ENVIRONMENTAL
PRINCIPLES
ADAPTATION
Adaptation also called an adaptive
trait, is a trait with a current functional
role in the life history of an organism
that is maintained and evolved by
means of natural selection.
DIVERSITY
Composed of different elements
The inclusion of different types of people
( as people of different cultures)
BEHAVIOR
Behavior is the range of actions and
mannerisms made by organisms, systems, or
artificial entities in conjunction with
themselves or their environment
ENERGY FLOW
Also called the calorific flow, refers to the
flow of energy through a food chain. In an
ecosystem, ecologists seek to quantify the
relative importance of different component
species and feeding relationships.
GROWTH
Refers to a positive change in size, often
over a period of time. Growth can occur as
a stage of maturation or a process toward
fullness or fulfillment. It can also perpetuate
endlessly
ACCESSIBILITY
Is the degree to which a product, device,
service, or environment is available to as
many people as possible.
Accountability
The obligation of an individual or
organization to account for its activities,
accept responsibility for them, and to
disclose the results in a transparent manner.
It also includes the responsibility for money
or other entrusted property.
REGULATION
A rule or directive made and maintained
by an authority.
LIMITS
A restriction on the size or amount of
something permissible or possible.
