2. Apple Iphone Attack
Recently, the FBI has asked Apple to create a backdoor into IPhones, allowing the
government and anyone with access, to bypass security and access the data in an
IPhone. The main reason that this has become such a popular issue is because of the
aftermath of the San Bernardino attack. One of the attackers, Syed Farook, had an
IPhonethat is believed to have been used to communicate with other ISIS members.
The FBI has been unable to open the phone, and is now asking Apple for a
backdoor into the phone, which Apple promptly declined. If a backdoor is
generated for all IPhones, anyone with the key to unlock the backdoor will have
access to the entire world s supply of data on IPhones, ranging from a middle
schooler s IPhone to the CEO of a... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The future of personal security and encryption lies at stake in this fight, and both
sides are unwilling to back down. If Apple wins, then IPhones stay secure, but the
IPhones from many criminals will remain locked. If the government wins, they will
have access to all the IPhones in the country, but will also be able to use the backdoor
in criminal and counterterrorist cases. In this case, Apple winning has a better
outcome than the FBI winning, because Apple winning is a win for personal and
national
3. Sequence Analysis Sunset Blvd. Essay
In Alfred Hitchcock s Rear Window the sequence being analyzed begins at 100:31
and it ends at 102:13, putting in consideration the mise en scene, cinematography,
editing, and sound. A quick overview of the sequence: L.B Jefferies is confined to
a wheelchair due to an accident, is looking out the window to his neighbor s
apartment across the courtyard. He suspects that the neighbor has committed
murder. Jefferies s girlfriend Lisa Fremont manages to get in the accused apartment
in search of the wife s wedding ring, to prove that Lars Thorwald indeed murdered
his wife. Lisa is cornered in the apartment by Thorwald and tries to persuade him so
that she can go on her merry way. Thorwald begins to manhandle her and she screams
out for Jeff.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the sequence begins to escalate, shifting from Jeff s dimly lit apartment to
Thorwald s brightly lit and later pitch dark apartment, it as if each shot after shot,
films the audience s reaction to what is going on in the scene. Jeff being the audience
his emotions are then felt by the true audience who would feel anxious as well.
The sequence shows a mixture of close up shots, long shots and angled shots. It
begins with a close up of Jeff showing his reaction. It cuts to a long shot of Thorwald
s apartment. The camera is at a level and height as if looking out from Jeff s
apartment. The camera has little movement at the beginning of the scene.
In the, Extreme long shots it is unrestricted to Thorwald since he does not know
who is ever at the door. When the police arrives and rings the doorbell, only Jeff
and Stella knows that they are there. When it becomes known to Thorwald after
opening the door, his face is filled with guilt as Jeff looks at him with his telephoto
lens. Thorwald is nervous and looks back at Lisa, who manages to compose herself.
However, the audience only sees what Jeff sees.
The last shot in the sequence at the point 102:02(shot 24), Joe is looking through the
telephoto lens while Stella looks through a pair of binoculars. An iris forms again
showing Joe s subjective view. Lisa and Thorwald are talking to the police officers.
4. Reflection on My Nursing Decision
Pearson (2013) clarifies clinical decision making is essential to every aspect of
care delivered to a patient (p. 214). It is the ability to blend information and make
decisions that will later be implemented in the situation. Evidence based decision
making involves choosing from a variety of possibilities and combining the
knowledge through research and the scientific evaluation of one s practice. The
purpose of this paper is to analyze my decision of administering ativan by advocating
for the patient and anticipating her change prior to confirming signs; which provided
a therapeutic response. Clinical Decision During my community placement of the
cataract clinic at St. Joseph s Hospital, one patient I observed looked extremely

Rationale for Framework The CAEN Decision Making Model for Nursing Practice
Framework was chosen for this analysis due to its incorporation of foundational
knowledge, thinking processes, context and decision making processes. The model
places major emphasis on the quality of relationships, salience and pattern
recognition, healing initiatives, critical reflection to analyze a situation pre and
post and to value different ways of knowing. The client along with the nurse is
intertwined in the center of the framework highlighting the importance of their
relationship. All critical decision making for nursing practice is the client s lived
experience of health and healing; which is essential to the inquiry process where a
nurse will enter into and become engaged in the new relationship. In this situation,
being directly involved with the patient provided an opportunity to create a
relationship on the basis of providing health and healing measures (CAEN, 2008).
Coming to Know the Client The first stage of this framework is coming to know
the client, which requires the nurse to understand that the personal meaning of
health and healing is individualized and the context of this area is highly subjective.
Gillespie and Paterson (2009) state that clinical decision making processes are
triggered by recognition of a cue from a patient (p. 167). In the case of this patient,
the decision was based off a cue; a change
5. A Wondering Ideal in Walden Essay
Henry David Thoreau writes of his experiences in his two year experiment of self
reliance on Walden Pond near Concord, Massachusetts. It is my opinion that Thoreau
thought of himself as better than the average person and to an extent better than the
person reading his very work. The allusions and ideals expressed in this work wreak
of a smug and better than though context. The purpose of this experiment was to
enact the philosophies and ideals of self reliance and simplicity. His ideaof simplicity
is strewn throughout this work, ranting through a seemingly indecipherable mixture
of allusions, metaphors, and actual ideas. One that I think is really very important is
the concept of modern improvements (Thoreau 95). During a... Show more content on

Although I do not agree, his reasoning behind it is quite simple. The distance that a
train travels is thirty miles and its fare for this distance is ninety cents, almost a
days wage (96). He says that he can ultimately arrive quicker on foot, than a person
riding this train. He can walk this distance with no cost or debts involved but to ride
this train a person must first work to earn this ninety cents and then take the train,
which then in turn, will sum to be more time consuming than simply walking this
distance. This example is one of many that further reinforce this idea of self reliance
and simplicity.
The chapter titled Where I lived, and What I lived for talks about his search for a
plot of land suitable for his intended purpose, among other things. In my opinion,
his ideas wander through metaphors and references that may have been suited for
different readers with a different knowledge base. In the second page of this
chapter, his whole idea of simplicity is brought up again. He says that, a man is rich
in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone (126). In my
estimation, he simply means that a man is rich, not in terms of tangible wealth, but
in knowledge and self control by what he stand to live without. Thoreau tells us that
his home was located by the shore of a small pond, about a mile and a half south of
the village of Concord

Flowers for Algernon is a science fiction short story and subsequent novel written by
Daniel Keyes. The short story, written in 1958 and first published in the April 1959
issue of The Magazine of Fantasy Science Fiction, won the Hugo Award for Best
Short Story in 1960.
Although the book has often been challenged for removal from libraries in the US
and Canada, sometimes successfully, Keyes refused to make the change and sold the
story to The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction instead. and first tried to sell it
to Doubleday, but they also wanted to change the ending. Again, Keyes refused and
gave Doubleday back their advance. the Fifth Annual of the Year s Best Science

7. Arguments In 12 Angry Men
The Arguments of 12 Angry Men In the film 12 Angry Men (1957), directed by
Sidney Lumet, is a film about a group of 12 jurors on a murder case. As the
beginning of the film begins, the men are seen entering the deliberation room to
come to a consensus on the case that was assigned. In the case, a young juvenile is
being tried for the murder of his own father. If he is found guilty, the boy will be
sent to the chair and will die by execution. If he is found not guilty then he will live.
As the 12 jurors all sit down to make a beginning vote (aiming to create a unanimous
consensus), only one of the men votes that the defendant is not guilty of the
presented charges. Juror #8, the opposition to everyone, believes that there is
reasonable doubt... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The argument started out with juror #8 stating that he didn t know if the kid was
guilty or not, he just believed that there were a lot of holes in the case that would
lead him to believe there is reasonable doubt in the conviction. Though this seemed
like a weak argument, there were many different key points that were made to
undermine the original argument. Jumping from one fact to the next, juror #8
eventually persuaded the entire group to change their vote to not guilty. Juror #8,
when presenting the various portions of his argument, always remains calm, as well
as the other men who eventually join his side. Juror #4, though on the original
position, actually provides a lot of this logical approach. He admits that the
opposition makes sense and when the argument overrides his, he admits he is wrong
and changes his vote. This type of argument, when proven with ethos and pathos, is
successful and will gain logical support to win the overall

today one has to be flexible for an ultimate success in any filed of his life.

building block of any entrepreneur but the recent studies have shown that its not the
sole criterion anymore. Planning: Planning is important to beat the deadlines and to
prevent the wastage of recourses involved in any kind of venture. a venture can
sustain without planning as well but planning can make any venture much more
effective and efficient. Initiative: Extroversion and being initiative goes side by side
the importance of this parameter is captured beautifully in a single line in this test
Many individuals who intend to become self employed simply never end up in
business just because they couldn t take the initiative. Independence: sense of
independence can be one of the driving forces that lead to entrepreneurship. Various
studies show that a strong need of financial independence is one of the most common
characteristic of entrepreneurs worldwide. Purpose: The purpose here reflects the
outlook of the applicant towards owning a business; whether he/she is looking for

9. Summary Of Parasite Rex Inside The Bizarre World Of The
World
Zimmer emphasizes his prologue in two different stories. The first story is about a
twelve year old boy named Justin who lives in Tambura Sudan infected with a single
cell parasite called a trypanosome also known as the sleeping disease. Zimmer
explains that the parasite is transmitted by two different hosts the tsetse fly and
humans. The infection cycle starts with the tsetse fly drinking human s blood
pouring in Trypanosomes. The trypanosomes then steal oxygen and glucose invading
all the organs including the brain. Sleeping sickness gets its named from the way
trypanosomes disorder people brains by damaging the biological clock and turning
day to night. Justin had to take some injections of melarsoprol which contains twenty
percent of arsenic and steroids for swelling. This brutal procedure was followed
because Justin had parasitesin his brain.
The second story took place a few months after his trip to Sudan. Biologist Daniel
Brooks guided Zimmer and seven other biologists through a jungle in Costa Rica.
Brooks caught several different types of frogs to look under a microscope, most of
the parasites were new to science. Zimmer then goes into detail of how the book
Parasite Rex Inside the Bizarre World of Nature s Most Dangerous Creatures is
about a new study of life and that it has taken a long time for scientist to appreciate
the sophisticated adaptation parasites have made to the inner world.

The After life of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Daoism
Hinduism, Buddhism, and Daoism are all religions that connect in more than one
way. One major way that these religions connect is through the afterlife, otherwise
known as the unconditioned reality. Hinduism and Buddhism have very similar
views on the afterlife while Daoism has a slightly different view. In the end, they all
have the same goal which is to achieve the final state that lasts forever. Even though
this is true, that does not mean they do not differ in more than one way. Hinduism,
Buddhism, and Daoism rely strongly on theoretical, practical, and sociological
standpoints. A large part of the theoretical standpoints, are myths about the gods and
how things are. A large part of sociological standpoints are festivals, and temples.
Lastly, practical is practiced through mediation, yoga, and payers. In Hinduism, there
are various sects that worship a total of roughly 360,000,000 different gods. As you
could imagine, this would be difficult to generalize in just one essay, so the branch of
Hinduism I will go over just includes the basic trinity and Vedic gods. Along with
this, this essay will include information on the two major types of Buddhism and how
one attains enlightenment. Finally, we will go over how one is to attain immortality
through Daoism, along with the beliefs of the traditional Chinese Folk religions.
Hinduism is the first of the three religions that were taught and has the most influence
on the other

Internal system unit components:
Processors
Starting from the basics the CPU (central processing unit) also known as a
processor is a microprocessor contains multiple cores that process itself. In a
system you would find many CPU s and if you open the CPU case up then you will
find that the socket(processor) is inside and if you zoom in again you will also
find that a processor is made up of core s. There are two types of processors a
single core processor and a multiple processor the difference between them is that
the single core processor can complete one task at a time while a multiple core
processor can run two programs. A popular and successful solution of multi core from
Intel meant that you could perform 2 tasks at the same time ... Show more content on

13. Conflict Between Believer And The Unbeliever
Among many scholars, there is a general agreement concerning every scientific
investigation, which should proceed in full consciousness from a specific starting
point that in theology is the ontological Trinity. Kuyper acknowledges that around the
epistemological investigation of the phenomena, there is a particular area of common
territory without methodological dispute between the believer and the unbeliever.
Thus, according to Kuyper s view, there are three territories in which both the
believers and unbelievers interpretation of fact can interact: all natural (lower)
sciences, the lower spiritual sciences and logic. For these areas, says Kuyper, As a
result all scientific research that deals with the бЅЃПЃО±П„О¬ only, or is carried on
only by those subjective elements, which did not undergo a change, remains common
to both. At the beginning of the road the tree of scienceis common to all.
However, while Van Til agrees with the validity of this distinction, he also argues that
this compromises the starting point of the ontological Trinity and leads Kuyper s
interpretation into the Scholastic and Kantian s direction, because within the
distinction of these respective territories, he allows a common area of investigation of
the various phenomena.
On the one hand, Kuyper represents the lower territories of epistemological
investigation such as the physical sciences, namely the lower spiritual sciences and
logic. The two different groups of inquirers can cooperate in these
14. Investigating The Changing Patterns Of Political And...
Introduction The Ezra Siyadhuba Archaeological Research Project proposes to
investigate the changing patterns of political and social organization in Southern
Africa during the 19th century. The project focuses on how social and economic
practices were transformed by the way the political system of the state worked on
the people. The study will answer the questions asked about whether the Ndebele
people who migrated continued with their political and social status that they had
before in Kwazulu Natal. Data will be collected by archaeological survey and test
excavations over a series of three field seasons between July 2015 and September
2015.The data collected and survey conducted will be used to test the social and
economic changes from these two sites and compare whether they are parallel. The
artifacts collected will be put in the museum so that people who wants to learn about
these changes will have access to the artifacts. This project will answer all the
questions posed by the archeologists and will also help in teaching students interested
in African cultures. Project Description. This research tend to investigate, apply and
evaluate how social and economic systems were enforced amongst the Ndebele
States. Currently there are a lot of arguments amongst the Archaeologists about the
economic and social system held in the Ndebele state. This research
15. Changes to Knighthood throughout the Years
Throughout the years knighthood has changed depending on what the people need
and expect during that time period. They also vary on their manners, duties, ages,
and skills. Kids start training since the age of seven, especially if they want to be in
the arms profession. Start out by serving their fathers, around the age of 12, they
then move onto serving the house receiving more advanced instructions in military
subjects and morals. The original medieval nights were originally servants who kept
their lords lands after they served in their lords armies. With time christian values
were added to knighthood involving respect for the church, protection of the poor
and the weak, loyalty to one s feudal or military superiors, and preservation of
personal honour (Knight3). These became known as the knights orders they followed
to achieve greatness.
The first recognized group of knights evolved during the Crusades. There was
several different groups of them including the Hospitallers of St John of
Jerusalem, the Order of the Temple of Solomon, and the Order of St. Lazarus.
While they were all considered knights each group had a different task and set of
goals to accomplish. Not all of them fought in battles and saved princesses and
kingdoms. For example, the Order of St. Lazarus had the unique duty of protecting
the leper hospitals. Knights served more like the police officers and army of today
combined under one category. The closest they became to the ideal

Hi, there first name is Christina, last name is Cepeda. It s a pleasure to finally
meet you! You should know that the only reason you were able to recognize me is
because I am 5 feet, 7 inches tall, not skinny, more on the average side (I d like to
think). I have long naturally curly hair, somedays it s flat ironed straight or up in a
bun but on this particular day, the hair will definitely be straight, face full of make
up, and I will be wearing glasses because I have to look my best and nicely dressed,
when I first meet you! Family size is five with three girls, two boys. Ages starting
at forty six being the oldest and thirty one being the youngest. Out of the five of us
their is one set of fraternal twins. My twin brother s name is Christopher, he beat
me at being born first and older than me by three minutes. We are the youngest out

17. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum Essay
In 1939, Victor Fleming made a film version of L. Frank Baum s novel The
Wonderful Wizard of Oz. However, both the novel and the film focuses or touches
on the same moral, it features the protagonist Dorothy who resides in Kansas the
farm, along with her aunt Em and uncle Henry as well as her dog Toto. Both Baum
s novel and Fleming s 1939 film adaptation the setting is in Kansas which is
described as a small farm which Dorothy lives in which in Baum s novel is
picturized as gloomy, grey and dull. Throughout Fleming s adaptation of Baum s The
Wonderful Wizard of Oz, there are a number of differences which presents itself in a
direct manner on screen as well as similarities. The variety of changes in the film s

It is brightly colored and feels almost alive, the design of it by Fleming was very
talented and similar as it looks closely as how it was depicted in the novel. In other
words, it looks and fits the description perfectly.
According to Russell E, the major differences between Frank Baum s novel and
Victor Fleming s film adaptation are as follows: in the original novel the Land of Oz
is described as being a real place but in the film, the Colorful Land of Oz comes
into existence only when the protagonist Dorothy dreams of it. Another major shift
and change was that in the novel, Dorothy seems or is described as being around
eight to ten years but she appears much older in the film adaptation, although, she
acts a bit childish and manipulative. Dorothy as seen in the novel comes about three
women who are magical and helps her along the course of her journey. They are
known as Glinda , she is the Good Witch of the South, the Good Witch of the North
and the Queen of the field Mice, whereas, in Fleming s film the only help in which
Dorothy receives are from the Good Witch of the North known as Glinda. There are
also other shifts, alterations or changes between the novel and the adaptation as seen
in Baum s novel, the minor character that appears at the end of the story who is the
Wicked Witch of the West, in the film she is the main witch who is chasing Dorothy
and her dog Toto in the wonderful and Colorful Land of Oz. Another difference was
in the novel
18. Cargo Transport Evolved From When The Cargo Industry
Background
Shipping a package/parcel to anybody around the world today seems easy and
convenient; the thought of what the carrier goes through does not cross anybody s
mind. The airline industry in cargo transport evolved from when the cargo industry
began. When comparing all airliners in cargo transport, all the basics for carrying
cargo seems to be the same. First aircraft and crew safety must be adhered to and
proper weigh and balance must be accomplished. Inspection of the cargo is
critical! Proper weight, hazardous material, and dimensions must be physically
checked. Finally, all paperwork must be compiled...but, how did all this came to
be? When all this started back in 1918 and Air Mail service begun, I bet nobody
checked all these precautions we do today. Possibly loaded the aircraft with as
much bags of mail in the cargo hold as the aircraft could hold and attempt a takeoff.
After having much success the U.S. post office took over all responsibilities for the
War Department, and so we begin. (Vassilopanagos, A. 2015)
History of FedEx
After the end of the war in 1944 there was an abundant supply of military pilots, ten
of which came from the 1st American Volunteer Group (AVG). They were
experienced in hauling freight and started their own company calling it National
Skyway Freight, which later became known as the Flying Tiger Line. The company
utilized surplus aircraft purchased from the Navy and created a transcontinental route
across the United States.
19. For-Profit Universities As A Social Problems
For profit universities are recently being recognized as a social problem. A for
profit university is defined as a school that is owned and operated by private
corporations, whose top priority is to make money (IPFW). These schools often only
offer two year associate degrees and certificate programs, but they rarely offer general
education and liberal arts programs. This means the students cannot advance to a
higher degree.
Also, for profit lack accreditation, so most credits from an accredited college will not
transfer, limiting the ability to advance in school. These for profit universities have
exorbitant tuition costs. Average tuition after grants at a for profit schoolis about
$31,000, compared to non profit tuition of $26,000. Another issue is that many for
profit schools have a low graduation rate. For example, University of Phoenix had a
17.5 percent graduation rate in 2014, whereas Keiser University, a non profit
school, had a 56 percent graduation rate in 2014 (College Scorecard). Therefore,
proving that for profit universities fit the definition of a social problem, which is a
social condition that has negative consequences for individuals, our social world or
the physical world.
Even if they do earn a degree, most do not find employment. A study from the
National Bureau of Economic Research shows applicants who had earned a bachelor
s degree in business from a large online for profit university are about 22 percent less
likely to get a call back from employers

allowed under the supervision and consent of Daniel not the consent of Wes. So he
did not breach the duty of supervision when he transferred the supervision

21. Threat Assessment of Ping Sweeps and Port Scans Essay
Threat Assessment of Ping Sweeps and Port Scans Ping sweeps and port scans are
two techniques that a malicious computer user such as a hacker can utilize to
compromise an Enterprise networks security and gain access to their proprietary
data. For example, private email messages can be forwarded to a rogue destination
email address: Done by installing a virus program into a user s email client through a
discovered active computers open TCP/IP IMAP port (port number 143) that is not
being currently used by that user (Clarke, 2008). The virus then could take advantage
of security vulnerabilities in that users email client program and forward emails from

Port Scanning Port scanning is technique used to identify any open or closed
Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) or User Datagram Protocol (UDP) network
communication ports or services on a network host device. For example, port
number 110 is assigned to Post Office Protocol three (POP3) for email client
application communications on a network. There can be up to 65,000 ports any
one computer or host device and any unused open ports as determined by a port
scan may allow a malicious user unauthorized access to it. This is akin to an open
window in a house whereas a burglar can gain access to it ( Facts about port, ).
Also, accessive port scanning can lead to a denial of service (DoS) attack and not
allow authorized users to access their data. Finally, there are again several utility
tools available to perform port scanning such as Nmap as mentioned previously or
SolarWinds Port scanner.
Firewall
To mitigate the security threat posed by ping sweeps and port scans it is highly
recommended that firewall protection on all network hosts devices should be enabled
to close any unused ports to protect them from unauthorized access. Also, is
recommended that the use of a firewall server to protect the network from any
outside intruders be used as well. In conclusion, ping sweeping and port scanning can
threaten the security of a Business Enterprises network and steps
22. The Testing Of Salivary Biomarkers
Introduction: Although the testing of salivary biomarkers has yet to take hold in
clinical settings, the research surrounding this science is promising. Ideally, in the
future, patients will be able to submit saliva samples to their doctor or dentist to be
tested for a variety of conditions which can be detected based on particular proteins
or enzymes, et cetera. The hope is that these tests could lead to early disease
detection and treatment. In this report, you will find the ways in which saliva can
be gathered, as well as the known biomarkers for specific diseases, and the
shortcomings and hopes for research in this field.
Saliva Composition and Function: In this article, author Karthikeyan Murthykumar
discusses the composition of saliva, as well as its ability to protect the mouth, and aid
in digestion. The study performed identified the following details regarding saliva
composition and function: Saliva is excreted through three different glands: parotid,
submandibular, and sublingual. It is comprised of about 99% water, but contains a
mixture of ions and proteins, such as sodium, potassium, calcium, chloride,
magnesium, bicarbonate, phosphate, albumin, and some polypeptides. Before saliva
is excreted through the glands, it is isotonic to blood plasma. However, once it exits
the ducts of the glands, it is hypotonic. It is this hypotonicity that allows us to
perceive flavor, by then mixing with ions and dissolving gustin. Gustin is a salivary
protein which
23. The Teleological Argument For The Existence Of
Intelligent...
The teleological argument successfully provides proof for the existence of
intelligent design by utilizing intricate scientific data in order to demonstrate intent
and purpose in the creation of the universe, as opposed to random and highly
improbable occurrences. The purpose of the teleological argument is to present
complex details of the universe as evidence that it was designed by an intelligent
mind. It suggests that since the universe is so compound and full of fine tuned
intricacies, there must have been a designer who implemented these specific details
in order to create a fully functioning and sustainable universe. These details have
been found from a biological perspective, as well as from a cosmological scale. The
teleological argumentis commonly used to provide evidence for the existence of the
theistic God, or at least an intelligent designer. In contrast, those who are against the
teleological argument generally believe that the universe is a result of an accidental
explosion. Although there are many theories that use the teleological argument to
provide strong support for intelligent design, there are also well developed theories
that oppose the teleological argument. A philosopher who presents several
contradicting arguments to the teleological argument is David Hume. In his writing,
The Dialogue Concerning Natural Religion, he presents his critique of the
teleological argument and expresses his opposition through the fictional character
Philo. In one of
24. The Portrait Of Madame De Pompadour
I remember the precise moment when I first laid eyes on the Portrait of Madame
de Pompadour. At about ten years of age, my parents bought a book titled: Women
who read are dangerous. This book depicted several paintings, sculptures and
photographs of women reading; among which was the Portrait of Madame de
Pompadour. The second I witnessed the detail and extravagance of the painting, I
fell in love with it. Luckily at the time I was living in Bavaria, coincidentally also
the current home of said painting. When I went to see it, it was much larger in
person than I could have ever envisioned and much more vibrant in color and detail
than I could have ever imagined. Over the years I have seen many more paintings, I
have to yet be overwhelmed the way I was when I first saw the Portrait of Madame
de Pompadour. French artist François Boucher painted the legendary Portrait of
Madame de Pompadour in 1756. He utilized oil on canvas to paint the 201 Г— 157
cm (79.1 Г— 61.8 in) portrait of the chief mistress to Louis XV, Jeanne Antoinette
Poisson aka. The Marquise de Pompadour (also referred to as Madame de
Pompadour). Boucher, who lived from 1703 70, was the archetypal painter of the
French rococo, a style that subordinated subject matter to a lacy, frothy sensuality in
which bodies, clothes, clouds, waves and forests become not themselves but images
of desire, metaphors for titillation. Among the most prolific of his generation, he
worked in virtually every medium and every

(Villalba). While some religions honor Halloween, others honor Easter. Easter is a
holiday celebrated by Christian faith. Easter day represents the death of Jesus Christ
and his resurrection. For Christians, Easter marks the end of Lenten fasts, which is
why Easter is usually celebrated with a feast. Some Christians believe that by
following the process of fasting, baptisms, and sacraments, is their way to get into
heaven.
Halloween and Easter also differ in terms of children festivities. Halloween offers
many fun and exciting activities for children. Every year children around the world
love to go to the grocery store, or local farm and pick out their favorite pumpkin.
Children then go home and get to decorate or carve their pumpkin however they like.
They can create jack o lanterns or even funny faces out of their pumpkins. Other than
the usual trick or treating, many community buildings and schools create Halloween
fairs and events for children of all age groups. This includes hayrides, face painting,
and some spooky attractions. Some events even offer the opportunity for kids to
create their own costumes; which gives children an opportunity to express
themselves. On the other hand, Easter s activities are much different compared to
Halloween. During Easter, children get the opportunity to go on an Easter egg hunt.
Easter egg hunts involve children scrambling around on a scavenger hunt trying to
find the hidden Easter

27. Code Of Hammurabi Dbq
INTRO About 40 centuries ago a man named Hammurabi ruled a small city state,
Babylonia for forty two years! Babylonia had an estimated population of 1,000,000
people. Now a days Babylonia only exists as a archaeological site. In that period of
time Hammurabi established a 282 law code on a stele. No one knows how many
kids Hammurabi had or when he was born. We don t even know how he looked

property law, and personal injury law which were just in my opinion.

Law 48 states, If a man has borrowed money to plant his fields and a storm has
flooded his field or carried away the crop,... in that year he does not have to pay his
creditor. This law is very fair because the man that has borrowed money has lost his
field and his crops which the farmer makes his money out of, so in this case he
would go broke. Another law that is fair in my opinion is Law 21, Document D.
Law 21 states, If a man has broken through the wall to rob a house, they shall put
him to death and pierce him, or hang him in the hole in the wall which he has
made. I think this law is fair because back then people would work their butts off for
their possessions. If I lived in Hammurabi s era in Babylon and someone broke a hole
in my wall to break into my house and hijack me I forsure would be ticked off. And
finally my third law that supports my opinion for these laws being just can be

who has been robbed shall formally declare whatever he has lost before a god, and
the city and the mayor in whose territory or district the robbery has been committed
shall replace for him whatever he has lost. I think this law is fair because if
someone got robbed back then in Babylon that would be something very bad for the
city and obviously for the person who got robbed. The other reason

Re:Kodak s Strategic and Industry Analysis
Executive Summary:
After taking a close look at the photography industry, it is evident that there has been
a significant shift from the use of traditional film cameras to a market fully fledged
and saturated with modern and updated digital cameras and digital photographic
tools. As more consumers adapt to this technological change, the demand for digital
cameras in the market grows substantially, which leads to greater competition
between suppliers in the growth stage (being that this is still new technology).

Intense competition in the digital photography industry Sony, HP, and Fuji
Approval of new strategy from shareholders was still inadequate.
Strategic position After conducting a thorough analysis of Kodak s financial
statement, it is evident that the assets owned by Kodak are not being used in an
effective nor efficient manner (Refer to Appendix A). This is evident after taking a
close look at the company s returns on investment which were recorded between
1998 through 2000. This was recorded at just fewer than 10 percent. Another
significant aspect that can be pointed out is reflected in 2003 with about 2 percent.
This is indeed a rapid decrease which can be due in part to the technological changes
and Kodak s slow implementation of strategies. The company s constant declining
profit margins hint that there needs to be a drastic and effective improvement on
29. The Negatives Of Using Newspapers For Advertising
Newspapers:
The positives of using newspapers for advertising for Cherry Hill Animal Clinic are
that you can use a local newspaper for an affordable price and the clinic would
benefit since they could target their audience from their local area.
The negatives are that newspapers have a short shelf life and there could be many
other ads that distract the reader from your ad.
Magazines:
The positives for using magazine advertising are that you could focus on local
magazines about pets since that would likely be your reader. Also, magazines are
commonly passed around among pet owners and the clinic could get more visibility.
The negatives are that you would have to limit this to local magazines since you
have a limited area with which you customers would come from. Furthermore, you
would need to pay more to get a good spot in the magazine for your ad.
Directories:
The positives for using directories are that people will specifically go there to find a
clinic, so a well placed ad should stand out and increase your business. Also, these
are available 24 hours and won t become outdated like a newspaper or magazine
would.
The negatives are that advertising is costly and you would need to have a good
placement for your ad because the directories are normally published once a year.
Radio:
The positives of using radio are that the cost is less than using other medium and you
can use local radio which will reach your target audience
The negatives of using radio are

However, chronic sinusitis that has turned bacterial can be treated and the normal
course of action is to prescribe antibiotics. Antibiotics are effective in treating
Sinusitis and according to Richard Rosenfeld, M.D., (2016) in his paper titled
Acute Sinusitis in Adults, it is stated that, antibiotics are prescribed for 84 to 91%
of patients with acute sinusitis that is diagnosed in emergency departments and
outpatient settings (p. 962). Although antibiotics are the go to cure for Sinusitis,
making the duration shorter, it has been shown that most cases clear up on their
own with no need for medications at all. In his paper, Doctor Rosenfeld (2016)

31. Mount Olympus Research Papers
One thing was clear after looking up past expeditions of Mount Olympus, and that
was that it is a great Mountain to climb. One climber even called Mount Olympus
the Mountain of the God s indeed (Grotter, 2015 ). Although he didn t write very
much about the hike, he took many pictures along the way to tell his story. It looks
as though Mount Olympus is a truly mesmerizing climb, no matter who you ask. It
appears to be a very highly regarded mountain and seems to have sights that could
interest and be new to any climber, old or young. It also looks as though the sights
never stop getting better, and grow in beauty no matter how many pictures the blog
or website has to offer and the person who posted the pictures has nothing but good
things to say. Another climber stated that they came to Mount Olympus after reading
a book called The Magus. The climber then went on to say that in the book the two
main characters who came to the mountain to see the terrain and appreciate the
history. He decided to visit the mountain as well, but climbed it, rather than staying at

would easily cost between $2,500 and
32. The Use Of Oracle Boness In The Neolithic Age
Background
The use of Oracle bones can be tracked back to the Neolithic Era (Chou 135). The
Neolithic age was quite significant and played and immense role in contributing
towards the evolution of man. The Neolithic Era lasted for roughly 12,000 years, and
mainly stayed in what today is Northwestern Europe. People closely relate the
Neolithic times to the start of man. The people of the Neolithic era used the oracle
bones themselves; physically, as tools. The ox shoulder blades were used as
weapons, tools, and other farming equipment. (Chou 135). However, most common
tool that was used by the Neolithic people, during these times, was, The Neolithic
Spade. Furthermore, the Spade was a shovel/weapon and was made by using the ox
shoulder blade; moreover, the same bones used for divination. (Chou 135). The bones
were greatly and often utilized during the Neolithic Era; however, the Shang Dynasty
had some important uses for the bones as well.
The Oracle bones were heavily popularized in the late Shang Dynasty. The Shang
Dynasty ruled from 1600 BCE 1046 BCE. These times were otherwise known as
the The Bronze Age . The Bronze age lasted from the 16th to 11th Century BC.
(Chou 135). The Shang dynasty, as many dynasties did, consisted of a strong
government as well as a King to rule them. A good example of a king would be Zu
Ding of Shang. The kings played important roles in the divination process as they had
much control over the inquiries and sometimes the outcomes. (Aylmer)
33. Comparing Synoptic Gospels And The Gospel Of John
Based on the vast difference between the Synoptic Gospels and the Gospel of John,
most scholars believe that John s vision of Jesus does not come from the accepted
Gospels, as John rarely even alludes to those writings. Geographically speaking, the
Gospel of John highlighted Jesus time in Jerusalem, while the Synoptic Gospels were
more focused on his time in Galilee. The Synoptic Gospels also indicate that Jesus
had a one year ministry with one visit to Jerusalem. John, however, suggests that it
was a three year ministry and Jesus visited Jerusalem three times during the season
of Passover. Other differences are that John excludes large amounts of material that
are found in the Synoptic Gospels, but also includes material not found in the
Synoptic Gospels (Harris, 2004). While Matthew and Mark disclose that Jesus never
taught without the use of parables, John does not share any parables or aphorisms in
his text. But, instead discloses long dialogues and philosophical speeches which
Jesus own character was the topic of discussion. John only records one new
commandment from Jesus, which is to love one another, while the Synoptic Gospels
speak of many ethical directives.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rather than focusing on the biological birth, the Gospel of John encourages readers to
seek a second birth from above and allow Jesus to live in them and them in him,
just as he is in the Father (Myers, 2014). John was able to see Jesus as the eternal
Word, who became human and made his home among us (Publishers, 2011). His
purpose was to focus on Jesus being the Son of God, and not so much the son of
Mary. Perhaps it was for this reason that John did not find the birth of Jesus relevant
to the true purpose of
34. Similarities Between The Great Gatsby And Tom Buchanan
Nick Carraway and Tom Buchanan had some similarities and differences . They
are both liars, they lie about many things. Gatsby lied about who he really is and
Tom lies to get out of things. They both are living a fake life, a double life. Gatsby
was pretending he came from a wealthy family when in reality his family is dirt
poor. Tom was having an affairwith another woman who does not come from the
same social class as him and had an apartment with her in New York. The
apartment was a place where they both can get away from their other life.

different social class. Tom was born rich so he did not work for his money and

Gatsby met Daisy before she even knew Tom, but because he was poor he could not
have her. He was gone for five years yet he still loved her and was still loyal to her.
He bought a house right across the bay from Daisy s house and threw so many big
parties because he was hoping it would catch her attention. Once in awhile I go off
on a spree and make a fool of myself, but I always come back, and in my heart I love
her all the time. (Fitzgerald 131) Tom admitted that he toys with a lot of women, but
at the end of the day he always comes back to Daisy. I think the reason why Tom
cheated on Daisy because he wanted to to feel needed. Daisy never really wanted to
marry Tom and was not interested in him. She did marry him because he had
money, but Daisy was also very wealthy, so she did not need him or his money to
make her happy. She will do just fine on her own if she left him. Maybe he just
wanted someone to need him and make him feel wanted so that is why he cheated
on her. Myrtle was poor trying to be in the wealthy class and being with Tom lets
her feel like she is apart of the wealthy class because whatever she wants, Tom gets
it for her. One example, is the dog. I want to get one of those dogs, she said
earnestly. I want to get one for the apartment. They are nice to have a dog. (
Fitzgerald 27 ) Myrtle wanted a dog for the apartment and Tom bought it for her
without even questioning it. She did not even know how to properly take care of
it. She just wanted the dog just so she can spend Tom s money. Although it may
not seem like Tom actually loved Daisy. When he found out that Daisy was going to
Gatsby s parties, he followed her to Gatsby s to keep an eye on her. He even had a
background check on Gatsby to see who he really was because he felt threatened by
35. Hitler s Influence On The World War II
In the year 1940, many Germans stood in a square, saluting and chanting Hitler s
name. World War II has begun and many Germans hope for improvements in the
economy. Their leader is Adolf Hitler. Adolf Hitler, dictator of Germany in World
War II, was a powerful speaker who caused over 5 million deaths in concentration
camps. Though Hitler s impact can be felt in modern times, the roots of his atrocious
behavior began in childhood more specifically high school.
Years before Adolf Hitlerwas born, Hitler s great grandfather, Johann Georg
Hiedler, was a wandering miller. Before his second marriage he had an illegitimate
son named Alois Hitler s father. Since Alois was illegitimate, he kept his mother s
last name, Schicklgruber. In 1847 Hiedler vanished from the family and came back
thirty years later to change Alois s last name to Hitler. Currently, many historians
postulate if Hitler s great grandfather did not change Alois s last name to Hitler,
Adolf may not have created the impact he had on humanity (Shirer 6 7).
Alois had three marriages; his first wife was Anna Glasl Hoerer. Unfortunately, it
was not a happy marriage, and after sixteen years, he left. Sadly, his wife died three
years later. A month after his wife died, Alois Hitler married a cook named
Franziska Matzelsberger, through which he had a son, Alois and a daughter, Angela.
Franziska died within a year from tuberculosis and Alois Hitler moved on. (Shirer 8 9)
After Alois Hitler married, his third wife,
36. Question Two. Ed Organization Task Functions Are A Set
Question two
ED organization task functions are a set of strategies needed to achieve short and
long term goals. Generally, task functions include identifying community problems,
providing technical and analytical assistance, determining the resources necessary to
meet the economic development needs of a situation, developing networks among
individuals and institutions, and stimulating interaction among diverse groups to
achieve common objectives (J, Leigh, and Blakely 2013, p. 108)
The Beacon Council s work lines up with what we know about the task functions of
ED organizations in many aspects. President and CEO Larry K. Williams identified

The book advised analyzing employment data with a location quotient, a ratio of
industries represented locally to one of a reference economy. This is a valuable
equation for determining industry growth at a fixed period. When the OCOG chose
target industries for Miami, the specialized index would have assisted analysts in
predicting future economic changes and which sectors will provide the most
employment opportunities across all skill and income levels. As discussed in the
Cincinnati, Ohio Cluster Case study, after the LQ, analysts would determine the
occupational LQ to assess the skill base of the current workforce. Measuring job
growth rates by sector and comparison with national trends would predict areas with
healthy economies and those expected to grow. Furthermore, cluster identification
uses input/output analysis and local and national reports to unmask growing
industries and relate dependency or competitiveness between businesses while
identifying industries statistically inclined to grow.

37. St. Andrews And The Royal And Ancient Golf Course
The next day left the hotel and drove about 15 miles to St. Andrews and The Royal
and Ancient golf course. Compared to the all the other places where we stayed on
the trip, the hotel where we stayed just outside of St. Andrews could at best be
described as so so. It was sort of like an older motel in the USA, but it was clean
and reasonably comfortable and the dinner that night and breakfast the next morning
were good. Well, I should preface the latter comment and say I tried the Scottish
traditional breakfast of haggis , and I could not swallow the first bite. No one told
me it was made primarily with lamb, and I will not eat lamb under any circumstances.
After breakfast, we headed out to St. Andrews and the Royal and Ancient Club the
Mecca of golf. When we arrived at the clubhouse, we found out they were having a
board meeting that day and we would not be able to play on the Old course, but we
could go to the New course and not have any problem getting on at that course. The
first thing we had to do was rent some clubs because neither brought clubs on the
trip. So, we went to a small shop not far from the course and rented some clubs.
Playing golf in Scotland is a little different from playing golf in America. The
noticeable differences are the height of the rough and the depth of the sand bunkers.
The rough is almost knee high and sand traps and bunkers are about 6 or 7 feet deep
and reinforced with a brick retaining wall. Well, we got to the club, the

the final stage of the strategic planning model, illustrated in Figure 3.1, evolves
from conceptual to reality as our prospect assembles a schedule from all of their

produces a single execution model for each phase of the plan. The need for an
effective, simplified method to organize all activities, dates, and critical deadlines in

Hofstadter s Law describes an abyss entered by myriads of projects and tasks

39. Internal And External Factors That Affect The Business...
The business enviroment are all the factors that affect the business operations and
stability. There are two types of business enviroment; the external and internal
business enviroment. The external enviroment is unexpected and out of the control
of the business because those are factors that the business does not have power to
control. The internal enviroment of a business includes factors that are inside the
business which ones affect the way of doing the operations inside of the business;
however, the business has control over the internal enviroment factors. Both external
and internal factors are equally important and the decision taken in each of them can
affect the business positively or negatively.
Business Environment Business environment refers to all the internal and external
factors that affect a business operations and success, how the company function
around its employees, customers, and management. The business environment
constant changes; however, some changes are unpredictable because it is challenging
to predict what will happen in the future such as the social and economic changes.
The business environment is different from country to country, from place to place;
the United States economy is different than the Chinese economy and that is just one
reason that makes the business environment different from other country. In addition,
culture, preferences and tastes vary all over the world, and business needs to adapt to
meet the needs of the customers
40. Thomas Edison Contributions
Where would we be today without Thomas Alva Edison? How would our life be
different? Thomas Edison probably did more than any other man to influence the
industrial civilization in the world we live in today. He developed many devices that
greatly influenced life in the United States. Let us explore the life and contributions
of Thomas Edison.
Thomas Alva Edison was born February 11, 1847, in Milan, Ohio in a humble
brick house that still stands today. Edison was pulled from public school at the age
of twelve and taught by his mother at home. At eleven years old, he had a
chemical lab in the cellar of his parent s home, and at age twelve took a job as a
newspaper boy on a train. He had a chemical lab in a section of a baggage car and
ran a printing press where he made copies of the local newspaper. He also bought
and sold fresh fruit and vegetables along the train route. As you can tell, Thomas
Edison showed a work ethic and knowledge of business transactions that was
unusual for a boy of his age. While working at the train yard, Thomas Edison saved a
little boy who had fallen in the path of a freight car. The boy s father was the station
agent. As a show of thankfulness to Edison, he taught Edison telegraphy. Edison had
been interested in electricity, but telegraphy made him even more interested, and that
led him to his studies and experiments that resulted in some of the world s greatest
inventions.
In 1868 Edison filed his first patented invention, the electrical vote

the electrons entered an excited state and release energy in the form of visible light.
The light emitted is unique for every metal ion because every ion has a distinct
electron configuration. Scientists are then able to identify what substance was

43. Analysis Of Cave Of The Forgotten Dreams
In the movie Cave of the Forgotten Dreams, director Werner Herzog and a very
small crew are given the opportunity to go to France and see Chauvet Cave. While
watching the start of this movie, I was very surprised to see that they were limited
with how many people they could bring into the cave. I have gone to a cave in
South Dakota and they took hundreds of people in it at a time. So, seeing that I
think they only had like five crew members was very shocking. I was surprised
though how many experts they had working on mapping the map and doing other
tests on the cave. I thought maybe, there would only be like two experts in at a
time and not five or six. I also didn t know there was that many different experts
that all can work on the same thing at the same time. Also, while watching I was
surprised to see the equipment that they had to use.I never really thought about
how the lights can affect the cave walls and the paintings.I was impressed that they
filmed the movie in the cave with a non professional movie camera, I did not know
that there were other cameras that could work that well in the dark of a cave. In
class and watching this movie we find out that Chauvet Cave was discovered in
December of 1994 when Christian Hillaire, Eliette Brunel Deschamps and Jean
Marie accidently found it, because they had felt a draft. In the introduction to the
movie we find out that the cave sits next to this beautiful river named Pont d Arc.
We later find out that it might be this river that feeds into the cave that brings some
bones into it, such as golden eagle bones. I also find out that the entrance that these
hikers had found was actually not the true entrance. We find out that the actual
entrance was covered when the cave had collapsed in earlier times. I was really
surprised that they were able to find the actual entrance. I thought since the cave
had collapsed that it would have damaged or destroyed the original entrance. In the
cave I was shocked with how beautiful it was on the inside. The caves I have visited
have never looked this neat. When we first saw the inside we see that there were
these crystal icicle looking things all over the place and they looked really clean
compared to other caves that I have

Instead of returning RM cell by the destination end, the congestion information is

45. Human s Personality And Preferences May Change Over
Time
Despite the fact that human s personality and preferences may change over time,
philosophers have always sought the answers to how people have the impression that
they are the same person. At first, philosophers presumed that people need to have
the same body to be the same person. However, Locke proposed that consciousness,
which is in this case memoryis the key to determine identity. In this paper, I would
discuss how memory as the mental states grounds the notion of psychological
continuity. Raising the problem of circularity in the memory theory, I will explain
how to amend the psychological continuity to avoid the problem.
At first, philosophers used the same body theory to explain personal identity. They
assume that a person at one time is the very same person as a person later if and
only if they have the same body. However, one problem of the same body theory is
that biologically the body is constantly changing. A body ten years later would not
be the very same body at present. The problem makes the same body theory a false
condition. Therefore, it is imprudent to set the same body theory as the criteria to
determine personal identity. What thing that will remain the same even with
different bodies, that can help determine a person to be the same person earlier? The
answer is memory. Even though the body is changing over time biologically,
memories usually do not fade away with it. As a matter of fact, philosophers proposed
a new theory called the Psychological
46. The Holocaust And The Survivors Of The Holocaust
Even five years after the Holocaust, there were still survivors with nowhere to go.19
Few survivors attempted to return home, and most of those who did stayed only a
short time. They learned it was nearly impossible for them to be in places so closely
linked to their childhoods.20
Everything in their cities, towns and villages would remind them of years of
humiliation of unthinkable atrocities, of tragedy and irreparable loss.21 Those few
survivors that did decide to return to their home towns did not have it easy. Many
survivors lost almost everything; not just their families and friends, but also their
properties, businesses and belongings. Some survivors returning to their homes found
them to have new tenants in them refusing to move. Others found out that their
belongings like valuables or household items had been sold to fund the October 1943
rescue. By September 1945, 1,300 survivors of the Holocaust still had no permanent
homes.22 Many returning survivors faced taunts and threats from people in their
villages.23
There were also the physical aspects of attempting to return home. One Polish Jew
named Dora Rytman had survived the Holocaust and wanted to go home. It was
very difficult for anyone to return home because a lot of the tracks and roads were
in pieces because of previous bombings. Because of this, Dora had to take many
different trains to try to get home. It was very difficult to reach her home town
because it was snowing, and not many trains were going that

50. We Must Reform Our Criminal Justice System Essay
Hillary Clinton said, We can do better. We can not ignore the inequalities that persist
in our justice system that undermine our most deeply held values of fairness and
equality. She was correct in her statement, we need to reform our criminal justice
system because it is highly lacking in fairness and equality. 2.38 million Americans
are in prison, with another five million on probation or parole. 1 in 31 adults in the
United States are in jail, prison, or on probation or parole. (Ferner) The populations
of our prison are increasing, while trust in law enforcers is declining, and if we want
to solve the inequalities we must reform parts of our criminal justice system. We
should reform our criminal justice system to fix the inequalities of mandatory
sentences, bail, and we should create reentry programs to help released inmates stay
crimefree.
In the past years we have seen many riots and debates over the racism and
inequalities in our criminal justice system. We have heard story after story, and
watched video after video of police brutality and racism in America. We saw the
unfair outcome of the Zimmerman and Treyvon Martin case. When George
Zimmerman followed Treyvon Martin, a seventeen year old African American boy
who was walking around the neighborhood, just because he looked suspicious to him.
Even after notifying the police, Zimmerman followed Martin and ended up shooting
him, after Zimmerman had hung up with the dispatcher who told him they did not
need him
51. Samhain Research Paper
Samhain is celebrate on October 31, the name literally means Summer s End. This
is a Celtic holiday that was considered the end of the years and the beginning or the
new year. It is the time that is between time. Samhain was changed to All Hallows
when Christianity was booming. But the Christians celebrated it on May 13, but
since this was one of the favorite pagan holidays, it was not easily given up, so the
Christians moved the date of their All Saints/ All Hallows from May to November
first, the day after Samhain. Later in England, the holiday was abolished because of
all the pagan undertones that it had and was not restored until 1928. The reason for
restoring it then was because there was an assumption that all the old pagans have
died... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The animals I do agree with are the Cat and the Bat because both are creatures of
the night, and the cat is very mysterious. I would not have thought of a dog at all,
but more so of a Crow, since they are also mysterious and symbolize death to me.
The stones associated with Samhain makes sense because they are the colors of
Samhain also. And the symbols I associate with Samhain because they have just
been instilled into my head. Jack O Lanterns keep away the bad spirits, Masks are to
hide yourself so the spirits think that you are one of them, the waning moon makes
sense because it is the moon going into the New Moon phase and Samhain is the year
waning into the new
52. Independent Audits Of Employee Benefit Plans
Independent audits of employee benefit plans are a vital accountability mechanism.
An employee benefit plan audit provides a third party, independent report to
participants, plan managers, and the Department of Labor that indicates whether the
plan s financial statement provides accurate information to assess not only the plan s
present but future ability to pay participant s benefits. An employee benefitplan audit
must do more than substantiate financial statements; it must also address plan
operations including helping to assess whether the plan is operating in accordance to
the plan documents and amendments. There are multiple complex laws and
regulations that employee benefit and retirement plans must also comply with, and
failure to comply with such laws and regulation can result in substantial penalties.
The Employee Retirement Security Act of 1974 requires that employee benefit plans
with a hundred or more participants to be audited as part of their requirement to file
annual Form 5500 report. The Form 5500 is filed with the Department of Labor and
used to satisfy the Internal Revenue Services requirement to file an annual
information return. Inconsistencies in the Form 5500 report can result in the
Department of Labor performing their own audit. While auditing employee benefit
plans, auditors often find operational and administrative issues encountered by plans.
Of the many issues that arise, the more common problems are errors in definition of
compensation,
53. Hacienda Luisita Inequality
It all started in the year 1521 during the Spanish Colonization period. When the
Spaniards settled in Manila they conquered almost everything; from our culture to
our lands. One of those lands is the well known Hacienda Luisita, named after
Luisa, the wife of a Spanish man who first owned it. When the Philippines was freed
from colonial rule, the Hacienda Luisita was eventually bought by the Cojuangco
family. This is where the controversy started and where the battle began between the
small farmers, who just wanted to distribute the Hacienda equally, and the Cojuangco
family, who refused. According to them, they will be able to give parts of the land
should there be any tenants, but the family has officially stated that there were no
tenants in the Hacienda, therefore no one to distribute the land to, despite the
presence of the farmers. This decision still continues to be the subject of criticism
even in the present, cited as one of the many examples of inequality in the country.
Inequality has always been a never ending trend topic in the Philippines, and we can
see that there is indeed widespread inequality throughout the country today, defined in
sociology as the existence of unequal opportunities and rewards for different social
positions or statuses within a group or society. The Hacienda Luisita... Show more

The land was borrowed by the family from the farmers, with both parties agreeing
on a deal that, after 10 years, the Cojuangcos will return all of the land. However, as
of early 2016, the Cojuangco Aquino family has not yet returned most of the
borrowed land, depriving ten thousand families of their just, moral, historical, and
legal rights to the land and its fruits. This shows that inequality is still present, most
especially between people of power and those who are on the lower ranks of
