Essay On The Catcher In The Rye
Crafting an essay on "The Catcher in the Rye" can be both challenging and rewarding. J.D.
Salinger's novel is rich in symbolism, themes, and nuanced characterizations, making it a fertile
ground for analysis. However, the difficulty lies in striking a balance between exploring the
intricacies of the narrative and presenting a cohesive and well-structured argument.
One of the challenges is deciphering Holden Caulfield's complex character. His narrative voice is
distinctive, filled with colloquialisms and a unique perspective on the world. Capturing and
interpreting his voice accurately requires a deep understanding of the character and an ability to
articulate the psychological nuances that define him.
Moreover, "The Catcher in the Rye" delves into themes such as alienation, adolescence, and the
loss of innocence. Analyzing these themes necessitates a careful examination of the text, drawing
connections between various events and characters. Developing a thesis that encapsulates these
themes and supporting it with relevant evidence from the novel demands analytical prowess.
Additionally, exploring the symbolism embedded in the narrative, such as the red hunting hat or
the Museum of Natural History, requires a keen eye for detail. These symbols serve as windows
into Holden's psyche, and deciphering their significance contributes to a more profound
understanding of the novel.
Structuring the essay poses another challenge. Balancing the exploration of different aspects of
the novel without losing focus is crucial. Each paragraph should contribute to the overall
argument, creating a cohesive and compelling narrative that engages the reader.
In conclusion, writing an essay on "The Catcher in the Rye" demands not only literary analysis
skills but also an ability to navigate the complexities of Holden Caulfield's character and the
novel's themes. It's a task that requires careful thought, research, and a mastery of written
expression.

CHAPTER 2 : LITERATURE REVIEW 2.0 INTRODUCTION Today with drastic
changes in communication technologies based on computer and internet, people
more often communicate via emails. However, traditional email protocol is insecure
because the message that has been transmitted is in plain text. Someone can
intercepts copy or even alter the emails. Individual privacies such as personal
/commercial secrets, bank transaction and even the countries intelligence information
that send through email are more vulnerable to be hacked. Therefore, the security of
emails has raised the attention of community. The primary explanations behind the
Email communication not utilizing encryption is that the current Email encryption
results require monotonous operations and hard key administrations. In this way,
research about on basic, very secured also effective Email content protection

America is considered as a global superpower, and has a critical role to play in the
global socioeconomic and political landscape. Critical examination of US
presidential elections show that they draw widespread attention from across the
globe. In many instances, the major political parties differ significantly on policies, a
prospect that may work to the advantage or the disadvantage of the candidate for

3). Trump further pointed out that large fractions of the US annual budgets are set
aside to finance the international economic obligations of the country. As such, the
Republicans pointed out that cutting such parts of the budget would help to boost the
American economy and to reduce budget deficits.
Further, the sect outlined that the allies of America will have to pay if the country is
to offer military assistance and other services. Through this strategic approach, the
republicans equally believed that returning American troops home and abandoning
international missions would help save revenues that, in their view, are wasted on
programs that do not directly benefit the American people. Ideally, the Republicans
exhibited belief that continued involvement of America in international aids and
assistive missions would affect the economy negatively, and would make America
vulnerable in the global market (Smith 3). On debt, Donald Trump recounted his
experience as a business mogul to be a value that will help him overcome the
economic barriers and ensure that the country does not accumulate debts.
Another fundamental subject that was explored in the Republican convention was
trade between America and the international community. The Republican Party noted
that America was getting raw deals in many instances. They cited the case of trade
between America and china in which the

The religion of Islam is a religion with deep roots that have now expanded out from
the Middle East and touch all corners of the world. While there is no doubt that
Islam s oldest roots lie in the birthplace of the religion, the Arabian Peninsula, the
religion s culture, customs, and laws have been carried out from here and impact
millions worldwide. However, with the spread of Islaminto the world comes the
spread of the world into Islam. Meaning that as Islam s roots grow far and wide it

The first scholar, Subhi Mahmasani was from Lebanon where he held many
prestigious titles in the political sphere such as: a member of the Lebanese
Parliament, president of the Appeals Court, minister of Economy, as well as teaching
at the American University in Beirut and the Lebanese University (LI, 145). The
article published by Mahmasani in Liberal Islam is entitled Adaptation of Islamic
Jurisprudence to Modern Social Need. Mahmasani begins by explaining that the
concept of Islamic jurisprudence dealt with questions of religions, worship and legal
transactions thus explaining that the ulama (scholars) and jurists had to be
knowledge in all departments of knowledge (LI, 145). This knowledge comes from a
variety of sources such as the Qu ran and the Sunna as well as through customs,
geography, and the search for the inner ijtihad (endeavor or interpretation).
Mahmasani s claims that after Sunni jurists agreed to close the door to ijtihad,
because of the fall of Baghdad in the seventh century, Islamic thought met a dead end.
Mahmasani explains that the door of ijtihad should be thrown wide open for anyone
juristically qualified...what is right is to allow freedom of interpretation of Islamic
jurisprudence and to liberate thought (LI 146). More so, he later goes on to explain
that the Sunna is a contradiction because the prophet
The House Of Seven Gables
The novel The House of Seven Gables conveys its messages through the usage of
images, which is done through inanimate object or places. This can be seen in the
house of the seven gables and the daguerreotype of judge Pyncheon. Hawthorne
present these images in such a manner, that their original meaning in the novel is
no longer applicable. While many see his writing style as a tedious form, such
writing has made the images created by Nathanial Hawthorne. Nathanial
Hawthorne may be seen as a writer with a tedious writing style, such as the long
descriptions of the images in the novel. Nevertheless it s an effective manner to use
allegory in a novel. The house of the seven gables initially gave the feeling that it
represents the legacy of the Pyncheons and their corrupted quest for glory. But
Hawthorne visual description of the house of seven gables distorts this manning.
Hawthorne visual description presents it as a living being, which can be said to be a
Pyncheon itself, The aspect of the venerable mansion has always affected me like a
human countenance . . . expressive of the long lapse of mortal life. (Pg. 44). One gets
the impression of human and object comparison when Hawthorne uses the words
human countenance , which signifies human facial features, which presents a
venerable image. Such imagery description of the house of seven gables intensifies
the image of the house to the reader, since one does not associate a house with facial
features. Another important

The Modence And Music Of Cuban Music
ВЎQuГ© rico bailo yo! which translates to How well I dance! is the epitome of the
confidence and spirit of Cuban music . In order for a person to understand the rhythm
and beat of Cuban music, one must first understand Cuban s history.
In the 16th century, Cuba was colonized by the Spanish in order to grow sugar and
tobacco for the mother country, Spain. At first, the Spanish used the native people to
grow the cash crops but the natives could not withstand the harsh working conditions
and soon died out, thus the importation of African slaves began.
Cuba s slaves came primarily from West Africa from the countries of Nigeria, Ghana,
Togo, Congo, Benin and Cameroon . During the time spent in captivity, African
slaves were not restricted from practicing their own religion called Santeria. The
Roman Catholic Church chose not to ban Santeria because of its connection to the
local culture and its pairing with Roman Catholic saints . The followers of Santeria
identify themselves with their own deity who are praised through their own specific
call and response through the use of toques, drum patterns and chants . It is because
of this complex rhythm and beat that the music of Cuba is often cited as a prime
example of cultural creolization, a fusion culture of people, language and most
importantly, music .
Son is an example of Cuban music that has been Culturally Creolized because ...

Introduction to video and clarification of the applied theoretical perspective.
The video of School girl attacks identifies an attack on school girls in Kandahar,
Afghanistan. Zahira, who is a 13 year old, is interviewed by NBC told her story
about the attack. Zahira, who always showed excitement about attending school, lost
her joy after the attack on her and five other girls. The attack took place during the

Dysfunctions, not part of a society that contributes to its stability all the time. This
is an element or process of a society that may disrupt the social system or reduces
stability. There have been hundreds of school related attacks in Afghanistan over
the past year alone but nothing like this, (NBC News, 2011). This has caused a
disruption in their society. This disruption created the need for the military
presence for security. How a person evaluates a dysfunction depends on your point
of view. Like the guards in prison have come to view the gangs as part of the
functional part of their jobs, (G. Scott 2001). The danger the Taliban possess and
the attacks on the girls created the same dysfunctional view as the guards and a need
for security from the Military. The military presence is based on the danger that
exist, without the attacks from the enemy there would not be a need for the military,
no jobs for the soldiers, and the training the soldier provided for Afghan police would
not exist.
Specific examples from the video from the viewpoint of the designated theoretical
approach. Functionalist s theoretical approach emphasizes the contribution it makes
to social stability in Afghanistan. According to NBC News, Zahira always looked
forward attending school until one morning last month walking to the school in
Kandahar with her older cousin, Chauncy. Just outside the school

Physical education has yet to become an established and important feature in
Australian and English school programs. At one level physical education has enjoyed
considerable political support, acquired support from athletes and secured a place on
Australia and England s national curriculum. However on another level physical
educationhas been the subject of crisis meetings in Australia, on the verge of being
wiped out in later secondary schooleducation in England and had numerous reviews.
So why is physical educationimportant? The major factor being the increasing rise
in obesity, but also children appear to have less knowledge of physical skill, lack
fitness and are very inactive is a few reasons why physical education needs remain in

Time Allocation in Australia
Physical Education (PE) has been compulsory in the Australian national
curriculum since 1946. Its purpose and name has changed on several occasions,
starting off as PE, then changing to Sport Education, to Health, and now Health
and Physical Education (HPE). Australia s curriculum is organized into states like
the American curriculum and each state is responsible for its policy and operation
of PE. However the Australian government have stated that children from ages 5
18 while at school must undertake some compulsory PE. It is considered that
children should undertake overall 200 minutes of physical education, 100 minutes
of active sport and 100 minutes of PE in secondary school. However this has seen
not to be the case as the ACHPER Fitness survey of 1987 found that in the schools
surveyed an average of 116 minutes a week was being allocated to PE. Researchers
believe a minimum of 3 lessons of skill learning each 45 minutes long and 3 fitness
sessions a week each 30 minutes should be allocated to HPE, and this being the
absolute minimum (htpp://web.ceo.adl.catholic.ed.au cited 10/01/2005). However

Executive Power In The United States
In the United States, there are three branches to help with laws: legislative,
executive, and judicial. Legislative power makes laws, executive enforces it, and
judicial interprets the law or gives the law a meaning. The legislative power checks
the executive power, which carries out the law, by approving treaties and
presidential appointments (pg. 68). Also by creating agencies, programs, and they
may remove the president through impeachment (pg. 68). It makes sure there are
appropriate funds to carry out the laws that are made (pg. 68). The legislative
power checks with the judicial power, which interprets the law, by creating lower
courts, approving or rejecting appointments of the judges; they may remove a
judge through impeachment (pg. 68). In the legislative branch there is a Speaker
of the House, The Senate President Pro Tempore, majority and minority leaders,
and Party Whips. The Speaker of the House is one of the most important and most
powerful positions within the halls of congress. The Speaker is both elected
presiding officer and the acknowledged leader of its majority party. They are
supposed to keep things in order. By doing this, no man or woman who is a member

Siegfried Sassoon s Glory Of Women
In 1917, Siegfried Sassoon composed the sonnet Glory of Women during the first
World War, an important piece of twentieth century modernist poetry. In this poem,
the role as much as the attitude of women during the Great War is criticised. This
essay argues that Sassoon s opinion on war and the participation of women conveyed
in his Sonnet is influenced by his own experiences, also by referring to his biography
as much as to historical research on World War One. First of all, one has to analyse
the poem with regards to form and content. The Sonnet holds the Iambic Pentametre,
written in lines of ten syllables with emphasis on the second, fourth, sixth, eighth, and
tenth. (n.d. 1 2). It is starting with an alternate rhyme (ABAB), having... Show more

Siegfried discovered his homosexual tendencies early, like Max Egremont explains in
his work: The person whom Sassoon loved inside the house was a man: Stephen
Tennant. (10) In this context, his social environment radicalised Siegfried s opinion
of women. For example, during his studies at Cambridge University, he got into
contact with the poet Edward Carpenter who thought that homosexuals had greater
imaginative freedom than heterosexuals (46). Having felt different and abnormal,
Siegfried s attitude changed: What ideas I had about homosexuality were absolutely
unprejudiced. (46), maybe this gave him the feeling of being superior to
The Perfect Golf Swing
The Perfect Golf Swing
As a young caddie running up and down the course, I saw my uncle slamming the
ground with a golf club. I always found him so angry, playing the game of golf. I
stopped running and watched him play; I studied his body as he elegantly swung the
club through the air. Sweat dripping from his nose, his shirt soaked completely
through. I watched him for hours that day, and I would watch him over and over
again, trying to find that perfect swing. The perfect golf swing is said to be
unattainable to many in the golfing world. I spent my childhood on a golf course

It is not as easy as it may look; there are a few tips to remember. The key to turning
over your hands is to return them to the beginning position when impact with the
ball occurs. The motion of turning your hands over is what keeps the ball straight
and aimed at the target. All that is remaining is to watch the ball and hit it as hard
as possible. If this is done properly, the golfer can hit the ball as hard as he wants.
After the hit the clubhead should end up behind the golfers head. The golfer
should find himself facing the target, with his left foot planted on the ground and
his right toe is the only part touching the ground. When all of these steps are done
correctly, the golf swing is a beautiful sight. With so many professionals on TV, it
is easier to see what the swing should look like. There are many great players to
watch now such as Phil Mickelson, Davis Love, and let s not forget the most
popular player Tiger Woods. All of these players have what it takes to make the
perfect golf swing. At this time my uncle is sixty years old and his body just does
not have what it takes to practice the way he did when I was young. My uncle
spends most of the day working at a country club, when he gets the chance he will
spend some time with me, instructing me on my golf swing and watching me hit
balls and correcting my faults. I find myself being the man he used to be cursing the
game of golf and slamming the golf
The West The Land Of The Unknown But Promising Future
The West the land of the unknown but promising future. That s what many
Americans living in the east see it has and also black Americans. Once the
Transcontinental road was complete that spread to the west and federal government
lend out the land the race to the west began. There would be 3 things that would
define western economic change.
The California Gold rush of 1849 start the first big boom for the west. It extract so
many people of different backgrounds to come and tried to find gold. Soon after
there were other places in the west were gold and silver was found. This led to the
start of the mining business which boom from the 1860s to 1890s. Gold and Silver
were found areas such as Denver, Nevada, And the Dakota area. When people heard
about these finding thousands upon thousands flock to the towns turning regular
mining camps into cities. Many of these miners were irresponsible with their money
and didn t think long term. They would just spend their money on beers and
prostitutes. The smart miners would save their money to buy better equipment and
place to live to keep thriving in the industry. They would eventually start buying up
mines and become rich from the business to were they longer had to mine. Once
mine was flat out and no more resource was available the town died off. People who
didn t save their money were left broke and working under terrible conditions.
Working the mining industry was very danger and remains one of the most dangerous
jobs in the United
Skok Freedom Speech
Dwight D. Eisenhower once said, Every step we take towards making the State our
Caretaker of our lives, by that much we move toward making the State our Master.
The First Amendment to the Unites States Constitution has been under much
scrutiny and had much heat of late. Returning to its pure roots, National Socialist
Party of America v. Village of Skokie describes how the U. S. Government must
allow freedom speech, even if it is evil, to protect the democracy. When the National
Socialist Party of America (NSPA), a professed Nazi group, applied for a permit to
demonstrate in the highly Jewish city of Skokie, the town refused to grant the permit.
NSPA took their case to the county court which granted them the ability to peacefully
protest... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This case points back to the purpose of government. Dwight D. Eisenhower as did
many Unites States presidents, stated countless times that a democracy can only
stand with virtuous people as its citizens. If evil people fill the country, only a
dictatorship can bring order. This case demonstrates that America is built upon
allowing the free speech of controversial and opposing views. Limiting the rights of
the NSPA would pave the way for other types of speech to be limited. My initial
view was of course that anyone promoting Nazis views should not be allowed to
march, especially considering the town s Jewish population. After further
consideration, I realized that if the government has the ability to restrict Nazis
protests, they have the ability to silence me if I am trying to share my faith with a
Nazi and it offends them. If we give this power of limiting free speech to the
government, they will basically be able to limit it however they so choose. If we
allow the government to specifically certain types of speech, that power will
invariably grow and power that is once tasted is not given back. We would most
definitely loose freedom in other areas of speech. The speech, though I m sure it
caused emotional distress, did not physically harm the citizens of the town. I do think
that the banning of the swastika was appropriate. At popularly agreed times, it is not
appropriate to demonstrate with the Confederate Flag or other symbols that can

The Use of Recombinant Bovine Somatotropin Injection
The use of recombinant bovine somatotropin in the dairy industry has been widely
used since its approval by the Food and Drug Administration in 1994. Recombinant
bovine somatotropin injection increases milk yield in dairy cows by decreasing the
drastic drop in milk production that occurs after peak lactation. Recombinant bovine
somatotropinalso stimulates the production insulin like growth factor 1, which, in
turn, stimulates the mammary glands contributing to the increased milk yield (Van
Den Berg, 1989). Recombinant bovine somatotropin is important to agriculture
because it has greatly helped the dairy industry. It has been shown to improve
calving intervals between pregnancies, improve healthy by lowering the incidence of
metabolic diseases after gestation, which leads to lower veterinary costs, and overall
improve herd life, animal well being, and profitability.
Somatotropin, also known as growth hormone, is a protein hormone produced by the
anterior pituitary gland at the base of the brain. It was discovered in the 1930 s when
rats injected with anterior pituitary extract exhibited increased growth and more
weight gain compared to non treated rats (Schaffer and Lee, 1935). In the 1950 s, it
was found that some cases of dwarfism in humans were due to inadequate pituitary
production of somatotropin. Studies were conducted using patients with dwarfism to
test if bovine somatotropin would increase growth. However, results demonstrated
that bovine somatotropin was not
The Theme Of Murder In Macbeth
Shakespearean Murder Blood, death, and violence; these are just a few words that
go along with a way of death known as murder. It s one of the more common ways
of dying and is frequently seen on the news and social media. As such, people always
seems to take an interest in this topic. There s a mysterious attraction to the subject of
murder, whether in a mystery book, on television shows, or simply mentioned in a
news article. What makes a death murder, though? Murder, as defined by Oxford
Dictionaries, is the unlawful premeditated killing of one human being by another.
Many simply define it as taking someone else s life. In Macbeth, William
Shakespeare illustrates the many forms of murder and establishes how it is wrong.
One of the more interesting parts of this way of death is the motive, or reason,
people choose to murder one another. The actual interest itself lies in the main four
reasons for murder; to gain power, exact revenge, dispose of any opposition or
witnesses, and sometimes for sheer pleasure. In Macbeth, Shakespeare clearly
illustrates... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are many ways to kill people, whether intentional or accidental. In Macbeth,
Shakespeare showed a couple ways by having Macbeth kill King Duncan with a
dagger in Scene II, line V, I have done the deed. Didst thou hear a noise? (Act II,
Scene II, Line 14) and the others he executed or had murdered by murderers like
Macduff s family, He has killed me mother. Run away, I pray you! (Act IV, Scene
II, Line 80). Many other ways can be shown in the real world. Such as killing
people by poisoning, drowning, suffocation, and assisted suicide. These are
typically used by real life people though commonly used by rapist, serial killers,
murders, and the mentally insane. Although you can use other ways to murder
people, for some it is a matter of pleasure or even just the idea they aren t personally
strong enough to kill
Manager Is A For A Manager
Manager
A manager is a person whose job it is to command one or more members, to assure
that they do their duties. A manager s role is to actually manage people to do
multiple things. Most importantly, the main point of a manager is to make a
group better. According to the article of What is a Manager, A manager is often
called upon to act as the outward face of the people he or she supervises. It is often
the case that leaders need to drum up support for their team s work, often by
building connections with outsiders. This sometimes comes in the form of

Hospital Housekeeping Care of the Jewish hospital of Philadelphia is discussed. The
quality of housekeeping lies in the hands of the executive housekeeper, Mrs. Ethel

moral among the housekeeping staff has deteriorated. This is because Mrs.
Greenburg and Mr. Iglesiada do not have a solid relationship when collaborating and
managing together. They have different approaches on how to provide quality care

Social And Cultural Contributions Of Migrations And...
Social and cultural elements of opinions towards migrants and relations between
locals and foreigners are not always easy. In many countries around the world,
migrants and migration are constantly being debated. However, there have been
societies like the Nomadic Turks who helped developed civilizations. The modern
world needs to learn how to resolve the issues of migration from these nomadic
cultures. Between 1000 and 1500 CE, the fast movement of human interaction led to
the rapid movements of technology and other advancements that drives our history.
Multicultural associations were established and unite the societies of Europeand Asia.
The migration of the clans and tribes of the Turkish peoples has fundamental
significance as they settled in other societies and learned new cultures. Modern
globalization has inspired a rise in migration both near and far, reinforced by many
influences. These ancient places are linked our modern successes and problems that
have occurred and are occurring today as history tends to repeat itself. Most of us
would agree that civilization started in the ancient area of Mesopotamia. Nomadic
Turks became noticeable in the history of Eurasia between the eleventh and the
fifteenth centuries. The Turks are ethnolinguistic groups of Central, Eastern, Northern
and Western Asia as well as parts of Europe and North Africa. They share a variety of
certain cultural traits, common ancestry and historical backgrounds to Mongolia and
East Central Asia.
The Little Things
When you re not paying close attention to all of the good things that can happen to
you throughout the day, you don t really notice how many small things there are that
can have a positive effect. Small things on their own aren t much, but when you start
to add them up they can become something huge. For instance, playing fetch with
my Labrador Buddy, or giving in to that craving of chocolate and enjoying every
bite are very small things in the grand scheme of things, but take either out of my
life and it would be a tragedy. Every once in a while something happens that is
clearly a big good thing, but they don t happen often enough to really get you through
that daily grind. For instance, my mom recently celebrated her 70th birthday... Show

These are things that are small on the surface, but if they went away they would be
pretty big. If suddenly you have a health scare and are hanging on to your life,
something like having a good meal would seem pretty huge. If somebody you
loved were to die, suddenly those hugs that you used to share with them every day
would linger over you and the lack of their presence would be one of the saddest
things in your life. The small things are really the big things because they reflect
what truly matters to you. I have a very busy life and not everyday do I think about
and appreciate having a simple phone conversation with a friend, getting a much
needed hug from my boyfriend, or even just spending time with my niece, but these
are the things that would feel crippling if they went away. By doing this experiment I
learned that people generally focus too much on the negative things in the world and
end up making themselves feel like victims. And they don t pay enough attention to
the little things in the world that add up to make for a life that s worth living. People
love to recall all of the bad things that happen to them throughout the day, but really
things don t happen to people, things just happen. There are probably an equal
amount of good things and bad things, so the trick to getting through life and making
yourself happy is to control how you respond to the world. If you focus on the bad and
Transportation In The First Half Of The 19th Century Essay
During the first half of the
19th century, improvements in transportation developed
rather quickly. Roads, steamboats, canals, and railroads all
had a positive effect on the American economy. They also
provided for a more diverse United States by allowing more
products to be sold in new areas of the country and by
opening new markets. Copied from ideas begun in England
and France, American roads were being built everywhere. In
an attempt to make money, private investors financed many
turnpikes, expecting to profit from the tolls collected.
Although they did not make as much money as expected,
these roads made it possible for cheaper (not cheap)
domestic transportation of goods. It still cost more to

The water allowed horses,
once only able to pull a ton of materials, to now pull over a
hundred tons with the same amount of work. These canals
were not only economical for exporters, but also for the
state. Tolls alone collected from the Erie Canalhad, by
1825, already paid for the entire project ($7,000,000), and
now was making a substantial amount of profit. Even though
it had not totally expanded yet, the cheapest, most
economical method of transportation was the railroad.
Speed, durability, and safety all contributed to the success of
it. State legislatures and the national government all provided
aid to the railroad companies by decreased the tax on rail
iron. During this time period, manufacturing also boomed.
New ideas and inventions made it faster to produce
products. However, it is because of these new modes of
transportation that this was ever able to occur. The cotton
gin, invented by Eli Whitney, would never have been able to
develop fully if the transportation system did not make it
easy to obtain cotton from the south. With these new
technological breakthroughs, American economic growth
was significantly increased. By allowing cheaper importation
and exportation of goods, manufacturers were able to
produce more of these products. Also, it opened new
markets to different places. In the northwest, where coffee
was an expensive luxury (costing

A hero is someone who is looked up to for their admirable qualities. Heroes come in
all different shapes and sizes and we all have them, whether they are police
officers, firefighters, soldiers, or even family members. When we were little, our
idea of a hero was a bit different, we tended to look up to fictional superheroes such
as superman, batman, and the x men. We all loved to see them kick their enemies
butts episode after episode or page after page in a comic book. These individuals
were great inspirations to kids all around the world. But many of us forget, that not
all heroes work alone, some work as a group. The group of heroes that I always used

The Causes Of Juvenile Delinquency
Theft, vandalism, disorderly conduct, and possession of marijuana are common
crimes, offenses and violations of juvenile delinquency. Delinquency is the
wrongdoing or minor crime, especially committed by young people young people
refers to term juvenile . Delinquency may be committed by any individual regardless
of the age group, but with younger population it is handled differently in court system
compared to adults. Most states implement community based programs and school
related activities for prevention with educational subject matters such as
consequences, impactful effects, and removing oneself from provocative
circumstances. Surprisingly, juvenile arrest rates continuously decrease and reached
an all time low according to Office of Justice Programs (Synder, 2004). Although, the
statistics reflect positivity; the start of delinquency may lead to serious criminal
involvement later in life. Juvenile delinquencyis a societal issue therefore effective
measures must be in position to reinforce and educate the public to end this ongoing
predicament.
Based on numerous research findings the causes of juvenile delinquency are among
the lines of family, mass media, and peer pressure. The cases of these causes range
from high to low and basic to complex. Transiting from preteen into adolescence is
accompanied with intense peer pressure. Adolescents seek acceptance from peers
which allows the pressure to succeed. In like manner, teenagers are easily persuaded

Mass: A measure of the amount of matter in an object; a fundamental property of an
object that is not affected by the forces that act on the object, such as the gravitational
force.
Element: A substance that cannot be separated or broken down into simpler
substances by chemical means; all atoms of an element have the same atomic number.
Atom: The smallest unit of an element that maintains the chemical properties of that
element.

The simplest particle of an element that retains all of the properties of that element is
an atom.
Describe the arrangement within energy levels of the six electrons of an atom of
carbon:
How are isotopes of the same element alike?: Atoms of the same element that have a
different number of neutrons are called isotopes. Additional neutrons change the
mass of the element. Most elements are made up of a mixture of isotopes.
How can we predict which elements are reactive under normal conditions and which
are unreactive?: Some elements, such as helium and neon, consist of atoms that have
the maximum number of electrons in the orbitals of their highest energy levels. These
elements, also called noble or inert elements, do not react with other elements under
normal conditions. Most atoms are not stable in their natural state, so they tend to
react with other atoms in different ways to become more stable.
Distinguish between covalent and ionic bonds: A covalent bond forms when two
atoms share one or more pairs of electrons. Because positive and negative electrical
charges attract each other, the sodium ion and the chloride ion attract each other. This
attraction is called an ionic bond.

Thinking, Fractions And Decimals Are Extremely
Important...
Multiplicative thinking, fractions and decimals are extremely important areas of
mathematics children are required to develop. The concepts within these three areas
are related and it is critical for educators to support these relationships in the
classroom. Multiplicative thinking involves recall of basic facts, the relationship
between multiplicationand divisionand underpins the development of fractions.
Comprehension of fractions includes the division of objects, fractions as numbers,
the multiple ways equal fractions can be represented, as well as being represented
as decimals. Place value is a very important underpinning concept of decimals. Place
value aids the ability to read, write and work with decimals. There are a numberof
difficulties children can come across when developing these concepts and
relationships. With a vast mathematical content knowledge and pedagogical content
knowledge educators can provide effective instruction to help children over come
their difficulties. Developing a deep understanding of multiplicative thinking,
fractions and decimals will assist children in later mathematics.
To become a multiplicative thinker the ability to recall basic multiplication facts and
understanding of the relationship between multiplication and division must be
developed. If children do not develop the ability to recall basic multiplication facts
they can be in danger of developing negative feelings towards mathematics and
becoming withdrawn (Booker, Bond,

I think people need to become more aware of the damaging being done and the
money that is being spent towards these horrible wars that only bring pain and
sorrow. It is hard to make a change with war as it is something that everyday people
can not control but there are a few simple things you can do to become involved. A
major step is to become involved in today s politics and be aware of who you are
voting for. A way to help those being affected by war is to donate any money, old
clothes, toys and perishable food to any major organization. Major organizations
create safe spaces for children to go and help children get a start in going back to

However it is hard to keep up with the sheer amount of chemically altered
substances which flood the market year upon year. There are many different forms
of stimulant which have been created to mimic the effects of illegal drugs such as
cocaine, cannabis and ecstasy (See appendix B). As they cannot be sold for human
consumption they are often sold as incense, bath salts or plant food to avoid
breaking the law and can be found online or in many high street shops
(Talktofrank.com, 2015). They are often produced in China and India and then
imported to be packaged and sold as legal highs (EMCDDA, 2015). The contents
of NPS can vary greatly and the person taking the substance can never be 100%

many NPS do in fact contain illegal substances and so being in possession of these

some of the biological effects of legal highs? Taking NPS can cause hypertension
(raised blood pressure) this puts the heart and blood vessels under strain and could
potentially lead to life threatening medical complications such as; heart attack, stroke
and kidney disease. There is an even greater risk of suffering these if you already
have pre existing conditions such as diabetes (Bloodpressureuk.org, 2015). Another

He ran down the hallway towards me as I bent over, he clinched his arms tightly
around me and whispered softly, Thank you for being my friend . Those simple yet
influential words still echo in my head. Adam, was brought to a clinic that I

through his appointments and took extra time getting to know him and his family. I
started looking forward to seeing Adam at every appointment. All it took was a 10

own diagnosis of Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy with Ventricular bigeminy gave me
the platform that would give rise to my passion for medical sciences. My passion
would solidify with the support of my grandfather, a physician, who encouraged me to

as I read about disease processes and with the help of my father, a hospice nurse at the
time, whom strengthened my interest further in medicine.
Therefore, I embarked on a long winding path that would lead to meeting people from
different walks of life with a collective aim to better human health, from Chicago to
the West Indies. Initially, I started volunteering in clinics and a post anesthesia unit at

roles of the healthcare team. Shadowing physicians and day to day interactions with
nurses contributed to the

What is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
In 1981, a researcher named Fairburn conducted the first study applying cognitive
behavioral therapy to the treatment of bulimia nervosa. In a recently published
report by D. L. Spangler (1999), CBT is touted as a well developed, theoretically
grounded treatment for bulimia nervosa with the strongest empirical support for its
efficacy of any form of treatment for bulimia nervosa. Today cognitive behavioral
therapy (CBT) is a form of therapy commonly used to treat patients with bulimia
nervosa (BN).
More specifically, CBT is normally structured as a series of interventions that
addresses the cognitive aspects and the behavioral components of a particular
disorder. The cognitive behavioral approach is based on a theoretical view, which

In the book Dark Alliance by Gary Webb, is about the conspiracy of how the CIA
had monitored the selling of crack cocaine in America to help fund the Nicaraguan
contras secretly. And also during this process the Nicaraguan drugs were being sold
to inner cities to create a drug known as crack that harmed the black population
drastically.
First of all Gary Webbhad made a newspaper over this topic Gary was once a news
paper reporter and when he released the paper version of dark alliance it shocked
America many believing it was real many believing there was not enough evidence
however it has stood till today as being an accurate interpretation of corruption that
indeed happened in present day America.
The book tells us the story of how this all went down, basically there was a Latin
American army that was obtaining profits from the illegal drugs that were being
sold to the inner city gang groups known as the Crips and bloods. and while all this
was happening the CIA was well aware and in fact they were supposedly running the

was demoted for telling the truth so quit soon after.
Thane eventually many of the suspensions came to light when the inspector general

the contras and the united states and also stated that the operation was under wraps

Animal Assisted Therapy And Occupational Therapy
Abstract
The advantages and disadvantages of animal assisted therapy (AAT) are examined,
with a particular focus on the implications of implementing animal assisted therapy
within occupational therapy. There is a lack of research on animal assisted therapy to
date, specifically in the context of occupational therapy and research conducted by
occupational therapy professionals is even sparser. When considering the therapeutic
application of animal assisted therapy, it is important to acknowledge the accepted
interpretations of what defines animal assisted therapy and occupational therapy, the
patient populations which could benefit from AAT, and the contraindications,
limitations of current research, and further areas of study necessary for advancement
in the realm of AAT. Animal assisted interventions (AAIs) can provide meaningful
occupations for individuals, making them a unique alternative to traditional
occupational therapy interventions. Results of past studies reflect statistically
significant benefits of animal assisted therapy on a variety of characteristics and
disorders, among patients of all ages, and within various populations. As animal
assisted therapy continues to gain in popularity as a therapeutic intervention, research
on animal assisted therapy and its significance for use in occupational therapy should
be continued.
The Implementation of Animal Assisted Therapy within Occupational Therapy

I wanted to be Beautiful but I Didn t Want to be you
In Jane Martin s play, Beauty , Martin uses characterization and dissimilarities to
reveal real life challenges. The common idea that people only see the bad side of
their lives and the good side of others is demonstrated throughout Martin s play.
Beauty is a play centered on two friends; Carla, who Bethany views as being the
epitome of beautiful, and Bethany who Carla sees as the epitome of intelligent. Both
Carla and Bethany do not accept their status in life and therefore bring forth strong
emotions of jealousy and discontentment.
The theme of discontent is shown most efficiently throughout the character of

Because of this, she begs Bethany not to wish for beauty, because it comes with way

receives a lot of attention from men. Bethany sees this attention as a good thing since
Carla has so many dates that she has trouble keeping up with the men that she s been
with. This is seen at the very beginning of the play when Martin opens up with Carla
uttering the line In love with me? You re in love with me? Could you describe
yourself again? Uh huh. Uh huh. And you spoke to me? Carla interacts with so
many men that she can t keep up and although she has guys interested in her and has
sex often, she is still discontent. She often complains to Bethany of not being able to
hold a conversation with a man, because her beauty causes them to only want sexual
relations with her. Carla confesses her discontentment by saying that beauty is not
what I want . She feels as if her beauty means nothing if she cannot be brilliant. Men
will want nothing more than sex, if she does not have intelligence. Although Carla
desires to have both beauty and brains, she refuses to take exaggerating measures as a
means to attain it. Ultimately, Carla voices discontentment due to the problems that
beauty bring in her life, she isn t willing to trade her reality for someone

North West Rebellion Research Paper
Starting in the 1869, with the purchase of the Rupert s land, Canada had encountered
many issues dealing with a distant and unsatisfactory connection between the
Canadian government and western Canada. Ignoring land claims, not respecting
treaty rights and bringing fear of being pushed off the land, the government caused a
growth in frustration for Aboriginal groups in the west during the 1880s. In 1885, the
North West Rebellion started when the MГ©tis, lead by Louis Riel, created a
provisional government and a small military force to act against government troops.

First of all, the rebellion concluded after the aboriginals were forced to surrender.
On May 15, 1885, Louis Riel and the MГ©tis surrendered after a harsh defeat in
Batoche, while the Cree leaders, Poundmaker and Big Bear surrendered a few
weeks later. Even though all tribes did well in the first half of the rebellion, they
could not keep up with the government troops in the second half of the rebellion, as
they were low on ammunition and health. Spending a lot of energy and ammunition
on the first half of the rebellion was definitely a negative tactic made by the
aboriginals. However, there were many positive tactics made by the government
troops that lead to the result of the rebellion. General Middleton was the main leader
of the government troops and a tactic that he made could be the reason for the
conclusion of the rebellion. By setting up a camp near Batoche, he allowed the troops
to continuously attack the First Nations, making the aboriginals very tired and low
on ammunition. This tactic allowed the government troops to be more in control and
powerful of the rebellion. Also, one of the factors that really helped the government
was how they were able to easily transport themselves to western Canada through the
use of the CPR railway. Saving time for the soldiers and preventing them from being
tired was a key aid for the government. In

They always look so happy since than my dream was to open a family restaurant.
When i leave Haiti to come in the U.S years after years my dream was fading away.

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Clones
2.3.3Poisonous or dangerous
The seeds of wax apple are said to be poisonous and harmful for living. An unknown
amount of hydrocyanic acid has been reported in the roots, stems and leaves. An
alkaloid, jambosine, has been found in the bark of the tree and of the roots, and the
roots are considered poisonous. (Morton, 1987)

2.4.1Plant breeding method (marcotting or air layering)
Plant breeding methods produce plenty of method for propagation. One method from
plant breeding method is layering. Layering is a form of vegetative propagation
where cuttings are made to form adventitious roots while the cutting is still attached
to the mother plant. The stems branches of the mother plant of wax apple are
covered in a growing medium in various ways to exclude light, increase the moisture
level, and stimulate root growth. In the same time, once the roots are formed the new

This new plant is called a clone. There are six reasons and advantages to produce
clones. These are with marcotting can get the high yielding by plants propagated
as clones are from high yielding mother trees. By marcotting technique also
improve the early bearing which clones are starting to produce much earlier than
trees grown of seeds. The marcotting method can produce the smaller trees such the
trees, even fully grown, stay smaller and so need not as much space in the garden
or block and are easier to harvest. Other than that, improvements for good quality of
the fruits of clones have a better quality than plants from seeds. The trees by
marcotting method guaranteed harvest and can select female trees and so your
harvest will be bigger. The last advantage is can give better care for smaller trees
allow easier control of pest and diseases and simplifies orchard management. (NARI,
Is Edgar Allan Poe Genius Or Insane
There is always one step from genius to insane. Whatever case we take, both genius
and insane people have a kind of psychological shift from normal condition. This is
well known fact that early ages of human life impact person s fate to a large extent.
To better understand Edgar Poe, its quite necessary to go back to his early ages.
Poe knew sadness and grief his whole life. His mother died when he was only a
baby, he frequently argued with his foster father, and his beloved wife died of
tuberculosis. Edgar s father, David, was an alcoholic and abandoned Edgar and his
two siblings after his mother s death. Being a lonely and abandoned boy, he got
obsessed with cats and often wrote his masterpieces with a cat on his shoulder or on
the table. A big sorrow, which Edgar Alan Poe came through in his childhood made
him very secretive and reserved man. One morning he was found unconscious on the
street and died not long after. There is an evidence that he was an alcoholic and that
his death... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Human history knows thousands of thousands of writers and poets. But only
ridiculously small number of them are well known in the world nowadays. Edgar
Poe realized that in order to become famous and prominent writer he had to write
something original, he had to make use of his character traits. All the mystery,
which took place in his life, all symbolism in his novels and poems was nothing but
a kind of excellent PR in combination with writer s talent. Poe realized, that it was
not enough just to be good at writing, so he decided to create his own image of
mysterious man and neurotic genius. All his actions brought a far reaching effect:
people around the world know him as sulky, mysterious and slightly insane man, who
wrote thrilling novels and poems. Youngsters like to use his image when the time of

Stress And Health Problems Facing People Today
Social Stress and Health Kasia Tuturice SOC 240 November 26, 2014 Professor:
Dr. Jodi Levinthal Introduction Stress can make existing problems worse. It is
very important to recognize that interaction between the human mind and body
represents a critical factor in regarding to health. Illness of any kind disrupts
routines and interferes with day to day functions, all of which stresses an
individual. Stress affects the mind, body, and behavior in many ways, and
everyone experiences stress differently. Not only can overwhelming stress lead to
serious mental and physical health problems, it can also take a toll on your
relationships at home, work, and school. People stress about a lot of things such as
work, finances, our health, relationships, screaming kids, barking dogs, marriage,
divorce, and so on. With so many sources of stress, it is difficult to find time to
relax. This is why, in my opinion, stress is one of the biggest health problems
facing people today. There are various stress related topics. This paper will
describe three of them. What is stress and how does our body respond to it? What
causes stress and what are the social factors of stress? How do people react to
extreme situations, such as natural disasters and to ordinary life events like losing
their job? People under large amounts of stress can become tired, sick, and unable to
concentrate or think clearly. Sometimes, they even suffer mental breakdowns.

Essay On The Catcher In The Rye.pdf

  • 1. Essay On The Catcher In The Rye Crafting an essay on "The Catcher in the Rye" can be both challenging and rewarding. J.D. Salinger's novel is rich in symbolism, themes, and nuanced characterizations, making it a fertile ground for analysis. However, the difficulty lies in striking a balance between exploring the intricacies of the narrative and presenting a cohesive and well-structured argument. One of the challenges is deciphering Holden Caulfield's complex character. His narrative voice is distinctive, filled with colloquialisms and a unique perspective on the world. Capturing and interpreting his voice accurately requires a deep understanding of the character and an ability to articulate the psychological nuances that define him. Moreover, "The Catcher in the Rye" delves into themes such as alienation, adolescence, and the loss of innocence. Analyzing these themes necessitates a careful examination of the text, drawing connections between various events and characters. Developing a thesis that encapsulates these themes and supporting it with relevant evidence from the novel demands analytical prowess. Additionally, exploring the symbolism embedded in the narrative, such as the red hunting hat or the Museum of Natural History, requires a keen eye for detail. These symbols serve as windows into Holden's psyche, and deciphering their significance contributes to a more profound understanding of the novel. Structuring the essay poses another challenge. Balancing the exploration of different aspects of the novel without losing focus is crucial. Each paragraph should contribute to the overall argument, creating a cohesive and compelling narrative that engages the reader. In conclusion, writing an essay on "The Catcher in the Rye" demands not only literary analysis skills but also an ability to navigate the complexities of Holden Caulfield's character and the novel's themes. It's a task that requires careful thought, research, and a mastery of written expression. If you find yourself struggling with such assignments, remember that assistance is available. There are services like HelpWriting.net where you can order essays on a variety of topics. These platforms provide support and guidance for students facing challenges in their academic writing, ensuring that they can submit well-crafted and thoughtful essays. I swear you and your witty remarks, she muttered to herself. Trump further pointed out that large fractions of the US annual budgets are set aside to finance the international economic obligations of the country. As such, the Republicans pointed out that cutting such parts of the budget would help to boost the American economy and to reduce budget deficits. Further, the sect outlined that the allies of America will have to pay if the country is to offer military assistance and other services. Through this strategic approach, the republicans equally believed that returning American troops home and abandoning international missions would help save revenues that, in their view, are wasted on programs that do not directly benefit the American people. Ideally, the Republicans exhibited belief that continued involvement of America in international aids and assistive missions would affect the economy negatively, and would make America vulnerable in the global market (Smith 3). On debt, Donald Trump recounted his experience as a business mogul to be a value that will help him overcome the economic barriers and ensure that the country does not accumulate debts. Mahmasani begins by explaining that the concept of Islamic jurisprudence dealt with questions of religions, worship and legal transactions thus explaining that the ulama (scholars) and jurists had to be knowledge in all departments of knowledge (LI, 145). This knowledge comes from a variety of sources such as the Qu ran and the Sunna as well as through customs, geography, and the search for the inner ijtihad (endeavor or interpretation). • 7. The House Of Seven Gables The novel The House of Seven Gables conveys its messages through the usage of images, which is done through inanimate object or places. This can be seen in the house of the seven gables and the daguerreotype of judge Pyncheon. Hawthorne present these images in such a manner, that their original meaning in the novel is no longer applicable. While many see his writing style as a tedious form, such writing has made the images created by Nathanial Hawthorne. Nathanial Hawthorne may be seen as a writer with a tedious writing style, such as the long descriptions of the images in the novel. Nevertheless it s an effective manner to use allegory in a novel. The house of the seven gables initially gave the feeling that it represents the legacy of the Pyncheons and their corrupted quest for glory. But Hawthorne visual description of the house of seven gables distorts this manning. Hawthorne visual description presents it as a living being, which can be said to be a Pyncheon itself, The aspect of the venerable mansion has always affected me like a human countenance . . . expressive of the long lapse of mortal life. (Pg. 44). One gets the impression of human and object comparison when Hawthorne uses the words human countenance , which signifies human facial features, which presents a venerable image. Such imagery description of the house of seven gables intensifies the image of the house to the reader, since one does not associate a house with facial features. Another important

In order for a person to understand the rhythm and beat of Cuban music, one must first understand Cuban s history. In the 16th century, Cuba was colonized by the Spanish in order to grow sugar and tobacco for the mother country, Spain. At first, the Spanish used the native people to grow the cash crops but the natives could not withstand the harsh working conditions and soon died out, thus the importation of African slaves began. Cuba s slaves came primarily from West Africa from the countries of Nigeria, Ghana, Togo, Congo, Benin and Cameroon . During the time spent in captivity, African slaves were not restricted from practicing their own religion called Santeria. The Roman Catholic Church chose not to ban Santeria because of its connection to the local culture and its pairing with Roman Catholic saints . The followers of Santeria identify themselves with their own deity who are praised through their own specific call and response through the use of toques, drum patterns and chants . This disruption created the need for the military presence for security. How a person evaluates a dysfunction depends on your point of view. Its purpose and name has changed on several occasions, starting off as PE, then changing to Sport Education, to Health, and now Health and Physical Education (HPE). Limiting the rights of the NSPA would pave the way for other types of speech to be limited. My initial view was of course that anyone promoting Nazis views should not be allowed to march, especially considering the town s Jewish population. After further consideration, I realized that if the government has the ability to restrict Nazis protests, they have the ability to silence me if I am trying to share my faith with a Nazi and it offends them. If we give this power of limiting free speech to the government, they will basically be able to limit it however they so choose. If we allow the government to specifically certain types of speech, that power will invariably grow and power that is once tasted is not given back. We would most definitely loose freedom in other areas of speech. The speech, though I m sure it caused emotional distress, did not physically harm the citizens of the town. Copied from ideas begun in England and France, American roads were being built everywhere. In an attempt to make money, private investors financed many turnpikes, expecting to profit from the tolls collected. Although they did not make as much money as expected, these roads made it possible for cheaper (not cheap) domestic transportation of goods. It still cost more to transport a ton of ... These canals were not only economical for exporters, but also for the state. Tolls alone collected from the Erie Canalhad, by 1825, already paid for the entire project ($7,000,000), and now was making a substantial amount of profit. Even though it had not totally expanded yet, the cheapest, most economical method of transportation was the railroad.

State legislatures and the national government all provided aid to the railroad companies by decreased the tax on rail iron. During this time period, manufacturing also boomed. New ideas and inventions made it faster to produce products. However, it is because of these new modes of transportation that this was ever able to occur. The cotton gin, invented by Eli Whitney, would never have been able to develop fully if the transportation system did not make it easy to obtain cotton from the south. With these new technological breakthroughs, American economic growth was significantly increased. By allowing cheaper importation and exportation of goods, manufacturers were able to produce more of these products. Also, it opened new markets to different places. Heroes come in all different shapes and sizes and we all have them, whether they are police officers, firefighters, soldiers, or even family members. When we were little, our idea of a hero was a bit different, we tended to look up to fictional superheroes such as superman, batman, and the x men. We all loved to see them kick their enemies butts episode after episode or page after page in a comic book. These individuals were great inspirations to kids all around the world. But many of us forget, that not all heroes work alone, some work as a group. The group of heroes that I always used to aspire to emulate was the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Delinquency is the wrongdoing or minor crime, especially committed by young people young people refers to term juvenile . Delinquency may be committed by any individual regardless of the age group, but with younger population it is handled differently in court system compared to adults. Most states implement community based programs and school related activities for prevention with educational subject matters such as consequences, impactful effects, and removing oneself from provocative circumstances. Surprisingly, juvenile arrest rates continuously decrease and reached an all time low according to Office of Justice Programs (Synder, 2004). Although, the statistics reflect positivity; the start of delinquency may lead to serious criminal involvement later in life. Juvenile delinquencyis a societal issue therefore effective measures must be in position to reinforce and educate the public to end this ongoing predicament. Based on numerous research findings the causes of juvenile delinquency are among the lines of family, mass media, and peer pressure. The cases of these causes range from high to low and basic to complex. Transiting from preteen into adolescence is accompanied with intense peer pressure. Adolescents seek acceptance from peers which allows the pressure to succeed. In like manner, teenagers are easily persuaded to join

Describe the arrangement within energy levels of the six electrons of an atom of carbon: How are isotopes of the same element alike?: Atoms of the same element that have a different number of neutrons are called isotopes. Additional neutrons change the mass of the element. Most elements are made up of a mixture of isotopes. How can we predict which elements are reactive under normal conditions and which are unreactive?: Some elements, such as helium and neon, consist of atoms that have the maximum number of electrons in the orbitals of their highest energy levels. These elements, also called noble or inert elements, do not react with other elements under normal conditions. Most atoms are not stable in their natural state, so they tend to react with other atoms in different ways to become more stable. Distinguish between covalent and ionic bonds: A covalent bond forms when two atoms share one or more pairs of electrons. Because positive and negative electrical charges attract each other, the sodium ion and the chloride ion attract each other. This attraction is called an ionic bond. Page

The concepts within these three areas are related and it is critical for educators to support these relationships in the classroom. Multiplicative thinking involves recall of basic facts, the relationship between multiplicationand divisionand underpins the development of fractions. Comprehension of fractions includes the division of objects, fractions as numbers, the multiple ways equal fractions can be represented, as well as being represented as decimals. Place value is a very important underpinning concept of decimals. Place value aids the ability to read, write and work with decimals. There are a numberof difficulties children can come across when developing these concepts and relationships. With a vast mathematical content knowledge and pedagogical content knowledge educators can provide effective instruction to help children over come their difficulties. Developing a deep understanding of multiplicative thinking, fractions and decimals will assist children in later mathematics. To become a multiplicative thinker the ability to recall basic multiplication facts and understanding of the relationship between multiplication and division must be developed. If children do not develop the ability to recall basic multiplication facts they can be in danger of developing negative feelings towards mathematics and becoming withdrawn (Booker, Bond,

Even though all tribes did well in the first half of the rebellion, they could not keep up with the government troops in the second half of the rebellion, as they were low on ammunition and health. Spending a lot of energy and ammunition on the first half of the rebellion was definitely a negative tactic made by the aboriginals. However, there were many positive tactics made by the government troops that lead to the result of the rebellion. General Middleton was the main leader of the government troops and a tactic that he made could be the reason for the conclusion of the rebellion. By setting up a camp near Batoche, he allowed the troops to continuously attack the First Nations, making the aboriginals very tired and low on ammunition. This tactic allowed the government troops to be more in control and powerful of the rebellion. Also, one of the factors that really helped the government was how they were able to easily transport themselves to western Canada through the use of the CPR railway. Saving time for the soldiers and preventing them from being tired was a key aid for the government. In
