Julius Caesar Movie Vs Play
Making a movie to be watch worthy for a good book is almost rare. Nevertheless, it is common
to hear those who like reading to pries a movie, which made based on a book that they read. Yet,
when it comes to William Shakespeare, it is different because the plies that he wrote are just a
ready script for acting. Julius Caesar is one of Shakespeare s most famous plays because of
many reasons and one of them is that the real story was a critical point in history. In fact, the play
reflects an actual occasion of Shakespeare s time and that is one way this great writer express the
concerns of the people about the succession, as Professor of English literature at University of St.
Thomas, Ann Bradley says. In this essay, I will examine some of the... Show more content on

For example, in act 1 scene 2, and when Cassius was talking to Brutus and telling him an old
story of him and Caesar, and in the middle of his talk Brutus left. This something is not
mentioned in the play, but the director added it in order to make the scene more dramatic; and to
give an impression to the audience that Brutus gets board of Cassius story. Another significant
addition, the only appear in the movie is the body language of Marcus Antony which is not
mentioned in the book but that is something the director has hand on. To conclude, I have to
mention that I had watched another BBC movie as well but I choose to write about Alan Bridge
s version and write comment based on it because I think it is better than (Julius Caesar 1979).
Beside the points I bring up in this article like sticking to the original text, visual effects and
adjustment of director in some scene, I have to admit that I am a visual person. Though, it does not
mean I did not enjoy the reading as well as watching the movie, but I still think the movie have
advantages over the book because of the three points that I mentioned in the

Biblical Imagery Of The Bible Essay
Vivid images, from visions, to detailed explanation and accounts of places and events, to symbolic
imagery used to explain parables, or teach and encourage the first century churches are driving
forces within the Biblical text. Metaphorical language, by virtue of the fact that it preserves the
literal meaning of the symbol, while intending an analogical secondary meaning, is able to
communicate profound truths about reality, mainly by creating an alternative, symbolic way of
seeing and understanding the world. (Liubinskas, Susann. 404) Throughout the New Testament of
the Bible the most commonly used images are the: body of Christ, and vine imagery. These
images work together to create a powerful example of the necessity for unity among individual
believers, and that unity tying them Christ. However before discussing how Biblical imagery
explains unity with Christ, one first must understand what unity with Christ is. According to the
Baker Theological Dictionary, unity with Christ is more than mimicking the life of Christ. Rather
it is the present experience of the risen Christ indwelling the believer s heart by the Spirit. (Elwell,
Walter A .789) Being In Christ can be interpreted as the intimate interconnectedness between Christ
and believers. (Elwell, Walter A. 789) Biblical imagery is used through the entire text to allow
clear understanding this calling and what it looks like in the life of believers. (This is a terrible
sentence.) Comparison between the body

The Blind Side By Michael Oher
Most movies are predictable and don t connect with people in special ways. They are made for the
entertainment, not to tell an actual story. Sometimes one can dig deep into your heart and tug at the
strings. The award winning movie, The Blind Side, is a true story about a less privileged, African
American, Teenage boy, Michael Oher, who is taken in by a white Christian family, the Tuohy s.
Oher is then placed on the football team and becomes an all star Football player with the love of
the Tuohy s supporting him. Directed by John Lee Hancock and feature Sandra Bullock (Leigh Ann
Touhy), Quinton Aaron (Michael Oher) and Tim McGraw(Sean Tuohy), The Blind Side is a movie
that encourages and motivates people that not all hope is lost. Michael is out of relevance when
it comes to his family and his new school. He has been raised in a drug haven, ran down side of
the city, and the Tuohy s are a rich, proper family in the middle of Memphis. Michael was
homeless at the time the Tuohy s took him in. He was showering and sleeping in his school.
Once he is taken in, he is enrolled in a Christian school where he was the only colored boy in
school. Being taken in by this family really impacts Michael in ways no one would have ever
thought. As you watch this movie, you experience both sadness and joy as you watch Big Mike
go from being homeless to becoming a famous football star. One of the saddest parts of the movie
is when Mrs. Tuohy goes looking for Michael mother and you get a

Nuclear Energy Pros And Cons
Some may ask what is nuclear energy the dictionary defines this as:
nuclear energy
n.
1. The energy released by a nuclear reaction, especially by fission or fusion.
2. Nuclear energy regarded as a source of power. Also called atomic energy
Nuclear power was first known to be researched in the early 1900 s, and by the world war; it
reached its greatest peak by demonstrating to the world its power to destroy. Nuclear energy can be
good or bad, depending on how the person works with this material; it is used for both sides good

States have fought DOE s efforts on the grounds that the site is unsafe, pointing to potential

However, DOE contends that the evidence so far indicates that the places that they have chosen are
likely to prove suitable and that studies of the site should continue.
The safety of geological disposal of highly radioactive waste depends highly on the characteristics
of the rock formations around it from which a repository would be hollowed out. Many geological
formations are believed to have remained undisturbed for millions and millions of years, it appeared
technically possible to isolate radioactive materials from the environment until they decayed high
enough so that the level of the radioactive material is not harmful.
Scientific confidence about the subject on the deep geologic disposal has been more difficult to
apply to specific sites. Every high level waste site that has been proposed by DOE discoveries of
unacceptable flaws, such as groundwater flows or earthquake vulnerability, that could release
radioactivity into the environment, this is not good for nature.

Catholic Church Experience
The Sacred Heart Cathedral is of the Roman Catholic religion. The Roman Catholic church was
created when the Eastern and Western churches divided in 1054, with the Roman Catholic church
coming from the Western church (Matlins). Coming from a Methodist background I found Roman
Catholicism interesting because out of all the various Christian denominations it appeared to be the
most different from the Protestant and Orthodox sectors of Christianity(Brodd). It is intriguing that
one religion can have various practices and ways of worship. After and during Mass I was able to
compare the Methodist religion and Roman Catholic religion to each other. Through formulating
questions and expectations, observation, listening, and taking in the surroundings... Show more

to leave. This was when I noticed that there was a Holy Water Fountain on the wall to the left of
the doors that opened to the outside. I observed several individuals deep their fingers into the
water to make a cross by touching their forehead, chest, and shoulders. Right outside of the
cathedral the officiants stood and greeted each individual as they left the service. I felt very
comfortable going up to the officiants and shaking their hands. Their presence and appearance was
very inviting for individuals whether you were a guest or not. Neither did the Priest nor bulletin
make a suggestion that there was a reception after the service. The majority of the congregation

Murder Mystery Persuasive Essay
Getting revenge on a person for something they did previously because feeling as though they
did not get proper repercussions is often a recurring reason someone uses to try to justify actions
they do. In Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie, Samuel Ratchett, whose name is
actually Cassetti, is murdered in the middle of the night by twelve fellow passengers because of a
particular kidnapping he does years earlier, Daisy Armstrong. Hercule Poirot sets out to find out
who kills Ratchett. He originally suspects that it is just one person, but soon figures out that twelve
people were apart of the vicious attack. Vengeance is described as Punishment inflicted or
retribution exacted for an injury or wrong , while justice is described... Show more content on

For example, the murderers begin warning Ratchett of his approaching death with ominous letters.
The group constantly sends threatening letters, and notes about the Armstrong case to Ratchett that
eventually starts to make him seem paranoid and crazy. People around him just believe he is
losing his mind, so they ignore him until he is actually dead. Furthermore, the assassins attempt to
mislead the detectives when they purposely leave belongings of the murderer in Ratchett s room
to make it seem as though they are trying to incriminate that person. Colonel Arbuthnot is the only
person on the train who admits to smoking using a pipe, so the pipe cleaner found in Ratchett s
room makes it seem as though someone is trying to frame him. This makes the detectives feel as
though Colonel is innocent, which is another example of the processed thinking the murderers do.
Finally, Ratchett is stabbed twelve time, which is both a metaphor, and part of the revenge. The
group feels as though proper justice is not served in the Armstrong, so they stab Ratchett twelve
time symbolizing twelve jury members, as well as a stab for each other as revenge. Poirot realizes
the connection when he says, And then, Messieurs, I saw light. They were all in it. . . . A jury is
composed of twelve people there were twelve passengers Ratchett was stabbed twelve times (306).
The metaphor and emotion behind the stabbing makes it clear that the murder of Ratchett is an act
of pure vengeance. In conclusion, the most meticulous manner the murder is conducted is the
manner in which the murder is

Greg Gage
Greg Gage explains that the brain is a fascinating organ. He adds that not much is known about
how the brain works because neuroscience is not being taught in schools. This is because the
equipment needed to study neuroscience is extremely complex and expensive that this research is
only completed at large institutions and major universities. In order to use these tools, one must
devote their life and study for about six years to gain access to these materials. His lab partner and
himself brought it upon themselves to create an affordable, simplified version of this equipment
that virtually anybody could use. They created a company called Backyard Brians that uses DIY
neuroscience equipment. He wanted to put his new technology to use, so... Show more content on

Schools all across the country claim the main reason for no doing so, as of now, is because they do
not have the proper technology to teach the topic effectively. Fortunately, the technology that Gage
has created is an affordable and efficient solution to the school s dilemma. By teaching basics of the
science, children may have an inclination to study neuroscience in later years, such as college. The
few amount of neuroscientists in the world now can be blamed on schools for not giving
baseline information to students, and therefore not allowing them to become interested
neuroscience. Traditionally, even if one expressed enthusiasm in the topic, it would take years
of schooling until one could even use the tools available for scientists. Twenty percent of the
world suffer from a neurological disorder, and no cure has been found for these diseases. This is
partly because of the fact that not many people study neuroscience and therefore is a lack of
information in the field. By using Gage s new technology in schools to help explain neuroscience,
the topic would become more popular, and because of this, society as a whole could grow to learn
more about the study of the brain, which would benefit everybody in the long

Every organization has specific purchasing objectives, policies, procedures, organizational
structures, and systems. Business marketers need to be aware of the following organization trends
in the purchasing area.
Purchasing Up Grading: The new, more strategically oriented purchasing departments have been
changed, from old fashion fashion departments with an emphasis on buying at the lowest cost, to
procurement departments with a mission to seek the best value from fewer and better suppliers.
Some multinationals have even elevated to strategic supply departments with responsibility for
global sourcing and partnership.
Cross functional Roles: Most purchasing professionals describe their job as less clerical, more
strategic, technical, team oriented, and involving more responsibility than even before. Sixty one
percent of buyers surveyed said the buying group was more involved in new product design and
development than it was five years ago; more than half the buyers participate in cross functional
teams, with suppliers well represented.
Central Purchasing: In multidivisional companies, most purchasing is carried out by separate
divisions because of their different needs. Some companies, however, have started to centralize
their purchasing. Headquarters identifies materials purchased by several divisions and buys them

The Importance Of Being Successful As A Student
What is considered to have the key to success? Quoted by Charlie White The most important
thing is being passionate about what you re doing and always give it your all. That is the key to
success. All students have had the over whelming amount of stress to be successful. Stressing to

We wonder if all of our routines and tips used for school workactually guarantee our successas a
student. As it may only help somewhat and not give us the result we desire. Our mindset and
amount of work provided guarantees our success. Being successful as a student requires
determination, preparing for situations you will encounter as a student, and stopping
procrastination in its tracks.
First off, as a successful student you need to have a positive outlook on each situation you are
given. To succeed by trying your best is a part of determination. As students if we don t have any
determination than what do we have left to get any work completed? We have to have motivation
to get through doing any type of work provided. If we don t get any work done it means, we have
incomplete the task given which is not being successful or putting in your 100% effort. Being
determined requires getting task done efficiently and accomplishing goals. A real life situation of
this can be found everywhere and in everything you do. Determination can be found in school,

Nuclear Weapons Make The World A Safer Place
Debate Leadership Presentation October 21: Nuclear weapons make the world a safer place
POSITION: NO In order to determine whether or not nuclear weapons create a safer world, one
must consider what it means to be safe. According to Oxford Dictionaries, the word safe is
defined as being protected from or not exposed to danger or risk, not likely to be harmed or lost.
How can something so powerfully destructive be associated with safety? In addition to this, one
may ask safe for who? Nuclear weapons pose a legitimate threat to many aspects of life, both
immediate and long term. These intense consequences have been documented over time. The World
Health Organization has stated that nuclear weapons can create the greatest human catastrophe, for
which health services in the world could not alleviate the situation in any significant way. It is not
possible to win a nuclear war. There is no effective outcome and certainly no safe outcome. When
a confrontation takes place between alliances that possess nuclear weapons, there is the possibility
of unintentional escalation created by a false warning or unauthorized launch. This almost took
place in 1979 due to the fact that a training tape by NATO was mistaken as being real. Even an
alliance with many nuclear weapons is not safe against attack. A successful first strike, if able to
even target one hundred nuclear bursts, has the potential to abolish any nation s civilization. The
first and perhaps most obvious threat is

Describe The Dark Ages
You ve probably heard about the big and scary Roman Empire, or the rise of the renaissance, but
it seems like most people don t notice that there were actually 1000 years in between those
historic events. Those who do know about it call this time period the Dark Ages because of its
lack of progression. This statement however is actually contrary to the truth; in fact there is
probably a lot of everyday things that wouldn t even be existent if the Dark Ages didn t happen.
In this essay we will learn about some of those things and why I believe the Dark Ages is an
inappropriate term used to describe this time period, that should instead be more commonly known
as the Middle Ages. Though media sources like The American Cyclopedia were interpreted in a
way which made the Dark Ages a bad thing; it wasn t intended to be that way. But instead it was
intended to mean that we didn t have a good grasp of what happened in that time period. Once

Thomas Woodrow Wilson
Thomas Woodrow Wilson Thomas Woodrow Wilson was born in the small town of Staunton,
Virginia on December 29, 1856 or, as other sources say, the 28 of December. He was the third of

Wilson. Tommy was only at the age of two years when his family moved to Augusta, Georgia.
Then, two years later the civil war had started and, while the war was going on, his dad had
changed the church into a confederate hospital. Curious about the soldiers, Tommy often would

Youth Gangs
Youth participation in gangs actually decreased from 1996 to 2004, but the violence within these
gangs has not. Homicides committed by youth gang members still remain as a monumental
problem across the United States of America. The Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency
Prevention reported in its 2004 survey of youth gangs that there were an estimated 760,000 gang
members that year. Many of the kids affiliated with gangs come from lower income, single parent
homes; therefore, the youths of America often turn to gangs to fill the void of not being part of a
family . To combat this problem and save our youth from a life of malfeasance, the people of the
communities of America must take a stand against the negative influences that impact these youths.
Violence within Youth Gangs of America
The term gang can be associated with a number of different things but, for this paper, the term
gangs will be in reference to youth gangs; youth gangs are considered to consist of adolescents
and young adults from the ages of 12 to 24 (Decker and Howell, 1999, p.1). Gangs have been a
normal part of United States culture for centuries now, a sad but also, very true statement. What
started out as a group of friends wearing their favorite color and protecting their neighborhood from
crime has turned into a problem of epic proportion across the United States of America. In earlier
years gangs were only a problem for poor communities within the big cities. But during this day and

This research paper focuses on how IT audits are done and how they can help in assisting an
organization in its regulatory compliance effort by identifying information security weaknesses
prior to an external audit. The key players and their roles are defined, as well as organizational,
results based, point in time systems and extended period audits. This leads to a natural question. In
this new world of connected GRC, what is the role of internal audit compared to compliance?
Where do these roles remain separate and where do they share responsibilities? How can these
professionals work together to drive business value?
This paper can help in understanding how the board, management, and internal audit each have a
significant role in ensuring information security is effective. We can learn that internal auditingcan
also help prepare the organization for an external regulatory audit (SOX or HIPAA, for example) by
evaluating management s efforts and providing recommendations for improvement prior to the
external audit. This can help in understanding that IT security audits contribute to an organization s

Persuasive Essay Boxing
Humans have always found one on one fighting to be an intriguing activity to watch. Whether it is
an unregulated street fight, or a regulated sport like boxing. There is nothing like watching boxers
fight and sweat until one of them gives up and falls. The rules of boxing are straight forward.
However, it is a very complex sport that requires intense training and conditioning. There are no
time outs and there are no teammates who can help the boxers in the ring. It is the ultimate sport
that requires strength, discipline and skills. although, there are many controversies surrounding the
sport, professional boxingshould not be banned because it is a safe and technical sport that boxers

One of the most controversial topics surrounding boxing is safety. Boxers step in to the ring to
throw punches at each other s faces and test their limits. However, over the years, safety
precautions have improved significantly. Every professional match is chosen very carefully. The
boxing commission makes sure that boxers don t over fight themselves. The weight classes are
much more detailed now. Besides, weight and height of the boxers are not the only criteria for a

aspect of boxing are the gloves. They protect both boxers during the fight. The amount of force

Many people have probably heard of a musical by Rodgers and Hammerstein. They wrote the
music and lyrics for many theatre classics, including The Sound of Music, Oklahoma!, The King
and I, Carousel and South Pacific. Since their collaboration in the 1940 s and 1950 s, their musicals
have been viewed by many, and their songs have become classics. Although they were not the only
innovators in musical theatre, Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote many popular musicals, used new
techniques, and won many awards; therefore, they left a lasting imprint on the theatrical world. The
successful collaboration of Richard Rodgersand Oscar Hammerstein IIbegan when their
relationships with other composers and lyricists began to fail. In 1920, the two met... Show more

The first musical they wrote together was Oklahoma. Though Walter Winchell said No gags, no
girls, no chance, Rodgers and Hammerstein knew that Oklahoma would be a hit. Rodgers wife
left him a note on his pillow one day after rehearsal that said: Darling, this is the best musical
show I ve ever seen. Oklahoma premiered on Broadway on March 31, 1943, and it ran 2,212
performances over five years. After its time on Broadway, Oklahoma went on an 11 year national
tour. In 1955, Oklahoma was made into a film. The most famous songs from this show are Oh,
What a Beautiful Mornin , People Will Say We re in Love , Surrey With the Fringe on Top , and
Oklahoma! After the astounding success of Oklahoma, Rodgers and Hammerstein wrote the
musical Carousel. Carousel was based on Ferenc MolnГЎr s play Liliom. It is about the separate
yet connected love plots of Billy Bigelow and Julie Jordan and Carrie Pipperidge and Enoch Snow,
and it includes hits such as You ll Never Walk Alone , If I Loved You , and June is Bustin Out All

May 24, 1947. In 1956, a film version was made; it starred Gordon MacRae and Shirley Jones, the

Hardware Implementation Of Impedance Inverter And...
ABSTRACT The aim of this project is to do simulation and hardware implementation of
Impedance inverter and controlling speed of three phase induction motor. In Impedance inverter
one control circuit which has elements like L C which is known as impedance network in which L
is connected in series C is connected in parallel. By creating short through fault in this network, we
can get voltage Buck or Boost. This is the main advantage of impedance inverter. This impedance
inverter is applying to control speed of an induction motor. In CSI and VSI techniques which
Produces undesirable harmonics. This harmonic results in reduction in efficiency of induction
motor speed control. By using this inverter the harmonics are reduced which helps in giving better
variable speed for speed control of induction motor. In this impedance inverter consists of two
inductors and two capacitors which acts as filter that reduces harmonics And it can also be
effectively reduce the voltage stress across the capacitors in the impedance network. This reduces
the voltage range of the capacitors used, and also the cost of the proposed Method. FIGURE

Elizabeth I and the Spanish Armada Essay
Elizabeth I and the Spanish Armada
The cold, stormy night was all too familiar to the English. A devious plan by Spain s king, Philip
II, was being formed to overthrow Queen Elizabeth I of England and rid the world of the English
heretics. 1 It was a story of deception, false judgments, and poor planning. What was one king s
dream turned into his country s nightmare. While the Spanish had bad leaders, the English had
good ones. The Spanish had bigger, but slower ships, while the English had smaller and faster
ships. The English knew the weather conditions and how to prepare for them, while the Spanish
thought it would not be a problem. The English entered the battle in a calm manner, while the
Spanish were overconfident. All of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the beginning of her reign, she made the Church of England the official religion of England
and she fashioned her court after that of her fathers. For a woman during that era, Elizabeth was a
very daring and smart ruler. For example, she secretly encouraged sailors such as Francis Drake to
make raids on Spanish shipping and challenge their naval superiority. When she was a little girl,
she was well educated and was able to speak several languages, including French, Spanish, and
Latin. In addition, throughout Elizabeth s reign, there was always the threat of hostilities in some
form or another. Elizabeth kept the peace between rival leaders of different religions by
dominating her court so she could keep the balance of power.2 She was smart enough to come up
with a plan which kept the church at bay with their questions of marriage.3 She also calmed the
Spanish and the French by entertaining suitors of each respective country; Philip II of Spain and
Duke of Anjou of France, but she never married either of them and was therefore known as the
Virgin queen .4 Elizabeth was a Protestant queen who was not always on good terms with most
Catholic rulers of Europe. Because of that, there were several assassination plots against her so the
Catholics could put Mary, Queen of Scots, in her place. During the 1580 s, Elizabeth began to
bring her full weight onto the catholic rebels. Hundreds of Catholics died at the stake just as the

Symptoms And Symptoms Of Schizophrenia Essay
Schizophrenia has been described as severe disturbances in thoughts that affect the loss of contact
with reality (Ward, 2015). A key characteristic of this severe brain disorder includes hallucinations
(illusionary perceptions that are not shared by others, i.e. sensory hallucinations, namely auditory)
(Ward, 2015). In order to be diagnosed with schizophrenia, one must show instances of both
positive and negative symptoms along with their impaired ability to live a normal functioning life
(Ward, 2015). In fact, 60% 70% of schizophrenic patients meet the criteria for hallucinations
(Jardri, Pouchet, Pins, Thomas, 2011). Even though hallucinations can include any of the five
senses, Audio Verbal Hallucinations (AVH) is the most common (Jardri et al., 2011). It is widely
known that at least in 25% of patients, who experience hallucinations are also resistant to
medications resulting in the decrease of quality of life for such individuals (Jardri et al., 2011;
Sommer et al., 2008). To add on, therapeutic treatments for despairing symptoms of schizophrenia
are seldom. Previous studies have used functional imaging in order to assess neuropathological
mechanisms of schizophrenia. In such studies, psychologists scan activation in the cerebral cortex
during hallucinations however, sample sizes have been small (Sommer et al., 2008). Theories of
AVH have stated that it could be a result of deviant perceptions that are generated within auditory
regions of the brain (Jardri et al.,

Popular Sovereignty Debate
In today s time, the concept of popular sovereignty is used for making decisions about topics
such as abortion and marijuana; however, in 1858, popular sovereignty was about giving the
right to citizens of a state or territory to decide for themselves whether slavery should be legal in
that state or territory (Dudley 154). The topic of popular sovereignty was a pressing debate point
between the two men running for a U.S. Senate seat in 1858 (Dudley 154). Stephen Douglas was
the Illinois U.S. senator who played crucial roles in passing the Compromise of 1850 and the
Kansas Nebraska Act of 1854 (Dudley 154). His opponent was Abraham Lincoln, a successful self
taught lawyer turned congressman, who later went on to win the presidential race of 1860 (Dudley
156). Mr. Douglas believed that popular sovereignty should be the deciding factor on the question
of slavery(Dudley 154); whereas, Abraham Lincoln felt that slavery was an issue too large to be
decided upon by a vote of the people (Dudley 158). Acknowledging that the Union was built upon
the belief in sovereignty of the states, and there was in fact no reference to negroes in the
Declaration of Independence should compel one to agree with Mr. Douglas and see where Mr.
Lincoln was wrong (Dudley 155).
For all of the reasons that one should believe that Mr. Douglas s fight for popular sovereignty is
the right fight, the biggest is that the Union was built on the belief of popular sovereignty and has

Douglas being a Democrat and Mr. Lincoln being a Republican, it was inevitable that they
would have differing views on how to handle the issue of slavery. Slavery may have been a much
deeper issue than those of the ones we have today, but popular sovereignty should still be the way
that one sees to be the right choice to solve slavery. Many could say that both men were right in
their own ways, however, one should be able to see that Mr. Douglas s arguments were stronger

1.Introduction
Sexual addiction has become rapidly recognized as a significant social problem with similarities
better recognized to drug addiction and alcohol or compulsive gambling. sexual addicts refers to
individuals who engage in persistent, as well as, escalating patterns of sexual behaviour acted out
regardless of the increasingly negative impact to the self and others. To begin with copulation or
coitus, sexual intercourse is the physical union between a man and woman, for reproduction,
sexual pleasure or both. The act involves a high level of physical intimacy and contributes
immensely to human bonding. This is because, sex is associated with emotional and physical
pleasure therefore creating a connection between the people involved. However, some people tend
to overdo the act of sex to a point that they become dependent on it leading to a sexual addiction.
This paper aims at discussing sexual addiction, its causes, effects and characteristics.
II.Literature review
According to Carnes (15) sexual addiction is a clinical condition referred to in the medical spheres
as progressive intimacy disorder. The addiction involves spending long periods preoccupied with

The Rise Of Pop Art
In the 1940s the United States and the allies were in the midst of a deadly war against their Nazi
German counterparts, World War II officially ended in 1945 and the Allies were victorious. In
the early 1950s the post war economic boom in both the United States of America and Great
Britain, gave the people optimism and money to spend as the super markets were filled with all
kinds of consumer goods . The economy was good and people were happy.
Capitalizing on the post war economic boom of the 1950s were advertisers. Advertising persuaded
many, it told people what was popular, what was good, and what to buy. Advertising and glossy
magazines were found everywhere, in the street, the highway, and even at the comfort of your own
house as you opened the newspaper. This mass marketing phenomenon was incorporated with the
rise of Pop Art. It paved the way for iconic artist such as Andy Warholand Jasper Johns .
With the rise of this bona fide American phenomenon also brought critics. Critics asked and
wondered how a can of soup or a soft drink could be considered art. Pop artist, Andy Warhol
responded by stating, Art is what you can get away with. What made pop art popular? It was brash,
transient, witty, hostile, young, mass produced, and most importantly it was low cost .
Pop art was the new art movement of the 1950s and 1960s, it was the successor of the art
movement of a decade earlier. In the 1940s abstract expressionism was all the rage in the United
States, it was

Analysis Of The Imposter
The Imposter made in 2012, is a film tale that follows the chronicles of Frederic Bourdin, a con
artist, who managed to trick an unsuspecting family into believing he was a long lost relative. Bart
Layton directed this documentary and uses unconventional techniques to unravel this complicated,
unbelievable story.
2) What are some of the themes that are central to the film? How have they been communicated?
Bart Layton built this doc not from one perspective, but from a collection of them. Some stories,
like The Imposter need a panoptic approach to connect the audience to the film. The themes of
manipulation, identity and love are the main themes conveyed by Layton. These themes are
communicated through sounds and visual imagery. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
8) What is the tone or feeling of the film and what is its impact?
Bart Layton uses a wide variety of techniques and devices to convey the emotional tone of the
documentary. The constant change of character s perceptions and slow unraveling of mysteries
caused inpatient viewers wanting more. The documentary was designed to reflect on the antihero,
FrГ©dГ©ric Bourdin s past. The Imposter uses reenactments and interviews to unfold a murky feel,
where truth and fiction morph in an enchanting double helix. Bart Layton highlights Bourdin s life
rather than focusing on Nicholas Barclay. With so many different feelings flooding the audience at
once, Layton allows time for the audience to reflect and find conclusions for the unsolved mystery.
Suspicion is raised from the beginning of the film, but shifts to various players as the film unfolds.
The imposter himself, has a simultaneously engaging and repellant personality. Bourdin s audacity
in impersonating a missing American child is breathtaking. The fact that he fooled the Barclay
family and the FBI is beyond comprehension. It is this tone of incredulity that Layton expertly
manipulates in the viewer. Who to trust? Who is telling the truth? What happened to Nicholas?
Where is this missing child?
The dramatic tone of the film has only one lighthearted moment. The drive from Dallas Airport,
shot in bright light with

long has this been going on? I ask. This has been happening for many years now, for as long as

look back at me, If you do not mind me asking. What exactly are you traveling for? I scratch the
back of my head, I never really questioned that myself. I just wanted to get out and experience new
things, I pause for a quick second, I guess to find myself. With a face of concern, he stands at the
top of the stairs, between the light and dark, I believe something was looking for you, he tells me
before crossing into the darkness and leaving me in silence. It is unbearable. Even in the house
there is no noise. It is the silence that drives me crazy and unsettles me. For the life of me, I
cannot bring myself to close my eyelids no matter how hard I try. I am not sure when the singing
started again since I am not able to see any light coming from the sky through the distorted
window. It is the sound of footsteps, that turns my attention away from the rippled glass, and I
watch as the girl, in her slumber, walks slowly to the door and unlocks it. Quickly, I rush from the
couch and touch her arm.

Humanity vs. Perfection: A Study of Two Sonnets
Loving someone with your heart and loving someone with your mind are two very different kinds
of love. bgt correlates to how the speakers of Sonnet 18 and 130 describe their mistresses (the one
they love or at least hold in high regard). Sonnet 18 uses the sonnet to describe his mistress s
beauty on a superficial level and to at the end of the sonnet, reassure himself and others that his
sonnet will be preserved throughout time without being forgotten nor destroyed. He immortalizes

He also attracts readers towards admiring his mistress when comparing her to a summer s day
because he knows the high value a lot of viewers hold for a perfect summer s day. When a person
thinks of a summer s day, the shining sun, scorching heat, blooming flowers and the gentle
winds generally come to mind. The speaker is clever in such a way that he informs the viewers
that his mistress is above a summer s day and that she is more lovely and temperate than a
summer s day. As everyone knows, eventually summer ends and every fair from fair sometime
declines but not his mistress. His mistress s eternal summer shall not fade and will never lose

constant and maybe, increase throughout the trials of time, when in eternal lines to time thou

environmental factor that affects the resident s healths has to
do with how most of the buildings in these neighborhoods
are run down and infested with rats. Many of the buildings
have no working elevators. This causes people to have to
walk several flights of stairs each time they want to leave
their apartments. This is very time consuming and tiresome.
Then, when they find that there is so much violence and
drugs in the street, that it is not safe to be out there anyway,
they usually end up staying in their apartments for most of
their free time.
The cultural differences between these people and others of
higher income communities is also a
reason why they may have problems. Racism is very
obvious to the people of the South Bronx, especially
when they go outside of their district. If a woman from this
area goes to a hospital outside of her
district, a hospital that is more than likely wealthier and
cleaner, she is usually turned away and told to go to a
hospital in her own district. Others, who are admitted into
these hospitals, are put on a special floor, mainly for the
lower income or Medicaid patients. (Amazing Grace, p.

Another way the government discriminates against them is
how they are housed. Most of the
residents are living in government housing where the
government pays their rent. When the government

Alice s Wonderland And Through The Looking Glass By Lewis...
Navigating the Unknown
Adventure tales are driven by the presence of strange lands, as characters venture to and through
them, finding fantastical things they have never seen before. In Alice s Adventures in Wonderland
and Through the Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll, Alice enters a nonsensical world where both the
location and the rules of the world itself are foreign. The characters Alice meets do not follow the
rules of the real world, so she must navigate both the terrain and the logic of Wonderland to return
home. Robert Louis Stevenson s Treasure Island follows a similar pattern, where Jim travels to a
faraway island which he only knows as a map until he arrives. As Jim travels to the Treasure Island,
he discovers that the people around him are not as honest as they seem to be, throwing him into
situations that follow rules and traditions known only to pirates. In addition to traversing an
unfamiliar land, both protagonists apply their known conventions to their respective interactions,
but face problems as a result that drive the story forward.
When Alice first enters Wonderland, she is confronted with a land that mimics her own, but
brimming with variations that make it difficult for her to understand every aspect of it. Once
Alice completes her fall, she finds a room full of locked doors and a key that only fits a tiny door
that leads to the loveliest garden you ever saw, and she [longs to] ... wander about among those

antebellum era. An African American slave (Django) is freed from a slave chain by a German
bounty hunter posing as a traveling dentist (Dr. Schultz). In exchange for helping Schultz locate and
kill three outlaws with large bounties that Schultz has never seen, Schultz promises to free Django
and subsequently promises to show and teach Django bounty hunting, and split the bounty rewards
with him if Django stays and assists him in hunting down and killing other outlaws throughout the
winter. Django agrees upon the request and condition of finding and freeing his lost wife from her
horrible plantation owner in Mississippi. Once Django s wife is found,... Show more content on

Tarantino captures a great sense of the racial stereotyping in this time period. He has managed to
push across the majority of stereotypes that we had read about in the America on Film textbook and
also what we have heard in history lessons. Using Jamie Foxx as a Black Buck Tarantino shows
the audience about the trouble of racial slurs that get thrown at him by white people and giving
the position that he is in (as Django) he has to become the hyper masculine African American
and quickly builds up confidence to fight back. For example, when Django and Schultz ride into
a town on horseback the white people in the street begin to stare, some stop mid sentence is
shock and others speak their mind by saying that s a nigger on a horse . To get this point across
to the viewers the camera has a few seconds of each face of the white folk to emphasize the
shock. Tarantino uses other actors to dress and act how black people would of acted at that time
and how they obeyed the white race. About half way through the film we are introduced to another
couple African American characters, Stephen who is played by Samuel L. Jackson. Stephen plays
the part of an Uncle tom who the devoted servant to the charming but horrible owner of the Candy
land plantation and Cora who is

Tony Kaye s Use Of Some Important Film Techniques In A Film
Tony Kaye has used many film techniques to successfully express his purpose of each scene to
us the audience. Another important film technique that Tony Kaye utilizes is Mise en scene as
it is used to describe the design aspects of the film and allows us to analyze everything in one
scene. One scene that perfectly fits these details is the memorable police scene when Derek
surrenders to the police and gets taken into custody. We see Dereks tattoo and the signs at the
back clearly in this scene. What to take into account from the scene is when the Cop
coincidentally put his hand over Derek s Swastika tattoo on his right breast while he is being
arrested. A mid shot is used to show Derek s body waist upwards when he was surrendering from the

Home Loans And Bear Stearns ( Jpmorgan Chase Bank
I was unlucky enough to be front and center working for a homebuilder at the time of the real
estate crisis. The mindset of sellers, realtors and mortgage brokers before the bubble burst was
something that was very obvious to me as a lack of care for the long term homeowners and their
financial welfare. While the banks like Countrywide Home Loans and Bear Stearns (JPMorgan
Chase Bank) were making billions of dollars on mortgages, they were ridiculous in thinking that
this would not come back on them tenfold. How can you purchase a loan and approve it through
underwriting without first verifying the documents were accurate? How could I get a home
loan when I was 21 and had a credit score of 1? Well, this definitely happened. I had a cosigner, of
course, but still, the qualifying standards back in 2005 were relaxed to a fault. I liked to think that
I was responsible enough to have this investment in a property to call my own, but we bought at
the height of market in Orlando, and only gained in equity for about 6 months. In 2007, our house
was worth $40,000.00 less than what we purchased it for. My home in Orlando was a $1,300.00
monthly mortgagethat I thought I could afford with help from roommates, but quickly found this to
be too daunting. I ended up moving out, and thankfully rented until this year. We finally found a
buyer for the house this year, without having to bring any money to closing. This is ten years of
mortgage payments later. All thanks to the

Homeland Security And The Security
Differences The idea of securing the nation s borders and securing the safety of the citizens has
been a major topic since the beginning of the nation s existence. There have always been means
and procedures for it but it was never defined to the point it is today. The Homeland Security
Department is a fairly new program which is constantly improving and adjusting in accordance to
the threats that may arise. In the attempt to secure the United States, homeland securityhas become
paramount and a lot of emphasis is being provided so as to ensure the safety of the borders and the
citizens of the United States. So one must ponder what the difference between homeland security
and homeland defense are since they both tend to mean the same... Show more content on

Later, the federal, state, and local government responses to disasters such as Hurricane Katrina
expanded the concept of homeland security to include significant disasters, major public health
emergencies, and other events that threaten the United States, its economy, the rule of law, and
government operations (2). Homeland security is the combination of law enforcement,
immigration, disaster relief, and terrorist activities within the United States borders. This would be
based on the local agencies and civilian departments to safeguard the people from any threat
within while being assisted by the government. In some aspects of terror attacks, there will be a
combination of both homeland security and homeland defense. 9/11 is the perfect example as
homeland security was responding to the local disasters and threats while the homeland defense,
military, was deploying to get to the root of the threats. This is essential to the way homeland
security operates because this will stop the attack on the nation s soil before it reaches the borders
and local government agencies are required. The biggest issue with the homeland security aspect is
that the

Trickster God Mythology Examples
Iktomi, Wakjankaga, Coyote, and Rick Sanchez trickster gods created through generations of
rich Sioux, Winnebago, and Navajo tradition, as well as the weird and wonderful minds of Dan
Harmon and Justin Roiland. Specifically, I ll be focusing on the themes of community and
individual values told through trickster god narratives with a concentration on
environmentalism. Initially, it s important to establish the tropes and traits of trickster gods, so
I can establish a firm link between Rick Sanchez and trickster gods of old. This will give the
social commentary and myth of Adult Swims Rick and Morty a figurative leg to stand on.
Beginning, let s define common traits and relay them to specific examples in trickster myths.
Trickster God s are often wandering, bawdy, gluttonous, and obscene (Levine 100) selfish,
amoral, foolish, destructive, and as the name indicates, given to duping others in his own
interests (Levine 100). They are also culture heros (Levine 100) with god like power (Levine
100). A poignant example arises in the episode Rick Potion no. 9 where in Rick attempting to
secure his grandson Morty a date at a dance, makes him a love serum, which unintentionally infects
the whole world with a virus that turns everyone into a David Cronenberg esque monsters. He is
then forced to relocate himself and morty to another dimension of earth. This satisfies multiple of
the requirements wandering (Levine 100) and god like (Levine 100) with the ability to pick and

Reggio Emilia Approach Essay
Literature Review
Vygotsky believed that children are actively involved and curious in their own learning and learn
best through social interaction. (Schneider, P., Watkins, R. (1996). He said that play is the biggest
component to developing abilities such as self regulation and language. (Whitebread, 2011). These
two powerful components are predictors of emotional well being and academic achievement
(Whitebread, 2011). However, due, to the state standards children are required to have more
lessons taught during the day, making it less possible for children to talk and play. Teachers are
trying to get as much as possible done, which may leave children feeling overwhelmed. In the

Reggio Emilia is an approach to education that originated in Reggio Emilia, Italy. Children are the
emphasis of the program, it is child led and incorporates project based learning. Reggio Emilia is a
flexible approach to curriculum, in Italian it is called progettazione. (Cross, 2006). The teachers
generalize and wait to see what the children do with the topic and what type of prior knowledge
they will used in the project. (Cross, 2006). The teacher may predict that the children will learn
about a topic and based on the children s reaction and prior knowledge. They may learn
something else that was not expected by the teacher. Teachers take into consideration the interests
of the child, encouraging children and parents to participate to provide provocations. (Cross,
2006). Family is an important role of Reggio Emilia. Loris Malaguzzi who is the inspiration of
Reggio Emilia preschools and founded the first non Catholic preschool in Italy, strongly believe in
connection with parents and believes in parent partnership to help build the whole child.
(Vodopivec, 2012). The Reggio Emilia Approach was also known for incorporating many different
developmentally practices in that were inclusive of early childhood special education (Vakil, S,

Dennis Rader BTK Killer Essay
Dennis Rader, or the BTK Killer, was responsible for the murder of ten people between 1974 and
1991. He was known for writing letters to police after a murder that offered information that
nobody knew. Eventually the murders and letters stopped, then in 2004 Rader sent another letter to
police claiming responsibility for a murder that was not connected to him before. Thanks to
advancements in DNA technology police were able to collect evidence from underneath the victim
s fingernails. Rader soon then sent a computer disk to a TV station and police were able to analyze
the data from a document found on it and learned that the authors name was Dennis. There was also
a link to a Lutheran Church that Rader was a part of. After police did a search including Dennis and
Lutheran Church, they found that the church has a deacon named Dennis Rader. After police get a

Dennis Rader was known to write letters that were sent to police and news agencies about the
murders. These letters would include how the crime scene was set up, what the people were
tied up with, and how they were killed. Some of these letters and packages also had clues in
them in different forms. He did this because he was seeking the fame that other killers such as
Ted Bundy had received from the media. He sent one letter to a local news station that had
hidden words in it that spelled out D. Rader and 6220 , which was his street address. However,
the clues in his numerous letters would not give him away. Some of his clues were overlooked,
some could not be deciphered, and some did not make sense with the investigation. What did give
him away was a floppy disk that was sent to a local news agency. This document had data on it that
named the author and brought them to the Lutheran church that Rader was a part of. Computer
technology had advanced in the decade since his last murder that led them to this embedded

Myers Briggs Type Indicator Analysis
Myers Briggs Type Indicator The Myers Briggs personality test is based from the theorists, Carl
Jung and Isabel Briggs Myers. The eight letters E, I, S, N, T, F, J, P, are the personality traits
tested in this exam. Upon completion of the test, each person is given a four letter profile. These
profiles will consist of either an E or I, S or N, T or F, and J or P, depending on his or her
personality. E stands for extravert which means a person who is an extravert is usually more
outgoing and open than those who are not extraverts. The opposite of an extravert is an introvert,
represented with an I. Introverts tend to keep to themselves. They do not like to be the center of
attention. Sensing, S, focuses in on what is happening in that moment... Show more content on

The exact opposite of my profile would be ISFJ. I could see myself in I and F. Even though I
enjoy being around people, there are times that I like to spend time by myself. I believe this is
true for most people as well. It is hard to be around many people for long periods of time with
little time to yourself. There are many occasions I use feelings to make a decision. When something

  • 2. Julius Caesar Movie Vs Play Making a movie to be watch worthy for a good book is almost rare. Nevertheless, it is common to hear those who like reading to pries a movie, which made based on a book that they read. Yet, when it comes to William Shakespeare, it is different because the plies that he wrote are just a ready script for acting. Julius Caesar is one of Shakespeare s most famous plays because of many reasons and one of them is that the real story was a critical point in history. In fact, the play reflects an actual occasion of Shakespeare s time and that is one way this great writer express the concerns of the people about the succession, as Professor of English literature at University of St. Thomas, Ann Bradley says. This something is not mentioned in the play, but the director added it in order to make the scene more dramatic; and to give an impression to the audience that Brutus gets board of Cassius story. Another significant addition, the only appear in the movie is the body language of Marcus Antony which is not mentioned in the book but that is something the director has hand on. To conclude, I have to mention that I had watched another BBC movie as well but I choose to write about Alan Bridge s version and write comment based on it because I think it is better than (Julius Caesar 1979). Beside the points I bring up in this article like sticking to the original text, visual effects and adjustment of director in some scene, I have to admit that I am a visual person. Though, it does not mean I did not enjoy the reading as well as watching the movie, but I still think the movie have advantages over the book because of the three points that I mentioned in the ... • 3. Biblical Imagery Of The Bible Essay Vivid images, from visions, to detailed explanation and accounts of places and events, to symbolic imagery used to explain parables, or teach and encourage the first century churches are driving forces within the Biblical text. Metaphorical language, by virtue of the fact that it preserves the literal meaning of the symbol, while intending an analogical secondary meaning, is able to communicate profound truths about reality, mainly by creating an alternative, symbolic way of seeing and understanding the world. (Liubinskas, Susann. 404) Throughout the New Testament of the Bible the most commonly used images are the: body of Christ, and vine imagery. These images work together to create a powerful example of the necessity for unity among individual believers, and that unity tying them Christ. However before discussing how Biblical imagery explains unity with Christ, one first must understand what unity with Christ is. According to the Baker Theological Dictionary, unity with Christ is more than mimicking the life of Christ. Rather it is the present experience of the risen Christ indwelling the believer s heart by the Spirit. (Elwell, Walter A .789) Being In Christ can be interpreted as the intimate interconnectedness between Christ and believers. (Elwell, Walter A. 789) Biblical imagery is used through the entire text to allow clear understanding this calling and what it looks like in the life of believers. (This is a terrible sentence.) Furthermore, the assassins attempt to mislead the detectives when they purposely leave belongings of the murderer in Ratchett s room to make it seem as though they are trying to incriminate that person. Colonel Arbuthnot is the only person on the train who admits to smoking using a pipe, so the pipe cleaner found in Ratchett s room makes it seem as though someone is trying to frame him. This makes the detectives feel as though Colonel is innocent, which is another example of the processed thinking the murderers do. Finally, Ratchett is stabbed twelve time, which is both a metaphor, and part of the revenge. The group feels as though proper justice is not served in the Armstrong, so they stab Ratchett twelve time symbolizing twelve jury members, as well as a stab for each other as revenge. Poirot realizes the connection when he says, And then, Messieurs, I saw light. They were all in it. . . . A jury is composed of twelve people there were twelve passengers Ratchett was stabbed twelve times (306). ABSTRACT The aim of this project is to do simulation and hardware implementation of Impedance inverter and controlling speed of three phase induction motor. In Impedance inverter one control circuit which has elements like L C which is known as impedance network in which L is connected in series C is connected in parallel. By creating short through fault in this network, we can get voltage Buck or Boost. This is the main advantage of impedance inverter. This impedance inverter is applying to control speed of an induction motor. In CSI and VSI techniques which Produces undesirable harmonics. This harmonic results in reduction in efficiency of induction motor speed control. By using this inverter the harmonics are reduced which helps in giving better variable speed for speed control of induction motor. In this impedance inverter consists of two inductors and two capacitors which acts as filter that reduces harmonics And it can also be effectively reduce the voltage stress across the capacitors in the impedance network. What was one king s dream turned into his country s nightmare. While the Spanish had bad leaders, the English had good ones. The Spanish had bigger, but slower ships, while the English had smaller and faster ships. The English knew the weather conditions and how to prepare for them, while the Spanish thought it would not be a problem. The English entered the battle in a calm manner, while the Spanish were overconfident. All of these ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the beginning of her reign, she made the Church of England the official religion of England and she fashioned her court after that of her fathers. For a woman during that era, Elizabeth was a very daring and smart ruler. For example, she secretly encouraged sailors such as Francis Drake to make raids on Spanish shipping and challenge their naval superiority. When she was a little girl, she was well educated and was able to speak several languages, including French, Spanish, and Latin. In addition, throughout Elizabeth s reign, there was always the threat of hostilities in some form or another. Elizabeth kept the peace between rival leaders of different religions by dominating her court so she could keep the balance of power.2 She was smart enough to come up with a plan which kept the church at bay with their questions of marriage.3 She also calmed the Spanish and the French by entertaining suitors of each respective country; Philip II of Spain and Duke of Anjou of France, but she never married either of them and was therefore known as the Virgin queen .4 Elizabeth was a Protestant queen who was not always on good terms with most Catholic rulers of Europe. Because of that, there were several assassination plots against her so the Catholics could put Mary, Queen of Scots, in her place. During the 1580 s, Elizabeth began to bring her full weight onto the catholic rebels. Hundreds of Catholics died at the stake just as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 26. Symptoms And Symptoms Of Schizophrenia Essay Schizophrenia has been described as severe disturbances in thoughts that affect the loss of contact with reality (Ward, 2015). A key characteristic of this severe brain disorder includes hallucinations (illusionary perceptions that are not shared by others, i.e. sensory hallucinations, namely auditory) (Ward, 2015). In order to be diagnosed with schizophrenia, one must show instances of both positive and negative symptoms along with their impaired ability to live a normal functioning life (Ward, 2015). In fact, 60% 70% of schizophrenic patients meet the criteria for hallucinations (Jardri, Pouchet, Pins, Thomas, 2011). Even though hallucinations can include any of the five senses, Audio Verbal Hallucinations (AVH) is the most common (Jardri et al., 2011). It is widely known that at least in 25% of patients, who experience hallucinations are also resistant to medications resulting in the decrease of quality of life for such individuals (Jardri et al., 2011; Sommer et al., 2008). To add on, therapeutic treatments for despairing symptoms of schizophrenia are seldom. Previous studies have used functional imaging in order to assess neuropathological mechanisms of schizophrenia. In such studies, psychologists scan activation in the cerebral cortex during hallucinations however, sample sizes have been small (Sommer et al., 2008). Popular Sovereignty Debate In today s time, the concept of popular sovereignty is used for making decisions about topics such as abortion and marijuana; however, in 1858, popular sovereignty was about giving the right to citizens of a state or territory to decide for themselves whether slavery should be legal in that state or territory (Dudley 154). The topic of popular sovereignty was a pressing debate point between the two men running for a U.S. Senate seat in 1858 (Dudley 154). Stephen Douglas was the Illinois U.S. senator who played crucial roles in passing the Compromise of 1850 and the Kansas Nebraska Act of 1854 (Dudley 154). His opponent was Abraham Lincoln, a successful self taught lawyer turned congressman, who later went on to win the presidential race of 1860 (Dudley 156). Mr. Douglas believed that popular sovereignty should be the deciding factor on the question of slavery(Dudley 154); whereas, Abraham Lincoln felt that slavery was an issue too large to be decided upon by a vote of the people (Dudley 158). Acknowledging that the Union was built upon the belief in sovereignty of the states, and there was in fact no reference to negroes in the Declaration of Independence should compel one to agree with Mr. Douglas and see where Mr. Lincoln was wrong (Dudley 155). This would be based on the local agencies and civilian departments to safeguard the people from any threat within while being assisted by the government. • 46. Trickster God Mythology Examples Iktomi, Wakjankaga, Coyote, and Rick Sanchez trickster gods created through generations of rich Sioux, Winnebago, and Navajo tradition, as well as the weird and wonderful minds of Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland. Specifically, I ll be focusing on the themes of community and individual values told through trickster god narratives with a concentration on environmentalism. Initially, it s important to establish the tropes and traits of trickster gods, so I can establish a firm link between Rick Sanchez and trickster gods of old. This will give the social commentary and myth of Adult Swims Rick and Morty a figurative leg to stand on. Beginning, let s define common traits and relay them to specific examples in trickster myths. Trickster God s are often wandering, bawdy, gluttonous, and obscene (Levine 100) selfish, amoral, foolish, destructive, and as the name indicates, given to duping others in his own interests (Levine 100). They are also culture heros (Levine 100) with god like power (Levine 100). A poignant example arises in the episode Rick Potion no. 9 where in Rick attempting to secure his grandson Morty a date at a dance, makes him a love serum, which unintentionally infects the whole world with a virus that turns everyone into a David Cronenberg esque monsters.
