The Tell Tale Heart Vs The Black Cat
In The Tell Tale heart and The Black Cat there are many similarities from the murder and the
motive of the killer. The man in The Black Cat is irritated and cannot stand to look at the cat or
animals, he feels compelled to harm them much like the man in The Tell Tale Heart feels towards
the man s grey eye. These things is what the murderers claim drove them to commit the crime.
Neither of the cator old man had hurt the perpetrators in anyway, in fact both the men in The Black
Catand The Tell Tale Heart cared for the very things they had killed. There was no reason for
what I did. I did not hate the old man; I even loved him. He had never hurt me. The Tell Tale Heart
and in the alcohol crazed killer in The Black Cat says

Blue Player Research Paper
This means the second shift must be either a pair with the third Red player and a Gold player or
the pair with the two Gold players. Which do you choose? At first blush, you would think the
Red/Gold pair would make the most sense, and all other matters being equal, it is the right
choice and the normal rotation. Nevertheless, maybe we should look deeper. Looking ahead, if
you cannot obtain four rotations, whom will the penalized Blue player skate with when he
comes out of the box? In our example that normally would be Gold 1 and Gold 2. Are you
comfortable with him on that mixed line? What positions will everyone on the line play? If you
like what you see, tell your assistant coach to follow Red 1 and Red 2 with Red 3 and Gold 3 and
then Gold... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If the puck is in our end, having him skate to the bench extends the power play and that is
unacceptable. However, it is also unacceptable to have him go into the play and have three
defensemen with no one certain as to what their responsibilities are. Keep it simple and do not
change the process. Go back to SECOND in our prior example and treat the defenseman as if he
is a forward. He will play a role customary for a forward until a play stoppage or the puck comes
out of our end and we change on the fly. As an example, since kids normally play better on the
same wing they shoot from, if the defenseman shoots right handed, think of him as a right wing.
I have also had success with a defenseman coming out of the box to play center if there were
three rotations. In our normal defensive system in the defensive zone, the center plays low and
helps the defense. There is a regular rotation between defense and center. Therefore, our
defensemen are comfortable playing center for this limited purpose in our end. This may not work
for you if you use a different defensive scheme. Either way, make sure all know what the plan is.
Again, we are not looking for three rotations, but we are planning in case it ends up that

The Life Of Constantine, A Roman Emperor Of The Roman Empire
The life of Constantine, a Roman emperor from 306 to 337 AD, is explained by two different
accounts that differ from each other. The first one that was written by Eusebius in 337 AD states
that Constantine is a victorious, pious emperor who helps others and orders the construction of
sacred places to honor Christ. The second account was written in 520 AD by Zosimus and it states
that Constantine is an impious, arrogant and selfish emperor who is responsible of the Roman
Empires collapse. Eusebius, a bishop, wrote a eulogy to honor Constantine upon his death in 337
AD. He pays his respect to Constantine by stating all, indeed, with one voice and one mouth,
declared that Constantine had appeared by the grace of God as a general blessing to mankind. In
this statement, Eusebius clearly emphasizes the importance that Constantine has in the Romans
life, and how they all agree that in fact he is a good influence for the Romans. He also considers
him as the victorious, the pious, the common benefactor who helps people and worships God.
Others characteristics about Constantine s personality are depicted by Eusebius such as
Constantine s ambition and his goal oriented mind. He s goal oriented personality is depicted
when the author states, (...) at the same time granting ample supplies of money, and commanding
that the house of prayer worthy of the worship of God should be erected near the Saviour s tomb
on a scale of rich and royal greatness. In this statement, is clearly

Goals For Breakaways
The first thing that must be noted about Breakaway is its non profit and religious worldview. Goals
for Breakaway will be much different than that of a corporation of for profit organizations. Their
communication style will be different. As Chung Ming, McDaniel, and Busenitz insist, religious
organizations in particular have a chief goal; and that is church growth. They define growth in
terms of attendance and spiritual growth, measured with Likert scales. Olsen portrays the goals of
The Church of JesusChrist of Latter day Saints as three responsibilities: to increase positive
worldwide public awareness of the church; to help people better understand the church, its
members, and beliefs; and to join with others to build bridges of friendship and understanding (1).
This aspect of religious communication will have wide effects on how money is collected and

Waters, Friedman, Mills, and Zeng discuss two way communication on religious organization s
websites. Their idea of Dialogic communication is labeled as assurances. Assurances consist of
feedback areas, working emails, and online stores and donation options. The results of their research
confirmed that religious websites have very little opportunities for audiences to voice their opinions
back to the organizations in question. This article about relational management theory concludes
that, Failing to assure Web site visitors that their concerns and comments were wanted can
damage existing relationships with churchgoers and others who visit the Web site before
physically going to the religious organization (99). While these authors offer no reasoning as to a
real why this phenomena occurs, Ionia offers the opinion that non profits may not be as
technologically advanced due to their lack of funds and staff. A deficiency in either area is a

Modern Day Zombies
Today, there are zombies everywhere, they have taken over the planet and wander the streets,
shopping malls and even in public transportation stops. Their heads down unaware of the world
around them. These zombies are either focused on the latest text, tweet, or email, and cannot be
bothered by humans. In today s word smartphones are creating modern day zombies by
controlling them, just like how zombies are being controlled by their disease. Throughout the
years a cellphone meant a portable phone to communicate, In 1973 Matty Copper made the very
first phone call ( Wall street Journal. 2013 ) The main use of a cellphone was to only make a call
or to text, as years passed cellphones then upgraded, and included various types of apps where
people can use social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to communicate with friends

assess the various kinds of behavior based on cellphones, and argues that smartphone use could
possibly be the biggest non drug addiction now a day. Because a smartphone provides so many

voter is educated and religious. Big Daddy s daughter will be voted by wealthy white religious
southern section of Texas, also she will have supporters that also voted for her Father.
Campaign Themes
A focus that will affect Miss Bitzi from winning will be the melting pot in Texas. According

Concentrating on historically beneficial voting regions, the data of people workforce and economic

Political election strategy. Accurately planning a strategic foresight to enhance the voting outcomes
of regions and populations will demonstrate positive outcomes for this candidate. This campaign

There is no shortage of news about gangs and gang related incidents of violence. There are many

Medical And Health Services Manager
As a Kaplan University student pursuing a Bachelors in Health Science I will hope to attain a
position as a Medical and Health Services Manager. By position and title I will help to plan, direct,
or coordinate medical and health services in hospitals, clinics, managed care organizations, public
health agencies, or similar organizations. It is possible that I could manage an entire facility or a
specific clinic or department. Maybe even manage a group of physicians. Managers must be able to
direct changes that conform in healthcare laws, regulations, and technology to continue to evolve
with medical practices and the government.
Medical and health services managers must at least have a bachelor s degree in a supporting
field. Some positions may require that you have your master s degree in the field as well. I
found, on www.onetonline.org, that a few certifications such as Certified Healthcare Facility
Manager, Approved Clinical Supervisor, or Certified Health Unit Coordinator may needed to be
taken as well. All states also have their own licensures whether it be national or state specific. A
healthcare facility should be specific an any additional training or certifications that will be

Analysis Of The House Of Mirth By Lara Saltz
Selden, in The House of Mirth, is a character that is part of the Elite class, but that doesn t allow
the constraints of the elites shadow his vision. In her essay, Lara Saltz argues Selden is able to
see real, poetic Lily because he possesses both an acute eye for what is materially in front of him
(Saltz 1). She continues on with this thesis, arguing that Selden posses a balance between
realism and imagination, that allows him to see the real Lily, during her performance of Sir
Joshua Reynold s pain, Mrs Lloyd. Evidence in the novel showing that Selden can see past the
illusions of high life, can be seen in Lily realizing that Selden is detached from the social world,
the discussion of love between Lily and Selden and Lily s final confrontation of Selden and
subsequent death. These three pieces of evidence support Saltz s assertion that Selden can see
things for what they really are due to his ability to balance realism and imagination. The first,
being Lily s observation that Selden is detached from the social class. The party, being thrown
by Mrs. Trenor, is the stage in which Lily discovers that Selden is detached from social class.
The entire affair, starts with Lily being asked to help, it seems, to plan the weeding. during this
planning, it is discovered that Mrs. Trenor has scheduled the party in conflict with another
character s own party. They move in this sense, not really caring about who will be offended and

Civil Disobedience, Moral Responsibility of a Citizen? Yes, civil disobedience is a moral
responsibility of a citizen because, if a large group of people do not agree with a law because it
is random, illogical or suppressive then it falls on them to provoke a change. Civil disobedience
varies from person to person because everyone has different definitions of right and wrong. In order
to be civilly disobedient you must have the right intentions at the beginning of your actions. In India

Gandhi was a huge reason Britain left India. A point that Gandhi made for being civilly
disobedient was satyagraha and it is insistence on truth, a way of reform with nonviolent actions.
One who resorts to it does not have to break another s head; he may merely have his own head
broken. He has to be prepared to die himself suffering all the pain (Civil Disobedience). This is a
form of countering an unjust law with civil disobedience because you are breaking that law,
peacefully and provoking a response from the government. You are not performing a violent action
that causes harm. Thus provoking a response from the government means it is working, and not

The California Drought and the Proper Allocation of Water Resources
Intro:
The state of California is in the midst of a five year drought. The results of which are beginning to
reek havoc on the state s municipalities, farms and wetland habitats. If the state continues as is
supporting in thirsty agricultural industries, towns and cities at current levels, not only will this
exacerbate already tenuous water supply problem within the state it will have ripple affects
throughout the South West. Surrounding states will have to adopt even more stringent restriction
for farms, cities and industries which may have further calamitous economic results. However, the
most difficult questions like proper allocation or modifying water rights have yet to be answered
and likely will not be resolved before California s water situation worsens. Last April standing in
front of a snowpack at just 5% of normal levels, Governor Jerry Brown declared the drought in
California has reached a crisis level and instituted state wide water restriction for towns, cities and
municipalities. He called for a 25% reduction of water usage by urging Californians flush less, take
shorter showers, and let lawns turn brown. Although agriculture accounts for roughly 80%
(Northern California Water Association) of all human consumption of water this industry was
exempted any restriction by the governor. With a drought which shows no sign of letting up,

Sacred Heart Cathedral Essay
The Sacred Heart Cathedral is of the Roman Catholic religion. The Roman Catholic church was
created when the Eastern and Western churches divided in 1054, with the Roman Catholic church
coming from the Western church (Matlins). Coming from a Methodist background, I found Roman
Catholicism interesting because out of the various Christian denominations Roman Catholicism
appeared to differ the greatest from the Protestant and Orthodox sectors of Christianity(Brodd). It is
intriguing that one religion can have various practices and ways of worship. After and during MassI

As I entered the cathedral the first observation I made was that the congregation was wearing
various clothing. Some individuals were dressed in formal attire, which I was expecting, but
others were dressed in shorts, T shirts, and sneakers. This was surprising to me because I had
thought that attending Mass was a formal occasion. There were greeters at the entrance of the
Cathedral making everyone feel welcomed and passing out bulletins. I was amazed by the
intricacy of the inside of the cathedral! The ceiling of the cathedral reminded me of the ceiling of
the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo. Before the service started, I awed at the ceiling and the
stained glass windows. The stained glass windows were vibrant in color and intricate in design.
Throughout the cathedral there were statues of various important Christian figures. I assumed that
the statues were either of Jesus, the Virgin Mary, various saints, or individuals from the Old
Testament because Matlins and Magida discuss how these statues are prominent in Roman
Catholic cathedrals (Matlins). I know for a fact that one of the statues was indeed Jesus because it
was a statue of him hanging on the cross. Like my church, there were pews for the congregation to
sit in; however, what was different was that there were benches for the congregation to kneel on.
According to Matlin and Magida, these benches are

Comparing Two Choices
Did you grow up in a small town or a big city? There are many different opinions on which one is
better for a person overall, which can often lead to arguments. Choices can have both positive and
negative sides to them. In this case both choices that are given have pros and cons. The better
choice is to grow up in a big city.
The first reason that growing up in a big city is good, is that you have the chance to meet more
people in big cities usually have a lot of people in them, of all races and ethnicities. Growing up
in this kind of environment can help a person socially. It helps a person not judge people as much

Theories of Development
The way we work with children and current practice is affected by theories of development which
are written by many physcologists who have studied children and ways in which they develop.
They have many varied ideas about how children learn. The physcologists have proposed different
theories that they claim to explain children s learning and how important the nature versus nurture
argument is. Some of the physcologists and their theories are outlined in this essay.
COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT
Jean Piaget s theory was that children learn through experience and how they change their
perception of things based on what they have learned or experienced. They learn things at different
ages and stages of their lives. As children experience ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

house that gets the most points get a reward. Children are also rewarded with a star stamp on their
hand that shows them that they have done well and also they can show their parents that they have
done well.
BEHAVIOURIST THEORY
John B Watson s theory was that children learn behaviour through watching others. He believed
children could be trained into behaving in a positive manner. He used Pavlov s theory of how to
train dogs and believed we could condition children to behave appropriately. His theory influences
current practice through how to inflict positive behaviour in children and to change their behaviour
so children can learn new skills and basic behavioural principles.
SOCIAL LEARNING THEORY
Albert Bandura s theory was that children learned behaviour through watching their parents, peers
or other adults through social interaction. He didn t believe that children s behaviour could be
trained but by observing their behaviour. He also believed that even though children learn a new
behaviour doesn t mean they will carry it out. he also said that children learn through socialising
with others. Bandura s theory has influenced current practice by encouraging and influencing good
behaviour and building self esteem.

G lobal health is an extremely complex ... area of study, research and practice that places a priority

emphasizes transnational health issues, determinants and solutions; involves many disciplines
within and beyond the health sciences and promotes interdisciplinary collaboration; and is a

During an intercultural teaching experience in Japan in 2004 to 2005, the author had previous
experience in developing and teaching an international nursing course. These experiences provided
insight into the complexity of global health and the need to bring disparate but related concepts
into a meaningful whole. Redwood Campbell et al. (2011) described an organizing framework for
global health curricula in family medicine. The aim was to identify and incorporate key educational
elements to achieve desired global health education outcomes. Although the framework guides the
curriculum for family medicine, an expanded framework is needed with an interprofessional focus.
The purpose of this paper is to (a) present an organizing framework for interprofessional global
health courses/curricula, (b) describe the primary and secondary characteristics that are distinct to
global health , and (c) discuss how the primary and secondary characteristics are reflected in the
organizing framework.
The Organizing Framework
Recently, there have been recommendations for the incorporation of systems thinking into global
health. Russell et al. (2014) contended that systems thinking offers the principles and methods
necessary to address existing and future health challenges in global health. Thus, there is
justification for using open systems theory as the basis for the organizing framework which
consists of input, process, output, and a feedback loop. The concepts in

The Importance Of Location In The Awakening
Location in The Awakening Location, location, location. People everywhere form their daily
routines based on location. People, past and present, are bound to the social customs and
expectations that are tied to where they live. Authors throughout history have used this fact to
symbolize conflicting mindsets or ideas. Kate Chopins novel, The Awakening, demonstrates this
metaphor perfectly. Through her characterEdna vacationing on the Grand Isle, then returning to
her old life in New Orleans, Chopin exemplifies how location is extremely impactful on one s
life and represents the conflict within. The Awakening begins on the Grand Isle where Edna
Pontellier and her family are vacationing. While there, Edna meets Robert Lebrun, and she feels
a special connection to Robert. Her time on the island s beach only intensifies her attraction
towards Robert as her more erotic side shines through. Because the beach acts as the backdrop for
her new, tempting nature, the Grand Isle represents Edna s change in mentality about how she is
living her life. The Grand Isle represents her freedom. Freedom from society and others telling her
what she is expected to do. The Grand Isle represents Edna s realization that she wants to lead a
more meaningful life than the one she has been living. A life where she is... Show more content on

Three Fifths Compromise Essay
There are a number of compromises that can be found in the U.S constitution, all having had a
major role in shaping what we all know today as the United States of America. With so many
important compromises it is hard to chose just one. That being said, the compromise which I intend
to discuss is the three fifths compromise. This compromise is important in our history and is a
pretty controversial matter.Three fifths compromise was important for both the northern and
southern states. The main question that was brought up for this subject was if slaves should be
counted in census to determine the number of congressional delegates a state should recieve. What

As previously stated, the clause provides that representation in Congress will be based on the
whole number of free persons and three fifths of all other persons (Article 1 section 2 clause 3)
which referred to the slaves. According to Erik M. Jensen, professor of law, the popular
misunderstanding in regards to this provision is that it did not declare that African American
slaves were three fifths of a person but rather the provision was declaring that the slave states
would get extra representation in Congress for their slaves, even though those states treated
slaves only as property. Ultimately, this provision was not really about race but rather about
status and political power for the states. Something that some might not know is that free blacks
were not counted in the same way as slaves were. They were counted in the same way as all
white men. (The Root) The reason for this is because the clause did not say that a slave was three
fifth of a person also, the clause had nothing that involved free blacks. Instead, the clause gave us a

Future Of Life Edward O Wilson Analysis
In the book, Future Of Life (2002), Edward O. Wilson, satirizes and jokes about how childish and
unsophisticated arguments are such as those between the People First Critics and Environmentalist.
The results of this book is to showcase how these arguments lead to nowhere and Wilson presents
this information by satirically mocking both sides of the argument with exaggeration, sarcasm and
hyperboles. On line one, the very beginning of the passage, Wilson states by calling the
Environmentalists, Conservationists which is almost identical to when an individual brags about
themself in a cocky manner. When a person is prideful, overconfident and arrogant they create a
superiority complex which makes them feel better than others. In those scenarios, they don t even
argue with others and just believe that they are always right, making them close minded to other
opinions and ideas. This cockiness that Wilson mocks from the People First Critics point of view
shows the reader that Environmentalists think they are perfect and there is no possible way that
their ideals are flawed, which makes it a useless argument because both sides are arguing with no
end in sight. This cockiness... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This type of parody is a hypothetical situation which is an immature form of argumentation
because it is not a real life scenario and is made up. This is a person just making up ideas just to

of them because of that idea. This exaggeration and hypothetical situation makes the
Environmentalists seem selfless and ignorant because the People First Critic is only looking at a
worst case scenario that will most likely not even

Real Textile and Domestic Wastewater Treatment by Novel...
The microbial fuel cell (MFC) is an upsurging technology in the field of bio energy generation
along with wastewater treatment. The microbial fuel cell generates energy with the help of
microbes that makes it green future source of energy. In MFC, anaerobic microbes degrade
organic matter and produce hydrogen ions (H+) and electrons (e ) at the anode. H+ ion diffuses
through the proton exchange membrane (PEM); and e are transported through an electrode via an
external circuit to the cathode. At a cathode, e and H+ ions combine with oxygen to form water
(H2O), this results in power generation [1]. MFC has limited open circuit voltage (OCV) of 1.14
V because of the standard redoxpotential of NADH/ NAD+ and O2/H2O of 0.32 V and +0.82 V...

Generally treatment processes are classified as physical, chemical or biological. Physical treatment
process includes physical extraction of dyes by adsorption [8], membrane filtration [9] and ion
exchange. However, extracted dyes not be recovered, high cost and yet requirement of another
process to degrade dyes makes these processes unsustainable. Chemical methods as Chemical
Oxidation [10], Ozonization [11] and Electrochemical degradations are uneconomical and
unfavorable for the environment. Biological methods are based on anaerobiotic or aerobiotic,
microbial culture. But purely anaerobic digestion of azo dye produces carcinogenic aromatic amine
and aerobic deterioration alone is not able to degrade all dyes, also result in high amounts of
sludge [12 14]. Sequential application of anaerobic followed by aerobic degradation has been
providing a solution with the advantage of economic, reliable and ecological benefits [15,16].
Real textile wastewater (RTW) has low biological oxygen demand (BOD) to the chemical
oxygen demand (COD) ratio, which implies chemical treatment is required. RTW also has
greater color appearance; high total dissolved solid (TDS), suspended solids (SS), high
temperature and variable pH (from 5 to 9) depending on dye. On the other hand, domestic
wastewater has almost neutral pH, high BOD, normal temperature and high volume as well.
Gingell and Walker [17] proposed two step mechanism for degradation of azo dyes Step 1 is the

The Role Of Gun Violence In The United States
Teens and young adults are far more likely to be victims of gun violence than older people.
Between 1976 and 2005, some 77 percent of homicide victims ages fifteen to seventeen were
killed with guns. (Gun Control). In today s society, people are allowed to have guns because of
the second amendment. The second amendment gives people the right to keep and bear arms.
Many politicians disagree on who the second amendment applies to; however, regardless of who it
is intended for, gunviolence has become extremely high in the United States. Men originally made
guns to aid soldiers fighting in wars. Now, people are using guns to commit crimes such as
robbery and murder. The only way to stop the rate at which these crimes are being committed, is to

Preventing Sperm From Entering The Uterus
II.Barrier methods:
These methods are designed to prevent sperm from entering the uterus. Barrier methods are
removable and may be an option for female who cannot utilize hormonal methods of contraception.
Types of barrier methods include:
1 Male condom:
The condom consists of a thin sheath placed over the glans and the shaft of the penis that is
applied before any vaginal insertion. It is one of the most popular mechanical barriers. Among all of
the barrier methods, the condom offers the most effective protection of the genital tract against
STDs. Its use has increased from 13.2 18.9% amongst all females of reproductive age due to the
disquiet regarding the acquisition of HIV and STDs. It prevents pregnancy by preventing the
passage of semen into the vagina. Figure (1): Male condom
In November 2013, the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) stated policy for improving the
utilization of condoms amongst adolescents.
These recommendations include the following:
Encouraged adolescents to abstain from sexual intercourse or delay future sexual relationships
Pediatricians should particibate in educating adolescents and their parents about responsible sexual
activity and encouraging the correct utilization of condoms among adolescents who are sexually
active.
Health education programs for K 12 children should provide education and counseling about sexual

Kelley Outbreak
The Kelly outbreak is a famous phenomenon in Australia s colonial history. Whilst some people
prefer to see the outbreak as a simple criminal incident between an outlaw and the police, most
historians view it as a broader sociological phenomenon, involving conflict between a larger rural
community and the colonial authorities. An important issue for historians has been to understand
the underlying causes of this criminal outbreak, whether it was mainly due to personal, ethnic or
socio economic factors. This essay will critically examine each of these explanations and argue that
the actions of the Kellys and their supporters, and the reactions of the police can best be understood
in terms of broad socio economic developments in rural... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These changes, he argues, could not fail to produce profound results , one of which was an

region was first occupied by squatters during the late 1830s and 1840s, and was largely settled
by 1847. By 1850, several villages were established, there were good seasons and high wool

the monopoly of the squatters by creating a new rural class from the diggers now experiencing
diminishing returns on the goldfields. These laws made available small freeholds of pastoral
land for selection by any man or (single) woman over the age of eighteen.... 15 This effort to
make land available to the new rural classes proved a failure however. The government s and the

The Origins of the final solution by Christopher Browning gives a comprehensive review of what
led up to the final solution. He belongs to the school of thought of moderate functionalism, that the

that the final solution happened because of previous attempts to create a Judenfrei Europe that did
not have enough success. It uses multiple types of evidence to prove this thesis. First it talks about
Jewish policy in Poland, involving deportation and in turn the resettlement of Volksdeutsche. The
problem with this is that it does not have enough success, with deportation rates at a low 40% on
average. In addition, many government officials were

Innate Pathogens
Pathogens and parasites are very dangerous and lethal to not only vertebrate species such as
animals, but invertebrate species like insects as well. Insects have to heavily rely on their innate
immune system, which is an immediate response in quickly destroying invaders (Alberts et al
2002). Melanism is a key response to insects innate defenses that serves many functions like
improving fitness. Melanin darkens the insects cuticle, which is facilitated by the enzyme
phenoloxidase that converts dopamine to melanin (True 2003). So when the insectis infected, host
hemocytes surround around an invader and from a melanized capsule, and as the capsule darkens,
cytotoxic intermediates are produced and the invader loses its ability to survive (Cerenius

Business Process Management Case Study
1.INTRODUCTION:
About BPM
Jean Philip Pritchard Colin Armistead, (1999); described Business Process Management (BPM) as
a methodology designed to eliminate waste, customer driven and ensure increased productivity. The
main drivers of the approach in most organization are threat of competition, need to improve
quality, responsiveness of products and services, while the main benefits are the need to improve
client relationship, change in organization culture and ensuring better cross functional working
environment.
Business Process Management (BPM) is described as management discipline that associates

Relationship Between Glucose And Sucrose
The independent research project is designed to test the relationship between amounts of sucrose
and glucose produced and its conversion to carbon dioxide through the process of cellular
respiration. The familiar white granules commonly used for baking are known as table sugar or
sucrose. Sucrose consists of glucoseand fructose, which are forms of sugars that are the most basic
types of carbohydrates. The breakdown of sugars occur through chemical processes and ultimately,
results in production of carbon dioxide. The use of enzymes is required to create this process.
An enzyme speeds up the process of breaking down sucrose into glucose. Sucrose and glucose are
considered to be carbohydrates and more specifically known as simple sugars. Glucose is a
monosaccharide and helps build the disaccharide known as sucrose. Enzymes are proteins and they
help make multiple different chemical reactions faster. In humans, the enzyme... Show more

molecule that provides energy in a form that cells can use for cellular processes. Cellular
respiration is a process that cells use to transfer energy from the organic molecules in food to be

Analysis Of Joe Garland s In The Mood
The Jazz era was a time period in which the definition of music began to diverge; composers were
able to express themselves in a sense that was soulful and vibrant, where any door of possibility

swing era. The iconic Jazznumber had been arranged by many artists; however, it was not until
Glenn Millerorchestrated this piece so perceptively that In The Mood became so well renowned.
It was in 1939 when Miller seamlessly altered the Jazz piece that In The Mood was sent to number

Presky suggests that we need to update our methodology in order to fit today s needs better.

sending them an email (Prensky, Mark. Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants. Page. 2 2001).
Prensky complicates this matter when he embeds it into school routine. He endorses that to digital
natives it feels like they are being taught by foreigners who have no wrap their head around English
language yet.
However, this is a dilemma that only starts, rather than ends, at the lack of communication. By
introducing another example, he disputes that there is also a quarrel in the way of thinking in
general. Digital natives, for example, believe that studying should be fun and could easily be done,
while, for example, watching TV. This Digital Immigrants, however, deny up to this day; simply
because they were not capable of doing all those things, while they were young.
He then reminds us that, in spite of prevailing belief, one cannot simply presume that students
function the same way their teachers did when they were in school. As a result of this, he enters
the debate whether students should go back to their old ways or if teachers should have to learn
this new language (Prensky, Mark. Digital Natives, Digital

An Example Of Small Business In The Walt Disney Company
People wonder all the time how companies started out and how they got so successful? An
example of a person who has helped successful people get off their feet. James Dill, the founder
of CT, allegedly is the person that laid down the foundation for the incorporation law ( CT
Sponsors 2015 Small Business Week. ). They are associated with the SBA, also known as the
Small BusinessAssociation. CT Corporation offered a convention like event about recognizing
small business and their contributions to America. These conventions date back to 1963 ( CT

as, persistence, confidence, fearlessness, and passion.
This skill is something everybody needs if success is wanted; that skill would be persistence.
Persistence is a good skill to have because it means having a will to continue an action even when
obstacles get in the way. Henry Ford tried making a 4 wheel vehicle mainly running on ethanol.
After failing his attempted on the car, Henry invented the model T as part of his Ford Motor

The Different Forms Of Government, Friendship, Trust, And...
Within Aquinas political writings, he shows us the six different forms of government and the
reason why some are better than others. Government was created not just for organization but so
people can come together to form a community. A community works best when the governing only
want well being for the governed. Aquinas not only compares the different forms of governmentby
showing their benefits and drawbacks, but also argues about the supremacy of a monarchy, and
how it s the best form of government. The purpose of government is to look out for the well being
of the community so that it can keep all the basic values of human nature like religion, friendship,
trust, and prosperity. Aquinas states that government is to serve the people while taking into
account peace and unity because the good and wellbeing of a community united in fellowship lies
in the preservation of its unity (p 10). He explains that without fellowship there can be no unity
and that we can find fellowship through trust and well being. Peace gives community a sense of
harmony through nonviolence and the freedom from war. We find that government can be broken
down into six different regimes, each having a different way of ruling and a different objective.
Each are different in ways yet some worse than others. Aquinas describes each regime with a
certain sense of reality and gives us an idea of what the rulers are like within each government.
There are six forms of government; all compose of

Essay on Cis Memory Management
CIS:328
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to show how memory is used in executing programs and its critical
support for applications. C++ is a general purpose programming language that runs programs using
memory management. Two operating system environments are commonly used in compiling,
building and executing C++ applications. These are the windows and UNIX / Linux (or some
UNIX / Linux derivative) operating system. In this paper we will explore the implementation of
memory management, processes and threads.
Memory Management
What is a Memory Model?
A memory model allows a compiler to perform many important optimizations. Even simple compiler
optimizations like loop fusion move statements in the program can influence the ... Show more

Other functions need to be used to segment the virtual memory pages into useful segments. Since
virtual memory is allocated by pages, a number of special paging features can be used on virtual
memory that cannot be used on other types of memory. For instance, pages can be locked (to
prevent read/write access), or they can be protected from any particular access mode (read, write,
execute).
Heap memory and allocating a memory block
Each program is provided with a default process heap, but a process may optionally allocate any
number of additional heaps, if more storage is needed. The heap functions will manage their
virtual memory usage automatically, and therefore heaps can be set to grow if they are being
filled up with data. If a heap is allowed to grow automatically, the heap functions will automatically
allocate additional pages as needed. On the x86 architecture the heap grows in size towards higher
memory addresses.
To use heap memory, a heap must first be allocated (or a handle must be obtained to the default
heap). Once you have obtained a handle to a heap, you can pass that handle to the memory
allocation functions, to allocate memory from that particular heap.
Managing process specific memory
The cpu executes a large number of programs while its main concern is the excution of uer
programs, the cpu is also needed for other system activities. These activities arecalled processs. A
process is a program in execution. Typically a batch job is a process.

Processing and Manufacturing of Cheese
Cheese has been used for centuries in an effort to preserve the nutrition available in milk. Today,
more than fourteen hundred types of cheese exist, each with a distinct taste. (Thompson, 2007)The
manufacturing of cheese is through several processes that are, pasteurization, adding additives,
milk ripening and coagulation, curdtreatment and finally cheeseripening. (Goff, 1995)
PH monitoring, along with the casein to moisture ratio, is the most important step that determines
cheese texture. Certain cheese varieties, such as Swiss, Gouda and Cheshire cheese exhibit a
narrower range of pH as compared to Cheddar cheese. Starter cultures are used to achieve the
desired pH needed for fermentation. In order to reach the optimum pH, the temperature, content of
lactose and the products produced during fermentation are closely monitored. This stage of the
cheese making process is called ripening. (Ardo Waagner, 2011). The minimum pH used for the
production of different types of cheese is given in the graph below. (Ardo Waagner, 2011)
Camembert, Feta and Danablu are low pH cheese varities, where as, Cheddar cheese utilizes a
medium minimum pH. High pH cheese varieties include Mozzarella, Tilsiter, Havarti, Gouda,
Danbo and the Emmental groups. (Ardo Waagner, 2011) Starter cultures are microorganisms that
are used in the production of cultured milk products. Lactic acid bacteria, LAB, are the most

Rationalization As The Development Of Western Society And...
Rationalization is a process whereby traditional meanings, values and the mode of thought are
replaced by modern rational ones. Weber sees the development of rationalization as the
development of Western society and modern culture. Individuals become more concerned with
achieving materialistic goals by rational means and by calculating and weighing up all the possible
outcomes. In addition to rationalization, Weber also saw the disenchantment of the world, in which
science and rationality are more highly valued than belief. It is the devaluation of mysticism and the
cultural rationalization, mainly apparent in modern Western societies. Through this rationalization
process, Weber sees an increasing trend towards secularization, bureaucratization and
modernization. For Weber, traditional society was one where the world remains a great enchanted
garden . (The University of Winchester, 2014) He regarded these traditional forms as irrational or
at least non rational. This is because they rely on superstition and magic as a way of explaining the
social world and have no methodical forms of development, but are based on emotions, feelings and
personal insights. The view that rationalization leads to an increasing trend towards secularization
is supported by Wilson (1966), who defines this concept as a process in which religious ways of
thinking, practices and institutions lose significance in modernity. This can be seen in statistics on
church attendance. According to Human

The Health Issues Concerning the African American Population

Athabasca University

African Americans first arrived to the United States as a crew on a pirate ship in the year 1619
(Bennett, 1992 as cited in Edelman Mandle, 2002). The American population saw these new
immigrants as an opportunity and captured many of the six million African immigrants and sold
them as slaves (Bennett, 1992 as cited in Edelman Mandle, 2002). The African American
community suffered through a history of slavery and discrimination which has led to their current

Alcohol is also problematic for the African American population. Alcohol is one of the most
significant problems among African Americans and leads to more violence, abuse, isolation and
social consequences among black women when compared to white women (Donatelle, 2003).
African Americans tend to have more of an alcohol problem as a population whole compared to
whites but tend to consume less alcohol overall (Donatelle, 2004). Excessive, long term alcohol
intake can lead to enhanced risk of developing cancer, a damaged central nervous system and
harmful effects to the cardiovascular system (Donatelle, 2004). Since African Americans are
already at more risk for developing cancer and cardiovascular disease, alcohol would enhance the
risk of developing these disease and thus would reduce their overall health. Another health issue
that African Americans struggle with is diabetes. Diabetes is a disease that involves the body
producing high levels of blood glucose levels (Powers, Dodd Noland, 2006). There are two types
of diabetes; type 1 and type 2. Type 1 is known as the juvenile onset diabetes and caused by a
lack of insulin production and secretion while type 2 is characterized by deficiency of insulin
production, decreased production of insulin and increased insulin production and can usually be
controlled by diet and exercise (Smeltzer Bare, 2003). African Americans are twice as likely to

Advantages Of Twinning In Healthcare
Twinning is a concept that compares two similar groups, organizations, or people (Twinning, n.d.).
In the healthcare field, twinning often occurs between a rich country and a poor country that
struggles with providing healthcare to its citizens (MacDonagh, Jiddawi, Parry, 2002). Advantages
of the twinning program are regular contact and collaboration between the two countries as well as
the setting of goals with monitoring and adjustments being made as necessary (MacDonagh, et al.,
2002). Twinning programs among businesses and organizations follow the same goal setting and
monitoring as it does in the healthcare industry. With the twinning program established by
ArcelorMittal, the struggling Burns Harbor Mill was paired with a stronger

Same Zygotic Twins
1.Twins can occur in two main ways which is why there is two main categories of twins. One type
of twins occurs from one sperm fertilizes one ovum. This fertilized egg begins to duplicate and
divide, however, if the fertilized egg splits apart completely in early development, two separate
organisms start to grow creating monozygotic twins or more commonly called, identical twins.
With monozygotic twins, because they split from the same zygote, they share identical genetics.
However, a more common type of twins is dizygotic twins, which occur twice as often in
monozygotic twins. Sometimes more than one ovum is released in a given month and when this
occurs, two sperm fertilize the two ova, which makes two completely different fertilized eggs.
Since dizygotic twins share the same parents, each has half of their genes in common, like any
other sibling.

As stated before, identical twins come from the same zygote which causes them to have the same
genotype. Their genotype is what causes their physical appearance, psychological traits, and more
to be the same. However, nurture always affects nature so the phenotype of the identical twins do
not necessarily have the exact same phenotype. Each twin usually develops their own identities and
personalities which also causes there phenotypes to sometimes be different.
3.When studying twins, researchers mainly study identical twins because they strive to see the
influence of nature and nurture on the traits of these identical twins. One way of doing this is by
splitting the twins up at birth. Obviously, the twins are going to share genotypes and so they are
going to has similar influences of nature, but researcher aim to see if interests, habits, and skills are
influenced more by nature or nurture. By splitting the identical twins up, it is easier to see which
trait is influenced by either nature or

Perfect Gifts and Holiday Cheer Essay
Her feet glide across the sterile white tiles, past the storefront windows that hold red baubles and

Obese couples drag around obese children and even more obese shopping bags, holding plastic

Indians Forced Tribe
The U.S. government used to force Indians to the reservations to live was different from how they
lived. They were forced to be in isolation to only interact and mingle amongst them. This way that
the government forced the Indians to leave was getting tiresome amongst people and they wanted
change. The people wanted allotments of land. According to Webster Dictionary allotment means
an amount of something given to someone to use or have. In this case, the government the
government was giving away land. The reason that the government was giving away land was to
force the Indians to adapt to the American culture. Some of the reasons why this occurred were
because the whites wanted the land. This new plan promised the Indians to become

Jean Pierre Corteggiani From The French Institute Of...
Jean Pierre Corteggiani from the French Institute of Oriental Archeology states that the Nile is
therefore life itself to Egypt. He said that the eastern part of the desert of Sahara would be nothing
without the water supplied by the Nile river. Water was life at the time of the ancient Egyptian
civilization. The source of life of this river comes from the mountains of Ethiopia, 2,000 kilometers
from the Delta. However, between the months of June to September when is storm season, the Nile
river overflows becoming a sea converting nearby cities into islands. Therefore, Egyptians tried
to keep a record of the Nile s first signs of overflow by building Nilometers to measure increases
in the water level. It took 10 years to control the annual overflowing. A thought of that time was
that gods spread blessings all over the river, since the banks of this river gave the pass to
agriculture. As new techniques were developed, so the ancient Egyptian civilization production
increased as well. Nonetheless, the Nile river became the natural route for traders. On the golden
age of ancient Egyptians, pharaohs ruled over those lands. Pharaohs were seen as a god. Touching a
pharaoh could have been punished with the death, since they were sacred. Under their commands,
gigantic pyramids were constructed. However, the logic of the edification of those pyramids and
their builders are still a mystery. All that is known is that the construction of the mausoleum

History Of Ancient Assyrian Tomb With 10 Skeletons...
We are not makers of history. We are made by history. said Martin Luther King Jr. Everyday
history is happening all around us whether we are aware of it or not. History shapes the essence of
humanity, and this is why it is important to understand what has happened in the course of history.
In this essay, I will be discussing significant historical happenings from around the world that have
occurred recently. My first event is from an article entitled, Ancient Assyrian Tomb with 10
Skeletons Discovered in Iraq. written by Owen Jarus. This is about the accidental discovery of a
tomb that held 10 skeletons, and it was located in Erbil, Iraq. These skeletons are believed to be
from the Assyrian Empire. This tomb was built to house the wealthy upper class. More
importantly, the article discusses the importance of this city during the Assyrian time period. This
city, formerly known as Arbela, was located in a fertile area and it also was home to the most
popular temple of Ishtar the Assyrian war goddess. The discovery of these skeletons helps
historians study the culture and understand it more. I... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The current events that are happening now will be in a history textbook one day. History does not
change. What happens in the past stays in the past and it can not be changed, though it can be
repeated. This class has not made me appreciate the past any more or less because I feel like I
am only in the class to take notes and past tests. I feel the same way about history as I did going
into the class. I feel like it is a necessity and it is important, but I am not passionate about the
subject. History does matter because it is how humanity learns from its mistakes and does not
make them again. To put it simply, without history we would not know what types of things work
and don t work. We can use history today for good because we can improve upon our lifestyle,
health, and prosperity by studying the

Gender Stereotypes In Children
At a very young age children are labeled on what it means to be a male and female based on their
gender. This labeling is taught, but also it is something we as humans pick up on. Most of the
time infants start to categorize gender by three months and are fully developed by one and half to
two years old, and labeling by eighteen to twenty months (Hunt, 2016). At about two to three years
old they start to develop the knowledge of roles of men and women hypothetically and start to
stereotype men and women (Hunt, 2016). With the influences such as kid s toys and TV shows it
further reinforces what women and men should do. They develop an ignorance towards gender, and
by playing with and watching gendered things they are learning a misinterpretation... Show more

Thesis Statement Of No Greater Love By Danielle Steel
CONCLUSION
No Greater Love by Danielle Steel is about bearing burden of life. The dissertation work based
on No Greater Love contained the main facts, the everyday life of today s society. Danielle Steel
as the author of the novel put herself at the center of the story, thus guaranteed the work s being so
real, the work mirrors the real world.
Speaking of this work we tried to put our opinion of the hard life writing this dissertation work.
Generally, the thesis contained No Greater Love , its author, major problems, plot, analyzing of
characters and mysteries concerning Titanic. It s obvious that the work is historical fiction, this is
Steel s one of her two novels about Titanic where life becomes heavy burden for heroines caused
by Titanic disaster. As it was mentioned No Greater Love is a historical fiction and we proved it
in the dissertation work, as the part of history is depicted there. Also we got Danielle Steel s letters
concerning this theme, where we again are sure that this novel is the genre of above mentioned.
Historical fiction is always popular in every period of time. The genre itself is very attracting, the
use of this genre in the novel was a success. The other chapter of the novel was dealt with the plot
of the novel. Here is depicted the soul of the novel and dissertation work, in the plot the ... Show

Fashion Blogging is Big Business
Fashion bloggers can earn to hundreds of thousands of dollars per year. And the bulk of the
money isn t necessarily coming from brands paying for ads on their sites; it comes from brands
paying the bloggers to endorse their products in various ways. (The Women s Wear Daily, fashion
industry trade paper)
A clothing label might hire a fashion blogger to style a runway show and tweet and blog about the
project; or to serve as a model in their ad campaigns and post the images on their blog; or to
simply endorse a product the way a celebrity would, by tweeting about it or posting about it on
their site. For such endorsements, brands might pay bloggers different amounts of money. While
many experts say the value of the return on that investment is unclear, some bloggers do have the
power to cause an item to sell out by simply tweeting a link to where followers can buy it.
(Buzzfeed Shift, 2012.)
So...our conclusion is that fashion bloggers have the power (in some case more, in others less)
for influencing the fashion environment. As we have said, a blog is a kind of social media, so
there are lots of messages going around the blogs and on consequence around the world. The main
activity of bloggers is to tell the readers what they like, what their opinion about a product is, why
they like it, or why they don t like it. This is the influence. They add personal and human style to
the brands and products they are posting about. This personal and human style cannot be reached by

Marketing
Philip Kotler, who has died aged 86, dedicated most of his professional life to publishing books

distribution and promotion systems to analyze, explain and predict economic outcomes.
Throughout his career, Philip Kotler has been a consultant to several big companies in the areas of

The Effects Of Monopolies On The Economy Essay
Monopolies People have been doing anything in their power to gain money. Many think they are
leading the competition with doing nothing wrong. Others see it as unfair to do the things that
monopolies have done to society. Lawsuits have been made to stop the ones behind this, but
some monopolies weren t always out to hurt the economy, but to help it. Monopolies have
impacted this economy in the past and even to this day. Way back in 1932, Charles todd and his
wife decided to introduce a new game to some fellow friends. It was a real estate board game.
They sat around playing the game by rolling the dice and buy properties. The couple liked it so
much that they asked Charles if he would make them their own set to play with. Charles began
to show more and more people the game, and then began applying more and more rules to it.
Many began to ask the name of the game, and where it came from. They also asked about the
rules, who had come up with them. Charles had no answer for them. Where it did start was in
1903 from woman named Elizabeth Magie that lived in Washington DC. She spent many late
nights trying to come up with a perfect board game. The main idea she a was going for was a
game that represented current day s political problems. Drawing after drawing she finally had the
game. Elizabeth spoke to the public about her game. The game included buying and selling
railways, houses, hotels, paying taxes, collecting annual income, and if you trespassed on someone

Edward Hopper Analysis
Nighthawks by Edward Hopper is one of my all time favorite paintings and has been a painting I
have enjoyed researching throughout my life because of how much I resonate with this work of
art. This is an astonishing painting, not only in the sense of it being a piece of beautiful art and
art history but because this is a piece that is so significant and loved by so many people around
the world. I would say that even if you have not ever seen the original painting, you have probably
seen it reproduced in different ways in many different places.
The world is bursting with all kinds of versions of this painting. All of these tributes are made
because of how much this painting has resonated with the people who have seen it. The beautiful
composition and the many well used elements in this painting have always intrigued and interested
a countless number of people. I think that Hopper created a piece that truly does resonate with so
many different people.
Edward Hopper expressed his love for art early in his life and was determined to make something
out of himself in the field of art:
Edward Hopper was born in Nyack, New York, a town located on the west side of the Hudson
River, to a middle class family that encouraged his artistic abilities. After graduating from high
school, he studied briefly at the Correspondence School of Illustrating in New York City(1899
1900), and then he enrolled in classes at the New York School of Art (1900 1906). In his shift from

Self Promotion and Celebrity Endorsements of Healthy Lifestyles
In his book Celebrity and Power: Fame in Contemporary Culture, P. David Marshall states The
close scrutiny that is given to celebrities is to accentuate the possibility and potential for
individuals to shape themselves unfettered by the constraints of a hierarchical society (246).
Therefore, celebrities are seen as role models for a lifestyle that might never be fully attainable by
the average person, but can be imitated. What is ironic then is that following a celebrity endorsed
lifestyle does not create individuality, but reduces it. While celebrities endorse products, they also
appear in advertisements which promote a healthy lifestyle where through the abstinence ... Show

Both phrases are denotationally persuasive, letting parent know that following what is said in the
ad will lead to happy children and good parent child relationships. The way to achieve this is by
reading the information, but also buying concert tickets and supporting the band. As well, near the
bottom of the advertisement, the tag line We All Make a Difference appears under the Budweiser
logo. By adding this in, parents can also be persuaded to enjoy the beer responsibly as the company
projects itself through this advertisement as one that is concerned for the health and safety of
children. In all these ways, the linguistic messages of the advertisement go well beyond promoting
the cause, but also promote the celebrity endorsers, and in this case, the product which the
advertisement is deterring children from.
The iconic messages in the advertisement are also at work to achieve the cross promotional
result. The non coded Budweiser logo works in conjunction with the tag line We All Make a
Difference as discussed above, to promote the brand of beer. What is more interesting however,
is the use of the band s image as a coded message. Each of the five band members are looking

  • 2. The Tell Tale Heart Vs The Black Cat In The Tell Tale heart and The Black Cat there are many similarities from the murder and the motive of the killer. The man in The Black Cat is irritated and cannot stand to look at the cat or animals, he feels compelled to harm them much like the man in The Tell Tale Heart feels towards the man s grey eye. These things is what the murderers claim drove them to commit the crime. Neither of the cator old man had hurt the perpetrators in anyway, in fact both the men in The Black Catand The Tell Tale Heart cared for the very things they had killed. There was no reason for what I did. I did not hate the old man; I even loved him. He had never hurt me. The Tell Tale Heart and in the alcohol crazed killer in The Black Cat says ... • 3. Blue Player Research Paper This means the second shift must be either a pair with the third Red player and a Gold player or the pair with the two Gold players. Which do you choose? At first blush, you would think the Red/Gold pair would make the most sense, and all other matters being equal, it is the right choice and the normal rotation. Nevertheless, maybe we should look deeper. Looking ahead, if you cannot obtain four rotations, whom will the penalized Blue player skate with when he comes out of the box? In our example that normally would be Gold 1 and Gold 2. Are you comfortable with him on that mixed line? What positions will everyone on the line play? If you like what you see, tell your assistant coach to follow Red 1 and Red 2 with Red 3 and Gold 3 and then Gold... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If the puck is in our end, having him skate to the bench extends the power play and that is unacceptable. However, it is also unacceptable to have him go into the play and have three defensemen with no one certain as to what their responsibilities are. Keep it simple and do not change the process. Go back to SECOND in our prior example and treat the defenseman as if he is a forward. He will play a role customary for a forward until a play stoppage or the puck comes out of our end and we change on the fly. As an example, since kids normally play better on the same wing they shoot from, if the defenseman shoots right handed, think of him as a right wing. I have also had success with a defenseman coming out of the box to play center if there were three rotations. In our normal defensive system in the defensive zone, the center plays low and helps the defense. There is a regular rotation between defense and center. Therefore, our defensemen are comfortable playing center for this limited purpose in our end. This may not work for you if you use a different defensive scheme. Either way, make sure all know what the plan is. Again, we are not looking for three rotations, but we are planning in case it ends up that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Life Of Constantine, A Roman Emperor Of The Roman Empire The life of Constantine, a Roman emperor from 306 to 337 AD, is explained by two different accounts that differ from each other. The first one that was written by Eusebius in 337 AD states that Constantine is a victorious, pious emperor who helps others and orders the construction of sacred places to honor Christ. The second account was written in 520 AD by Zosimus and it states that Constantine is an impious, arrogant and selfish emperor who is responsible of the Roman Empires collapse. Eusebius, a bishop, wrote a eulogy to honor Constantine upon his death in 337 AD. He pays his respect to Constantine by stating all, indeed, with one voice and one mouth, declared that Constantine had appeared by the grace of God as a general blessing to mankind. In this statement, Eusebius clearly emphasizes the importance that Constantine has in the Romans life, and how they all agree that in fact he is a good influence for the Romans. He also considers him as the victorious, the pious, the common benefactor who helps people and worships God. Others characteristics about Constantine s personality are depicted by Eusebius such as Constantine s ambition and his goal oriented mind. He s goal oriented personality is depicted when the author states, (...) at the same time granting ample supplies of money, and commanding that the house of prayer worthy of the worship of God should be erected near the Saviour s tomb on a scale of rich and royal greatness. In this statement, is clearly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Goals For Breakaways The first thing that must be noted about Breakaway is its non profit and religious worldview. Goals for Breakaway will be much different than that of a corporation of for profit organizations. Their communication style will be different. As Chung Ming, McDaniel, and Busenitz insist, religious organizations in particular have a chief goal; and that is church growth. They define growth in terms of attendance and spiritual growth, measured with Likert scales. Olsen portrays the goals of The Church of JesusChrist of Latter day Saints as three responsibilities: to increase positive worldwide public awareness of the church; to help people better understand the church, its members, and beliefs; and to join with others to build bridges of friendship and understanding (1). This aspect of religious communication will have wide effects on how money is collected and spent, what is expected from... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Waters, Friedman, Mills, and Zeng discuss two way communication on religious organization s websites. Their idea of Dialogic communication is labeled as assurances. Assurances consist of feedback areas, working emails, and online stores and donation options. The results of their research confirmed that religious websites have very little opportunities for audiences to voice their opinions back to the organizations in question. This article about relational management theory concludes that, Failing to assure Web site visitors that their concerns and comments were wanted can damage existing relationships with churchgoers and others who visit the Web site before physically going to the religious organization (99). While these authors offer no reasoning as to a real why this phenomena occurs, Ionia offers the opinion that non profits may not be as technologically advanced due to their lack of funds and staff. Their heads down unaware of the world around them. These zombies are either focused on the latest text, tweet, or email, and cannot be bothered by humans. In today s word smartphones are creating modern day zombies by controlling them, just like how zombies are being controlled by their disease. Throughout the years a cellphone meant a portable phone to communicate, In 1973 Matty Copper made the very first phone call ( Wall street Journal. 2013 ) The main use of a cellphone was to only make a call or to text, as years passed cellphones then upgraded, and included various types of apps where people can use social media such as Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter to communicate with friends and family. Not only can the phone tell the weather but people can use it to pay for stuff, and people can use the internet on the go.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When people wake up the first thing they check on is their cellphone and it is also probably the last thing they see before they fall asleep. It has even seemed that the smartphone is controlling humans today. In the research paper, Are mobile phones the 21st century addiction? The authors assess the various kinds of behavior based on cellphones, and argues that smartphone use could possibly be the biggest non drug addiction now a day. Because a smartphone provides so many things instantly on demand, it is clearly an amazing piece of technology. • 11. Analysis Of The House Of Mirth By Lara Saltz Selden, in The House of Mirth, is a character that is part of the Elite class, but that doesn t allow the constraints of the elites shadow his vision. In her essay, Lara Saltz argues Selden is able to see real, poetic Lily because he possesses both an acute eye for what is materially in front of him (Saltz 1). She continues on with this thesis, arguing that Selden posses a balance between realism and imagination, that allows him to see the real Lily, during her performance of Sir Joshua Reynold s pain, Mrs Lloyd. Evidence in the novel showing that Selden can see past the illusions of high life, can be seen in Lily realizing that Selden is detached from the social world, the discussion of love between Lily and Selden and Lily s final confrontation of Selden and subsequent death. These three pieces of evidence support Saltz s assertion that Selden can see things for what they really are due to his ability to balance realism and imagination. The first, being Lily s observation that Selden is detached from the social class. The party, being thrown by Mrs. Trenor, is the stage in which Lily discovers that Selden is detached from social class. The entire affair, starts with Lily being asked to help, it seems, to plan the weeding. during this planning, it is discovered that Mrs. Trenor has scheduled the party in conflict with another character s own party. The California Drought and the Proper Allocation of Water Resources Intro: The state of California is in the midst of a five year drought. The results of which are beginning to reek havoc on the state s municipalities, farms and wetland habitats. If the state continues as is supporting in thirsty agricultural industries, towns and cities at current levels, not only will this exacerbate already tenuous water supply problem within the state it will have ripple affects throughout the South West. Surrounding states will have to adopt even more stringent restriction for farms, cities and industries which may have further calamitous economic results. However, the most difficult questions like proper allocation or modifying water rights have yet to be answered and likely will not be resolved before California s water situation worsens. Last April standing in front of a snowpack at just 5% of normal levels, Governor Jerry Brown declared the drought in California has reached a crisis level and instituted state wide water restriction for towns, cities and municipalities. He called for a 25% reduction of water usage by urging Californians flush less, take shorter showers, and let lawns turn brown. Although agriculture accounts for roughly 80% (Northern California Water Association) of all human consumption of water this industry was exempted any restriction by the governor. The Roman Catholic church was created when the Eastern and Western churches divided in 1054, with the Roman Catholic church coming from the Western church (Matlins). Coming from a Methodist background, I found Roman Catholicism interesting because out of the various Christian denominations Roman Catholicism appeared to differ the greatest from the Protestant and Orthodox sectors of Christianity(Brodd). There were greeters at the entrance of the Cathedral making everyone feel welcomed and passing out bulletins. I was amazed by the intricacy of the inside of the cathedral! The ceiling of the cathedral reminded me of the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel by Michelangelo. Before the service started, I awed at the ceiling and the stained glass windows. The stained glass windows were vibrant in color and intricate in design. Throughout the cathedral there were statues of various important Christian figures. I assumed that the statues were either of Jesus, the Virgin Mary, various saints, or individuals from the Old Testament because Matlins and Magida discuss how these statues are prominent in Roman Catholic cathedrals (Matlins). I know for a fact that one of the statues was indeed Jesus because it was a statue of him hanging on the cross. People, past and present, are bound to the social customs and expectations that are tied to where they live. Authors throughout history have used this fact to symbolize conflicting mindsets or ideas. Kate Chopins novel, The Awakening, demonstrates this metaphor perfectly. Through her characterEdna vacationing on the Grand Isle, then returning to her old life in New Orleans, Chopin exemplifies how location is extremely impactful on one s life and represents the conflict within. The Awakening begins on the Grand Isle where Edna Pontellier and her family are vacationing. While there, Edna meets Robert Lebrun, and she feels a special connection to Robert. Her time on the island s beach only intensifies her attraction towards Robert as her more erotic side shines through. As previously stated, the clause provides that representation in Congress will be based on the whole number of free persons and three fifths of all other persons (Article 1 section 2 clause 3) which referred to the slaves. According to Erik M. Jensen, professor of law, the popular misunderstanding in regards to this provision is that it did not declare that African American slaves were three fifths of a person but rather the provision was declaring that the slave states would get extra representation in Congress for their slaves, even though those states treated slaves only as property. Ultimately, this provision was not really about race but rather about status and political power for the states. Something that some might not know is that free blacks were not counted in the same way as slaves were. They were counted in the same way as all white men. (The Root) The reason for this is because the clause did not say that a slave was three fifth of a person also, the clause had nothing that involved free blacks. Instead, the clause gave us a mathematical formula for the allocation of representatives in congress that factored in slave population. The microbial fuel cell generates energy with the help of microbes that makes it green future source of energy. In MFC, anaerobic microbes degrade organic matter and produce hydrogen ions (H+) and electrons (e ) at the anode. H+ ion diffuses through the proton exchange membrane (PEM); and e are transported through an electrode via an external circuit to the cathode. At a cathode, e and H+ ions combine with oxygen to form water (H2O), this results in power generation [1]. • 36. Digital And Digital Immigrants By Marc Presky The article Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants by Marc Presky, appears in the book On the Horizon. The article asserts that due to the the anacrusis of the digital age, this generation has changed dramatically, thus, it is no longer possible to reach them through obsolete teaching methods, as it comes close to teaching them in a foreign language. In order to solve this issue, Presky suggests that we need to update our methodology in order to fit today s needs better. In the beginning of the article, Prensky implies that student have changed dramatically, thus, are no longer the correct audience for our education system. He goes on by explaining that this change is not exactly a diversification, as in clothes, slang or the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants. Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants. Page. 2 2001) instead of sending them an email (Prensky, Mark. Digital Natives, Digital Immigrants. Page. 2 2001). Prensky complicates this matter when he embeds it into school routine. He endorses that to digital natives it feels like they are being taught by foreigners who have no wrap their head around English language yet. However, this is a dilemma that only starts, rather than ends, at the lack of communication. By introducing another example, he disputes that there is also a quarrel in the way of thinking in general. Digital natives, for example, believe that studying should be fun and could easily be done, while, for example, watching TV. This Digital Immigrants, however, deny up to this day; simply because they were not capable of doing all those things, while they were young. He then reminds us that, in spite of prevailing belief, one cannot simply presume that students function the same way their teachers did when they were in school. As a result of this, he enters the debate whether students should go back to their old ways or if teachers should have to learn this new language (Prensky, Mark. Digital Natives, Digital ... An example of a person who has helped successful people get off their feet. James Dill, the founder of CT, allegedly is the person that laid down the foundation for the incorporation law ( CT Sponsors 2015 Small Business Week. ). They are associated with the SBA, also known as the Small BusinessAssociation. CT Corporation offered a convention like event about recognizing small business and their contributions to America. These conventions date back to 1963 ( CT Sponsors 2015 Small Business Week. ). Certain traits help small businesses become successful, such as, persistence, confidence, fearlessness, and passion. This skill is something everybody needs if success is wanted; that skill would be persistence. Persistence is a good skill to have because it means having a will to continue an action even when obstacles get in the way. Henry Ford tried making a 4 wheel vehicle mainly running on ethanol. After failing his attempted on the car, Henry invented the model T as part of his Ford Motor Company (Kaufman). Even when Henry failed, he kept trying new idea until he got what he wanted. • 38. The Different Forms Of Government, Friendship, Trust, And... Within Aquinas political writings, he shows us the six different forms of government and the reason why some are better than others. Government was created not just for organization but so people can come together to form a community. A community works best when the governing only want well being for the governed. Aquinas not only compares the different forms of governmentby showing their benefits and drawbacks, but also argues about the supremacy of a monarchy, and how it s the best form of government. The purpose of government is to look out for the well being of the community so that it can keep all the basic values of human nature like religion, friendship, trust, and prosperity. Aquinas states that government is to serve the people while taking into account peace and unity because the good and wellbeing of a community united in fellowship lies in the preservation of its unity (p 10). He explains that without fellowship there can be no unity and that we can find fellowship through trust and well being. Peace gives community a sense of harmony through nonviolence and the freedom from war. We find that government can be broken down into six different regimes, each having a different way of ruling and a different objective. Each are different in ways yet some worse than others. Aquinas describes each regime with a certain sense of reality and gives us an idea of what the rulers are like within each government. There are six forms of government; all compose of ... C++ is a general purpose programming language that runs programs using memory management. Two operating system environments are commonly used in compiling, building and executing C++ applications. These are the windows and UNIX / Linux (or some UNIX / Linux derivative) operating system. In this paper we will explore the implementation of memory management, processes and threads. Other functions need to be used to segment the virtual memory pages into useful segments. Since virtual memory is allocated by pages, a number of special paging features can be used on virtual memory that cannot be used on other types of memory. For instance, pages can be locked (to prevent read/write access), or they can be protected from any particular access mode (read, write, execute). Heap memory and allocating a memory block Each program is provided with a default process heap, but a process may optionally allocate any number of additional heaps, if more storage is needed. The heap functions will manage their virtual memory usage automatically, and therefore heaps can be set to grow if they are being filled up with data. If a heap is allowed to grow automatically, the heap functions will automatically allocate additional pages as needed. On the x86 architecture the heap grows in size towards higher memory addresses. To use heap memory, a heap must first be allocated (or a handle must be obtained to the default heap). Once you have obtained a handle to a heap, you can pass that handle to the memory allocation functions, to allocate memory from that particular heap. Managing process specific memory The cpu executes a large number of programs while its main concern is the excution of uer programs, the cpu is also needed for other system activities. Today, more than fourteen hundred types of cheese exist, each with a distinct taste. (Thompson, 2007)The manufacturing of cheese is through several processes that are, pasteurization, adding additives, milk ripening and coagulation, curdtreatment and finally cheeseripening. (Goff, 1995) PH monitoring, along with the casein to moisture ratio, is the most important step that determines cheese texture. Certain cheese varieties, such as Swiss, Gouda and Cheshire cheese exhibit a narrower range of pH as compared to Cheddar cheese. Starter cultures are used to achieve the desired pH needed for fermentation. In order to reach the optimum pH, the temperature, content of lactose and the products produced during fermentation are closely monitored. This stage of the cheese making process is called ripening. (Ardo Waagner, 2011). The minimum pH used for the production of different types of cheese is given in the graph below. (Ardo Waagner, 2011) Camembert, Feta and Danablu are low pH cheese varities, where as, Cheddar cheese utilizes a medium minimum pH. High pH cheese varieties include Mozzarella, Tilsiter, Havarti, Gouda, Danbo and the Emmental groups. • 43. Rationalization As The Development Of Western Society And... Rationalization is a process whereby traditional meanings, values and the mode of thought are replaced by modern rational ones. Weber sees the development of rationalization as the development of Western society and modern culture. Individuals become more concerned with achieving materialistic goals by rational means and by calculating and weighing up all the possible outcomes. In addition to rationalization, Weber also saw the disenchantment of the world, in which science and rationality are more highly valued than belief. It is the devaluation of mysticism and the cultural rationalization, mainly apparent in modern Western societies. Through this rationalization process, Weber sees an increasing trend towards secularization, bureaucratization and modernization. For Weber, traditional society was one where the world remains a great enchanted garden . (The University of Winchester, 2014) He regarded these traditional forms as irrational or at least non rational. This is because they rely on superstition and magic as a way of explaining the social world and have no methodical forms of development, but are based on emotions, feelings and personal insights. The view that rationalization leads to an increasing trend towards secularization is supported by Wilson (1966), who defines this concept as a process in which religious ways of thinking, practices and institutions lose significance in modernity. This can be seen in statistics on church attendance. According to Human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Alcohol is one of the most significant problems among African Americans and leads to more violence, abuse, isolation and social consequences among black women when compared to white women (Donatelle, 2003). African Americans tend to have more of an alcohol problem as a population whole compared to whites but tend to consume less alcohol overall (Donatelle, 2004). Excessive, long term alcohol intake can lead to enhanced risk of developing cancer, a damaged central nervous system and harmful effects to the cardiovascular system (Donatelle, 2004). Since African Americans are already at more risk for developing cancer and cardiovascular disease, alcohol would enhance the risk of developing these disease and thus would reduce their overall health. This fertilized egg begins to duplicate and divide, however, if the fertilized egg splits apart completely in early development, two separate organisms start to grow creating monozygotic twins or more commonly called, identical twins. With monozygotic twins, because they split from the same zygote, they share identical genetics. However, a more common type of twins is dizygotic twins, which occur twice as often in monozygotic twins. Sometimes more than one ovum is released in a given month and when this occurs, two sperm fertilize the two ova, which makes two completely different fertilized eggs. He said that the eastern part of the desert of Sahara would be nothing without the water supplied by the Nile river. Water was life at the time of the ancient Egyptian civilization. The source of life of this river comes from the mountains of Ethiopia, 2,000 kilometers from the Delta. However, between the months of June to September when is storm season, the Nile river overflows becoming a sea converting nearby cities into islands. Therefore, Egyptians tried to keep a record of the Nile s first signs of overflow by building Nilometers to measure increases in the water level. It took 10 years to control the annual overflowing. A thought of that time was that gods spread blessings all over the river, since the banks of this river gave the pass to agriculture.
