Abstract In this laboratory session, I determined the concentration of p xylene and m xylene in two
unknown samples, using o xylene as an internal standard. The analysis was done using Fourier
Transform Infrared spectrometry. The peak wavelengths of the three isomers were determined, and
standard curves were constructed from the ratio of the absorbance of the characteristic peaks. The
ratio of the concentrations was determined from the Least Square fitting of the data.

Para xylene belongs to a family of aromatic hydrocarbons of industrial importance and can be
polymerized to obtain parylene or as a starting point to the synthesis of polyethylene terephthalate,

willing to adapt to any changes that they need to phase. Those who migrate voluntarily are likely

Adoptive couple v. Baby Girl was a case that involved the biological parents of the baby girl in
question. The biological mother Christy was Hispanic Caucasian and, the father Mr. Brown, a
member of a Cherokee Indian tribe. Congress had to step in due to the ICWA or the Indian Child
Welfare Act that was passed in 1978 to prevent the illegal and harsh removal of Indian children
from the tribes. This case was a huge battle in the Supreme Court between the biological father
Dusten Brown and the adoptive parents of baby Veronica in September of 2011. This case caused

emotional struggle and financial trials that often come with the adoption process, and favored
that they baby be given to their adoptive parents who rightfully adopted a child who had been
willingly given up in infancy (and raised and cared for by adoptive parents for two years) by the
biological mother and a father who relinquished his biological rights to her prior to adoption.

similar situation a young man and woman had the same problem and the pregnant mother in

young man in question did not agree that his daughter would be given up for adoption but only
claimed that he had agreed to give up parental rights but the relationship of blood could not be
