Contemporary Challenge Essay
Outsourcing
Outsourcing is the transfer of control of a process or product to an outside supplier (Hasan).
For this assignment, please identify a contemporary management challenge (e.g. diversity,
globalism, ethics social responsibility, etc.). Then, identify a company or organization that you
believe has been impacted by this contemporary challenge. Write a minimum four page paper,
with a cover page, and works cited page (in addition to the four page minimum). The paper should
address (1) the challenge faced by that company or organization, (2) how management is
responding to that challenge, (3) a critical analysis of the management response, and (4) how you
would have responded to that challenge. This paper should be written in MLA format. Include at
least five outside sources, three of which should be scholarly journals (NOT Wikipedia or a generic
Web site, but actual articles from journals like Journal of Business Ethics, Harvard Business
Review, Academy of Management, etc.), and should demonstrate scholarly business critical
analysis.
Outsourcing today is looked down upon by just about everyone, so it is no surprise that
companies that partake in it, are publically called out and put under close scrutiny: the company
Nike is no exception to that. Nike was an early target for the very reason that it s been so
successful. Its business model was based

Rainforest
The name of the rainforest is given by the amount of rainfall it gets per year. In the rainforest the
climate is very hot and humid so the species of plants and animals have to learn to adapt. There are

Quarterback (QB) He calls the plays, initiates action and handles the snap. o The Quarterback
position requires speed and agility/ quickness in the sagittal and frontal planes, power for

throwing, acceleration for scrabbling in the pocket, and muscle endurance. Running Back (RB)
Also known as the Halfback. o The Running Back position requires speed and agility/ quickness
in the sagittal and frontal planes, power for running, hand eye coordination for catching the ball,
quick reaction time, psychological endurance, and acceleration for quick sprints. Fullback (FB)
Like a heartier version of the RB, but in the modern game usually more of a lead blocker out of
the backfield. o The Fullback position requires power for blocking, quick reaction time, strength,
speed and agility, and acceleration for quick sprints. Offensive Line There are five offensive
linemen. In order from left to right, Left Tackle (LT), Left Guard (LG), Center (C), Right Guard

I Am A Proud Aunt Of A 2-Year Old Beautiful Baby Girl.Her
I am a proud aunt of a 2 year old beautiful baby girl. Her name is Julianna Rasberry. Right now,
she currently attends A Mother s Heart Daycare facility. Last week, Julianna had a pretty tough
week. On Monday, she came home with scratches all over her face. Her teacher explained to me
that one incident occurred in the playroom area earlier that morning, after Julianna had been
dropped off. All of the kids gathered in the big playroom that morning, when their parents dropped
them off. So, her teacher was not able to explain one of the scratches on her face. The other two
scratches occurred in the classroom that day. The teacher stated that Julianna had hit one of her
classmates in the face, as the little girl was trying to sit in... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These elements are being able to listen to the opinions of others, even when their opinions differ
from her s and having a sense of self respect. The first strategy that I would recommend would be
to incorporate Julianna within the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) meetings. I know that
it would be a challenge for a 2 year old to sit through the whole entire meeting, so I would have
her present for the first five minutes, at the beginning of the meeting and then would have her
sent back to play with her classmates. This would help to make her aware of the fact that her
teacher and I do communicate regarding her academic and behavioral performance. It may also
make her aware of the fact that her behavior is being recorded/kept track of and will not be
tolerated. This strategy will allow her to work on listening to other people s opinions and self
respect. Another strategy that could be used is for her teacher to make note of her behavior on her
daily classroom report form that is sent home with her each day. This can be reviewed by Julianna
s parents and with Julianna at home, so that she knows that her parents know what is going on at
school. Time out is another strategy that should be incorporated within the classroom setting. This
will not only help to immediately address the inappropriate behavior, but it will also help Julianna
to work on her listening skills and allow her time to think about what she

Genetic Disease And The Medical World
Genetics plays a large role in the medical world, specifically when dealing with disease. Some
genetic diseases remain a mystery as to their specific origins, but this only highlights the
importance of continued research and an accurate and complete knowledge of one s family
medical history. This paper will cover one inherited genetic disease for which there is no cure, Fatal
Familial Insomnia( Self management of Fatal Familial Insomnia. Part 1: What is FFI? , 2006, p.
65). This particular disease was chosen due to its severity, swiftness with which it ends life, and its
ability to exist undetected without symptoms for decades unless one s family history is known.
Fatal Familial Insomnia, (FFI), is a neurodegenerative priondisease classified as a Transmissible
Spongiform Encephalopathy, (TSE), meaning that it is genetically transmitted (Belay, 1999, p.
284). FFI is autosomal dominant (Xie et al., 2013, p81 90), meaning that an individual with A or
AA alleles, a component of a gene pair, could carry this gene (Ireland, 2013). The capital, A or
AA , denotes a dominant genetic trait (Ireland, 2013). The carrier will usually only present with
one mutated gene and one normal gene in these cases which would be symbolized as, Aa ,
meaning the genotype is heterozygous, one dominant coded allele and one recessive (Ireland,
2013). Due to this 50 50 presentation of the gene itself, the likelihood of passing an autosomal
dominant disorder or gene to offspring is also 50 50. The

The Goals Of Disability Management Programs
Work related injuries are prevalent and costly. Each year an estimated 270 million workplace
accidents occur worldwide. The annual cost of these accidents is $1.25 trillion U.S dollars. Under
the Canadian human rights legislation, employers have a duty to accommodate individuals as they
return to work. Meaning those who are attempting to return to work following an injuryor illness via
change in job task and or the work environment to enable workers with temporary or permanent
disability to perform work productively. In light of financial and legislative realities, organizations
develop disability management programs to prevent workplace injury and illness and to
accommodate workers in a manner that facilitates early and safe return to work. The goals of
disability management programs include promotion of safe workplace; coordinated programming
in health, rehabilitation, and accommodation interventions. Disability management programs are
most effective when developed and applied using a systems approach. A system approach
emphasizes the work and organization context; for instance, the type of work and safety record of
the organization, instead of focusing sold on individual employees. Research shows that
workplaces with people focused workplace culture, positive safety attitudes, and articulated policies
on disability management tend to report shorter absences, lower disability costs, and less frequent
absences arising from workplace injury. Organizations heavily

The Benefits Of Irreversible Enzyme Inhibitors
Enzyme inhibitors are molecules that bind to enzymes to decrease their activity. Many drugs are
enzyme inhibitors because by blocking the enzymes activity it can kill pathogens (shpanskaya and
Melechko, 2008) Enzyme inhibitors assist in altering the catalytic action of an enzyme in order to
slow down or stop catalysis (Worthington biochemical corporation, 2015). Inhabitation can either be
reversible or irreversible. During irreversible inhabitation the inhibitor detaches slowly from its
targeted enzyme as it is tightly bound to the enzyme by covalent or noncovalent bonds. Important
drugs such as penicillin are irreversible inhibitors. The penicillin covalently modifies the enzyme
transpeptidase which prevents synthesis of bacterial cell walls consequently killing off the bacteria
(Biochemistry, 2002)
As opposed to irreversible inhibition, reversible inhibition is a rapid detachment of the enzyme
inhibitor because the inhibitors bind to the enzymes with non covalent bonds. Unlike irreversible
inhibitors, reversible inhibitors do not have chemical reaction and can be broken down easily by
methods such as dilution (shpanskaya ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the amount of energy needed to pump blood around the body and can cause high blood pressure.
This can be dangerous for the heart if it had been weakened by heart attack. By blocking the
production of Angiotensin II with ACE inhibitors this, in turn prevents constriction and lowers
blood pressure (American Heart Association, 2015). ACE inhibitors also help to stop angiotensin I
from converting into angiotensin II. By doing this there is a reduction in dilation of the blood
vessels. There is also a reduction of the amount of water returned to the blood by the kidneys which
ultimately leads to decreased blood pressure (Kenny,

Seat Belt Laws Essay
Since the implementation of mandatory seat belt laws studies have shown that seat belt usage has
increased while traffic fatalities have decreased. Seat belt usage rates increased from 17% to 79%
in the U.S. between 1983 and 2003 (Houston Richardson, 2006). All U.S. states except New
Hampshire have mandatory seat beltlaws for adults. Currently, there are two types of seat belt
enforcement, primary and secondary. To date, 34 states have a primary enforcement law which
allows a police officer to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicleand issue a citation for no other reason
than the fact that the driver is not wearing a seat belt. A benefit to a state having a primary
enforcement law is that in 2016 seat belt usage was up 92% according to the CDC (2017).
A secondary seat belt enforcement law requires a police officer to have a separate traffic
infraction, such as speeding, before being allowed to cite a driver for not wearing a seat belt.
There are 15 states which currently operate under a secondary seat belt law. According to
research provided by the CDC, states with secondary seat belt enforcement action had an increase
in seat belt usage by 83% in 2016 (2017). It is unclear if states with primary enforcement action

Aldous Huxley s Brave New World Today
Brave New World vs.Our World Today Brave New World, a book published by Aldous Huxley in
the 1930s, anticipates our development of technology in the future. He was influenced by the
society around him and wrote about his thoughts of the future. These influences appeared multiple
times and reflected some of our world today. In his novel, Brave New World, the author, Aldous
Huxley, shows the damages of a chaotic society by showing the usage of sex, drugs, literature,
and science. At the beginning of Brave New World, Aldous Huxley wrote about the science and
development of the futuristic dystopian society, which is called World State. During the first
three chapters we learn from the D.H.C. (Director of Hatcheries and Conditioning) about the

Lessons Learned From the Massacre at Wounded Knee Essays
Introduction
The massacre at Wounded Knee was the last action in a long and bloody war that pitted Native
American Indians against U.S Military forces. For roughly 300 years the two sides had been in
constant conflict across America in a battle for land, resources, and ultimately; freedom. This final
massacre solidified the American hold on the west and closed the final chapter on a way of life
that can never be brought back. Lakota Indians, having learned of the death of Sitting Bull started to
move towards Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in hopes of finding protection from Red Cloud.
However, the harsh South Dakota winter weather had different plans, causing Chief Big Foot to
become extremely ill. The Lakota came across cavalry forces ... Show more content on

In 1841, that myth was shatter when a group of sixty nine people moving towards California and
Oregon entered into Lakota lands and passed through unscathed. Once word arrived back east of
the their success, people started to jump on wagon trains and venture west for land and
prosperity. During the time period from 1841 1848 the Lakota never bothered any of the settlers
passing through, even though they were carving roads over the grasslands and killing buffalo in
the area. 3 The discovery of gold in California changed all of that. Starting in 1848, the stream of
settlers became a raging river and in 1850 nearly fifty five thousand people crossed through
Lakota lands via the Overland Trail. 4 The Lakota did nothing even though increasing numbers of
settlers along with their cattle were starting to decimate the prairie grasslands as they passed
through on their way westward. The final issue that led the Lakota to push the settlers out of their
lands was that of disease. The Native Americans had never been exposed to Asian cholera,
smallpox, and the measles. European settlers brought these with them as they traveled west and
infected Lakota causing many of them to experience horrible fevers and suffering before dying
without any way of being helped. 5 The Fort Laramie Treaty of 1851 guaranteed sovereignty to the
Lakota as long as they allowed settlers to pass through on the Oregon Trail unharmed.6 At this
point, the Lakota had enough and decided to take

Dichotomy In Film
Beginning at a very young age in our lives, the film industry influences the way in which each
individual interprets the actions that are taken by a character in a film. The constant portrayal of
what characteristics would best fit with defining what it is to be a hero, seem to focus mainly on
masculine traits. The desirable traits that are illustrated in the majority of the films are being
independent, strong, and most importantly a male. However, the filmMaleficent (2014),
contradicts this idea. This film tells the story of Maleficent (Angelina Jolie), a young woman that
has been fooled into believing in true love. When the person she believed was her true love,

This is due to the fact that females are portrayed as being fragile, emotional, and dependent.
Disney fairytales have a constant reoccurring theme in which the male character will save the

According to Jack Zipes, author of Fairytales and the Art of Subversion says that the patriarchal
notion is that all women should remain comatose until then rescued by a prince. (Sneed) This
proves that Disney films focused on the dominance of male characters over the females. The
princess was prone to being more fragile and afraid of becoming independent. Even though the
princess is the main character in the Disney films, they are deprived of their ability to think and act

A Report On The, And Crime, Fraud, Theft And Theft Of A...
1.Introduction Often retailers will overtly protect expensive, top shelf products, however this may
result in increased theft of less secure, bottom shelf goods. This incidence is referred to as
redistributive crime. Retailers prioritize the products they secure and those that they leave
unsecured, leading to an increase in the shrink of the items that were of less concern. In most retail
companies, there is a loss prevention (LP) department tasked with minimizing product loss, referred
to as inventory shrink. LP is implemented to reduce the preventable loss of a company s assets, like
the loss associated with redistributive crime, by utilizing technologies that mitigate theft and fraud.
Retailers continuously adapt their technologies to handle threats, but there are still numerous
underlying issues, such as employee theft, fraud, and shoplifting. Furthermore, the improved
technology that consumers have access to increases their ability to steal products like ink. This
drives LP to make technological progress to prevent further inventory shrinkage. However, there are
budget constraints and efficiency problems that arise with newer, more complex LP technology.
Using a case study of the ink department at Office Depot, this paper will evaluate redistributive
crime and analyze the security measures needed to combat such crimes. While doing this, I will pay
particular attention to the marginal benefits and marginal costs of the Electronic Article

Cohabitation With A Community Or Family
Introduction Society is always changing on what should and should not be accepted in a
community or family. However as much as many may disagree on cohabitation before marriage
couples are opting for this option due to many reasons, for most living with someone before
being married gives them the opportunity to see if they are really willing to spend the rest of their
lives with such person. This will give them the opportunity to learn from each other and if they are
fit in such relationship. In other views we can see that many disagree because they are disobeying
good wish for a couple to be united in marriage. With that they continue to argue about how this
affects relationships and children. Furthermore, I think that one should be able to decide what is
best for oneself and cohabitationshould not be a problem if ones agrees to it. In this paper I will be
examining three different articles on the topic of cohabitation with the information that is
provided by the authors, I will critique their effectiveness in certain areas and see if a reader is
able to attain adequate statist. I will first focus on a website article, As Marriage and Parenthood
Drift Apart, Public is concerned about Social Impact by Cary Funk. The second that I choose from
a magazine article is Unmarried, with Children by Barbara Kantrowitz from Newsweek. The third
and last article that I will review is Measuring cohabitation and family structure in the United States:

Girls Are To Gross As Boys Research
Girls are to gross as boys are to clean. In truth, a teenage girl would make her bed, listen to music,
or watch tv, while her teenage brother would sit there and eat pizza while playing video games.
Honestly, it might exist as an art, because who knew someone could be so good at being
disgusting. They lay out the whole plan. First they order the pizza. Then, they take their clothes off
and throw them on the floor (yes ladies, this includes dirty underwear). Afterwards, they order the
pizza......and wala! Here occurs the room of a messy teenage boy. Such an amazing piece right? Of

Prozac Nation Analysis
We re Living In a Prozac Nation, The United States Of Depression
When we break our arm everyone runs forward to sign the cast but when we say we have
depression everyone turns and runs the other way. This author shows how severe depression can
form and issues that can be associated with severe depression. The way Elizabeth Wurtzeldepicts
depression and the substance abuse that can be related to severe depression is impeccable in her
non fiction novel Prozac Nation. Depression affects more than 350 million people worldwide
and is the most common of all the mental illnesses, it doesn t have a cure but it is manageable
with proper medication. Elizabeth Wurtzel has said I made Prozac Nation a necessary reading
because I write necessarily. I tell my story because it is about everyone else: in 1993, people took
pills to relieve the pain just like they do now, but it scared them; it doesn t anymore, because talk
is not cheap at all it is tender i think this is very important because it shows how hushed the talk
about the facts on mental illness are. Although depression is shown to be an individual illness,
the author effectively demonstrates the massive toll depression takes on family and friends. For
example, depression takes a toll on your family and friends by having to watch you suffer and be
in pain and not be able to do anything about it. Secondly, your family and friends are stuck
watching as depression takes you

A Comparison Of The World Trade Center Attack In 1993 And...
The first World Trade Center Attack in 1993 and the Boston Marathon Attack in 2013 are two
significant attacks that share some similarities and difference. Although horrific, both attacks
provide useful information to combat terrorism in the future. In a way, the World Trade Center
Attack influenced the Boston Marathon Attack, and there is even an indirect link between the two
attacks. Observing how the occurrences resembled one another, and interpreting the way
technology has changed will provide some insight.
First, the World Trade CenterAttack was perpetrated by the terrorist organization Al Qaeda. Al
Qaeda is a notorious, organized, and established group of radical Islamists. Al Qaeda has
influenced numerous other terrorist organizations in countries around the world. They have access
to massive resources, regarding both people, technology, know how, and weapons. Al Qaeda has
been on the intelligence radar for many years.
In contrast, the two subjects that committed the Boston Marathon Attack, later identified as the
Tsarnaev brothers, were not formally affiliated with any terrorist organization. They were self
funded, and their resources were limited. They were also relatively unknown to United States
Intelligence, although Russian Intelligence did have information that the brothers were potentially
involved in terrorist activity. The brothers were young immigrants with little to no criminal
backgrounds or experience.

Specific Purpose:To display why the Patriot Act (Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing

something the citizens should allow to be part of the US Law.
I. Attention Getter:Between 2003 and 2006, the FBI issued 192,499 National Security Letters
which led to 1 terror related conviction. This fact comes from
A Review of the FBI s Use of National Security Letters by the Office of the Inspector General.

Limiting Freedom of Speech
Support: When contacted by FBI with a NSL( National Security Letter) and asked for information,
you are then placed under a gag order. This means that you are forbidden from telling anyone that
the FBI has approached you and asked for this information on a person.
Example: An email provider is contacted by the government to hand over emails from someone
they are looking into, they are not allowed to release to the public this has occurred.
Support: The investigators have the ability to monitor any political or religious group without
necessary cause.
Support: This can cause people to be afraid to speak up, or speak out against something, because
anything no matter how private can be found.
Main Point II. Improper Search and Seizure
Support: Investigators may search houses, offices, papers, files, etc and seize any information found
without probable cause. (Because of the NSL)
Example: According to an analysis by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), out of the 11,129
reported uses of the Sneak and Peek Warrant tactic in 2013, only 51 cases (.5 percent) involved
suspected terrorism. The overwhelming majority (9,401 cases) were used for narcotics

The Tale of Little Red Riding Hood is a short fiction story, which is a modern version of the
classic short story with a sexual intake. In this story we see how the town wolves are considered
sexual predators who need to be satisfied with sex, yet they kill the people they have sex with,
because the women usually do not want to accept their sexual desires. However, when Little
Red Riding Hood is faced with the wolf, she doesn t allow him to take control over her and do as
he pleases, but instead laughs in his face when he mentions of eating her and takes control of the
situation, her body by accepting her sexual desires and tames the wolf unlike the other women
throughout the story. What big teeth you have! All the better to eat you with. The girl burst out
laughing; she knew she was nobody s meat. She laughed at him full in the face, she ripped of his
shirt for him and flung it into the fire, in the fiery wake of her own discarded clothing. [...] See!

Hyacinth Macaw Research Paper
Hyacinth Macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthinus)
The hyacinth Macaw (Anodorhynchus hyacinthine) is a parrot homegrown to central and eastern
South America (Wikipedia, 2017). In general these parrots are the largest parrots, about 40 inches
in length (Lafeber, 2017). Their body colour is blue with yellow streaks around eyes and beaks.
Perhaps, the unique feature of this parrot is that the Hyacinth macaw is not having ridges in their
beak. These parrots are having toothless beak (Wild Republic, 2017).
The nesting of Hyacinth macaw begins between July and December. It rely on its predator which
is toucan. The parrot make it nest on the manduvi tree, that parrot needs while reproduction
(Wikipedia, 2017). These macaw are monogamous, they have only one partner for whole life.
Generally, macaw lay two to four eggs with the interval of 25 to 28 days. While female parrot
lays eggs in the nests, she spend most of the time with the eggs and the female macaw is fed by the

They use their toes as their hands and eat with them. As these parrots are having strong beaks, they

The hyacinth macaw is denoting bird of the parrot family. They are known as gentle giants as they
are calmer than other parrots. These parrots make both high pitch and low pitch noise (sprude,
2017). But now hyacinth macaw is endangered species as they have lost their natural habitat. They
need proper care for health otherwise they will suffer from disease known as Psittacosis and

Motifs are recurring structures; contrasts or literary devices that can help develop the text s major
themes. In a paragraph, explain how these both function as motifs in the novel. Be sure to also
explain the effect these motifs have on the characters.
a.The recurring motifs of the poem and the soldier figurines correlate together in the novel And
Then There Were None. The poem Ten Little Soldiers guides the plot in its direction and directs
the next murder. In the beginning of the novel there were ten soldier figurines on the dining
room table. However, every time someone was killed, by the way described in the poem, one of
the figurines would be removed. Rogers was the first one to notice the start in this trend. After the
death of his wife and Anthony, Rogers nervously tells Dr. Armstrong There s only eight, sir! Only
eight! It doesn t male sense, does it? Only eight ... (106). The poem plays a powerful affect on Vera
Claythorne the most. She gets so caught up in the poem that she even kills herself to fulfill the last
line.

UCO of Miami is a Non Profit organization that serves adults and children with disabilities. UCO
has a day program for adults where they can participate in recreational activities, go on
excursions and also offer adults with disabilities employment skills training. United Community
options was established in 1947 and has always aimed to being accessible for people with
disabilities. The first thing I notice when I entered the parking lot was that UCO had four
accessible parking spots and out of those four spots two are van accessible. They also have
accessible drop off areas and accessible routes to get to the entrance. The front door which is 64
inches wide is automatic and stays open until the person passes through. The front door leads to
the lobby which is very wide and has enough space for people that use wheel chairs to enter
without obstruction getting in the way. The whole building is leveled and doesn t require
ramps for the front entrance. Once past the front lobby there are a sequence of hallways you can
take in order to get where you want to. Most of the hall ways measure from 59 inches to 84
inches wide and are leveled. Most objects like fire extinguishers or drinking fountains or signs
protrude no more then four inches from the wall. United Community Options of Miami is a one

Essay on Matewan and Norma Rae
Matewan and Norma Rae
Theoretically, the characters of both Matewan, and Norma Rae take part in a capitalistic society. In
both situations the people are partaking in a form of labor market, where they are selling their time
and energy. However, the town of Matewan, governed by the Stone Mountain Coal Companies

a feudalistic condition. Despite the fact that Norma Rae s small hometown of Alabama bears a great
resemblance to the town of Matewan, their economic situation remains a form of capitalism.

The Causes Of Computer Threats
Have you ever wondered about today s ongoing problem with computer based threats? There are
many online complications today with these new generations forming. Computer viruses, malware,
identity theft, online predators, cyber bullying, phishing, and hacking (black hat and white hat) are
only a few problems going on online, yet they cause so many problems and threats.
To begin with, computer viruses are types of malicious software programs that replicate themselves
by changing other computer programs and inserting their own code. This all happens when they get
executed. This takes place when computers become infected with the virus, there are many reasons
to why computers can become infected. Accepting without reading is by far the most common way
a computer can become infected. This happens when a user just automatically accepts what they see
on their screen without reading the prompt before continuing. For example, while on the internet an
advertisement or a window may appear that says your computer is infected, without completely
understanding what you re getting, you accept the prompt anyways. Another reason to why your
computer may become infected is by downloading any infected software. When downloading
software such as programs, utilities, games, updates, demos, etc. always make sure you are
downloading this software from reliable sources. Always read all prompts about what the program
is installing onto your computer. Opening e mail attachments can cause your

Television And Young Women s Western Society
Television and Young Women in Western Society Reality television is considered to be essentially
unscripted and unfiltered television programs where people showcase themselves depicting their
real lives, the good, the bad and the ugly. Reality TV shows like The Real Housewives or The
Kardashians exploit the lives of wealthy high class people who portray drama, fortune and
materialistic things. Since the beginning of the reality show phenomenon critics have been
debating that reality televisionis nothing more than highly scripted flavored up televisionthat
attracts viewers with the allure of dramatic flare and sex appeal. Is reality television negatively
effecting the perception of self and genderroles in young women who are viewing it? According to
research done at the University of Michigan, 71% of 8 18 year olds have a TV in their bedroom
and in 53% of those households there is no restriction on TV viewing (Boyse). With the female
population under 18 years of age soaring at 74,181,467 (US Census), it is obvious that a large
portion of young females are viewing these reality television programs. According to another study
done at Oregon State University, reality TV statistics point out that 68% 18 29 year olds watch
reality television (Oregon). Social comparison theory states that people are repeatedly evaluating
themselves by comparing themselves to others (Vonderen, Kinnally). With this being said, females

Over the last decades, information warfare has become a societal issue. Research shows that
information warfare does not exclude to military, and have penetrated into commercial word. This

Information is a valuable asset for businesses and organizations. Advances in information

technologies such as the Internet and networked technology to reduce operating costs, improve
customer service, and improve productivity. However, Using the Internet has increased the number

Although, governments and businesses have spent billions of dollars on IT to protect their
information, Medias highlights that the number of cyber fraud and cyber attacks by nation states,
criminals, and hacktivists is accelerating. ( Ezingeard, McFadzean, Birchall, 2005)

walking distance of 325m, type of PAH, and bosentan use. Patients were not qualified to

significant (p 0.01). Compared with placebo, tadalafil 40mg had statistical significanceof 6 MWD
without bosentan therapy at 44m, versus patients with bosentan with a 6 MWD of 23m. The
WHO functional class was not statistically significant in comparison with placebo because
patients with better WHO functional class showed no difference in comparison to people with
worse WHO functional class. After the 341 patients completed the 16 week trial, 334 of them

Who Is Cool Hand Luke As A Christ Figure
Luke as a Christ Figure In literature, it s not uncommon for authors to create a character who
parallels Christ himself. In Cool Hand Luke, directed by Stuart Rosenberg, starring Paul Newman,

figure. The film begins with Luke being arrested on account of being intoxicated and vandalizing

Social Cost Benefit Analysis and Itemization of On Site Sediment Remediation
Introduction/Background
Transport of contaminated sediments from major regional Superfund projects in the NY/NJ harbor
corridor has been the preferred back end alternative after the dredging remedy is performed in order
to clean these areas without generating higher costs. However, after dewatering, these sediments
are shipped at great distances (to UT, OK, TX, ID) for final disposition at C landfills or for
incineration. Corporate risk management in mishandling the Superfund sediment in transport such
as a derailment can lead to long term corporate liability as well as environmental hazards from a
spill from both the ecological and human health perspectives. As such, a new localized remediation
method involving superheating sediments on site within a rotary kiln have recently been
implemented in other areas, and, because of its beneficial use product generation, reduction of risk
and gaseous contaminants, and removal of transport costs, it is now being considered as a viable
alternative to traditional post dredge remediation procedures.
This social cost benefit analysis will look at the Focused Feasibility Study Report (FFS) on the
USEPA Passaic River Superfund concentrating on sediment processing and subsequent transport by
rail to out of state landfill and incineration facilities. Costs components of the process have

The Forbidden City was the Chinese imperial palace from the mid Ming Dynasty to the end of the

The leadership of Grand Central make tough decisions each year, as their strategy calls for them to
cull 2 books from their three hundred, on which to focus most of their marketing time, energy and

not to fall. However, the dream meaning would show a deeper for a man who had been
suppressing his desire of dressing up as a woman. A woman who is has a shoe addiction may
feel thrill of wearing a new pair of shoes. Or another meaning is she needs to wear a pair of heels
she already owns. The following dream is a personal dream from my book Learn the Secret
Language of Dreams from the precognitive dreams chapter. This dream from 1992 illustrates
how my past work situation, feelings, and other symbols can affect a shoe dream meaning: I had
just finished watching the first part of a movie and was very excited to watch the second half. A
couple of the salesmen and the service manager were there. One of the salesmen told me not to
bother watching the second half that it was not worth it. I was upset and angry because I really

Taming Of The Shrew And 10 Things I Hate About You Analysis
Have you ever had a relationship that has moved on because of change? Maybe he or she was too
different from when things started? The play Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare and the
movie 10 Things I Hate About You explore how the relationship between Katherine and Petruchio
have evolved throughout cultural differences. Whether showing this through Petruchio, Katherine,
and how their relationship overall maneuver they act differently or stay the same because of
cultural influence. This dictates their views and behaviors in their relationship. Petruchio and
Katherine certainly have many differences from 16th century Italy to early 2000s United States. Let
s explore these differences now, starting with Petruchio.
If you have seen 10 Things I Hate About You, you would definitely remember the rebellious and
sexy Patrick. Whether that be his black combat boots, long hair and rugged appearance, or the fact

At the conclusion of Taming of the Shrew Katherine is a different person entirely and is tamed

is ready, may it do him ease. (Act 5 Sc. 2 193 195) This explains that Katherine is telling the other
ladies to do whatever their husbands command and that you should do anything for him. This is
quite a contrast to the beginning of both the play and movie where both Katherine s are rebels and
are very independent. Together, though, Katherine and Petruchio s relationship also has

Character Analysis Of Afrika Road
Afrika Road, a story that symbolizes oppression of the whites who are capturing the blacks. The
blacks are being oppressed, controlled by the white people and Afrika road symbolizes their
struggle of dealing with this problem. In Don Mattera s short story Afrika Road , there are many
examples that show the different character traits Afrika Road portrays. The different character traits
of the protagonist, the story Afrika Road shows is meritoriousness, tolerance, and victimization.
In Afrika Road, there are many examples that show the character trait of meritoriousness. An
example is when the author states, [M]en, women, children... soldiers without uniforms or
conventional armory... aware that death waited for them on Masphala Hill (Mattera 91). This
reference suggests that the black people are being oppressed by the white people but will continue
their march of freedom even knowing what consequences can arise and trouble them. One can
conclude that the black people are trying to take back their rights and freedom, everyone
participated including men, women, children even the soldiers with and without uniforms. In
essence, they are being forced into being soldiers. In addition, it can be noted that the black
people are merited to stand up in front of the whites to earn back what was rightfully theirs. Blacks
are being praised for what they did, for having the courage to go through their plan and be brave
enough to execute their plan even though they knew what they were going

Right now, she currently attends A Mother s Heart Daycare facility. Last week, Julianna had a pretty tough week. On Monday, she came home with scratches all over her face. Her teacher explained to me that one incident occurred in the playroom area earlier that morning, after Julianna had been dropped off. All of the kids gathered in the big playroom that morning, when their parents dropped them off. So, her teacher was not able to explain one of the scratches on her face. The first strategy that I would recommend would be to incorporate Julianna within the Individualized Educational Plan (IEP) meetings. I know that it would be a challenge for a 2 year old to sit through the whole entire meeting, so I would have her present for the first five minutes, at the beginning of the meeting and then would have her sent back to play with her classmates. This would help to make her aware of the fact that her teacher and I do communicate regarding her academic and behavioral performance. It may also make her aware of the fact that her behavior is being recorded/kept track of and will not be tolerated. This strategy will allow her to work on listening to other people s opinions and self respect. Another strategy that could be used is for her teacher to make note of her behavior on her daily classroom report form that is sent home with her each day. This can be reviewed by Julianna s parents and with Julianna at home, so that she knows that her parents know what is going on at school. Time out is another strategy that should be incorporated within the classroom setting. This will not only help to immediately address the inappropriate behavior, but it will also help Julianna to work on her listening skills and allow her time to think about what she ... • 7. Genetic Disease And The Medical World Genetics plays a large role in the medical world, specifically when dealing with disease. Some genetic diseases remain a mystery as to their specific origins, but this only highlights the importance of continued research and an accurate and complete knowledge of one s family medical history. This paper will cover one inherited genetic disease for which there is no cure, Fatal Familial Insomnia( Self management of Fatal Familial Insomnia. Part 1: What is FFI? , 2006, p. 65). This particular disease was chosen due to its severity, swiftness with which it ends life, and its ability to exist undetected without symptoms for decades unless one s family history is known. Fatal Familial Insomnia, (FFI), is a neurodegenerative priondisease classified as a Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathy, (TSE), meaning that it is genetically transmitted (Belay, 1999, p. 284). FFI is autosomal dominant (Xie et al., 2013, p81 90), meaning that an individual with A or AA alleles, a component of a gene pair, could carry this gene (Ireland, 2013). The capital, A or AA , denotes a dominant genetic trait (Ireland, 2013). The carrier will usually only present with one mutated gene and one normal gene in these cases which would be symbolized as, Aa , meaning the genotype is heterozygous, one dominant coded allele and one recessive (Ireland, 2013). Due to this 50 50 presentation of the gene itself, the likelihood of passing an autosomal dominant disorder or gene to offspring is also 50 50. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. The Goals Of Disability Management Programs Work related injuries are prevalent and costly. Each year an estimated 270 million workplace accidents occur worldwide. The annual cost of these accidents is $1.25 trillion U.S dollars. Under the Canadian human rights legislation, employers have a duty to accommodate individuals as they return to work. Meaning those who are attempting to return to work following an injuryor illness via change in job task and or the work environment to enable workers with temporary or permanent disability to perform work productively. In light of financial and legislative realities, organizations develop disability management programs to prevent workplace injury and illness and to accommodate workers in a manner that facilitates early and safe return to work. The goals of disability management programs include promotion of safe workplace; coordinated programming in health, rehabilitation, and accommodation interventions. Disability management programs are most effective when developed and applied using a systems approach. A system approach emphasizes the work and organization context; for instance, the type of work and safety record of the organization, instead of focusing sold on individual employees. Research shows that workplaces with people focused workplace culture, positive safety attitudes, and articulated policies on disability management tend to report shorter absences, lower disability costs, and less frequent absences arising from workplace injury. • 9. The Benefits Of Irreversible Enzyme Inhibitors Enzyme inhibitors are molecules that bind to enzymes to decrease their activity. Many drugs are enzyme inhibitors because by blocking the enzymes activity it can kill pathogens (shpanskaya and Melechko, 2008) Enzyme inhibitors assist in altering the catalytic action of an enzyme in order to slow down or stop catalysis (Worthington biochemical corporation, 2015). Inhabitation can either be reversible or irreversible. During irreversible inhabitation the inhibitor detaches slowly from its targeted enzyme as it is tightly bound to the enzyme by covalent or noncovalent bonds. Important drugs such as penicillin are irreversible inhibitors. The penicillin covalently modifies the enzyme transpeptidase which prevents synthesis of bacterial cell walls consequently killing off the bacteria (Biochemistry, 2002) As opposed to irreversible inhibition, reversible inhibition is a rapid detachment of the enzyme inhibitor because the inhibitors bind to the enzymes with non covalent bonds. This incidence is referred to as redistributive crime. Retailers prioritize the products they secure and those that they leave unsecured, leading to an increase in the shrink of the items that were of less concern. In most retail companies, there is a loss prevention (LP) department tasked with minimizing product loss, referred to as inventory shrink. LP is implemented to reduce the preventable loss of a company s assets, like the loss associated with redistributive crime, by utilizing technologies that mitigate theft and fraud. Retailers continuously adapt their technologies to handle threats, but there are still numerous underlying issues, such as employee theft, fraud, and shoplifting. Furthermore, the improved technology that consumers have access to increases their ability to steal products like ink. This drives LP to make technological progress to prevent further inventory shrinkage. However, there are budget constraints and efficiency problems that arise with newer, more complex LP technology. Joseph Cavera Dr. Pankaj Lal Environmental Economics November 22, 2014 Social Cost Benefit Analysis and Itemization of On Site Sediment Remediation Introduction/Background Transport of contaminated sediments from major regional Superfund projects in the NY/NJ harbor corridor has been the preferred back end alternative after the dredging remedy is performed in order to clean these areas without generating higher costs. However, after dewatering, these sediments are shipped at great distances (to UT, OK, TX, ID) for final disposition at C landfills or for incineration. Corporate risk management in mishandling the Superfund sediment in transport such as a derailment can lead to long term corporate liability as well as environmental hazards from a spill from both the ecological and human health perspectives. As such, a new localized remediation method involving superheating sediments on site within a rotary kiln have recently been implemented in other areas, and, because of its beneficial use product generation, reduction of risk and gaseous contaminants, and removal of transport costs, it is now being considered as a viable alternative to traditional post dredge remediation procedures.
