Writing an essay on the topic of "Essay of Advertisement" can be a challenging task that
demands a comprehensive understanding of advertising, its various forms, and its impact on
society. Crafting an effective essay requires a blend of creativity, analytical skills, and a deep
insight into the dynamics of the advertising industry.
One of the difficulties lies in the vastness of the subject. Advertisement is a multifaceted
concept that encompasses diverse mediums, strategies, and purposes. To do justice to the topic,
one must delve into the historical evolution of advertising, explore the psychological aspects
behind its effectiveness, and critically analyze the ethical considerations associated with different
advertising techniques. This broad scope can be overwhelming for writers, making it challenging
to strike a balance between depth and conciseness.
Moreover, staying relevant in a rapidly evolving landscape poses another hurdle. Advertising
trends, consumer behavior, and technological advancements continually reshape the field.
Keeping abreast of the latest developments while maintaining a timeless perspective adds an
extra layer of complexity to the writing process.
Creating a compelling essay on advertising also involves navigating the fine line between
critique and appreciation. It's essential to acknowledge the positive aspects of advertising, such
as its role in economic growth and informing consumers, while addressing its potential pitfalls,
like manipulative tactics and the perpetuation of unrealistic standards.
In addition, finding a unique angle or a fresh perspective on a topic that has been extensively
discussed can be challenging. Originality in thought and expression is crucial to captivate the
reader's attention and distinguish the essay from countless others on similar subjects.

Analysis Of The Article The Other Hand
In the other hand, the article argues about software that,
Licensing fees are a significant disadvantage of Windows, as they are based on the
number of users. Windows licenses (Server plus Exchange) cost around $100 per
user. Mac server, by contrast, allows unlimited numbers of users on a single license,
and the license comes free with the server.
Windows workstations can be connected to Mac servers, so using a Mac server could
considerably reduce both licensing and administration costs. UNIX and Linux
licenses are free, as is much of the applications software.
The table below, from Prince McLean at Apple Insider, demonstrates acquisition
cost savings of $25,489, or around 85%, by using a Mac OS server instead of
Windows. That s for 100 users. For the 10 and 25 user options in the table, using
SBS would cut the Windows licensing costs by nearly half, but Mac OS still comes

Gun Controls And Gun Control
Americans are faced with a big issue of violence in the streets, these streets where
elderly people are beaten for their money and women are attacked and raped. Sadly,
some people believe that the best way to deal with these violent occurrences is to
pass gun control laws that take away legally owned guns from everyone. Not only
does gun control end up disarming the innocent but it also violates the Second
Amendment. By taking away guns from the American citizens, whom the Second
Amendment bestowed onto us this act violates our rights. Unfortunately for those
who have legally armed themselves for self defense, gun control would eventually
strip away their ability to fend for themselves. Gun control will also end up causing
a rise in crime. By taking away arms from good law abiding citizens and leaving
them defenseless, it makes things much easier for criminals by knowing that their
victims are not armed. Although the gun ban would take away guns from stores, a
criminal will find a way to get their hands on one, imagine that. Gun controls are
taking away our rights as citizens. If a law abiding citizen happens to enjoy
hunting, they will lose that right. Gun controls are also taking away weapons from
citizens. Gun control is not having a positive effect on America because it violates
the second amendment, takes away rights and it won t reduce the crime rate. A well
regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the

The Last Samurai
If the devil is in the details, then there was plenty of devil inThe Last Samurai. As
director Edward Zwick explains, hisdecision to commit the film to historically
accurate visuals at anepic like scale meant an almost unending research and
logisticalmanagement project for him and his collaborators. At the end of theday,
everything combined to directly impact the look and feel of hismovie.
We had to build roads and buildings, he says. We had to havediscussions about such
things as whether it s better to load actorsinto buses out of costume, or have them
wear their samurai armor, meaning we would have to physically remove seats from
the bus and renta second bus. Which was the more efficient way to do it removeseats
and hire another bus and driver, or dress the actors on location?People don t talk
about it much, but there is a moment on every film ofthis scale when logistics affect
creativity, and it s the director sresponsibility to mitigate that. I m very pleased with
this movie, butI ll admit, there were times while making it when I thought my

3 Big Reasons Why You Can t Move On From a Broken Heart By Susan Russo Mar
31, 2013 A man s life is what his thoughts make of it. Marcus Aurelius There are a
lot of reasons why we can t move on from heartache. But what I have come to find
to be the main reasons will blow your mind. Many people feel that their situation is
causing their pain, and to some degree they re right. If it weren t for this
excruciating experience you wouldn t be experiencing the pain. Well, yes and no.
The yes is; of course you are going to feel a whole heck of a lot of negative emotions
that can plague your every waking hour when going through a divorce or breakup.
This is normal. Yes, the pain isn t only real it seems like it becomes who you are.
And, yes these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But as you are moving through the process the three factors that will help you
move on sooner rather than later are what I have come to find are the top 3 reasons
that people either do or don t move on from a broken heart. 1.Your Thoughts! Let
me break this down for you. Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts
determine how you feel and how you feel will be how you experience anything
you are going through. Your thoughts can make you or break you. They can make
heaven out of hell or hell out of heaven. 2.Your Thoughts! We think some 60,000
thoughts a day and most of them go unnoticed. Our thoughts are like a broken
record playing in our minds. And many of these thoughts are negative, limiting and
depressing. We go over and over, why, what if and if only. We relive conversations,
scenarios and replay them as if we were Steven Spielberg editing his next
blockbuster. But the only block that is getting busted is your head! 3.Your Thoughts!
If you learn how to flip the destructive thoughts to the kinds of thoughts that will
serve you and pull you up instead of dragging you down, you will have the number
one key that can change everything. Change the way you look at things and the

Why Is Ma Rainey Important
Gertrude Ma Rainey is a pivotal figure in the history of American music. She was the
first person to ever perform blues and the first internationally known African
American female blues singer. Her music acted as inspiration for many distinguished
figures during the Harlem Renaissance, and continues to influence contemporary
music and art.
A single source of blues music cannot be traced, but Ma Rainey is rightfully credited
with introducing it to the world. Hence the reason she was dubbed as The Mother
of the Blues . During an interview in the 1930s, Ma told musicologist John Work,
that she heard what would be called blues, for the first time around 1902. She was
in a small town in Missouri working a show at the time, and one morning a local
girl came into the tent singing about a man whom had left her. This new style of
soulful music drew in Ma Rainey so much she later had the girl teach her the song.
Rainey performed the song as an encore in a show soon after, earning a special place
in the show, and marking the start of her career (Jas Obrecht Archive).
Gertrude Pridgett was born in 1986 to tent performers Thomas Pridgett Sr. and Ella
Allen Pridgett. Both were said to had traveled around the south performing minstrel
shows, which was the most popular form of live comedy entertainment from 1840 to
the early nineteenth century (Biography.com). Because of her parents involvement,
Gertrude had always been surrounded by show business and always had a love for
singing and
Plane Crash Of A Cessna Citation 550
Introduction This paper examines the plane crash of a Cessna Citation 550 which
impacted into lake Michigan shortly after takeoff. We will examine the flight crew
involved, flight information, crash details, and the accident investigations about the
crash. On further analyzing crashes like this one, we should have a better
understanding on how CRM (crew resource management) and good flight practices
can make flights safer.
History of the Crew There are many factors to take into account when a plane crash
occurs, one of those is the crew and how they performed before the crash occurred.
Crashes can happen to a young pilot as well as a seasoned veteran, so we need to
find out if the history of the captain and the first officer can lead to more conclusions
as to how this crash occurred.
Captain
The captain of the aircraft, as many individuals know, is the person who is
ultimately responsible for the safety of the passengers, crew, as well as the
aircraft. That being said the captain or chief pilot should have a good overall
background to go along with many hours of flight time. The captain, age 59, was
hired by Marlin Air as a line pilot on February 21, 2005. Marlin Air designated him
as the company s chief pilot and then, on August 15, 2005, he was appointed by the
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as Marlin Air s check airman in Cessna
Citation 500/550 airplanes. He held a multi engine airline transport pilot (ATP)
certificate with ratings in the Citation 500, 550,

Korean Pop
Korea had become trendy because it provided what the youth wanted throughout the
region. The phenomenon can be partially explained by noting how Korean popular
culture catapulted forward during the 1990s, leaving much of Asia behind as it
abandoned conservatism and censorship, diversifying, appropriating, absorbing and
innovating. In its fusions, it created an Asian equivalent of European and American
pop. Japanese pop, of course, had long had this function throughout the region, but
the 1990s was a time for re examining the Pacific War s legacy, and Korea offered a
less tainted alternative to Japan. Keith Howard Background of the StudyThe global

who always stalk (in Korean pop vocabulary, *spazz) their Korean pop idols. They
are usually thought of as obsessive, brainless and foolish people. People who
criticize them just do not know how passionate these fandoms are. Although they

The Development of Attachment Essay
The Development of Attachment 1. Outline the development of attachment
According to Shaffer, the development of attachment can be divided into four main
phases. Other researchers have then added two additional stages to this original
theory.
В· Pre Attachment Phase from birth to 3 months. From 6 weeks the baby develops an
attraction to other humans, especially adults in preference to other objects. This can
be illustrated through social behaviours like gurgling, reaching out and smiling.
В· Indiscriminate Attachment Phase from 3 to 7 months. The infant begins to show
preference for familiar over un familiar people. However, a stranger looking at them
will not cause too much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Infants are considered to be attached to someone when they display the following:
В· Distress at separation
В· Preferring the company of this one individual
В· Seeking this person at times of stress.
There are many recognized theories of attachment, each outlining in many different
ways exactly why a child will become attached to a certain adult. I am going to
outline two of these explanations in more detail.
Cupboard Love Theory Sigmund Freud
Incorporating the psychoanalytic and behaviourist explanations.
At the turn of the century, the treatment of new born babies was regarded as having
little significance for later life, as babies were thought to be immune to influence.
This idea, like many others prevalent at that time, was attacked by Sigmund Freud.
He believed that the relationship a child has with its mother is a prototype on which
all future relationships are based.
According to Freud s psychoanalytic theory a child becomes attached to its mother
because she is its source of food; hence she gratifies its most basic instinctual and
psychological needs. Freud states that the primary drive is for food and as the
mother is associated with food, she becomes desired by the infant in her own right. In
the normal course of growing up, the child comes to accept that this psychosexual
relationship can not be, and as

Analysis of Robert Frost s Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening is a very well know poem by Robert
Frost. The poem appears to be very simple, but it has a hidden meaning to it. The
simple words and rhyme scheme of the poem gives it an easy flow, which adds to
the calmness of the poem. The rhyme scheme (aaba, bbcb, ccdc, dddd) and the
rhythm (iambic tetrameter) give the poem a solid structure. The poem is about the
speaker s experience of stopping by the dark woods in the winter evening with his
horse and admiring the beauty of the fresh fallen snow in the forest. Then, the speaker
projects himself into the mind of his horse, speculating about his horse s practical
concerns and the horse ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
why he stopped, may be he doesn t know himself. May be, he is comparing the
beauty of nature to something, but on a symbolic level, the snow strongly reminds
me that the poem is set in winter, and which is also widely represented as the image
of death.
In the second stanza, I see that the speaker wonders about what his horse is thinking
which shows his interests are also in the outside world too, like his horse. He also
takes certain pleasure seeing the scene from what he imagines to be his horse s
perspective. I think his horse is practical in nature, he thinks, while the speaker sits
there dreaming, watching the snow fill up the woods. He just stands there
dreaming, and thinking about his horse s feelings is the one thing that brings him
back to reality. Death comes again in the typical image of night, as we re told this
is the darkest evening of the year. Also, it can either be taken literally as the most
lightless night, or it can be taken as the night of the darkest emotions. I think that it is
a combination of the two, a dark moonless winter night in which the speaker
experiences some form of depression or loneliness.
In the third stanza, the speaker is brought back to reality. He s still drawn to the
scene, evidenced by the way he notes the quietness of the country after hearing the
harness bells shake. Although he s considered the needs of his horse to take journey
towards home, he can t easily draw himself away from the beauty of the
Student Readiness And Academic Achievement

Rebecca L. Mullins

July 2016
While all forms of parental involvement in a child s education are recognized for their
individual importance and merit, for the purposes of this study, we are particularly
interested in parental involvement as it relates to academic achievement and school
readiness of first time Kindergarten students. We acknowledge that despite empirical
evidence substantiating parental involvement as the primary predictor of school
readiness and academic achievement, other variables come into play such as socio
economic status, family structure (i.e. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Can mothers truly have the best of both worlds? And can we assume that if parental
involvement is the key factor in a child being school ready, can we also assume that
a working mom just won t offer her children the same number of quality early
experiences as that of a stay at home mom? These are just a few of the questions
surrounding this topic, and we attempt to answer some of them in this study.
However, we must first explore the research that speaks to the imperative role of
parental involvement and its direct relationship to academic achievement and school
readiness in children, namely children entering Kindergarten for the first time.
A considerable body of literature exists to support the theory that parental
involvement in children s education during pre Kindergarten years has a direct,
positive impact on childhood development and academic achievement. (El Nokali,
Bachman, Votruba Drzal, 2010; Fan Chen, 2001; Hill Chao, 2009; Seginer, 2006).
Parental involvement in a child s early education can take many shapes and forms
including one or all of the following: parental attitudes toward education, parental
behaviors to prepare children for school experiences, educational expectations of
parents, etc. (Seginer, 2006). In the industries of pediatrics and education, we often
hear the child s brain referred to as a sponge . This is because 90% of a child s brain

Conrad applies an apparently crystal clear literary narrative technique in the tradition

masterpieces, it is a brilliantly depicting an ironic narrative of London s seedy and

There are many political factors that can affect not only the supermarket industry in
the UK but any kind of business in the UK, those issues can be summarised in the
following factors:
The possibility of UK leaving the European Union
One of the main recent political factors that will have a big impact on the UK
supermarket industry is the possibility of UK leaving the European Union that
might becomes a definitive decision after the June 2016 election. This decision
might change the entire UK supermarket industry operations because of the big
number of goods that have been imported from the European Union with a free tax
because of the European Union free zone trade. Therefore, the withdrawal of the UK
from the European Union will cause a big rise in the prices of the imported products
and materials from the European Union, as a result of the increase of the import tax
that was zero when the UK used to follow the European Union regulations.

Christianity And Christianity In Beowulf
Even though Christianity has been around for quite some time, not all Christians
really act uniformly. And so it goes with Christianity with the early Icelandic and
Anglo Saxon peoples. Since all of their literature was written by Christian monks, the
stories and sagas have Christian spins on them. Beowulf, one of the major texts to be
referenced here, was written down after the Anglo Saxon conversion to
Christianity and has many Christian quips written in it, even though the story was
transmitted orally long before the conversion. It contains no information on what
the Anglo Saxons were like pre conversion and whether or not Christianity actually
changed the ways their society operated. Njal s Saga, on the other hand, has the
narrative of Iceland s conversion embedded within it. This lends for a better
examination of the people before and after the incident. Even with the evidence of
the conversion of the country, though, it can seem hard to determine how
Christianity changed the then current Icelandic culture. To shape the idea of how
biblical Christianity works, Ephesians 4:22 24 gives a good idea of how
somebody should behave post conversion. It says, You were taught, with regard to
your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its
deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the
new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (NIV). Once a

Age Of The Enlightenment
At the start of the eighteenth century intellectual leaders attempted to understand why
what had been done in natural science could not be done in social science. The
Enlightenment has been defined in many different ways, but its broadest was a
philosophical, intellectual and cultural movement of the eighteenth century. The
leaders wanted logic to be included in a worldwide since such as used in history,
politics, jurisprudence, and economics. The Enlightenment preferred to see humanity
as capable of creating its own moral code in order to help create a rational mind. The
Enlightenment also pioneered in applying scientific methods to the study of human
society, sketching the modern social sciences. The basic ideals were the rational laws

The way the world works now is all based off the Enlightenment. By furthering
development in the arts, philosophy, religion, and politics the Enlightenment has
furthered our research and ideals. It produced a set of basic principles about human
affairs. Humans beings are naturally good and can be educated to be better, (The Age
Of The Enlightenment). Enlightenment thinkers attacked the Catholic church with
particular vigor. Progress was possible, even inevitable, if people could be set free.
Society s goals should center on improvements in material and social life. In culture,
the aftermath of the scientific revolution spilled over into a new movement known as
the Enlightenment, centered particularly in France but with adherents throughout the
Western world. Enlightenment thinkers continued to support scientific advance.
While there were no Newton like breakthroughs, chemists gained new understanding
of major elements and biologists developed a vital new classification system for the
natural species (The Enlightenment P.1). Enlightenment thinkers showed great
interest in technological change, for greater prosperity was a valid and achievable
goal. Coercion and cruelty could be corrected, for the Enlightenment encouraged a
humanitarian outlook that was applied in condemnations of slavery and war. The
Enlightenment, summing up and extending earlier intellectual changes, became an
important force for political and social reform. It did not rule unchallenged. Important
popular religious movements, such as Methodism in England, showed the continued
power of spiritual faith. Many writers, particularly those experimenting with the novel
as a new literary form in the West, rebelled against Enlightenment rationality to urge
the importance of sentimentality and emotion. These approaches,
The Importance Of Hate Speech On The Internet

But the freedom of expression on the internet is subject to certain limitations. The
Internet is not devoid of different forms of deviant behavior (such as hate speech),
which incite discrimination, hatred or violence against groups or individuals on the
basis of their personal attributes. The anonymity and mobility provided by the
Internet has made harassment and expressions of hate effortless and undetectable.
Hate speech on the Internet is a growing problem for the United States and Japan
because it is targeting individuals on the basis of personal characteristics. Brown
(2017) argues that cyberhate has three different qualities: anonymity in the sense that
individuals are not compelled to reveal aspects of their offline identity unless they
wish to do so; invisibility there is a physical distance between speaker and audience;
instantaneousness provides people with almost instantaneous publishing. The
justification for promoting speech is founded on a concern for the facilitation of
discourse democracy, while the rationale for preventing harm is based on a concern
for human dignity.
Koontz (2017) cites the case of City of Yokosuka v. Lee Sin as an example that
Japan needs to redraft the act in order to redefine hate speech on

Reflection On The Odyssey
Odyssey Reflection POLI 283: Model United Nations was the most fulfilling
Odyssey project that I have experienced during my time at Hendrix, on both a
personal and academic basis. Preparing for the AMUN conference using a
semester s worth of simulations and research has facilitated growth in multiple
areas of my life, and the experiential component in Chicago was highly rewarding in
its own right. Serving as a representative from the Republic of Indonesia to the
Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific vastly improved my
ability to work with a partner and to organize large groups of people. This Odyssey
experience also increased my confidence as a public speaker, broadened my area of
study within the International Relations department, and has introduced me into a
close knit group of teammates who share my interests and passions. While my
studies have often required me to work with my peers toward the completion of a
project over complex issues such as the Syrian refugee crisis and time travel,
nothing I experienced prior to Model UN forced me to truly work in synthesis with
others. In my former pursuits, the nature of my assignments has allowed me to
compartmentalize the work that needed to be completed and divvy it up between
those involved. Unlike in those projects, Madyson and I attempted to work as a
single delegation and share responsibility throughout the semester, and especially
while in simulation at AMUN. Working on our Internal Position Papers and their
presentation revealed to me how useful informed and dedicated partnerships can
be. Without working as a team to complete the required research and draft
academic language, it would have been impossible for us to complete the course s
assignments as expected. I haven t been in such a situation before, and learning to
trust Madyson and her work was a process I truly value. In addition, working on a
report writing body at AMUN allowed me to put leadership skills to use that have
lain dormant since beginning my studies at Hendrix. In high school I spent a large
portion of my free time participating in extra curricular activities that I led or helped
lead, but have focused on developing personal interests and keeping my scholarships
Advantages And Disadvantages Of ICT And Information...
What is ICT? ICT or Information Communication Technology is an extension of the
commonly known term of Information Technology (IT), but ICT focuses mainly on
the Communications side of things. It is the merger of all the computer systems in an
organisation. This is done by enterprise systems which work by the integration of
different components such as data bases and workstations, which work collectively to
carry out the input, processing, output and storage. In turn the data is converted and
is then presented as information which can be used to support forecasting, planning,
control, coordination and decision making in departments such as Marketing,
Accounting and Human Resources. ICT is dependent on how the five basic resources

Impact Of Global Warming On The United States
Global warming, which is making oceans warmer, is causing an increase in the
strength of hurricanes that could affect the United States. Today, there are less
category 1, 2, and 3 hurricanes approaching the United States annually. But to
counterbalance this effect, the intensity and frequency of category 4 and 5
hurricanes are greatly increasing (Shulman, #6). Therefore, there are a great deal of
category four and five hurricanes that are bound to affect the United States. To begin
the study of hurricanes, the first thing to do is analyze how they are being impacted.
All hurricanes that are forming now, are strongly affected by global warming.
According to Oxford Dictionary, global warming is a gradual increase in the overall...

Rising sea levels have caused tide lines to be increased by approximately 9.15 feet
(Freedman, #3). This increase in tide makes all surrounding land very susceptible
to damage, if a hurricane was to occur. Since studies show that during normal
waters, tides can get this high, there is an approximation that water can reach up to
100 feet of just wave water in the event of a hurricane (Carey, #1). Also, because of
global warming, sea levels are expected to rise an additional 2 feet in the next
century (Freedman, #4). This is due to the melting of icebergs, ice caps, and arctic
snow that eventually ends up in the oceans. With this additional 2 foot rise, coastal
waters are expected to hit an all time high. In addition to the rising of the tides, the
actual area of the ocean will expand, causing any coastal industries, neighborhoods,
or developments, to be highly susceptible of being underwater by the next century.
Another effect of global warming is evaporating seawater. The temperature rise is
forecasted to rise approximately 2.5 to 10 degrees in the next century (Jackson,
#5). Since this heat is also warming the surface water of the ocean to above average
temperatures, the water is slowly evaporating. Though this may sound like a good
thing because sea levels are rising way too high, this is the leading factor of
extreme power of hurricanes. As seawater evaporates, the water vapors that are now
trapped in the air promote the longevity and size of
Aristotle s Lyceum In Ancient Greece
(Teaching) In 338 B.C., Aristotle went home to Macedonia to begin mentoring Lord
Phillip II s child, the then 13 year old Alexander the Incomparable. Phillip and
Alexander both held Aristotle in high regard and guaranteed that the Macedonia court
liberally repaid him for his work.
In 335 B.C., after Alexander had succeeded his dad as ruler and vanquished Athens,
Aristotle backpedaled to the city. In Athens, Platos Foundation, now keep running by
Xenocrates, was yet the main impact on Greek idea. With Alexander s consent,
Aristotle began his own school in Athens, called the Lyceum. On and off, Aristotle
spent most of the rest of his life filling in as an instructor, analyst and essayist at the

Why Does Priestley Use The Inspector To Convey His Own...
An Inspector Calls
How does Priestley use the character of the Inspector to convey his own opinions and
attitudes?
An Inspector Calls, set in 1912, is a play with many social and political messages.
J. B. Priestley believed a great deal in socialism and believed that many other people
needed to be more caring about their community and the people in it. Priestley uses
the character of the Inspector to convey his own thoughts, feelings and opinions
about social issues. However, he also uses other characters, particularly Mr.Birling, to
show the audience how cynical some people can be.
It is possible that J.B.Priestley set this play in 1912 for a reason. Arthur Birling is a
rich businessman who thinks very highly of himself, even ... Show more content on

This tactic could have been to ensure that his viewers continued to think about the
story and hence would also have to think about the issues of Socialism and this is
something which he was desperate to do.
The Inspector s aim in the play is to change thoughts and opinions of the Birling
family and the audience viewing. One of the ways he attempts to do this is by
questioning each one of the Birling s in turn. The Inspector firsts interrogates
Mr.Birling, asking him why he dismissed Eva Smith from her job at his factory, just
for asking for more money.
Birling was surprised at being questioned, so it seems that what he says is usually
accepted as correct. His surprise could also be because of exactly what the
Inspector was questioning. Birling says that it is his duty to keep labour costs
down which indicates that he does not think of each worker as a person and cares a
great deal about money. The fact that he did not recognise the name Eva Smith even
though she was someone he dealt with directly and a worker who stood out, further
shows that he does not think of his employees as people. To him they are nameless
and have no individuality.
Priestley has done this to make audience members realize that even if a person has a
very minor job, or is poorer than most, they still deserve to be treated with respect.
The Inspector recognises early on that Sheila
How to Set Up Your Own Fm Radio Station
How To Set Up Your Own FM Radio Station Licensing And Start Up Issues
There are several ways to set up your own radio station. It depends on how serious
you are about it. The single most important thing you should know before you get
started is why would you need to start your own radio station?
Maybe, it s because you are a DJ or you have a band and want to reach an audience
with your songs. Maybe, you have a huge collection of rock music and want to share
it with the world. Maybe you are a member of club and want to make money by
broadcasting a certain type of music along with commercials. Maybe you are a

In New Zealand, there are no ongoing fees to operate this type of station however
you do need to pay nominal annual fees to APRA and RIANZ for music royalties.
You do need to ensure however that your transmission equipment is compliant with
Radio Spectrum Management regulations. Additionally, as is the case with any radio
station, all your broadcasts need to comply with the Broadcasting Act.
Fundamentally this means your broadcasts must be in good taste. The advantages
that a low power FM radio station have over a commercial station is that is is much
less expensive to set up at the outset, your likelihood of finding a suitable frequency
are much higher, and there are far fewer ongoing costs.
When operating a low power FM station, you need to determine who your audience
is. If you are broadcasting in an area where there are already a number of resident
commercial stations, you may enjoy more success by broadcasting niche
programming that appeals to an audience not currently served by the full power FM
stations. Alternatively for those who are located in a more rural area or town, you
then have the opportunity to set your station up as the local alternative to what is
already available. Generally a local station competing against a station being beamed
in by satellite from one of the main centres will attract a great deal of local
community support.
When it comes to setting up or starting up a low power FM radio
Omelas Literary Devices
In stories there are many literary devices used to help convey the overall message
of the story. These literary devices help to portray the theme or themes of the story.
This allows the reader to grasp a better understanding of what the author is trying to
depict since it is hard to get the same image in the reader s head as is in the author
s. In Ursula Le Guin s The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas, we see the use of
irony, setting and diction to help support the underlying theme of the value of a
human life. The theme of the value of human life can be depicted in the story through
the use of irony. In the short story, the utopian kingdom of Omelas is kept happy
due to the child that is locked away. Ursula Le Guin states, they all understand that
their happiness, the beauty of their city, the tenderness of their friendship, the
health of their children, the wisdom of their scholars, the skill of their makers,
even the abundance of their harvest and the kindly weathers of their skies, depend
wholly on this child s abominable misery . Everyone in the town knows of the
child s existence and believes that it is because of his mistreatment that they have
happiness. The kingdom believes that to embrace violence is to lose hold of
everything (Guin). This is ironic because Omelas is supposed to be a happy
kingdom, free of violence except for the violence inflicted upon the child. This one
human life is bringing happiness to the whole town. The value of a human life is

The Brothers Karamazov Research Paper
The Theodicy Dilemma: Why doesn t the Christian God Prevent Evil?
And God said, Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry
ground appear. And it was so. 10 God called the dry ground land, and the gathered
waters he called seas. And God saw that it was good...God saw all that he had made,
and it was very good. (Genesis 1:9 10,31) This outlook on creation given in The
Bible is clearly positive; we understand that God a perfect being has created the
universe and has seen that it is, very good . However, Dostoevsky presents us with a
wholly different outlook on the world in his book, The Brothers Karamazov, At that

290) How, then, can we reconcile this with the affirmation that creation is good ?
The problem of the existence of evil alongside a supposed omnipotent, omniscient,
omni benevolent God therefore seems to present theologians with a clear paradox.
Atheists often cite this apparent paradox in order to demonstrate that such a God
cannot exist and, therefore, that theism is an invalid position based on a priori
belief. Theodicy is a branch of philosophy that seeks to defend religion by
reconciling the supposed existence of an omnipotent, perfectly just God with the
presence of evil and suffering in the world. Indeed, the word itself consists of the
Greek words theos, or God, and dike, or justice. Thus, theodicy a term coined by
Gottfried Leibniz in the early 1700 s in his work, ThГ©odicГ©e, which was a

How Uniformity Has Become A Major Part Of Military...
Uniformity has become a major part of military lifestyle since before the

should be held to that standard.Whether its from the number of belt loops all trousers
have, to the significance of left over rights on the boot sales, every Marineshould be
held accountable for ensuring all pieces of the uniform are in its proper place.
The main uniform used today for all branches of service comes in many different
patterns. For Marines, there are two different uniforms, woodland MARPAT and
desert MARPAT, or utility uniforms. These are intended for wear in the field, or on
working parties. but have become the typical uniform for working on a daily basis,
especially in Garrison or on deployment. The MARPAT is designed to break up the
wearers shape, and to identify a Marine as a Marine and not any other branch of
service. The Utilities we wear depend on the time of year and the region the
Marine lives in. For example, Marines on the west coast of the U.S. wear desert
utilities in the spring and summer months. Also, because we are in a desert
environment, we wear these. Woodland utilities are worn in the winter months due
to the changing of the seasons and is also because of the rainy, greener climate. on
the other hand, those Marines on the east coast and over sees wear woodlands year
round because they are not in a desert environment, but a tropical or wooded area.

Paleolithic Vs Neolithic Art
Chapter 1 focuses on the prehistoric art of two different cultures, which include
Paleolithic Art and Neolithic Art. Paleolithic Art began during the time period of the
Ice Age that dates back to about 10,00 to 40, 000 years. Moreover, as the Ice Age
began to decline, new vegetation appeared and an increase of other animal
populations allowed the growth of NeolithicArt referred to as the New Stone Age.
Even though these cultures were divided by different time periods they both have
some similar techniques. For example, both regions had figurines, but they had a
different aspect pertaining to their culture of art. Also they both painted animals, but
the style and type of animals differed because of the region. However, most of the

Financial Crisis And Its Effect On The Stock Crisis
BACKGROUND:
The Global Financial crisis started with the burst of US housing bubble, which peaked
in 2006. The main reason for this was the subprime lending, deregulation of the
financial sector, off book financing and underwriting practices. Loans were issued to
the customers with poor credit rating thinking that the price of houses will rise in the
future and due to overvaluation. This resulted in decline in credit availability,
damaged investor faith, and reduced international trade and an impact on the stock
market. As European Union has high trade ties and financial ties with US, the
European Union suffered the effects of this financial crisis as well resulting in the

PUNT: A useful way of measuring the sophistication of a soccer crowd is to listen
to their reaction to a long punt by the goalkeeper. If they ooh! and aah! as the ball
arcs downfield for 40 or 50 yards, chances are that they don t know too much about
soccer. A long punt, assessed by Mendez8football criteria, is impressive. By soccer
standards it is next to useless. As a pass, the high towering punt has two major
drawbacks: The ball is in the air too long, allowing opponents plenty of time to
cover the intended receiver, and when the ball finally does come down, the angle
and the speed of its descent make it extremely difficult for a forward to control.
The defender, of course, doesn t have to control it he merely heads or hoofs it back
whence it came. To the reader who asks why, then, do goalkeepers constantly punt

Senior Caregivers
Senior Caregivers and Joint Problems Many seniors suffer from sore and aching
joints. What exactly causes these problems to occur? While there is no one simple
answer, let s take a look at a few of the most common reasons for joint problems. As
we age, the padding between the bones, cartilage, wears and erodes. This is often
accompanied by a drying up of the protective membranes and fluid that lubricates the
joints. Without the cartilage and the synovial membranes and fluid, the bones are
allowed to touch and painfully grind together. This deterioration of the joints often
causes stiffness, deformity, swelling, and pain. The most common joint problem for
seniors is osteoarthritis. In fact, Mayo Clinic notes that it is one of the most common
ailments in the United States. Nearly half of all seniors over... Show more content on

Global Warming In Australia Essay
Regardless of whether you feel that global warming is caused naturally as a result
of time or because of humans being careless with their emissions, it exists, causing
a problematic question of how to fix it. Four topics will be addressed in this essay,
the first being; is the significance of a 2В°C temperature increase relative to pre
industrial levels? Secondly; what it means to decarbonise the global economy.
Thirdly; how Australia could go about achieving zero carbon emissions. and lastly;
which sectors of the Australian economy exhibits the greatest potential for
greenhouse gasemissions reductions ? To understand how to act upon the problems
caused by global warming, there are some words that need to be defined in order to

It is believed that we, as a country, can achieve this by 2050 as long as the economy
continues to grow at the rate it is at today 2.4% gross domestic product (GPD). To
help keep Australia on track with its emissions the following could be used;
Renewable energy through wind, solar and hydro electricity instead of the use of
fossil fuels. Another technique is to make a shift from deforestation and land
degradation to reforestation and land rehabilitation. Forest managers will need to
plant more trees that will help decrease the level of carbon within the atmosphere
and is quick to grow and be sure to not disturb soil based carbon reserves too much.
Although farming facilities have been modernised to be reliant on electricity to
create bigger gains, economy wise, it does not help with keeping emissions within
the desired level. This is because in order to keep the machinery going it must use a

Sight Gags and Charlie Chaplin Essay
Sight Gags and Charlie Chaplin
We have all seen it done before, either in real life or in the movies. A situation is
funny because of the misinterpretation of someone s actions or the complete conflict
of what a situation seems to be and what it really is. People come into contact with
sight gags all the time. One might be trying to be sneaky and hide something and then
when someone looks, one pretends to be doing something else not to get caught. One
could also pantomime using an umbrella as a baseball bat. These are both basic
forms of sight gags.
Sight gags are an essential part of comedy, especially the silent comedies of Charlie
Chaplin s time. A sight gag is a visual form of comedy. In this form of comedy, the
actors rely on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The accuser, however, had not seen that Chaplin had put the money in her pocketin
the first place. This misunderstanding makes the scene funny when the man tells the
woman to check her pockets and she is overjoyed to find money.
The second sight gag discussed is the mimed metaphor, which is when an actor uses
pantomime as a gag. For this, the actor uses an object that is very recognizable and
pantomimes something that is not its proper use. This is a kind of visual simile, and
is generally used in silent films more than sound films. The mimed metaphor is
different from the mutual interface gag in that there are not multiple points of view
to consider, they often do not result in mishaps, and commonly deal with objects
rather than events. The mimed metaphor is used in the film The Count, in which at
one point Chaplin s character uses his cane like a pool cue in order to hit an object
off the table.
At the beginning of The Immigrant Chaplin s character is hanging over the side of
the boat. The audience gets the impression that he is seasick, however we soon learn
that he is actually just fishing. This is a perfect example of switch image. In the
beginning, the audience is led to believe one thing, but with the revelation of new
details we soon realize that our perception of the situation was wrong, and generally
our perception changes to something
New Development Of Contingency Fee Agreements And
Damages...
Introduction:
Indeed, the concerns surrounding legal fees are not unfounded. Those seeking
legal advice tend to be in a submissive position and yet it appears that legal
professionals take advantage of this vulnerability by charging excessive fees, for
what may be unbeknownst to the layman a basic case. This has led critics to
question whether the legal profession has done everything in its power to address the
subject of legal costs particularly contingency fees and the issues which they raise,
namely that of conflict of interests and the promotion of access to justice.
Background:
This paper will focus on the relatively new development of contingency fee
agreements, of which there are two: conditional fee agreements and ... Show more

As such, a conflict arises when a lawyer is able to settle a case faster, but in doing
so accepts less money for the client than they would receive should they have gone
through trial. Although this may be looked at with dismay law firms are
businesses and survive only if they kill enough work to eat . Thus, as the
probability for a favourable outcome decreases, a lawyer may opt for a settlement
despite it not necessarily being in the best interests of the client. The chances of a
lawyer agreeing to a settlement offer early on may increase depending on how many
similar cases the attorney is handling. Since their hourly rate may decrease, they trial

In these situations, the lawyer should use his skills to benefit the client, yet, he uses
his positon of power and exploits the client s vulnerability. Although ethically
reprehensible, such dishonest practices are difficult to detect since the bargaining
parties are seldom equipped with the necessary knowledge to make an informed

it must be noted that this conflict is not limited to contingency fees. Nevertheless, it

The Beginning Of Fall
In the beginning of fall, which was also the beginning of school, there leaves
falling outside in all different colors with hints of beauty inside them and there I was
sleeping in high school, social studies class in the way way back. As the bell rang I
started to feel a person grabbing a book from under my hand and at a flick of a light I
woke up. There it was, across the room with Austin. My book. I came down from
the stairs and asked nicely, can I have my book? Come and get it he replied.
I went over there to try to get it. Now if you ask me, I should have just tackled him
because the teacher wasn t there. But if I had done that I could get in trouble, if
the teacher walked in. Therefore, I was smart and waited and waited. Little did he
know that the change of time passed and the door started to creak open. The
professor came in. He looked at me and then Austin. He saw the book high in
Austin s hand and knew what my past was of being a victim of bullies. Austin, can
you please give Boo the book? Or you will go down to the office. the professor said.
There I sat looking at the professor with a stare of a thank you. I then rose up from
my seat and walked towards Austin and he gave the book to me. Because of this, the
day flew by like a pin dropping on the ground and I soon later arrived at my house
and while taking out my homework I realized football practice was at 4:30 pm. I
looked at the clock and it was 4. I needed to get that running back spot and
Effectiveness Of High Preference ( High P ) Intervention
Introduction
Noncompliant behavior in an academic setting can result in missing opportunities,
falling behind in schoolwork, missing instruction and disrupting the class. It is
critical that noncompliant behavior be decreased (Banda Kubina, 2010). This study
focused on a thirteen year old middle school student with Autism. Brad was a student
who displayed academic noncompliance particularly with mathematics tasks. Brad
was fully capable of completing all of the academic demands that were present, but
showed resistance in completing missing addend math problems.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of high preference (high
p) intervention. High p intervention consisted of presenting two to three high p tasks
before the presentation of a low preference (low p) task. Preference of tasks was
determined with a pre study preference assessment.
Method
Participant The participant was Brad, a thirteen year old boy, diagnosed with
Autism and Pervasive Developmental Disorder. Brad received speech and language
services once a week and had in class paraprofessional support. The Woodcock
Johnson Revised Achievement Tests (WJ R) determined grade level performance in
word identification and below grade level performance in comprehension and problem
solving. Brad s teacher requested help after identifying his need for additional
support for low p tasks. REWORD

Haudenosaunee Analysis
The path of the Haudenosaunee people is interrelated with the path of the people of
the United States because the Haudenosaunee rely on the United States court system
to keep as much of their sovereignty as they can and because they share the
environment with the United States. To begin, the Haudenosaunee and the United
Statesare interrelated because the Haudenosaunee use the United States judicial
system to protect themselves against laws that violate their sovereignty. Throughout
Who are These People Anyway?, Chief Irving Powless Jr. mentions instances where
the Haudenosaunee had to go to the United States judicial system to block a law
which they felt violated their sovereignty. For example, the Haudenosaunee went to
court over the issue of the imposition of sales taxes in their territory. The
Haudenosaunee won the initial case, and when the New York State appealed the...

Chief Powless discusses the changes that have occurred to the environment as a result
of the actions of the United States. One example of this, that he mentions multiple
times, is the fish in the stream. According to Chief Powless father there used to be
so many fish in the stream that you could walk across the stream on the backs of the
fish, because they went from bank to bank (Powless 7). Today, Chief Powless says
there is not nearly that many fish in the stream because of pollution from the actions
of the United States. Also, Chief Powless talks about how when he was younger he
could drink straight out of a stream, but now because of pollution he is unable to do
so. These are examples of how the actions of the United States affect the environment
which affects the Haudenosaunee. Since the United States and the Haudenosaunee
share the environment there must be some relationship between the United States

Gay Adoptions Essay
There are basically two types of adoption agencies: Public agencies that are usually
supported by public funding and are run by the state and Private agencies that are
licensed by the state, but run privately (Reference 99). Regardless of the type of
agency, the state has some say in their operations, and if the state has a ban of gay
adoptions, then the agencies will have to abide. In 1977, Florida passed a civil
rights ordinance making sexual orientation discrimination illegal in Dade County. In
response to the ordinance s creation, a campaign themed Save Our Children was
created and led by the singer of the hit Paper Roses and former Miss Oklahoma
beauty pageant winner, Anita Bryant. The campaign, whose members were mainly...

An Interview With A Fifty-Year-Old Girl
Starting this research project. I felt that I would not be able to find someone to
answer my questions. I dislike it because I felt I would not have enough time to
interview anyone due to working full time and going to school full time. My
subjects were willing to take ten minutes out of their time to sit down with me
while I asked them some questions. I experienced a hard time with finding a
variety of ethnic subjects, but I did one better. I found a forty seven year old man,
a thirty five year old man and a nineteen year old girl. While conducting the

Prolonged Exposure Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress...
Prolonged Exposure Therapy
Definition
According to Tuerk, Yoder, Ruggiero, Gros Acierno (2010), prolonged exposure
therapy is a form of therapy treatment applied in posttraumatic stress disorders.
Prolonged exposure treatment based on behavioral and cognitive levels of therapy, is
a method used in treatment of trauma where the victim remembers the triggers of
trauma rather than letting go, as it has been the case. Trained Social workers,
psychologists and psychiatrist offer treatment to these conditions. What causes post
traumatic stress disorders is not clearly known, but a mix of one s personality,
inherited mental functionality risks, the way the brain releases chemicals in dealing
with stress, and one s life experiences can be used to draw some insights (Powers,
Halpern, Ferenschak, Gillihan Foa, 2010).
This method is useful in trauma cases, which result to depression, anger and anxiety.
It includes strategies and methods used to help individuals deal with past traumatic
events in order to minimize anger and depression. Making an individual remember
their past traumatic events enables them deal with their fears (Rizvi, Vogt, Resick,
2009). The treatment period is dependent on the needs of a client and the healing
progress. Edna. B. Foa is the scholar who developed the therapy program she based
her study on the treatment of anxiety. Practitioners all over the United States have
practiced her strategy on treating trauma caused due to rape, child abuse, motor
Dancing For The Rhythm Of Underwood s Heartbeat
Dancing to the Rhythm of Underwood s Heartbeat
Storyteller by Carrie Underwood is one of her best albums yet. She is a phenomenal
singer who won American Idol back in 2005 and has not left the top since. Although
Underwood went from nobody to the top extremely quick, the media still portrays
her as being level headed unlike many other celebrities. Her debut album Some
Hearts was declared the best selling album of 2006 in all genres. Underwood is the
most successful of any Idol winner and is also the only country artist to have his or
her first five albums all reaching first or second on the Billboard 200 chart. When
she released Storyteller in 2015, I had nothing but high expectations from this
magnificent vocalist. In the Storyteller album, Underwood shows her passion for her
life through her songs. She does this with catchy beats and memorable lyrics that
share her stories to listeners through her music and does so very successfully.
The album Storyteller is performed by country artist Carrie Underwood and was
released on October 23, 2015. Mark Bright, Zach Crowell, and Jay Joyce produced
this album. This album has thirteen songs and is approximately 46 minutes long.
Storyteller s target audience would be mostly young adults and older teens but can be
enjoyable for many others including all country music fans. Underwood s Storyteller
is generally positively reviewed and has been nominated for country album of the
year. This is definitely an album to remember.

Geico s Core Values Of Integrity, Service, And Growth
I like to think that I exemplify GEICO s core values of integrity, service, and
growth in many ways. Since I believe that each truly goes hand in hand with the
other, I feel it s important to gain an understanding of each individually as a way to
gain the ability to practice each one. Gaining an understanding of each individually
also helps one to show others how they can choose to take on these values, too.
Among values that one should hold close to them, integrity, service, and growth
are among the most important, to me. In my everyday life, I exemplify integrity
by consistently following my moral or ethical convictions and doing the right
thing in all circumstances. To me, having integrity means that I am are true to
myself and would do nothing that demeans or dishonors me. I keep your promises
even if it takes extra effort. I work when I am supposed to and save socializing,
snacking, searching the Internet and personal phone calls for break time. I show
respect to coworkers with appropriate conversation and empathy. I am responsible,
and I do what I say I will do.Similarly, I exemplify service first and foremost by
valuing service. I valueit because not only have I been on the receiving end of
service, but also the giving end of the spectrum, and I value the feeling I can receive
when I am able to help someone in an endeavor. I personally receive the best feeling
when I m helping someone and we are both aware that I cannot gain anything

Video games have been around since the 40 s, reaching its popularity from the
mass mainstream crowds by the 70 s. Back to the simpler times where there were
less pixels and control buttons. Back to the games that didn t have storylines no

gamecreators and fans wanted as time progressed. More games, more visuals and
graphics, more dimension, more realism. Thru the years, video games have evolved

Play turns to seriousness and seriousness to play. [2] When video games were
introduced, it was a whole new world for youths everywhere. I vividly remember
playing Mortal Kombat on the PlayStation 1 with my friends in awe of the colours
and graphics. There was a sense of competitiveness against whoever was playing. It
was fun when teaming up together, but once versing each other there would be a
point where we took the game quite seriously. It took a competitive turn during
gameplay but nevertheless it was an exciting firsthand experience for us players.
Street Fighter and Metal Gear were just two of the famed popular video games that
we begged our parents to buy for us. Pop the disc into our PlayStations and ask all
our friends to come over. During flow, attention is so fully invested in moment to
moment activity that there is little left over to devote toward the mental processes
that contribute to the experience of duration (Friedman, 1990). As a results,
persons deeply immersed in an activity typically report time passing quickly
(Conti, 2001). [3] These days, what with the extensive amount of consoles such as
the PlayStation, Xbox, DS and Wii ranges and all the games that come with it, it
can t be helped that once you get into the game and its objectives and storylines you
feel that you can t pull away until you finish the entire game. Until you ve died for

  • 2. Analysis Of The Article The Other Hand In the other hand, the article argues about software that, Licensing fees are a significant disadvantage of Windows, as they are based on the number of users. Windows licenses (Server plus Exchange) cost around $100 per user. Mac server, by contrast, allows unlimited numbers of users on a single license, and the license comes free with the server. Windows workstations can be connected to Mac servers, so using a Mac server could considerably reduce both licensing and administration costs. UNIX and Linux licenses are free, as is much of the applications software. The table below, from Prince McLean at Apple Insider, demonstrates acquisition cost savings of $25,489, or around 85%, by using a Mac OS server instead of Windows. That s for 100 users. For the 10 and 25 user options in the table, using SBS would cut the Windows licensing costs by nearly half, but Mac OS still comes in way ahead. • 3. Gun Controls And Gun Control Americans are faced with a big issue of violence in the streets, these streets where elderly people are beaten for their money and women are attacked and raped. Sadly, some people believe that the best way to deal with these violent occurrences is to pass gun control laws that take away legally owned guns from everyone. Not only does gun control end up disarming the innocent but it also violates the Second Amendment. By taking away guns from the American citizens, whom the Second Amendment bestowed onto us this act violates our rights. Unfortunately for those who have legally armed themselves for self defense, gun control would eventually strip away their ability to fend for themselves. Gun control will also end up causing a rise in crime. By taking away arms from good law abiding citizens and leaving them defenseless, it makes things much easier for criminals by knowing that their victims are not armed. Although the gun ban would take away guns from stores, a criminal will find a way to get their hands on one, imagine that. Gun controls are taking away our rights as citizens. If a law abiding citizen happens to enjoy hunting, they will lose that right. Gun controls are also taking away weapons from citizens. Gun control is not having a positive effect on America because it violates the second amendment, takes away rights and it won t reduce the crime rate. A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear

As director Edward Zwick explains, hisdecision to commit the film to historically accurate visuals at anepic like scale meant an almost unending research and logisticalmanagement project for him and his collaborators. At the end of theday, everything combined to directly impact the look and feel of hismovie. We had to build roads and buildings, he says. We had to havediscussions about such things as whether it s better to load actorsinto buses out of costume, or have them wear their samurai armor, meaning we would have to physically remove seats from the bus and renta second bus. Which was the more efficient way to do it removeseats and hire another bus and driver, or dress the actors on location?People don t talk about it much, but there is a moment on every film ofthis scale when logistics affect creativity, and it s the director sresponsibility to mitigate that. It was also necessary to shootwildly out of script continuity because we were using the same extrasas both samurai and as Imperial troops. What this meant was that oncewe were shooting a certain angle, we would try to stay in that angle aslong as possible, even if it meant shooting entirely different phasesof the battle out of continuity. In terms of lighting continuity, thiswas difficult because we shot the final battle over a period of fiveweeks, and during this period, we shot through every lighting conditionknown to
  • 5. Broken Heart Research Paper 3 Big Reasons Why You Can t Move On From a Broken Heart By Susan Russo Mar 31, 2013 A man s life is what his thoughts make of it. Marcus Aurelius There are a lot of reasons why we can t move on from heartache. But what I have come to find to be the main reasons will blow your mind. Many people feel that their situation is causing their pain, and to some degree they re right. If it weren t for this excruciating experience you wouldn t be experiencing the pain. Well, yes and no. The yes is; of course you are going to feel a whole heck of a lot of negative emotions that can plague your every waking hour when going through a divorce or breakup. This is normal. Yes, the pain isn t only real it seems like it becomes who you are. And, yes these... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But as you are moving through the process the three factors that will help you move on sooner rather than later are what I have come to find are the top 3 reasons that people either do or don t move on from a broken heart. 1.Your Thoughts! Let me break this down for you. Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts determine how you feel and how you feel will be how you experience anything you are going through. Your thoughts can make you or break you. They can make heaven out of hell or hell out of heaven. 2.Your Thoughts! We think some 60,000 thoughts a day and most of them go unnoticed. Our thoughts are like a broken record playing in our minds. And many of these thoughts are negative, limiting and depressing. We go over and over, why, what if and if only. We relive conversations, scenarios and replay them as if we were Steven Spielberg editing his next blockbuster. But the only block that is getting busted is your head! 3.Your Thoughts! If you learn how to flip the destructive thoughts to the kinds of thoughts that will serve you and pull you up instead of dragging you down, you will have the number one key that can change everything. Change the way you look at things and the things you look at
  • 6. Why Is Ma Rainey Important Gertrude Ma Rainey is a pivotal figure in the history of American music. She was the first person to ever perform blues and the first internationally known African American female blues singer. Her music acted as inspiration for many distinguished figures during the Harlem Renaissance, and continues to influence contemporary music and art. A single source of blues music cannot be traced, but Ma Rainey is rightfully credited with introducing it to the world. Hence the reason she was dubbed as The Mother of the Blues . During an interview in the 1930s, Ma told musicologist John Work, that she heard what would be called blues, for the first time around 1902. She was in a small town in Missouri working a show at the time, and one morning a local girl came into the tent singing about a man whom had left her. This new style of soulful music drew in Ma Rainey so much she later had the girl teach her the song. Rainey performed the song as an encore in a show soon after, earning a special place in the show, and marking the start of her career (Jas Obrecht Archive). Gertrude Pridgett was born in 1986 to tent performers Thomas Pridgett Sr. and Ella Allen Pridgett. Both were said to had traveled around the south performing minstrel shows, which was the most popular form of live comedy entertainment from 1840 to the early nineteenth century (Biography.com). Because of her parents involvement, Gertrude had always been surrounded by show business and always had a love for singing and
  • 7. Plane Crash Of A Cessna Citation 550 Introduction This paper examines the plane crash of a Cessna Citation 550 which impacted into lake Michigan shortly after takeoff. We will examine the flight crew involved, flight information, crash details, and the accident investigations about the crash. On further analyzing crashes like this one, we should have a better understanding on how CRM (crew resource management) and good flight practices can make flights safer. History of the Crew There are many factors to take into account when a plane crash occurs, one of those is the crew and how they performed before the crash occurred. Crashes can happen to a young pilot as well as a seasoned veteran, so we need to find out if the history of the captain and the first officer can lead to more conclusions as to how this crash occurred. Captain The captain of the aircraft, as many individuals know, is the person who is ultimately responsible for the safety of the passengers, crew, as well as the aircraft. That being said the captain or chief pilot should have a good overall background to go along with many hours of flight time. The captain, age 59, was hired by Marlin Air as a line pilot on February 21, 2005. Marlin Air designated him as the company s chief pilot and then, on August 15, 2005, he was appointed by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as Marlin Air s check airman in Cessna Citation 500/550 airplanes. He held a multi engine airline transport pilot (ATP) certificate with ratings in the Citation 500, 550,

  • 9. Korean Pop Korea had become trendy because it provided what the youth wanted throughout the region. The phenomenon can be partially explained by noting how Korean popular culture catapulted forward during the 1990s, leaving much of Asia behind as it abandoned conservatism and censorship, diversifying, appropriating, absorbing and innovating. In its fusions, it created an Asian equivalent of European and American pop. Japanese pop, of course, had long had this function throughout the region, but the 1990s was a time for re examining the Pacific War s legacy, and Korea offered a less tainted alternative to Japan. Fandoms are usually implied to be those crazy, raving fans, mostly female ones, who always stalk (in Korean pop vocabulary, *spazz) their Korean pop idols. They are usually thought of as obsessive, brainless and foolish people. People who criticize them just do not know how passionate these fandoms are. Although they are known for showing their support through watching their Korean pop idols and buying Korean pop merchandise, they go beyond than that; these fandoms also organize parties and charitable events to help the needy and at the same time, to mingle with their fellow KPop fans. Through this, it can be observed that Filipinos form these groups so that they can socialize with other people who also have the same inclinations, as demonstrated by the subculture of KPop fans, in the country, flamed by activities of fandoms. More than a recreation and hobby, for KPop fans, it is their happiness and fulfillment to support their idols. Through a brief research, it has been observed that the Korean wave is popular among many Filipino teenagers because it offers a fresh cultural aspect, encourages self expression and serves as a psychological and social urgency. Outline the development of attachment According to Shaffer, the development of attachment can be divided into four main phases. Other researchers have then added two additional stages to this original theory. В· Pre Attachment Phase from birth to 3 months. From 6 weeks the baby develops an attraction to other humans, especially adults in preference to other objects. This can be illustrated through social behaviours like gurgling, reaching out and smiling. В· Indiscriminate Attachment Phase from 3 to 7 months. Infants are considered to be attached to someone when they display the following: В· Distress at separation В· Preferring the company of this one individual В· Seeking this person at times of stress. There are many recognized theories of attachment, each outlining in many different ways exactly why a child will become attached to a certain adult. I am going to outline two of these explanations in more detail. Cupboard Love Theory Sigmund Freud Incorporating the psychoanalytic and behaviourist explanations. At the turn of the century, the treatment of new born babies was regarded as having little significance for later life, as babies were thought to be immune to influence. This idea, like many others prevalent at that time, was attacked by Sigmund Freud. He believed that the relationship a child has with its mother is a prototype on which all future relationships are based. According to Freud s psychoanalytic theory a child becomes attached to its mother because she is its source of food; hence she gratifies its most basic instinctual and psychological needs. Freud states that the primary drive is for food and as the mother is associated with food, she becomes desired by the infant in her own right. In the normal course of growing up, the child comes to accept that this psychosexual relationship can not be, and as
  • 11. Analysis of Robert Frost s Stopping by Woods on a Snowy... Analysis of Robert Frost s Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening is a very well know poem by Robert Frost. The poem appears to be very simple, but it has a hidden meaning to it. The simple words and rhyme scheme of the poem gives it an easy flow, which adds to the calmness of the poem. The rhyme scheme (aaba, bbcb, ccdc, dddd) and the rhythm (iambic tetrameter) give the poem a solid structure. The poem is about the speaker s experience of stopping by the dark woods in the winter evening with his horse and admiring the beauty of the fresh fallen snow in the forest. May be, he is comparing the beauty of nature to something, but on a symbolic level, the snow strongly reminds me that the poem is set in winter, and which is also widely represented as the image of death. In the second stanza, I see that the speaker wonders about what his horse is thinking which shows his interests are also in the outside world too, like his horse. He also takes certain pleasure seeing the scene from what he imagines to be his horse s perspective. I think his horse is practical in nature, he thinks, while the speaker sits there dreaming, watching the snow fill up the woods. He just stands there dreaming, and thinking about his horse s feelings is the one thing that brings him back to reality. Death comes again in the typical image of night, as we re told this is the darkest evening of the year. Also, it can either be taken literally as the most lightless night, or it can be taken as the night of the darkest emotions. I think that it is a combination of the two, a dark moonless winter night in which the speaker experiences some form of depression or loneliness. In the third stanza, the speaker is brought back to reality. He s still drawn to the scene, evidenced by the way he notes the quietness of the country after hearing the harness bells shake. Although he s considered the needs of his horse to take journey towards home, he can t easily draw himself away from the beauty of the

And can we assume that if parental involvement is the key factor in a child being school ready, can we also assume that a working mom just won t offer her children the same number of quality early experiences as that of a stay at home mom? These are just a few of the questions surrounding this topic, and we attempt to answer some of them in this study. However, we must first explore the research that speaks to the imperative role of parental involvement and its direct relationship to academic achievement and school readiness in children, namely children entering Kindergarten for the first time. A considerable body of literature exists to support the theory that parental involvement in children s education during pre Kindergarten years has a direct, positive impact on childhood development and academic achievement. (El Nokali, Bachman, Votruba Drzal, 2010; Fan Chen, 2001; Hill Chao, 2009; Seginer, 2006). Parental involvement in a child s early education can take many shapes and forms including one or all of the following: parental attitudes toward education, parental behaviors to prepare children for school experiences, educational expectations of parents, etc. (Seginer, 2006). In the industries of pediatrics and education, we often hear the child s brain referred to as a sponge . This is because 90% of a child s brain is developed before the age of

This decision might change the entire UK supermarket industry operations because of the big number of goods that have been imported from the European Union with a free tax because of the European Union free zone trade. • 16. Christianity And Christianity In Beowulf Even though Christianity has been around for quite some time, not all Christians really act uniformly. And so it goes with Christianity with the early Icelandic and Anglo Saxon peoples. Since all of their literature was written by Christian monks, the stories and sagas have Christian spins on them. Beowulf, one of the major texts to be referenced here, was written down after the Anglo Saxon conversion to Christianity and has many Christian quips written in it, even though the story was transmitted orally long before the conversion. It contains no information on what the Anglo Saxons were like pre conversion and whether or not Christianity actually changed the ways their society operated. Njal s Saga, on the other hand, has the narrative of Iceland s conversion embedded within it. This lends for a better examination of the people before and after the incident. Even with the evidence of the conversion of the country, though, it can seem hard to determine how Christianity changed the then current Icelandic culture. To shape the idea of how biblical Christianity works, Ephesians 4:22 24 gives a good idea of how somebody should behave post conversion. It says, You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness (NIV). The Enlightenment has been defined in many different ways, but its broadest was a philosophical, intellectual and cultural movement of the eighteenth century. The leaders wanted logic to be included in a worldwide since such as used in history, politics, jurisprudence, and economics. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The way the world works now is all based off the Enlightenment. By furthering development in the arts, philosophy, religion, and politics the Enlightenment has furthered our research and ideals. It produced a set of basic principles about human affairs. Humans beings are naturally good and can be educated to be better, (The Age Of The Enlightenment). Enlightenment thinkers attacked the Catholic church with particular vigor. Progress was possible, even inevitable, if people could be set free. Society s goals should center on improvements in material and social life. In culture, the aftermath of the scientific revolution spilled over into a new movement known as the Enlightenment, centered particularly in France but with adherents throughout the Western world. Enlightenment thinkers continued to support scientific advance. While there were no Newton like breakthroughs, chemists gained new understanding of major elements and biologists developed a vital new classification system for the natural species (The Enlightenment P.1). Enlightenment thinkers showed great interest in technological change, for greater prosperity was a valid and achievable goal. Coercion and cruelty could be corrected, for the Enlightenment encouraged a humanitarian outlook that was applied in condemnations of slavery and war. The Enlightenment, summing up and extending earlier intellectual changes, became an important force for political and social reform. It did not rule unchallenged. Important popular religious movements, such as Methodism in England, showed the continued power of spiritual faith. Many writers, particularly those experimenting with the novel as a new literary form in the West, rebelled against Enlightenment rationality to urge the importance of sentimentality and emotion. These approaches,
  • 19. The Importance Of Hate Speech On The Internet I will examine the difficulties of regulating hate speech on the internet through legal and technological frameworks for Japan and the United States. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights recognizes the freedom of expression as a human right. But the freedom of expression on the internet is subject to certain limitations. The Internet is not devoid of different forms of deviant behavior (such as hate speech), which incite discrimination, hatred or violence against groups or individuals on the basis of their personal attributes. The anonymity and mobility provided by the Internet has made harassment and expressions of hate effortless and undetectable. Hate speech on the Internet is a growing problem for the United States and Japan because it is targeting individuals on the basis of personal characteristics. Brown (2017) argues that cyberhate has three different qualities: anonymity in the sense that individuals are not compelled to reveal aspects of their offline identity unless they wish to do so; invisibility there is a physical distance between speaker and audience; instantaneousness provides people with almost instantaneous publishing. The justification for promoting speech is founded on a concern for the facilitation of discourse democracy, while the rationale for preventing harm is based on a concern for human dignity. Koontz (2017) cites the case of City of Yokosuka v. Lee Sin as an example that Japan needs to redraft the act in order to redefine hate speech on

  • 21. Reflection On The Odyssey Odyssey Reflection POLI 283: Model United Nations was the most fulfilling Odyssey project that I have experienced during my time at Hendrix, on both a personal and academic basis. Preparing for the AMUN conference using a semester s worth of simulations and research has facilitated growth in multiple areas of my life, and the experiential component in Chicago was highly rewarding in its own right. Serving as a representative from the Republic of Indonesia to the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific vastly improved my ability to work with a partner and to organize large groups of people. This Odyssey experience also increased my confidence as a public speaker, broadened my area of study within the International Relations department, and has introduced me into a close knit group of teammates who share my interests and passions. While my studies have often required me to work with my peers toward the completion of a project over complex issues such as the Syrian refugee crisis and time travel, nothing I experienced prior to Model UN forced me to truly work in synthesis with others. In my former pursuits, the nature of my assignments has allowed me to compartmentalize the work that needed to be completed and divvy it up between those involved. Unlike in those projects, Madyson and I attempted to work as a single delegation and share responsibility throughout the semester, and especially while in simulation at AMUN. Working on our Internal Position Papers and their presentation revealed to me how useful informed and dedicated partnerships can be. Without working as a team to complete the required research and draft academic language, it would have been impossible for us to complete the course s assignments as expected. I haven t been in such a situation before, and learning to trust Madyson and her work was a process I truly value. In addition, working on a report writing body at AMUN allowed me to put leadership skills to use that have lain dormant since beginning my studies at Hendrix. In high school I spent a large portion of my free time participating in extra curricular activities that I led or helped lead, but have focused on developing personal interests and keeping my scholarships

Rising sea levels have caused tide lines to be increased by approximately 9.15 feet (Freedman, #3). This increase in tide makes all surrounding land very susceptible to damage, if a hurricane was to occur. Since studies show that during normal waters, tides can get this high, there is an approximation that water can reach up to 100 feet of just wave water in the event of a hurricane (Carey, #1). Also, because of global warming, sea levels are expected to rise an additional 2 feet in the next century (Freedman, #4). This is due to the melting of icebergs, ice caps, and arctic snow that eventually ends up in the oceans. With this additional 2 foot rise, coastal waters are expected to hit an all time high. In addition to the rising of the tides, the actual area of the ocean will expand, causing any coastal industries, neighborhoods, or developments, to be highly susceptible of being underwater by the next century. Another effect of global warming is evaporating seawater. The temperature rise is forecasted to rise approximately 2.5 to 10 degrees in the next century (Jackson, #5). Since this heat is also warming the surface water of the ocean to above average temperatures, the water is slowly evaporating. Though this may sound like a good thing because sea levels are rising way too high, this is the leading factor of extreme power of hurricanes. As seawater evaporates, the water vapors that are now trapped in the air promote the longevity and size of

One of the ways he attempts to do this is by questioning each one of the Birling s in turn. The Inspector firsts interrogates Mr.Birling, asking him why he dismissed Eva Smith from her job at his factory, just for asking for more money. Birling was surprised at being questioned, so it seems that what he says is usually accepted as correct. His surprise could also be because of exactly what the Inspector was questioning. Birling says that it is his duty to keep labour costs down which indicates that he does not think of each worker as a person and cares a great deal about money. The fact that he did not recognise the name Eva Smith even though she was someone he dealt with directly and a worker who stood out, further shows that he does not think of his employees as people. To him they are nameless and have no individuality. Priestley has done this to make audience members realize that even if a person has a very minor job, or is poorer than most, they still deserve to be treated with respect. The theme of the value of human life can be depicted in the story through the use of irony. In the short story, the utopian kingdom of Omelas is kept happy due to the child that is locked away. Ursula Le Guin states, they all understand that their happiness, the beauty of their city, the tenderness of their friendship, the health of their children, the wisdom of their scholars, the skill of their makers, even the abundance of their harvest and the kindly weathers of their skies, depend wholly on this child s abominable misery . • 35. Financial Crisis And Its Effect On The Stock Crisis BACKGROUND: The Global Financial crisis started with the burst of US housing bubble, which peaked in 2006. The main reason for this was the subprime lending, deregulation of the financial sector, off book financing and underwriting practices. Loans were issued to the customers with poor credit rating thinking that the price of houses will rise in the future and due to overvaluation. This resulted in decline in credit availability, damaged investor faith, and reduced international trade and an impact on the stock market. • 37. Descriptive Essay On Football PUNT: A useful way of measuring the sophistication of a soccer crowd is to listen to their reaction to a long punt by the goalkeeper. If they ooh! and aah! as the ball arcs downfield for 40 or 50 yards, chances are that they don t know too much about soccer. A long punt, assessed by Mendez8football criteria, is impressive. By soccer standards it is next to useless. As a pass, the high towering punt has two major drawbacks: The ball is in the air too long, allowing opponents plenty of time to cover the intended receiver, and when the ball finally does come down, the angle and the speed of its descent make it extremely difficult for a forward to control. The defender, of course, doesn t have to control it he merely heads or hoofs it back whence it came. For this, the actor uses an object that is very recognizable and pantomimes something that is not its proper use. This is a kind of visual simile, and is generally used in silent films more than sound films. The mimed metaphor is different from the mutual interface gag in that there are not multiple points of view to consider, they often do not result in mishaps, and commonly deal with objects rather than events. The mimed metaphor is used in the film The Count, in which at one point Chaplin s character uses his cane like a pool cue in order to hit an object off the table.
