Argumentative Essay Smoking
Crafting an essay on this particular topic presents a myriad of challenges that require careful
navigation. Firstly, delving into the subject of smoking demands a comprehensive understanding
of its multifaceted nature, encompassing health, social, and ethical dimensions. One must
grapple with a plethora of scientific research, statistical data, and expert opinions to construct a
well-informed argument. Moreover, the contentious nature of the topic means that one must
tread cautiously, considering various perspectives and anticipating counterarguments.
Furthermore, articulating a persuasive argument against smoking requires not only factual
evidence but also a compelling narrative that resonates with the audience. This necessitates
adeptness in persuasive writing techniques, such as employing rhetorical devices, crafting a
coherent structure, and utilizing effective language to engage and persuade readers.
Additionally, addressing the complexities surrounding smoking demands sensitivity and
empathy towards individuals affected by addiction and societal pressures. Balancing the
condemnation of smoking with empathy towards smokers requires a nuanced approach,
acknowledging the personal struggles while advocating for societal change.
In conclusion, composing an essay on this topic entails navigating through a maze of scientific
data, societal implications, and ethical considerations while maintaining a persuasive and
empathetic tone. It requires a blend of research skills, persuasive writing techniques, and
empathy towards those affected. Despite the challenges, crafting a compelling argument against
smoking is not only intellectually stimulating but also contributes to promoting public health and
well-being.

Marketing Strategies For Uber s Marketing Strategy
Current Marketing Strategy
By December 2015, Uber has raised total equity funding of $6.61 billion in 12
rounds from 52 investors (Exhibit 2: Uber s Investment Rounds) (CrunchBase,
2015). Compared to its seed capital of $200,000, the company has expanded
enormously in these few years. Besides its evolving service lines, Uber is actively
investing and developing marketing campaigns. This is highly related to Uber s
success in attracting customers, which is the most important revenue stream of the
company.
The objective for Uber s marketing strategy is to attract as many new users to sign up
with Uber as possible. These targeted new users are the people who have smartphones
and are familiar with functions. This brings the targeted segment ... Show more

New users sign up with Uber by using the referral code can have one free ride up to a
specific amount of money. The original user can also get a same free ride when the

Event Stunts and Partnership
Accompanied by the evolution of Uber s service, its marketing strategies are also
expanding. One of its most successful marketing strategies is to using special
events or holidays to offer customers convenient service in order to acquire new
users. Michelle Broderick, a former member of Uber marketing team, said that
they are trying to get their customers promoting Uber for them. This creates a more
genuine promotional campaign and usually proves more a cost efficient way to
advertise, she said. Some of the marketing stunts include Motorcades for President
s Day which allowed customers ride in the Presidential motorcade in DC; Ice
Cream truck event to honor National Ice Cream Month. Users could order ice
cream through Uber app and then Uber drivers delivered a premium packaged ice
cream set to your door. Uber has also teamed up with Cheezburger and the ASPCA
in October 2013 and 2014 for its Uber Kittens promotion, which delivered kittens to
users to play with for 15 minutes in several cities. See Exhibit 3 for a selected list of
marketing events. Most of these events were launched through a collaboration with
other companies like the Uber Kitten event mentioned above, for instance.
Stamp Out Smoking Ad Campaign Analysis
Like many states, the Arkansas Department of Health is thoroughly engaged in
attempting to improve the wellbeing of its citizens. In Arkansas, there are free
tobacco quitline referral programs. Once a referral is submitted, the tobacco or
nicotine user will receive a call from a Quit Counselor within 24 hours. Anyone who
is referred should be planning a quit date within the next 30 days. Quit Counselors
work with tobaccoand nicotineusers to create a customized, individual quit plan,
which includes free counseling services by phone, online, or both. Although the
ADH focuses on all aspects of smokers, the Arkansas Department of health has a
strong passion to help those who suffer from second hand smoke. Plastered
throughout Arkansas cities and on nearly every television, the ADH runs ads of
children both young and old that suffer from second hand smoke. Perhaps one of the
strongest ads is the one that has a picture of a hand grenade and a cigarette and says
they are both capable of killing anyone within forty feet. With the ad campaign Stamp
Out Smoking, healthcare agencies are able to appeal to smokers emotions. The guilt
of smokers when they know their cigarette could harm others may... Show more

Secondhand smoke is responsible for between 150,000 and 300,000 lower
respiratory tract infections in infants and children under 18 months of age, resulting
in between 7,500 and 15,000 hospitalizations each year. It also causes 430 sudden
infant death syndrome (SIDS) deaths in the U.S. annually. More than twenty four
million children have been exposed to second hand smoke. Older children who are
exposed to second hand smoke get sick more often and are more at risk of
bronchitis and pneumonia due to their lungs growing less. By placing the images of
the young children on the ads, it shows that those who do not have the option of
whether they want to smoke or not can still suffer from the side effects of others
Young People Chapter Summaries
I would say that the first chapters of the book are very captivating. I agree with the
author when he says that young people are taught to do what they do, and that
people or society, to a point are considered responsible for the actions and attitudes
of young people is very intense. Especially, because I feel that most of the time
adults themselves lack maturity. Same as the author, I think that every young
individual goes through a stage of struggle in life and I also think that this struggle
can be dangerous sometimes because adult s influences do matter and play a big
role. Also, I think that parents have a big responsibility as well. If parents are not
constantly involved in what is going on in their kids life, they can interpreted this as
if the parents don t care about them, therefore, they can do whatever they pleased....

I personally like how he connects different stories with different people from
different religions and how he learns something new from each one of them. I like
his attitude of openness and acceptance, he is not judgmental or rejecting of others
religions. I think that his experiences are what helped him find his true identity. I
also think that in our adolescent years we experience a lot of similar new things as
the author did; we emerge into new ideas and don t stop to think that there are
limits. In general, I really admire his motivation to do help others and to try to find
sense to the struggles of equality, to become a community of people who share the
same practices. Overall, I enjoyed his writing because I think it relates very much
with all young adolescent that come from other countries and have difficulties

What Is Lyra s Journey Of Growing Up
Growing up isn t as easy as it seems, it s a very difficult process that we go through
in our life. Like from the novel Northern Lights by the author Philip Pullman, Lyra
became her own individual once she went against her mother and said no to the
separation she wasn t as innocent as we would had thought. All children grow up
but some people as they get older they grow apart from their inner self, from who
they really are either to fit in to or for religious reasons. Like Lyra s mom who was
so distant from her soul (daemon), she grew to be an alien and stranger to herself,
she didn t actually reach adulthood as an individual. While on the other hand, Lyra
developed at a very young age and became more mature than her own parents. Her
cleverness and disobedient character and her insistence on becoming something
gave her the chance to mature. To grow up isn t just a physical change in
appearance, it s more of a mental and spiritual growth. Just like what we noticed
between Lyra and her mom in the book Northern Lights that was about the journey
of growing up and how some adults never do. This paper will explain how growing
up is shown and who actually develops and... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

She didn t accept her mother s choices and actions so she had to find her own path
in life. Her mom was not a responsible adult so Lyra could not allow herself to be
like her. The only reason Lyra had to be disobedient was because of her parents
beliefs, she couldn t accept the separation and what they were doing to the children.
To her the way they treated children was pure cruelty. A lot of critics said that
Pullman was against religion and he was encouraging children to disobey their
parents. But he wasn t. He was actually trying to help people think about who they
really are and stop pretending to be something they are not, and he wanted to
encourage children to follow their own

U.s. The Minimum Wage
U.S and The Minimum Wage
The question whether we should raise the minimum wage came up a lot in the last
election. In fact, politicians and the media have of course done an amazing job at
polarizing the issue. Most people may know that the federal minimum wage in the
U.S. is currently $7.25 an hour, but there are about 29 states that have their own
minimum wages that are higher than the federal requirement. States such as
Massachusetts and California go as high as $10 dollars per hour. Actually, some cities
like Washington, DC and Seattle have passed an even higher minimum of $15 per
hour. Although the minimum wageis an important issue, unfortunately, it is usually
grossly oversimplified by both proponents and opponents. Before deciding ... Show

Similarly, a survey of over 1000 employers and HR specialists show that:
If the minimum wage were raised to $10.10 an hour, as President Obama has
proposed, 38 percent of employers who currently pay employees minimum wage
say that they would have to let some employees go to cover the cost. Among the
same group, 54 percent say they would reduce hiring, and 65 percent say they would
raise prices on their goods and services (Kast).
In other words, raising the minimum wage will clearly result in laying off
employees. The advocates of increasing the minimum wage are so innocent to
believe that increasing the minimum wage will help them get out of poverty.
Nonetheless, it actually does not only help them get more money from their job,
but it also make them to be unemployed. Thus, with all that in mind, what would
happen if people raise the minimum wage? It s important to remember though that
not all minimum wage increases are the same and a more modest increase to nine
dollars like President Obama suggested in the past will obviously have less of an
impact on the economy than an increase to $15 like some others are pushing for.
Now in terms of projections, if the minimum wage were to increase to ten dollars and
ten cents like some politicians have proposed, it is estimated that about 35 millions
employees would be getting a raise (Copper). Those numbers sound great, but this
optimistic prediction doesn t take into account the fact that some people might be
The Good Earth Book Report
The novel, The Good Earth, opens with a poor Chinese farmer named Wang Lung
preparing for his marriage day. Wang is a hard working farmer who lives with his
aged father. On his wedding day, he is given a wife, a slave from the Great House
of Hwang, which was the wealthy and noble people of the area. With his new wife,
O Lan, he proceeds to have a son. When O Lan goes back to the House of Hwang
to show her old lords her newborn, she comes back to Wang Lung with interesting
news. She tells him about the broken infrastructure of the House of Hwang, due to
the opium usage of all the nobles, and all the money being spent freely by the
nobles. Because of the monetary troubles, the Old Lord, the Lord of the House of
Hwang, was selling his vast lands... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Almost right after the birth of Wang s second son, O Lan is pregnant again, but
this time, with a girl. During this time, Wang Lung s uncle is in need of money to
support his family. His uncle blackmails him into giving him the silver, otherwise
the name of his family will be disgraced. A while after this incident, a great famine
rises throughout Wang Lung s area. The other citizens are starving, and Wang
Lung s uncle begins to spread lies about Wang Lung and his family. These lies
bring the hungry citizens into Wang Lung s house and they begin to cause trouble,
but the understanding voice of O Lan calms them down. Wang Lung decides to
head south, since the famine has destroyed his land and his home. Down south, the
family finds that they each get a bowl of rice every morning, but they have to beg
for their pay. Wang decides that he cannot beg and he takes the job of a ricksha
driver. During one of these days, he sees army men pull poor men off the streets,
and there is soon talk of war and rebellion. One night, the poor citizens are seen
going through the nobles houses, and Wang comes across a noble trying to flee. He
gets the noble to give him gold, and spares his
The Deprivation Of Heterosexual Relationships
The third is deprivation of heterosexual relationships. The prisoners are deprived of
heterosexual relationships which creates sexual frustration. There are some stimuli
that may help but it not enough for some. Sadly because of this lack of heterosexual
relationships, some prisoners resort to rapes and victimization to release some of that
frustration. This deprivation may have some effects on the prisoners masculinity and
their self image. The fourth is the deprivation of autonomy. The prisoners are
subjected to rules and commands designed to control their behavior. They cannot
make choices for themselves since they must follow those specific rules and
commands. Sometimes the prisonofficials do not give the prisoners explanations for
the rules or decisions made inside the prison. With providing no explanation, the
prisoners self image may revert back to the status of a child. The final deprivation is
security. The prisoneris surrounded by other men who have some history of violent
or dangerous behavior. Some prisoners view their fellow captives as dangerous and
vicious. So suspicion may arise (Sykes, 1958). There are ways in which the prisoner
may escape these deprivations. First is physically withdrawing from the prison. Then
there is psychological withdraw. This could mean renouncing the goals and needs.
The prisoner could withdrawal into fantasy. The final option is to rebel. A rebellion
has a high percentage of not succeeding. So prisoners have two options living
Analysis Of The Film The Simpsons
The Simpsons often parody many classic films. One film they parody is
Goodfellas by Martin Scorsese. In this film the character Henry Hill narrates his
life as a gangster. He goes through the reasons why he decided to become a
gangster. He explains how being a gangster makes him feel like a somebody and how
they offer him protection. The Mafiagives Henry Hill a place to call his own. The
mafia becomes his family. The movie Goodfellasis based off of a book called
Wiseguy by Nicholas Pileggi which is based on a true story. One of the reasons
this film was so popular was because it was based in reality. The film details what
the life of a gangster is. It also displays the message that crime does not pay. At the
end of the film all the gangsters either end up dead, in jail, or in the witness
protection program. Henry Hill is a great example of how crime doesn t pay.
Henry Hill during the film seems to be living the American dream. He has more
money than he knows what to do with and everyone in town knows who he is. He
feels as though he is living the life. These are some of the many aspects of living
life outside the law that attracts the American viewer. Henry seems to be living the
American dream but this dream doesn t last very long. Before Henry knows it he is
arrested for committing many crimes but the biggest one is his trafficking of
cocaine. At this point it becomes clear to see that crime doesn t pay. This film paints
several of the mobster as heroes they provide

Cold War Dangers is about the US losing its grip on Russia because Russians has

The issue is that the Nuclear weapons are more powerful and can destroy the world
and there should be a plan to stop nuclear warfare.
Speech Lessons is about protesting and how they are getting arrested for freedom of

that it is like me saying that a painting is beautiful and done well. The painting is not

philosophy to the game of Baseball. In the game of baseball huge and important
aspects of the game like hitting the ball or touching each base to ensure that you

Haiti Essay
Voodoo in Haiti A typical ceremony begins with a Roman Catholic prayer. Then
three drummers begin to play syncopated rhythms. The attendees begin to dance
around a tree in the center of the yard, moving faster and harder with the rising
pulse of the beat. The priest draws sacred symbols in the dust with cornmeal, and
rum is poured on the ground to honor the spirits. One woman falls to the ground,
convulsing for a moment before she is helped back to her feet. She resumes the
dance, moving differently now, and continues dancing for hours. It is perhaps no
longer she who is dancing: She is in a trance, apparently possessed by voodoo
spirits. Voodoo is the dominant religion of Haiti it is said that Haitians are seventy

People are saying that the parents should be held responsible for not looking after

up to campaign for the parents to be investigated after their child fell up to 12feet
into the enclosure. They want the parents to be held accountable for the lack of
supervision and negligence that caused Harambe to lose his life. The boy s mother,
Michelle, has been faced with criticism online. Animal right campaigners claim that
she should have been keeping a closer eye on her child. The mother then claimed
that she tried to prevent it. She said that she tried to grab him but she just was not

The Relationship between Academic Obstacles and
Facilitators
University students make up a large population in most countries and may be the
most important individual s part of a society; as they constitute of future
professionals and degree obtainers. The life of a student is very different to other
age groups and may prove to be extremely stressful and pressurised as the
importance to having a profession, especially in South Africa, is heightened because
of financial pressure and recessions. It has been argued and researched that the well
being of a studentis important for their academic performance, therefore their health
needs to be taken into context and maintained to ensure peak performance. The
purpose of this essay is to assess the relationship between academic obstacles and
facilitators and how they hinder or promote academic performance, as well as how it
may affect the well being of the student.
When students are going through a stressful period in their studies, such as exam
time or when assignments are due, they often feel exhausted and sometimes unable to
manage their time properly in order to get their work done on time, or simply not
being able to cope with the nature of the work. It is argued that students who are
experiencing emotional exhaustion will perform poorly in their studies (Salanova,
Schaufeli, Martinez Breso, 2008). This is because students who feel exhausted will
experience feelings of demotivation, irritability, detachment and cynicism towards
their work. While those who have positive feelings
How Did The Market Revolution Affect The Middle Class
Every facet in the way of life was affected by the Market Revolution, stopped the
made social order that continually existed throughout decades. The market revolution
created a social order in which members were seemingly able to escalate socially.
The upper class did not change in any matter although the middle class increased
heavily.
Accelerated movements were mainly enhanced in commercialization,
industrialization and transportation which generated the market revolution.
Compromise was made by merchants in the business community of the northern area
and often acquired great wealth. Disputes between 1807 1815 rattled the United States

Second Great Awakening was lifted from the frontier to the new market towns
emphasizing salvation to personal faith. Charles G. Finney was one of the many
preachers which expressed urge towards businessmen to convert and obtain the self

of the new middle class. Many families altered their life styles under the heavily

made its way out from households, family and work matters grew distant from one

Animal Farm Animal Control
Control, lies, and terror. These words describe the Animal Farm under Napoleon s
rule. This 1945 book was based on the Russian revolution and used animals revolting
against their owner to describe events that took place in the real life rebellion.
Napoleon has proven himself a similar tyrant to Jones by acting controlling toward
the animals, living the same lifestyle, and breaking his agreements.
When Napoleon took leadership during the revolt against Farmer Jones, the power
went straight to his head, and that started reflecting how he treated the animals after
they took over the farm. Napoleon s actions were like a mirror; it reflected how
Jones treated the animals before. It even came to the extent of taking away a
tradition that animals keep dear to their heart because it shows honor and dignity.
According to page 38 of Animal Farm, By George Orwell, ...by a special decree of
Comrade Napoleon, Beast of England has been abolished. From now onwards it
was forbidden to sing it. For Napoleon to gain more power he needed to take away
something that the animals honor to show he is the leader now, but if that song
were never stated, most of the animals would not have been motivated to help
revolt against Farmer Jones. Every day the animals were being forced to work, and
if they did not, they would not get enough food to survive. The animals were being
treated like Napoleon s servants, but the animals were too gullible to bypass Squealer

minutes of failing to get the board to leave the ground with me remaining on it,
Raith and Mea cross the road just in time to witness my pitiful endeavor. We spent
most of the morning cruising on our boards and sitting, drinking various sodas we
had brought, and chatting. It was a rather enjoyable start to the day, but by the time
noon rolled around, most of us had to use the bathroom. So we collectively decided to
headdown to the skate park because it was close, had a bathroom, and sounded like it
could be fun. Little did we know how much trouble would come from this little trip.
We arrive at the skate park to find that, surprisingly, no one is there. I make my way
to the bathroom, as well does the rest of the group. Afterwards we can t see the
point of heading back immediately. I attempt a few ramps and fall on my butt a
few times so, ultimately, we decide to sit at the bench and talk. I was facing the
road and Raith and Mea sat with their backs to it. At this point, I m already
uncomfortable being here, because I can t skate to save my life and have
The False Claims Act
On October 24, 2012 the Unites States of America filed a lawsuit against the Bank
of America Corporation for selling toxic mortgages to Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac
which cost the taxpayers more than $1 billion dollars. The lawsuit sought penalties
under two laws; the False Claims Act, which is normally used to target fraud
against the government, and the 1989 FIRREA Law. FIRREA does not usually
hold up in court, but the government is once again relying on it because of the
financial crisis as a possibility for targeting civil fraud concerning financial
institutions. (Viswanatha, Aruna, 2013) (Stempel, Jonathan, 2012) On May 8,
2013, U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff issued a two page ruling that dismissed the
claims in the lawsuit seeking penalties under the False Claims Act, but allowed the
claims that sought penalties under Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and
Enforcement Act (FIRREA) to advance. The relevance of the False Claims Act
and the FIRREA Law will be further explored in this case. (Viswanatha, Aruna,
2013) The False Claims Act The False Claims Act, also known as the Lincoln Law
is an American federal law that holds persons and companies accountable for
abusing governmental programs. However, the law includes a qui tam provision that
allows people without government ties to file actions on behalf of the government.
This is also referred to as whistleblowing . The Act prohibits such measures as

college years.
Marching band is hands down one of the biggest influences in my life. It has only
impacted me in a positive way. From friendships that I know will last a lifetime to

how you can find something you love that changes your life all by accident.
I feel that I am a very dedicated person. Take marching band for instance. It is an
extracurricular activity that takes over 2000 hours of your life over the course of
four years. That is just over 83 straight days of your life put solely into one activity.
This is all while juggling academics, athletics, and work. Dedication is very
important to me as a person because i feel that if you aren t going to give something
your all, then you re wasting your time.

THE CHALLENGES OF CONDUCTING UNIVERSAL HEALTH COVERAGE IN
INDONESIA
Introduction
Indonesia is making health sector reform to all its citizens by enacting the
universal health coverage starting from January 2014. This program will be under
the agency known as Social Security Provider or Badan Penyelenggaran Jaminan
Sosial (BPJS). Every Indonesian citizen and foreigners who have lived in
Indonesia for a minimum of six months shall be a member of BPJS. This is in
accordance with the article 14 of Law BPJS. Each company must register its
workers as a member of BPJS. Each participant will be levied on BPJS dues which
is determined later. As for the poor, BPJS dues will be paid by the government
through the dues assistance. Being a participant in BPJS not only mandatory for
workers in the formal sector, but also informal workers. Informal workers are also
required to be a member of BPJS. Workers must register and pay the dues in
accordance with the desired level of benefits.
Universal health insurance is expected to start gradually in 2014 and by 2019, all
Indonesian citizens are expected to have the health insurance. Indonesian health
minister stated that BPJS will cover all kinds of diseases with the efficiency efforts.
However, conducting this program is not without challenges. Many challenges and
lesson learned from previous health insurance systems that must be taking into

One day, unexpectedly the astrologer encounters with a stranger, with whom he had
picked up a quarrel and stabbed him, thinking that he had murdered. On seeing, his
victim alive the astrologer felt happy and relieved and immediately accepts, for the
challenge offered by the stranger. The stranger could not identify the astrologer
because he was disguised as a real astrologer. When the astrologer gave accurate and
precise predictions about the stranger s past, the stranger was astonished, for which
the astrologer replies that he knew, as he knew many other things, but he knew
nothing except the client s past, because he was his youth friend turned enemy. The
height of the ironic humor is in the narration of the situation, where the astrologer
was trapped before the stranger, who was committed to find the whereabouts about
his enemy and take revenge on him. When the stranger questions about his present
destination, there was conflict in the astrologer s mind but instantly the astrologer
uses his presence of mind and convinces the stranger, which is revealed in a more
detached manner as: When shall I get at him? he asked, clenching his first. In the

Be able to support positive behaviour
Positive behaviour management is about using positive rather than negative
approaches to encourage children and young people to behave appropriately.
Promoting positive behaviour involves: Setting clear boundaries, which are applied in

Encouraging children and young people to make their own choices about behaviour
and to understand the negative consequences if they choose inappropriate behaviour

It is important to give attention when they have waited appropriately so that they are
encouraged to do so again. You could try the following strategies:
whenever possible ignoring attention seeking behaviour, unless their attention is
drawn to it (perhaps by another child) as the message sent then is that it is acceptable
to behave in that way
giving attention and praise to another child who is behaving acceptably
distracting the child s attention; (Distraction is particularly appropriate with younger
children) or removing him or her to another activity or group
expressing disapproval verbally and/or nonverbally through body language, facial
expression and shaking of the head
using a sanction withdrawal of a privilege (such as removing a toy or activity).
Physical aggression
This usually results from strong feelings that are difficult to control. Whatever the
cause and it may be provocation the adult should deal with it calmly and ensure that
the needs of all the children and young people involved are met. A child who has lost
control frightens herself and the other children and young people. You could try these
strategies
Time out: This involves the child who has been aggressive being taken to an

calming down period and for other children and young people to be reassured. This

Home Schooling vs. Public Schools
Home Schooling vs. Public Schools Not so long ago, home schooling was
something that most people had not even considered as a schooling option. In 1969,
Raymond Moore and John Holt laid the groundwork for one of the greatest
educational movements of our time. Since that time, the option of home schooling
has expanded. The three different views about education are those people who
believe that home schooling is the best form of education; those people who believe
that public schoolis the best form of education; and those people who believe that
private schoolprovide the best education. Those who view that home schooling is the
best option believe they can teach their children, using home examples and guiding
their children through their beliefs to impart a deeper appreciation and understanding
of the education and information that is presented. Susanne Allen, 35, a home
schooling mother from Atlanta, claims that being schooled at home will make her
children better citizens because home schooling gives children the opportunity to
work together rather than working individually. Allen said, They learn to be caring
for other people by seeing older siblings care for them (Cloud par.16). Home
Schooling test scores are typically higher than public or private schools. Some
believe that home schooling is the best option because public schools breed
behavioral problems. Those who choose home schooling believe that the pros
outweigh the cons. One of the traditional
Organizational Behavior And Concepts Essay
In business to succeed, the people behind the scenes have many issues and problems
that may arise. Sometimes an organization can go down before it even begins. Proper
structure, education, and change are always needed for a business to succeed.
When going into or beginning an organization, one must learn about the culture.
Organization culture is the set of shared values, beliefs, and norms that influences the
way employees think, feel, and behave toward each other, and toward people outside
the organization (George, Jones, 2005, p.33). One can observe organizational culture
when they enter into a boutique to buy clothing. Usually immediately people are

This type of establishment attracts people of all races, and thus will better flourish
with the same type of diverse workforce. People can relate to others from his or her
background, and thus profits and productivity can reap the benefits of that fact.
Communication is the key in all aspects of life, especially in the workforce. Hitt,
Miller, and Colella (2006) define communication as, the process of sending and
receiving symbols with attached meanings (p. 27). When one thinks of Seattle, WA,
one might also think of the famous fish market. Workers there yell back and forth,
and throw fish to the waiting hands of the cashier. Without this important form of
communication and teamwork, the fish might land on the floor, or worse, on a
customer. In this case, communication is vital to this establishment s success, not
only because of the entertainment, but also because of the high risk for waste and

Believe it or not, but some people purposefully go out in public dressed as a hobo

treated fairly. Doing so, truly does challenge a businesses ethics, and may be costly to
that establishment if they do not know how to handle the situation properly. The boss
may tell an employee to get rid of the hobo before other suitable customers see him.

Comparing Wide Sargasso Sea and Jane Eyre Essay
Authors, Jean Rhys and Charlotte Bronte constructed their novels in completely
different time periods and came from different influences in writing. Jean Rhys s
fiction book, Wide Sargasso Sea is an interesting relation to Jane Eyre. The female
character of Jane Eyre forms into a furiously, passionate, independent young woman.
The female character of Jean Rhyss illustration is a character that Jane will know
further on as Rochester s crazy wife who is bolted in an attic. Jean Rhys further

These two novels are both feminist works, although each book leads to feminist
problems somewhat differently. Jane has a strong foundation in what woman
deserve, as well as achieve specific goals for how she portrays her spot in society
being a woman; Antoinette has no knowledge where to start to change herself. In
Wide Sargasso Sea, Rhys poses the likelihood that maybe; the gap between women
and men can t be penetrated. Possibly, the unbalance is so great that Antoinette
cannot have a feeling of cheerfulness and pleasure that Jane discovers near the end of
the novel. Wide Sargasso Sea portrays the fluctuating position of woman in the
twentieth century. Wide Sargasso Sea and Jane Eyrecan single handedly be looked at
as signs of feminist texts, however, Wide Sargasso Sea presents itself with more

An interesting insight into grasping the un similarities of how Antoinette and Jane

to look at other texts to begin to comprehend the purpose of Spivak s talk on
nationalism, Indian sovereignty, marginalized women, subaltern, comparative

was an e book by Stephen Morton entitled Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak. It was first
published in 2003 by Routledge and you can find it online as a pdf file.
Morton analysis several of Spivak s works and then he explains in an uncomplicated
manner the reasons for Spivak s comments and her writing in general. Although
Morton does not directly comment on Spivak s Nationalism and the Imagination you
will be able to understand Nationalism and the Imagination because Spivak draws
from previous works that Morton includes in his e book Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak.
Another way of understanding Spivak s Nationalism and the Imagination is by

She is unable to cope with reality and she escapes back into her fantasy world of
old records and glass figurines. Amanda is obsessed with her past, and uses it to
escape reality, as she constantly reminds Tom and Laura of the time she received
seventeen gentlemen callers. The reader cannot even be sure that this actually
happened. However, it is clear despite its possible falseness, Amanda has come to
believe it. She refuses to acknowledge that her daughter is crippled and refers to
her handicap as quot;a little defect hardly noticeable quot; (Williams 1648). Only
for brief moments does she ever admit that her daughter is quot;crippled quot; and
then resorts back to denial. Amanda doesn t perceive anything realistically. She

she hasn t even met him yet. When Jim arrives, Amanda is dressed in a quot;girlish

childish, giddy days of entertaining gentleman callers. Amanda uses her past as a
means to escape the reality she does not want to face. Tom escapes reality in many
different ways. The first and most obvious is the fire escape that leads him away
from his unhappy home. He also escapes into his world of poetry writing and

Analysis Of The Play Hamlet Essay
How to Deal with Mortality? Hamlet Edition
Hamlet is full of death. The whole plot revolves around the death of King Hamlet,
and death is what drives the play forward. Hamlet is surrounded by death and
struggles with dealing with it. Before the tragic ending, Hamlet loses his father to
murder and his love to crazed suicide. Hamlet also murders the father of his love,
Polonius. Shakespeare uses Hamlet s questioning of his own mortality and fear of
death to connect with the human problem: that if we all die, what is the point of
living?
The opening scenes of the play show an interaction between Hamlet and the ghost of
his recently murdered father, King Hamlet. Hamlet s father reveals to him that he
was in fact murdered and that he must avenge his death. The ghost does not
implicitly say that Hamlet must kill the new King Claudius to enact his revenge, but
that is how Hamlet interprets it. Hamlet never considers another option in avenging
his father. Hamlet could of approached the revenge by proving Claudius murdered
King Hamlet. If this option had been taken by Hamlet lives could have been saved.
Claudius would have still ended up dead, but Hamlet would of taken the throne and
lived on after Claudius execution for regicide. Intriguingly the ghost is stuck in
purgatory, a Catholic idea, when it was illegal to be a Catholic in England at the time.
Hamlet knows what he must do, but struggles heavily with the idea of committing
murder immediately after the interaction and

RESULTS REPORTING
When faced with the task to research and report service quality within Marley s
Motors, no technique does a better job than the SERVQUAL model. The service
quality gaps model compares a company s service performance to the expectations of
their customers. These expectations are broken down into five separate dimensions.
These dimensions include reliability, assurance, tangibles, empathy, and
responsiveness. The analysis that was performed for this report was based on the
empathy dimension of the SERVQUAL model. Empathy is known as the ability to
understand and share the feelings of another (Oxford Dictionaries). In the case of
Marley s, we used three attributes to measure how successfully Marley s handled the
empathy dimension. These attributes included friendliness of staff, the amount of
attention received by customers, and how well the customers needs we met. These
three attributes combine to comprise the overall satisfaction with empathy. This
dimension then influences overall satisfaction with Marley s service department.

Contemporary t.v. in today s society has taken up a vast amount of time in people s

time spent watching t.v. making a person smarter? The television shows that people

with conveying information to viewers. For years now people have wanted dumb,

Similar to what Dana Stevens is taking about in finding credibility in a television
like 24, Jason Zinser looks at this question in his article, The Good, the Bad, and
The Daily Show. . Zinser addresses both the benefits and downfalls of television,
but ultimately ends up taking a stand somewhere in the middle of how t.v. is both
good and bad for people. Zinser s believes that The Daily Show can be used as a
starting point from which people can gain an understanding of current events but it
s not the most useful way. He claims that this type of information people gain from
watching a comedy news show can be both useful but damaging. The question that
needs to be addressed though, is why does it matter where people are gaining their
knowledge about the world and critical events as long as they are gaining some
knowledge from what they re watching. As Zinser states, An informed public is the
grease that keeps democracy running properly. Although foreign and domestic issues
aren t settled by popular vote, an informed public wields great democratic power . It
doesn t matter whether information comes from a comedy news show or from a hard
hitting formal newscast, any information that a person gains from television is far
better than receiving no information at all, because if the public is informed about the
news in the world they have an understanding of it and could possibly make decision

If you re looking for the highest energy efficiency ratings, look at double hung,
casements and fixed windows. Here s why we recommend those three options for
Long Island homeowners.
Double hung windows have two movable sash one slides up, and the other lowers

home style from colonial ranch to cod.
Casement windows are the most energy efficient operable window we offer. The
compression closure design means less friction on weather stripping than windows
that slide across air and moisture blocking insulation. Crank type windows may need
some minor maintenance to keep the fixtures opening smoothly and/or remediate
problems with sealants weakening after many years of service.
Fixed windows have permanent seals and no movable parts that may eventually
develop leaks over time with daily use. Fixed windows also offer Long Island
homeowners other advantages when it comes to creating beautiful curb appeal. For
example, they can be built in almost any shape from square and boxy, to attention

Canada is a nation that prides itself on acceptance, allowing anyone to do anything
regardless of the person or dream. However, what happens to a person if this is not
the case? If dreams are treated the exact opposite, looked down upon by everyone
around them. The inevitable consequences of the denial of one s dreams is
demonstrated in Do Not Say We Have Nothing by Madeleine Thien, where
musicians and friends, Sparrow, Kai, and Zhuli, live in an era surrounded by people
who despise what they do. Despite all three responding to the constant hostility in
different ways, all three live miserable lives in the end. As a result of the harsh
Chinese culture in Madeleine Thien s Do Not Say We Have Nothing, musicians are

She is beat and humiliated simply because she is a violinist. On one occasion, Zhuli
was simply practicing her violin at her conservatory and on the way to pick up oil
and grains for her family. Despite not causing any trouble, she encounters some Red
Guards, and because she is known for her passion for music, she is physically and
verbally abused in the public eye. She was slapped [on] the side of her head over
and over. (Thein 253), and ink is poured onto her face, which dried and tightens on
her skin. After this event, she questions if she truly is this horrible person everyone
claims she is, asking herself Is it a crime to be myself? Is it a crime to disbelieve?
(Thien 253) The consistent negative feedback from everyone causes her to question
herself, leading her to conclude that she no longer deserves to live, resulting in her
hanging herself not too long after. Despite being extremely gifted in music, she is
discouraged from pursuing what she loves, due to the constant hate she receive. She
no longer knows who she truly is anymore, and ultimately committing suicide to end
the pain and suffering she feels inside, never allowing her to see the limits of her
talent. Another way the community restricts its musicians is from the government
repeatedly spreading propaganda in multiple forms, including speakers and posters.
They constantly remind the public of their vision for the future, but more

How Internet Affects The Newspaper Business
Modern technology has made a significant impact on many types of businesses. The
ease of access to information through the internet utilizing devices such as
smartphones, tablets, and computers has led many business to change or reinvent its
marketing and sales structure in reaching out to potential customers. While this
benefited many businesses, the digital age put lots of pressure on newspaper
companies. Many people enjoys the benefit of receiving their newspapers digital
which caused a significant reduction in the paper delivery of newspapers. In the
article How Internet Affects the Newspaper Business by C. Taylor, the author
mentions between 2001 and 2009, daily newspapers reduced overall newsroom staff
by 25 percent. With labor... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Today, I don t believe America puts enough concern or research on how the impact of
technology will affect unemployment over the next twenty years. If technology or
bots start running many businesses, I believe that it would put many workers out of
work, but at the same time increasing job opportunities for repairmen and electricians
for repairs maintenance, and upgrades of systems.
The United States is losing many jobs to other countries. While many American likes
products that are made in America, many manufacturers started shifting major high
tech manufacturing jobs to Asia where there is cheaper labor cost. The government
has done many things to help keep jobs in the country such as tax breaks and other
incentives for companies who manufacture and create jobs in United States. In the
article, U.S. Loosing High Tech Manufacturing Jobs to Asia by Peter Whoriskey, the
author mentions that the United States lost more than a quarter of its high tech
manufacturing jobs during the past decade as U.S. based multinational companies
placed a growing percentage of their research and development operations overseas.
Some things that our government have done to keep jobs in the United States is
making manufacturing jobs more competitive through innovation and engineering.
Today, there is double the amount of U.S. based multinationals performing research
overseas. In Asia, there has been a significant growth of technology and global
Symbols In A Clockwork Orange
Code and Cinematic Signs of A Clockwork Orange
Stanley Kubrick is famous for his dark humor movies. He used a lot of codes and
signs to express his stylish aesthetic violence and sexual implications in his movies.
A Clockwork Orange can be considered as one of the best among them.
In the opening milk bar scene with the mannequins, the bar is full of sexual imagery.
The film continues this motif throughout, combining sex with violence as the social
norm. Alex s parents are completely docile and impotent, having no idea of the
actual state of world affairs. Strangely, Alex has an affinity for Beethoven, which
often plays ever scenes of violence on sex, including rape scenes.
The main character Alex is a good way to start. In the film, ... Show more content on

Here Kubrick and the original novel are at complete odds. Deltoid s dialogue,
faithful to the book, depicts Alex as being an inherently evil boy from a good home
with good, loving parents . Kubrick s visual direction appropriately reverses this
misguided concept to show that abuse during childhood, especially that originating in
the home, is what leads human beings to abuse others later in life.
In the film, there are a lot of pyramid like shot compositions, Kubrick has frequently
placed artificial light sources at the apex and the number of light sources in these
shots sometimes parallels the number of people coming from an apex to inflict
violence.
When Alex and his friends break into the writer s house, it is obvious that there are
four unusual light sources in the house, being put side by side. Each of them has a
huge illuminated globe on a stand. In the same house, but nearly at the end of the
film, Alex is eating a meal, the lights (at the same location as the four unusual light
props) behind him gone out. It seems like sunlight comes into the house from
windows off screen, but once the shot is then reversed, audience know that it is
artificial light, which is come from four illuminated globes parallel the number of
attackers (and they are behind the
The Term Global Financial Crisis (Gfc) Refers To The...
The term Global Financial Crisis (GFC) refers to the financial crisis of 2008 2009
that, according to leading economists, is the worst financial crisis since the Great
Depression (Eigner, 2015). The crisis began in 2007 due to a mortgage market failure
in the United States and in the following year, with the collapse of the Lehman
Brothers investment bank, advanced into an international banking crisis, which then
developed into a global economic crisis, The Great Recession (Williams, 2010). This
essay will conclude that that due to private sector financial management, government
regulations and legislation and deregulation were at the root cause of the crisis and
give explanations surrounding this criteria. To gain a detailed understanding... Show

(Woods, 2009) This played a large role within financial institutions leading up to the
crisis (Arner, 2009.) The cause of the crisis not only reflects the private sector but that
of the government (Kling, 2009.)
Economists believe that some of the most important financial mechanisms associated
and attributed to the crisis were due to legislation and regulatory anomalies (Kling,
2009). Kling writes that one of the most notable of these concerns the requirements
of capital hill that favour securities backed by risky mortgages rather than ordinary
direct mortgage lending. Kling also states that the emergence of a large quantity of
mortgage loans that host low down payments due to the formation of housing equity
also heavily impacted overall on the crisis (Kling, 2009.) Economist Lawrence H.
White bolsters these assertions by associating the financial collapse with the same
political backed efforts to extend mortgage lending to buyers who could not meet the
aforementioned standard mortgage lending (Yandle, 2010.) It is important to not only
analyse these regulatory efforts in the few years leading up
Gender And Gender Roles In Woman Of Willendorf
Representation of gender and gender roles as seen in Woman of Willendorf Double
pieces that have lasted over thousands of ages to offer scholars with references to
human existence during the Paleolithic period are the Woman of Willendorf figure
and the Lion Man of Hohlenstein Stadel. Each figure is condensed with amazing
features, even though they are not thorough to the level of realism. The Woman of
Willendorf is one of the best instances of the small Venuses that have been uncovered
meaning that her persistence was a part of a ethnic set of views about women and
fertility. The LionMan, is a more exclusive artifact that recounts to the complex
figures that are recognized from other cultures within which the related mythologies
that have been revealed. The Lion Man has no known mythology that is obtainable in
known written history to this day. The two pieces propose the unknown about the
Paleolithicera, recognizing a sagacity of religion and rituals that were part of the
lives of those who lived during that era and enlightening recent scholars on some
aspects of the people during that time. The Woman of Willendorf figure, which was
revealed in Austria and it is so small that it measures about 4.5 inches in height
(Haarmann 62). This piece is between 25,000 and 30,000 years old which makes it
amongst one of the initial pieces of art revealed and an image of fertility. The work
was imprinted from limestone with indication that some method of paint pigment was
then added

  • 3. Stamp Out Smoking Ad Campaign Analysis Like many states, the Arkansas Department of Health is thoroughly engaged in attempting to improve the wellbeing of its citizens. In Arkansas, there are free tobacco quitline referral programs. Once a referral is submitted, the tobacco or nicotine user will receive a call from a Quit Counselor within 24 hours. Anyone who is referred should be planning a quit date within the next 30 days. Quit Counselors work with tobaccoand nicotineusers to create a customized, individual quit plan, which includes free counseling services by phone, online, or both. Although the ADH focuses on all aspects of smokers, the Arkansas Department of health has a strong passion to help those who suffer from second hand smoke. Plastered throughout Arkansas cities and on nearly every television, the ADH runs ads of children both young and old that suffer from second hand smoke. Perhaps one of the strongest ads is the one that has a picture of a hand grenade and a cigarette and says they are both capable of killing anyone within forty feet. With the ad campaign Stamp Out Smoking, healthcare agencies are able to appeal to smokers emotions. The guilt of smokers when they know their cigarette could harm others may... By placing the images of the young children on the ads, it shows that those who do not have the option of whether they want to smoke or not can still suffer from the side effects of others
  • 4. Young People Chapter Summaries I would say that the first chapters of the book are very captivating. I agree with the author when he says that young people are taught to do what they do, and that people or society, to a point are considered responsible for the actions and attitudes of young people is very intense. Especially, because I feel that most of the time adults themselves lack maturity. Same as the author, I think that every young individual goes through a stage of struggle in life and I also think that this struggle can be dangerous sometimes because adult s influences do matter and play a big role. Also, I think that parents have a big responsibility as well. If parents are not constantly involved in what is going on in their kids life, they can interpreted this as if the parents don t care about them, therefore, they can do whatever they pleased.... I also think that in our adolescent years we experience a lot of similar new things as the author did; we emerge into new ideas and don t stop to think that there are limits. In general, I really admire his motivation to do help others and to try to find sense to the struggles of equality, to become a community of people who share the same practices. Overall, I enjoyed his writing because I think it relates very much with all young adolescent that come from other countries and have difficulties integrating in a new and different

Like from the novel Northern Lights by the author Philip Pullman, Lyra became her own individual once she went against her mother and said no to the separation she wasn t as innocent as we would had thought. All children grow up but some people as they get older they grow apart from their inner self, from who they really are either to fit in to or for religious reasons. Like Lyra s mom who was so distant from her soul (daemon), she grew to be an alien and stranger to herself, she didn t actually reach adulthood as an individual. While on the other hand, Lyra developed at a very young age and became more mature than her own parents. Her cleverness and disobedient character and her insistence on becoming something gave her the chance to mature. To grow up isn t just a physical change in appearance, it s more of a mental and spiritual growth. • 8. U.s. The Minimum Wage U.S and The Minimum Wage The question whether we should raise the minimum wage came up a lot in the last election. In fact, politicians and the media have of course done an amazing job at polarizing the issue. Most people may know that the federal minimum wage in the U.S. is currently $7.25 an hour, but there are about 29 states that have their own minimum wages that are higher than the federal requirement. States such as Massachusetts and California go as high as $10 dollars per hour. Actually, some cities like Washington, DC and Seattle have passed an even higher minimum of $15 per hour. Although the minimum wageis an important issue, unfortunately, it is usually grossly oversimplified by both proponents and opponents. Before deciding ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, a survey of over 1000 employers and HR specialists show that: If the minimum wage were raised to $10.10 an hour, as President Obama has proposed, 38 percent of employers who currently pay employees minimum wage say that they would have to let some employees go to cover the cost. Among the same group, 54 percent say they would reduce hiring, and 65 percent say they would raise prices on their goods and services (Kast). In other words, raising the minimum wage will clearly result in laying off employees. The advocates of increasing the minimum wage are so innocent to believe that increasing the minimum wage will help them get out of poverty. Nonetheless, it actually does not only help them get more money from their job, but it also make them to be unemployed. Thus, with all that in mind, what would happen if people raise the minimum wage? It s important to remember though that not all minimum wage increases are the same and a more modest increase to nine dollars like President Obama suggested in the past will obviously have less of an impact on the economy than an increase to $15 like some others are pushing for. Now in terms of projections, if the minimum wage were to increase to ten dollars and ten cents like some politicians have proposed, it is estimated that about 35 millions employees would be getting a raise (Copper). Those numbers sound great, but this optimistic prediction doesn t take into account the fact that some people might be

The prisoners are deprived of heterosexual relationships which creates sexual frustration. There are some stimuli that may help but it not enough for some. Sadly because of this lack of heterosexual relationships, some prisoners resort to rapes and victimization to release some of that frustration. This deprivation may have some effects on the prisoners masculinity and their self image. The fourth is the deprivation of autonomy. The prisoners are subjected to rules and commands designed to control their behavior. They cannot make choices for themselves since they must follow those specific rules and commands. Sometimes the prisonofficials do not give the prisoners explanations for the rules or decisions made inside the prison. With providing no explanation, the prisoners self image may revert back to the status of a child. The final deprivation is security. This 1945 book was based on the Russian revolution and used animals revolting against their owner to describe events that took place in the real life rebellion. Napoleon has proven himself a similar tyrant to Jones by acting controlling toward the animals, living the same lifestyle, and breaking his agreements. When Napoleon took leadership during the revolt against Farmer Jones, the power went straight to his head, and that started reflecting how he treated the animals after they took over the farm. Napoleon s actions were like a mirror; it reflected how Jones treated the animals before. It even came to the extent of taking away a tradition that animals keep dear to their heart because it shows honor and dignity. According to page 38 of Animal Farm, By George Orwell, ...by a special decree of Comrade Napoleon, Beast of England has been abolished. From now onwards it was forbidden to sing it. The False Claims Act On October 24, 2012 the Unites States of America filed a lawsuit against the Bank of America Corporation for selling toxic mortgages to Fanny Mae and Freddy Mac which cost the taxpayers more than $1 billion dollars. The lawsuit sought penalties under two laws; the False Claims Act, which is normally used to target fraud against the government, and the 1989 FIRREA Law. FIRREA does not usually hold up in court, but the government is once again relying on it because of the financial crisis as a possibility for targeting civil fraud concerning financial institutions. (Viswanatha, Aruna, 2013) (Stempel, Jonathan, 2012) On May 8, 2013, U.S. District Judge Jed Rakoff issued a two page ruling that dismissed the claims in the lawsuit seeking penalties under the False Claims Act, but allowed the claims that sought penalties under Financial Institutions Reform, Recovery and Enforcement Act (FIRREA) to advance. The relevance of the False Claims Act and the FIRREA Law will be further explored in this case. In 1969, Raymond Moore and John Holt laid the groundwork for one of the greatest educational movements of our time. Since that time, the option of home schooling has expanded. The three different views about education are those people who believe that home schooling is the best form of education; those people who believe that public schoolis the best form of education; and those people who believe that private schoolprovide the best education. Those who view that home schooling is the best option believe they can teach their children, using home examples and guiding their children through their beliefs to impart a deeper appreciation and understanding of the education and information that is presented. Susanne Allen, 35, a home schooling mother from Atlanta, claims that being schooled at home will make her children better citizens because home schooling gives children the opportunity to work together rather than working individually. • 35. Analysis Of The Play Hamlet Essay How to Deal with Mortality? Hamlet Edition Hamlet is full of death. The whole plot revolves around the death of King Hamlet, and death is what drives the play forward. Hamlet is surrounded by death and struggles with dealing with it. Before the tragic ending, Hamlet loses his father to murder and his love to crazed suicide. Hamlet also murders the father of his love, Polonius. Shakespeare uses Hamlet s questioning of his own mortality and fear of death to connect with the human problem: that if we all die, what is the point of living? The opening scenes of the play show an interaction between Hamlet and the ghost of his recently murdered father, King Hamlet. Hamlet s father reveals to him that he was in fact murdered and that he must avenge his death. The ghost does not implicitly say that Hamlet must kill the new King Claudius to enact his revenge, but that is how Hamlet interprets it. Hamlet never considers another option in avenging his father. Hamlet could of approached the revenge by proving Claudius murdered King Hamlet. If this option had been taken by Hamlet lives could have been saved. Claudius would have still ended up dead, but Hamlet would of taken the throne and lived on after Claudius execution for regicide. Intriguingly the ghost is stuck in purgatory, a Catholic idea, when it was illegal to be a Catholic in England at the time. Hamlet knows what he must do, but struggles heavily with the idea of committing murder immediately after the interaction and

The United States is losing many jobs to other countries. While many American likes products that are made in America, many manufacturers started shifting major high tech manufacturing jobs to Asia where there is cheaper labor cost. The government has done many things to help keep jobs in the country such as tax breaks and other incentives for companies who manufacture and create jobs in United States. In the article, U.S. Loosing High Tech Manufacturing Jobs to Asia by Peter Whoriskey, the author mentions that the United States lost more than a quarter of its high tech manufacturing jobs during the past decade as U.S. based multinational companies placed a growing percentage of their research and development operations overseas. • 44. Symbols In A Clockwork Orange Code and Cinematic Signs of A Clockwork Orange Stanley Kubrick is famous for his dark humor movies. He used a lot of codes and signs to express his stylish aesthetic violence and sexual implications in his movies. A Clockwork Orange can be considered as one of the best among them. In the opening milk bar scene with the mannequins, the bar is full of sexual imagery. The film continues this motif throughout, combining sex with violence as the social norm. Alex s parents are completely docile and impotent, having no idea of the actual state of world affairs. Strangely, Alex has an affinity for Beethoven, which often plays ever scenes of violence on sex, including rape scenes. The main character Alex is a good way to start. In the film, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Here Kubrick and the original novel are at complete odds. Deltoid s dialogue, faithful to the book, depicts Alex as being an inherently evil boy from a good home with good, loving parents . Kubrick s visual direction appropriately reverses this misguided concept to show that abuse during childhood, especially that originating in the home, is what leads human beings to abuse others later in life. In the film, there are a lot of pyramid like shot compositions, Kubrick has frequently placed artificial light sources at the apex and the number of light sources in these shots sometimes parallels the number of people coming from an apex to inflict violence. When Alex and his friends break into the writer s house, it is obvious that there are four unusual light sources in the house, being put side by side. Each of them has a huge illuminated globe on a stand. In the same house, but nearly at the end of the film, Alex is eating a meal, the lights (at the same location as the four unusual light props) behind him gone out. It seems like sunlight comes into the house from windows off screen, but once the shot is then reversed, audience know that it is artificial light, which is come from four illuminated globes parallel the number of attackers (and they are behind the

The term Global Financial Crisis (GFC) refers to the financial crisis of 2008 2009 that, according to leading economists, is the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression (Eigner, 2015). The crisis began in 2007 due to a mortgage market failure in the United States and in the following year, with the collapse of the Lehman Brothers investment bank, advanced into an international banking crisis, which then developed into a global economic crisis, The Great Recession (Williams, 2010). This essay will conclude that that due to private sector financial management, government regulations and legislation and deregulation were at the root cause of the crisis and give explanations surrounding this criteria. To gain a detailed understanding... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Woods, 2009) This played a large role within financial institutions leading up to the crisis (Arner, 2009.) The cause of the crisis not only reflects the private sector but that of the government (Kling, 2009.) Economists believe that some of the most important financial mechanisms associated and attributed to the crisis were due to legislation and regulatory anomalies (Kling, 2009). Kling writes that one of the most notable of these concerns the requirements of capital hill that favour securities backed by risky mortgages rather than ordinary direct mortgage lending. Kling also states that the emergence of a large quantity of mortgage loans that host low down payments due to the formation of housing equity also heavily impacted overall on the crisis (Kling, 2009.) Economist Lawrence H. White bolsters these assertions by associating the financial collapse with the same political backed efforts to extend mortgage lending to buyers who could not meet the aforementioned standard mortgage lending (Yandle, 2010.) It is important to not only analyse these regulatory efforts in the few years leading up
