Family Relationship Essay
Crafting an essay on the theme of family relationships can be both a rewarding and challenging
endeavor. On one hand, the subject matter is deeply personal and relatable, offering a rich
tapestry of emotions, experiences, and dynamics to explore. However, this very familiarity can
make it challenging to approach the topic with the required depth and objectivity.
The difficulty lies in striking the right balance between personal anecdotes and broader societal
perspectives. It demands a delicate dance between introspection and research, as delving too
much into one's personal experiences may risk becoming overly subjective, while a lack of
personal connection can result in a detached and impersonal piece.
Furthermore, the complexity of familial relationships adds an additional layer of challenge. The
intricate web of emotions, expectations, and evolving dynamics within a family necessitates a
nuanced understanding. Capturing the essence of these relationships requires not only a keen
observational eye but also the ability to navigate the delicate terrain of familial complexities.
Moreover, maintaining a coherent structure throughout the essay becomes crucial. It involves
organizing thoughts in a logical sequence that allows readers to follow the narrative without
getting lost in the intricacies of the familial web. Finding the right words to express the depth of
emotions and the evolution of relationships over time adds yet another layer of difficulty.
In essence, writing an essay on family relationships demands a delicate blend of personal
reflection, research, and the art of storytelling. It requires the writer to navigate the fine line
between the subjective and the objective, all while weaving a compelling narrative that resonates
with readers on a universal level.

Pros And Cons Of Living At Home Vs Living On Campus
Almost every new coming freshman face the choice of living at home or living on
campus during the start of their college career. For most college students it is an
easy compromise to move away from home, while for others it really makes no
sense. The change from home life to dorm life generates a major step for some
students. Living at home versus living on campus comes with many advantages and
disadvantages. These include money, convenience, and time. Living at home can be
both a positive and negative aspect of one s life. Students choosing to live at home
have an advantage of money problems since living on campus is not cheap. Usually,
staying with your parents is cheaper than staying in a dorm room. The cost of a
dorm room can be as much as the cost of the college. The students cannot negotiate
the price of the on campus dorms, and if a resident did not pay for the next year of
housing, they could potentially be kicked out. Whereas, living at home, no parent
would kick out their child and they would not have to worry about paying rent.
Students would also save a boatload of money on the cost of food and supplies.
Their parents would pay for the food in the house and any necessity that would be
required. This includes doing laundry, cooking homemade meals, or an unlimited
amount of time in the shower. However, with many pros living at home there equally
a number of pros and cons dealing with convenience when students live on campus or
at home. Students

In most cases, the fire department that is responsible for the installation and
looking over of traffic signals is also responsible for the fixing equipment that is
installed at intersections, however the fire department may be responsible for
testing and reporting any system malfunctions. Emergency vehicle drivers should
be required to follow very specific procedures when systems are in use. The driver
must not exceed a speed that will trigger the system to turn on and make the traffic
signals turn green before the emergency vehicle arrives at the intersection. Once
the light becomes green, if the path is clear, the emergency vehicle should go
through the intersection at the speed limit or slower, although the driver must
always be prepared for the unpredictable actions of other drivers. The emergency
vehicle driver must also be prepared to stop if the system does not function
properly. The driver must not approach an intersection while going too fast to stop
because if the light turns green for the other side and the cars move then they can
get in an accident (the second leading cause of death for firefighters). A very
dangerous crash can happen when two fire service veichles approach an
intersection at the same time from different directions. Fatal crashes between
emergency vehicles have happened in these circumstances. All traffic signal
systems are designed so that one vehicle will have full control of the intersection,
the first signal from the first truck will be accepted and the signal from the other
will be rejected. If a system fails to provide a green signal as a fire service vehicle
approaches, the driver must assume that another emergency vehicle will be coming
through the intersection and the other vehicle has the green light. Some systems
provide special lights at the intersection to advise an approaching
Dog Vs Pig As A Pet
Dog vs Pig as a Pet
Choosing a pet should never be a snap decision; as one of the airmen from my old
squadron learned after he bought a potbellied pig. The airmen come into the
section with a bandage across his nose and bruising below his eyes. When I asked
him what happened, he proceeded to tell me about his morning. His pig was an
incredibly busy little pig during the night; he piled the area rugs from the house
into the hallway, which had been laid out to prevent the pig from sliding on the
laminate floor. The next morning the pig stood by his dish and squealed like he
was in trouble or dying. The airmen came running down the hallway in a half asleep
daze, tripping over the pile of area rugs landing on his face. The airmen said the pig
stopped squealing and walked up to him and sat down; as if to say I m hungry! The
airmen said he looked at the pig and said Why did I pay $2300 for you; all you are is
a miserable little turd. I think, I should have stuck with a dog. Both dogs and pigs can
make a great pet, but the proper selection rests on the owner s lifestyle, finances, and
living arrangements.
Dogs can make a minimal impact on an owner s lifestyle, once trained, they can be
very obedient and shows unconditional love for their owners, such as greeting them
at the door. Most can be left for the day without worry as to what they are going to do
while the owners are gone. Then, if a person travels and can t take the dog, they can
be boarded at a kennel for a week or

The second part is where the fun part actually starts, you re going to add one or two
heaping spoonfuls of regular white frosting to the crumbled up cake you have.
Keep adding frosting until you get the consistency pretty doughy, but still firm
enough to handle.
After kneeding the dough thoroughly you re going to want to roll the dough out inch
size balls.
A normal box of cake mix should make about 20 cake pops.
After all the balls are rolled out, they should go in the fridge or freezer for about a
half an hour to help them set. After those agonizing thirty minutes are up, you re able
to take the cake pops out of the refrigerator or freezer, and then melt some almond
bark.
After dipping the stick in the almond bark, you re going to want to stick it about
halfway through the now official cake pop .
The chocolate on the stick is to help the stick stay sturdy while you actually eat the
sweet treat.
When you ve finished putting the sticks into each of the cake balls, you should put
them back into the refrigerator in order to help the chocolate solidify.
Transition:
The last part we re going to focus on is probably the most simple. Decorating the
cake pop.
Using the previously melted almond bark, you can simply dip the cake pop in and
spread a thin layer of chocolate all around the pop.
While the chocolate is still wet, feel free to decorate in any way you d like. For today
I just used simple sprinkles but there
Quotes From The Memory Keeper s Daughter
This quote is very important to The Memory Keeper s Daughter for a few reasons.
One reason this is important is because it represents David s deepest secret. David
s secret was the he told Norah that their daughter, Phoebe had died at birth when
actually she was born and living, but with Downs Syndrome. He gave her up to his
nurse, Caroline because he did not want to deal with the heartbreak of loosing a
child at a young age. David had mentioned that his younger sister had died at a
young age due to a heart condition. He knew that it was very common for a child
with Downs Syndrome to have a heart condition, so he made a split second decision
to give Phoebe up so he would not have to deal with the pain if she had died. This
quote also represents
Technology During Ww1
Throughout time, soldiers needed new technology during World War l. Therefore,
people started to have ideas of better and new technology, that developed the start of
new weapons and technology to use in the war. This new technology had benefits and
it also had problems.
Many new technology started to arise. The weapons are the ones in which developed
even more. Such as the machine guns, the guns were the most destructive weapon.
The most popular one was the Gatling gun. What made the gun convenient was that
they had the ability to carry it around and if was an effective addition to their
weapons. The poison gas was another new technology which made war even more
miserable. Both sides thought that the use of poison gas would allow them to break ...

These airplanes at first by the people thought they were going to be useless. In the
end, the airplanes ended up being very useful. The airplanes served as a good way
to shoot out the opponents. The airplanes being up in the air was such a good
advantage for the soldiers that were going to use them for war purposes.
Tanks were first introduced during the Battle of Flers Courcelette in September
1916. The tanks of WWI played a really important role during the war because it
increased mobility and it broke the stalemate of trench warfare. One of the few
problems the tank had during the war was the speed the tanks go. It only goes about
four miles per hour and that s pretty slow and could only do so much.
The impacts of this new technology in the World War l was that it made the war
much more difficult for the infantry soldiers who did most of the fighting. The
advanced technology helped them a lot throughout the war, which was a benefit for
them. In the form of tanks and airplanes, these two things and more helped end the
conflict. All of the things listed above added a benefit for the soldiers fighting and
the rest of the war. In which there was a great impact on how the advancement of
technology had on WWl, giving them a greater chance to win the
Gke4 Task 1
PROBLEM SET 1
Introduction
Throughout this problem set I will analyze the effects of compound interest. I will
start with problem one assessing as to whether or not a Private in my platoon can
afford a brand new vehicle. I will develop a discrete dynamical system to calculate
the amount of capital left in the loan at any given month. To assess if my discrete
dynamical function is accurate I will interpret my model through graphs and make
sure the answer is logical. I will find out how much my soldier can afford and any
other question asked. If this does not coincide with the amount the actual payment
will be I will give him another recommendation.
Question 1A To complete this first question we first had to make some assumptions.
One of the assumptions is that this Private is in fact a PFC, as a PFC he would be
making about $22,165.20 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The givens and assumptions are all of the values included in the above equation. The
equation above also highlights what we needed to find, the discrete dynamical system
, and the plan was to make assumptions, analyze the givens, and substitute all the
given values into the general discrete dynamical system equation. To further
understand the amount the Private will owe over the next year we have made the
following chart. Figure 1. Time series scatter plot of the balance still remaining on a
loan taken out at a 15% interest rate with a monthly payment of $369.42. The figure
above shows that the Private will not be paying enough per month with the $369.42
in order to pay off the loan in the 60 months provided. The interest rate is too high for
the payment amount to pay off the loan balance in time. The graph is diverging from
the initial value, and will eventually pay of the balance, just not in the allotted time
amount. This can be represented through the graph and the following limit notation.

The Help Movie Analysis
The Help Review Racism was and still is a very prevalent problem, especially in
African American communities. The Help, a novel by Kathryn Stockett, represented
racism in the 1960s very well. In 2011, the novel was adapted into a film by Tate
Taylor. The Help is a touching and well written film, that is in some ways better than
the book. In general, the filmThe Helpwould not have been as successful as it was if
it did not have a solid plot line. The movie revolves around the racial issues tackled
by a white twenty year old lady named Eugenia Phelan, known by her friends as
Skeeter, a black maid named Aibileen, and another black maid named Minny. After
being raised in Jackson, Mississippi, an incredibly segregated city during that time,
Skeeter decided to write a book of interviews revealing how life as an African
American was at that time. Even though she was going against social norms and was
eventually outcast by all of her friends, her courage and determination pushed her to
continue writing until the book was published. The plot of the movie was thoroughly
thought out and realistically showed both sides perspectives in Jackson. Although
the plot of the movie was very suitable, the plot of the book was arguably better.
There were a few minor details that added to the characterdevelopment and allowed
the book to be more interesting. For example, in the novel, Celia did not tell
Minny about her pregnancy, which added to the suspense when she had the still
born baby. Although both of the plots were fascinating, the novel s plot was
slightly more comprehensive than the film s, making it stand out more.
Furthermore, the set of The Help played a key role in the storytelling of the movie.
Fancy cars lined the streets and whites only signs dotted the walls. The set spoke
for itself; the humble, squalid homes of The Help paled in comparison to the
extravagance of the white women s homes. They provided an obvious example of
the inequality that took place during the story. Simply put, the hard working help had
much less than the privileged white women, and the sets allowed us to quite easily
visualize the situation. In the film, the racial differences in Jackson do not need to be
described; we can
Hidradenitis Suppurativa Research Paper
Besma Ben Dhaou states that, Hidradenitis Suppurativa (HS) is a chronic,
inflammatory, recurrent, debilitating, skin follicular disease that usually presents
after puberty with painful deep seated lesions in the apocrine gland bearing areas and
the hair follicles, most commonly in the axillary, inguinal, anogenital, breast and
scalp regions (pg.2). It causes lesions (abscesses) and sinus tracts (tunnels) throughout
the hair and apocrine gland bearing areas, that become inflamed and rupture, leaking
pus and blood. It also causes painful scartissue on the skinand under the skin. The
disease was first reported by Aristide Verneuil in 1854 and was called Verneuil s

In my opinion more money needs to be spent on the research. This will lead to
more recognition of the disease. From this, there may be more alternative ways to
treat the disease with more success to cure it rather than manage the disease. I
became interested in this topic because a close friend of mine has the disease and
it is in the Hurley stage III. He has tried medications, surgery to remove the
abscesses in the scalp but it continues to come back with more abscesses, severe
drainage, and scarring. His disease is so severe because it is in the armpits, scalp,
breast, genital and butt regions, which is all the areas affected by the disease.
Some are constantly draining and the drainage gets to sticking into the hairs and
the skin, so you must constantly wash up. It also causes stinging, burning, itching,
and a smelly mess left all over the fabric and his skin. I wanted to what new
information was out there that may help him. Based on my research there is not
much that can be done to prevent the disease except by using antibacterial and
antimicrobial soaps to help kill the bacteria on the surface of the skin. If caught in
the first stages and treated properly it may slow the progression of the disease down
and is easier to treat. There have not been any new medical approaches because it
lacks research, recognition, and
Rwandan Foreign Policy By Exploring And Discussing
How...
This thesis illustrated a new way to better examine Rwandan foreign policy by
exploring and discussing how Rwandan leaders view the international community.
The traditional standard narrative on Rwandan foreign relations focused heavily on
how Rwanda acted with other states, institutions and actors. What was continually
missing within the existing literature was a deep understanding of why Rwandan
leaders interacted in a certain way with the international community. The genocide
guilt card is most notable in this fault as it heavily focused on the explaining the
mechanism of guilting to which the Rwandan government used to gain state interests.
While the guilt card is perhaps the most known narrative of Rwandan foreign policy,
it is not the only one. And such as with the guilting, these other literature sources on
foreign aid, shifting diplomatic alliances and development, do not discuss the
mentality of the Rwandan government with the world. Literature on Rwandas
military, the Rwanda Defence Force, is the closest to uncovering how the country
views the world. However, the analysis is rather limited as the focus is not on
international relations, but on military related subjects. The research presented here
states that Rwandan foreign policy contains complexities of three major themes and
groups. These were identified through interviews and data collected during three
main periods of fieldwork within Rwanda, Washington D.C. and New York by the
Rwandan officials responsible
Punctuality And Its Effects On Our Lives And Functions
On...
Ever since I became an adult, I have struggled to show up on time. I have been
habitually late to appointments, special occasions interviews and even jobs, to name
a few. To make matters even worse, punctuality is listed on my resume. Being late is
obviously highly unfavorable and inconvienient in a world that lives and functions on
schedules, clocksand timezones. A recent survey found 15 to 20 percent of the U.S.
population is consistently late, especially when it comes to work. (ABC) Who are
America s least punctual workers? The poll suggests millennials tend to show up
late more often than older colleagues. 22 percent of them said they arrive late for
work at least once a week compared to just 15 percent of people aged 55 and older.
A mere 38 percent of millennials said they never arrive late for work compared to
55 percent of older workers. Considering the fact that I am a millennial, my
continuous problem with punctuality makes sense. According to the polls, of those
who are late, millenials tend to arrive to work later than people who are older.
According to a recent survey, around 15 to 20 percent of the United States
population struggles with punctuality, especially when it comes to getting to work
on time. Both statistics apply to me as I am a millennial who has been late to work
and late to occasions that were non work related. Although I ve have a recurring
problem with punctuality, this problem can be solved easily. I have been chronically
late ever
Ready Set Identity Crisis In Hamlet Essay
Ready, Set, Identity Crisis: Hamlet s Intellectual Struggle Making decisions is
arguably one of the most difficult parts of life; even the smallest choices can make
a profound change. Because the magnitude of a decision can be so daunting, a
sensible person knows to takes thought before making one. In theory, a sensible
person makes wise decisions as they infer from prior knowledge and predict
various outcomes. However, too much knowledge can be problematic. With
knowledge comes the ability to see from a variety of perspectives, weigh the

this makes our knowledgeable and sensible person unable to make any decision at all

Q Think of a positive event from your childhood. What happened?
In my childhood I was literally a child with a really bad attitude and nature. I didn t

not get panic in such situations instead I choose to be patient and I always try to

what I think does affect me.

A Bug s Life Through the Lens of Karl Marx
A Bug s Life through the lens of Karl Marx
Disney s Pixar film, A Bug s Life, is much more than meets the eye. The film is not
only an animated comedy; it holds deep sociological theory within its plot. Many of
the major themes and concepts of the movie can be viewed through the lens of the
famous theorist Karl Marx. Marx s theory is famous for focusing on how society
functions. In particular he concerns himself with how capitalism, the working class,
and the revolutions create problems in our society. My paper will analyze how
Marxian theory and concepts fit into major climactic scenes of the film.
The film revolves around the protagonist Filk, a worker ant. The colony is being
oppressed by a group of grasshoppers and their leader Hopper. The grasshoppers
claim they will provide protection as long as the ants provide the food supply.
When the ants cannot supply the food for the grasshoppers, Hopper demands the
ants to produce twice as much food as they did before. As a result, the ants will not
have enough food to store up for themselves. Filk then travels to recruit warrior bugs
to help the ants fight off the grasshoppers. According to Marx, this would free the
colony from the constant oppression of the grasshoppers.
The major themes of the movie follow Marxian theory. The first relates to Hopper
and how the grasshoppers abuse their power and exploit the ant colony. The
grasshoppers expect food knowing that the ants cannot
The Business Judgment Rule Has Served For Decades As
The...
The business judgment rule has served for decades as the most important protection
against personal liability for directors and officers. And it also has been criticized
frequently as providing too much protection for the directors and officers of
corporations. It is the time for some changes to be made to business judgment rule. A:
Economic Environment Changes The business judgment rule is designed to prevent
courts from second guessing the quality of a decision, which made by directors and
officers. Because the modern organizational structure of corporations allows
shareholders, who actually own the corporationto elect a board of directors to manage
the corporation, these directors and officers have more business experience and are
more familiar with the needs, strengths, and limitations of the corporation than
shareholders and the courts. Therefore the business judgment rule recognizes that
the directors and officers are best able to make business judgments. The business
judgment rule originated in 1945 in Otis Co. v. Pennsylvania R. Co [2], the
corporate directors were sued because they only dealing with one investment house
and not shop around for the best possible price available in the sale of securities.
The federal district court held that the directors chose the wrong course of action in
good faith therefore do not subject to liability for negligence in the discharge of their
appointed duties. This case offers two primary

there is absence of alarm system.
While using security camera, privacy is at issue. There is no good law to protect us

Sony s Life As We Know It
Sony was founded by Honorary Chairman Akio Morita. Sony has changed everyone
s life as we know it. Sony has produced everything from batteries to the new next
generation console, the PlayStation 4. From CD Rom games, to digital cameras and
camcorders, Sony is moving the world into a new generation of electronics, games
and music.
It all began in 1988 when Sony and Nintendo teamed up and tried to make a sequel
to the Super Nintendo. They called this the Super Disk. They wanted to do this
because this is the next step for gaming and it was also much cheaper to create.
Nintendo soon figured out that Sony would get all of the rights and credits to all the
games so Nintendo decided to leave side from Sony. This is what encouraged Sony
to keep pushing the CD idea. In 1996, the PlayStation was invented.
First we will start with Sony PlayStation s first CD Rom invention, The PlayStation
One a.k.a PS X or PS1. When Sony introduced this system to the world, people
went crazy. People had new favorite games to play going from the Crash Bandicoot
series to Spyro the Dragon and even Professional Wrestling. The Playstation One is
where video gaming had its big step up. Not only the invention of a CD Rom
playing console, but the making of a whole new controller. This controller was
different for any other controller for two main reasons, its shape and size. PS1 s
controller was the first 3D playing controller in the world. Nintendo s controllers
were flat which went with their 2D
I Love The Way You Lie Analysis
After specific examination, I found that a rather catchy pop song, in fact, had a
deeper and darker theme to it because of the issues referenced within. Clear up until
now, I never clearly understood what was happening in the catchy pop song, I Love
the Way You Lie by Eminem and Rihanna. I knew nothing of the toxic and abusive
relationship told in the song. To me Lovethe Way You Lie was a simple pop song
with: a catchy chorus, repetitive beat, and an unintelligible rap part that seemed to
slur together. The song had no meaning, there was nothing that stuck out to me.
Though after thorough examination, I found that my current opinions on the song
were false. In truth, this song had a deep and darker meaning to it. During the song,

Profession Of Arms Essay
What does it mean to be a Profession of Arms?
Professionalism can be deemed as a single individual or body of individuals seeking
to perfect their expertise or field of choice. Although professions are oftentimes
motivated by higher salaries, promotions, and benefits, throughout the Army it
appears to be more of a vow or calling. As a Human Resources Sergeant in the
Profession of Arms, we are not only responsible for yielding support that affects
soldiers and their overall well being but also in aiding them with the training and
knowledge that keeps them combat ready and effective. This amplifies the role of any
Human Resources Sergeant, thus increasing the importance of their roles in the
Profession of Arms.
A profession can simply be noted as an occupation, but in many cases, being a
Human Resources Sergeant in the Army supersedes the duties of just any
occupation. The Army s role as an American Profession of Arms provides an entire
nation with security, fields of expertise, and most importantly its effectiveness. This
can be justified through the hard work and dedication it takes to sacrifice one s life
for the safety and well being of the nation as a whole.

Software Localization Strategies
2. LOCALIZATION STRATEGIES
There are two possible strategies for software localization as:
2.1. For designing a new localized software product
This strategy based on designing and developing a software product according to
specific culture from scratch. Developer can put every resources needed for localized
software product in some type of resource repository. This repository may be
Windows resource files, .NET assemble files, or a database. This resource repository
is easily editable, and also eliminates the need for source code recompiling.
2.2. For localizing an already existing software product
Here it is assumed that the source code (in the source language) for the software
product to be localized is already available. This strategy reuses the existing
software product for the target locale. The localization tool explained in this paper
is based on this strategy. Programmer has the code of notepad software (available in
English) and this code pass as input test case to the tool.
3. SERVICE ORIENTED ARCHITECTURE
Service oriented architecture is software architecture design pattern that provide
application functionality as services, known as Service orientation. Similar to cloud
computing in SOA services are shared and there exists a cloud of services. Hence
SOA based on the concept of cloud computing. Cloud computing used to describe a
variety of different types of computing concepts that involve a large number of
computers connected through a real time communication

Since the initial post on August 30th 2014, the Facebook page Classical Art Memes

The word meme was coined in 1976 by biologist Richard Dawkins in his book The
Selfish Gene. The word is meant to describe something that is transmitted in any
way other than genetically. According to Dawkins, the word meme isn t
necessarily intended to be used exclusively for scientific purposes. Examples of
memes, Dawkins writes, are tunes, ideas, catch phrases, clothes, fashions, ways of
making pots or of building arches. Just as genes propagate themselves in the gene
pool by leaping from body to body via sperms or eggs, so memes propagate
themselves in the meme pool by leaping from brain to brain via a process which, in
the broad sense, can be called imitation. Perhaps, if Dawkins book had been
published after the advent of the internet, he would have mentioned the internet as
a place for information to travel in the form of memes. In 1996, Richard Brodie, a
contemporary of Dawkins further expanded Dawkins definition in his book Virus of
the Mind: The New Science of the Meme. Brodie s succinct definition states: A
meme is an idea, the kind of complex idea that forms itself into a distinct memorable
unit. It is spread by vehicles that are physical manifestations of the meme. As the
internet was still in its infantile stage, it s unlikely that Brodie knew what the idea of
a meme would become, yet his expanded definition of the meme better
The Body In Blade Runner
This essay will discuss the representation of the body in Blade Runner because in
discussing the effects of something yet to happen which is the dystopia presented by
Blade Runner, in the present tense i.e. in assuming that it has already happened, we
gain a greater insight and understanding of the consequences of our actions as a
society now. Dystopic films and novels such as Blade Runner, Nineteen Eighty Four
and Brave New World are invaluable as texts which have tied together philosophical,
political, sociological and economic lines of enquiry and have presented ideas of our
future and perhaps sometimes warnings about where a certain path might lead. I have
chosen Blade Runner as my study text because it presents a future that is... Show

Picasso Female Complex
Pablo Picasso: The Female Complex Many artists develop their works from their
most compelling moments in life, whether they are filled with excruciating pain or
unspeakable joy. Pablo Picasso creates work based on a multitude of influences in
his life, from the suicide of his best friend to the rising of his career (Bio). However,
a single theme reoccurs throughout his life that most would argue causes him to
create some of the greatest paintings of his time: women. Critics shaped the different
phases of his art into periods such as the Blue Period, Rose Period, CubismPeriod,
Surrealist Period, and Self Portrait Period (Bio). His art was manipulated based on
the dominant state of mind he was in during these stages of life, and many of the
emotions had to do with the women he was involved with at the time. Though one
might think that an artist who places such a passionate focus on women must
deeply admire and respect them, Picasso does not fit into this standard. He actually
felt a very strong sense of superiority to females, painting them as objects: cold,
faceless, and purely created for sexual satisfaction (Withers 1). However, evidence
strongly suggests that he probably feared them more than anything else. Every
single one of his periods of art are heavily ruled by paintings of women, particularly
nude, that tell a story about an experience he had; if he was so affected by women
that he spent countless hours painting about it, there had to have been more going on

Patriotism In The Film Mr. Smith Goes To Washington
In the current political climate, anything said against the government is deemed
unpatriotic by certain areas of the culture. Patriotism is bandied about as a
necessity by some, and derided completely by others. But what is true patriotism,
and how necessary is it? The film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, made in 1939,
was originally condemned for being unpatriotic as it showed the ugly side of
American democratic politics at a time where democracies were falling all over
Europe. However, the film presents a different view of patriotismthat supports the
most important part of democracy; the people. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington clearly
demonstrates the failures and problems in American democracy, but paints
protagonist Jefferson Smith as extremely patriotic, illustrating that patriotism is not a
blind stubborn belief that a country is right all of the time, but a wholehearted
passion for making said country a better place. This view of patriotism may have
seemed critical in 1939, but the movie effectively shows how the citizens really are
the most important part of a democracy, and how they can rail against political
corruptionto truly create a better country. When protagonist Jefferson Smith very
suddenly becomes a US Senator, he is portrayed as the perfect example of nominal
patriotism. He has several speeches by Washington and Lincoln memorized, is the
leader of a group of what are basically Boy Scouts, and spends his first day in
Washington DC in awe of the monuments.
Causes Of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Obsessive compulsive disorder, commonly known as OCD, is a common disorder
shared by many people. It is an anxiety disorder caused by unreasonable obsessive
fears that causes a person to engage in repetitive behaviors, which are called
compulsions. The most common instinct for people diagnosed with OCD is to ignore
the obsessions and try to avoid the compulsions, but doing so only increases anxiety.
So, performing these acts satisfies the feelings of stress. Some symptoms of OCD
include; turning light switches on and off multiple times, washing hands excessively,
sorting things with an organized manner, etc. These obsessive fears and compulsions,
in time, may turn into rituals for the person that obtains the disorder. These rituals
end up having a negative impact on relationships with friends, family, and
coworkers. OCD also gets in the way of simple daily tasks. There are many types,

Kate Chopin s The Awakening
For Centuries, man has been caught in the middle of a tug of war between two
influences. One influence stems from society, an Apollonian lifestyle of order,
structure, responsibility, while the other is the individual s inner Dionysian desire for
indulgence, impulsiveness, freedom. In Kate Chopin s novella The Awakening,
Chopin depicts Apollonian and Dionysian values through the description of certain
settings and characters, while also depicting the dramatic inner battle that the
protagonist, Edna Pontellier, experiences between these two influences. By showing
the pull that Edna feels between the societal Apollonian lifestyle of structure and
confinement versus the individual based Dionysian lifestyle of freedom, Chopin

Chopin, by including Apollonian and Dionysian symbols throughout the novel,
and by detailing the pull Edna feels between the two lifestyle, depicts Edna as
having a choice in living an Apollonian or a Dionysian life, and, thereby, depicts
that all women of her time have this choice as well. The overarching theme of The
Awakening is that women in society must make one of two distinct choices the
choice to live according to society or the choice to live with individuality. Edna is
constantly presented with two opposing choices and feels the conflict created
from the pull of both within her; eventually, she makes her choice. Edna s distinct
choice leads to a distinct path. Therefore, not only is every woman presented with
two distinct choices, but those two choices lead to two distinct paths of life. If a

Advantages Of Reconstruction Sharecropping
One failure of Reconstruction would be sharecropping. After the Civil War ended,
slaves were formally emancipated. Most of them, however, did not have any skills
aside from farm work, so wealthy white farmers allowed poor Americans (mainly
blacks) to work on their farms in exchange for part of the crop. While this seems
like a great idea, in reality most plantation owners took advantage of their workers.
From Rebuilding the Old Order, paragraph 2 states, SHARECROPPERS often
found themselves in debt, for they had to borrow on bad terms and had to pay
excessively for basic supplies. When the harvest came, if the debt exceeded harvest
revenues, the sharecropper remained bound to the owner. That sort of sounds like
another form of slavery,

The Importance Of Happiness Is The Key To A Perfect Life
I once was told by my mother, happiness is the key to a perfect life . Throughout
my life, I have carried that statement in my heart. Those few words have taught me
how valuable the little things in life truly are. Some of the little things in life that
allow me to be the happiest person I can be are the following: My boyfriend
Dominic, family, my dog Riley, and Netflix. Dominic brings out my happinessby
always makes sure I don t go a minute without smiling. If it wasn t for my family, I
wouldn t be where I am today and I m incredibly happy with how much they push
me to be the best I can be. When I m sad, my dog always knows how to cheer me up
by licking my tears away or she lays next to me and watches Netflix. Netflix makes
me happy due to the fact that I don t have to do anything but lay back and enjoy a
funny movie or show with the people I love. These things are what make my world
go around every day.
Anytime that I am feeling stressed or down, Netflix cheers me up. Netflix allows
me to sit back and relax. Watching the tv provider, allows me to forget all my
problems, and allows me to watch other people have problems. Netflix to me is
like a bottle of milk to a baby because its calms me down, takes the stress away, and
overall just makes me a happier person. The best part about watching Netflix is when
my dog Riley lays next to me to watch the other animals on the tv.
The best part of life, is owning an animal. Animals, such as dogs, are proven to help
relieve stress
The Sense Of Sight In Emily Dickinson s Before I Got It Out
The speaker sees the sense of sight in many different ways. Some get used to the
darkness while others don t. Others view the darkness differently. In Emily
Dickinsons poems, Before I got my eye put out, and We grow accustomed to the
dark, they show different ways people view their loss of sight. People either adapt
to life without their sight or they live life unhappily or bitter. In Before I got my
eye put out, Dickinson says that sight is very important. Dickinson is sad when
she reflects on the loss of her sight. She compares when she used to be able to see
to how other sighted creatures uses their sight. Dickinson frequently reflects about
all the things she used to be able to see. She now feels a bit dead. This is because
she used to be able to see whatever she wanted whenever she wanted. She misses
being able to see the sunrise, birds flying, and the colors of the world. She wrote
this to tell people to not take what they have for granted. She also wrote this poem to

everything worked out just fine for that time, was probably the very thing that made
it pass the window of serious concern. Knowing how this has worked into my own
life has actually revealed how the fatigue could be burning professional drivers out.
The thought of professional drivers travelling in a state of fatigue definitely opens
the door to danger for both the public and themselves. There was a time when I
thought about how much it meant to arrive alive and that no load is worth risking
that. Anytime that I had felt too tired to continue, the next safe location to stop for
adequate rest took place after thinking about the risk to others and self. How
important would it be to get other professional drivers to feel the same would depend
upon just how stubborn they are. The experiences could be different with each type
of person, and those with the strength mentally combining the inner will would most
likely solve the problem in self.

the Esplanade Steps Premier Grandstand Seats were priced at $2,588 as it offered a
bevy of services ranging from exclusive gifts to premium meal services and a
complimentary open bar. Although there is extra cost for providing these services,
the ticket price reflected is not proportionate to these costs. As such product form
pricing is clearly highlighted.

Image pricing is the pricing of the same product at 2 different levels based on the
image differences.
Singapore GP Pte Ltd sold suite tickets which are relatively more expensive as
there is an air of prestige surrounding suite tickets when compared to the other
tickets. Consumers must pay the $6,955 price tag in order to be holders of suite
class tickets. Even though it might seem cheaper that the Esplanade Steps Premier
Grandstand Seat tickets because it is a three day pass, consumers have no option in
getting a one day pass and therefore is actually forced to pay more. The services
provided for suite ticket holders are even lesser than the Esplanade Steps Premier

However, suites are considered the best seats in almost all sporting events not
because of its location but because of its price tag and reputation. Therefore using
Freud s Theory Of The Oedipus Complex By Sigmund
Freud
INTRODUCTION
Oedipus Complex
The Oedipus complex otherwise called mother fixation is a mental inclination of a
man. This term is used by Sigmund Freud as a part of his hypothesis of
Psychosexual Stages of Development to depict a kid s emotions of yearning for
his mother and jealousy and outrage towards his father. Basically, a kid feels like
he is in rivalry with his father for possession of his mother. He sees his father as a
rival for her considerations and affections.
Greek Mythology
Oedipus King is about the story of Oedipus who murders his father and weds his
mother, which is the prototype of the Oedipus complex in Psychology. The
protagonist or the hero of the tragedy is the child of King Laius and Queen Jocasta
of Thebes. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lawrence portrays Mrs Morel s turning to her children particularly to Paul as an
exceptionally unpredictable and uncommon procedure. Lawrence alongside
portraying the unpredictable and abnormal connection also finds numerous unusual
factors behind this bizarre connection. Among all the factors, the most well known
one is Mrs. Morel s moving her fascination or desire from spouse to child which
was the result of the bizarre relation or mismatch between her spouse in regards to
character, family status, training, keenness and so on. While she is an exceedingly
religious lady, her spouse is hard lush, her refined way additionally negates with his
profanity. The marriage life of Mrs. Morel is actually loaded with clashes and
disappointments. Their marriage life has been one carnal bloody fight. (Lawrence,
D.H. 1985) Along with the mental tormenting Mr. Morel also frequently beats her
seriously and puts her out of home. The mother is unsatisfied and angry with the coal
miner, because he not only fails to live up to her bourgeois idea, but also hurts her in
body and mind (Lawrence, D.H. 1985). All these stinging and anguishing certainties

The Arduous Journey Of Discovering Antonio s Destiny
I decided that The Arduous Journey to Discovering Antonio s Destiny is a decent,
exceptional title for my paper, because it gives a brief description on what my paper
will be about, Antonio s expedition on finding his destiny.
1 ВЅ ) When reading over the assignment rubric, I noticed a few errors. One being
in question number 1, where it says, How are Samuel, Antonio, and Cico different?
. Instead of saying are you would say is. Is is singular while are is plural, and since it
s talking about each individual, it would make it singular. 2) Antonio and Cico just
saw a golden carp, which is a pagan god according to Samuel. Witnessing it strongly
impacted Antonio, since actually seeing it was as splendid and impressive as the
Catholic God. Previously observing Ultima s magic and just the thought of the carp
really shows to Tony that there is more to life than what he s been taught from
church and his mother. After confronting the carp, Antonio realizes that Ultima was
able to do things his Catholic god couldn t, revealing that he would never be
fulfilled by his Catholic faith. His friends Samuel and Cico are all different from
each other. Antonio is a Catholic, Samuel tells Antonio about the carp, and Cico
believes in many gods, like the golden carp, and shows it Antonio.
3) In the setting of the novel, it seemed as if the boys and girls were separated in a
way, because the girls had to stay confined indoors while the boys had to go outside,

Alain De Botton Essay
The progression of humanity has inevitably been motivated by a desire to find
meaning in life, and grasp a greater understanding of powerful concepts, which has
underpinned religious and non religious world views throughout history. These
concepts in both religious and non religious belief systems require the close
examination of various new religious expressions, as well as an equal understanding
of the religious dimension in humanhistory. Atheist philosopher Alain de Botton,
explores how humans find meaning in life through individual fulfilment and
monotheistic religious concepts; as appose to theologist John Stackhouse, who in
contrast, looks at the human search for meaning throughout theistic views. The
expression of polytheistic views... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These alternative faiths are favourable for those who have had dissatisfaction in
traditional religious expressions, but still wish to seek personal fulfilment in their
lives. Rastafari is an example of a new religious expression that aids its African
adherents in the search for personal fulfilment through the ideas of black supremacy
and the back to Africa movement. Rastafarians lead an alternative lifestyle, with
dietary customs of being vegetarian or vegan, using drugs such as cannabis and not
cutting any of their body hair. Alain de Botton states that we should be able to pick
and choose from religion (de Botton, 2012, ABC), which is relevant to the concept
that humanity is entitled to both agree and disagree with certain components of
religion that benefit their personal fulfilment. As appose to traditional religious that
are bound by time consuming rules, new religious expressions are able to adapt and
respond quickly to social pressuring issues . (Hartney, 2011, ch. 16). The inability for
traditional religious to adapt to an individual, oriented society has given rise to new
religious expressions and spiritualities to contribute to humanities search for personal
fulfilment and meaning in a modern day
Victoria Secret Mission Statement
ictoria s Secret is the leading specialty store for women s intimate clothing. The
company was founded in 1977 by Roy Raymond in Palo Alto, California. Raymond
came up with the idea of Victoria s Secret one day when he walked into a store to
purchase intimate wear for his wife and felt uncomfortable and judged by the
associates. Therefore, he decided to open a store providing intimate wear, targeting
males who want to purchase the apparel for their loved ones. The initial theme
throughout the store illustrates the Victorian boudoir, evoking individuals to
associate the brand with the Victorian Era and the reason behind the name Victoria s
Secret.
During the first five years, Victoria s Secret was a huge success, resulting in three

Victoria s Secret wanted to focus and expand their sportswear, which meant they had
to eliminate a product from their stores. Further, they decided to discontinue their
swimwear line in 2016, which generated $500 million in yearly sales and about 6.5%
of the business. During the same time, they stopped producing catalogs, eliminating a
channel of distribution. By discontinuing swimwear and eliminating the catalog, they
lost almost $1 billion in sales and lost market shares due to unsatisfied customers.
Danelle Adelphia, the store manager at the Victoria s Secret Burr Ridge location, has
been with the company for six years. Throughout the years she has seen distinct
changes in the layout of the stores and how Victoria s Secret is inspiring the customer
to purchase more. Victoria s Secret is continuously changing the layout, visuals, and
products; inspiring the customer to expand their bra, lingerie, Pink, sport, and beauty
wardrobe. Although, the company has been experiencing decreasing sales, Adelphia
believes the forever changing company will positively impact the stores

Family Relationship Essay

  • 1. Family Relationship Essay Crafting an essay on the theme of family relationships can be both a rewarding and challenging endeavor. On one hand, the subject matter is deeply personal and relatable, offering a rich tapestry of emotions, experiences, and dynamics to explore. However, this very familiarity can make it challenging to approach the topic with the required depth and objectivity. The difficulty lies in striking the right balance between personal anecdotes and broader societal perspectives. It demands a delicate dance between introspection and research, as delving too much into one's personal experiences may risk becoming overly subjective, while a lack of personal connection can result in a detached and impersonal piece. Furthermore, the complexity of familial relationships adds an additional layer of challenge. The intricate web of emotions, expectations, and evolving dynamics within a family necessitates a nuanced understanding. Capturing the essence of these relationships requires not only a keen observational eye but also the ability to navigate the delicate terrain of familial complexities. Moreover, maintaining a coherent structure throughout the essay becomes crucial. It involves organizing thoughts in a logical sequence that allows readers to follow the narrative without getting lost in the intricacies of the familial web. Finding the right words to express the depth of emotions and the evolution of relationships over time adds yet another layer of difficulty. In essence, writing an essay on family relationships demands a delicate blend of personal reflection, research, and the art of storytelling. It requires the writer to navigate the fine line between the subjective and the objective, all while weaving a compelling narrative that resonates with readers on a universal level. For those seeking assistance with such endeavors or similar writing tasks, there are resources available. Websites like HelpWriting.net offer a range of writing services, providing support for crafting essays, research papers, and more. • 3. Pros And Cons Of Living At Home Vs Living On Campus Almost every new coming freshman face the choice of living at home or living on campus during the start of their college career. For most college students it is an easy compromise to move away from home, while for others it really makes no sense. The change from home life to dorm life generates a major step for some students. Living at home versus living on campus comes with many advantages and disadvantages. These include money, convenience, and time. Living at home can be both a positive and negative aspect of one s life. Students choosing to live at home have an advantage of money problems since living on campus is not cheap. Usually, staying with your parents is cheaper than staying in a dorm room. The cost of a dorm room can be as much as the cost of the college. The students cannot negotiate the price of the on campus dorms, and if a resident did not pay for the next year of housing, they could potentially be kicked out. Whereas, living at home, no parent would kick out their child and they would not have to worry about paying rent. Students would also save a boatload of money on the cost of food and supplies. Their parents would pay for the food in the house and any necessity that would be required. This includes doing laundry, cooking homemade meals, or an unlimited amount of time in the shower. In most cases, the fire department that is responsible for the installation and looking over of traffic signals is also responsible for the fixing equipment that is installed at intersections, however the fire department may be responsible for testing and reporting any system malfunctions. Emergency vehicle drivers should be required to follow very specific procedures when systems are in use. The driver must not exceed a speed that will trigger the system to turn on and make the traffic signals turn green before the emergency vehicle arrives at the intersection. Once the light becomes green, if the path is clear, the emergency vehicle should go through the intersection at the speed limit or slower, although the driver must always be prepared for the unpredictable actions of other drivers. The emergency vehicle driver must also be prepared to stop if the system does not function properly. The driver must not approach an intersection while going too fast to stop because if the light turns green for the other side and the cars move then they can get in an accident (the second leading cause of death for firefighters). A very dangerous crash can happen when two fire service veichles approach an intersection at the same time from different directions. Fatal crashes between emergency vehicles have happened in these circumstances. All traffic signal systems are designed so that one vehicle will have full control of the intersection, the first signal from the first truck will be accepted and the signal from the other will be rejected. If a system fails to provide a green signal as a fire service vehicle approaches, the driver must assume that another emergency vehicle will be coming through the intersection and the other vehicle has the green light. Some systems provide special lights at the intersection to advise an approaching
  • 5. Dog Vs Pig As A Pet Dog vs Pig as a Pet Choosing a pet should never be a snap decision; as one of the airmen from my old squadron learned after he bought a potbellied pig. The airmen come into the section with a bandage across his nose and bruising below his eyes. When I asked him what happened, he proceeded to tell me about his morning. His pig was an incredibly busy little pig during the night; he piled the area rugs from the house into the hallway, which had been laid out to prevent the pig from sliding on the laminate floor. The next morning the pig stood by his dish and squealed like he was in trouble or dying. The airmen came running down the hallway in a half asleep daze, tripping over the pile of area rugs landing on his face. The airmen said the pig stopped squealing and walked up to him and sat down; as if to say I m hungry! The airmen said he looked at the pig and said Why did I pay $2300 for you; all you are is a miserable little turd. I think, I should have stuck with a dog. Both dogs and pigs can make a great pet, but the proper selection rests on the owner s lifestyle, finances, and living arrangements. Dogs can make a minimal impact on an owner s lifestyle, once trained, they can be very obedient and shows unconditional love for their owners, such as greeting them at the door. Most can be left for the day without worry as to what they are going to do while the owners are gone. Then, if a person travels and can t take the dog, they can be boarded at a kennel for a week or

If I wanted a picture I d buy a painting. The second part is where the fun part actually starts, you re going to add one or two heaping spoonfuls of regular white frosting to the crumbled up cake you have. Keep adding frosting until you get the consistency pretty doughy, but still firm enough to handle. After kneeding the dough thoroughly you re going to want to roll the dough out inch size balls. A normal box of cake mix should make about 20 cake pops. After all the balls are rolled out, they should go in the fridge or freezer for about a half an hour to help them set. After those agonizing thirty minutes are up, you re able to take the cake pops out of the refrigerator or freezer, and then melt some almond bark. After dipping the stick in the almond bark, you re going to want to stick it about halfway through the now official cake pop . The chocolate on the stick is to help the stick stay sturdy while you actually eat the sweet treat. When you ve finished putting the sticks into each of the cake balls, you should put them back into the refrigerator in order to help the chocolate solidify. Transition: The last part we re going to focus on is probably the most simple. Decorating the cake pop. Using the previously melted almond bark, you can simply dip the cake pop in and spread a thin layer of chocolate all around the pop. While the chocolate is still wet, feel free to decorate in any way you d like. For today I just used simple sprinkles but there

I will start with problem one assessing as to whether or not a Private in my platoon can afford a brand new vehicle. I will develop a discrete dynamical system to calculate the amount of capital left in the loan at any given month. To assess if my discrete dynamical function is accurate I will interpret my model through graphs and make sure the answer is logical. I will find out how much my soldier can afford and any other question asked. If this does not coincide with the amount the actual payment will be I will give him another recommendation. Question 1A To complete this first question we first had to make some assumptions. One of the assumptions is that this Private is in fact a PFC, as a PFC he would be making about $22,165.20 ... The equation above also highlights what we needed to find, the discrete dynamical system , and the plan was to make assumptions, analyze the givens, and substitute all the given values into the general discrete dynamical system equation. To further understand the amount the Private will owe over the next year we have made the following chart. Figure 1. Time series scatter plot of the balance still remaining on a loan taken out at a 15% interest rate with a monthly payment of $369.42. The figure above shows that the Private will not be paying enough per month with the $369.42 in order to pay off the loan in the 60 months provided. The interest rate is too high for the payment amount to pay off the loan balance in time. The graph is diverging from the initial value, and will eventually pay of the balance, just not in the allotted time amount. This can be represented through the graph and the following limit notation.

  • 12. The Help Movie Analysis The Help Review Racism was and still is a very prevalent problem, especially in African American communities. The Help, a novel by Kathryn Stockett, represented racism in the 1960s very well. In 2011, the novel was adapted into a film by Tate Taylor. The Help is a touching and well written film, that is in some ways better than the book. In general, the filmThe Helpwould not have been as successful as it was if it did not have a solid plot line. The movie revolves around the racial issues tackled by a white twenty year old lady named Eugenia Phelan, known by her friends as Skeeter, a black maid named Aibileen, and another black maid named Minny. After being raised in Jackson, Mississippi, an incredibly segregated city during that time, Skeeter decided to write a book of interviews revealing how life as an African American was at that time. Even though she was going against social norms and was eventually outcast by all of her friends, her courage and determination pushed her to continue writing until the book was published. The plot of the movie was thoroughly thought out and realistically showed both sides perspectives in Jackson. Although the plot of the movie was very suitable, the plot of the book was arguably better. There were a few minor details that added to the characterdevelopment and allowed the book to be more interesting. For example, in the novel, Celia did not tell Minny about her pregnancy, which added to the suspense when she had the still born baby. Although both of the plots were fascinating, the novel s plot was slightly more comprehensive than the film s, making it stand out more. Furthermore, the set of The Help played a key role in the storytelling of the movie. Fancy cars lined the streets and whites only signs dotted the walls. The set spoke for itself; the humble, squalid homes of The Help paled in comparison to the extravagance of the white women s homes. They provided an obvious example of the inequality that took place during the story. Simply put, the hard working help had much less than the privileged white women, and the sets allowed us to quite easily visualize the situation. In the film, the racial differences in Jackson do not need to be described; we can

This thesis illustrated a new way to better examine Rwandan foreign policy by exploring and discussing how Rwandan leaders view the international community. The traditional standard narrative on Rwandan foreign relations focused heavily on how Rwanda acted with other states, institutions and actors. What was continually missing within the existing literature was a deep understanding of why Rwandan leaders interacted in a certain way with the international community. The genocide guilt card is most notable in this fault as it heavily focused on the explaining the mechanism of guilting to which the Rwandan government used to gain state interests. While the guilt card is perhaps the most known narrative of Rwandan foreign policy, it is not the only one. And such as with the guilting, these other literature sources on foreign aid, shifting diplomatic alliances and development, do not discuss the mentality of the Rwandan government with the world. Literature on Rwandas military, the Rwanda Defence Force, is the closest to uncovering how the country views the world. However, the analysis is rather limited as the focus is not on international relations, but on military related subjects. The research presented here states that Rwandan foreign policy contains complexities of three major themes and groups. These were identified through interviews and data collected during three main periods of fieldwork within Rwanda, Washington D.C. and New York by the Rwandan officials responsible

Being late is obviously highly unfavorable and inconvienient in a world that lives and functions on schedules, clocksand timezones. A recent survey found 15 to 20 percent of the U.S. population is consistently late, especially when it comes to work. (ABC) Who are America s least punctual workers? The poll suggests millennials tend to show up late more often than older colleagues. 22 percent of them said they arrive late for work at least once a week compared to just 15 percent of people aged 55 and older. A mere 38 percent of millennials said they never arrive late for work compared to 55 percent of older workers. Considering the fact that I am a millennial, my continuous problem with punctuality makes sense. According to the polls, of those who are late, millenials tend to arrive to work later than people who are older. The film is not only an animated comedy; it holds deep sociological theory within its plot. Many of the major themes and concepts of the movie can be viewed through the lens of the famous theorist Karl Marx. Marx s theory is famous for focusing on how society functions. In particular he concerns himself with how capitalism, the working class, and the revolutions create problems in our society. My paper will analyze how Marxian theory and concepts fit into major climactic scenes of the film. The film revolves around the protagonist Filk, a worker ant. The colony is being oppressed by a group of grasshoppers and their leader Hopper. The grasshoppers claim they will provide protection as long as the ants provide the food supply. When the ants cannot supply the food for the grasshoppers, Hopper demands the ants to produce twice as much food as they did before. As a result, the ants will not have enough food to store up for themselves. Filk then travels to recruit warrior bugs to help the ants fight off the grasshoppers. According to Marx, this would free the colony from the constant oppression of the grasshoppers. The major themes of the movie follow Marxian theory. The first relates to Hopper and how the grasshoppers abuse their power and exploit the ant colony. The grasshoppers expect food knowing that the ants cannot

The business judgment rule has served for decades as the most important protection against personal liability for directors and officers. And it also has been criticized frequently as providing too much protection for the directors and officers of corporations. It is the time for some changes to be made to business judgment rule. A: Economic Environment Changes The business judgment rule is designed to prevent courts from second guessing the quality of a decision, which made by directors and officers. Because the modern organizational structure of corporations allows shareholders, who actually own the corporationto elect a board of directors to manage the corporation, these directors and officers have more business experience and are more familiar with the needs, strengths, and limitations of the corporation than shareholders and the courts. Therefore the business judgment rule recognizes that the directors and officers are best able to make business judgments. The business judgment rule originated in 1945 in Otis Co. v. Pennsylvania R. It all began in 1988 when Sony and Nintendo teamed up and tried to make a sequel to the Super Nintendo. They called this the Super Disk. They wanted to do this because this is the next step for gaming and it was also much cheaper to create. Nintendo soon figured out that Sony would get all of the rights and credits to all the games so Nintendo decided to leave side from Sony. This is what encouraged Sony to keep pushing the CD idea. The word is meant to describe something that is transmitted in any way other than genetically. According to Dawkins, the word meme isn t necessarily intended to be used exclusively for scientific purposes. Examples of memes, Dawkins writes, are tunes, ideas, catch phrases, clothes, fashions, ways of making pots or of building arches. Just as genes propagate themselves in the gene pool by leaping from body to body via sperms or eggs, so memes propagate themselves in the meme pool by leaping from brain to brain via a process which, in the broad sense, can be called imitation. Perhaps, if Dawkins book had been published after the advent of the internet, he would have mentioned the internet as a place for information to travel in the form of memes. In 1996, Richard Brodie, a contemporary of Dawkins further expanded Dawkins definition in his book Virus of the Mind: The New Science of the Meme. Brodie s succinct definition states: A meme is an idea, the kind of complex idea that forms itself into a distinct memorable unit. It is spread by vehicles that are physical manifestations of the meme. As the internet was still in its infantile stage, it s unlikely that Brodie knew what the idea of a meme would become, yet his expanded definition of the meme better

Picasso Female Complex Pablo Picasso: The Female Complex Many artists develop their works from their most compelling moments in life, whether they are filled with excruciating pain or unspeakable joy. Pablo Picasso creates work based on a multitude of influences in his life, from the suicide of his best friend to the rising of his career (Bio). However, a single theme reoccurs throughout his life that most would argue causes him to create some of the greatest paintings of his time: women. Critics shaped the different phases of his art into periods such as the Blue Period, Rose Period, CubismPeriod, Surrealist Period, and Self Portrait Period (Bio). His art was manipulated based on the dominant state of mind he was in during these stages of life, and many of the emotions had to do with the women he was involved with at the time. Though one might think that an artist who places such a passionate focus on women must deeply admire and respect them, Picasso does not fit into this standard. He actually felt a very strong sense of superiority to females, painting them as objects: cold, faceless, and purely created for sexual satisfaction (Withers 1). However, evidence strongly suggests that he probably feared them more than anything else. Every single one of his periods of art are heavily ruled by paintings of women, particularly nude, that tell a story about an experience he had; if he was so affected by women that he spent countless hours painting about it, there had to have been more going on

Patriotism is bandied about as a necessity by some, and derided completely by others. But what is true patriotism, and how necessary is it? The film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, made in 1939, was originally condemned for being unpatriotic as it showed the ugly side of American democratic politics at a time where democracies were falling all over Europe. However, the film presents a different view of patriotismthat supports the most important part of democracy; the people. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington clearly demonstrates the failures and problems in American democracy, but paints protagonist Jefferson Smith as extremely patriotic, illustrating that patriotism is not a blind stubborn belief that a country is right all of the time, but a wholehearted passion for making said country a better place. This view of patriotism may have seemed critical in 1939, but the movie effectively shows how the citizens really are the most important part of a democracy, and how they can rail against political corruptionto truly create a better country. When protagonist Jefferson Smith very suddenly becomes a US Senator, he is portrayed as the perfect example of nominal patriotism. He has several speeches by Washington and Lincoln memorized, is the leader of a group of what are basically Boy Scouts, and spends his first day in Washington DC in awe of the monuments.
