Essay About Human Rights
Crafting an essay on the subject of human rights is both a challenging and enriching endeavor.
The difficulty lies not only in the vastness and complexity of the topic but also in the
responsibility that comes with addressing issues fundamental to the essence of humanity. Human
rights encompass a broad spectrum of social, political, economic, and cultural aspects, making it
a multifaceted subject that demands a comprehensive understanding.
To effectively write about human rights, one must delve into historical perspectives,
philosophical foundations, legal frameworks, and contemporary challenges. Navigating through
the myriad of treaties, declarations, and international agreements requires meticulous research
and analysis. Moreover, interpreting the evolving nature of human rights in different cultural
contexts adds another layer of complexity to the task.
Expressing thoughts coherently and persuasively on such a significant topic requires a profound
awareness of diverse perspectives and a nuanced understanding of the struggles individuals face
worldwide. Striking the right balance between academic rigor and empathetic resonance is
crucial. Addressing sensitive issues while remaining objective poses an additional challenge,
demanding a careful selection of words and a judicious approach to avoid unintended biases.
Furthermore, creating an essay on human rights necessitates staying updated on current events
and emerging debates, as the landscape of human rights is continually evolving. Synthesizing
information from various sources while maintaining academic integrity adds another layer of
difficulty.
In conclusion, composing an essay on human rights demands intellectual rigor, empathetic
engagement, and a deep commitment to justice. The process involves navigating through
historical, legal, and cultural intricacies, all while staying attuned to the dynamic nature of
contemporary challenges. Despite its challenges, delving into the complexities of human rights
can be a rewarding intellectual journey, offering profound insights into the essence of humanity
and the ongoing pursuit of a more just world.

The State Of Virginia By Thomas Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson created two facades when it came to racism and slavery. Thomas
Jefferson had a personal history with slavery and owning a plantation, but in certain
instances he appeared to support equality like in his letter to Benjamin Banneker.
Different texts like Notes on the State of Virginia by Thomas Jeffersonwith the
related documents edited by David Waldstreicher, and Banneker and Jefferson
Letter Exchange are examples of the hypocrisy committed by Jefferson. This
connects to modern day democracy because it shows how public leaders, past and
present, often stand for ideas but do not live them out. Jefferson s political work and
life, along with the other founding fathers will always influence modern day
America. Jefferson s writings on scientific evidence and black inferiority have had an
impact on modern day racism.
Thomas Jefferson did a numerous amount of political work for our country. He is
idolized as one of our country s founding fathers. He was one of the first to take part
in American Democracy and signed the infamous Declaration of Independence
Jefferson was a culture hero and always will be. When looking at different literary
texts about Jefferson, or written by Jefferson himself it is hard to ignore his
relationship with slavery. Notes on the State of Virginia by Jefferson and the related
documents edited by David Waldstreicher show us a glimpse into his connection with
slavery.
Born into the Virginia Gentry, Thomas Jefferson would not at first
Critical Study And Analysis Of Oral Care
The purpose of this document is a critical study and analysis of the oral care
provided by nursing staff as part of the Ventilator Care Bundle (VCB) and to assess
whether the frequency of mouth care performed is related to the prevention of
Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) in patients mechanically ventilated
(Zilberberg et al. 2009).
The following document is a case study written by an intensive care nurse, who will
explore the oral care provided to a patient admitted in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
and will assess the overall care process. Additionally, the frequency, products used and
techniques performed will be evaluated.

ICU patients suffer from a broad range of pathologies, requiring MV, sedation and
use of multiples devices, which do not allow patients to protect their airway
(Augustyn. 2007; Kollef. 2004).
Oral care aims to supply an adequate hygiene level, which leads to reduce
colonisation of dental plaque and oropharynx and to reduce the aspiration of
contaminated secretions into the lower airway (Feider et al. 2010). Research has
demonstrated that colonisation of the airway and aspiration of colonised saliva are
the two main pathogenic causes of VAP (Adib Hajbaghery et al. 2011). Other cause
is the production of a biofilm along the endotracheal tube (ETT) which contains large
quantities of microbes that could be spread into the lungs by ventilator induced
breaths (Keyt et al. 2014; Palomar et al. 2010). Additionally, instilling saline into the
ETT, suctioning secretions, repositioning the ETT or coughing, could dislodge the
biofilm into the airway and increase the risk of VAP (Moore. 2003; Morehead and
Pinto. 2002).
According to Hunter (2012, p.40) VAP is a hospital acquired pneumonia that occurs
48 hours or more after tracheal intubation or acute tracheostomisation . VAP is one of
the most common nosocomial infection responsible for one third of mortal
respiratory infections in European ICUs (Adib Hajbaghery et al. 2011).
Despite of its high incidence, identifying VAP infection requires a

Octopus Research Papers
Recently, we reported on a new study from scientists who managed to sequence the
first octopus genome, trying to map out the cephalopod s entire DNA. Sure, what
they found was extraordinary and they proved that octopuses are very different from
other creatures, but you are not prepared for what is coming.

The team of scientists published their impressive study, for the purpose of which they
used the California two spot octopus as their subject. Then, they combined forces
with a group of researchers from the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology in
Japan and, together, they discovered the octopus strange genetics that made it the first

Also, both humans and octopuses have a large brain, closed circulatory system, and
their eyes are composed of an iris, retina, and lens. However, the most amazing
discovery was the ability of the octopus to improve on its own genetic code, which is
common in humans and other animals, but octopuses can even edit their own RNA.
Trying to adjust to any condition an octopus can adapt its nerves in order to fight the
extremely low temperature of the ocean. Octopuses can also taste their food due to a
function of their sucker, making them selective with their dinner.
BUT WHAT IF THE OCTOPUS IS AN ALIEN?
Those who believe that octopuses come from aliens, rely on the similarities that
these creatures have with humans since all the above are independently developed
in another species different from our own mammal origins, and it may seem strange,
but we will get an answer soon. After all, this project has given the world many
possibilities and the process of breaking down the genome has only just begun,
keeping us in suspense for what is about to
Passing Nella Larsen Summary
Throughout the second part of Passing by Nella Larsen, the reasons for each of the
women passing seem to be revealed. Also, these chapters awaken many questions
like Why didn t Clare stand up for herself? , Why didn t Clare come clean? , and If
Clare wants to rejoin the community, would she leave John? . These questions start
to arise in the beginning of part two, when John mentions that They always come
back. I ve seen it happen time and time again. (pg. 55). This contributes to the idea
that Clare might feel regret for passing permanently for so long, and leaves the
reader wondering why she didn t come clean if she wants to rejoin the black
community. Later when Clare decides to visit Irene, we see them get emotional over
Clare s situation.
The Expansion Of The British Empire In Africa
The British Empire in Africa
I chose the above mentioned article for my research that describes the British
Empire in Africa. The expansion of the British Empire in Africa began in 1880. In
less than 40 years, it had control over 458 million people and 25% of the world s
land. (1). After a long time of colonization, the British rule finally ended in 1981. Its
rule ended because it could not maintain such a big Empire and Africans were
fighting for their independence. It was the first time happened Britain to involvement
in Africa especially in Egypt. Egypt was a member of the Turkish Empire in 1882.
So, it was heart broking to national revolt that scared Britain. If you look back the
purchase of the Suez Canal shares in 1875, the Britain financial, and their business
was grown in that area. Therefore, Britain did not allow their investments in Egypt.
Jeopardized, Egypt was route to India. As the result, they tried to protect the
investment of Britain because they used to control Egypt all most 40 years before
against the colonies of Gladstone. And also, Gladstone hoped that. As important that
territorial control of Britain; Gladstone expanded the Britain, empire, and change
from informal rule, and created jobs in North Africa. This was important to do and to
protect economic interests of the empire. It was well secured the route to India. The
growing into Sudan was compared to the Egypt because it was a chance. Again,
Britain was attracted the
Long Pieces Research Paper
Long Pieces Reflection The short pieces that I have chosen are Technology is in
Control and Kidnapped by fate. These are both fictional stories that I have created
and are both set in a very futuristic world. Technology is in Control is set in a
dystopian society where a dictator controls a whole society with technology. While,
Kidnapped by fate is similar by the fact that a dictator controls a group of people by
trapping them in a car in a deserted town. I really enjoy writingpieces likes these that
fall into dystopian and fictional categories. I have always had a creative mind and
love the futuristic style where nothing has to make sense realistically. I think that
these types of writings are definitely my go to when it comes to writing longer
pieces because they are the funnest and easiest for me. Of the pieces that I have
chosen I think my favorite is Kidnapped by Fate I really like the idea behind it and
the mystery in it. When I was creating this I was watching a lot of Criminal Minds
and this piece reminds me of something that would be on that show. This piece is
shorter than my other piece, but I ended it on a huge cliff hanger so I think I could
easily make this into a novel. I think if I had more time I would continue this piece

as I started writing it I found that it was becoming a lot like my other pieces and I felt

Contributions Of The Harlem Renaissance
The Harlem Renaissance was a time era that began in the 1920s and it marked a
period where a cultural, social, and artistic explosion took place in Harlem. This
happened between the end of World War 1 and during the middle of the 1930s.
Harlem was a place where most African Americans wanted to be, many of them
actually migrated there which was known as The Great Migration. With all the
fascinating things that we benefited from the Harlem Renaissancerepresented a rebirth
of culture. The Jazz and Blues evolved in this era and were very popular, some of the
most famous Jazz and Blues musicians were Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday, Henry
Webb, and Louis Armstrong, along with many other African American
singers and
composers who became extremely famous during this time. A very well known club
was the, Cotton Club this was where Roll Morton and Louis Armstrong drew huge
crowds of both white Americans and African Americans, this club was where they all
caught what was known as Jazz fever. Our nation was blessed with this amazing
music of Jazz and Blues, which has been around since and many still love this music
today. Many African Americans made huge impacts throughout the time but there
was a woman Novelist, Anthropologist, and short story writer whose work stood out
distinguishing herself from all the other writers. She is known as Zora Neale Hurston,
she was born on January 7, 1891, in Nostalgia, Alabama but moved to Eatonville,
Florida as a toddler. Her family moved to Florida where her father was elected
Mayor of the town during 1897 1902. Her father was the Mayor as well as a baptist
preacher and her mother was a school teacher. In 1904 her family suffered the
tragedy of her mother s death, years later her father remarried and Hurston along
with her siblings, had a step mom. In order to support herself and finance her
efforts to get an education she had to work a variety of jobs, one of which includes
being a maid for an actress while she was on tour. She earned an associate degree at
Howard University and later moved herself to the city of Harlem in New York City
where she joined the uprising art scenery. Nonetheless, Hurston quickly began
studying in order to have novels and short stories to publish, one of

Terrorism Is Very Real For Mnes Essay
Sadly, terrorism permeates everyday society, and the intensifying impact of terrorism
on international business is a global phenomenon with implications for both theory
and practice. The research question addressed by this exploratory study is how
international businesses apply past terrorism exposure and experience from operating
in risky locations to create organizational preparedness and performance resilience to
absorb and endure future terrorist attacks. This paper contributes to the international
business literature by addressing a gap in the literature how firms can prepare for and
respond to terrorism. The study contributes to a theory of organizational resilience by
identifying antecedents and associated interactions. The paper contributes to practice
by exploring the role of business continuity planning as a bridge between terrorism
experience and performance resilience.
Introduction: Terrorism and International Business
The increasing effect of terrorism on international business is at once a tragedy and
a serious challenge to executives and researchers struggling to identify the factors
that shape a firm s ability to deal with both the threat and the reality of terrorism.
Terrorism is very real for MNEs. As of 2014, businesses ranked fourth in the table of
targets, after the government and the police, but ahead of the military (United States
Department of State Country Reports on Terrorism, 2015). Between 1968 and 2009,
there were 16,301 fatalities associated

The Arnolfini Portrait Symbolism
One of the best Netherlandish Renaissance panel paintings is The Arnolfini
Portrait, by Jan van Eyck. Painted in 1434 on 3 vertical oak panel boards. Its
dimensions are 32.4 inches x 23.6 inches; panel 33.3 inches x 24.6 inches. It is on
display at the National Gallery in London. It is a full length portrait believed to
portray an Italian merchant, Giovanni di Nicolao Arnolfini and his wife. It was
painted in 1434, but the wife in the picture died in 1433 Jan van Eyck applied thin
layers of translucent glazes to intensify both colorand tone. The realism of this
painting is achieved by intense colors, variations in shade and light, the look of
three dimensional forms, almost perfect textures, and the use of direct and diffused
light. This painting is of a richly dressed couple, in what might be a reception room,
with a bed, chest, and blooming cherry tree outside. The deep symbolism of many
objects found in this painting are reinforced using color, light, and many of the
principals and elements of art.
The use color holds a lot of meaning in this painting, and the use of color reveals very
important symbolism itself. The values of hues were used to symbolize the vast
wealth of the two subjects, from the rich tones of the room to their clothing, but they
also mean more than that. The use of intense green on the woman represents that she
was from a family of merchants or high business. Since the woman was deceased
when this paining was done, her bright and rich blue and
Property Crime And Property Crimes
A crime occurs when someone breaks the law by an overt act, omission or neglect
that can result in punishment. A person who has violated a law, or has breached a
rule, is said to have committed a criminal offense.
There are two main categories of crime: property crime and violent crime:
PROPERTY CRIMES
A property crime is committed when someone damages, destroys or steals someone
else s property, such as stealing a car or vandalizing a building.
Property crimes are by far the most commonly committed crime in the United States.
VIOLENT CRIMES
A violent crime occurs when someone harms, attempts to harm, threatens to harm or
even conspires to harm someone else. Violent crimes are offenses which involve
force or threat of force, such as rape, robbery or homicide.
Some crimes can be both property crimes and violent at the same time, for example
carjacking someone s vehicle at gunpoint or robbing a convenience store with a
handgun.
OMISSION CAN BE A CRIME
But there are also crimes that are neither violent nor involve property damage.
Running a stop sign is a crime, because it puts the public in danger, even though no
one is injured and no property is damaged. If the law is not obeyed, there could be
injury and damage.
Some crimes can involve no action at all, but rather inaction. Withholding medication
or neglecting someone who needs medical care or attention can be considered a crime.
If you know someone who is abusing a child and you do not report it, under some

money. I spend a lot of money going out. When I first started my junior year of high
school some of my friends were able to get jobs so I was even more motivated to get
one myself. So one year ago I applied for a job at Genki Sushi. I went to the interview
and they told me I was too young to apply because they serve alcohol at their
restaurants. After that I was pretty sad that I didn t get the job and had to go back to
square one and look for another one. It took me months to find a job that I wanted,
and a lot of applications. I finally found a job after a long search and it felt right
applying for this job. I wanted experience from my first job so I would be able to
apply for more bigger corporations. The job I applied for was a fairly new and served
tasty sukiyaki bowls. Every time my rrestaurant was on the radio I knew that the
grand opening was going to be huge. My boss hired about five people and I really
enjoyed working with them. About a month before the grand opening we all went
under training and was taught how to prep, cook, cashier, and clean for the grand
opening. I thought it was a fairly easy job because I was able to do all of that and
learn it with no problem. All of my coВworkers seem to know what they re doing so
I was confident that we would do well in the business. The one thing was that we

When reading NPR article 15 years of wrangling over yellowstone snowmobiles ends

Snowmobiles were first allowed into the Park in 1963. At the time, the National Park
Service (NPS) encouraged sensible snowmobile use in the Park as a way to
increase winter visitation. But as snowmobile visitor numbers have grown to more
than 75,000 each winter up to 720 per day so has concern for the effects that
snowmobile emissions, noise, and crowds have on the health of the Greater
Yellowstone Ecosystem and those who enjoy it. ( Snowmobiles). This shows how
many people since 1963 have came to the park snowmobiling at yellowstone. One of
the biggest concerns about snowmobiling in Yellowstone is whether or not
snowmobile emissions cause air pollution. Those opposed to snowmobiles attest that
emissions can lead to health problems for park employees who are subjected to
prolonged exposure, while snowmobile supporters contend that the toxicity levels of
emissions and exposure rates are not significant enough to cause harm. (
Snowmobiles). This shows how the major effects people think snowmobiles have and
what their reason for not wanting it. Many studies have looked at how wintertime
stress affects animal health and survival, but measuring the added stress of vehicle
proximity and noise emissions is problematic. Aside from observed interactions
between snowmobiles and animals, it is difficult to determine what kinds of long
term impacts snowmobiles may have on animal health from sources such as toxins in
snow, water, or soil and the bioaccumulation effects of eating plants that may have
taken up these toxins. Furthermore, even highly specialized biochemical

Federalism Vs. Cooperative Federalism
Federalism is a critically important concept in helping to understanding the American
political system. The Founding Fathers of the United States had to answer important
questions on how to handle power and responsibility between the states and national
government. They did not want to have a situation where the federal governmenthad
all the power. They had just fought a war against Britain because of that idea.
However, they did not want each individual state doing essentially whatever they
wanted. There are differences between dual federalismand cooperative federalism.
However, it is important to fully address and understand what federalism is and why
it was created.
Federalism is a concept that refers to a system of government in which power is
shared between the national and non national governments (Federalism, 2014). Dual
federalism is a term used to describe a circumstance in which national and state
governments are sovereign and equal within their constitutionally allocated spheres
of authority (Federalism, 2014). Cooperative Federalism is a model of federalism
in which all governments are linked and participate in the administration of
programs. It is now referred to as New Federalism. Creative Federalism was a term
used to describe the Great Society program of Lyndon Johnson (Federalism, 2014).
President Johnson sought to devolve powers to the states using creative federalism.
The devolution of responsibilities to the states began under President Nixon, but were

Explain the Importance of CONFIDENTIALITY AND DATA PROTECTION
Define Data Protection Act 1998
It is a law that protects personal privacy and upholds individuals rights.
It applies to anyone who handles or has access to information about individuals. The
Act also gives rights to the people the information is about. By law, everyone in the
workplace must follow the rules set out in the Act and help protect individuals rights.

Data protection is a very important piece of legislation that was brought into power
in 1998, because it has been designed to prevent confidential and personal
information being passed on to other people and any relevant companies without a
person s consent. This also means that any information that is stored of children
should be kept in either a password protected or lockable location.
As a childminder, if I stored any personal details about other people on my computer
or any digital format (including smartphones and photos on digital cameras), I would
probably need to notify the Information Commissioner s Office (ICO) that I was a
data controller for data protection purposes.
The ICO is the UK s independent public body set up to promote access to official
information and protect personal information. The ICO enforces and oversees the
Data Protection Act 1998.
Since 2008, as part of the Early Years Foundation Stage, childminders in England
have been expected to keep more detailed records about individual children s
development and it is likely that if you keep these on a computer, you will need to
register as a Data Controller with the ICO. If you are in any doubt about whether you
will need to register,

Drone Training Research Paper
When you were buying your very first drone, did you have any idea that these
aerial vehicles would become so popular and useful that full bodied training
courses and study modules would be made available to public through university
and college degree programs? Well, there are a good number of colleges in the
USA that are already offering drone training to thousands of students. Of course,
drone engineering is a full fledged discipline because there are so many types of
unmanned aerial vehicles now available throughout the world ranging from simple
just for fun drones to combat flying vehicles housing missiles and other payload and
military surveillance drones. Next is the category of drone pilots that need robust

Since the concept is relatively new and still in its infancy, there is a horde of
opportunities for fresh graduates of drone training programs. With the growing
number of people who wish to take these courses, there is also a need for more
teachers and instructors who will be paid huge amounts of money for transferring
their skills to the next generation of drone experts. How to Apply If you are
interested in one of the degree programs or certifications in drone training, you first
need to do a little research on various colleges that are currently offering study
programs in this field. There are online degree programs as well, which you can
easily take while sitting in the comfort of your home. The application procedure is
just like applying for any other degree program; you need to fill out an application
form and submit it to the concerned department along with required documents and
a covering letter to show your interest in a particular college. Before you decide to
apply, determine whether you want to learn to build drones or to fly them. These are
the two basic categories that exist when it comes to drone training or education.

Stuart Hall Decodings
The communication theorist that could explain the events that happened in case 3
would be Stuart Hall. In his essay, Stuart Hall said decodings do not follow inevitably
from encodings (Hall p.59), which means even though the media encodes information
to an audience, each individual decodes the messagedifferently. This is called the
individual interpretive moment where the decoder interpret messages in different
ways depending on different variables like their cultural background, social behavior
and experiences. Which means, the encoder does not rule the outcome. In case 3, the
encoder would be the producer or the broadcaster, the medium would be the
broadcast or television and the decoder would be the whomever is watching the game.

The first position he talks about is dominant hegemonic. This is when audiences
agree with what the media want or expect them to, where there are little to no
miscommunication. Hall refers to this as perfectly transparent communication (Hall
p.59). This is where majority of the audience stand. Negotiated position is when a
member of the audience agrees with one part and disagrees with another part of the
media. In terms of the hockey game, the person who had the ticket to the game would
be in this position. Even though the Canadians beat the Leafs, she/he still thought the
game was enjoyable. The last position would be oppositional, which is when the
audience rejects or disagree with the message completely. The room mates would be

Mother To Son By Langston Hughes Meaning
There is no mystery in Mother to Son as to who is speaking to whom. In fact, the
title of the poem alone provides all of the exposition needed to understand that this
piece is set up as a mother s advice to her son. Presumably, this poem represents the
advice that Langston Hughes may have received from his own mother. The imagery
of a staircase opens up the work, which begins, Well, son, I ll tell you: / Life for me
ain t been no crystal stair (Hughes 1 2). Line two, in particular, immediately conjures
several associations in the mind of the reader. First, many audiences will be familiar
with the concept of a stairway to heaven, as such a proverbial structure is mentioned
often through world history in works such as the Bible and other... Show more content

It s had tacks in it, / And splinters, / And boards torn up, / And places with no carpet
on the floor / Bare (Hughes 3 7). Clearly, this woman s life has been difficult. More
than that, by using imagery of tacks, splinters, and torn up boards, the mother is
telling her son that at times her life has been outright dangerous. It is no mistake
that Hughes chooses to use images of objects that can easily do physical harm.
Lines three through seven confirm that the mother s life journey has been more
than hard; indeed, it has been perilous. However, as the poem continues, mother
tells son that she has always managed to advance in spite of the obstacles on her
particular staircase. But all the time / I se been a climbin on, / And reachin landin
s, / And turnin corners, / And sometimes goin in the dark / Where there ain t been
no light (Hughes 8 13). During these lines, the tone of the poem slowly turns from
hopeless to hopeful. True, the mother s life has been dangerous a fraught with
obstacles, and yet she has thus far overcome each one of her challenges. The
phrases, reachin landin s and turnin corners instill a sense of success in the mind of
the reader, as both are common colloquial sayings that reflect a reprieve from
hardship or a change for the better. Even through the darkness, still the mother climbs
on. In other words, though she is at times unsure of her current position, she never
loses sight of her
Pros And Disadvantages Of Evolution
Serious scientific publications disputing evolution are all but nonexistent. Most
claims that deniers of the evolution manage to come up with are effortlessly refuted
with the help of logic and common sense. Even if their objections are flimsy, the
sheer number and diversity of the claims challenging the ideas of evolution can put
even well informed people at a disadvantage. One of the strongest arguments
providing grounds for doubting evolution is so called irreducible complexitywhich
says that living things have tremendously complex features at the anatomical,
cellular and molecular levels that could not function if they were any less intricate
or sophisticated. This argument may be considered quite strong because even
Charles Darwin wrote in chapter 6 of his famous work On the Origin of Species : If
it could be dРµmonstrated that any complex organ existed, which could not possibly
have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would
absolutely break down. [5]
Indeed, many people find it difficult to imagine how from two elementary notions
random mutation, and the filtering power of the environment have emerged, over
millennia, such marvels as eyes, the wings of birds and the human brain. According
to Michael Behe, researcher of biochemistry and professor at Lehigh University in
Pennsylvania, evolution simply cannot produce complex structures in a single
generation as would be required for the formation of irreducibly complex
Psychodynamic Approaches And The Psychodynamic
Approach
The purpose of understanding and utilizing a variety of psychodynamic approaches is
for the humanistic well being, in connection with the client using a client centered
therapeutic approach. The reason for using a psychodynamic approach is unveiling
the conscious and unconscious mind, from the client s emotional state of mind. The
psychodynamic approach focuses on the beginning stages of the clients childhood
years, typically analyzing events from birth breaking from six years old. The
human mind unconscious and conscious state determines who we are and how we
will be from our past carrying over to our present, and dictating our future.
Henceforth, the effects of our state of mind come from past events in our
subconscious mind, which plays a major role in our adult life. As an illustration,
Sigmund Fraud, a psychologist theoretical ordained the importance of childhood
events, which play a major part in our daily lives. The definition of psychodynamic
approach is unconscious thoughts, pressures of society, family events, people s
childhood event, and biological forces. A professional person in the area of
psychologymust be in tune, with the client using empathy and code of ethics. For
example, the theories are psychoanalysis, analytical, or individual approach which
deals with the person s state of well being.
Second, the therapeutic sides explore a ray of techniques from a psychodynamic
approach, with an umbrella for therapeutic approaches using Psychoanalysis,

Effective Use Of Dramatic Irony In Shakespeare s Hamlet
In his tragic play, Hamlet, William Shakespeare staunchly demonstrates how one s
vehemence in a deathly scheme may lead to his/her own demise. Shakespeare uses
tragedy to convey the madness that Hamlet progressively develops from his uncle s
betrayal, dramatic irony to emphasize the corruption of King Claudius, and religious
allusion to allow for better understanding of the betrayal between King Claudius and
his brother.
The main conflict of the play stems from King Claudius betrayal of his own brother.
When Hamlet discovers that King Claudius killed his father, Hamlet makes it his
priority to avenge for the death of the former king. The chain of events that unfold
after Hamlet s discovery expresses the tragedy that Shakespeare utilizes. ... Show

everything they do, who is going to tell them not to have a few alcoholic drinks and

Many eighteen and nineteen year old students have been told by their parents, like
myself, what to do and what not to do as well. The drinking age is 21 for a reason,
and that is when you will drink! my mom reminded me as we were buying a small
refrigerator for my dorm. Sure enough, I was already making comments in my head,
Well I am mature so a few drinks will not do any bad. As college students are told the
same things, how to avoid going to parties and stay focused in school, most will have
the eagerness to do the opposite as what they are told and to also decide from own
experience if drinking alcohol and partying will do them bad or not after.
Unfortunately, when college students try to learn from life experience and test their
limits with alcohol, many negative outcomes can be created from this. This is why a
factual presentation done by second or third year undergraduate college students to
incoming freshmen on the seriousness of alcohol consumption can be a solution.
College freshman hear from students that have recently gone through what they are

Analysis Of Not Just A Story
Not Just a Story
Digital storytelling provides an authentic personal learning experience as such;
student investment is greatly increased resulting in greatly improved motivation and
end product (Jakes, n.d.). David Jakes s quote gives us a quick glance into the realm
of digital storytelling. Digital storytelling is the use of digital multimedia that
includes music, video, voice, and pictures to tell about a topic such as a personal
story, or anything else one would want. Joe Lambert (2013) defines it into three
different spectrums, collaboration between facilitator and storyteller , the role of
literary voice and style that grows out of it , and the form the stories take (p. 37).
These stories can take on very emotional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many digital stories illustrate this quote perfectly. The relationships built in the
author s life helped guide them through to either find their passion or show them
through a tough time. We are social beings, and being connected is shown to make
you healthier, make you happier, and is also critical to being a human.
Confronting bias is also another theme that comes into play in the process of digital
storytelling. Whether that bias is towards peoples of other faiths, colors, orientations,
or other qualities, it is important to remember that the connection that was previously
mentioned applies to everybody. The connection between all humans should more
readily accepted. This can be done by creating conversation to create understanding
between peoples. Kwame Appiah (2007) agrees that bias can be solved with
conversation saying: It begins with the simple idea that in the human community, as
in national communities, we need to develop habits of coexistence: conversation in
its older meaning, of living together, association (Appiah, XIX). Development of
better relations between humans with conversation and understanding is pivotal in
starting to eliminate some of the bias we have. Digital storytelling brings this along in
some stories with the authors using their voice to try to create social change and start
conversations within our communities.
Digital stories have a positive effect when used to gather people together. It allows
Personality Analysis Of Stephanie Tanner In Full House

This character personality analysis analyzes the character of Stephanie Tanner from
the prominent television shows Full House and Fuller House with Erik Erikson s
eight stages theory, which consists of eight stages that a person goes through from
infancy to adulthood that positively or negatively effect personality development.
This analysis specifically uses stages four, five, and six to apply to Stephanie

about the character. The paper begins with an explanation of the eight stages theory,
and then goes on to apply the stages to Stephanie Tanner.

In this stage, children enter school, and their teacher becomes an important figure in
their lives. During this stage, the child s peer group, such as their classmates,
becomes much more significant, and the child begins to feel the need to win
approval by displaying typical abilities that society constructs. If the child is
encouraged in their initiative attempts, they develop a stronger sense of confidence
in their ability to achieve set goals, but if the child is unable to develop the set skill,
they begin to feel inferior.
The fifth stage is the identity versus role confusion stage, in which adolescents search
for a sense of self and personal identity through exploration of personal values and
goals. This stages represents the transition from childhood to adulthood. Erikson
claims that two separate identities are connected with this stage: the sexual and the
occupational. Failure to create a sense of identity during this stage can lead to role
confusion.
The sixth stage is the intimacy versus isolation stage, which occurs in young
adulthood. During this stage, people begin to venture into more serious and long
term relationships. If the completion of this stage is successful, a sense of
commitment and safety are achieved, while if the completion of this stage is
unsuccessful, a sense of isolation and loneliness can

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
A diagnostic medical sonographer who specializes in obstetric sonography is able
to capture the images of a fetus inside the mother s uterus. This type of sonography
is used to monitor the growth and development of the fetus as well as its health.
Imagine seeing a parent s joyful expression towards one another when they hear the
sound of their baby s heartbeat for the first time. Or to witness their smiles from ear
to ear when they get to see their baby move and wiggle about inside the mother over
the ultrasound screen. This special moment is something that an obstetric sonographer
has the pleasure of witnessing every day. Pursuing an education is important when
it comes to being successful at a career. To become a Diagnostic Medical
Sonographer, it is essential to graduate high school and college, taking all the
required classes that are necessary. High school classes that are most beneficial to
students wanting to become a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer are classes in
anatomy, physiology, and physics (Kriegh, Chaylene). To become a Diagnostic

Summary Of The Book Of Galatians
Another biblical principle represented in the founding themes of the U.S. is equal
opportunity for all. The book of Galatians erases the line between Jew and Greek,
enslaved and free, and male and female. This example applies to culture today.
Through a biblical lens, it is obvious that people are not seen as creatures differing
from one another, just as two animals of the same species are not seen as different:
a bear is a bear, even as different species of bears are recognized. In the same way,
all humans are equal, even if they come from different places and acquire different
cultural habits. They are born with unalienable civil liberties, among these the right to
life, liberty of conscience, and the pursuit of private property. Merely... Show more

In the States, anti Americanism based on postmodernism was shown in two different
ways. One was mentioned above, the rebellion against traditional social culture
following the wars, and the other was a disagreement toward the U.S. administration
responsible for reassembling America after the war, specifically regarding foreign
policy and international relations. Extreme leftists expressed a deep discontentment
with the fighting attitude of administrations past. Avoiding, disassembling, and
refuting Communist tendencies all over the world intrigued the nation as a whole,
except for newly identified extremists. Priorities of the Administrations included
rebuilding the economic system of the country following the Great Depression,
maintaining hegemony, perfecting homeland security, and completely redefining
foreign policy procedures. Differentiating opinions of approaches to the task created
the divide in society, therefore leading in the disapproval and revolt. For the
postmodern, without any foundation of truth, illegitimate policies abroad, and the
disapproval clearly shown in the States for such, was unprecedented. The actions of
foreign administrations were right and good for them, because there was no standard.
Assuming such only encouraged postmoderns to repudiate the authority of the
government and cause rebellion, publicized in revolts, protests,
The Colorless Life In The Movie The Giver
5,000 feet up the rusty door creaks open and the air catches your thick blonde hair.
Go ahead and jump , yells the flight attendant, you leap and feel weightless as you

course of life we make choices on what we will and won t do every single day.
Decisions may be minor or major and with every cause comes an effect. I fear the
boredom that comes with not learning and not taking chances voices Robert
Fulghum. We should constantly live in the moment in order to learn, take chances,
and discover the unknown. Each day student make their way to school and fill
their brains with knowledge of various students. However, this is not the only way
to learn. For example, many are unaware of the thrill from jumping out of plane and
soaring through the clouds. By executing a new plan we can learn about the
experience and live on to tell others about it. Waking up not knowing anything or
learning anything new would result in a colorless life. The colorless life is
illustrated in the movie The Giver , where teenagers live in a constant state or no

Religion In Mulan
The movie Mulan portrayed a young and beautiful Chinese female who always
seems to place disappointment and dishonor on her herself, her father, and her
families last name. Mulan depicted as a nontraditional chinese female. Honestly, She
doesn t fit in with the Chinese traditional culture whatsoever due to the reasons she
speaks her mind, disobeys orders, and she impersonated a soldier by disguising
herself as a man to fight a war. Throughout the movie, Mulan and her family
continues to pray to their ancestors in hope for their ancestors will answer their
prayers and requests.
In the mythical movie, Mulan proved to continue to use spiritual and religious prayer.
Throughout the movie, Mulan wanted to be known as an honor to her family.
Instead, Mulan proves to be a dishonor to everyone she comes into contact with.
Although, everything she did seemed to furoate her family member, townspeople,
citizens, and even the military.
Mulan and her family used spiritual and religious prayer to bring honor to her

Essay on Unseen Compo
From the passage, Hunting for Medicines in China , it talks about a writer who
travels deep into the mountains of China to search for a rare and special herb
called, the golden hairpin. In the following paragraphs, I am going to describe how
the writer involves the reader in the search for the golden hairpin by conveying how
the writer builds a sense of wonder about the golden hairpin and the it s setting, how
are tension and suspense developed and the use of language.
From the first paragraph, the line, According to legend...in order to cure a man he

While short sentence used in the line then he disappeared and personification used
in the line Swallowed by the clouds further create tension and suspense because it
causes us to wonder what will happen next since being swallowed by the clouds
creates a sense of mysterious and enigmatic feel which involves the readers in the
search. In addition, the use of tense involves the readers because the change of tense
into present past tense throughout the passage gives a sense of immediacy which
creates tension.
Furthermore, the line, In front of me rose a tall, slender, graceful, solitary peak. It
looked like one in a painting...I could hear the sound of mountain streams...the peak

tall, slender, graceful, solitary and simile is used to describe the peak which creates
an imagery of the scene on the mountain. While the use of senses of hearing and sight
further involves the readers as it gets the readers to imagine the setting.

Human Comfort within the Buildings Report
Student: Ryan Sheehan Teacher: Mrs Keyes
Scenario:
A property developer is converting an old railway station into retail and office
accommodation. The client is keen to make the working environment for the staff as
comfortable as possible. As a consultant, explain how this can be done by addressing
the relevant grading criteria.
Introduction:
To start off this assignment I will look at an old railway station. The image below
shows how the old railway station looks.
The property developer is hoping to convert this railway station into a retail and
comfortable office building. This building is very old and cold so a lot of work will
have to be done to make the office and retail building comfortable for the people that
will use the building. To ensure the building is comfortable the visual, temperature
and acoustic factors have to be considered. There is a large amount of space
available at this old run down train station so the new office and retail building will
be fairly large. This office building will have a small coffee shop inside so it is
handy for the workers to eat their lunch without having to leave the building. The
final product I hope will look something like the image below.
Task 1a
Identify the basic factors that will influence human comfort in the office
accommodation
The Importance Of The Beringia Theory In America
Who first arrived in the Americas? It is a question that scientists have been
debating for years using various artifacts and pieces of evidence to create theories.
Some theories include the Beringia Theory, the Coastal Migration Theory, the
Open Ocean Theory, and the Solutrean Hypothesis. The most plausible theory is the
Solutrean Hypothesis. This theory explains the travel route of the first Americans
with factual support. The Beringia Theory is the oldest theory of the four. This
theory begins during the last ice age when global cooling occurred. Global cooling
happens when water freezes into glaciers and sea levels decline, exposing some
areas of land. An area of land that was exposed includes the Bering Land Bridge,
which would have connected Siberia to modern day Alaska.. According to a video
called Ice Age Discoveries, New Evidence , the land bridge was approximately
1,000 miles wide, treeless, and grassy. Many animals were attracted to this new
land, some of which the humans were believed to have followed. On the other side
of this land bridge, however, a large glacier called the Laurentide Ice Sheet covered
Canada and the United States. At about the same time the humans finished crossing
the land bridge, the Laurentide Ice Sheet split, causing paths that led deeper into the
US. A source named Transparency from the textbook American History: Beginnings
to 1865 by Holt McDougall shows the paths the people would ve taken in the

Bonheur De Vivre And Demoiselles D Avignon
Matisse s, Bonheur de Vivre and Picasso s, Demoiselles d Avignon both compare
very favorable with Paul CГ©zanne s, The Large Bathers. As the question indicates
they are both inspired by Cezanne and yet transcend Cezanne. All of these paintings
contain some sort of nudity and are sexualized in some way by it, but in all of these
paintings the sensual nature does not define nor does it limit the painting. In fact I d
argue that they all share a common theme of transcending the artistic rules of their
time.
Cezanne s painting, The bathers depicts a large group of women bathers, and even
though we are asked to look at the finished product I really like to go back and see
the earlier versions of the painting and watch how Cezanne changed it ... Show more

While I think Matisse painting builds on the feel of Cezanne s work I think Pablo
s painting really takes Cezanne s concepts to a new level. I have always felt like all
of these paintings are saying something deeper than their imagery lets on but
Piccasso s, Demoiselles d Avignon really has something to get off it s chest.
Cezanne created a scene for us to look at and maybe understand while Picasso s
created a play for us to exist in and maybe understand later. From the limited colors
to the uses of hard angles this painting really does a great job of both mirroring and
transcending Cezanne
In conclusion it is clear that Cezanne was a master at his style and it s also clear
that his painting held a lure over both Picasso s and Matisse. Although I do feel as
though Pablo s painting captures more of the original than Matisse. Even with that
being said both of these artist elaborated on and arguable improved upon Cezanne s
concepts. While it s always tough comparing one work of art to another I think all
three artist would enjoy being compared to each
The Battle Of Hastings Essay
Why did William, Duke of Normandy, Win the Battle of Hastings?
In 1066 AD the King of England died without an heir. Three lords of different
countries then tried to secure the English throne for themselves. The first to do so
was Harold Godwineson. Harold was geographically the closest and therefore first
to take the throne. Harald Hardrada king of Norway then invaded England with the
intent of claiming the throne, but was repelled by Harold Godwineson s Anglo
Saxon soldiors. Next William, Duke of Normandy invaded England and defeated
Harold Godwineson at the Battle of Hastings. This essay is on why William won this
crucial battle.

Harold Godwineson then sent his men off to fight William s Norman.
This is one of the major reasons why William won the Battle of Hastings. William s
soldiers had been waiting and feasting across the English Channel so were well
prepared for the battle while Harold s men were tired, battle weary and many had
died during the battle with Harald Hardrada. Evidence of this is shown in the Bayeux
Tapestry showing William s soldiers feasting and preparing for the battle while they
waited for the wind to change.
During and before the battle there were also several crucial developments to help
William. Harold Godwineson forced his army to travel so fast that he left many
soldiers behind including most of his archers. During the battle Harold was killed by
an arrow in the eye. This significantly disheartened the Anglo Saxon soldiers. Harold
s death is depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry.
William also made many skilled tactical decisions that helped him win the battle.
Before the battle William had made sure he had a large variety of troops to fight
the Anglo Saxons. At the start of the battle William positioned his men well so they
could easily move about. When William s soldiers were unable to penetrate the
Anglo Saxon s shield wall he faked a retreat. The Anglo Saxons broke ranks and
chased after William s troops. The Norman army then turned around and were able to
kill the Anglo Saxons that had

Effects Of Social Media On Mental Health
Effects of social media on mental health Overview Social media is described, by
the Merriam Webster dictionary (2015), as forms of electronic communication (as
Web sites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create
online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other
content (as videos) . As few as 10 years ago the term social media was yet to be
coined, but within that decade the use of these blogs, websites and sharing
platforms has increased exponentially with no plateau in sight. From creating
Instagram accounts for household pets, to sharing Halloween themed baking
ideas over Pinterest, people today have access to social media outlets for almost
everything. Today about 74% of people ages 18 65 use some form of a social
networking site (Pew, 2014). Facebook takes the lead in social media usage with
about 71% of those adults. LinkedIn and Pinterest are tied for second at 28% of
users, 26% use Instagram, and Twitter falls last in the top 5 most used social
medias with 23% of users (Pew, 2014). In September of 2013 the Pew Research
Center measured that 90% of adults ages 18 29 used these social media outlets on a
daily basis, which is an astonishing increase from the 9% that was measured in
February 2005 (Pew, 2014). Due to the fact that young adults are increasingly
involving themselves in these online platforms, it is very important to understand the
long term and psychological effects (such as depression, social anxiety,

which is a fogging system. How does the system work?
The working principle of the fog cooling system can be summarized as this system
utilizes very high pressure water about 1000 psi or 70 pars which occurred from a
pump with high quality and delivery lines to create a very fine droplets size nearly
10 micron from specifically designed nozzles. Then, these fine droplets are quickly
evaporated and absorbed the heat found in the air. In order to offer an excellent
cooling; fog cooling systems use something called flash evaporation (Giacomelli,
2003). Fog Evaporative cooling

For better performance, cooling fans sometimes are added for the purpose of air
circulation in closed areas, where the expected temperature will differ based on the
climatic conditions, where cooling to 12В°C is possible under the best circumstances
(Yuwana et al., 2011). Evaporative Cooling
Fog evaporative cooling system is similar to the conventional misting system in
many aspects. But it works at a much higher pressure reached to (1000 2000 lb in
2; 7000 14000 kPa) and tiny nozzles with (1.2 gal hr 1; 4.5 L hr 1) volume. The tiny
droplets can evaporate more quickly and efficiently, the evaporation rate is
influenced also by the area of the surface, where the relation between them is
proportionally. High quality filtration and water systems are necessary for reducing
the clogging nozzles problem (Giacomelli, 2003).
The evaporative cooling system is usually consisted of two lengths of fog nozzles
(0.5 in; 1.3 cm) PVC pipe diameter. The nozzles may be made of high pressure,
stainless steel and it could produce a water droplets or fog with 0.2 mm diameter at
(1.3 ml s 1 ;1.2 gal hr 1) flow rate and (3450 kPa ;500 lb in 2) pressure. The
effectiveness of cooling is defined as the ratio of the reduction of the immediate
inner dry bulb air temperature to the depression of the inner wet bulb, before fogging,
is determined and calculated to 50% 70%. thus, if the
Prayer At Sporting Events Essay
Prayer in Sporting Events
The Government is too preoccupied with pleasing a select few by removing prayer
from sporting events than they are with running the country. This is a problem that
can be fixed and should be.
The reason for student led prayers at sporting events is for a God they believe in to
grant the safety of the players on the field and the fans going home. After all,
Christians are in the majority. It s a thirty second prayer that isn t going to hurt a

What s wrong with the world today? That we can t pray at a football game, but
cussing the ref. is okay? (Goodson) This country was founded by people who were
tired of the way their government was telling them how to worship God. And that
is exactly what is happening now. Our government doesn t want the atheists to get
offended so they hurt the majority of the people by going against our own God
and telling us not to pray for the safety of some people. The Bible tells us to pray
without cease. And why should we stop? The prayer is even asking for the safety
of the atheists. We don t say the prayer, Please God keep all the Christians safe from
injury. We pray for the safety of EVERYBODY.
If the government would be a little less involved in our religious beliefs or non
beliefs, we might have a balanced budget or less of a debt. The constitution grants us
the right to freedom of religion. We re not asking that atheists be converted
Christians. If they don t want to participate, they can go to the bathroom or put on
some headphones. As an ex atheist and recently converted Christian, a prayer never
offended me. They shouldn t be offended either.

Marijuana Dispensaries are a Quick Fix to an Economic
Crisis
Need a quick fix to the current economic crisis? How about opening thousands of
marijuana dispensaries, supplying tens of thousands of Americans with jobs, and
bringing in billions of tax dollars to the government. Is marijuana a threat to our
society and our youth? Or is it a plant, capable of easing the pain of the sick, inhibit
the growth of cancer cells, rejuvenating the weary, and bringing ease to our
stressful lives. The war on drugs has been a failure and it affects us all! The current
cost of the war on drugs is 51 billion dollars annually and not only has marijuana
use risen but it has become cheaper and easier to get. A recent survey conducted by
the Pew Research Center stated that 48% of adults in America have tried marijuana
and 40% had done so in the past three years. Legalizing marijuana would benefit the
country in many ways.
Opening dispensaries to legally sell the marijuana to customers would create
thousands of jobs to help with the current economic crisis. The dispensaries have to
hire people to help with the growing process and to sell the marijuana in the
dispensaries. Legalizing marijuana would also create jobs for the people who grow,
process and sell industrial hemp. It would create jobs at farms, manufacturing plants
and distribution shops. It creates a whole new industry, therefore creating jobs in
every part of the industry.
Legalizing marijuana will hurt major drug cartels. The office of National Drug
Policy has said that as much as

Introduction
It has been predicted that the world energy demand will experience a 2 3% annual
increase rate, accumulating to 50% in two decades [1]. It is expected that this
increase in demand more than compensate the contribution of alternative and
renewable energy sources to the total energy market [1 3]. In other words, traditional
hydrocarbon sources are believed to remain the dominant source of energy for the
foreseeable future. Considering the shrinking size of the available sources, meeting
this demands will be a major challenge in oil and gas industry.
In spite of the significant capital investments in the industry, meeting the increasing
global demand requires implementation of the emerging technologies in the oil and
gas industry. In other words, efficiency of the exploration and development of new
resources needs to be dramatically improved in the next two decades [4]. High risks
associated with adoption of innovative technologies has slowed down the rate of
research and development in oil industry [5]. A review of the role of research and
development in various sectors of technology reveals that upstream oil industry needs

Direct Conflict In Sea Turtle
Sea turtles live a life of conflict with humans and the biproducts of human
development and practices. At every stage in the life cycle of a sea turtle, there is
potential for fatal conflict with humans. Conflicts can be divided into those that are
direct or intentional, and those that are indirect, non intentional, or accidental.
Indirect conflicts are widespread and highly varying, while direct conflicts fall into
the categories of egg poaching and direct take. Humans cause increased mortality and
population declines of sea turtles through direct and indirect conflicts; these conflicts
can be reduced through various mitigation strategies.
There are seven extant species of sea turtles, six of which are listed as endangered
or critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and
all of which are included in CITES (IUCN, 2015), (CITES, 2017). Sea turtles lay

Direct take exists mainly through intentional poaching and harvesting. Nesting, and
therefore poaching, occurs on tropical sand beaches and islands (Guebert, Barletta, da
Costa, 2013). Sea turtles behave nocturnally by mostly nesting and hatching at night
(NOVA Southeastern University, 2017). As soon as the mother has deposited her
eggs in the sand, the first direct conflict is present. Sea turtle eggs are harvested and
eaten as a supposed aphrodisiac or to promote long life, despite the complete
absence of scientific backing to these claims. They are also eaten as a source of
protein, although chicken eggs are more nutritious than sea turtle eggs (Gulko
Eckert, 2004). Poachers harvest sea turtle eggs as soon as they are laid at night, and
eggs are placed in sacks and sold to wholesalers (Spotila,

  • 2. The State Of Virginia By Thomas Jefferson Thomas Jefferson created two facades when it came to racism and slavery. Thomas Jefferson had a personal history with slavery and owning a plantation, but in certain instances he appeared to support equality like in his letter to Benjamin Banneker. Different texts like Notes on the State of Virginia by Thomas Jeffersonwith the related documents edited by David Waldstreicher, and Banneker and Jefferson Letter Exchange are examples of the hypocrisy committed by Jefferson. This connects to modern day democracy because it shows how public leaders, past and present, often stand for ideas but do not live them out. Jefferson s political work and life, along with the other founding fathers will always influence modern day America. Jefferson s writings on scientific evidence and black inferiority have had an impact on modern day racism. Thomas Jefferson did a numerous amount of political work for our country. He is idolized as one of our country s founding fathers. He was one of the first to take part in American Democracy and signed the infamous Declaration of Independence Jefferson was a culture hero and always will be. When looking at different literary texts about Jefferson, or written by Jefferson himself it is hard to ignore his relationship with slavery. Notes on the State of Virginia by Jefferson and the related documents edited by David Waldstreicher show us a glimpse into his connection with slavery. Born into the Virginia Gentry, Thomas Jefferson would not at first
  • 3. Critical Study And Analysis Of Oral Care The purpose of this document is a critical study and analysis of the oral care provided by nursing staff as part of the Ventilator Care Bundle (VCB) and to assess whether the frequency of mouth care performed is related to the prevention of Ventilator Associated Pneumonia (VAP) in patients mechanically ventilated (Zilberberg et al. 2009). The following document is a case study written by an intensive care nurse, who will explore the oral care provided to a patient admitted in an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and will assess the overall care process. Additionally, the frequency, products used and techniques performed will be evaluated. In order to evaluate if mouth care and its frequency are Gold Standard interventions to prevent VAP... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ICU patients suffer from a broad range of pathologies, requiring MV, sedation and use of multiples devices, which do not allow patients to protect their airway (Augustyn. 2007; Kollef. 2004). Oral care aims to supply an adequate hygiene level, which leads to reduce colonisation of dental plaque and oropharynx and to reduce the aspiration of contaminated secretions into the lower airway (Feider et al. 2010). Research has demonstrated that colonisation of the airway and aspiration of colonised saliva are the two main pathogenic causes of VAP (Adib Hajbaghery et al. 2011). Other cause is the production of a biofilm along the endotracheal tube (ETT) which contains large quantities of microbes that could be spread into the lungs by ventilator induced breaths (Keyt et al. 2014; Palomar et al. 2010). Additionally, instilling saline into the ETT, suctioning secretions, repositioning the ETT or coughing, could dislodge the biofilm into the airway and increase the risk of VAP (Moore. 2003; Morehead and Pinto. 2002). According to Hunter (2012, p.40) VAP is a hospital acquired pneumonia that occurs 48 hours or more after tracheal intubation or acute tracheostomisation . VAP is one of the most common nosocomial infection responsible for one third of mortal respiratory infections in European ICUs (Adib Hajbaghery et al. 2011). Despite of its high incidence, identifying VAP infection requires a

Sure, what they found was extraordinary and they proved that octopuses are very different from other creatures, but you are not prepared for what is coming. https://youtu.be/r0lhgRz8IjY The team of scientists published their impressive study, for the purpose of which they used the California two spot octopus as their subject. Then, they combined forces with a group of researchers from the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology in Japan and, together, they discovered the octopus strange genetics that made it the first intelligent creature on planet Earth, when it developed half a billion ... However, the most amazing discovery was the ability of the octopus to improve on its own genetic code, which is common in humans and other animals, but octopuses can even edit their own RNA. Trying to adjust to any condition an octopus can adapt its nerves in order to fight the extremely low temperature of the ocean. Octopuses can also taste their food due to a function of their sucker, making them selective with their dinner. BUT WHAT IF THE OCTOPUS IS AN ALIEN? Those who believe that octopuses come from aliens, rely on the similarities that these creatures have with humans since all the above are independently developed in another species different from our own mammal origins, and it may seem strange, but we will get an answer soon. After all, this project has given the world many possibilities and the process of breaking down the genome has only just begun, keeping us in suspense for what is about to

Also, these chapters awaken many questions like Why didn t Clare stand up for herself? , Why didn t Clare come clean? , and If Clare wants to rejoin the community, would she leave John? . These questions start to arise in the beginning of part two, when John mentions that They always come back. I ve seen it happen time and time again. (pg. 55). This contributes to the idea that Clare might feel regret for passing permanently for so long, and leaves the reader wondering why she didn t come clean if she wants to rejoin the black community. The expansion of the British Empire in Africa began in 1880. In less than 40 years, it had control over 458 million people and 25% of the world s land. (1). After a long time of colonization, the British rule finally ended in 1981. Its rule ended because it could not maintain such a big Empire and Africans were fighting for their independence. It was the first time happened Britain to involvement in Africa especially in Egypt. Egypt was a member of the Turkish Empire in 1882. So, it was heart broking to national revolt that scared Britain. If you look back the purchase of the Suez Canal shares in 1875, the Britain financial, and their business was grown in that area. Therefore, Britain did not allow their investments in Egypt. Jeopardized, Egypt was route to India. As the result, they tried to protect the investment of Britain because they used to control Egypt all most 40 years before against the colonies of Gladstone. And also, Gladstone hoped that. As important that territorial control of Britain; Gladstone expanded the Britain, empire, and change from informal rule, and created jobs in North Africa. This was important to do and to protect economic interests of the empire. It was well secured the route to India. The growing into Sudan was compared to the Egypt because it was a chance. Long Pieces Research Paper Long Pieces Reflection The short pieces that I have chosen are Technology is in Control and Kidnapped by fate. These are both fictional stories that I have created and are both set in a very futuristic world. Technology is in Control is set in a dystopian society where a dictator controls a whole society with technology. While, Kidnapped by fate is similar by the fact that a dictator controls a group of people by trapping them in a car in a deserted town. I really enjoy writingpieces likes these that fall into dystopian and fictional categories. I have always had a creative mind and love the futuristic style where nothing has to make sense realistically. I think that these types of writings are definitely my go to when it comes to writing longer pieces because they are the funnest and easiest for me. Of the pieces that I have chosen I think my favorite is Kidnapped by Fate I really like the idea behind it and the mystery in it. When I was creating this I was watching a lot of Criminal Minds and this piece reminds me of something that would be on that show. Terrorism Is Very Real For Mnes Essay Sadly, terrorism permeates everyday society, and the intensifying impact of terrorism on international business is a global phenomenon with implications for both theory and practice. The research question addressed by this exploratory study is how international businesses apply past terrorism exposure and experience from operating in risky locations to create organizational preparedness and performance resilience to absorb and endure future terrorist attacks. This paper contributes to the international business literature by addressing a gap in the literature how firms can prepare for and respond to terrorism. The study contributes to a theory of organizational resilience by identifying antecedents and associated interactions. The paper contributes to practice by exploring the role of business continuity planning as a bridge between terrorism experience and performance resilience. • 16. The Arnolfini Portrait Symbolism One of the best Netherlandish Renaissance panel paintings is The Arnolfini Portrait, by Jan van Eyck. Painted in 1434 on 3 vertical oak panel boards. Its dimensions are 32.4 inches x 23.6 inches; panel 33.3 inches x 24.6 inches. It is on display at the National Gallery in London. It is a full length portrait believed to portray an Italian merchant, Giovanni di Nicolao Arnolfini and his wife. It was painted in 1434, but the wife in the picture died in 1433 Jan van Eyck applied thin layers of translucent glazes to intensify both colorand tone. The realism of this painting is achieved by intense colors, variations in shade and light, the look of three dimensional forms, almost perfect textures, and the use of direct and diffused light. This painting is of a richly dressed couple, in what might be a reception room, with a bed, chest, and blooming cherry tree outside. The deep symbolism of many objects found in this painting are reinforced using color, light, and many of the principals and elements of art. The use color holds a lot of meaning in this painting, and the use of color reveals very important symbolism itself. The values of hues were used to symbolize the vast wealth of the two subjects, from the rich tones of the room to their clothing, but they also mean more than that. The use of intense green on the woman represents that she was from a family of merchants or high business. Since the woman was deceased when this paining was done, her bright and rich blue and
  • 17. Property Crime And Property Crimes A crime occurs when someone breaks the law by an overt act, omission or neglect that can result in punishment. A person who has violated a law, or has breached a rule, is said to have committed a criminal offense. There are two main categories of crime: property crime and violent crime: PROPERTY CRIMES A property crime is committed when someone damages, destroys or steals someone else s property, such as stealing a car or vandalizing a building. Property crimes are by far the most commonly committed crime in the United States. VIOLENT CRIMES A violent crime occurs when someone harms, attempts to harm, threatens to harm or even conspires to harm someone else. Violent crimes are offenses which involve force or threat of force, such as rape, robbery or homicide. Some crimes can be both property crimes and violent at the same time, for example carjacking someone s vehicle at gunpoint or robbing a convenience store with a handgun. OMISSION CAN BE A CRIME But there are also crimes that are neither violent nor involve property damage. Running a stop sign is a crime, because it puts the public in danger, even though no one is injured and no property is damaged. If the law is not obeyed, there could be injury and damage. Some crimes can involve no action at all, but rather inaction. Withholding medication or neglecting someone who needs medical care or attention can be considered a crime. If you know someone who is abusing a child and you do not report it, under some

  • 23. Federalism Vs. Cooperative Federalism Federalism is a critically important concept in helping to understanding the American political system. The Founding Fathers of the United States had to answer important questions on how to handle power and responsibility between the states and national government. They did not want to have a situation where the federal governmenthad all the power. They had just fought a war against Britain because of that idea. However, they did not want each individual state doing essentially whatever they wanted. There are differences between dual federalismand cooperative federalism. However, it is important to fully address and understand what federalism is and why it was created. Federalism is a concept that refers to a system of government in which power is shared between the national and non national governments (Federalism, 2014). Dual federalism is a term used to describe a circumstance in which national and state governments are sovereign and equal within their constitutionally allocated spheres of authority (Federalism, 2014). Cooperative Federalism is a model of federalism in which all governments are linked and participate in the administration of programs. It is now referred to as New Federalism. Creative Federalism was a term used to describe the Great Society program of Lyndon Johnson (Federalism, 2014). President Johnson sought to devolve powers to the states using creative federalism. In his essay, Stuart Hall said decodings do not follow inevitably from encodings (Hall p.59), which means even though the media encodes information to an audience, each individual decodes the messagedifferently. This is called the individual interpretive moment where the decoder interpret messages in different ways depending on different variables like their cultural background, social behavior and experiences. Which means, the encoder does not rule the outcome. In case 3, the encoder would be the producer or the broadcaster, the medium would be the broadcast or television and the decoder would be the whomever is watching the game. • 28. Mother To Son By Langston Hughes Meaning There is no mystery in Mother to Son as to who is speaking to whom. In fact, the title of the poem alone provides all of the exposition needed to understand that this piece is set up as a mother s advice to her son. Presumably, this poem represents the advice that Langston Hughes may have received from his own mother. The imagery of a staircase opens up the work, which begins, Well, son, I ll tell you: / Life for me ain t been no crystal stair (Hughes 1 2). Line two, in particular, immediately conjures several associations in the mind of the reader. First, many audiences will be familiar with the concept of a stairway to heaven, as such a proverbial structure is mentioned often through world history in works such as the Bible and other... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s had tacks in it, / And splinters, / And boards torn up, / And places with no carpet on the floor / Bare (Hughes 3 7). Clearly, this woman s life has been difficult. More than that, by using imagery of tacks, splinters, and torn up boards, the mother is telling her son that at times her life has been outright dangerous. It is no mistake that Hughes chooses to use images of objects that can easily do physical harm. Lines three through seven confirm that the mother s life journey has been more than hard; indeed, it has been perilous. However, as the poem continues, mother tells son that she has always managed to advance in spite of the obstacles on her particular staircase. But all the time / I se been a climbin on, / And reachin landin s, / And turnin corners, / And sometimes goin in the dark / Where there ain t been no light (Hughes 8 13). During these lines, the tone of the poem slowly turns from hopeless to hopeful. True, the mother s life has been dangerous a fraught with obstacles, and yet she has thus far overcome each one of her challenges. The phrases, reachin landin s and turnin corners instill a sense of success in the mind of the reader, as both are common colloquial sayings that reflect a reprieve from hardship or a change for the better. Even through the darkness, still the mother climbs on. In other words, though she is at times unsure of her current position, she never loses sight of her
  • 29. Pros And Disadvantages Of Evolution Serious scientific publications disputing evolution are all but nonexistent. Most claims that deniers of the evolution manage to come up with are effortlessly refuted with the help of logic and common sense. Even if their objections are flimsy, the sheer number and diversity of the claims challenging the ideas of evolution can put even well informed people at a disadvantage. One of the strongest arguments providing grounds for doubting evolution is so called irreducible complexitywhich says that living things have tremendously complex features at the anatomical, cellular and molecular levels that could not function if they were any less intricate or sophisticated. This argument may be considered quite strong because even Charles Darwin wrote in chapter 6 of his famous work On the Origin of Species : If it could be dРµmonstrated that any complex organ existed, which could not possibly have been formed by numerous, successive, slight modifications, my theory would absolutely break down. [5] Indeed, many people find it difficult to imagine how from two elementary notions random mutation, and the filtering power of the environment have emerged, over millennia, such marvels as eyes, the wings of birds and the human brain. According to Michael Behe, researcher of biochemistry and professor at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, evolution simply cannot produce complex structures in a single generation as would be required for the formation of irreducibly complex

We are social beings, and being connected is shown to make you healthier, make you happier, and is also critical to being a human. Confronting bias is also another theme that comes into play in the process of digital storytelling. Whether that bias is towards peoples of other faiths, colors, orientations, or other qualities, it is important to remember that the connection that was previously mentioned applies to everybody. The connection between all humans should more readily accepted. This can be done by creating conversation to create understanding between peoples. Kwame Appiah (2007) agrees that bias can be solved with conversation saying: It begins with the simple idea that in the human community, as in national communities, we need to develop habits of coexistence: conversation in its older meaning, of living together, association (Appiah, XIX). Development of better relations between humans with conversation and understanding is pivotal in starting to eliminate some of the bias we have. Digital storytelling brings this along in some stories with the authors using their voice to try to create social change and start conversations within our communities. Digital stories have a positive effect when used to gather people together. It allows

This theory explains the travel route of the first Americans with factual support. The Beringia Theory is the oldest theory of the four. Harold Godwineson then sent his men off to fight William s Norman. This is one of the major reasons why William won the Battle of Hastings. William s soldiers had been waiting and feasting across the English Channel so were well prepared for the battle while Harold s men were tired, battle weary and many had died during the battle with Harald Hardrada. Evidence of this is shown in the Bayeux Tapestry showing William s soldiers feasting and preparing for the battle while they waited for the wind to change. During and before the battle there were also several crucial developments to help William. Harold Godwineson forced his army to travel so fast that he left many soldiers behind including most of his archers. During the battle Harold was killed by an arrow in the eye. This significantly disheartened the Anglo Saxon soldiers. Harold s death is depicted in the Bayeux Tapestry. William also made many skilled tactical decisions that helped him win the battle. Before the battle William had made sure he had a large variety of troops to fight the Anglo Saxons. At the start of the battle William positioned his men well so they could easily move about. When William s soldiers were unable to penetrate the Anglo Saxon s shield wall he faked a retreat. The Anglo Saxons broke ranks and chased after William s troops. The Norman army then turned around and were able to kill the Anglo Saxons that had

  • 49. Effects Of Social Media On Mental Health Effects of social media on mental health Overview Social media is described, by the Merriam Webster dictionary (2015), as forms of electronic communication (as Web sites for social networking and microblogging) through which users create online communities to share information, ideas, personal messages, and other content (as videos) . As few as 10 years ago the term social media was yet to be coined, but within that decade the use of these blogs, websites and sharing platforms has increased exponentially with no plateau in sight. From creating Instagram accounts for household pets, to sharing Halloween themed baking ideas over Pinterest, people today have access to social media outlets for almost everything. Today about 74% of people ages 18 65 use some form of a social networking site (Pew, 2014). Facebook takes the lead in social media usage with about 71% of those adults. LinkedIn and Pinterest are tied for second at 28% of users, 26% use Instagram, and Twitter falls last in the top 5 most used social medias with 23% of users (Pew, 2014). In September of 2013 the Pew Research Center measured that 90% of adults ages 18 29 used these social media outlets on a daily basis, which is an astonishing increase from the 9% that was measured in February 2005 (Pew, 2014). Due to the fact that young adults are increasingly involving themselves in these online platforms, it is very important to understand the long term and psychological effects (such as depression, social anxiety,

How does the system work? The working principle of the fog cooling system can be summarized as this system utilizes very high pressure water about 1000 psi or 70 pars which occurred from a pump with high quality and delivery lines to create a very fine droplets size nearly 10 micron from specifically designed nozzles. Then, these fine droplets are quickly evaporated and absorbed the heat found in the air. In order to offer an excellent cooling; fog cooling systems use something called flash evaporation (Giacomelli, 2003). Fog Evaporative cooling According to Al Amri, (2000) evaporative cooling is the chill that the person... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For better performance, cooling fans sometimes are added for the purpose of air circulation in closed areas, where the expected temperature will differ based on the climatic conditions, where cooling to 12В°C is possible under the best circumstances (Yuwana et al., 2011). Evaporative Cooling Fog evaporative cooling system is similar to the conventional misting system in many aspects. But it works at a much higher pressure reached to (1000 2000 lb in 2; 7000 14000 kPa) and tiny nozzles with (1.2 gal hr 1; 4.5 L hr 1) volume. The tiny droplets can evaporate more quickly and efficiently, the evaporation rate is influenced also by the area of the surface, where the relation between them is proportionally. High quality filtration and water systems are necessary for reducing the clogging nozzles problem (Giacomelli, 2003). The evaporative cooling system is usually consisted of two lengths of fog nozzles (0.5 in; 1.3 cm) PVC pipe diameter. The nozzles may be made of high pressure, stainless steel and it could produce a water droplets or fog with 0.2 mm diameter at (1.3 ml s 1 ;1.2 gal hr 1) flow rate and (3450 kPa ;500 lb in 2) pressure. The effectiveness of cooling is defined as the ratio of the reduction of the immediate inner dry bulb air temperature to the depression of the inner wet bulb, before fogging, is determined and calculated to 50% 70%. thus, if the

Prayer At Sporting Events Essay Prayer in Sporting Events The Government is too preoccupied with pleasing a select few by removing prayer from sporting events than they are with running the country. This is a problem that can be fixed and should be. The reason for student led prayers at sporting events is for a God they believe in to grant the safety of the players on the field and the fans going home. After all, Christians are in the majority. It s a thirty second prayer that isn t going to hurt a single person. (Goodson) This country was founded by people who were tired of the way their government was telling them how to worship God. And that is exactly what is happening now. Our government doesn t want the atheists to get offended so they hurt the majority of the people by going against our own God and telling us not to pray for the safety of some people. The Bible tells us to pray without cease. And why should we stop? The prayer is even asking for the safety of the atheists. We don t say the prayer, Please God keep all the Christians safe from injury. We pray for the safety of EVERYBODY. If the government would be a little less involved in our religious beliefs or non beliefs, we might have a balanced budget or less of a debt. The constitution grants us the right to freedom of religion. We re not asking that atheists be converted Christians. If they don t want to participate, they can go to the bathroom or put on some headphones. As an ex atheist and recently converted Christian, a prayer never offended me. They shouldn t be offended either. Prayer in Sporting Events 1. Times Record News. Nick Gholson, Wichita Falls High School 2. Texas Coach, The Prayer of a Christian Teen . February

How about opening thousands of marijuana dispensaries, supplying tens of thousands of Americans with jobs, and bringing in billions of tax dollars to the government. Is marijuana a threat to our society and our youth? Or is it a plant, capable of easing the pain of the sick, inhibit the growth of cancer cells, rejuvenating the weary, and bringing ease to our stressful lives. The war on drugs has been a failure and it affects us all! The current cost of the war on drugs is 51 billion dollars annually and not only has marijuana use risen but it has become cheaper and easier to get. A recent survey conducted by the Pew Research Center stated that 48% of adults in America have tried marijuana and 40% had done so in the past three years. Legalizing marijuana would benefit the country in many ways. Opening dispensaries to legally sell the marijuana to customers would create thousands of jobs to help with the current economic crisis. The dispensaries have to hire people to help with the growing process and to sell the marijuana in the dispensaries. Legalizing marijuana would also create jobs for the people who grow, process and sell industrial hemp. It would create jobs at farms, manufacturing plants and distribution shops. It creates a whole new industry, therefore creating jobs in every part of the industry. Legalizing marijuana will hurt major drug cartels. The office of National Drug Policy has said that as much as

Finally, using a decision making software, a dynamic analytic hierarchical process analysis was performed, providing a route to customized investment policies. Introduction It has been predicted that the world energy demand will experience a 2 3% annual increase rate, accumulating to 50% in two decades [1]. It is expected that this increase in demand more than compensate the contribution of alternative and renewable energy sources to the total energy market [1 3]. In other words, traditional hydrocarbon sources are believed to remain the dominant source of energy for the foreseeable future. Considering the shrinking size of the available sources, meeting this demands will be a major challenge in oil and gas industry. In spite of the significant capital investments in the industry, meeting the increasing global demand requires implementation of the emerging technologies in the oil and gas industry. In other words, efficiency of the exploration and development of new resources needs to be dramatically improved in the next two decades [4]. High risks associated with adoption of innovative technologies has slowed down the rate of research and development in oil industry [5]. A review of the role of research and development in various sectors of technology reveals that upstream oil industry needs a higher
  • 54. Direct Conflict In Sea Turtle Sea turtles live a life of conflict with humans and the biproducts of human development and practices. At every stage in the life cycle of a sea turtle, there is potential for fatal conflict with humans. Conflicts can be divided into those that are direct or intentional, and those that are indirect, non intentional, or accidental. Indirect conflicts are widespread and highly varying, while direct conflicts fall into the categories of egg poaching and direct take. Humans cause increased mortality and population declines of sea turtles through direct and indirect conflicts; these conflicts can be reduced through various mitigation strategies. There are seven extant species of sea turtles, six of which are listed as endangered or critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, and all of which are included in CITES (IUCN, 2015), (CITES, 2017). Sea turtles lay large clutches of eggs as an evolutionary strategy to compensate low natural survival rates. Populations depend on the survival of individuals once they reach ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Direct take exists mainly through intentional poaching and harvesting. Nesting, and therefore poaching, occurs on tropical sand beaches and islands (Guebert, Barletta, da Costa, 2013). Sea turtles behave nocturnally by mostly nesting and hatching at night (NOVA Southeastern University, 2017). As soon as the mother has deposited her eggs in the sand, the first direct conflict is present. Sea turtle eggs are harvested and eaten as a supposed aphrodisiac or to promote long life, despite the complete absence of scientific backing to these claims. They are also eaten as a source of protein, although chicken eggs are more nutritious than sea turtle eggs (Gulko Eckert, 2004). Poachers harvest sea turtle eggs as soon as they are laid at night, and eggs are placed in sacks and sold to wholesalers (Spotila,
