Types Of Speech Databases
IV.Speech Databases Once the features used for emotion detection are selected, the feature vector
for a number of training data samples should be obtained. Consequently, the next important phase
of building the SER system is to select the database. Prior to selecting the database, it is vital to
understand the different kinds of databases available with speech percepts [4]. Datasets for speech
signals that can be used for emotion detection should be tagged with a text label that denotes the
category of emotion expressed in the speech. Based on the environment used for data collection,
the databases can belong to one of the following categories. 1.A simulated dataset in one in which
actors who are trained artists record speech percepts in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The volunteers belonged to different genders and cultures and spoke different languages. The
emotions recorded in this dataset belong to six categories, namely: Anger, disgust, fear, joy,
sadness and surprise. V.Speech Emotion Detection Algorithms The main function of the
emotion detection system is to use all the collected data and its features to identify the emotion
expressed in it. To perform this a classifier algorithm can be used to create a classification model.
There are several options of classification algorithms that can be used for this purpose. Some of
the top choices of algorithm based on research and existing systems include Bayes classifier,
Support Vector Machines (SVM), Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), K nearest neighbors
(KNN), Hidden Markov Models (HMM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). Bayes classifier
[11] is one of the oldest classification algorithm that works based on the Bayes Theorem. Bayes
theorem works based on prior probability values and assumes independence between the features
used for analysis. The bayes classification model works efficiently on very large datasets. It is
simple and easy to build. Bayes classifier used in emotion detection for speech gives an average
accuracy of 67%. The nearest neighbor algorithm is a lazy learning algorithm that analyses many
training data samples and relates every test data sample to the closest matching train data sample to
produce an output [12]. In this algorithm a

Analyze Similarities And Differences Between The New...
During the 1600 s, England founded the 13 colonies in America. The first settlement in Southern
colonial region, called Jamestown, Virginia, and was established to find gold. The first settlement
in the New England colonial region, Massachusetts, was established for religious freedom. The
New England and Southern Colonies had many similarities and differences in geography, economy,
and culture.
In both colonial regions, the geography was varied greatly. For example, the geography in the New
England colonial region was bad for farming because of the short growing season was cold winters.
On the contrary, as stated by document 6, the Southern colonial region had good land for farming,
due to most of the settlements being along a river. Also, because the Southern colonial region had
rivers running through them, it gave merchant ships an easy route to that region s settlements. The
New England colonial region was along the coast, meaning they were usually making the ships
when there weren t any merchant ships around. These are the most contrasting details on the
geography. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, because the New England colonial region (as stated by document 7) was mostly
settled in by Puritans, it was a highly religious region. On the other hand, the Southern colonial
region had more religious toleration, and had widely varying reasons for colony creation. Even
though some of the southern colonies were created for a multitude of reasons, education wasn t
highly valued, money was (Document 3). However, in the New England colonial region, was

The Majority Of Male Characters
The majority of male characters in Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion appear to be fundamentally
flawed in some important way. Freddy Eynsford Hill is raised as a gentleman and, thus, is a fool
who has trouble hailing a cab, let alone finding any suitable occupation for himself. Henry
Higgins is well educated but ill mannered, alienating him from society due to his inconsideration
for others. Alfred Doolittle appears to lack any sort of morals and seems equally free from fear
and conscience. The only male figure who stands out is Colonel Pickering, who seems talented,
respectful, and compassionate compared to his competition. Even so, Pickering is only
superficially a gentleman; his concern, respect, and treatment for others are overshadowed by
his lack of growth and the play s criticism of gentlemanly behavior as a whole. Pickering s true
concern and compassion for others, particularly Eliza, distinguish him from the other male
characters. His first words to Eliza are, won t you sit down? (Shaw II, 39). This courtesy, which
Higgins does not extend, rightfully suggests that he thought and felt about her as if [she] were
something better than a scullerymaid, much to Higgins chagrin (V, 122). At the same time,
Pickering is not infatuated unlike Freddy (V, 130), who laughably spends most of his nights on
Wimpole Street because it s the only place where [he s] happy (IV, 106). All Eliza wants is a little
kindness, and Pickering, who is neither inconsiderate nor

The Garden Of Earthly Delights By Hieronymus Bosch
Estimated to have been painted sometime between 1505 and 1510, The Garden of Earthly Delights
was created by the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch (who was known for his tenancy to create
fantasy like figure painting of demons, machines and sometimes grotesque/frightening imagery).
This oil painting is composed of three panels (triptych), measuring 13 feet by 7 feet when all the
panels are open.
When opening up Bosch s triptych, the first panel reveals a colorful interior filled with strange
building, abnormal landforms, and many different types of crossbreed (alien like) creatures. In the
front of the left hand panel, there lies three figures who can be assumed to be God himself
(standing in between) and the figure of Adam and Eve. The ... Show more content on

The first panel depicts God introducing Adam to the creation of Eve (who was made from
Adam s rib bone) and with this first depiction the mankind s initial state of innocence which
become corrupted with God s introduction of Eve. However, you ll notice that in the central
panel that God is absent from it, which is why it depicts humanity acting in its own free will, in
which they are engaging in various sexual activities, in a board view of nude figure, hybrid
fairytale like creatures, and oversize fruit and plants. Making the central panel the representation
of fleetingness of worldly pleasure. The final panel, which looks like hell, showing the eccentric
torment given out to the damned, which is believed to be the vengeance of God for the sins and
lust that is depicted in the central panel. This can only can be assumed though because again there
isn t any concrete evidence on the true meaning or point to Bosch s Garden of Earthly Delights .
Since there isn t much known about the paint true meaning or thesis, there also isn t much evidence
on the paintings backstory. Which can only lead us to theorized why or who was the painting
commissioned for. One theory comes from Wilhelm Franger s book, The Millennium of
Hieronymus Bosch, . Where he argues the painting was commissioned by The Order s Brethren
and Sister of the Free Spirit, for their Grand Master [1]. That is just one theory among many other

Character Analysis Of Barttleby By Fitzgerald s Bartleby
Bartleby begins from the narrators perspective. He is elderly and works on wall street. A
description of the narrator allows the author to create the setting for the story without needing to
introduce Bartleby in the beginning. This allows the structure to begin slowly and then speed up as
it gains more focus and direction once an opinion on Bartleby is presented from the perspective of
multiple characters.
The narrator attempts to portray himself as humble by stating that he did not speak in vanity but
instead spoke the truth when he described John Jacob Astor opinion of him. The author shows
that the narrator is a calmer individual and rarely outwardly shows his displeasure with
something. Being that the title of the story is Bartleby, the reader may be drawn to question why
the narrator is discussed in such detail in the first few pages of the passage. Other than the
narrator, there are four main characters in the story, each with a different nickname. The narrator
uses Turkey, one of his clerks, to give more description about his own age that is, somewhere not
far from sixty. He seems to want to separate himself from his age and this is indicated when he
states that he is very sad to behold an elderly man like Turkey. This sentence makes it seem as
though the two men are not the same age. Turkey is forced to tell him that they were both getting
old.
Nippers is much younger and the narrator does not feel as though he needs to hide this fact. This
shows that

Betrayal In Mean Girls And The Play Julius Caesar
Lying and betrayal tie together the movie Mean Girls and the play Julius Caesar. In the movie,
Cady lied to her friend, Regina George, and betrayed her by sabotaging important things in her
life, such as her boyfriend, her body, and her friends. In the play, Brutus lied to and betrayed his
best friend Caesar. Brutus stabbed Caesar and killed him for Rome. The movie Mean Girls and the
playJulius Caesar are tied together by many differences, similarities, and important lessons.
One important difference found between the play and the movie is the time period. Caesar is the
leader of Rome with a group of senators that are his servants while Regina is the leader of the high
school Plastics which is a group of three girls: Regina, Gretchen, and Karen. Everybody in the
high school loves and knows everything about the Plastics and the girls look up to them. Caesar
gets killed by Brutus for the sake of the people of Rome and Regina s life gets ruined for the sake
of high school students, for revenge from Janis Ian, and so Cady can steal her boyfriend, Aaron ...

Jealousy took a role in the play when Cassius was explaining to Brutus how, in Cassius s
opinion, Caesar is not better than everybody. He gave examples on the time Caesar was
swimming in a lake with Cassius and nearly drowned, getting saved by Cassius. Cassius
encouraged Brutus to kill Caesar because he thought Brutus was just as good, if not better, than
Caesar.. The ending of Julius Caesar is important because it shows that not everything results in
how people always want it to. Brutus and Cassius both commit suicide in the end of the play. The
importance in the end of the play is the ending isn t always how you want it to be. Before Cassius
and Brutus split up, Brutus was explaining to Cassius that he would never kill himself. In the end,
Brutus killed himself because he didn t want to continue without his best friend,

##arison Of Down By The Sally Gardens And The Lake Isle Of...
William Butler Yeats is considered to be one of the notable poets of Irish literature and had a
major role in Irish politics. One can notice the slow shift from the English style of romanticism
to serious political messages in his poems. A lot of his early works had a lot of motifs and
imagery of nature. I want to examine two of these poems, Down by the Sally Gardens and The
Lake Isle of Innisfree, the way these poems are designed are somewhat similar, but may have
contrasting meanings and may have different contexts.
Down by the Sally Gardens and The Lake Isle of Innisfree both are nature poems, which means,
they use natural aesthetic to describe human emotions. Both of them are early works of W.B. Yeats.
These poems, unlike, Easter 1916 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yeats is starting to talk more about the beauty of Ireland. He is not getting fully political, but he is
definitely more patriotic and is proud to call Innisfree his land. A bit of the poem is like an
incantation. I shall arise and go now, and go to Innisfree (1); And a small cabin build there, of clay
and wattles made: Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honey bee (2 3) While I stand on
the roadway, or on the pavements grey, (The Lake Isle of Innisfree, 11)
There is a lot of description to nature in Innisfree, like, veils of the morning , midnight s glimmer
, noon a purple glow , a place that W.B. Yeats is mentioning in this poem. He is missing the
nature, the feeling of that place that he considers his homeland. With reference to line 11 and
12, it may be because he is in a highly urbanized place, he wants to go back to his Innisfree where
everything was perfect and beautiful. Unlike Down by the Sally Gardens where he uses nature
to describe human emotions of struggle, in The Lake Isle of Innisfree, he believes he will be at
peace over there, And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, (5) This
poem has a tone of an incantation and he uses nature to romanticize the country he loves. It may
also be that the poet is giving Ireland it s own anthem. That can be shown in the last stanza of the
poem, I hear it in the deep heart s core. (12) This line sort of is like he is being called from Ireland
and the Irish

Persuasive Essay About Running
Running is a physically demanding sport. If you are looking for a way to get in shape, then you
should consider running. Running uses every muscle in your body because you are engaging every
aspect of yourself in the activity. Also, running is a great way to incorporate more cardio into your
workout. Runningis not just about getting in shape and staying shape; but running involves many
fun activities and sports.
Some sports that involve running are track and cross country. If you are a competitive individual,
then you should consider track or cross country. If you are a more laid back individual, then you
can take into consideration mud runs or glow/color runs. Those events are always fun, and you get
dirty while participating in the event. Running is a good way to get in shape and have fun doing
so, but before you begin running, you need to know the basics of how to begin.
The first step to begin running is to start with runs/walks. You will start by adding one minute of
running for every four minutes of walking. Gradually increase your running time, so that eventually
you will be running for twice the amount of time that you spend walking. Also, interval running is a
good beginners workout. You start by jogging for one minute, then walking for one minute, then
you should increase the time by one minute each time until you are running for five minutes and
walking for five minutes. The technique you choose should be most comfortable to you.
However, you need to be

Effects Of The Wright Brothers
Exoskeletons: From Arachnid To Human Humans have always had the ability to observe the ways
of the world and then figure out how to improve our living with them. For example, Leonardo da
Vinci, the Wright brothers and others watched birds and their patterns until they figured out a way
to make pieces and parts into a flying machine. Their research has now become airplanes, and
aircraft carriers. By simply seeing the world, they figured out a way to better human transportation.
Since the beginning of time, humans have been flawed. Whether the flaws are internal like mental
disabilities, or external like paraplegia, they have always existed. Sometimes people are born with
these disabilities, other times they develop. Either way, we, as humans have one thing that we
want to do: fix the problem at hand. The Wright brothers are a wonderful example of this. They
wanted to change the way humans traveled from place A to place B, thus they found a solution.
Scientists from all around the world have been working on how to make hemiplegia, paraplegia and
quadriplegiamanageable. With this thought in mind, scientists looked to arachnids, lobsters, crabs,
and other creatures with exoskeletons. They marveled at the outer skeleton and wondered how they
could use that idea to help the disabled. Their idea was to have something support and control the
movement outside the body instead of the inside. If the body itself isn t able to work properly, then
why not make something that can

Abstract
Nitrogen is an essential nutrient for plant growth, and providing the right quantities it helps crops
grow faster and larger. Due to population growth nitrogen base fertilizers are being used around the
world. Even though the use of such fertilizers helps with crop production, the excessive use of them
contributes to the greenhouse effect and global ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Global Warming and the greenhouse gas emission are some of the biggest problems society faces
today. When farmers use highly concentrated nitrogen fertilizers, much of the nitrogen is being
converted to gasses through the nitrogen cycle. The emission of these gasses is one of the main
causes of climate change, especially in the formation of N2O. Climate change is usually associated
with the accumulation of CO2, mainly produced by human activity but N2O is recognized as a
potent greenhouse gas with 298 times higher global warming potential than CO2 (Wang et al.,
2016).
Nitrogen base fertilizers are used around the world and usually contain large amounts of nitrogen.
This excess nitrogen is responsible for soil degradation, groundwater pollution emission of
ammonia and greenhouse gasses (Geng et al., 2015). The problem lies in being able to produce
crops at an effective rate and also being able to reduce the negative effects that nitrogen has in the
environment. This paper examines different researches already done on the effect that nitrogen
base fertilizers has on crops and the alternatives to the common used fertilizers.

Physics of Mountain Biking Essay
Mountain biking is enjoyed by millions of people throughout the year, and is attracting more and
more people everyday. Physics plays a vital role in this sport and without it, mountain biking
would have no challenges and would cease to exist. The concept of mountain biking is simple.
Just take your primitive bike riding skills, and ride trails found off the beaten path. From this
notion of riding a bike, an Olympic sport has evolved and many people have found meaning and
joy in their lives.
m = mass of bike and rider g = gravitational force
A= acceleration mu = kinetic friction coefficient
В· Inertial Forces = m *A
В· Frictional Force = mu * m * g * cos(theta)
В· Gravitational Force = m * g * sin(theta)
Gravity is the force that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case gravity is working to your advantage and is pulling you down the hill. So, as you bike
down hills, you can accelerate due to your own power as well as accelerate due to the force of
gravity.
Lets take a more in depth look at this force called gravity!
The force of gravity exerts a constant acceleration of 9.81 m/sec^2 towards the center of the
earth. While gravity is being exerted downward, a normal force is being exerted on the rider
opposing gravity. This normal force acts perpendicular to the earth s surface, and for our
purposes the trail a biker is riding. So for example, if a biker were on a flat surface, both gravity
and the normal force would be acting upon the biker, but in opposing directions, thereby canceling
each other out and can be ignored. However, this combination of gravity and the normal force is
what makes climbing up hills difficult, and riding down hills a breeze.
In the sport of mountain biking you experience both accelerations and decelerations. This is
what makes mountain biking so exciting, but it also the reason why you should always wear a
helmet! Acceleration is defined as a change in velocity divided by a given amount of time. A
rider accelerates as he or she exerts energy and starts to pedal, but can also accelerate as he or she
rides down a hill, and this acceleration is due to the force of gravity mentioned earlier. As you
accelerate, the weight of the wheels affects the

Character Analysis Of Hugo
Hugo, a film released in 2011, tells the story of a young boy who has had a rough life, who
meets a girl that helps guide him on his journey. Directed by Martin Scorsese, Hugo is a historical
film that is based on the life of Georges Melies, a French illusionist and film director who
contributed heavily to the early developments of cinema. The filmconnects Melies life to the
coming of age story of the main characterHugo, in a way that brings history to from textbooks and
articles to a magical cinematic experience. In the film, there isn t one single recognizable source
of narration. The narration is from an outside perspective, the story not being told by any of the
characters in the film. This is done in a way that shifts from Hugo to Isabelle to Georges giving
insight on each of the characters internal thoughts and feelings. Based on Aristotle s poetics, the
plot of the story can be broken into several elements. The hero is Hugo, a young boy living in
poverty in the early twentieth century. His life has been very rough, many of his family
members dying and leaving him alone in the world. This is Hugo s weakness, that he has
nobody. His loneliness is one of the biggest flaws in his character, because in his situation it
makes him very vulnerable. Being a young boy living in the walls of a train station is very
dangerous, and the fact that he has nobody that would be concerned if something were to happen to
him makes it worse. Before he meets Isabelle, his life consisted

retailers would be considered a consumer use product. Why are there differences? There are
differences between these two sub categories of products because some can be stronger and more
effective than the others. If a woman walks into her local drugstore claiming to have a certain skin
condition, she most likely uses her own knowledge and what is labeled on the package of the
products she is intrigued by. These products are made with less active ingredients, so if the women
chooses the wrong product for her skin type, there won t be as much irritation. In fact, most
consumer use products are mostly composed of fillers and a small amount of the active ingredient.
Even though it may mention this ingredient, having trace amounts of it will lead to minimal
results. Some of these items are not even made to go below the skin s surface which allows for
little to no effects on the skin. A good amount of these consumer use products include eye catching
labels with expressions showing how well they work they are because of their components, but
most of these claims are false because the small doses of

Questions On Vimy Ridge
1.(a) What, according to Source A, were the problems Germans had faced by the Canadian Army
operating the artillery? [3 marks]
Canadian troops were tasked to capture the important Vimy Ridge. The Canadian Army bombarded
the German positions with countless artilleries and it became a week of suffering for the Germans.
This artillery bombardment had helped Canada develop a successful way to defeat Germany. As a
result, Germans faced devastating effects, due to the constant firing by the Canadians. The German
soldiers had little chance to succeed against the artillery as transportation and communications were
destroyed, stopping supplies such as food, medication etc., ammunition and new troops from
reaching the front line because of the endless ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The focus of the painting is based on the two soldiers passing the shell to each other and then into
to the artillery to shoot against the German army. The gesture of working together in harsh
realities carries the message of unity and self sacrifice for the war. One soldier does not have his
uniform on meaning no protective gear that characterizes unselfishness in the center of a great
battle. Furthermore, there is a soldier, who has an injury on his hand, yet still continuing to fight.
The wound shows contribution in the face of danger and heroism marked by the bandaged arm on
his return to the conflict. It sets an example of selflessness and bravery and the artist shows that in
war, sacrifice can be represented by their schedule of duty.

Negotiation Process in Poland
Trust building in Poland. Poland is said to be one of the fastest growing country in European
Union. The elderly people can be conservative because they were brought up in communist times
when economy was centrally planned by the government. But new generation young people are
very open minded.
Relationship and respect
All people in Poland feel they belong to one group. However it does not mean that those people are
not individualistic. The great success in business interactions can be achieved through trust and
long term relationship. Polish people need a time to adjust to the new situation, new culture. They
have to know you. It concerns both visitors and local people as well. During interview e.g. people

It can even break the relationship. Aggressive behavior is also not common among Poles. They
hardly ever show anger or leave rooms. Pressure tactics can result in rejection, especially when
they are not particularly interested in offer. As a pressure tactics we can outline making expiring
offers or applying time pressure (Lothar K., 2008). Poles are prone to grimace and make you feel
guilty by appealing to personal relationship. Defensive tactics are also used, such as blocking,
changing the subject, asking direct questions, making promises, keeping an inflexible position
(Lothar K., 2008).
Bribery and corruption is an issue that Poland try to solve. They can be very common, but on
the other hand everyone has different point of view. Some people find bribes as unacceptable
behavior while other treat it as a incentive to do their job well. There is a thick line between gift
and bribe. It can be understood variously, depending on a value of a gift. It is rather advisable to
not bring any gift. If you bring any, that can mean that your intentions are not clear.
Decision making process
Decision in Poland is usually made by senior managers, who represent the group s interest. We can
say that the style of decision making is semi participative, because often the authority is delegated
to lower level. Managers from lower level have to consult their decisions with top management
level. Polish people are rather

Essay on Biography of William Blake
How you live your life and the people you surround yourself with influence and inspire your work

that he became famous when Alexander Gilchrist published his biography(Blake, William, and

an artist Blake was equated to Michelangelo. Being born during the time of both the American and
French Revolution, William Blakewas against both the Church and the State. Blake was a Dualist,

In June of 1780, the Gordon Riots broke out. The Gordon Riots were non catholic
demonstrations in response to a bill repealing penalties against the practice of Roman
Catholicism . Houses and chapels were burned down and many people were arrested and killed.
In addition, many prisoners were set free. Blake witnessed the burning of Newgate Prison from
the front line. He was mixed in with a mob who attacked the prison (Thomas Wright). Gilchrist
argues that Blake was forced to join the mob. However, many biographers argue that Blake
supported the revolutionists and joined the mob by choice (The Complete Work). August 18,
1782, William Blake, at the age of 24, married 20 year old Catherine Boucher. She was the
daughter of a Battersea market gardener. Though Blake and Catherine had a happy life together,
they did not have any children. Catherine was uneducated and illiterate (Blake, William, and

Watchmen, A Comic Book
Watchmen is a revolutionary piece of literature. It is technically a comic book, some prefer to call it

Victorian Spiritualism Controversy
The Spiritualism was and still is a controversial topic the controversy comes in with what is what
people believe in. Spiritualism was based on the spirits that lived on after death but not everyone
believed or believes in the spirits still existing after death. Spiritualists were mostly women who
within them had many feminists beliefs in which they demonstrated that women should have the
same rights as men. Alex Owen in The Darkened Room: Women, Power, and Spiritualism in Late
Victorian England, introduces how women power became a problem in Victorian society... Despite

Society looked at Spiritualists as mentally ill and that created a problem between medical
practices and spiritualists. In Science and the SГ©ance: Transgressions of Gender and Genre in
Late Victorian London by Judith R. Walkowitz she describes, Spiritualists responded by
elaborating an iconography of male medical evil, portraying the doctor as a fraud and as a
sexuality dangerous man, a divided personality whose science made him cruel, blood thirsty, and
hyper masculine because it suppressed his feminine, spiritual part (Walkowitz 5). The images
that were put out by both sides created a real struggle with knowing what the truth. Did the
women have and illness or was it just the control that the doctors and science had on the society
at the time? Doctors had creditability because they worked of facts. But in this case they were
not working of full facts they were mostly working on diagnoses of how women acted and used
it as a way of justifying their view on spiritualism by using the medical field. The view that
psychiatrists at that time had on spiritualism was that is affected weak minded hysterical women
but in reality these women were very progressed for their time. Spiritualism was a way for
women mostly of middle class to find a sanctuary and create their own culture. The sГ©ance that

Harriet Beecher Stowe And His Family Essay
During the 1800s slavery was common. Although, many people thought it was wrong and sinful,
some actually did not mind the practice. Harriet Beecher Stowe and her family were one of many
who were activists in the anti slavery movement. She was born in Litchfield, Connecticut on June
14, 1811. Her father, Lyman Beecher, was a Calvinist preacher, and her mother, Roxana Foote, died
when she was four. When Stowe was 25 years old, she married Calvin Ellis Stowe, who was also
against slaveryand a well known minister. Stowe s sister, Isabella Beecher Hooker, was an
advocate for women s rights. Another of her sisters, Catherine, founded a school to offer
education for young women. Uncle Tom s Cabin is about the life of Tom, an african slave, who
was sold to a trader because of the debt owed by his master. He was being moved to the South
where he would begin his life like he has never done. Slavery has always been a sorrowful topic, so
when we were given the years between 1492 to 1870, it came to mind right away. Google gave a
handful of books to read, but only this mysterious title stroke curiosity.
The book started off with a conversation between two men, Mr. Shelby, a farmer, and Mr. Haley,
who is a trader. They were discussing the conduct of their slaves. Mr. Shelby had a plethora of
positive things to say about his slaves because he was a very nice person. Mr. Haley on the other
hand, was very negative and did not trust any slave. Shelby spoke about this one particular slave

Stress affects human performance in so many ways that just to list the impact upon work would
take half of this page. People under high stress become forgetful, are often late for work, miss
appointments, have more sick days, have lower competence levels, are more irritable and difficult
to get along with, are more likely to break things (by accident or intention) and are great candidates
for the kinds of stressrelated illnesses and accidents that drain Workers Compensation benefits.
Stress reduction must be a constant, on going process in all our lives. It helps us avoid pain,

The Effects Of Global Warming On The Environment
The government and Darpa have openly admitted in creating a way to manipulate the weather, the
reason the government would have created a way to manipulate weather is for self benefit of the
country or for political reasons, such as dis forming a monstrous hurricane or helping precipitation
occur in an area suffering with drought, the end game in this conspiracy would be for the United
States to have complete control if manipulating the weather anywhere in the world and by doing
this it would allow the U.S. to have total control of the other countries and continents.
Geoengineering is the deliberate manipulation of an environment process that affects the earths

In response to attacks Israel began building the anti terrorism fence to stop West Bank terrorists
from killing Israeli citizens. Whatever analysis is put on the history, there can be no disputing that
the Palestinian Territories (Gaza and the West Bank) have been occupied by Israel since the Six
Day War and that this occupation has had profound implications for the development of the two
occupied territories. The opposing sides have been in an almost continuous state of armed conflict.
The longer the Israeli Palestinian conflict continue, the weaker Israel as a modern state will become.
Regional Implications from Israel s Instability
The West Bank continues to remain an occupied territory with Israel being the occupying power.
Israel s policies in the West Bank have displaced a million Palestinians, forcing them into refugee
status which in turn has led to a refugee influx in neighboring country, Jordan. Palestinian existence
in the West Bank is being increasingly confined to ghettos cut off from farmland, schools, medical
care and from other Palestinians. Some would argue that Israel s aggressive policies against
Palestinians provoke terror attacks on Israeli citizens. The resort to terrorist acts by Palestinians,
especially suicide bombings in crowded public places, has caused them to lose much of the
international sympathy their cause would otherwise benefit from. Similarly, the cruelties of Israelis
to the Palestinians, especially in the ongoing siege of Gaza,

Teenage pregnancy has been famously depicted as a situation that involves the female

Once the population of the pregnant teenagers is compared with all the teenagers, the once who
have been seen to be susceptible to getting pregnant are more likely to have come from the poor or

background (Putnam Hornstein, et al, 2016).
One of the situations that have been seen to be common in southern California is that poorer
teenagers have always not been experienced sexually as teenagers from the advantaged families,
though they have been much likely to become pregnant once they engage in the sexual practice.
The teenagers that have been hailing from the families that are financially stable have been more
likely in terminating the pregnancy once they discover it as compared to those from the
disadvantaged families where the teenagers have been opting to wait for delivery s they cannot
support the termination of the pregnancy. It is a factor that has been supported by the proof of
nearly seventy percent of the high income adolescents who become pregnant ending up in aborting.
The figure is very high as compared to that of the poor and low income families that rage between
20 to 30 percent (Putnam Hornstein, et al, 2013).
The socioeconomic factor has been affecting the education of the people directly and hence
facilitating the cases of teenage pregnancy. It is this aspect that the pregnant teenagers who are the

Jesus s Resurrection Research Paper
Many of us were not alive at the time of Jesus resurrection, but it is still a hot topic all around the
land, especially in light of the 50th anniversary of the amazing event. The story of Jesus and his
resurrection is well known and has been passed down through generations depending on particular
religious thoughts and beliefs. Another significant event that occurred approximately 50 days after
his resurrection is Pentecost. Sources say that around 50 days after the resurrection of Jesus, a group
of his followers, Apostles, were gathered in the great hall hoping to spread the word of God. It is
then said that an abnormal gust of wind blew through the window, and suddenly tongues of fire
appeared above each and every one of the Apostles heads, in turn allowing them to speak a number

Persuasive Essay On Henrietta Lacks
Have you ever wondered what scientists use to test diseases on? Scientists use the immortal cells of
cancer victim Henrietta Lacks to test various diseases and infections. Science, a never ending quest
of destruction and salvation, throughout history many historical figures such as Henrietta Lacks,
Douglas Mawson, and Phineas Gagehave sacrificed much to feed it s endless hunger. Science is
like a great and powerful king that shall never be slain, it forever saves it s people but at the
same time causing destruction among the enemy. Henrietta Lacks has had greater adversities in
the course of contributions to science (feeding the beast) over Douglas Mawson, and Phineas
Gage. The cliche phrase Heroes never die proves true for Henrietta Lacks, over Douglas
Mawson, and Phineas Gage. The story of Gage, Mawson, and Lacks are all interesting topics,
but the Lacks still faced the most adversity out of the three. Henrietta Lacks lost her life for
science, faced great pain during her life, and a slow mental deterioration from knowing with
almost all certainty that she would die. Meanwhile, Mawson led an arctic exploration, and
somehow survived with his life. Gage had a horrible accident and somehow fully recovered from
it. Lacks faced the most adversity due to some quite unethical actions from people around her and
from nature itself, sometimes life just does not work out and that was true in Lack s case. The most
important fact that Lacks faced the most adversity over

Ackley s Descriptive Writing In The Catcher In The Rye
Mr. Spencer Ackley s Descriptive writing The Catcher in The Rye is about a seventeen year old
boy Named Holden who is in a mental hospital. Having a flashback about what happened last
December when he was 16 and just got kicked out of Pencey prep in the story he is trying to
discover the world. Confused about everything does poorly in school and shows depression in
hatred for everyone and everything. Throughout the story he meets people that impact his life
like Mr. Spencer and Robert Ackley. Mr. Spencer a seventy year old man, who is Holden s
history teacher. You may still wonder why he even teaches at his age if you really think about it.
Old and gross two words that come out of readers mind s when reading the story. The minute I
went in, I was sorry I d come he was reading the Atlantic Monthly , and there were pills and
medicine all over the place and everything smelled like Vicks Nose Drops it was pretty
depressing, I m not too crazy about sick people anyway ,what made it more depressing , old
spencer had on this very sad , ratty old bathrobe that he was probably born in it or something, I
don t much like to see old guys in their pajamas and bathrobes anyway (11) this introduces us to
the way adults view Holden and the way he views them in return this a big lack of understanding
Mr . Spencer dosen t know what s wrong with Holden but he wants to help by lecturing Him. Mr.
Spencer is a very nice teacher the character in the story seems to have a connection with Holden.
Even if he failed Holden for not writing his essay on the Egyptians, like he should ve had old
Spencer cares for him deeply. I d like to put a sense in that head of yours boy I m trying to help
you If I can (20) Holden thought differently than his teachers. Mr. Spencer made a big difference,
but that didn t mean he would be the change that still gives the reader a thought on Mr. Spencer
never giving up and having faith that someday things would change for Holden. Robert Ackley a
former roommate of Holden s has many weaknesses. Ackley is dirty, pimply, and all around
unhygienic he s annoying. He ll come into your room and pick your personal stuff and put it back
in the wrong place. He thinks being two years older than Holden and six

Changes During The Elizabethan Era
During The Elizabethan Age, things were a lot, and I mean a lot more different than the things
happening in the now. Things, such as political power, education, government and even literature
have changed drastically because of the constant change happening in our society. In terms of
politics, we differ in the kind of government we are implicating. Back then we used to follow the
political structure of Monarchy, wherein we had a simplified social order of the Monarch or the
queen, the nobility class, the merchants, the yeomans, and the laborers. This structure gave people
with higher ranks complete power over those people on lower ranks. In the Elizabethan Era, Queen
Elizabeth I (the monarch) made all the ultimate decisions for her state.

Prior to this, there were even excavators whose arms and its mechanism for digging were run by
cables, running along pulley systems. Excavators have a wide variety of uses and can be
customized to fit the desired job. The customization of an excavator involves changing of the bucket
or adding hydraulic attachments. The standard bucket can be changed with various sizes of
different types of buckets (ditch/trench cleaning) and other attachments include augers, hammers,
vibratory compactors, dozers, breakers, grapples, thumbs, clamshells, wood clippers, brush cutters
and concrete crushers. Excavators are used in digging of trenches, holes for foundations beams,
general construction or even demolition of old buildings, sewage works, road widening works, pipe
laying and rock breaking and dragging; resources mining which include overburden, removal in coal
mining, gravel collection; forestry works which entails timber handling and prune off work; metal
recycling which involves slag handling and scrap handling; brush cutting with hydraulic

the excavator, an article on hydraulics was used. This article gave a general understanding of the
principles governing the transmission of pressure due to hydraulics and its widespread application.

The Expansion Of Foreign Aid
In the denotation of foreign aid takes many definitions in different literature, but as Tarp
provided it is government transfers from donor countries to under developed or poor countries.
That is intended for promoting development and reducing poverty, although there may be other
aims of giving aid. As there are major trend of foreign aid and most reasonable issues that foreign
aid fluctuated in different years, therefore the paper will look back the trend of foreign aid and it
s changes in globally that has started from 1940s one of the major trend of foreign aid that
happened in the world was European recovery programs known as marshal plan which its main
aim was assistance from United states of America to recover Europe.
Also the paper will focus on how 1980 s oil shocks changed economic nature as well as how
multilateral support increased in 1970 s there were also other foreign aid trends cited in this
paper as the end of Berlin wall and downfall of soviet union and in that time aid has really peaked
in real terms from 1974 to the final of the Cold War as some countries attained greatly UN ODA
target of 0.7% of national income (OECD, 2011)
As the same time second part of this question will discuss reasons why the donor countries grant
bilateral aid to poor and developing countries, rather than financial crises, reducing poverty,
recovery procedures and economic stability which are common but some scholars like (Lumsdaine,
1993) believes that aid are given not only

United States Dollar
Lufthansa
Lufthansa
Lufthansa
In January 1985, a German company that uses Deutschmarks made a large purchase from a U.S.
company that uses U.S. dollars, and needed to evaluate the best hedging alternatives to secure the
least possible cost. The Chairman of Lufthansa, Herr Heinz Ruhnau, purchased twenty 737 jets
from Boeing. The total purchase price was $500,000,000, which was payable in U.S. dollars on
delivery of the aircrafts in one year.
Chairman Ruhnau chose a partial cover by hedging 50% of the exposure with forward contracts,
which was $250 million at the one year forward rate of DM3.2/$. He left the remaining 50% ($250
million) uncovered.
Due to this decision, Lufthansa paid DM225,000,000 more than if Ruhnau would have ... Show

This steady rise showed the U.S. dollar was strong and would steadily increase or fluctuate around
at a similar number.
Scenario 3: The U.S. dollar may decrease
Even though Ruhnau and many others expected the U.S. dollar to decrease, there was no way of
knowing with absolute certainty that would come to fruition and how much it would actually fall.
Ruhnau needed to make a decision with the information he had.
Forecasting
There are various forecasting techniques, which include the Efficient Markets Approach, the
Fundamental Approach, and the Technical Approach. Even if Ruhnau researched and followed
these methods, they would still not predict with certainty the future U.S. dollar rate. They would
either confirm or counter his expectations and he would need to make a decision without being able
to accurately predict the future exchange rate. There are also other factors that could dramatically
affect the U.S. dollar or German Deutschmark, such as unexpected events which could make
significant impacts in appreciation or depreciation.
Necessity, Timing, and Purchase Price
In the 1980 s, Lufthansa increased the number of non stop connections and more dense route
networks (History). The aircraft purchase could have been necessary at this time because the
aircrafts could be used for expansion or growth. Potential sales from expansion opportunities of
adding new flight routes, additional flight time options, or other additional uses would be a

Jamaica Essay

Runaway bay. A town filled with deep rooted culture on an island filled with welcoming natives.
The pleasant vibes of reggae music and Rastafarian culture flow from the hills to the sandy shores.
This island rich with tropical fruits and spices is located in the heart of the Greater Antilles. History
tells that the enslaved island once known to its natives as Xaymeca , has come a long way in
becoming the independent nation known today as Jamaica. In the Sea of many islands known as

today. Marley sang of love and above all else Jah a god in one of the many religions worshiped in
Jamaica. The religion most commonly associated with Jamaican culture is Rastafarianism. This

country with an average family income of 2,000 dollars a year. As a result Jamaican people rely
heavily on the precious U.S. dollar brought in through tourism. Jamaica s number one source for
trade is Bauxite. The mineral rock Bauxite is rich within the rocky coast of the island. Although
the overall status of Jamaican society remains poor, the abundant source of fish, fruits, and spices

1.Introductory Paragraph: Define key words and phrases
What are surfactants? Surfactants are chemicals that reduce the surface tension between two liquids
such as water and oil. It connects both polar and non polar molecules. Surfactants contain both a
water loving head and oil loving tail.
What do they do? Surfactants lower the surface tension of a liquid. They change the properties of
materials.
Examples: Sodium lauryl sulfate, ammonium laureth sulfate, disodium lauryl sulfuccinate
They can be in 3 different groups:
Lipophilic (loves oil)
Hydrophilic (loves water)

(change wording)
Surfactants can break down oils and water
They are able to work with water and oil.
Cleansing the most common use of surfactants in cosmetics is for cleansing. This is because skin
and hair obtain a large amount of dirt from the environment, which is known as solid particulates,
and from hair follicles known as oily deposits, which stays there. Lipophilic substances (oil loving)
attract the oily deposits. Surfactants are used to get rid of them. Through the use of aligning
lipophilic and hydrophilic ends, it is able to take the lipids off the exterior.
Foaming Surfactant solutions can foam, as the air in liquids are trapped in the surfactant molecules.
Foam is often desirable among consumers for cosmetics, so it is a key feature of surfactants.
Emulsification A lot of cosmetic products want to add oily materials to it in order to have the
preferred effect on skin and hair. These ingredients usually can t be applied directly because they
have undesirable aesthetic characteristics in their concentrated form. For this reason, cosmetic
chemists create emulsions using

Comparing Gilgamesh s Polpol Vuh And Other Myths
Polpol Vuh and other Myths After reading the book Polpol Vuh, I was able to instantly point out
many similarities and differences between two other myths that we have read throughout the
class. The first myth that came to mind was Genesis. Genesis and Polpol Vuh both talk of
creation of animals, trees, and mountains, as well as the creation of mankind, After doing
research in the past, I knew that Genesis and Gilgamesh had similarities which then put
Gilgamesh in the category with Polpol Vuh and Genesis. While reading these tales, I was also
able to answer a series of questions based on my opinions. In this essay, I will explain my beliefs
about what the people in these three tales seem to believe about how they came to be, what
qualities they share, what is important to them, why their creator(s) make them, their reason for
being where they are and lastly, what a good person and bad person would be like if these people
wanted to be like their creator(s). I believe that the people in Genesis believe that they are created
from Gods image. In genesis, it states, And God created the human in his image, in the image of
God He created him, male and female He created them. (Norton Vol. A 159)

Similarities Between Harry Potter And Azkaban
One moral issue found in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban revolves around the Fifth
commandment. The Fifth Commandment is, You shall not kill (Saint Mary s Press 185). This
commandment means that Christians should not kill another human(murder, abortion, etc.),
regardless of the matter. Also, any words or actions that can cause harm to another is a violation of
the Fifth commandment(Saint Mary s Press 187). In the Rich Young Man Parable, Jesus
emphasizes the importance of keeping the commandments. He claims that to entire eternal life,

What Are The Negative Effects Of Self Perception And...
Over the past 10 years, social networking sites, specifically Facebook, have gained millions of
users. Since these sites are relatively new, there are not many studies involving human interaction
on the Internet in regards to social networking sites. Facebook has many features, including photo
sharing, chatting with friends, and posting status updates. These features decrease in person
communications while increasing total communication (McAndrew Jeong, 2012; Ozmiek
Förster, 2017). While there may be benefits to unlimited online communication, it also has its
drawbacks. One of the main drawbacks is a change in self perception and self esteem after
Facebook usage. People tend to compare themselves with friends, family members, celebrities, or
complete strangers (Lee, 2014). Per the social comparison theory, negative social comparisons,
through abilities, emotion, personality traits, and appearance, can result in a varied perception of
the self (de Vries KГјhne, 2015; Lee, 2014; van den Berg Thompson, 2007) and self perception is
how people see themselves (de Vries KГјhne, 2015). These social comparisons are continually
growing with the creation and expanded use of social networking sites. While Facebook and other
sites are extremely popular, especially among adolescents and young adults, an excessive amount
of Facebook use can have a negative effect on self esteem, self perception, and well being while
trying to gain peer acceptance and interpersonal acceptance.

  • 2. Types Of Speech Databases IV.Speech Databases Once the features used for emotion detection are selected, the feature vector for a number of training data samples should be obtained. Consequently, the next important phase of building the SER system is to select the database. Prior to selecting the database, it is vital to understand the different kinds of databases available with speech percepts [4]. Datasets for speech signals that can be used for emotion detection should be tagged with a text label that denotes the category of emotion expressed in the speech. Based on the environment used for data collection, the databases can belong to one of the following categories. 1.A simulated dataset in one in which actors who are trained artists record speech percepts in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The volunteers belonged to different genders and cultures and spoke different languages. The emotions recorded in this dataset belong to six categories, namely: Anger, disgust, fear, joy, sadness and surprise. V.Speech Emotion Detection Algorithms The main function of the emotion detection system is to use all the collected data and its features to identify the emotion expressed in it. To perform this a classifier algorithm can be used to create a classification model. There are several options of classification algorithms that can be used for this purpose. Some of the top choices of algorithm based on research and existing systems include Bayes classifier, Support Vector Machines (SVM), Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM), K nearest neighbors (KNN), Hidden Markov Models (HMM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). Bayes classifier [11] is one of the oldest classification algorithm that works based on the Bayes Theorem. Bayes theorem works based on prior probability values and assumes independence between the features used for analysis. The bayes classification model works efficiently on very large datasets. It is simple and easy to build. Bayes classifier used in emotion detection for speech gives an average accuracy of 67%. The nearest neighbor algorithm is a lazy learning algorithm that analyses many training data samples and relates every test data sample to the closest matching train data sample to produce an output [12]. • 3. Analyze Similarities And Differences Between The New... During the 1600 s, England founded the 13 colonies in America. The first settlement in Southern colonial region, called Jamestown, Virginia, and was established to find gold. The first settlement in the New England colonial region, Massachusetts, was established for religious freedom. The New England and Southern Colonies had many similarities and differences in geography, economy, and culture. In both colonial regions, the geography was varied greatly. For example, the geography in the New England colonial region was bad for farming because of the short growing season was cold winters. On the contrary, as stated by document 6, the Southern colonial region had good land for farming, due to most of the settlements being along a river. Also, because the Southern colonial region had rivers running through them, it gave merchant ships an easy route to that region s settlements. The New England colonial region was along the coast, meaning they were usually making the ships when there weren t any merchant ships around. These are the most contrasting details on the geography. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, because the New England colonial region (as stated by document 7) was mostly settled in by Puritans, it was a highly religious region. On the other hand, the Southern colonial region had more religious toleration, and had widely varying reasons for colony creation. Even though some of the southern colonies were created for a multitude of reasons, education wasn t highly valued, money was (Document 3). • 4. The Majority Of Male Characters The majority of male characters in Bernard Shaw s Pygmalion appear to be fundamentally flawed in some important way. Freddy Eynsford Hill is raised as a gentleman and, thus, is a fool who has trouble hailing a cab, let alone finding any suitable occupation for himself. Henry Higgins is well educated but ill mannered, alienating him from society due to his inconsideration for others. Alfred Doolittle appears to lack any sort of morals and seems equally free from fear and conscience. The only male figure who stands out is Colonel Pickering, who seems talented, respectful, and compassionate compared to his competition. Even so, Pickering is only superficially a gentleman; his concern, respect, and treatment for others are overshadowed by his lack of growth and the play s criticism of gentlemanly behavior as a whole. Pickering s true concern and compassion for others, particularly Eliza, distinguish him from the other male characters. His first words to Eliza are, won t you sit down? (Shaw II, 39). This courtesy, which Higgins does not extend, rightfully suggests that he thought and felt about her as if [she] were something better than a scullerymaid, much to Higgins chagrin (V, 122). At the same time, Pickering is not infatuated unlike Freddy (V, 130), who laughably spends most of his nights on Wimpole Street because it s the only place where [he s] happy (IV, 106). All Eliza wants is a little kindness, and Pickering, who is neither inconsiderate nor ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Garden Of Earthly Delights By Hieronymus Bosch Estimated to have been painted sometime between 1505 and 1510, The Garden of Earthly Delights was created by the Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch (who was known for his tenancy to create fantasy like figure painting of demons, machines and sometimes grotesque/frightening imagery). This oil painting is composed of three panels (triptych), measuring 13 feet by 7 feet when all the panels are open. When opening up Bosch s triptych, the first panel reveals a colorful interior filled with strange building, abnormal landforms, and many different types of crossbreed (alien like) creatures. In the front of the left hand panel, there lies three figures who can be assumed to be God himself (standing in between) and the figure of Adam and Eve. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first panel depicts God introducing Adam to the creation of Eve (who was made from Adam s rib bone) and with this first depiction the mankind s initial state of innocence which become corrupted with God s introduction of Eve. However, you ll notice that in the central panel that God is absent from it, which is why it depicts humanity acting in its own free will, in which they are engaging in various sexual activities, in a board view of nude figure, hybrid fairytale like creatures, and oversize fruit and plants. Making the central panel the representation of fleetingness of worldly pleasure. The final panel, which looks like hell, showing the eccentric torment given out to the damned, which is believed to be the vengeance of God for the sins and lust that is depicted in the central panel. This can only can be assumed though because again there isn t any concrete evidence on the true meaning or point to Bosch s Garden of Earthly Delights . Since there isn t much known about the paint true meaning or thesis, there also isn t much evidence on the paintings backstory. Which can only lead us to theorized why or who was the painting commissioned for. One theory comes from Wilhelm Franger s book, The Millennium of Hieronymus Bosch, . Where he argues the painting was commissioned by The Order s Brethren and Sister of the Free Spirit, for their Grand Master [1]. That is just one theory among many other ... • 7. Character Analysis Of Barttleby By Fitzgerald s Bartleby Bartleby begins from the narrators perspective. He is elderly and works on wall street. A description of the narrator allows the author to create the setting for the story without needing to introduce Bartleby in the beginning. This allows the structure to begin slowly and then speed up as it gains more focus and direction once an opinion on Bartleby is presented from the perspective of multiple characters. The narrator attempts to portray himself as humble by stating that he did not speak in vanity but instead spoke the truth when he described John Jacob Astor opinion of him. The author shows that the narrator is a calmer individual and rarely outwardly shows his displeasure with something. Being that the title of the story is Bartleby, the reader may be drawn to question why the narrator is discussed in such detail in the first few pages of the passage. Other than the narrator, there are four main characters in the story, each with a different nickname. The narrator uses Turkey, one of his clerks, to give more description about his own age that is, somewhere not far from sixty. He seems to want to separate himself from his age and this is indicated when he states that he is very sad to behold an elderly man like Turkey. This sentence makes it seem as though the two men are not the same age. Turkey is forced to tell him that they were both getting old. Nippers is much younger and the narrator does not feel as though he needs to hide this fact. This shows that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the play, Brutus lied to and betrayed his best friend Caesar. Brutus stabbed Caesar and killed him for Rome. The movie Mean Girls and the playJulius Caesar are tied together by many differences, similarities, and important lessons. One important difference found between the play and the movie is the time period. Everybody in the high school loves and knows everything about the Plastics and the girls look up to them. • 9. ##arison Of Down By The Sally Gardens And The Lake Isle Of... William Butler Yeats is considered to be one of the notable poets of Irish literature and had a major role in Irish politics. One can notice the slow shift from the English style of romanticism to serious political messages in his poems. A lot of his early works had a lot of motifs and imagery of nature. I want to examine two of these poems, Down by the Sally Gardens and The Lake Isle of Innisfree, the way these poems are designed are somewhat similar, but may have contrasting meanings and may have different contexts. Down by the Sally Gardens and The Lake Isle of Innisfree both are nature poems, which means, they use natural aesthetic to describe human emotions. Both of them are early works of W.B. Yeats. These poems, unlike, Easter 1916 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Yeats is starting to talk more about the beauty of Ireland. He is not getting fully political, but he is definitely more patriotic and is proud to call Innisfree his land. A bit of the poem is like an incantation. I shall arise and go now, and go to Innisfree (1); And a small cabin build there, of clay and wattles made: Nine bean rows will I have there, a hive for the honey bee (2 3) While I stand on the roadway, or on the pavements grey, (The Lake Isle of Innisfree, 11) There is a lot of description to nature in Innisfree, like, veils of the morning , midnight s glimmer , noon a purple glow , a place that W.B. Yeats is mentioning in this poem. He is missing the nature, the feeling of that place that he considers his homeland. With reference to line 11 and 12, it may be because he is in a highly urbanized place, he wants to go back to his Innisfree where everything was perfect and beautiful. Unlike Down by the Sally Gardens where he uses nature to describe human emotions of struggle, in The Lake Isle of Innisfree, he believes he will be at peace over there, And I shall have some peace there, for peace comes dropping slow, (5) This poem has a tone of an incantation and he uses nature to romanticize the country he loves. It may also be that the poet is giving Ireland it s own anthem. That can be shown in the last stanza of the poem, I hear it in the deep heart s core. • 10. Persuasive Essay About Running Running is a physically demanding sport. If you are looking for a way to get in shape, then you should consider running. Running uses every muscle in your body because you are engaging every aspect of yourself in the activity. Also, running is a great way to incorporate more cardio into your workout. Runningis not just about getting in shape and staying shape; but running involves many fun activities and sports. Some sports that involve running are track and cross country. If you are a competitive individual, then you should consider track or cross country. If you are a more laid back individual, then you can take into consideration mud runs or glow/color runs. Those events are always fun, and you get dirty while participating in the event. Running is a good way to get in shape and have fun doing so, but before you begin running, you need to know the basics of how to begin. The first step to begin running is to start with runs/walks. You will start by adding one minute of running for every four minutes of walking. Gradually increase your running time, so that eventually you will be running for twice the amount of time that you spend walking. Also, interval running is a good beginners workout. You start by jogging for one minute, then walking for one minute, then you should increase the time by one minute each time until you are running for five minutes and walking for five minutes. The technique you choose should be most comfortable to you. However, you need to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Effects Of The Wright Brothers Exoskeletons: From Arachnid To Human Humans have always had the ability to observe the ways of the world and then figure out how to improve our living with them. For example, Leonardo da Vinci, the Wright brothers and others watched birds and their patterns until they figured out a way to make pieces and parts into a flying machine. Their research has now become airplanes, and aircraft carriers. By simply seeing the world, they figured out a way to better human transportation. Since the beginning of time, humans have been flawed. Whether the flaws are internal like mental disabilities, or external like paraplegia, they have always existed. Sometimes people are born with these disabilities, other times they develop. Either way, we, as humans have one thing that we want to do: fix the problem at hand. The Wright brothers are a wonderful example of this. They wanted to change the way humans traveled from place A to place B, thus they found a solution. Scientists from all around the world have been working on how to make hemiplegia, paraplegia and quadriplegiamanageable. With this thought in mind, scientists looked to arachnids, lobsters, crabs, and other creatures with exoskeletons. They marveled at the outer skeleton and wondered how they could use that idea to help the disabled. Their idea was to have something support and control the movement outside the body instead of the inside. If the body itself isn t able to work properly, then why not make something that can ... Global Warming and the greenhouse gas emission are some of the biggest problems society faces today. When farmers use highly concentrated nitrogen fertilizers, much of the nitrogen is being converted to gasses through the nitrogen cycle. The emission of these gasses is one of the main causes of climate change, especially in the formation of N2O. Climate change is usually associated with the accumulation of CO2, mainly produced by human activity but N2O is recognized as a potent greenhouse gas with 298 times higher global warming potential than CO2 (Wang et al., 2016). Nitrogen base fertilizers are used around the world and usually contain large amounts of nitrogen. This excess nitrogen is responsible for soil degradation, groundwater pollution emission of ammonia and greenhouse gasses (Geng et al., 2015). The problem lies in being able to produce crops at an effective rate and also being able to reduce the negative effects that nitrogen has in the environment. This paper examines different researches already done on the effect that nitrogen base fertilizers has on crops and the alternatives to the common used fertilizers. With the confusion on their faces as well, it could be assumed that some people did not even know that they could take belongings with them to the camps. It could also be assumed that many in the line are not sure why they have to register in these camps, as they have been living normal American lives up until this point in 1942. Physics plays a vital role in this sport and without it, mountain biking would have no challenges and would cease to exist. The concept of mountain biking is simple. Just take your primitive bike riding skills, and ride trails found off the beaten path. From this notion of riding a bike, an Olympic sport has evolved and many people have found meaning and joy in their lives. m = mass of bike and rider g = gravitational force A= acceleration mu = kinetic friction coefficient В· Inertial Forces = m *A В· Frictional Force = mu * m * g * cos(theta) В· Gravitational Force = m * g * sin(theta) Gravity is the force that ... So, as you bike down hills, you can accelerate due to your own power as well as accelerate due to the force of gravity. Lets take a more in depth look at this force called gravity! The force of gravity exerts a constant acceleration of 9.81 m/sec^2 towards the center of the earth. While gravity is being exerted downward, a normal force is being exerted on the rider opposing gravity. This normal force acts perpendicular to the earth s surface, and for our purposes the trail a biker is riding. So for example, if a biker were on a flat surface, both gravity and the normal force would be acting upon the biker, but in opposing directions, thereby canceling each other out and can be ignored. However, this combination of gravity and the normal force is what makes climbing up hills difficult, and riding down hills a breeze. In the sport of mountain biking you experience both accelerations and decelerations. This is what makes mountain biking so exciting, but it also the reason why you should always wear a helmet! Acceleration is defined as a change in velocity divided by a given amount of time. A rider accelerates as he or she exerts energy and starts to pedal, but can also accelerate as he or she rides down a hill, and this acceleration is due to the force of gravity mentioned earlier. • 19. Character Analysis Of Hugo Hugo, a film released in 2011, tells the story of a young boy who has had a rough life, who meets a girl that helps guide him on his journey. Directed by Martin Scorsese, Hugo is a historical film that is based on the life of Georges Melies, a French illusionist and film director who contributed heavily to the early developments of cinema. The filmconnects Melies life to the coming of age story of the main characterHugo, in a way that brings history to from textbooks and articles to a magical cinematic experience. In the film, there isn t one single recognizable source of narration. The narration is from an outside perspective, the story not being told by any of the characters in the film. This is done in a way that shifts from Hugo to Isabelle to Georges giving insight on each of the characters internal thoughts and feelings. Based on Aristotle s poetics, the plot of the story can be broken into several elements. The hero is Hugo, a young boy living in poverty in the early twentieth century. His life has been very rough, many of his family members dying and leaving him alone in the world. This is Hugo s weakness, that he has nobody. His loneliness is one of the biggest flaws in his character, because in his situation it makes him very vulnerable. Being a young boy living in the walls of a train station is very dangerous, and the fact that he has nobody that would be concerned if something were to happen to him makes it worse. • 20. Professional Use And Consumer Use Products Within both professional use and consumer use products, there are some differences, but nothing that will give a distinct comparison. Professional use products are only sometimes directed to be used by salon professionals, not by the average user. Consumer use products are distributed more to the drugstores, and retailers that then disperse them to the public. In fact any product in retailers would be considered a consumer use product. Why are there differences? There are differences between these two sub categories of products because some can be stronger and more effective than the others. If a woman walks into her local drugstore claiming to have a certain skin condition, she most likely uses her own knowledge and what is labeled on the package of the products she is intrigued by. These products are made with less active ingredients, so if the women chooses the wrong product for her skin type, there won t be as much irritation. In fact, most consumer use products are mostly composed of fillers and a small amount of the active ingredient. Even though it may mention this ingredient, having trace amounts of it will lead to minimal results. Some of these items are not even made to go below the skin s surface which allows for little to no effects on the skin. A good amount of these consumer use products include eye catching labels with expressions showing how well they work they are because of their components, but most of these claims are false because the small doses of ... We had to carry these items for a while. We walked carrying these items to where the coaches were going to set this up. The coaches and the volunteers put this slide together on the grass hill. They used this ramp from the storage room. They poured a lot of soap on it, then the water from the hose.
