Thesis Statement For Analytical Essay
Writing an essay on the topic "Thesis Statement for Analytical Essay" can be a challenging task
that demands a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and a keen analytical ability.
Crafting a strong thesis statement requires careful consideration of the central argument, the
scope of analysis, and the key points that will be explored in the essay. It involves synthesizing
information, conducting thorough research, and formulating a clear and concise statement that
encapsulates the main idea of the analytical essay.
One of the difficulties lies in striking the right balance between specificity and generality in the
thesis statement. It needs to be specific enough to guide the reader on what to expect in the
essay, yet broad enough to allow for a nuanced exploration of the topic. Additionally, ensuring
that the thesis statement is arguable and provokes critical thinking adds another layer of
complexity. This requires a deep dive into the subject matter to identify different perspectives
and potential counterarguments.
Furthermore, the process involves organizing ideas coherently and structuring the essay in a
logical sequence. Each paragraph should contribute to the overall argument, and transitions must
be smooth to maintain the flow of the analysis. The writer must also be mindful of the language
used, ensuring clarity and precision in conveying complex ideas.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "Thesis Statement for Analytical Essay" is a
demanding endeavor that requires a combination of analytical skills, research abilities, and
effective communication. It involves navigating the intricacies of formulating a compelling thesis
statement and subsequently developing a well-organized and coherent essay. For those who find
this task daunting, seeking assistance from professional writing services may be a viable option.

Depression And Adolescent Depression
In 2015, an estimated 3 million adolescents aged 12 to 17 in the United States had
at least one major depressive episode in the past year ( Major Depression Among
Adolescence ). One of the leading mental health issue amongst teen in America is
depression. Depression (major depressive disorder) is defined in the American
Psychiatric Association as causing an overwhelming feeling of sadness and loss of
interest in activity. One must understand the causes of depression, how depression
affects the adolescence, and how to treat adolescence depression in order to help
those suffering from depression. To be successful in helping adolescence suffering
from depression, one must understand the causes of depression. The first of three
factors... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The unstable balancing of hormones in the body can trigger the onset of depression.
When neurotransmitters (natural brain chemicals) are impaired while carrying
signals to other parts of the body, nerve systems and receptors can change which will
cause depression. Environmental factors in ones life is the third cause which can lead
an adolescent to being susceptible to developing depression. Environmental factors
that can cause depression are factors of everyday life that bring stress and discomfort
to the adolescent. The home life of an adolescent will determine the quality of life he
has. Divorce, financial instability, dysfunctional family, lack of sleep, abuse, death,
bulling, and school are just a few of the numerous environmental factors that can
negatively impact the adolescents life leading to depression. Not only is the cause of
depression necessary in understanding those who suffer from depression, but
understanding the affect it has on the adolescent is necessary to help those suffering.
Depression affects the adolescent emotionally, physically, and functionally. In
understanding these three factors, one can understand the mindset and mentality the
depressed adolescent is feeling. Emotions are essential to determining the outcome of
ones day. If ones emotions are unstable, it creates an internal battle of feeling at
peace. Depression causes adolescents to impress negative feelings through their day.

Ironically the 1965 act was in response to issues with low academic performance of
impoverished students (as will be discussed later, standardized testing has a negative
impact on low income students). The groundwork for Common Core as we know it
was laid out much later. During the Bush administration the No Child Left behind
created a standardized test purgatory. Schools facilitated cheating and a chronic issue
with schools lowering the passing rates created unsustainable issues. The economic
recession and the Obama Administration also attempted to reform the system with
what is known as the Race to the Top . Under this system there was a funding
incentive for high performing schools. This system also relied heavily on
standardized testing. An interesting repercussion of the Race to the Top is that it
created a massive data drive to collect student information. Out of these two failed
programs and an economic recession came the drive for Common Core. common
core was developed in 2009 and implemented in 2010, it was then accepted by 45
states. The education industry is (books, software, curriculum) are aligning their
products to match common core. The National Governors Association is the actual
legal owner of the Common Core Standards. The Florida standards which are based
on Common Core were rolled out a little differently. During the 2013 2014 school
Gothic Architecture in Europe Essay
The research paper, shall be concerned with discussion Gothic architecture in Europe
namely England, France, Germany, and Italy starting from 12th to the 16th Centuries.
Architecture was the most original and lasting form of art during the Gothic Period,
which lasted for four centuries starting from the mid 12th century. The impetus for
this architecture was the Roman Catholic Church, which sought to portray their
houses of worship as something which transcended the realm of mankind. It is
interesting to note that many of the Northern European areas were predominately
pagan, and only recently brought into the Church. The imagery provided by Gothic
structural design was something these peoples could more readily understand, as they

This is important to note, as science as we know it had not begun to emerge yet, at
least not in this culture, and many of their beliefs about the world around them was
predicated on religion and superstition. In this respect, the Persians were vastly
superior in scientific knowledge when compared to the Western European
civilizations. The crusades were beneficial since it was one way of importing
knowledge from Persia notably, Mathematics. Mathematics would play a very critical
role in architecture in the centuries to come. Algebra and Geometry are two vital
methods that prove to be precious to architecture and indeed made gothic design
possible. The Catholic Church began using these new mathematical principles to
build their cathedrals. The cathedrals were a challenge to the capabilities of the
civilization at that time and inspired competition between the Dioceses to see who
could build the most outstanding cathedral. This inspired an explosion in art and
technology, and was responsible for creating art in the form of structure. The
Cathedrals were also status symbols. Towns and cities would build them to show how
successful they were. The more elaborate the Cathedral, the more successful the town
or city. This gave rise to the Gothic architectural style, which developed
simultaneously across England, France, Germany, and Italy. The countries developed
their own distinctive technique of Gothic design, which I shall compare and contrast

Fyodor Pavlovich Karamazov is a landowner very known for his strange death.
Fyodor started from nothing and had married a rich, beautiful and intelligent girl
named Adelaida Ivavnova Miusov. The two had a son named Dmitri, but Adelaida
soon had realized the she does not love Fyodor and decided to run away. Some after
time, a news have reached Fyodor that Adelaida had died. Some says that Fyodor
celebrated his freedom others said that he wept like a poor little child. Fyodor left
with their son, he has not served his responsibility to Dmitri so the child was taken
care off by Adelaida s relatives. When Dmitri was being raised, he was taught to
think that he had a huge amount of inheritance that her mother left to her father. He
entered the military and after that went to his father to claim for his inheritance.
Dmitri was deceived by his father about the inheritance and he had accumulated
anger and wanted to fight for his rights. After getting rid of Dmitri way back then
he married again to Sofia Ivanovna. They had 2 sons namely Ivan and Alexei.
Fyodor mistreated her wife. He held immoral and vicious acts in front of her own
wife such as infidelity attending and sleeping with other women, holding orgies and
maltreatment. With these happenings Sofia became mentally unstable and soon died.
Their two sons were taken cared off by the person who was also part of raising
Dmitri up. The two went to school, Ivan
Industrial Safety Differences in Unmanned Aerial Systems
Industrial Safety Differences in Unmanned Aerial Systems
Although they tend to be smaller than manned aircraft including most small general
aviation types, UAVs are indeed aircraft and all of the industrial safety measures that
apply in other forms of aviation also apply here. At this point it is appropriate to
define a few terms; Remotely Piloted Vehicle/Aircraft (RPV/Aircraft) refers to an
aircraft or vehicle piloted from the ground. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) may be
piloted from the ground or autonomously controlled through a software program.
Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) refers to the combination of unmanned vehicle and
all control, sensor, payload and maintenance elements necessary for mission
accomplishment.
Currently the majority of the UAVs operated by the United States are military assets,
and as such are subject to policies, requirements and regulations of the military. These
safety requirements will be briefly discussed. As unmanned systems are integrated
into national airspace they will be operated in increasing numbers by civil
operators, for this reason we will also look at civil safety requirements. UAS will
also present some unique situations which have up to this point not been
experienced; this will require new areas to be incorporated into the aviation industrial
safety arena to ensure our current level of safety is not degraded through their
inclusion. This paper will investigate aviation industrial safety as it applies
specifically to
Ethical Dilemmas In Civil Action
A Civil Action is about an environmental pollution court case in Woburn,
Massachusetts. The case focused on an industrial solvent, trichloroethylene, from a
local leather company, which contaminated a local aquifer that eventually had lethal
consequences on the inhabitants of the town. After Anne Anderson s son dies of
leukemia, she filed a civil lawsuit along with eight other families against The John J.
Riley Tannery by Beatrice Foods and Cryovac Manufacturing W. R. Grace Company
because their industrial operations correlated to fatal cases of cancer and leukemia in
children as well as other health issues reported among the citizens. Anne implored Jan
Schlichtmann, a tenacious personal injury specialist, to take the case. When

The main ethical dilemma encountered occurs because two major companies,
Woburn, W.R. Grace and J Riley Leather, were responsible for polluting Woburn s
drinking water through the negligent dumping of carcinogenic solvents. This
negligence is further compounded by the fact that the companies blatantly knew that
their actions were polluting the local drinking water with trichloroethylene, a labeled
carcinogenic. Furthermore, the companies made no attempt to clean or contain the
hazardous waste, and the companies systematically hide their conspiracy. Their
actions can be justified through the utilitarian ethical theory. Utilitarianism is a
normative theory that focuses the moral correctness of an action on the consequence
rather than the action itself. Additionally, this view is based on the hedonistic view
that humans naturally seek pleasure and avoid pain. In regards to the companies in
the film, they dumped toxic waste into the water supply to save time and expenses
that would otherwise be utilized to hire a company to clean up the toxins. In their
perspective, they avoided the pain of extra expenses and sought the pleasure involved
in saving the money for personal

Quality and Safety. Two sides of the same medal?
Quality and Safety are two commonly used terms generally in various industries and
particularly the aviation industry. For a comprehensive comparison between Quality
and Safety, the first step would be to outline the basic dictionary definitions which are
most relevant.
Quality is defined as:
The standard of something as measured against other things of similar kinds
The degree of excellence of something
General excellence of standard or level

Safety Management Systems SMS
Safety Management System (SMS) is a term used to refer to a comprehensive
business management system designed to manage occupational safety and health
elements in the workplace.[2]
A Safety Management System provides a systematic way to identify hazards and
control risks while maintaining assurance that these risk controls are effective.[3]
SMS can be defined as:
a businesslike approach to safety. It is a systematic, explicit and comprehensive
process for managing safety risks. As with all management systems, a safety
management system provides for goal setting, planning, and measuring performance.
A safety management system is woven into the fabric of an organization. It becomes
part of the culture, the way people do their jobs .[4]
There are three imperatives for adopting a safety management system for a business
these are ethical, legal and financial. There is an implied moral obligation placed on
an employer to ensure that work activities and the place of work to be safe, there are
legislative requirements defined in just about every jurisdiction on how this is to be
achieved and there is a substantial

The Sermon On The Mount ( And The Plain )
Inherent Value in the Sermon on the Mount (and the Plain) Critical analysis of
Christian doctrine often suggests overlapping principles concerning teachings. That
is, the teachings of one individual, such as a disciple of Christ are re interpreted and
introduced by another, heightening discussion on historical relevance, intent, ethical
implications and methods of delivery. The Sermon on the Mount and the Sermon on
the Plain fall under this category of controversial interpretation. One is recognized as
essentially playing off the other, delivering the same message while delivering a new
level of interpretation. Literary interpretation of the gospel is ever changing due to
the influential nature of the modern environment, where current actions shape the
initiatives of the past. While the common understanding is that these sermons lack
independence as one re introduces the theories taught in the previous sermon, the
theory requires further interpretation before formulating a conclusion on the
independent or collective nature of the sermons. As one examines Christian doctrine,
common ground or interpreting the same message throughout becomes a constant
action. That is, disciples and followers of Christ who spread the word to others are
likely to deliver the same message, as the Word of God acts as the founding origin for
these teachings. Thus, differentiating between multiple doctrines has become a
formality initiated by literary scholars, who aim to establish different
Ancient Greek Dichotomy
The ancient Greeks followed a set of values, collectively thought of as paideia, that
shaped both their society and their legacy. However, this led to a dichotomy of
whether the best preservation and propagation of Greek society and paideia
originated with improving and being true to the self or in being consistent with the
civic state. While these differing ideas could come into conflict, often both worked
simultaneously to achieve the same end. In Greek society, athletics represented a
way of expressing one s own personal arГЄte, as well as maintaining the strength of
society. The Olympics was the embodiment of the value placed on athletics and the
glory they bring to the individual along with the polis. Men were able to compete for

Sacrifice of the physical body in warfare was rewarded by bestowing great honor
to the individual, as stated by Pericles in his funeral oration, His merit as a citizen
more than outweighed his demerits as an individual (Reader 43). Despite any past
actions, ceding one s life for the good of the polis reflected such arГЄte that it
negated previous dishonorable behavior. Stoic thought on civic duty, however,
postulated that through reason and self reflection all men could arrive at an
understanding of universal truth, and therefore through improving the mind of the
individual, one is improving society. The Apology however reflects an instance
where this idea comes into conflict with civil society. Socrates calls himself, a sort
of gadfly, given to the state by God (Read 49), a statement stipulating his views on
how self reflection is a benefit rather than a hindrance to the state, though these
views would have him executed. He further states, If you think that by killing men
you can prevent someone from censuring your civil lives you are mistaken (Reader
49), arguing that civic duty entails and requires critique of the state. Cicero does not
contend this outright, but does express his view that people are born into positions in
life, and even if it is not suited to your nature one must perform it with honor and
propriety. He asserts

Analysis the Grasshopper and the Bell Cricket
ANALYSIS
THE GRASSHOPPER AND THE BELL CRICKET
BY: YASUNARI KAWABATA
The grasshopper and the bell cricket is a short story, written by Yasunari Kawabata,
written in a narrative perspective of someone watching children searching for insects
using colored and decorated lanterns. I would like to think that the author is trying to
symbolize life, and that it is not only one path to go. We are all aiming for
acceptance and to fit in to the society, but this story tells us that
The author, who put himself as narrator, describes how he walks through the halls of
the university and approaches the upper school and its playground, and he seems to
get so emotionally attached that he cannot take another turn. I turned right so as not to

Even the narrator comments I felt slightly jealous of the boy, and sheepish . When
the boy gives away the grasshopper to a girl, who was one of many who wanted it,
the girl shouted out Oh! It s not a grasshopper. It s a bell cricket.
I read an analysis on this short story on a blog, called Generation , and I agree with
his thoughts behind the symbolism of the transformation of the bell cricket from
the boy to the girl, he states that it could be translated into the development of love
and how, as rare as it is in the wild, one can captivate with a simple giving gesture.
The narrator goes on to explain the rarity of such a find; even if you have the wit to
look by yourself in a bush away from the other children, there are not many bell
crickets in the world.
I agree on the romantic messages behind this story, but I would also like to think that
it describes, as I mentioned in the beginning of the analysis, life in general with the
hunting of acceptation, that it is not only one way to go. It does not matter what color
or decorations your lantern is, a multi colored is just as beautiful.

American Family Culture
I was raised in the 50 s. My parents came from Europe after the war in 1948 and
began a new life with just the clothes on their back. They had some family here and
every holiday, birthday, and just some weekends in between we would get together.
By the 70 s in was already gradually starting to shift as high schoolseniors were
heading off all over the country expanding their horizons as they embarked on college
life. After college students embarked on new adventures stating their careers away
from their families. Although it seemed subtle at the time, now reflecting back it
seems loud and clear change has arrived. After high school I never moved back
home just like many of my friends and of course this included my cousins.
Eventually my aunts and uncles also moved to different states and everyone was all
over the place. To this day I miss those wholesome days and wished my child could
have had that experience growing up.
I do believe that the first 5 years of life are so very important. How and what you do

maybe a happy medium can be created where they allow more independence but don

within your own ethnic family can continue with families who realize the importance
and will be able to reflect back on a time when European America nurtured their

Heart Rate Response to Baroreceptor Feedback Lab
Fundamental Question: Does the body respond to its environment?
Testable Question: When the body is in the squat position to normal while the time
limit stays the same and how far you squat is the same, will the heart rate recover
after returning to standing position in 10 seconds?
Hypothesis: If the body moves back to normal position from squatting position while
the time limit and squat angle are all relevant in all three trials, then the heart rate
will balance in 10 seconds because the baroreceptors will start the feedback
mechanism and will quickly rebalance the heart rate?

The Benefits Of College Education
Eighty three percent of Americans who have taken an Edward Jones survey say
they cannot afford the expenses of a college education (Levaux). That leaves only
17% of Americans who say they can afford the expenses of college for themselves
or family members. That leaves millions of American who either will be in debt for
many years with student loans or millions of Americans who are not reaching their
potential. The proportion of new high schoolgraduates now appears to be declining.
College educationshould be free to all Americans who have graduated high school
and reached an eligible score on some kind of test that shows they are ready for
what is ahead. College will be accessible to all people regardless of money but
depending only on talent and intelligence. Millions of students will work hard
every day in high school but will not have a chance to get a degree. A lack of
money should not stop an individual from achieving success. If money is the only
reason for not attending college, then that is unfair and getting in the way of a
student trying to pursue his/her dreams. Also, the chances of a student dropping out
would be inferior. Low income students are six times more likely to drop out of high
school (Sikan). Making college tuition free would eliminate the reason for not
graduating. The reason for this is because families that do not have much money are
afraid to send their kid to college because of the huge payments that they will
encounter. So the student gives up
Who Was Responsible For The Sinking Of The Titanic
The Titanic tragedy was not a very happy event, but I am here to share my opinion
on the causes of the sinking of it.
After examining all of the evidence, I have concluded that Captain Smith was the
most significant cause in the sinking of the Titanic at 80 percent. I believe he was
the main cause because he cancelled the lifeboat drills, and his crew decided to not
turn out of the way of the iceberg. Also, only environmental factors matter if they
hadn t crashed into the iceberg.
Many other things aside from Captain Smith also helped in the demise of the Titanic
on April 15, 1912. The pie graph indicates that Design Construction and
Environmental Factors had the least effect on the Titanic s sinking.

Seminole Legends
The Legends of the Seminoles, as told by Betty Mae Jumper, each explore the
universal concepts of cause and effect, and the importance of relationships. Each
legend has a completely different way of exploring the same universal concepts. For
example, the legend may be about two humans as in the legend titled Two Hunters
or it may use two animals as in the other two legends Alligator and The Little Turtle
and the Wolf . Each of these legends teaches the reader something different about
these three universal concepts. The first universal concept that these three legends
explore is cause and effect. This concept is valid in almost every situation. It is as
simple as this, every action has a reaction. In other words, any action that someone...

In the first legend Two Hunters the two hunters go on hunting escapades together
for up to one month at a time (Jumper 23) it is obvious that the two have to have a
good relationship. After the hunter who made a bad decision and ate the fish turns
into a snake his partner still does as he asks and brings his family to see him
(Jumper 24). While the family is visiting with the snake for the first and last time
the snake asks his used to be partner to teach his children how to hunt and to look
after them (Jumper 25). This shows how good of a relationship these two hunters
had, for even after the one hunter made a bad decision the other hunter still
respected his old partner and did exactly as he asked. The importance of
relationships is very clear in this legend; although, one may make a mistake it is
vital for the other to stick by their side until the very end no matter what it may
entail. In the second legend Alligator the importance of relationships is expressed
in a very different way. The rabbit in this legend kills the alligator for no apparent
reason, but what one may not realize is that the rabbit killed the alligator because it
did not know how to have a friend, all it knew how to do was lie and manipulate.
The rabbit always got what it wanted which typically does not make for a very good
relationship (Jumper 27). In this legend the importance of relationships is expressed
through the actions of the rabbit. The rabbit had no relationships which eventually
led it to becoming a murderer, relationships are vital in life because without some
form of interaction one can easily go mad which occurred with the rabbit when it
killed the alligator. The third legend The Little Turtle and the Wolf explores the
importance of relationships in the most obvious way. The little turtle uses the help of
his friends in order to

Pearl Harbor s Attack On Pearl Harbor
At the time of the attack, there were approximately eighty different vessels in the
harbor, most notably eight battleships, three cruisers, four destroyers, one
minelayer, five auxiliary craft, and over 400 aircraft present at Pearl Harbor

USS Enterprise was approximately 150 miles West of Pearl Harbor, the USS
Saratoga was still in San Diego, California, and the USS Lexington was at sea in
the vicinity of Midway Island (Yarnall, 2003). The Japanese Imperial Navy forces

Standards for Mathematics (CA CCSSM) and describe in your own words the
importance of these principles
Make sense of problems and persevere in solving them The importance of this
principle is that students must be able to deeply understand a problem by themselves
this ensure that the student can analyze the problem and plan on how the will solve it.
Reason abstractly and quantitatively It s important that students are able to pause
during solving the problem and continue to analyze, reflect and strategize for the
solution as needed.
Construct viable arguments and critique the reasoning of others it s important for
students to be able to explain and be able to discuss the process into which they
believe a problem should be solved this demonstrates the students understanding on
the concept. They should be able to clarify and answer any questions that arise about
the problem once again displaying a deeper understanding then just being able to
memorize formulas/steps and solving a problem.
Model with mathematics the importance of this principle is to always be able to
relate math problems into real world scenarios for example being able to utilize math
to remodel a bathroom.

Summary Of The Overcoat By Nikolai Gogol
In a time of large, corrupt, and ineffective bureaucracy, Nikolai Gogol looks
provide a humorous perspective on life in Tsarist Russia. Through both The Nose
and The Overcoat, Gogol reveals his true nature as a comical humorist with the
intention of giving readers a laugh but also of mocking human vanity. From the
very beginning of The Overcoat, it becomes clear the story has a comedic nature.
While explaining to the reader the touchiness of departments in Russia, Gogol
gives the district police chief as an example: He plainly demonstrated that all the
imperial institutions were going to the dogs, and that the Czar s sacred name was
being taken in vain; and in proof he appended to the complain a romance, in which
the district chief of police is made to appear about once in every ten pages, and
sometimes in a downright drunken condition (Gogol 1). The scenario Gogol
describes is one of absurdity. How could someone get so worked up over a book
that has no intent of offending them? No normal person would ever become so
hysterical over a piece of literature that indirectly offends them. Claiming that the
whole political system of Russia is being destroyed and that royalty had been
disgraced because of a simple character in a book that resembles oneself is
preposterous. To a rational mind, the police chief s over emotional reaction is clearly
insane, as a normal person does not have the narcissism to take minute details
personally. This laughable situation

history and the principles which governed his style of leadership are still valued
today. Although he had an illustrious career of over 25 years and expanded the
French Empire from Portugal to Russia, his reign came to end at the hands of his

Napoleon quickly learned he was outnumbered by the Allied force, and developed
a strategy to seize the initiative. Napoleon faced an Austrian Army of 200,000,
Russian Army of over 150,000, a Prussian Army of over 100,000, and British Army
of over 100,000 which out numbered the 200,000 he could muster. The French
Commander decided to implement a strategy to divide and attack each army
individually in order to defeat their will. Napoleon believed the Allied Forces
would lose resolve if separated and not come to the aid of another country.2
Napoleon s assessment proved accurate as the Austrian and Russian Army s did
not arrive in time to be relevant, and he was able to split the British and Prussian
forces in Belgium. At the Battle of Ligny, on June 16th, 1815 Napolean was able
to defeat the Prussian Army commanded by General Gebhard von Blucher;
however, he was unable to destroy them. Three days later the Battle of Waterloo
was fought 12 miles south of Brussels. Napoleon s French forces faced the Duke of
Wellington from Britain and General Gebhard von Blucher of Prussia. The Battle of
Waterloo can be broken down into five distinct phases which ultimately lead to the
defeat of Napoleon and the French Army. At approximately eleven in the morning,
the first phase of attacks occurred at Hougoumont in an attempt to be a diversion and

Filibuster Vs Majoritarian Government Essay
Question 2: Filibusters and Majoritarian Government The filibuster is often treated
as a scapegoat in American media and politics. Deadlock in Congress is better
attributed to political division between uncompromising groups rather than specific
procedure. As it stands, the filibuster has grown steadily more lenient since its
original implementation. With this in mind, Congress has performed effectively
before, doing so while encumbered by harsher constraints. Therefore, the fault of
unproductivity can hardly be ascribed to procedural policy alone. With these
considerations, the filibuster must be revised to ensure congressional productivity
while also preserving debate and due deliberation. In 1805, the Senate terminated the
motion to move the previous question a provision which formerly allowed a simple
majority of senators to end debate and proceed to a collective vote. Another
provision Rule XXII, implemented in 1919 later recognized the power of a
supermajority to end debate. Requiring two thirds... Show more content on

The founding fathers maintained an inherent distrust of large government. Despite
conflicting with the majoritarian model, the filibuster demonstrates the original
values and principles taken into account when establishing the United States of
America. The Senate, a lawmaking body formerly elected by state legislatures,
remains representative of individual states rather than majority will. Because each
state sends two representatives, half of congressional senators are elected by less than
twenty percent of the total population. Through intended structure alone, the
government of the United States demonstrates clear preference for the pluralistic
model. In practice, the interests of states carry more influence than the interests of
citizens. Concerning democratic principles, the filibuster is no more undemocratic
than the government
An Argument Of Humanity, Justice, Horror, Duty, Mercy,

All Great things are simple and many can be expressed in simple words: freedom,
justice, horror, duty, mercy, hope. Winston Churchill. The film is persuasive in the
argument of humanity, in its relation to morality. The question of morality is the
question of virtue or in this case the fight between good and evil, also know as yin

The usage of colours black, white, brown, blue, green, yellow, and red, stand alone
are to effective describe good or evil, yin or yang. The colours are also mixed to
show the coexisting harmony of the colours together can bring about a heightened
form of destruction or form of good. For much of the film the colour red is used to
symbolize anger, fury, destruction, and death. The first usage of the colour is with
the branding iron, with the mark of Immortan Joe. The significance of the
branding iron is linked with the feeling of a cage/imprisonment, a mark of
enslavement/ownership. This stance is more emphasised by the wives as they yell
at nux that they are no more than breeders and battle fodder for an old man. Red is
also symbolized as light and warmth in regards to one of the wives, Capable. The
colour blue is used to symbolize peace, healing, knowledge, life, quite, grievance,
and night. The first time the colour is used is in the form of night after the death of
Angharad, the world is drenched in blue except for the four wives, that are shown in
colour with benefit of light. The colour is also shown translucently in water. The

Venture capital(VC), which is known as the risk investment, shows significant role
in promoting the SMEs in raising finance. VC includes business angel financing,

for the small and medium companies which are just starting up.(Dagogo, 2009)

Ivanka Trump Persuasive Speech
(Insert Creative Title ;) )
Many people may believe the First Daughter, Ivanka Trump, is just the rich daughter
of the president. However, she is much more than what society wants to think of her.
Over the last 2 years, Ivanka Trump has risen to become a strong advocate for
Women s Rights and education. Ivanka Trumpis the most influential activist of
female empowerment of the gender gap, proper education, and STEM careers. What
makes Ivanka Trump stand apart is her willingness to make ideas happen. Our society
needs more activists like her.
Today, women all over the world are separated by a gender gap that affects making
the same wages as men. According to a study done by the American Association of
University Women, Women working full time in the United States typically were
paid just 80 percent of what men were paid, a gap of 20 percent (Miller, Kevin).
Ivanka Trump has proven her strong support for shattering the pay gap. The pay
gap has been closing since 1970. It has been estimated to take another 170 years to
close the gap which is unacceptable (Shelbourne, Mallory) according to Ivanka
Trump and World Bank President Jim Yong Kim. Single women without children
earn 94 cents for each dollar earned by a man, whereas married mothers earned
only 77 cents. Gender is no longer a factor in creating the greatest wage
discrepancy in this country. Motherhood is. We are working to change labor laws
were put into place when women were not a significant portion of the workforce.
(Ivanka Trump) (Shelbourne, Mallory) Ivanka Trump is a big influencer to powerful
people in the world. She has spoken with world leaders like Prime Minister of
Canada, Justin Trudeau, and Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel about the gender
pay gap. Talking to world leaders at a Women 20 Summit in Germany, Ivanka
praised Chancellor Merkel for passing a transparent paid leave legislation in
Germany. She said, The United States will look to Germany for legislation that will
benefit families on paid leave. (Abramson, Alana) Ivanka also talked about the
uniqueness of women in the workplace. Proper legislation will help support working

Use Of Weapons In The Medieval Period
In the Medieval Period, people created many inventions to help them with everyday
life, including weapons, armor, and farm equipment. They had to create these things
so they could survive. They had to have weapons to protect themselves from
enemies and animals too. The farm equipment they did have had to work efficiently.
If it broke down it had to be able to be repaired.
In the medieval period they had many weapons to protect themselves and to fight
with. One of the most common weapons was the sword. They used the sword for
fighting in battles, this wasn t the only weapon they used. They also used the very
first crossbows and regular bow and arrow. They used catapults to launch big rocks
and anything to crush buildings and people.
Farming in the medieval period was interesting they did something new almost every
month. January and February, they repaired hunting nets, sharpened tools, gather fire
wood cut firewood, feed the livestock and hunt. They had to do all this during the
cold months because they can t get in the fields, and they can t hunt for bigger game
in the warmer months. When it warmed up they could cut hay, harvest grains, smoke
meat and prepare for the colder months. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Only the higher ups could afford good armor such as plate armor. The helmet kept
their head from getting injured. There chest plate was the biggest armor piece on
their body. It was also the heaviest, knights had to be strong to carry full body armor.
Not only did the knight need weapons and armor but he needed his horse that was
essential. The knights have to be close to their horse so they have trust.
In the medieval period there were a bunch of different weapons and inventions
created to make their life the easier. The knights were trained how to set up their
armor and fight on horses they had to do this. I hope you enjoyed reading this
The War On Drugs And Drugs Essay
The war on drugs have been a critical issue that has repeatedly held a great debate
topic. It was in the 1906 when the first act against drug was put into effect with the
Pure Food and Drug Act which required all over the counter medication to have label
of its ingredients. Under President Nixon the first executive branch office to
coordinate drugpolicy was formed and the Comprehensive Drug Abuse Prevention
and Control Act was put into place. Two years following that the Drug
Enforcement Agency (DEA) was formed. The funding for the war on drugs had
greatly increased over the decades and has reached the record of an annual budget
of $17.8 billion which occurred in 1998. Much of the budget is used to intervene
drug flow on the U.S. border and for interdiction according to Cooper s 1993 War
on Drugs article. Some people agree that having more man power at the U.S.
border will help eliminate the U.S. drug problem while others argue that even
though having more people working the border increases drug seizures there are
still drugs continuing to enter the United States. These may be the very people that
believe in using the budget to provide more educational programs to the younger
generation and having prevention programs will help those that may have become a
drug user if not a addict. The last group of American do not believe either of those
programs have worked in the past and will not work in the future. With those options
gone the only thing left to do it to legalize
Roger Nelson Case
Things are looking up. Roger Nelson felt euphoria from the reversal in fortunes his
new job offered. The job seemed a good fit comporting to skills honed in the military
for him. Among the perks was a trip to MazatlГЎn. More gratifying, he had come
into some disposable income. Margarita Mason paid the bill for his plane ticket and
hotel accommodations. For equipment to do his job, he didn t have to worry: He
could procure whatever items he needed for the right amount bucks, of course. Roger
s focus remained his head, which despite healing throbbed even with the painkiller
medication he was on. With each bout of pain, he remembered the foxholes and
trenches in Iraq and the poor wood, grass, cattle dung, and corrugated tin roof homes
in the Mogadishu... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, the more he trained his thoughts on Fantaye the more new images came
flooding in, revealing her persona life, relationships, and family. It was as if his
brain responded with alacrity to anything he really focused on. He had the ability
to tune out everything else from the focus of his concentration. But it was not
solely Fantaye s life captured by Roger s brain, images of Juan Carlos Espinosa
also took occupancy there. He happened to be the male flight attendant nearby. He
was sporting a tie; the blazer he wore hardly covered the bulge in the mid section.
Roger was appalled this man s private life wasn t an uplifting one, so he tuned him
out. Wow, I don t read their minds. I just sort of know what happened. How the hell is
The Death Of An Ancient Greek Philosopher
Many individuals fear the thought of death given that they feel the uneasiness of not
knowing what happens when one is dead. For example, some fear things like a
continuation of their sense perception post death allowing the possibility of being
punished for all the bad actions in their lifetime. Epicurus, an ancient Greek
philosopher of the Hellenistic period of 323 31 BCE, believed that deathis the end of
our existence and thus argued that the act of fearing death is irrational (Letter to
Menoeceus, 10.124 125). The Epicurean argument I will discuss in this paper is in
support of him claiming the fearof death is irrational is better titled as the privation
of experience argument. In his own words Epicurus claimed that death is nothing
to us in his Letter to Menoeceus (10.124). It is important to clarify that in the
privation of experience argument Epicurus speaks on the state of being dead and
not the process of death. So, for the purpose of this essay, like Epicurus, I will
accept the notion that death is the end of our existence. In this essay I will present
the privation of experience argument in my own words based on my interpretation of
his argument. I will also explain how this Epicurean argument is valid given that one
can live a happy comfortable life simply by having the right attitude about the state of
being dead.
Before I present my interpretation of Epicurus privation of experience argument I
will state that Epicurus held a hedonistic point of view
California Mussels Influence On Mytilus Californianus
Majid Din
College Bio/Per.9
Fall Research Paper
11/17/14
Mytilus Californianus are known as California mussels that form dense mussel beds
and considered one of the most abundant intertidal organisms. They are found
clustered together in the upper middle zone on the open coast. Mytilus
Californianus attach themselves to rocks by byssal threads. They have geographic
range from the Aleutian Islands of Alaska to northern Mexico of Baja California
(Morris et al. 1980). It provides habitat, refuge, and provides food for over 300 other
species including human (rust, 2011). For long period of time, human use these
mussels as a food source. These mussels can grow up to 130 to 150mm in size but
the process usually is attained in three years. Scientists ... Show more content on

Also, according to an article: A Review of California Mussel (Mytilus
Californianus) Fisheries Biology and Fisheries Programs by D. Schmidt: mortality of
this species can be caused by temperature extremes, desiccation at higher intertidal
positions, low salinity, sedimentation, excessive wave action with associated log
battering, predation, and disease and parasites (seed, 1976). In addition, there is
potential for these mussels to go extinct. According to the article: Climate Change,
Keystone Predation, and Biodiversity Loss by Christopher D. G. Harley, an
experimental study indicated two local extinction rates of Mytilus Californianus were
recorded when comparing the results between 1957 1958 and 2009 2010. It was
found that under upper and lower limit of Mytilus Californianus, 236.3 (upper limit)
and 188.3 (lower limit) were present in the area of Muir Creek and 298.7 (upper limit)
and 201.5 (lower limit) were present in the area of Desolation spit through the year
1957 1958. However, the population went extinct in both of these areas throughout
the year 2009 2010. It was mentioned that the 2 sites, Muir Creek and Desolation Spit
lost the population of Mytilus Californianus due to high temperature. Other than
climate change, human have direct impact on the Mytilus Californianus population.
For instance, human visitation
The Stereotypes Of Crime In Oliver Twist By Charles
Dickens
From the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century, London was a
metropolis with a high crime rate. From 1745 to 1820, there were 115,000 people
who made their living by burglary, prostitution, swindle and other criminal acts. It is
horrible when we know that the total population of London at that time was just
960,000.
Presumably there was no other novelist in Victoria era that had such a strong concern
about crime, and incorporated so much description of crime in his works as Charles
Dickens (1812 1870) did. Oliver Twist was the second novel of Dickens published in
a serial form in a magazine titled BentleyКјs Miscellany run by himself from
February 1837 to April 1839 when Dickens was still a journalist. In England, from ...

The theme of good versus evil runs through the novel; Dickens showed that no
matter the difficulty of various circumstances, good will prevail in the end. Dickens
neither used the criminal s name to be the title of the novel nor idealized the
criminal characters in this novel. Those poverty related social problems, but not the
criminal law system per se triggered his writing. Oliver Twist s criminals are poor,
ugly, and unroofed, and they serve as examples to where society steps back in its
commitment to social
Explain what the CPS will do in domestic violence cases,...
MUST MEET FULL CODE TEST
Evidential Stage Ensure sufficient evidence to anticipate a realistic prospect of
conviction against each defendant on each charge, and the jury will be more likely
to convict as a result. The CPS will encourage police to use ACPO guidance to gather
a wide range of evidence.
Public Interest Stage Conviction is more likely to result in a significant sentence if
the:
Offence involved a weapon or threat of violence
Offence was carried out in the presence of a child
Suspects previous conviction is relevant to the offence
The prosecutor must also consider the views of the victim in regard to the impact of
the offence. With sexual offences the safety of victim and children must be
considered.

Information held by an IDVA, for example history of abuse or any substance misuse
is classed as third party information.
ATTRITION WITHDRAWAL
The withdrawal rate for domestic abuse and sexual abuse case is fairly high. If a
victim withdraws their support for a prosecution the CPS will want to know why.
They will carry out an interview to ascertain why the victim is wishing to withdraw
and ascertain whether any pressure is being placed on the victim. There are several
reasons why a victim may withdraw:
The abuser has apologised and the victim wishes to give the abuser another chance
They don t want their children s father to have a criminal record.
They may have threatened or pressured or scared at what the abuser/his family may
do if they proceed.
Or they may not want to give evidence in court
In some circumstances the statement can be used as evidence without the support of
the victim and the final decision in regards to continue with the prosecution will
depend on the CPS and police seriousness of the crime and available evidence. It may
be decided it s in the public interest despite the wishes of the victim.
SPECIAL MEASURES
Prosecutors normally meet witnesses at a relatively early stage in the proceedings to
discuss special measures and related issues. The witness s overall subjective
experience of participating in criminal proceedings might thereby be enhanced.
In some cases, the CPS will encourage the court to agree to allow a witness to
Honor In Julius Caesar Research Paper
The theme of honor in Julius Caesar is portrayed as a mask that corrupt people
hide behind. Brutus is the perfect role model for honor that all try to follow
behind, I love the name of honour more than I fear death (I. ii. 36). Brutus would
rather die than be unhonorable, and he lets this mask his decision making. He
doesn t want to kill Caesar because of his honor, then changes his mind and kills
Caesar, because of honor. The reason Cassius and Cinna wanted Brutus involved
with the plan was so people would take it seriously, and would be more prone to
forgive the conspirators for killing Caesar. The conspirators realize the Romans
would listen and forgive an honorable man, O Cassius, if you could But win noble
Brutus to our party (I.

Thesis Statement For Analytical Essay

  • 1. Thesis Statement For Analytical Essay Writing an essay on the topic "Thesis Statement for Analytical Essay" can be a challenging task that demands a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter and a keen analytical ability. Crafting a strong thesis statement requires careful consideration of the central argument, the scope of analysis, and the key points that will be explored in the essay. It involves synthesizing information, conducting thorough research, and formulating a clear and concise statement that encapsulates the main idea of the analytical essay. One of the difficulties lies in striking the right balance between specificity and generality in the thesis statement. It needs to be specific enough to guide the reader on what to expect in the essay, yet broad enough to allow for a nuanced exploration of the topic. Additionally, ensuring that the thesis statement is arguable and provokes critical thinking adds another layer of complexity. This requires a deep dive into the subject matter to identify different perspectives and potential counterarguments. Furthermore, the process involves organizing ideas coherently and structuring the essay in a logical sequence. Each paragraph should contribute to the overall argument, and transitions must be smooth to maintain the flow of the analysis. The writer must also be mindful of the language used, ensuring clarity and precision in conveying complex ideas. In conclusion, writing an essay on the topic "Thesis Statement for Analytical Essay" is a demanding endeavor that requires a combination of analytical skills, research abilities, and effective communication. It involves navigating the intricacies of formulating a compelling thesis statement and subsequently developing a well-organized and coherent essay. The unstable balancing of hormones in the body can trigger the onset of depression. When neurotransmitters (natural brain chemicals) are impaired while carrying signals to other parts of the body, nerve systems and receptors can change which will cause depression. Environmental factors in ones life is the third cause which can lead an adolescent to being susceptible to developing depression. Environmental factors that can cause depression are factors of everyday life that bring stress and discomfort to the adolescent. The home life of an adolescent will determine the quality of life he has. Divorce, financial instability, dysfunctional family, lack of sleep, abuse, death, bulling, and school are just a few of the numerous environmental factors that can negatively impact the adolescents life leading to depression. Not only is the cause of depression necessary in understanding those who suffer from depression, but understanding the affect it has on the adolescent is necessary to help those suffering. Depression affects the adolescent emotionally, physically, and functionally. In understanding these three factors, one can understand the mindset and mentality the depressed adolescent is feeling. Emotions are essential to determining the outcome of ones day. If ones emotions are unstable, it creates an internal battle of feeling at peace. Depression causes adolescents to impress negative feelings through their day. According to the National Institute of Mental

Ironically the 1965 act was in response to issues with low academic performance of impoverished students (as will be discussed later, standardized testing has a negative impact on low income students). The groundwork for Common Core as we know it was laid out much later. During the Bush administration the No Child Left behind created a standardized test purgatory. Schools facilitated cheating and a chronic issue with schools lowering the passing rates created unsustainable issues. The economic recession and the Obama Administration also attempted to reform the system with what is known as the Race to the Top . Under this system there was a funding incentive for high performing schools. This system also relied heavily on standardized testing. An interesting repercussion of the Race to the Top is that it created a massive data drive to collect student information. Out of these two failed programs and an economic recession came the drive for Common Core. common core was developed in 2009 and implemented in 2010, it was then accepted by 45 states. The education industry is (books, software, curriculum) are aligning their products to match common core. The National Governors Association is the actual legal owner of the Common Core Standards. Gothic Architecture in Europe Essay The research paper, shall be concerned with discussion Gothic architecture in Europe namely England, France, Germany, and Italy starting from 12th to the 16th Centuries. Architecture was the most original and lasting form of art during the Gothic Period, which lasted for four centuries starting from the mid 12th century. The impetus for this architecture was the Roman Catholic Church, which sought to portray their houses of worship as something which transcended the realm of mankind. It is interesting to note that many of the Northern European areas were predominately pagan, and only recently brought into the Church. The imagery provided by Gothic structural design was something these peoples could more readily understand, as they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is important to note, as science as we know it had not begun to emerge yet, at least not in this culture, and many of their beliefs about the world around them was predicated on religion and superstition. In this respect, the Persians were vastly superior in scientific knowledge when compared to the Western European civilizations. The crusades were beneficial since it was one way of importing knowledge from Persia notably, Mathematics. Mathematics would play a very critical role in architecture in the centuries to come. Algebra and Geometry are two vital methods that prove to be precious to architecture and indeed made gothic design possible. The Catholic Church began using these new mathematical principles to build their cathedrals. The cathedrals were a challenge to the capabilities of the civilization at that time and inspired competition between the Dioceses to see who could build the most outstanding cathedral. This inspired an explosion in art and technology, and was responsible for creating art in the form of structure. The Cathedrals were also status symbols. Towns and cities would build them to show how successful they were. The more elaborate the Cathedral, the more successful the town or city. This gave rise to the Gothic architectural style, which developed simultaneously across England, France, Germany, and Italy. The countries developed their own distinctive technique of Gothic design, which I shall compare and contrast

Industrial Safety Differences in Unmanned Aerial Systems Industrial Safety Differences in Unmanned Aerial Systems Although they tend to be smaller than manned aircraft including most small general aviation types, UAVs are indeed aircraft and all of the industrial safety measures that apply in other forms of aviation also apply here. At this point it is appropriate to define a few terms; Remotely Piloted Vehicle/Aircraft (RPV/Aircraft) refers to an aircraft or vehicle piloted from the ground. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) may be piloted from the ground or autonomously controlled through a software program. Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) refers to the combination of unmanned vehicle and all control, sensor, payload and maintenance elements necessary for mission accomplishment. Currently the majority of the UAVs operated by the United States are military assets, and as such are subject to policies, requirements and regulations of the military. These safety requirements will be briefly discussed. As unmanned systems are integrated into national airspace they will be operated in increasing numbers by civil operators, for this reason we will also look at civil safety requirements. UAS will also present some unique situations which have up to this point not been experienced; this will require new areas to be incorporated into the aviation industrial safety arena to ensure our current level of safety is not degraded through their inclusion. This paper will investigate aviation industrial safety as it applies specifically to

The main ethical dilemma encountered occurs because two major companies, Woburn, W.R. Grace and J Riley Leather, were responsible for polluting Woburn s drinking water through the negligent dumping of carcinogenic solvents. This negligence is further compounded by the fact that the companies blatantly knew that their actions were polluting the local drinking water with trichloroethylene, a labeled carcinogenic. Furthermore, the companies made no attempt to clean or contain the hazardous waste, and the companies systematically hide their conspiracy. Their actions can be justified through the utilitarian ethical theory. Utilitarianism is a normative theory that focuses the moral correctness of an action on the consequence rather than the action itself. Additionally, this view is based on the hedonistic view that humans naturally seek pleasure and avoid pain. In regards to the companies in the film, they dumped toxic waste into the water supply to save time and expenses that would otherwise be utilized to hire a company to clean up the toxins. In their perspective, they avoided the pain of extra expenses and sought the pleasure involved in saving the money for personal

  • 11. The Sermon On The Mount ( And The Plain ) Inherent Value in the Sermon on the Mount (and the Plain) Critical analysis of Christian doctrine often suggests overlapping principles concerning teachings. That is, the teachings of one individual, such as a disciple of Christ are re interpreted and introduced by another, heightening discussion on historical relevance, intent, ethical implications and methods of delivery. The Sermon on the Mount and the Sermon on the Plain fall under this category of controversial interpretation. One is recognized as essentially playing off the other, delivering the same message while delivering a new level of interpretation. Literary interpretation of the gospel is ever changing due to the influential nature of the modern environment, where current actions shape the initiatives of the past. While the common understanding is that these sermons lack independence as one re introduces the theories taught in the previous sermon, the theory requires further interpretation before formulating a conclusion on the independent or collective nature of the sermons. As one examines Christian doctrine, common ground or interpreting the same message throughout becomes a constant action. That is, disciples and followers of Christ who spread the word to others are likely to deliver the same message, as the Word of God acts as the founding origin for these teachings. Thus, differentiating between multiple doctrines has become a formality initiated by literary scholars, who aim to establish different
  • 12. Ancient Greek Dichotomy The ancient Greeks followed a set of values, collectively thought of as paideia, that shaped both their society and their legacy. However, this led to a dichotomy of whether the best preservation and propagation of Greek society and paideia originated with improving and being true to the self or in being consistent with the civic state. While these differing ideas could come into conflict, often both worked simultaneously to achieve the same end. In Greek society, athletics represented a way of expressing one s own personal arГЄte, as well as maintaining the strength of society. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sacrifice of the physical body in warfare was rewarded by bestowing great honor to the individual, as stated by Pericles in his funeral oration, His merit as a citizen more than outweighed his demerits as an individual (Reader 43). Despite any past actions, ceding one s life for the good of the polis reflected such arГЄte that it negated previous dishonorable behavior. Stoic thought on civic duty, however, postulated that through reason and self reflection all men could arrive at an understanding of universal truth, and therefore through improving the mind of the individual, one is improving society. The Apology however reflects an instance where this idea comes into conflict with civil society. Socrates calls himself, a sort of gadfly, given to the state by God (Read 49), a statement stipulating his views on how self reflection is a benefit rather than a hindrance to the state, though these views would have him executed. He further states, If you think that by killing men you can prevent someone from censuring your civil lives you are mistaken (Reader 49), arguing that civic duty entails and requires critique of the state. Cicero does not contend this outright, but does express his view that people are born into positions in life, and even if it is not suited to your nature one must perform it with honor and propriety. He asserts

I read an analysis on this short story on a blog, called Generation , and I agree with his thoughts behind the symbolism of the transformation of the bell cricket from the boy to the girl, he states that it could be translated into the development of love and how, as rare as it is in the wild, one can captivate with a simple giving gesture. The narrator goes on to explain the rarity of such a find; even if you have the wit to look by yourself in a bush away from the other children, there are not many bell crickets in the world. I agree on the romantic messages behind this story, but I would also like to think that it describes, as I mentioned in the beginning of the analysis, life in general with the hunting of acceptation, that it is not only one way to go. It does not matter what color or decorations your lantern is, a multi colored is just as beautiful. [ 1 ]. That leaves only 17% of Americans who say they can afford the expenses of college for themselves or family members. That leaves millions of American who either will be in debt for many years with student loans or millions of Americans who are not reaching their potential. The proportion of new high schoolgraduates now appears to be declining. College educationshould be free to all Americans who have graduated high school and reached an eligible score on some kind of test that shows they are ready for what is ahead. College will be accessible to all people regardless of money but depending only on talent and intelligence. Millions of students will work hard every day in high school but will not have a chance to get a degree. A lack of money should not stop an individual from achieving success. If money is the only reason for not attending college, then that is unfair and getting in the way of a student trying to pursue his/her dreams. Also, the chances of a student dropping out would be inferior. Low income students are six times more likely to drop out of high school (Sikan). Making college tuition free would eliminate the reason for not graduating. The reason for this is because families that do not have much money are afraid to send their kid to college because of the huge payments that they will encounter. So the student gives up

After examining all of the evidence, I have concluded that Captain Smith was the most significant cause in the sinking of the Titanic at 80 percent. I believe he was the main cause because he cancelled the lifeboat drills, and his crew decided to not turn out of the way of the iceberg. Also, only environmental factors matter if they hadn t crashed into the iceberg. Many other things aside from Captain Smith also helped in the demise of the Titanic on April 15, 1912. For example, the legend may be about two humans as in the legend titled Two Hunters or it may use two animals as in the other two legends Alligator and The Little Turtle and the Wolf . Each of these legends teaches the reader something different about these three universal concepts. The first universal concept that these three legends explore is cause and effect. While the family is visiting with the snake for the first and last time the snake asks his used to be partner to teach his children how to hunt and to look after them (Jumper 25). This shows how good of a relationship these two hunters had, for even after the one hunter made a bad decision the other hunter still respected his old partner and did exactly as he asked. The importance of relationships is very clear in this legend; although, one may make a mistake it is vital for the other to stick by their side until the very end no matter what it may entail. In the second legend Alligator the importance of relationships is expressed in a very different way. The rabbit in this legend kills the alligator for no apparent reason, but what one may not realize is that the rabbit killed the alligator because it did not know how to have a friend, all it knew how to do was lie and manipulate. The rabbit always got what it wanted which typically does not make for a very good relationship (Jumper 27). In this legend the importance of relationships is expressed through the actions of the rabbit. The rabbit had no relationships which eventually led it to becoming a murderer, relationships are vital in life because without some form of interaction one can easily go mad which occurred with the rabbit when it killed the alligator. The third legend The Little Turtle and the Wolf explores the importance of relationships in the most obvious way. The little turtle uses the help of his friends in order to

From the very beginning of The Overcoat, it becomes clear the story has a comedic nature. While explaining to the reader the touchiness of departments in Russia, Gogol gives the district police chief as an example: He plainly demonstrated that all the imperial institutions were going to the dogs, and that the Czar s sacred name was being taken in vain; and in proof he appended to the complain a romance, in which the district chief of police is made to appear about once in every ten pages, and sometimes in a downright drunken condition (Gogol 1). No normal person would ever become so hysterical over a piece of literature that indirectly offends them. • 35. Filibuster Vs Majoritarian Government Essay Question 2: Filibusters and Majoritarian Government The filibuster is often treated as a scapegoat in American media and politics. Deadlock in Congress is better attributed to political division between uncompromising groups rather than specific procedure. As it stands, the filibuster has grown steadily more lenient since its original implementation. With this in mind, Congress has performed effectively before, doing so while encumbered by harsher constraints. Therefore, the fault of unproductivity can hardly be ascribed to procedural policy alone. With these considerations, the filibuster must be revised to ensure congressional productivity while also preserving debate and due deliberation. In 1805, the Senate terminated the motion to move the previous question a provision which formerly allowed a simple majority of senators to end debate and proceed to a collective vote. • 42. Roger Nelson Case Things are looking up. Roger Nelson felt euphoria from the reversal in fortunes his new job offered. The job seemed a good fit comporting to skills honed in the military for him. Among the perks was a trip to MazatlГЎn. More gratifying, he had come into some disposable income. Margarita Mason paid the bill for his plane ticket and hotel accommodations. For equipment to do his job, he didn t have to worry: He could procure whatever items he needed for the right amount bucks, of course. Roger s focus remained his head, which despite healing throbbed even with the painkiller medication he was on. With each bout of pain, he remembered the foxholes and trenches in Iraq and the poor wood, grass, cattle dung, and corrugated tin roof homes in the Mogadishu... It was as if his brain responded with alacrity to anything he really focused on. He had the ability to tune out everything else from the focus of his concentration. But it was not solely Fantaye s life captured by Roger s brain, images of Juan Carlos Espinosa also took occupancy there. He happened to be the male flight attendant nearby. He was sporting a tie; the blazer he wore hardly covered the bulge in the mid section. Roger was appalled this man s private life wasn t an uplifting one, so he tuned him out. Wow, I don t read their minds. I just sort of know what happened. How the hell is
  • 43. The Death Of An Ancient Greek Philosopher Many individuals fear the thought of death given that they feel the uneasiness of not knowing what happens when one is dead. For example, some fear things like a continuation of their sense perception post death allowing the possibility of being punished for all the bad actions in their lifetime. Epicurus, an ancient Greek philosopher of the Hellenistic period of 323 31 BCE, believed that deathis the end of our existence and thus argued that the act of fearing death is irrational (Letter to Menoeceus, 10.124 125). The Epicurean argument I will discuss in this paper is in support of him claiming the fearof death is irrational is better titled as the privation of experience argument. In his own words Epicurus claimed that death is nothing to us in his Letter to Menoeceus (10.124). It is important to clarify that in the privation of experience argument Epicurus speaks on the state of being dead and not the process of death. So, for the purpose of this essay, like Epicurus, I will accept the notion that death is the end of our existence. In this essay I will present the privation of experience argument in my own words based on my interpretation of his argument. I will also explain how this Epicurean argument is valid given that one can live a happy comfortable life simply by having the right attitude about the state of being dead. Before I present my interpretation of Epicurus privation of experience argument I will state that Epicurus held a hedonistic point of view
  • 44. California Mussels Influence On Mytilus Californianus Majid Din College Bio/Per.9 Fall Research Paper 11/17/14 Mytilus Californianus are known as California mussels that form dense mussel beds and considered one of the most abundant intertidal organisms. They are found clustered together in the upper middle zone on the open coast. Mytilus Californianus attach themselves to rocks by byssal threads. They have geographic range from the Aleutian Islands of Alaska to northern Mexico of Baja California (Morris et al. 1980). It provides habitat, refuge, and provides food for over 300 other species including human (rust, 2011). For long period of time, human use these mussels as a food source. These mussels can grow up to 130 to 150mm in size but the process usually is attained in three years. Scientists ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also, according to an article: A Review of California Mussel (Mytilus Californianus) Fisheries Biology and Fisheries Programs by D. Schmidt: mortality of this species can be caused by temperature extremes, desiccation at higher intertidal positions, low salinity, sedimentation, excessive wave action with associated log battering, predation, and disease and parasites (seed, 1976). In addition, there is potential for these mussels to go extinct. According to the article: Climate Change, Keystone Predation, and Biodiversity Loss by Christopher D. G. Harley, an experimental study indicated two local extinction rates of Mytilus Californianus were recorded when comparing the results between 1957 1958 and 2009 2010. It was found that under upper and lower limit of Mytilus Californianus, 236.3 (upper limit) and 188.3 (lower limit) were present in the area of Muir Creek and 298.7 (upper limit) and 201.5 (lower limit) were present in the area of Desolation spit through the year 1957 1958. However, the population went extinct in both of these areas throughout the year 2009 2010. It was mentioned that the 2 sites, Muir Creek and Desolation Spit lost the population of Mytilus Californianus due to high temperature. Other than climate change, human have direct impact on the Mytilus Californianus population. For instance, human visitation
  • 45. The Stereotypes Of Crime In Oliver Twist By Charles Dickens From the end of the 18th century to the beginning of the 19th century, London was a metropolis with a high crime rate. From 1745 to 1820, there were 115,000 people who made their living by burglary, prostitution, swindle and other criminal acts. It is horrible when we know that the total population of London at that time was just 960,000. Presumably there was no other novelist in Victoria era that had such a strong concern about crime, and incorporated so much description of crime in his works as Charles Dickens (1812 1870) did. Oliver Twist was the second novel of Dickens published in a serial form in a magazine titled BentleyКјs Miscellany run by himself from February 1837 to April 1839 when Dickens was still a journalist. The theme of good versus evil runs through the novel; Dickens showed that no matter the difficulty of various circumstances, good will prevail in the end. Dickens neither used the criminal s name to be the title of the novel nor idealized the criminal characters in this novel. Those poverty related social problems, but not the criminal law system per se triggered his writing. Oliver Twist s criminals are poor, ugly, and unroofed, and they serve as examples to where society steps back in its commitment to social

Information held by an IDVA, for example history of abuse or any substance misuse is classed as third party information. ATTRITION WITHDRAWAL The withdrawal rate for domestic abuse and sexual abuse case is fairly high. If a victim withdraws their support for a prosecution the CPS will want to know why. They will carry out an interview to ascertain why the victim is wishing to withdraw and ascertain whether any pressure is being placed on the victim. There are several reasons why a victim may withdraw: The abuser has apologised and the victim wishes to give the abuser another chance They don t want their children s father to have a criminal record. They may have threatened or pressured or scared at what the abuser/his family may do if they proceed. Or they may not want to give evidence in court In some circumstances the statement can be used as evidence without the support of the victim and the final decision in regards to continue with the prosecution will depend on the CPS and police seriousness of the crime and available evidence. It may be decided it s in the public interest despite the wishes of the victim. SPECIAL MEASURES Prosecutors normally meet witnesses at a relatively early stage in the proceedings to discuss special measures and related issues. The witness s overall subjective experience of participating in criminal proceedings might thereby be enhanced. In some cases, the CPS will encourage the court to agree to allow a witness to
  • 47. Honor In Julius Caesar Research Paper The theme of honor in Julius Caesar is portrayed as a mask that corrupt people hide behind. Brutus is the perfect role model for honor that all try to follow behind, I love the name of honour more than I fear death (I. ii. 36). Brutus would rather die than be unhonorable, and he lets this mask his decision making. He doesn t want to kill Caesar because of his honor, then changes his mind and kills Caesar, because of honor. The reason Cassius and Cinna wanted Brutus involved with the plan was so people would take it seriously, and would be more prone to forgive the conspirators for killing Caesar. The conspirators realize the Romans would listen and forgive an honorable man, O Cassius, if you could But win noble Brutus to our party (I.
