Essay Death
Crafting an essay on the subject of death is an inherently challenging task. The complexity lies
not only in the sensitivity of the topic but also in the profound and diverse perspectives that
surround it. Addressing death necessitates a delicate balance between introspection and
objective analysis, as well as the ability to navigate the intricate emotions and beliefs associated
with the concept.
One of the primary difficulties is the personal nature of death. It's an inevitable part of the
human experience, and individuals approach it with varying degrees of acceptance, fear, or
philosophical contemplation. Capturing the essence of such a universally significant but
profoundly individual phenomenon requires a nuanced understanding of human psychology and
an ability to communicate empathetically.
Furthermore, the diversity of cultural, religious, and philosophical perspectives on death adds
another layer of complexity. The essay must navigate the delicate terrain of respecting differing
beliefs while providing a comprehensive exploration of the subject. It demands extensive
research to encompass a broad spectrum of viewpoints and to present an inclusive and unbiased
perspective.
The emotional weight associated with death can also make it challenging to maintain objectivity.
The writer must skillfully balance the intellectual aspects of the topic with the emotional impact
it has on individuals and societies. Striking this balance requires a keen awareness of the
potential impact of words and a thoughtful consideration of the essay's tone.
Additionally, addressing the existential questions surrounding death requires a philosophical
depth that challenges the writer's ability to articulate complex ideas coherently. Tackling
questions about the meaning of life, the afterlife, or the absence thereof demands a profound
engagement with existential philosophy, theology, and metaphysics.
In conclusion, writing an essay on death is a formidable undertaking that requires a writer to
navigate the intricacies of human experience, cultural diversity, and existential philosophy. It
demands a delicate balance between empathy and objectivity, as well as a commitment to
exploring a topic that touches the core of what it means to be human.
For those seeking assistance in handling such intricate topics, various resources are available.

Bil Baird Case Study
Bil Baird collection is considered a spectacular attraction at the MacNider Art
Museum in Mason City. In 1975 Baird and his wife Susanna were in Mason City
attending Rotary Club as guests. At the end of the meeting Dick Leet decided to
introduce himself and invite the couple to the MacNider Museum. After Baird and
Susanna had completed a long tour that day the question was asked if Baird might
be interested in having an exhibit with his puppets at the museum. The Art of the
Puppet: Bil Baird was opened to the public August 15 September 12 in 1976. Baird
arrived a week earlier to the exhibit and conducted puppetry workshops at the
museums Summer Arts Festival. At the end of the second expansion in 1979 Baird

Analysis Of The Film The Flies By F. Scott Fitzgerald
Artistically speaking, this film is beautiful. There was a lot of thought put into
every detail from the actors to the camera shots. The film seems to flow in
beautiful manner from one scene to the next. One piece of art in the film is the use
of symbols. Each symbol is delicately placed in order to make sense to any viewers
that can pick up on them. One symbol is Nick s obsession with his Peace Lily. It
represents his obsession with the job. It is the only other thing he cares for because
its needs are simple and by the books. When he breaks it, it is supposed to symbolize
his change of heart; that somebody has taken the place of the lily. Another symbol in
the filmis the number 3. There are 3 murders that take place before people believe
Nicholas. There are 3 people Nick tries to talk to in order to get out of being sent to
Sanford. Many lines are repeated 3 times over. This could be in reference to
fairytales always using the number 3, since this plot seems far fetched like a
fairytale. However, it could also be in reference to the trilogy of films that Wright
and Pegg made together. Then, there is the swan symbol. Swans typically symbolize
grace, beauty, and peace. In the film, though, the swans symbolize an overbearing
distraction. Nicholas is constantly surrounded by them in the hotel he stays at, which
is rightly called The Swan Hotel . He is also charged with the task of catching an
escaped swan. This causes him to miss many chances to catch the perpetrators of
Olympics Of 1932 Research Paper
On February 4th, 1932, the third winters Olympics were held, but it was the first
time it happened in United States. 1932 was a time of great depression, not the best
of times, but despite economic crisis, Lake Placid, New York, embraced the games.
They did not gain monetarily, but the games were so publicized, that popularity for
the Olympic Gamesincreased immensely from it. The Olympics come as far as 776
BC, from the ancient Greece, but the first official winter games were held in 1924
in Chamonix France. The sole purpose was to bring the world together in a
peaceful matter, but it was also to celebrate the strongest athletes. The Olympics
have carried the torch every four years ever since, and today over 90 countries
participate. On February 4th 1932, Paul Jones, a 17 year old boy scout participated
in the festivities of the
Olympics; he did not think anything of it, and never thought to mention it to his own
children, until his fifty years old son discovered a picture in a museum with his father
at the 1932 games. No one would have anticipated the enormous phenomenon that
would become of the Olympics. Even at times of turmoil, it brought solidarity, and
also friendly competition between alias and even adversaries. 17 countries including
United States participated in Lake Placid Games; 84 years later, Nations involve in

Appendix 1 presents two tables with all the relevant indicators. Most of the cars
are purchased using a loan, hence that if the interest rate goes up; a decline in sales
is to follow as taking a loan becomes less attractive (ONS, 2009). One prospective
forecast though, is that the interest rate is expected to remain around 0.5% until
recovery is commencing although the oil prices are rocking sky high which makes
it more expensive to both produce and use the car (ONS, 2009).In 2008, the
unemployment rate was 5.7% of the economically active population and has
increased to 7.9% between past May to July which indicates that there are more
people available at higher qualifications to do the job, but at the same time,
production levels in the UK are cut (HRM Guide, 2009). This fall in car
manufacturing can also be traced back to the steel producing firm Corus who
announced to cut 3,500 jobs of which 2,500 in the UK at the beginning of this year.
Steel prices had seen a rapid rise worldwide, before the recession. The sudden
decline in current recession prices, evident in Table 1, could enable Primo to

Demographic Differences Between Miami And New York
The city of Miami and the city of New York are two cities of great importance for
the United States. The differences between these two cities are very imprecise. Both
have several differences in terms of population, transport and climate.
As for the population, New York is the most populated city in the United States, with
an estimated population in 2005 of 8 213 839.87 This is about 40% of the total
population of the state and a similar percentage of the total of its metropolitan region
. During the last decade, the population of the city has been growing, and
demographers estimate that by 2030 it will reach a total of between 9.2 and 9.5
million inhabitants. In deference to the city of New York, Miami is the forty second
most populous city in the United States. The metropolitan area of Miami, which
includes the counties of Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, has a combined
population of more than 5.4 million inhabitants, being the fourth largest in the
country (behind Chicago) and the largest in the southeast of the United States.30 In
2008, the United Nations estimated that the urban ... Show more content on

level, this percentage is 8% .120. The New York subway is the largest metro
system in the world according to the length of its roads (1062 km) and is also the
one with the most active stations, with 468. It is also the fourth with the highest
number of annual passengers, with 1400 million in 2005. Unlike New York, Miami
is not a city that stands out for its excellent public transport network since, in
addition to not having a very extensive network, the city is very large and the points
of interest are very far of others. Due to this reason, the vast majority of people who
visit Miami decide to rent a

An Effective And Economical Approach For Extracting
Depth...
Abstract:
In the reference paper, an effective and economical approach for extracting depth
information and recovering sharp image is provided. Mainly, a new deconvolution
method, sparse prior provides more accurate deconvolution results and improves
depth discrimination; so, both image information and depth information can be
recovered from the modified photograph taken by the camera using coded aperture.
In my paper, two optimizations for the deconvolution will be provided by using
regular iterative least square method (RILS) and iterative reweighted least square
method (IRLS). By using the optimization deconvolution algorithms, we can recover
the original image with more acceptable recovered image. The runtime for the original

Background:
In the reference paper, a photo taken by camera follows: y=f*x+n пј€2
пј‰ where f is
a scaled version of the aperture, the n is noise, the x is the real sharp image and the
y is the received photo. Accordingly, if f is already known (how to design f is
discussed in the reference paper), people needs to deconvolve y to recover x. There
are several deconvolution algorithms currently, including Richardson Lucy
deconvolution algorithm. In this work, a new deconvolution strategy, the sparse prior
, is proposed.
Assume that the derivatives of the unobserved real x follows a zero mean Gaussian
distribution, so it follows:
P(x)в€
ќв€
Џ_(i,j)в–’e^( 0.5О±((x(i,j) x(i+1,j))^2+(x(i,j) x(i,j+1))^2)) (3)
Consider (x(i,j) x(i+1,j))^2 and (x(i,j) x(i,j+1))^2 are the convolution between gx =
[1, 1] and x, gy = [1, 1] T and x, respectively. Accordingly, the P(x) can be expressed
as:
P(x)в€
ќN(0,О± (CgxTCgx+ CgyTCgy) 1) (4) where a should be a constant that is
selected by human, Cgx and Cgy are the convolution matrix for gx and gy,
respectively. Assume n ~ N(0, О·2I), the resulted photo y can be expressed as:
P(y)в€
ќN(0, CfTО± (CgxTCgx+ CgyTCgy) 1Cf+ О·2I) (5)
Under this statistical model, the deconvolution problem can be
My Personal Statement On My Interview Essay
The person I used to conduct my interview was my step mom, Chris Howell. We
are very close to one another, and she has been with my dad since I was 4. I would
consider her my mom not my step mom. Since she lives 4 hours away, I was
unable to meet with her in person for the interview so a phone call was necessary.
She s a very outgoing person, who is great at making conversation and telling
stories. Even though it would have been more ideal to meet in person to conduct
the interview, the phone call still felt natural and helpful. A few times over the
course of the interview it was hard to hear what she had said. I did not want to
interrupt her, so I missed a few details. Overall, it went very well, and it lasted the
perfect amount of time. Since I am her daughter and already know key
characteristics about her life, she felt comfortable sharing with me. Even when
talking about her ex husband, she did not hold back. To begin, Christine Howell
was born January 12th 1958 in Williamsport, PA. The Susquehanna River flows
through Williamsport, and Williamsport is a very manufacturing and industry
based place. It was the lumbering capital of world in the 1800s. As a result, there
are a lot of beautiful homes of all styles. She grew up in a beautiful 6 bedroom
Victorian home that had 10 feet ceilings, a huge staircase, and pocket doors. She is
the 2nd oldest with 4 sisters and 1 brother. She described her home life as wonderful
and traditional. Her dad was the breadwinner of the
Candide Satire Analysis
The animalize practice of slavery causes Candide to give up on optimism. In his
travel to the New World, Candide and Cacambo meet a slave, who is missing his
left and right hand (51) lying down half naked on the ground. The slave tells
Candide about the terrible living condition and cruel punishment that he received and
that his parents sold him for ten Patagonian crowns (51) to slave trader. Ironically,
the slave says, it s normal (51) for them to get this kind of treatment because it was
common back then. And, the Dutch sorcerers, who converted him, tell him we are all
children of Adam, white and black (51). Voltaireused his satirical attack on society
and religious of what really happen at the time. The author is judging the priests who
do not practice what they preach.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was certainly no equality in human since slave is treated so badly. Slave
traders did not care what would happen to the slaves as long as they get money and
make profits from it. It was common for many French colonies that make their
wealth through trading slaves. It is a wake up call from reality for Candide, an
innocent, after his trip from El Dorado, a utopian society where people are happy.
This event causes Candide to question himself of his belief, since El Dorado is
totally different from Surinam, where Candide meets the slave. Everyone in El
Dorado is equal even the King. The custom of El Dorado is to embrace the King and
kiss on both cheeks (48), no bow are required, which is not possible in the real life.
Candide s belief, the world is perfect, starts to fade away. From what he sees,
Candide weeps and starts to lost hope in Pangloss s theory: everything being made
for an end, everything is necessarily for the best end and
Puritan Ideology In Early America
Puritan ideology had a profound effect upon early America. Though they came to the
New World mainly for religious freedom after attempting to purify the Church of
England, they left an impact beyond just the spiritual as many men of the Puritan
faith helped shape the young country. This obviously led to the Puritans having a
dramatic effect on the literature The whole life of a Puritan was dedicated to God,
as He was the only one who could offer salvation from eternal damnation. They
believed that humans are sinners incapable of earning God s merit on their own,
and for that reason they observed strict moral codes in order to ensure that they may
receive God s grace. This central idea, God s long withstanding mercy, a central idea
reflected in many of the early writings of America... Show more content on

One of his sermons, A Model of Christian Charity espouses central Puritan ideals.
As stated before the Puritans believed in a strict moral code in order to gain God s
grace. One means of living up to this code was helping those who were less
fortunate. Winthrop not only recommended charity towards others but stated it was
a Christian duty saying, When there is no other means by whereby our Christian
brother may be relieved in his distress, we must help him beyond our ability (208).
In other words, he believed that as Christians the people should go through drastic
measures in order to help his common man. This lends itself to Puritan ideals, as he
personally believed this was a way of completing one s covenant with God and later
suggested that if all Christians can strive to practice the morals expressed in the Bible
that they could perhaps create a utopian community as a safe haven for all including
the Native Americans. This in particular was important at the time as the writings of
Winthrop can perhaps be attributed to improving relationships between the colonist
and their neighbors in the new

(Colo. 1974), the Court sets forth The essence of procedural due process is
fundamental fairness. This embodies adequate advance notice and an opportunity to
be heard prior to state action resulting in deprivation of a significant property
interest. The test set forth in Mathews establishes the requirements for determining if
a fishing license should be revoked. When applying this test you see that 1. Mr.
Kendall has a vested interest in the fishing license, 2. There is a risk of depriving Mr.
Kendall erroneously of his license, and 3. The government has an interest is keeping
Mr. Kendall within the perimeters of his license. Additionally, when looking to
Mathews, the Court decided that the license holder can only have their license taken
away if they are convicted of a criminal offense. Mr. Kendall was not convicted of a
criminal offense. It is seen in Woodrow and Mountain States, that in an administrative
hearing the defendant must be given adequate notice and the opportunity to be heard.
Woodrow also establishes that the opportunity to be heard can be accomplished
without an actual hearing. Mr. Kendall was informed of the administrative hearing
and had the opportunity to submit evidence on his behalf. Mountain States is clear
when it states that the defendant must have an opportunity to be heard prior
Definition Of Quality And Customer Retention
My Article discussed why it necessary to have a clears definition of quality and what
customer satisfaction is .The first point that this article makes is summed exactly by
the first line of the abstract that, No consensus has been reached on a definition for
quality; the term is defined differently for products and services, for different
industries, and for different levels of dimensionality (Wick, Rothelin, 2009, p.1) This
study investigates the major definitions of quality and the antecedents of customer
retention to establish a foundation for a new definitionof quality based on satisfaction.
Quality is defined as the summation of the effective evaluations by each customer of
each attitude object that creates customer satisfaction. ... Show more content on

For a company to utilize quality management, effectively it has to get a clearly
defined meaning of it to be active. A great struggle is overcoming conventional
wisdom regarding quality. Managers and others alike seem to be embedded that
quality means goodness; that error is inevitable; and that people don t give a damn
about doing good work. From what I Quality is a free component that can be used
with no expense to an operation or product. Using quality management in a
company is a way of ensuring that activities will go right the first time, and the way
they are planned. Our world in business now is so complicated; quality management
is needed. For a company nowadays to not have some type of control for the
standards of the company should be considered solecism. To find your standards of
quality, all the right steps have to be measured correctly. Measurement becomes a
matter of defining expectations. A problem that companies run into is they have
difficulty measuring important aspects of their progress. I believe that organization is
the key to observing progress accurately.
Another main point I took from the article was that as the economy expands,
customers nowadays have more choices for where they get their services and
products. Businesses should have adequate models in place to satisfying customers
needs to keep retention. Customers have so many options that can quickly turn them
away from their
Wage Discrimination And The Gender Wage Gap
Wage Discrimination and the Gender Wage Gap They say, We ve come a long
way baby! They are both correct and incorrect at the same time. While it is true
that women have come a long way from June Cleaver and the typical 50 s
housewife to the modern two parent working household, statistically, it would take
women approximately one extra day of work per week to earn the same as their
male counterpart. So, while women have begun to work in higher paying
professional and managerial jobs that before were typically held by men; they are
paid less. This is genderdiscriminationand is commonly known as the Gender Wage
Gap. There are many arguments as to why there is a wage gap between men and
women; there are those who argue that women are taking lower paying jobs, so
they can attend to the needs of their families. Others argue that women are
purposely choosing fields that pay less. One thing is clear, though: a gender wage
gap exists, and if steps are not taken to remedy this situation, women may never see
equal pay for equal work.
To understand the Gender Wage Gap, we need to review the history of the working
woman; how and why they began to enter the workforce. Before World War II
women generally only worked outside of the home until they were married. In the
1940s, there was an increase of married women into the workforce due to a wartime
economy (Goldin). Women entered the workforce at that time for many reasons;
patriotic duty, a husband s tour of duty
Lovers From The Lais Of Marie De France As A Children s

Kerstin Oxford
HP 1020: Paper 3
Chevrefoil Adapted Imagine a story of lovers from The Lais of Marie de France as
a children s book. It would show the events true love can overcome, and inevitably
end in a happy ending. The stories would have to be adapted in such a way to
where all the details were appropriate for a child. It must be wrote to where the story
would not be over their head, so they could fully understand the story. My adaption of
Chevrefoil from The Lais of Marie de France into a children s book would
essentially fall into the same category as the stories about love between a prince and
a princess. Children love the type of stories where two people fall in love and are
able to be together. Since the original Lai is fairly short it would allow most of the
details to be included, without running a story that s too long for a child s
attention span. The book would be appropriately illustrated, filling it with
entertaining pictures that children would love. The adaption would be called Love
and Honeysuckles, as it s short and catchy, and honeysuckles is a word that
children may think is silly especially combined with love, which would have them
somewhat intrigued before starting the book. Children when inclined learn many
lessons from the books they read. A lot of older literature is already referenced in
children books today; this is where a lot of us have gained a basic knowledge of
history or previous literature. This adaption is needed for just this

devout Roman Catholics; her faith was deeply intertwined with the overall theme and

the Misfit In the midst of such heartbreak and violence, the grandmother was able to

Children often interpret that parents chose to separate and leave, while they

Whenever a parent remarries and other children are involved, the children can feel

particular are among the longest lasting and most influential relationships in an
individual s lifetime (Shalash 288). Relationships with siblings definitely affects
emotions. Emotions vary when it comes to siblings; they can range from anger and
jealousy to joy and gratefulness. Siblings can go from calm and loving while
spending time together to fighting physically or verbally within moments. With
multiple siblings, favorites are often chosen by parents or siblings so the other

William Blake Had A Strict Standard On How His Poems
Should
William Blake had a strict standard on how his poems should appear. In his poems,
he was not very concerned with grammar or spelling, even though he was writing
in a time much after the official English language had been created. Much of his
spellings are very old fashioned to us and at times can sound very awkward. Even
his readers in his time found that the wording and spelling of phrases and words was
quaint. William Blakealso used forms of punctuation that were not considered to be
standard. He used the ampersand , instead of the word and. Following his unorthodox
style, William Blake did not print his poems in type, instead he engraved them on an
illustrated background. Engraving is now usually referred to as handwritten,... Show

Theological tyranny is the subject of The Book of Urizen (1794). In the prose
work The Marriage of Heaven and Hell (1790 93), he satirized oppressive authority
in church and state, as well as the works of Emanuel Swedenborg, a Swedish
philosopher whose ideas once attracted his interest. Blake s main concept was
imagination and many people questioned if he was brilliant or just completely
insane. William Blake was influenced by many great thinkers of his day, and was
well aware of the conflicts that were arising between science and the arts in his era.
In his work, he makes sure to define reason and explain how it differs from passions.
He even assigned personalities to represent the conflicts and characteristics of these
definitions in his poetry and art. There have been many men who loved to speculate
the future. William Blake was one of these men, and if he spoke incoherently and
obscurely, it was because what he spoke had never been discovered before. He
announced the religion of art, which no man had ever done before him, and he
understood it better than anyone else. He published his most popular collection,
Songs of Innocence, in 1789 and followed
What Is The Purpose Of Illuminati
I believe the majority of you don t have knowledge about what illuminati stands for,
others might know what it symbolize but they ve never gone too deep into the
subject to really understand its purpose and how it works. I am going to start off by
introducing you all to the basic definition of illuminati.
Illuminati is a secret society of the world s most powerful and wealthiest citizens. Its
ultimate goal is to control the world and to build one big society full of Illuminists.
We are ruled by it, we are manipulated into believing what they want us to believe,
into voting who they want to be the next leader, into being what they want us to be.
Illuminati isn t just this group of loaded ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Other (often more talented) musicians follow up on that trend and create their own
version of the new idea. Those musicians can be ordinary people like you and me,
who have never been close to Governmental Mind Control. Those musicians (and
actors) don t have to be severely mind controlled to unknowingly help out with the
Agenda of the Elite. They just jump on the same train and the snowball effect is
starting. Thus, the Illuminati, who started the trend, can sit back and watch. We, the
citizens, are doing the rest for them.
5. Other gifted musicians and actors, who are creating art that goes outside the
Agenda or against it have no chance to get their message out broadly, because
nobody at the top of the Industry (where the money is) is willing to promote them.
The International Bankers (The Illuminati) are the ones who own the Industry. As
soon as someone is creating something (may be music, a new label with contrary
ideas or something similar) that opposes what is next on the Agenda, the Illuminati
is quick to buy it out. If the Company refuses to sell, they are threatened. We all have
seen Mafia Movies. This is the way it is but on different
How Black Lives Matter Uses Social Media To Fight The

The emergence of the Internet in the 21st century has dramatically changed how
we communicate. It has opened a new avenue for facilitating human interaction.
Information that would otherwise take hours or even days to be made public, now
take seconds with a click of a button. Is this good or bad? What are the
consequences of rapid fire quick communication style that we have adopted? In
articles How Black Lives Matter Uses Social Media to Fight The Power, and The

the pros and cons. Stephen discusses new mass mobilization structures social media

Paragraph 6: Law Enforcement s Involvement
The U.S. Government and the law enforcement have become involved due to the
sensitive nature of the issues presented in both stories. Both the government and the
police are having to adapt to how crime is changing in the presence of social media.
In How Black Lives Matter Uses Social Media to Fight The Power, the ubiquity of

has put forward a bunch of specific policy proposals to uproot police violence

Rossetti Manuscripts and Innocence and the Songs of Experience
Innocence and the Songs of Experience, and the poems from the Rossetti
manuscripts, are the poems of a man with a profound interest in human emotions, and
a profound knowledge of them. (Grant, Pg 507) These two famous books of poetry
written by William Blake, not only show men s emotions and feelings, but explain
within themselves, the child s innocence, and man s experience. A little over two
centuries ago, William Blake introduced to the English literary world his two most
famous books of poetry: the

Blake uses a fairly clever conceit in the last stanza to have the Piper manufacture a
rural pen out of a hollow reed, rather then to pluck one from a bird, for it is a
routine pastoral fact that pipes are made of hollow reeds; the pen, then, is thus a
transformed pipe. And I made a rural pen, And I stain d the water clear, And I wrote
my happy songs, Every child may joy to hear.
Clear suggests innocent and to stain clear water is symbolically to corrupt
innocence, water being as clear and fluid as the air or cloud which are home to the
child. Yet
stain d in one context may have moral connotations, while in another it may not. For
instance, in church, one is not troubled by the thought of stained glass windows?
This is one example of Blake s ambiguities. Blake is filled with secondary and
tertiary counter meanings that lurk like quicksand or trapdoors underfoot, and an
innocent reader of
Blake must learn from experience to tread tiptoe through the primary level (which
turns out not to be primary after all) and to leap and dance along all the others.
(Ferber, Pg 5)
Another example of this allegedly ambiguity is within the first stanza of The
Shepherd : How sweet is the Shepherds sweet lot, From the morn to the evening he

The shepherd, who should be looking for stray sheep, has gone astray himself. This

Political Stereotypes
Leaders throughout history have made a vital choice regarding their reputations,
deciding whether he or she desires to be feared or loved by his or her citizens. Many
have chosen to instill fear, in hopes that such an arrangement will lead to more
absolute control. Others opted for love, coveting peace and cooperation between
citizen and government. Whichever they choose, leaders have repeatedly chosen one
method over the other. As time time passes, however, citizens demand more dynamic
and flexible leaders. In response, political advertising has evolved to mirror public
opinion, producing ads that portray candidates in multiple ways, from varying
perspectives, and in initially counterintuitive lights. In Fear and Quoting , the

The combined effect is one that amplifies the intensity of the entire advertisement.
The moving frames adds a sort of franticness to the the ad, which magnifies the need
for Marco Rubio s leadership. Further, the moving text of the quotes and the enlarging
captions both emphasize the words on screen and make Rubio appear to the a steady
leader in the midst of all the instability. When coupled with the music, this effect is
amplified. The music would not be out of place in a Jason Bourne chase scene,
heightening the tone of the entire advertisement. There also is a pronounced shift in
the music; when Marco Rubio is depicted greeting supporters and making dals, the
music brightens considerably which adds a more positive connotation to this section
of the ad. The brightening of the music occurs simultaneously with the
aforementioned brightening of color, which markedly multiplies the overall impact of
the two choices. Thus, the moving frame and shifting music work well to reiterate the
multiple facets of Rubio s leadership
Bringing Chicago to Life
Carl Sandburg describes Chicago as a tough and hefty city. Chicago is portrayed as
a proud city, a city proud to be so strong and cunning whereas other cities of the
time were not. Chicago is characterized by the people and workers who live in it.
Sandburg loves Chicago even though it is a brutally tough city. Sandburg uses
imagery, personification, and punctuation to characterize the city as an actual person.
Sandburg uses imagery that gives Chicago the reputation of being wicked, crooked,
and brutal. The author gives references of when people have called the city such
names. Sandburg says, And they tell me you are crooked and I answer: Yes, it is true
I have seen/ the gunman kill and go free to kill again, (line 8 9). Not only did
Sandburg write this line to give an example of one of the things people call his city
but he is also saying yes I have seen it happen, Chicago can be dangerous. Despite
what people say about his city he still describes it as proud. Sandburg sneers, Come
and show me another city with lifted head singing so proud to be/ alive and coarse
and strong and cunning, (14 15). Sandburg defends his city while some people think
it is cruel and harsh he describes Chicago as proud of those characteristics. Sandburg
portrays Chicago as wicked, crooked, and brutal, but takes pride in living in a city
that is so tough.
Sandburg uses personification to describe Chicago as an actual living person. The
author characterizes Chicago as various types of workers.
How Lte Is A Business
How LTE is Revolutionising Business Collaboration in an IoT World These days,
businesses are experiencing more competition that ever before thanks to the rise of
ecommerce, the world is becoming a much smaller place. Now, businesses have to
try harder than ever to appeal to the customer and vie for their attention. To remain
top of mind, or at least relevant, to the customer, businesses must develpp a
competitive edge in businesses operations, including using the latest technology
tools at ones disposal. Fortunately, several technology trends have emerged in the
past few years that, if leveraged correctly, can propel businesses forward into the
new age, in a big way. The introduction and increase of LTE infrastructure across the
world has been integral to the increase in technological tools for business growth
and empowerment. Offering wide range and high powered connectivity, LTE
facilitates the exponential growth of connected devices. Regardless of their industry,
businesses can take advantage of the IoT in order to capture a larger market. IoT has
been a hot topic in recent times as it allows virtually endless opportunities and
connection to take place, many of which we can t even begin to fully comprehend. So
it makes sense that businesses try and use these great technological advancements to
their advantage. Consumers today are connected 24/7 via their wireless devices, and

Human Pollination On Bees
Are we obligated to protect and secure the future of the bees? Humankind tends to
take for granted where our food comes from and do not think twice about it, let
alone the process of pollination. The manner in which we regard the bees not only
has an effect on us but, it also affects a multitude of species. However, we are able
to do our part to lessen our negative impact on the bees. If educating humankind
would alleviate suffering of many species such as bees, we would then be
obligated to save the them. Bees are some of the most feared insects on the planet
but aside from their sting they are quite a complex and beneficial creature. There
are over 20,000 species of bees on the planet (Spivak,2013). They are often
associated with honey however, they play a far more important role, they pollinate.
Bees are responsible for about 80 percent of pollination worldwide and a single
colony is able to pollinate upwards of 300 million flowers each day
(Greenpeace.org). Although there are ways for human pollination it is often a
painstaking and time consuming process. Studies have also shown that human
pollination is not as effective (Spivak, 2013)). With 90 percent of the worlds
nutrition dependent upon bees we need to support the bees with pollination
(Greenpeace.org). If we want to continue enjoying the many foods bees provide for

Attractiveness Theory Of Swearing In The Workplace
SWEARING IN THE WORKPLACE: HOW DO POLITENESS THEORY AND
EXPECTANCY VIOLATION THEORY RELATE TO THIS ISSUE?
Almost all the Adults around the world have their place of work, whether they like
it or not. Though, people will have someone they enjoy working with and someone
they do not enjoy working with, especially their bosses and managers. Moreover,
this situation makes some people are swearing in the workplace because they are
stressing with someone or something such as they are confusing in some work, make
a mistake in an important meeting and their boss or manager is not respectable to
them. Therefore, it is not a positive thing for people to swear at another person
because swearing is not a respectful behaviour. As a result, politeness theoryand
expectancy violation theory argued that swearing is not the decisive actions when
people are socialising with another people because people can hurt another people by
using attacking language (Daiton Zelly, 2015; Dainton Zelley, 2015). Furthermore,
People also need to manage their mood while they are working in their workplace
and avoiding swear to someone.
Swearing is an issue in medical and education because people always say the swear
words when they are angry, stress and surprised. However, some of the swear words
based on the gender rules (Stone, McMillan, Hazelton, 2015). Therefore, in
Politeness Theory, swearing is a negative face when people are chatting with another
person because swear words are not the words that

Entering into the world of Sleep Paralysis
Many people suffer from sleep paralysis, yet don t know what this disorder is and the
effects it has on people. People who have had suffered from this disorder don t
know when to expect it or even see it coming. In this essay, I m going to talk about
what sleep paralysis is, what the causes are, the symptoms and risks, the prevention
of sleep paralysis, and a real life story of someone and what they experienced through
this disorder.
To start off, sleep paralysis is known as a sleep disorder that s causes temporary

buzzing, smells of rotting death and even more. The last one I want to bring up is
the supine position. This is when you sleep on your back and this is where most
attacks occur yet studies have showed many people don t fall asleep on their backs.
Next I will talk about the prevention is sleep paralysis. With this disorder, there isn t
a medical solution. Medicine isn t able to cure these episodes but there are ways
for you to help prevent them yourself. One way you can help prevent them is found
on www. mentalhealthdaily.com, stating that if you avoid laying on your back or
even if you do, prop your head up with a pillow so you re not completely flat.
Another one is to minimize any sleep disruptions. Make sure that you turn phones
off, don t sleep with the television on, and/or if you have pets, make sure it s an
urgent situation to get up and care for them. The last one is being able to relax. You
don t want to force yourself because this will cause panic attacks. To end this essay, I

have already been damaged beyond repair, and if we continue with business as

According to threats to coral reef, the text states Sometimes poisons like cyanide
are dumped into the water to stun fish and make them easier to capture. Sadly,
fishing with cyanide often kills fish, corals, and other forms of wildlife, while
degrading the reef habitat itself. This shows that advertising commercials will help
to notify and encourage people to be more aware and responsible. By doing this we

Christopher Columbus Religion
500 years ago, Spain was a nation gripped by fear and superstition, ruled by the
crown and a ruthless inquisition that persecuted men for daring to dream. One
man challenged this power. Driven by his sense of destiny, he crossed the sea of
darkness in search of honor, gold, and the greater glory of God (1492: Conquest of
Paradise). Overall, 1492: Conquest of Paradise was a good movie. It demonstrated
the highs and lows of Christopher Columbus s voyage and what happened once he
founded the New World. This movie allows the audience to understand the horrible
conditions, agony, and social standards of the time. Similar to the statements made in

but they called it the New World. Once they arrived on the island Columbus came
across a group called Tainos. They showed Columbus their gold and even permitted
him to take some back to reveal to the Queen. Once he returned to Spain, the findings
of the New World allowed him to set sail on another expedition. When he gets back
to the New World, Columbus and his followers start forming the City of La

Role of Minorities in the Canadian Armed Forces
With the belief that they were superior in patriotism, many people alienated
minorities during World War II. In terms of the military ranking and task, many
minorities were restricted. Many Chinese Canadians were not accepted into the air
force or navy. The Japanese Canadians were considered enemies and were subjected
to many hate crimes during the given time. They were also often turned down when
applying for a position in the Canadian armed forces, and deemed unfit. This was
highly based on a perspective of generalization and prejudice. Additionally, racism

This policy was abolished later on in the war. Additionally the government, as well
as the military made it very difficult for racial minorities to ascend the ranks in the
army. A lesser portion of the Chinese immigrants did not want to join the armed
forces because they believed they had been treated unfairly. When World War II
started, the head tax on Chinese immigrants had not yet been abolished. The Chinese
people were discriminated against and were forced to pay to immigrate to Canada
because of their ethnicity. It can be argued that this policy s purpose was to
discourage Chinese people from settling in Canada. The British Columbian and
Saskatchewan government both disagreed with idea of enlisting Chinese Canadians
in the army. They thought that after war, the Chinese Canadians would demand the
right to vote. Although many Chinese Canadians, were opposed to fighting for
Canada because of the discrimination that they faced (head tax), many youth still
enlisted because they wanted to show their loyalty to their country. After Japan
entered the war, the british began accepting Chinese Canadians to fight. They fought
behind Japanese lines in China, Sarawak, Malaya. Although approximately 600
Chinese Canadians had served by the end of World War II, the contributions of many
of these men went unnoticed. One such man was George Chow, who was accepted

(Sacrifice), and as you read along I will show you exactly what I mean by it.
The meaning I get from the word Forfeit is Loses, a Penalty, and being deprived of
something. Forfeit is such a major second hand word to Sacrifice and the reason
forfeiting is so major, is because majority of the time you re losing something of
significant value. A great story of someone having to forfeit something for a
greater cause is Everett Alvarez Jr. Alvarez Jr is a former U.S Navy Commander
who endured one of the longest periods as a prisoner of war (P.O.W) in American
military history. Alvarez was the first U.S pilot to be downed and detained during the
Vietnam War and spent over eight years in captivity; making him the second... Show

The life of people who were detained in Germany s concentration camps are the
only respectable story to talk about when it comes to suffering. From as early as
early as 1934, concentration camp commandants used prisoners as forced laborers
for SS construction projects such as the construction or expansion of the camps
themselves. By 1938, SS leaders envisioned using the supply of forced laborers
incarcerated in the camps for a variety of SS commissioned construction projects

Service Academy Application Research Paper
My want to attend a service academy came as a surprise to no one. Both of my
parents served in the military and in a traditional kid fashion I wanted to be just like
them. But the last thing my parents wanted was for me to enlist. They always told
me I was too smart to not get a college education and to enter the militaryas an officer.
I chose the Navy as my first choice after listening to my stepfather s stories about
his time on a fast attack submarine. Now I was set on this path to hopefully one day
become a Midshipman and Naval Officer at probably around the age of eight or
nine. As I grew up and matured in my academic interests I found that my best
subjects as well as those I shared the most interest in were those containing math and

THE ERRORS ANALYSIS OF USING THE PREPOSITION
MADE BY ENGLISH DEPARTEMENT S STUDENTS
ACADEMIC YEAR 2009/2010
A. Background
Preposition is one of function words in English. It had introduced from elementary
school till university, one way to introduced and learned the preposition is by asking
students to make a writing paper. Sekolah Tinggi keguruan dan Ilmu pendidikan
(STKIP) PGRI Banjarmasin have many programs to increase their students writing
ability. STKIP has two programs that can make their students ability in writing better
and better. The programs are structure and writing.

Preposition includes to kinds of function words which means a word that doesn t
belong to one of the four major parts of speech in English (noun, verb, adjective,
adverb). Their purpose is not only to express meaning but to relate other words to
each other (Hornby, 1975:7).
Prepositions are words normally placed before nouns or pronouns and can also be
followed by verbs but, except after but and except, the verb must be in the gerund
form (Thomson, 1986: 91)
A preposition is a words that links a noun or a noun equivalent (e.g. a pronoun or a
gerund) to another word by expressing such relationships as location, direction, time,
or purpose. (Longman,...............).
Preposition are always followed by nouns (or pronouns). They are connective words
that show the relationship between the nouns following them and one of the basic
sentence elements: subject, verb, object, or complement. They usually indicate
relationship such as position, place, direction, time manner, agent, possession, and
condition, between their objects and other parts of the sentence. Prepositional phrases
usually provide international asked for by the question words who, what, where,
when, why, how, and how long. The noun or pronoun following the preposition is it s
object. A pronoun used in this position is always an object pronoun: me, you, him,
her, it, us, and them. The preposition plus its object is called the preposition phrase.

Gender Stereotypes In The Song Straight Outta Vagina
Songs have been portraying society as far back in history as we can research. A
song that exemplifies society in a positive way is the song Straight Outta Vagina
by Pussy Riot on the album XXX. This song portrays women as strong and
independent, it also outlines some of the amazing things women have done
throughout history. This is shown though the imagery of women portrayed as
vaginas. Throughout the song, there are many examples of how Pussy Riot defies
gender stereotypes, fights gender norms, exemplifies gender performance, power,
and violence. Gender stereotypes are prevalent in all forms of media; Pussy Riot
is working against this idea. A verse that specifically defies gender stereotypes is in
the second verse. Vaginas gonna win the race, vagina gonna play in space (Pussy
Riot). Athleticism and space exploration is seen as more masculine in society. It is
also stereotyped because you might stereotype women as uninterested in sports.
This stereotype could keep you from noticing that many women engage in sports
(_____ 107). This is the point that Pussy Riot is pointing out. They are showing
that women win races too and women are interesting in space exploration despite
these stereotypes. A second lyric that defies these stereotypes is it goes to work, it
makes the beats, it s CEO, no rookie, from senator to bookie (Pussy Riot). These
types of jobs are stereotypically seen as masculine jobs. In the article The
Inarticulate Gender Bending Performance of Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah
Palin , Denise Oles points out that women still struggle to overcome stereotypical
notions regarding their ability to be strong leaders (Oles 353). This stereotype is
shown throughout history when you look at women s employment in leadership
positions and the way we as a society communicate with this notion. Pussy Riot is
saying that women are in these positions and they are represented in more than just
bookie jobs. Pussy Riot is known for producing songs that defy gender and sexual
norms, and this song, Straight Outta Vagina , is no exception. The language in the
song is the first gender norm that Pussy Riot is defying. The words vagina , pussy ,
and va jay jay , are not used in the common language because
Similarities Between Gnostic And The Doctrine Of The Bible
Like many of Basilides Gnostic contemporaries, he too rejected the Orthodox
doctrine of the carnal resurrection and that the spirit was only worthy of salvation
while the flesh was worthless. Many church fathers used the Gnostic stance on the
resurrection as proof that Basilides was a libertine but judging from the evidence
provided by our favorite heresy hunters, he very much was a strict ascetic, which
disproves their own assertions. Despite Basilides being an ascetic, we do know
that he did have a son as a successor, being Isidore (as stated earlier). It should be
noted that Abraxax is actually the more official spelling of this contradictory but
powerful deity. This name doesn t have a meaning in the traditional sense. It has
more of a mystical meaning. The seven letters that make up the name are meant to
represent the seven planets known in antiquity: the Sun, the Moon, Mercury,
Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Abraxas (pronounced ah BRAKS us ) is a
Gnostic name that appears in many ancient texts. Abraxas is a complicated figure
whose image has changed with the passing of time. A lot of what we know about
him was recorded through the filter of Christian heresy hunters who, as we all
know, were not always right. But as far as we can tell, originally he is the head of
365 other spiritual beings of Gnostic lore. He was oftentimes depicted as a half man
/half basilisk creature conceived as a god or a daimone, which we know because of
all the ancient amulets with

Roles of Government Agencies in the food Manufacturing by the
Small scale farmers:
Food is needed by our body to develop, repair body tissue, cells to produce energy
for day to day activities. Food is made up of vital supplements that body needed in
adequate quantities. Micronutrient such as minerals and vitamins are needed in small
quantities. Macronutrients such as carbohydrates, fat and protein are required in
large amount. The United States Department of Agriculture has been said to have
compromised their values in the food service sector. The Body cannot properly
perform its functions if any of these are missing or substituted for. A huge effort has

The regulation imposed on the small scale farmer favors the large scale farmer who
could afford the terms. Efforts are not made on the genetically modified species. The
slaughter house and the beef industries in the large firms have abandoned the
rudiment and ethics in food processing and management. They were concerns with
the profit margins they could realize in short time. Large fund were pumped into
the project, unskilled laborers were employed to handle food. Science based
fertilizer and cloning were the order of the day people. Expansion in the
production chain brings a lot of compromise to quality and standard of the product.
The use of conservative on products has caused more harm. There are more cases
of obesity and chronic diseases. The Fresh milk was substituted with stepped down
pasteurized milk. It is good to get rid of the dangerous germ, but pasteurization does
more harm when exposed to high temperature. Most of the individual who uses
fresh milk were not considered. There are great numbers of cases where local
farmers were kept hostage for 6 7 hours with restriction to movement and pointing of
gun at them like a criminal. When approached about the seizure and arrest they were
not able to provide good evidences and in so many times their word contradict each
others. Government spent so much
Online Tutorials Related On Network Administration
Topics...
Introduction This assignment asks us to evaluate online tutorials related to network
administration topics. In this case, we are to evaluate the www.e tutes.com online
tutorial, covering networking basics. Our evaluation should include a brief discussion
of what the tutorial teaches, significant technical terms learned, areas for
improvement, and our experience using the tutorial. The www.e tutes.com
networking basics tutorial teaches the history of networking, starting with the
invention of the telegraph, and takes us through to the current communication
environment of the internet. In addition, the tutorial teaches us the basics of what
defines a network, the components required for a network, and the different types of
topologies of networks. Furthermore, there are eight sections, which go into more
detail on all of these areas, including different cabling and transmission protocols.
This tutorial is very good at providing some significant technical terms used in the
networking industry. The following will provide a brief description of the terms I
feel are of most importance. LAN local area network: This term describes all of the
components of a network that communicate with one another, such as a printer,
computer, fax, server. All of the network components must meet design protocols and
standards in order to communicate with each other. Every component connected to
the network, must be equipped with a network interface card (NIC) for the
transmission media to
Robustness in HDFS
Robustness in HDFS The primary objective of HDFS is to store data reliably in
the case of system failures or crashes. Three common type of failure occurrences
are: o DataNode failure o NameNode failure o Network Partition The above
diagram depicts that each DataNode, which sends a Heartbeat message to the
NameNode periodically. A subset of DataNodes can lose connectivity with the
NameNode which is caused by a network partition. The DataNodes without recent
Heartbeats are marked as dead by the NameNodes. The NameNodes does not
forward any new IO requests to the marked DataNodes. Data which was registered
on the dead DataNode is not available to HDFS. DataNode death or shut down can
cause the replication factor of some blocks to fall below their specified value. The
NameNode constantly tracks the blocks which need to be replicated and initiates
replication whenever it is essential. The requirement of re replication may arise in
case of : o A replica becomes corrupted. o A DataNode is no longer available. o
Replication factor of a file is increased beyond the limits. o A hard disk on a
DataNode has failed or crashed. Cluster rebalancing The HDFS architecture
provides compatibility for data rebalancing schemes. Provision is provided that data
might be automatically moved from one DataNode to another if the free space on a
DataNode falls below a certain threshold. In a particular situation where there is a
Gaining Position Power In The Military
In a military we obtain position power that comes with the rank and the position
you are presently serving. The best way to acquire the position power is by
performing your general and specific responsibilities per your rank. For example, in
the Air Force if you are a Staff Sergeant your primary duty is to be the higher skill
technician that will be responsible of training and for his subordinates. If your
subordinates don t do their training by the first week of the month than the Staff
Sergeantcan make them work the weekend to finish their training while working 12
hour shift. The Technical Sergeants are the technical expertise that will advise the
Production super intendent as well as the expediter when the subordinates cannot
repair the

Essay Death

  • 1. Essay Death Crafting an essay on the subject of death is an inherently challenging task. The complexity lies not only in the sensitivity of the topic but also in the profound and diverse perspectives that surround it. Addressing death necessitates a delicate balance between introspection and objective analysis, as well as the ability to navigate the intricate emotions and beliefs associated with the concept. One of the primary difficulties is the personal nature of death. It's an inevitable part of the human experience, and individuals approach it with varying degrees of acceptance, fear, or philosophical contemplation. Capturing the essence of such a universally significant but profoundly individual phenomenon requires a nuanced understanding of human psychology and an ability to communicate empathetically. Furthermore, the diversity of cultural, religious, and philosophical perspectives on death adds another layer of complexity. The essay must navigate the delicate terrain of respecting differing beliefs while providing a comprehensive exploration of the subject. It demands extensive research to encompass a broad spectrum of viewpoints and to present an inclusive and unbiased perspective. The emotional weight associated with death can also make it challenging to maintain objectivity. The writer must skillfully balance the intellectual aspects of the topic with the emotional impact it has on individuals and societies. Striking this balance requires a keen awareness of the potential impact of words and a thoughtful consideration of the essay's tone. Additionally, addressing the existential questions surrounding death requires a philosophical depth that challenges the writer's ability to articulate complex ideas coherently. Tackling questions about the meaning of life, the afterlife, or the absence thereof demands a profound engagement with existential philosophy, theology, and metaphysics. In conclusion, writing an essay on death is a formidable undertaking that requires a writer to navigate the intricacies of human experience, cultural diversity, and existential philosophy. It demands a delicate balance between empathy and objectivity, as well as a commitment to exploring a topic that touches the core of what it means to be human. For those seeking assistance in handling such intricate topics, various resources are available. Baird arrived a week earlier to the exhibit and conducted puppetry workshops at the museums Summer Arts Festival. At the end of the second expansion in 1979 Baird and a few of his company members
  • 3. Analysis Of The Film The Flies By F. Scott Fitzgerald Artistically speaking, this film is beautiful. There was a lot of thought put into every detail from the actors to the camera shots. The film seems to flow in beautiful manner from one scene to the next. One piece of art in the film is the use of symbols. Each symbol is delicately placed in order to make sense to any viewers that can pick up on them. One symbol is Nick s obsession with his Peace Lily. It represents his obsession with the job. It is the only other thing he cares for because its needs are simple and by the books. When he breaks it, it is supposed to symbolize his change of heart; that somebody has taken the place of the lily. Another symbol in the filmis the number 3. There are 3 murders that take place before people believe Nicholas. There are 3 people Nick tries to talk to in order to get out of being sent to Sanford. Many lines are repeated 3 times over. This could be in reference to fairytales always using the number 3, since this plot seems far fetched like a fairytale. However, it could also be in reference to the trilogy of films that Wright and Pegg made together. Then, there is the swan symbol. Swans typically symbolize grace, beauty, and peace. In the film, though, the swans symbolize an overbearing distraction. Nicholas is constantly surrounded by them in the hotel he stays at, which is rightly called The Swan Hotel . He is also charged with the task of catching an escaped swan. This causes him to miss many chances to catch the perpetrators of

Olympics Of 1932 Research Paper On February 4th, 1932, the third winters Olympics were held, but it was the first time it happened in United States. 1932 was a time of great depression, not the best of times, but despite economic crisis, Lake Placid, New York, embraced the games. They did not gain monetarily, but the games were so publicized, that popularity for the Olympic Gamesincreased immensely from it. The Olympics come as far as 776 BC, from the ancient Greece, but the first official winter games were held in 1924 in Chamonix France. The sole purpose was to bring the world together in a peaceful matter, but it was also to celebrate the strongest athletes. The Olympics have carried the torch every four years ever since, and today over 90 countries participate. On February 4th 1932, Paul Jones, a 17 year old boy scout participated in the festivities of the Olympics; he did not think anything of it, and never thought to mention it to his own children, until his fifty years old son discovered a picture in a museum with his father at the 1932 games. No one would have anticipated the enormous phenomenon that would become of the Olympics. Even at times of turmoil, it brought solidarity, and also friendly competition between alias and even adversaries. 17 countries including United States participated in Lake Placid Games; 84 years later, Nations involve in the games have literally quadrupled. Most of the cars are purchased using a loan, hence that if the interest rate goes up; a decline in sales is to follow as taking a loan becomes less attractive (ONS, 2009). One prospective forecast though, is that the interest rate is expected to remain around 0.5% until recovery is commencing although the oil prices are rocking sky high which makes it more expensive to both produce and use the car (ONS, 2009).In 2008, the unemployment rate was 5.7% of the economically active population and has increased to 7.9% between past May to July which indicates that there are more people available at higher qualifications to do the job, but at the same time, production levels in the UK are cut (HRM Guide, 2009). This fall in car manufacturing can also be traced back to the steel producing firm Corus who announced to cut 3,500 jobs of which 2,500 in the UK at the beginning of this year. The differences between these two cities are very imprecise. Both have several differences in terms of population, transport and climate. As for the population, New York is the most populated city in the United States, with an estimated population in 2005 of 8 213 839.87 This is about 40% of the total population of the state and a similar percentage of the total of its metropolitan region . During the last decade, the population of the city has been growing, and demographers estimate that by 2030 it will reach a total of between 9.2 and 9.5 million inhabitants. In deference to the city of New York, Miami is the forty second most populous city in the United States. The metropolitan area of Miami, which includes the counties of Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beach, has a combined population of more than 5.4 million inhabitants, being the fourth largest in the country (behind Chicago) and the largest in the southeast of the United States.30 In 2008, the United Nations estimated that the urban ... Abstract: In the reference paper, an effective and economical approach for extracting depth information and recovering sharp image is provided. Mainly, a new deconvolution method, sparse prior provides more accurate deconvolution results and improves depth discrimination; so, both image information and depth information can be recovered from the modified photograph taken by the camera using coded aperture. In my paper, two optimizations for the deconvolution will be provided by using regular iterative least square method (RILS) and iterative reweighted least square method (IRLS). By using the optimization deconvolution algorithms, we can recover the original image with more acceptable recovered image. The runtime for the original ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Background: In the reference paper, a photo taken by camera follows: y=f*x+n пј€2 пј‰ where f is a scaled version of the aperture, the n is noise, the x is the real sharp image and the y is the received photo. Accordingly, if f is already known (how to design f is discussed in the reference paper), people needs to deconvolve y to recover x. There are several deconvolution algorithms currently, including Richardson Lucy deconvolution algorithm. In this work, a new deconvolution strategy, the sparse prior , is proposed. Assume that the derivatives of the unobserved real x follows a zero mean Gaussian distribution, so it follows: P(x)в€ ќв€ Џ_(i,j)в–’e^( 0.5О±((x(i,j) x(i+1,j))^2+(x(i,j) x(i,j+1))^2)) (3) Consider (x(i,j) x(i+1,j))^2 and (x(i,j) x(i,j+1))^2 are the convolution between gx = [1, 1] and x, gy = [1, 1] T and x, respectively. Accordingly, the P(x) can be expressed as: P(x)в€ ќN(0,О± (CgxTCgx+ CgyTCgy) 1) (4) where a should be a constant that is selected by human, Cgx and Cgy are the convolution matrix for gx and gy, respectively. Assume n ~ N(0, О·2I), the resulted photo y can be expressed as: P(y)в€ ќN(0, CfTО± (CgxTCgx+ CgyTCgy) 1Cf+ О·2I) (5) Under this statistical model, the deconvolution problem can be

We are very close to one another, and she has been with my dad since I was 4. I would consider her my mom not my step mom. Since she lives 4 hours away, I was unable to meet with her in person for the interview so a phone call was necessary. She s a very outgoing person, who is great at making conversation and telling stories. Even though it would have been more ideal to meet in person to conduct the interview, the phone call still felt natural and helpful. A few times over the course of the interview it was hard to hear what she had said. I did not want to interrupt her, so I missed a few details. Overall, it went very well, and it lasted the perfect amount of time. Since I am her daughter and already know key characteristics about her life, she felt comfortable sharing with me. Even when talking about her ex husband, she did not hold back. To begin, Christine Howell was born January 12th 1958 in Williamsport, PA. In his travel to the New World, Candide and Cacambo meet a slave, who is missing his left and right hand (51) lying down half naked on the ground. The slave tells Candide about the terrible living condition and cruel punishment that he received and that his parents sold him for ten Patagonian crowns (51) to slave trader. Ironically, the slave says, it s normal (51) for them to get this kind of treatment because it was common back then. And, the Dutch sorcerers, who converted him, tell him we are all children of Adam, white and black (51). Voltaireused his satirical attack on society and religious of what really happen at the time. This event causes Candide to question himself of his belief, since El Dorado is totally different from Surinam, where Candide meets the slave. Everyone in El Dorado is equal even the King. The custom of El Dorado is to embrace the King and kiss on both cheeks (48), no bow are required, which is not possible in the real life. Candide s belief, the world is perfect, starts to fade away. From what he sees, Candide weeps and starts to lost hope in Pangloss s theory: everything being made for an end, everything is necessarily for the best end and
  • 12. Puritan Ideology In Early America Puritan ideology had a profound effect upon early America. This obviously led to the Puritans having a dramatic effect on the literature The whole life of a Puritan was dedicated to God, as He was the only one who could offer salvation from eternal damnation. One of his sermons, A Model of Christian Charity espouses central Puritan ideals. As stated before the Puritans believed in a strict moral code in order to gain God s grace. One means of living up to this code was helping those who were less fortunate. Winthrop not only recommended charity towards others but stated it was a Christian duty saying, When there is no other means by whereby our Christian brother may be relieved in his distress, we must help him beyond our ability (208). In other words, he believed that as Christians the people should go through drastic measures in order to help his common man. This lends itself to Puritan ideals, as he personally believed this was a way of completing one s covenant with God and later suggested that if all Christians can strive to practice the morals expressed in the Bible that they could perhaps create a utopian community as a safe haven for all including the Native Americans. This in particular was important at the time as the writings of Winthrop can perhaps be attributed to improving relationships between the colonist and their neighbors in the new

The test set forth in Mathews establishes the requirements for determining if a fishing license should be revoked. When applying this test you see that 1. • 14. Definition Of Quality And Customer Retention My Article discussed why it necessary to have a clears definition of quality and what customer satisfaction is .The first point that this article makes is summed exactly by the first line of the abstract that, No consensus has been reached on a definition for quality; the term is defined differently for products and services, for different industries, and for different levels of dimensionality (Wick, Rothelin, 2009, p.1) This study investigates the major definitions of quality and the antecedents of customer retention to establish a foundation for a new definitionof quality based on satisfaction. Quality is defined as the summation of the effective evaluations by each customer of each attitude object that creates customer satisfaction. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For a company to utilize quality management, effectively it has to get a clearly defined meaning of it to be active. A great struggle is overcoming conventional wisdom regarding quality. Managers and others alike seem to be embedded that quality means goodness; that error is inevitable; and that people don t give a damn about doing good work. From what I Quality is a free component that can be used with no expense to an operation or product. Using quality management in a company is a way of ensuring that activities will go right the first time, and the way they are planned. Our world in business now is so complicated; quality management is needed. For a company nowadays to not have some type of control for the standards of the company should be considered solecism. To find your standards of quality, all the right steps have to be measured correctly. Measurement becomes a matter of defining expectations. A problem that companies run into is they have difficulty measuring important aspects of their progress. I believe that organization is the key to observing progress accurately. Another main point I took from the article was that as the economy expands, customers nowadays have more choices for where they get their services and products. Businesses should have adequate models in place to satisfying customers needs to keep retention. Customers have so many options that can quickly turn them away from their
  • 15. Wage Discrimination And The Gender Wage Gap Wage Discrimination and the Gender Wage Gap They say, We ve come a long way baby! They are both correct and incorrect at the same time. While it is true that women have come a long way from June Cleaver and the typical 50 s housewife to the modern two parent working household, statistically, it would take women approximately one extra day of work per week to earn the same as their male counterpart. So, while women have begun to work in higher paying professional and managerial jobs that before were typically held by men; they are paid less. This is genderdiscriminationand is commonly known as the Gender Wage Gap. There are many arguments as to why there is a wage gap between men and women; there are those who argue that women are taking lower paying jobs, so they can attend to the needs of their families. Others argue that women are purposely choosing fields that pay less. One thing is clear, though: a gender wage gap exists, and if steps are not taken to remedy this situation, women may never see equal pay for equal work. To understand the Gender Wage Gap, we need to review the history of the working woman; how and why they began to enter the workforce. Before World War II women generally only worked outside of the home until they were married. In the 1940s, there was an increase of married women into the workforce due to a wartime economy (Goldin). Women entered the workforce at that time for many reasons; patriotic duty, a husband s tour of duty

Lovers From The Lais Of Marie De France As A Children s Book Kerstin Oxford HP 1020: Paper 3 Chevrefoil Adapted Imagine a story of lovers from The Lais of Marie de France as a children s book. It would show the events true love can overcome, and inevitably end in a happy ending. The stories would have to be adapted in such a way to where all the details were appropriate for a child. It must be wrote to where the story would not be over their head, so they could fully understand the story. My adaption of Chevrefoil from The Lais of Marie de France into a children s book would essentially fall into the same category as the stories about love between a prince and a princess. Children love the type of stories where two people fall in love and are able to be together. Since the original Lai is fairly short it would allow most of the details to be included, without running a story that s too long for a child s attention span. The book would be appropriately illustrated, filling it with entertaining pictures that children would love. The adaption would be called Love and Honeysuckles, as it s short and catchy, and honeysuckles is a word that children may think is silly especially combined with love, which would have them somewhat intrigued before starting the book. Children when inclined learn many lessons from the books they read. A lot of older literature is already referenced in children books today; this is where a lot of us have gained a basic knowledge of history or previous literature. This adaption is needed for just this

William Blake was influenced by many great thinkers of his day, and was well aware of the conflicts that were arising between science and the arts in his era. In his work, he makes sure to define reason and explain how it differs from passions. He even assigned personalities to represent the conflicts and characteristics of these definitions in his poetry and art. There have been many men who loved to speculate the future. William Blake was one of these men, and if he spoke incoherently and obscurely, it was because what he spoke had never been discovered before. Its ultimate goal is to control the world and to build one big society full of Illuminists. (Grant, Pg 507) These two famous books of poetry written by William Blake, not only show men s emotions and feelings, but explain within themselves, the child s innocence, and man s experience. And I made a rural pen, And I stain d the water clear, And I wrote my happy songs, Every child may joy to hear. Clear suggests innocent and to stain clear water is symbolically to corrupt innocence, water being as clear and fluid as the air or cloud which are home to the child. Yet stain d in one context may have moral connotations, while in another it may not. For instance, in church, one is not troubled by the thought of stained glass windows? This is one example of Blake s ambiguities. Blake is filled with secondary and tertiary counter meanings that lurk like quicksand or trapdoors underfoot, and an innocent reader of Blake must learn from experience to tread tiptoe through the primary level (which turns out not to be primary after all) and to leap and dance along all the others. • 40. Service Academy Application Research Paper My want to attend a service academy came as a surprise to no one. Both of my parents served in the military and in a traditional kid fashion I wanted to be just like them. But the last thing my parents wanted was for me to enlist. They always told me I was too smart to not get a college education and to enter the militaryas an officer. I chose the Navy as my first choice after listening to my stepfather s stories about his time on a fast attack submarine. Now I was set on this path to hopefully one day become a Midshipman and Naval Officer at probably around the age of eight or nine. As I grew up and matured in my academic interests I found that my best subjects as well as those I shared the most interest in were those containing math and

(Quirk,1973:6.1) Preposition includes to kinds of function words which means a word that doesn t belong to one of the four major parts of speech in English (noun, verb, adjective, adverb). Their purpose is not only to express meaning but to relate other words to each other (Hornby, 1975:7). Prepositions are words normally placed before nouns or pronouns and can also be followed by verbs but, except after but and except, the verb must be in the gerund form (Thomson, 1986: 91) A preposition is a words that links a noun or a noun equivalent (e.g. a pronoun or a gerund) to another word by expressing such relationships as location, direction, time, or purpose. (Longman,...............). Preposition are always followed by nouns (or pronouns). They are connective words that show the relationship between the nouns following them and one of the basic sentence elements: subject, verb, object, or complement. They usually indicate relationship such as position, place, direction, time manner, agent, possession, and condition, between their objects and other parts of the sentence. Prepositional phrases usually provide international asked for by the question words who, what, where, when, why, how, and how long. The noun or pronoun following the preposition is it s object. • 42. Gender Stereotypes In The Song Straight Outta Vagina Songs have been portraying society as far back in history as we can research. A song that exemplifies society in a positive way is the song Straight Outta Vagina by Pussy Riot on the album XXX. This song portrays women as strong and independent, it also outlines some of the amazing things women have done throughout history. This is shown though the imagery of women portrayed as vaginas. Throughout the song, there are many examples of how Pussy Riot defies gender stereotypes, fights gender norms, exemplifies gender performance, power, and violence. Gender stereotypes are prevalent in all forms of media; Pussy Riot is working against this idea. A verse that specifically defies gender stereotypes is in the second verse. Vaginas gonna win the race, vagina gonna play in space (Pussy Riot). Athleticism and space exploration is seen as more masculine in society. It is also stereotyped because you might stereotype women as uninterested in sports. This stereotype could keep you from noticing that many women engage in sports (_____ 107). This is the point that Pussy Riot is pointing out. They are showing that women win races too and women are interesting in space exploration despite these stereotypes. A second lyric that defies these stereotypes is it goes to work, it makes the beats, it s CEO, no rookie, from senator to bookie (Pussy Riot). These types of jobs are stereotypically seen as masculine jobs. In the article The Inarticulate Gender Bending Performance of Vice Presidential Nominee Sarah Palin , Denise Oles points out that women still struggle to overcome stereotypical notions regarding their ability to be strong leaders (Oles 353). This stereotype is shown throughout history when you look at women s employment in leadership positions and the way we as a society communicate with this notion. Pussy Riot is saying that women are in these positions and they are represented in more than just bookie jobs. Pussy Riot is known for producing songs that defy gender and sexual norms, and this song, Straight Outta Vagina , is no exception. The language in the song is the first gender norm that Pussy Riot is defying. The words vagina , pussy , and va jay jay , are not used in the common language because
  • 43. Similarities Between Gnostic And The Doctrine Of The Bible Like many of Basilides Gnostic contemporaries, he too rejected the Orthodox doctrine of the carnal resurrection and that the spirit was only worthy of salvation while the flesh was worthless. Many church fathers used the Gnostic stance on the resurrection as proof that Basilides was a libertine but judging from the evidence provided by our favorite heresy hunters, he very much was a strict ascetic, which disproves their own assertions. Despite Basilides being an ascetic, we do know that he did have a son as a successor, being Isidore (as stated earlier). It should be noted that Abraxax is actually the more official spelling of this contradictory but powerful deity. This name doesn t have a meaning in the traditional sense. It has more of a mystical meaning. The seven letters that make up the name are meant to represent the seven planets known in antiquity: the Sun, the Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Abraxas (pronounced ah BRAKS us ) is a Gnostic name that appears in many ancient texts. Abraxas is a complicated figure whose image has changed with the passing of time. A lot of what we know about him was recorded through the filter of Christian heresy hunters who, as we all know, were not always right. But as far as we can tell, originally he is the head of 365 other spiritual beings of Gnostic lore. He was oftentimes depicted as a half man /half basilisk creature conceived as a god or a daimone, which we know because of all the ancient amulets with

Kolawole Ojo Professor Christopher Carney English 1301 July 22, 2015 Roles of Government Agencies in the food Manufacturing by the Small scale farmers: Food is needed by our body to develop, repair body tissue, cells to produce energy for day to day activities. Food is made up of vital supplements that body needed in adequate quantities. Micronutrient such as minerals and vitamins are needed in small quantities. Macronutrients such as carbohydrates, fat and protein are required in large amount. The United States Department of Agriculture has been said to have compromised their values in the food service sector. The regulation imposed on the small scale farmer favors the large scale farmer who could afford the terms. Efforts are not made on the genetically modified species. The slaughter house and the beef industries in the large firms have abandoned the rudiment and ethics in food processing and management. They were concerns with the profit margins they could realize in short time. Large fund were pumped into the project, unskilled laborers were employed to handle food. Science based fertilizer and cloning were the order of the day people. Expansion in the production chain brings a lot of compromise to quality and standard of the product. The use of conservative on products has caused more harm. There are more cases of obesity and chronic diseases. The Fresh milk was substituted with stepped down pasteurized milk. It is good to get rid of the dangerous germ, but pasteurization does more harm when exposed to high temperature. Most of the individual who uses fresh milk were not considered. There are great numbers of cases where local farmers were kept hostage for 6 7 hours with restriction to movement and pointing of gun at them like a criminal. When approached about the seizure and arrest they were not able to provide good evidences and in so many times their word contradict each others. Government spent so much
  • 45. Online Tutorials Related On Network Administration Topics... Introduction This assignment asks us to evaluate online tutorials related to network administration topics. In this case, we are to evaluate the www.e tutes.com online tutorial, covering networking basics. Our evaluation should include a brief discussion of what the tutorial teaches, significant technical terms learned, areas for improvement, and our experience using the tutorial. The www.e tutes.com networking basics tutorial teaches the history of networking, starting with the invention of the telegraph, and takes us through to the current communication environment of the internet. In addition, the tutorial teaches us the basics of what defines a network, the components required for a network, and the different types of topologies of networks. Furthermore, there are eight sections, which go into more detail on all of these areas, including different cabling and transmission protocols. This tutorial is very good at providing some significant technical terms used in the networking industry. The following will provide a brief description of the terms I feel are of most importance. LAN local area network: This term describes all of the components of a network that communicate with one another, such as a printer, computer, fax, server. All of the network components must meet design protocols and standards in order to communicate with each other. Every component connected to the network, must be equipped with a network interface card (NIC) for the transmission media to
  • 46. Robustness in HDFS Robustness in HDFS The primary objective of HDFS is to store data reliably in the case of system failures or crashes. Three common type of failure occurrences are: o DataNode failure o NameNode failure o Network Partition The above diagram depicts that each DataNode, which sends a Heartbeat message to the NameNode periodically. A subset of DataNodes can lose connectivity with the NameNode which is caused by a network partition. The DataNodes without recent Heartbeats are marked as dead by the NameNodes. The NameNodes does not forward any new IO requests to the marked DataNodes. Data which was registered on the dead DataNode is not available to HDFS. DataNode death or shut down can cause the replication factor of some blocks to fall below their specified value. The NameNode constantly tracks the blocks which need to be replicated and initiates replication whenever it is essential. The requirement of re replication may arise in case of : o A replica becomes corrupted. o A DataNode is no longer available. o Replication factor of a file is increased beyond the limits. o A hard disk on a DataNode has failed or crashed. Cluster rebalancing The HDFS architecture provides compatibility for data rebalancing schemes. Provision is provided that data might be automatically moved from one DataNode to another if the free space on a DataNode falls below a certain threshold. In a particular situation where there is a
