For a concept to be Psychosocial means it relates to
one’s psychological development in, and in
interaction with, a social environment. Involving both
psychological and social aspects in human
development.
Because Erikson’s Theory integrates personal,
emotional and social development, it is often called
Psychosocial Theory.
3. ERIKSON’S THEORY OF PSYCHOSOCIAL
Shows impact of social experiances across one’s
whole lifespan.
There are eight stages over a lifespan showing the
development.
The main elements behind his theory is the identity
of ones EGO.
According to his theory when conflicts arise people
have the opportunity to grow or fail equally.

5. ADOLESCENT(fidelity) – Identity v/s Identity Difussion
6. YOUNG ADULT(love) – Intimacy v/s Isolation
7. MIDDLEAGED ADULT(care)–Generativity v/s Self-Absorption
8. OLDER ADULT(wisdom) – Integrity v/s Despair
