Film Analysis
Analyze This Analyze This is a hilarious, feel good movie about two men from different
backgrounds living completely opposite lifestyles. Through a series of very funny, random and
bizarre moments they form a memorable friendship together. The movie came to theatres in 1999,
was directed by Harold Ramis and included a cast full of some of Hollywood's brightest stars. It
begins with two gangsters leaving a cafГ©, discussing their plans to attend a meeting involving the
countries major crime bosses. One gangster goes back in the cafГ© to get a toothpick and at the
same time the other gangster is killed from a drive–by shooting. The movie's plot is based upon the
surviving gangster seeking out a psychiatrist to help with his emotional...show more content...
Vitti uses intimidation and even comes very close to threatening Dr. Sobel life, when this doesn't
work he breaks down in tears and plays on Dr. Sobel's softer side. Dr. Sobel responds to this with
empathy and tries to understand emotionally what Vitti is experiencing, that if the panic attacks
continue Vitti will become an emotionally weak, distressed crime boss that won't be able to get
respect from others (ch. 11, pg 245). Dr. Sobel reluctantly agrees to help Vitti with his therapy. He
promises to start therapy the following week when he'll return from Miami, where he is going to
marry his fiancГ© (Lisa Kudrow). Vitti's panic attacks worsen by the hour, with desperation he
leaves with Jelly to Miami and crashes Dr. Sobel's wedding. The best part of the movie happens
when Vitti shows up at Dr. Sobel's hotel room in Miami, and requests an immediate therapy
session. For therapy Dr. Sobel tells Vitti to hit a pillow when he is feeling angry. Vitti hoping that it
may help, pulls out a gun and shoots a pillow, then with a look of relief tells Dr. Sobel that he feels
better. In this movie the audience can see that both men have very different cultures and beliefs (ch
2). They also have developed negative stereotypes of each other, as a result they respond to their own
classifications of one another and not the individual (ch. 2, pg. 49). The miscommunication resulting
from their differences causes much conflict and deterioration in their relationship. Vitti

Art Analysis Essay
Upon glancing at various beautiful paintings there is to offer at the Museum of Fine Arts, only one
astonishing artwork caught my immediate attention. The artwork is named "The Windmill on the
Onbekende Gracht, Amsterdam" and it was painted by Claude Monet of the impressionist period in
1879. The medium is oil which is used for the oil painting on a canvas. Besides the subject matter,
the content of the overall painting represents a serene and beautiful setting in which one can take
ease and enjoy. It is a breathtaking view that captures a fleeting moment of a town setting by the
riverside. Furthermore, the title also signifies the importance of the central object, which is the
windmill.
Monet successfully manipulates the emphasis of the windmill to create the design principle of
variety. As a result of the dominant emphasis of the extremely tall windmill, the town around the
windmill seems to become blurry. Within the painting, the artist also uses implied motion of the
windmill slowly turning, meanwhile the town setting is at a stand still. The artist then depicted his
mastery of the visual elements by using organic shapes to form house windows, doors, and...show

For example, some of the houses have orange rooftops and the colors of the house are a darker
blue. Since these colors are on the opposite of the color wheel, the house looks quite enchanting
with the perfect colors. Due to the closeness of the houses to the grayish windmill, great contrast
is present. The sky is also a beautiful mix of the neutral colors blue, and white that gives the sky a
light blue hue. In addition to this, neutral black is also added to create a vast amount of gray
clouds which add to the sky. As a result, the majorly cloudy sky still bestows the setting of the town
with a gentle, and easygoing feeling since the colors are very

How To Analyze Films Essay
Did you know it is more to film broadcasting than just visible viewing it? The ability to analyze films
implicates closely examination of cinematography. Cinematography refers to the process in film of
lighting a shot and achieving quality in the visual images that are captured. The cinematographer in
any film is also known as the director of photography and may be either an artist or a technician. It
is this individual who is responsible for ensuring that the images appearing on screen are presented
to reflect the mood or the emotional effect and the style seen by the film director, producer, and
writer as essential to conveying its meaning. The director of photography works closely with the
director and interprets the action of the...show more content...
(Boggs & Petrie p. 9) One aspect of eliminating impartiality is to view a film in its proper
environment. Try selecting an environment that is attractive and comfortable; preferably a theater
with modern stadium seating and the upmost quality projection and audio sound equipment. As
comfort and sound plays an immense role in how well we appreciate an experience. While viewing
films try to restrain your comments and thoughts. Take mental notes and discuss them at a later time
with others who shared your cinematic journey. As restraining your comments and thoughts avoid
passing bias and negative viewpoint onto others.
The basic approach to analyzing films as a whole is to keep in mind that when we are watching a
film we cannot freeze for analysis. We have to concentrate on the interactions of image, sound, and
motion that are present. In addition we have to accumulate impressions of the film effectiveness and
maintain some degree of objectivity and critical detachment. Viewing films more than once usually
help our analysis becomes easier. Another asset is to view in selective screen segments that
exemplify the purpose and the interrelationship. Regardless of which option: single–viewing,
double–viewing, or breaking the film into segments, one can virtually use the same

How to Analyze a Web Site
Designing a website may vary from person to person depending on their taste and style. There are
millions of websites out there, each one designed differently from another. When you want to
analyze a website quickly and simply there are a few fast standards that all websites should follow.
These are 10 steps someone can follow to analyze a website in minutes. 1. Don't make me think,
this means when you go to a website you should understand it from the minute you open it up. The
website should apply to what you are looking for and you should be able to go through it quickly
with no problems. 2. WOW factor, when the website...show more content...
8. Consistency, is the website the same throughout or does it change drastically as you go
through the pages. A website should be consistent from the first page to the last. 9. Browser
compatibility, each website allows different rules and codes for the website. Some websites
might look really great if your browser is Firefox, but it might look horrible and not legible in
internet explorer. If a professional designed the website they should know this and they will use
codes that will make the website look great in any browser used. 10. Speed, a website should be
built light and fast, if it is done right the website should be able to load in no time. Now a day you
should be able to present large images with no problems and have no problems with file size and
website loading time.
With practice you can analyze a website in just minutes. These are just a few key points to follow
when you are analyzing a website. Of course if someone who has never analyzed one before, it
may be a little more difficult and might take some more time to do. We have so many websites
now a days, some in which we cannot even figure out or even be able to navigate through without
hundreds of pop ups coming up. I think it is important to have a crisp clean website where your
visitors do not have to scroll around everywhere trying to find something. It should be

Group Analysis Essay
Introduction An important part of our learning and growing experience must stem from our ability
to analyze and reflect upon the groups that we have been members in. This reflection can define our
understanding of the weaknesses both in ourselves and in the others within our group; and it can
help to shape the way that we act in future groups. Adjusting ourselves to compensate for our
weaknesses, based upon an honest and thorough examination of our actions within a group setting, is
one of most important thing for any person to do. It is only through this evaluation that we can
improve ourselves and our interactions with others. This paper will examine a group that was
required to make an important decision about adding a new member...show more content...
The discussions broke the team members into two distinct groups. The debate that was held
about the two candidates revolved main around the values that each member held to be more
desirable; friendliness and experience versus reliability and knowledge. The first group argued
that the friendlier candidate would be a better fit for the position mainly because the members of
that group tended to be more heavily involved in people oriented side of the organization, while
the other group and the other candidate were more versed in the technical side of the organization.
However, rather than this group meeting basing its agenda on the discussion of the values of the
candidates, it was a series of comparison arguments in which each side attempted to argue why the
other candidate would not do well in the open position. Both groups turned away from the civility
required for such a group discussion to be rational and productive, and instead adopted a hostile
approach. Group member cohesiveness was absent from the group meeting for several reasons, but
the primary reasons were due to the fact that the group members did not have a common description
of value or structure to the discussion. Each member viewed their own area of involvement within
the organization as being more valuable than any other area, and it was this exclusion of other
valuable traits that lead the group to begin to clash in such a

Analyze The Rhetorical Situation
In this course we've learned to how to effectively analyze rhetorical situations. We start off by
identifying the audience. The audience is the intended or unintended recipients of the rhetorical
message. Identifying the audience is important because it will determine the style and language you
will use in your writing. For example, if an undergraduate student is writing to their professor the
style and language of the writing will be formal. Whereas if the audience is the undergraduate's
peers, then the language can be informal and have a more relaxed tone. Then we explore the context
of the rhetorical situation. The context is what helps you interpret meaning in a situation by giving
information on what the piece is about. By understanding

Image Analysis Essay
Why I choose this image to work up and do analysis of. Well as a photographer it touches on a
theme that I and other photographers must deal with. The idea that someone can get something for
free. Just because we are photographers or even a regular artist that we are all just dying for more
exposure and are willing to do whatever you want for some "good exposure". I don't think that most
folks are all the self–severing, they are just unaware how much time and money goes into
producing a good image. And suffer from this misbelief that this is just someone's hobby and not
their lively hood. Form the text of "trust me I am a professional Photographer I don't work for free"
and with the camera, lens, and SD cards in the middle. It...show more content...
Did they feel anger, betrayal, like someone wanted to take advantage of them? This is the main
reason that I think the secondary audience was the customer. The attempt to use humor to deescalate
the feelings on both sides.
In its basic statement this statement on the image is fairly effective. It makes the case in plain
language. Although it falls short on the humorous side. It's a blunt object taken upside of the
head. Photographers are more likely to take it seriously, but the photographers who need to know
it are the younger ones who are more likely to work for free for so called good exposure. As for the
ones looking to hire a photographer ether they already know that they are going to pay for the
service, or they will get mad and look for another photographer.
The explicit message that this image is trying to get across is that the photographer is a
professional. For the most part photographers are clean cut with good dress. Many photographers
could be dropped into an executive setting. The photographers would look right and appear to
belong there. They may not understand what's going on around them, but they would blend into
background. Stop and think about it, for a photographer to blend in he must match the dress and
general appearance. How many photos are out there of some CEO, corporate type, politics, or some
sport star doing something good or bad and a photo got caught them at it. They
