenticity of checks over $2,000. Further, since the check was being cashed by a third party, this
demonstrates that Any Kind Checks, Inc. had even more reason to do their due diligence and verify.
Their lack of verification makes them complicit in the violating the good faith doctrine . В§

National Football League Players Association Case Summary
Since 1920, the year the National Football League was founded, multiple issues have come up
regarding bargaining and anti trust law. The National Football League Players Association, also
known as the NFLPA, the labor organization representing the individual players, was founded in
1956. Its main goal was, and still is, to get the best bargaining agreement for the players, making
sure all the needs and interests have been met. However, the job of those working at the National
Football LeaguePlayers Association does not end once leaving the collective bargaining table.

players and facilitated strikes to give the players leverage in exercising bargaining... Show more

The National Football League has a Commissioner, who is supposed to be the voice for the
owners, in addition to all the lawyers at the bargaining table. Currently, Roger Goodell holds the
position, yet his term, while short, already has controversy around it. Some examples include
Ray Rice and Ezekiel Elliot and their domestic violence scandals, as well as the New England
Patriots and the Deflategate incident. On the opposite end of the spectrum lies the executive
director for the National Football League Players Association, DeMaurice Smith. For a long time,
however, Gene Upshaw held the position until his passing away in 2008. The relationship between
these two leaders affects the bargaining table and how willing each side is to negotiate. Paul

Classroom Management Philosophy Essay
Classroom Management Plan
Theoretical Introduction
* Philosophy of classroom management:
When I think of classroom management I often picture a classroom in which students learning is
being carried out with minimum interruption. Teacher is there as a facilitator of the learning
process through authentic learning activities which allow students to share and exchange
information through respective and cooperative manner. A description of a good classroom
management for some teachers or administrators or even parents may be focused or aimed at the
physical order of how the classrooms should look like in terms of students sitting at their seats or
teacher pointing at a student to answer her question one by one. I depict the picture ... Show more

I always focus on controlling or for a better word directing the behavior. When a child
misbehaves, it should be stated and focused on his behavior, not the child. So the child will
know that you always care for him, but do not care for his bad or misjudged behavior. By
explaining to the child, It is your behavior that upset me, not you! will make him understand and
want to correct his behavior. Young people are curious creatures who always seek to learn more
about the world. They also want to feel good about themselves and have a sense of belonging or
know that someone care about them. * A discussion of theorists that clarify my perspective:
I believe in Rogers s Unconditional Positive Regard Theory, which stated that everyone is
worthy and acceptable regardless of their behavior. Behavior is the avenue people use to react
how they feel about other people, things and their environment. People also act out when their
basic needs are not met. I also found myself agreeing with Glasser s Choice Theory which
explained that our behavior at any given time is our best choice to satisfy one or more of our
basic needs. By focusing on meeting those basic needs of these young people such as giving them
a sense of power by giving them choices, responsibility and right to discuss about classroom rules,
encouraging them on a job well attempted, recognizing their unique quality and

Reformulating the Hazards Mitigation Paradigm Essay
Scholarly assessments of our nation s capability to effectively respond to hazards suggest a
paradigm shift is needed regarding the future direction of research, policy and tactics for preparing
and responding to natural and human made hazards. This paper will provide a historical overview
of our nation s emergency preparedness and response posture, examine the need to reformulate the
existing hazards paradigm into a broader resiliency framework, and suggest roles and
responsibilities characteristic of government and community stakeholders in the context of this
broadened approach. Mechanisms needed to achieve a successful implementation of this improved
strategy will also be examined.

An effort to centralize federal emergency functions was instituted in 1979 where many separate
disaster related responsibilities were merged into the Federal Emergency Management Agency
(FEMA). FEMA developed an integrated emergency management system, realigning its mission
from civil defense into disaster relief, recovery and mitigation programs using an all hazards
approach. Following the terrorist attacks of 2001, FEMA coordinated its activities with the newly
formed Office of Homeland Security by joining 22 other federal agencies, programs and offices
which became the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in 2003 (Federal Emergency
Management Agency, 2010).
Despite efforts to better organize federal response programs, expectations regarding improved
federal response to natural disasters were shattered by FEMA s poor performance in dealing with
hurricanes (Waugh Tierney, 2007, p.33). While integrating FEMA into DHS was intended to the
federal response capability, DHS was found to be plagued by high employee turnover and low
morale to the degree Homeland Security had the lowest job satisfaction rating out of 36
government agencies surveyed; DHS instituted an ineffective and oft misunderstood color coded
threat warning system; DHS response to Hurricane Katrina exposed a lack of coordination and
leadership; and, the agency s integration of people, assets and technology into one overarching
entity has proved complicated and overwhelming (Fessler, 2008). Such

Urban Zoning Is Convenient, It Has Negative Impacts On The...
Imagine waking up in your apartment and walking down the street to your job. Later in the day,
you take a lunch break, and you walk from your office to your favorite restaurant a few blocks
down. Eventually, you get off work, and you head to the local grocery store just three doors
down from your apartment. You pick up dinner, and you plan a nice relaxing night in your
apartment. The night passes, and you do it all over again the next day. For a small percentage of
America, this is a realty. However, for many Americans, this is unprecedented. Since the 1940 s,
the majority of the U.S. cities and towns have moved to drivable sub urban zoning. Meaning
housing districts are usually more than a few miles from work, the closest restaurant, or grocery
store. This results in driving almost everywhere. Although drivable sub urbanism is convenient, it
has negative impacts on the environment. Therefore, the United States must make the conversion
back to walkable urbanism zoning because drivable sub urbanism is having detrimental effects on
our environment s land, air, water, and climate. Before the 1940 s, the majority of the United
States cities were zoned into walkable urbanism. In Christopher Leinberger s book, The option of
Urbanism, he describes walkable urbanism as the following, [In walkable urbanism] you could
satisfy most everyday needs, such as school, shopping, parks, friends, and even employment, within
walking distance or transit of one s home, (Leinberger 3). For

Unlike other subjects like maths, science, Arts and English, the subject was not even tested. We
always thought of it as another boring lesson on computer architecture or Microsoft office.
Meanwhile, an American young called Mark Zikirburg was applying his knowledge of computer
programming to create what has become the largest social media network in the world. A network
that worth more than 100 billion dollar and connecting more than billion people across the globe.
The importance of delivering programming knowledge has been recognised by quite a few
countries worldwide and the United Kingdom could be one of the best examples. In September
2013, some exciting changes were made to the national curriculum. ICT Information and
Communications Technology was out, replaced by a new computer sciencecurriculum including

movement has been calling for change in the computing curriculum by putting more emphasis in
the computer programming, and it has received a lot of support from business and non profit
organization and public figures including the American President Barak Obama who gave speech
on 12/8/2013 calling for support from the public for these changes.
However, despite this remarkable recognition of the need for teaching programming in schools, the
subject is still very controversial. While some people argue that we might not be ready yet

Solving The Problem Of An Aging Prison Population
Solving the Problem of an Aging Prison Population
Joshua N. Handy
American Military University Abstract
The American correctional system is facing many emerging issues. One of these issues is the
exponential increase in aging offenders. In the past few decades, the number of geriatric offenders
incarcerated has multiplied at an increasing rate. This essay addresses the issue of aging offenders
in the correctional system; the problems that these offenders create and the underlying issues
related to the aging prisoner population as they relate to correctional management. This essay also
proposes a solution to the problem.
Solving the Problem of an Aging Prison Population The United States of America has the largest
corrections system in the world. The incarceration rate in the U.S. is over one in every one hundred
citizens, the highest ratio in the world. The population of prisoners is expanding at a rate at which
the U.S. correction system can just manage. The introductions of three strikes , tougher sentences,
and mandatory minimum sentence laws have vastly contributed to growth in prison population.
Inmates serving mandatory longer sentences are a part of one the biggest growing concerns with
the American correctional system, an aging population with increased needs. Between 1981 and
2010, the number of U.S. prisoners age 55 and over increased from 8,853 to 124,900 (Criminal
Justice Hub, n.d.). If the problem is not addressed and the rate continues to grow, by

The Decision Of Purchasing Drones For The Purpose Of Local...
Purchasing Drones The decision of purchasing drones for the purpose of local law enforcement
to use could be a negative and a positive. There are several states in the U.S. who do allow the
purchase and the usage of drones by local law enforcement. Some of those states consist of Texas
and California; but for the states on the East Coast (where Baltimore, Maryland resides); there is
one state who allows the purchase and usage of drones: Florida. There are several pros and cons
on this issue. Some of the pros and cons revolve around money, time, and the issue of individual
rights. A drone is an unmanned aircraft or ship guided by remote control or onboard computers.
(Merriam Webster). It is also beyond [the] line of sight: the GPS of a U.S. spy drone.
(Dictionary.com). The issue that will be continuously brought up will be the right of privacy. Will
the usage of drones violate the Fourth Amendment? It can be a violation if abused. The key word in
the definition of drones IS spy. Is it spying if you are looking at something in plain view, but the
device is out of plain sight? The Fourth Amendment states that every individual has the right to not
have unreasonable searches and not without probable cause. However, there are exceptions to the
Fourth Amendment which includes the Plain View Doctrine. The Plain View Doctrine states that if
a law enforcement officer is in a place legally and sees criminal activity or other evidence, the

Congress Review Act Analysis
With Republican President, Donald Trump, and the Republican Party holding the majority of both
chambers of the 115th Congress, passing environmental protection legislation doesn t seem to be a
priority (or even a thought). Not only are Congress and the President ignoring environmental
protection, but they have also worked together to reverse current environmental protection
regulations. Normally, repealing any form of legislation is a lengthy and challenging task.
However, during the spring of 2017, the Legislative and Executive branches were able to quickly
and easily get rid of two environmental protection rules. This ease of change definitively had do

Additionally, the intent of the procedure is pretty pointless because the president could just
override an agency rule. Though, because the tool is meant for Congress but has a road block of
the presidency, this Congressional tool has barely left the toolbox. In fact, it has only worked
one time before 2017 (Feller). However, since Trump was sworn into office, the CRA has
resurfaced. When a political party takes over the Presidency with control of both Congressional
chambers this device can be very affective. Because the CRA allows the 60 day disapproval
window, many of Obama s midnight regulations were at risk of being overturned. Specifically, in
the Congress and Trump were able to roll back 14 out of the 15 Obama regulations that fell into
the 60 day window (Larkin). The Stream Protection Act was one of these 14 disapprovals that
was passed in the spring of 2017. In December of 2016, the Federal Office of Surface Mining
Reclamation and Enforcement issued a regulation requiring coal companies to monitor water
quality near mines. Specifically, the rule established a buffer zone rule, blocking mining within
100 feet of streams. In general, the rule put stricter regulations on coal mining companies in
efforts to reduce pollution and preserve natural resources (Feller). This rule was in effect for a
very short period before the new President and Congress changed it. This rule disapproval was

The Most Important Aspects Of The Profession Of Cpas
The accounting profession is considered a very important element in the business world and the
economic world. This profession is performed by the certified public accountant (CPA). After
passing the state s exam and meeting the additional experience requirement you will get a CPA

factors in the profession of CPAs, which are: Pre certification and lifelong learning, pride in the
profession, value proposition, and world wide profession.

They make their decisions based on financial information certified by CPAs. This profession, and
since its appearance, has not stagnated and has undergone several changes. These changes occurred
mainly after the financial scandals of the 2000s. These changes are primarily the approval of the
Sarbanes Oxley Act.
AICPA issued an examination of the future of the profession and the determining factors of the
future of CPAs. The project examined the trends affecting CPAs in their daily work, enlisted
opinions on how these trends will impact CPAs in the years ahead, and helped to identify actions
the profession could take to meet challenges and leverage opportunities now and in the coming

A CPA has to maintain a dynamic changing of business in matters related to government regulations

CPA must dedicate time to stay current with regulations, social economics, technology, and political

Right-To-Bear Arms
Right to Bear Arms
In 2013 states with gun restrictions had more shootings than states without any laws. The right for
U.S. citizens to bear arms is completely beneficial, and without their legality it would cause more
problems than it would solve. Owning a gun gives the owner a feeling of protection, and if your
attacker thinks you may be concealing a weapon they would definitely be less likely to rob you or
do anything in attempt to harm you. Banning guns entirely would have huge implications, which
would not be good for anyone. Without guns our safety would be at risk, and without that feeling of
protection it will be a weight that you constantly carry and will withhold your from true identity and

mainly following a heterolytic oxidation pathway and hence with a good selectivity to the desired
epoxide. However, at longer reaction times (72 h), the reaction proceeded further and the major
observed product was surprisingly benzophenone (5). Even if thiobenzophenone is quite stable,
although it photoxidizes in air to form benzophenone and sulfur. Thiobenzophenone is deep blue
and dissolves readily in many organic solvents. One of the first reported syntheses of
thiobenzophenone involves the reaction of sodium hydrosulfide(2equal) and benzophenone
dichloride. However, in the reaction scheme of the second method, a mixture of gaseous hydrogen
chloride and hydrogen sulfide are passed into a cooled solution of benzophenone in ethanol.
Thiobenzophenone can also

U.s. Foreign Policy During The Middle East
For over the last two decades the Middle East has gradually gathered attention and has come to the
forefront of U.S. foreign policy. The focus on this region began primarily after the attacks on the
two World Trade Center s in New York City on September 11th, 2001. Iraq was the initial target in
the response to the devastating tragedy. This response involved an indefinite occupation with the
intention of eliminating weapons of mass destruction , with intelligence under the Bush
Administration allegedly confirming their existence. As this undeclared war on Iraqtook place, U.S.
foreign policy was initiated. It consisted of bringing down an authoritarian regime and establishing
democracy within the state of Iraq, along with decimating any potential threats to the U.S.
homeland. The major threat lying with terrorist organizations in the region such as Al Qaeda, who
were to blame for the 9/11 attacks on U.S. soil. Eventually the deployment of troops into Iraq was
left without any particular cause, due to the revelation that Saddam Hussein s regime had no
possession of any nuclear weapons. And as U.S. troops struggled to figure out exactly what they
were fighting for, an insurgency began to emerge. Is the U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East the
cause of insurgency in the region along with the eventual formation of militant groups such as
ISIS? The policies carried out by the United Statesconsisted of establishing order and democracy in
a state while also preventing any

Long Beach Plumbing Issues
Common Plumbing Mistakes When you have a plumbing issue, it is best to call a Long Beach
plumbing company instead of trying to deal with it yourself. There are a number of mistakes
that people make that warrant calling a plumbing company in Long Beach. Many people treat
their garbage disposals like a trashcan. While your garbage disposal does make things more
convenient, it should not be treated like a garbage disposal. Potato peels, grease and watermelon
rinds are examples of some things that you should not put in your garbage disposal. If there is
something wrong with your garbage disposal, then you should call a plumber in Long Beach.
Many people also have to call Long Beach plumbers because they flush items down the toilet that

Cubans In America
Between the month of April and the month of September in 1980 more than 125,000 Cubans fled
communism embarking from Port of Mariel to south Florida, United States. More than 1,600 boats
were involved in the exodus. When the Peruvian Embassy opened its doors, the government did not
anticipate the repercussions that it would bring. In just 48 hours more than 10,800 people,
including children and the elderly, entered its borders. So many people came that there wasn t even
anywhere for people to sit down. Faced with this situation and overwhelmed by the pressures of
international support for refugees embassy, the government of Fidel Castrohad no alternative aside
from allowing a new mass exodus of Cubans to the United States. Small yachts with... Show more

The ocean was so calm and stretched as far as the eye could see. It changed color with the light
and the depth, from green to blue to dark blue. At twilight, you can t tell the ocean from the sky.
The sky was so blue and not a cloud could be seen for miles. It made me feel at peace and so
harmonious. There was the scent of saltwater in the air, a scent like no other. There around we
could see sharks swimming calmly in the waters of the Caribbean Sea. They were so beautiful
even though they are predators of the sea. On the boat everyone was very quiet, in fear, with the
only hope of getting to our destination safely. The boat was overcrowded and no one could
move or they would have risked tipping it over and sinking. There were 150 people in a small
boat, mostly family with children. Time went by and after a few hours of sailing we heard the
magic words when the captain yelled, Everybody relax we are out of Cuban territory, you are
free! We are now on international waters . That s when everybody started crying and cheering
with excitement. Time once again began to pass by slowly, and I remember at one point the sky
started painting in an array of pink, orange and yellow, and before long the pale glow of the moon
was beginning to show. Soon enough the sky started to turn black and all the stars starting to shine

The Destruction from the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami and...
The 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami was one of the deadliest and most destructive in recent history. It
was even catastrophic for a country like Maldives that never experienced disasters of such scale.
While some of the islands in Maldives were completely destroyed and a significant number of lives
lost; the damages to economy, infrastructure, environment and human psyche was immeasurable
(Pardasani, 2006, p. 80). Having only dealt with storm surges and localized flooding, there were no
operational plans or capacity to deal with a disaster of this magnitude in Maldives(Government of
Maldives, et al., 2005, p. 9). Despite some organizational shortcomings, mostly owing to their lack
of experience in managing large scale disasters and limited... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Maldivian Scouts were the first among NGOs to respond by taking initiative to report to operation
centre in Male. Scouts across the country were called to be on alert. The cadets and scouts remained
in assisting aid workers in managing temporary accommodation and other delegated tasks.
Following the destructions in islands, communities that were not affected by the tsunami took the
initiative in supplying basic necessities to the neighbouring islands. A national plea for aid was
broadcasted on national and private media (both television and radio station) and updates of
tsunami and its affect were continuously reported on media channels (Haleem, A. Yusuf, A., 2004)
The only local NGOs with enough expertise in community outreach were Society for Health
Education and Care Society which later took a leading role in psychosocial support and counselling
in some focused communities (Pardasani, 2006).
Prior to tsunami, the international organizations in Maldives were very limited. The organizations
that existed were primarily focusing on education and health development (Brown, 2005).
International aid agencies arrived in a very short time. The Pakistan Armed Forces assisted in

Review Of V. C. B. L. T. S. Ramachandran ( B )
For as long as he can remember, V. S. Ramachandran (b. 1951) has been fascinated by any kind of
strange phenomenon in nature. As narrated in chapter 1 (see here), at a very young age he began
collecting seashells from beaches near his home in Madras. In researching the subject, his attention
was drawn to the most peculiar varieties of seashells, such as the carnivorous murex. Soon he added
these unusual specimens to his collection. As he got older, he transferred this interest to abnormal
phenomena in chemistry, astronomy, and human anatomy. Perhaps he intuited that these anomalies
fulfilled some kind of purpose in nature, that what does not fit the pattern has something
interesting to tell us. Perhaps he felt that he himself with his passion for science when other boys
were attracted to sports or games was a bit of an anomaly as well. In any event, as he matured his
attraction to the bizarre and abnormal only grew.
In the 1980s, as a professor of visual psychology at the University of California at San Diego, he
came upon a phenomenon that appealed to his interest in anomalies in the deepest way the so
called phantom limb syndrome. In this case, people who have had a limb amputated continue to
experience sensation and pain where the limb used to be. In his research as a visual psychologist,
Ramachandran had specialized in optical illusions instances in which the brain would incorrectly fill
in information from what the eyes had processed. Phantom limbs represented an

The Price of Concussions in Sports
The documentary, The League of Denial examines the issue of brain injuries in the National
Football League. The film devotes most of its attention to the story of Mike Webster, who died at
the age of fifty as a result of severe brain injuries suffered throughout his playing career. Webster s
story highlights the devastating effect concussions can have in a short timeframe. Because brain
injuries are known to develop quickly it is important that the NFL responds quickly to this
concussioncrisis. The NFL is the most popular professional sports league in the world: according
to Forbes Magazine the NFL generated over $9 billion in revenue this past year. Despite this
success the NFL faces a legitimate threat against brain injuries and concussions. Although the NFL
is popular, they should still be proactive in their fight against concussions because of the amount of
money they generate, the health of their former players, and lastly the willingness of future athletes
to play their sport.
The NFL continues to remain the most lucrative professional league. According to Forbes
Magazine the NFL s 32 teams are worth on average, $1.7 billion, which is more than any other
sports league. In contrast the world s top 20 soccer teams have an average value of $976 million.
The NFL has been successful despite the severe brain injuries that have been suffered by the
athletes of their sport. Even though they continue to generate billions of dollars each year, the NFL
is in danger of losing

The Truth About Autism And Effects On Children
The Truth about Autism and Effects on Children 2
Autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is a developmental disorder that affects the brain. Many children
are affected by Autism. It limits a child s ability to connect, socialize and relate to others. Autism
is a growing disorder and every year more children are born with autism. There is no cure for
autism; there are no known facts about what causes autism in children at an early age, just possible
causes. ASD is reported to occur in all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups (CDC, 2016, p.1).
Autism is a real threat, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) calls it a public
health crisis and estimates that 1 out of every 88 children and 1 out of every 54 boys in the
United States fits the diagnostic criteria (Melillo, 2013, p. 4). Autism is usually diagnosed in the
first three years of life. Pediatricians should screen young children and babies for any delayed
development. Many of these delays including language and social ... Show more content on

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more children are being diagnosed with autism
spectrum disorders than ever before (Allman, 2010, p. 25).
Signs and symptoms of autism include avoiding eye contact, delayed language, whole body
movements, repetitive motor actions like hand flapping or twisting and sensitivities to loud noises.
Also children with autism are often withdrawn. A child with autism may have problems with social
skills and communication skills.
For example, making friends, understanding feelings and sharing toys. In addition, autistic children
may have trouble with understanding words, learning to read and write and repeating words.

Summary Of A Reality Of Their Own By Dave Zirin
The Shape of Dave Zirin s Argument
In the essay, A Reality of Their Own: Jameis Winston, Rape and Seminole Fandom at Florida
State, Dave Zirin argues that people should view Florida State s star quarterback Jameis Winston,
who was wrongly accused of sexual assault, as a model citizen because the school s code of
conduct and the court cleared him of any wrong doing. According to zirin, although no one knows
for sure if Winston is a rapist, many now know how Florida State University handled the situation.
Dave Zirin s argument can also lead to a question of issue regarding why American universities
struggle to resolve sexual assaults properly.
In the beginning of Zirin s essay he provided contextual information about Florida State s mascot.

Meaning that it all comes down to money. So in order to get money what do colleges and
universities do? They cover up. They hide and they try to erase the fact that their all star athletes
are bad people. For example, if Florida State chose to truly act upon the case of Winston fairly,
they would ve banned him out of the football team and he would ve had to face the consequences
of jail time along with being a registered sex offender. If this were to happen FSU would lose a
valuable player which could cause their chances of making it to the Rose Bowl Championships.
Furthermore, it could cause a decrease in student and athletes wanting to attend the university,
therefore leading to lower school funds due to less

  • 3. Analysis Of The Catalan Architect, Antoni Gaudi Originality is returning to the origin, is one of the most famous and often repeated phrase of the Catalan architect, Antoni Gaudi. Gaudi was a devout religious man who believed that nature was the origin and he started encouraging his belief of returning to the primitive basics. He had a great regard for nature as a creation of God and most of his works were informed by an obsessive religious spiritualism, a strong relationship with nature and heavy interest in ecology with an acutely personal impression of design. Hif religious belief and architecture became increasingly intertwined, while he studied organic and anarchic forms of geometry that were derived from nature, seeking a way to give definition to these forms in his architectural designs. His interest and study of nature informed fantastic organic arrangement of forms in one of his famous residential buildings, Casa Mila, and its details. As in all Gaudi s later works, his models and studies made on the site, rather than drawings, had been the key designing method for Casa Mila. He understood the abundant idea of the natural world and expressed it with curved forms, never in straight lines. He also noticed that natural construction tended to require ponderous materials such as stone and wrought iron, mimicking the appearances of muscle, ribs and bone of living organisms. With all these organic models supporting his premises, Gaudi based the design of Casa Mila on a simple religious perception; Considering that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Lumumba Chapter Analysis Fifteen years after it all happened, I sat by my radio...we messengers of goodwill adrift on a sea of mistaken intentions (323). Orleanna s comparison between what was going on in the political arena of the Congo and the private arena of the Price family exemplifies the plot of the two dramas in the novel: the overarching drama in the Congo, contributing the character like setting of the novel, and the more intimate drama in the Price s family life. The details about Lumumba s imprisonment is supplemented by Orleanna s own detailed recollections of her family s struggles: Leah wanting to hunt, Ruth May being sick, having no food, etc. The details about Lumumba s death next to the Price s family struggles also enhance the image perhaps even characterization of the setting as a complex, dynamic and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Kingsolver spends an abundance of both Leah and Rachel s narrations of detailing the horrors of the hunt. In this selection, sentences like Birds hit the wall of fire and lit like bottle rockets portray the true chaos of the event. In this instance, Leah s point of view is useful for descriptions of hunt because she fought right in the middle of it. Leah is surrounded by the fire crackling and the antelopes who did not leap gracefully. Her intimate first person point of view through the use of details enhances the reader s understanding of the insanity of the event. In addition, the brutality of the event as given by gruesome details like dark blood leaked from its delicate black mouth characterizes the population of the whole in Kilanga as having almost animalistic qualities. Rachel extrapolates on this point later, but through Kingsolver s details in Leah s narration, the reader understands the brutish behavior of both the white and the black people of the Congo here; they re starving, just like animals they re ... Sonic Corporation, also known as Sonic Drive In, is a fast food restaurant chain that originated in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. As of 2015, Sonic has 3,526 drive ins across 44 states. The total amount of drive ins includes company and franchise owned. Sonic has operated since the 1950 s and is known for its carhops delivering food to cars on roller skates (Shine). By the time 1953 rolled around, he had partnered up resulting in a walk up root beer stand named Top Hat. The operation brought in astonishing sales resulting in more expansion (Blackburn). It has shaped my past, and all my future decisions will be made through the knowledge I have and will receive as a follower of Jesus Christ and his teachings. I believe the basic holding is pretty simple, just because something might offend someone, it necessarily doesn t mean that it s illegal. The minor premise is more interesting that burning a flag is expressive of a particular political view. The court held that expressive conduct as the same as speech, and the political nature of speech is entitled to the highest protection under the constitution. It was the same scenario with Cohen V. California, he was certainly wearing a jacket that had words that may offend some people but were just his thoughts that he was trying to get across. That also would be a form of expression. Conversely, this disorders maybe highly disregarded in other areas. Ataque De Nervios Ataque De Nervios is an example of cultural bound syndrome among the Hispanics. Illustratively, the disorder is characterized by crying hysterically, rickety, out of control shouting, physical and verbal violence, and an extreme high temperature in the chest. Institutions of higher education need to design and adapt their programs to attract and engage this growing population of students to meet their needs and insure their success. This paper will defines who adult students are, discusses and outline the specific needs they have in higher educationprograms and discusses the barriers they currently encounter. In addition, there will be discussion about best practices to consider, those currently in operation and future concerns for both students and universities. For clarification going forward, I will use the terms non traditional student, adult student, adult learner, non residential student and nontraditional learner interchangeably. The growth of the adult student population in higher educationrequires programs that address and support their specific needs. In January 2012, I returned to JMU after leaving in May of 1982. I began to attend classes on campus in fall 2012. In one of my classes, my professor continually stressed how important it was to engage in the campus community and involved in campus organizations. He really stressed that employers like to see this quality when interviewing candidates. Of course, I began to become concerned because I was not able to do this. • 12. Introduction To Identity The Unknow Acid Solution The purpose of this experiment is to identity the unknow acid solution through determining the Ka value of the reaction experimentally. The colors of unknown acid 3 matches the colors of test tube 1, with thymol blue being light pink, malachite green being dark green and crystal violet being cyan. Comparing it to other 3 test tubes, test tube 2 has a similar result. Both test tube 3 and 4 have higher Ph than 1 and 2, since thymol blue is yellow and crystal violet is purple in test tube 3, rose and blue in test tube 4. Crystal violet is green in test tube 2, which shows that it has a lower ph than test tube 1. So, the order of acidity from most acidic to least acidic is 2143. Dichloroacetic acid is the second strongest in those 4 acids; this suggests that unknown acid 3 is dichloroacetic acid. In a weak acid and strong base titration, the equivalence point would be above 7 due to the reaction occur between the conjugated base and water. This often makes the pH value detectable by Phenolphthalein. Observational Ethnographic Study Divisions of household labour and child care, which have been argued to be markers of love and intimacy, differ to a great deal depending on a couple s gender ideology. Greenstein (1996) undertook an important study drawing on existing qualitative data from the National Survey of Families and Households attained via interviews and surveys, to re examine the relationship between equality and labour. Greenstein (1996) found that egalitarian women are less likely to do more housework than their partners and are more likely to perceive the division of household labour as unjust. • 15. Rhetorical Analysis Of Trifles Alesha Jeter Trifles Rhetoric Essay 5.30.17 The one act play Trifles, by Susan Glaspell, tells the story of a group of people attempting to figure out the murder of a man in their neighborhood. The main suspect in the case is the man s wife and a group of people from the town try to find any incriminating evidence against her in the home. There are five characters in this play, the County Attorney Sheriff Peters, his wife, Mrs. Peters, Hale, a farmer, and his wife, Mrs. Hale. This play thought to be one of the earliest examples of feminine dramas. This is obviously due to the themes of feminism and female stereotypes present in the play. Glaspell uses her power of rhetoric, though it is subtle, to make a point that women shall no longer be neglected or glanced over even though they are at the same level, if not more equipped to do all of the same things men can do. The topic of this play is clearly the capability of women to step out of their stereotype for the time of the obedient wife. This is shown when Mrs. Peters and Mrs. Hale hide the dead canary rather than showing it to the two men. They knew that if they showed the dead bird to the men, then that would be all the information needed to make prove Mrs. Wright s guilt. John Wright was strangled and everyone knew of his temper which would make it obvious that he killed the bird. This, in turn, would make Mrs. Wright want to kill him. It is clear that Glaspell s stance on feminism is adamant support for it. Mrs. Hale and Mrs. Peter commit a crime of their own by hiding incriminating evidence. Mrs. Peters is even worse off since she is the wife of the sheriff. Yet neither of the women flinch as the bird is hidden from the men. They understand why Mrs. Wright would possibly want to do such a thing and they do not think that it is right for her to be punished for defending herself. Hiding the bird goes back into the theme of feminism because while the men thought they had simply let their wives alone to do their women stuff the women had inadvertently solved the case. MRS. The first account set forward by Thrasymachus supports the view that the views of true morality are devised as a reflection of particular political communities. Thrasymachus believes that the definitions of good morality and bad morality set forward by the ruling class are not necessarily correct. In addition, Thrasymachus argues that this is disadvantageous to everyone else and only beneficial to those in power, each ruling group sets down laws for its own advantage (Republic I, 338d). Every time a patient receives professional health care in a physician s office, hospital outpatient facility or ambulatory surgical center (ASC), the provider must document the services provided. The medical coder will abstract the information from the documentation, assign the appropriate codes, and create a claim to be paid, whether by a commercial payer, the patient, or CMS. • 18. Film Analysis Of Carrie The film Carrie (Brian De Palma, 1976) follows the protagonist Carrie White, Sissy Spacek, who is a shy high school student in a small town. White develops telekinetic powers after receiving her first period, which turns her world completely upside down; especially seeing as she did not know what the blood meant. It is not until the end of the filmwhen she starts to embrace her gifts. This imbalance in Paul`s life causes him to be an Other because he has changed his entire life to simply swindle wealthy whites. In Devil in a Blue Dress, director Carl Franklin incorporates references to Delilah from The Imitation of Life (1934), the Black Dahlia, and Oscar Micheaux`s The Betrayal (1948) to suggest that Daphne Monet will always be marked with blackness, despite passing for a white. After getting his assignment to find Todd Carter`s missing fiancГ©, Ezekiel Rawlins begins his search at a black juke joint where the Daphne is known to frequent. At the club, the notion of recognition and misrecognition is employed as Ezekiel asks around for a white girl. Additionally, he begins to misname Daphne by referring to her as Delilah and Dahlia. The reference is an allusion to the 1934 film Imitation of Life. In the film, Delilah is a black homemaker living in a subordinate role to her white friend Beatrice. Despite this subjugation, Delilah is proud of her race. The House on Mango Street is similar to the movie, Stand and Deliver because the characters were judged based on where they lives, the characters have low self esteem, and the females were expected to take care of family. The House on Mango Street is also different from the movie, Stand and Deliver, because of the encouragement the characters received by adults, the relationships the characters build, and the different viewpoint the characters have on where they will be in the future. In my opinion, The House on Mango Street interests me more than Stand and Deliver, because the book leaves you wondering what is going to happen next, allows you to imagine the characters, and it has different storylines.... In the movie, the district did not believe that the students received the high test scores because they lived in poverty. Similar to, how the woman did not allow Esperanza to sit in the cool kids area for lunch since she lived in the apartments. From Stand and Deliver, Pancho did not think he was smart enough to solve the calculus equation on the board. Compared to, Esperanza, who called her feet ugly, we can infer that both characters have low self esteem. The last similarity I want to talk about is the how the female characters were expected to take care of their family. Esperanza had to take care of her sister in the book just as how Lupe had to take care of her siblings because her mom comes home late. This shows that females are expected to take care of ... • 38. Fulvalene Synthesis What fulvalenes are and how can we synthesis fulvalenes containing chalcogen on their molecule type. Compounds like benzophenon, thiobenzophenone and selenobenzophenone are some fulvalenes that contain Oxygen, Sulfur and Selenium. The preparation of those compounds is different for each one, however, benzophenone can be the counteract to synthesise the others. A fulvalene is a hydrocarbon obtained by formally cross conjugating two rings through a common exocyclic double bond. The name is derived from the similarly structured fulvenes which lack one ring. The fulvalene molecule is interesting as an example of a conjugated hydrocarbon for which only dipolar resonance structures can be written, apart from the basic neutral structure, and it has... In such solvent, the primary product of the reaction observed at short reaction times was the corresponding trans stilbene epoxide (3), as expected. This product is due to epoxidation of the C C double bond catalyzed by titanium(IV) centers in the presence of alkyl hydroperoxides and such behavior is fully consistent with several previous observations. In addition, thanks the use of anhydrous TBHP, the reaction proceeded mainly following a heterolytic oxidation pathway and hence with a good selectivity to the desired epoxide. However, at longer reaction times (72 h), the reaction proceeded further and the major observed product was surprisingly benzophenone (5). Even if thiobenzophenone is quite stable, although it photoxidizes in air to form benzophenone and sulfur. Thiobenzophenone is deep blue and dissolves readily in many organic solvents. One of the first reported syntheses of thiobenzophenone involves the reaction of sodium hydrosulfide(2equal) and benzophenone dichloride. However, in the reaction scheme of the second method, a mixture of gaseous hydrogen chloride and hydrogen sulfide are passed into a cooled solution of benzophenone in ethanol. Thiobenzophenone can also ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. U.s. Foreign Policy During The Middle East For over the last two decades the Middle East has gradually gathered attention and has come to the forefront of U.S. foreign policy. The focus on this region began primarily after the attacks on the two World Trade Center s in New York City on September 11th, 2001. Iraq was the initial target in the response to the devastating tragedy. This response involved an indefinite occupation with the intention of eliminating weapons of mass destruction , with intelligence under the Bush Administration allegedly confirming their existence. As this undeclared war on Iraqtook place, U.S. foreign policy was initiated. It consisted of bringing down an authoritarian regime and establishing democracy within the state of Iraq, along with decimating any potential threats to the U.S. homeland. The major threat lying with terrorist organizations in the region such as Al Qaeda, who were to blame for the 9/11 attacks on U.S. soil. Eventually the deployment of troops into Iraq was left without any particular cause, due to the revelation that Saddam Hussein s regime had no possession of any nuclear weapons. And as U.S. troops struggled to figure out exactly what they were fighting for, an insurgency began to emerge. Is the U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East the cause of insurgency in the region along with the eventual formation of militant groups such as ISIS? The policies carried out by the United Statesconsisted of establishing order and democracy in a state while also preventing any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It made me feel at peace and so harmonious. There was the scent of saltwater in the air, a scent like no other. There around we could see sharks swimming calmly in the waters of the Caribbean Sea. They were so beautiful even though they are predators of the sea. On the boat everyone was very quiet, in fear, with the only hope of getting to our destination safely. The boat was overcrowded and no one could move or they would have risked tipping it over and sinking. There were 150 people in a small boat, mostly family with children. Time went by and after a few hours of sailing we heard the magic words when the captain yelled, Everybody relax we are out of Cuban territory, you are free! We are now on international waters . That s when everybody started crying and cheering with excitement. Time once again began to pass by slowly, and I remember at one point the sky started painting in an array of pink, orange and yellow, and before long the pale glow of the moon was beginning to show. It was even catastrophic for a country like Maldives that never experienced disasters of such scale. While some of the islands in Maldives were completely destroyed and a significant number of lives lost; the damages to economy, infrastructure, environment and human psyche was immeasurable (Pardasani, 2006, p. 80). Having only dealt with storm surges and localized flooding, there were no operational plans or capacity to deal with a disaster of this magnitude in Maldives(Government of Maldives, et al., 2005, p. 9). • 44. Review Of V. C. B. L. T. S. Ramachandran ( B ) For as long as he can remember, V. S. Ramachandran (b. 1951) has been fascinated by any kind of strange phenomenon in nature. As narrated in chapter 1 (see here), at a very young age he began collecting seashells from beaches near his home in Madras. In researching the subject, his attention was drawn to the most peculiar varieties of seashells, such as the carnivorous murex. Soon he added these unusual specimens to his collection. As he got older, he transferred this interest to abnormal phenomena in chemistry, astronomy, and human anatomy. Perhaps he intuited that these anomalies fulfilled some kind of purpose in nature, that what does not fit the pattern has something interesting to tell us. Perhaps he felt that he himself with his passion for science when other boys were attracted to sports or games was a bit of an anomaly as well. In any event, as he matured his attraction to the bizarre and abnormal only grew. In the 1980s, as a professor of visual psychology at the University of California at San Diego, he came upon a phenomenon that appealed to his interest in anomalies in the deepest way the so called phantom limb syndrome. In this case, people who have had a limb amputated continue to experience sensation and pain where the limb used to be. In his research as a visual psychologist, Ramachandran had specialized in optical illusions instances in which the brain would incorrectly fill in information from what the eyes had processed. Webster s story highlights the devastating effect concussions can have in a short timeframe. Because brain injuries are known to develop quickly it is important that the NFL responds quickly to this concussioncrisis. The NFL is the most popular professional sports league in the world: according to Forbes Magazine the NFL generated over $9 billion in revenue this past year. Despite this success the NFL faces a legitimate threat against brain injuries and concussions. Although the NFL is popular, they should still be proactive in their fight against concussions because of the amount of money they generate, the health of their former players, and lastly the willingness of future athletes to play their sport. The NFL continues to remain the most lucrative professional league. According to Forbes Magazine the NFL s 32 teams are worth on average, $1.7 billion, which is more than any other sports league. In contrast the world s top 20 soccer teams have an average value of $976 million. Many children are affected by Autism. It limits a child s ability to connect, socialize and relate to others. Autism is a growing disorder and every year more children are born with autism. There is no cure for autism; there are no known facts about what causes autism in children at an early age, just possible causes. ASD is reported to occur in all racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic groups (CDC, 2016, p.1). Autism is a real threat, The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) calls it a public health crisis and estimates that 1 out of every 88 children and 1 out of every 54 boys in the United States fits the diagnostic criteria (Melillo, 2013, p. 4).
