2. Analysis Of David Weaver s Ecotourism
David Weaver is a professor at Griffith University on the Gold Coast in Australia. He has a Ph.D.
in Geography and has over 30 years of experience regarding tourism and his specialities are within
the areas of ecotourism, sustainable tourism and destination management. He has been both
teaching and researching during his 30 years in the field, and also published academic books and
other research materials. Some of his books are currently used in tourismcourses at universities
worldwide. There is a course called Globally Responsible Tourism at the Norwegian School of Hotel
Management in Stavanger, which is mandatory for students studying a bachelor degree in tourism
management. In this course Professor Weaver s ecotourism book is used as the textbook, and in
light of this course we became interested in sustainability and ecotourism in the first place. Luckily,
he was teaching at the university we did our exchange semester at, and due to that we got the
opportunity to interview him in person for this bachelor thesis. As already mentioned, the research
question for this bachelor thesis is about how GBR can be seen as a sustainable destination. To
figure this out, it is important to understand how tourism or visitors affect the GBR. During the
interview with Weaver, he expresses himself about climate change, chemical waste, tourism
impacts, global warming, etc. According to Weaver, tourism impacts includes that the good
outcomes overwhelmed the negative impacts in GBR.

3. Criticisms Of The Distributive Model In Social Justice
Wadood, Jaleel
AfroAm 188A Sem 3
Spring 2017
Professor Rogers
May 26, 2017
Criticisms of the Distributive Model in Social Justice Iris Marion Young takes on a strong position
surrounding the notion of a distributive model within the realm of social justice in Justice and The
Politics of Difference. She does not believe the distributive model truly encompasses the issues
within social justice, but rather limits social justice to the fair and just distribution of advantage
and strain amongst the members of society. The distributive model fails to acknowledge the
process that limits the distribution of human rights to society s members, thus lacking the means to
evoke change. Young takes on a position that focuses on the process of domination and oppression
within society and how that should be the primary focus when trying to understand social justice.
The distributive paradigm or model that Young refers to in her book defines social justice as the
morally proper distribution of benefits and burdens among society s members (Young 16). In that
regard, social justice is being viewed as the distribution of material goods, resources, and other
means of economic advancement. Social justice is much broader and goes far deeper than simply
defining who gets what. While the distribution of resources, wealth, and material goods is an
important factor when thinking about social justice, it should not be the center of discussion. The
distribution of such things comes first from the initiation of a social system that defined who was
worthy of receiving resources in life. To think that social justice is solely about the distribution of
wealthy possessions, ignores the fact that there are social structures that have been put into place in
order to control the distribution. In a sense, the distributive model only acknowledges the effects of
the issue and not the cause. By only focusing on the distribution of wealth, resources, income, and
jobs in society, the distributive model leaves out the way social constructions of race and class have
allocated the distribution of such possessions. There are institutions within society that are
controlling the distribution of various material things in society, and have been put in

4. The War Of The French Revolution
It is critically important to gain all benefits of the military history lessons to abstract the aspects of
war, which enhance our leadership and capabilities to take the right decision. Therefore, I am going
to start with war definition. War is an act of force to compel our enemy to do our Will . During the
eighteenth and the beginning of the nineteenth centuries, a series of conflicts dominated Europe.
These conflicts had its influence on the Europe at that time, but the Napoleonic warshad the most
lasting impact on western warfare. The explosion of the French revolutionin 1789 is regarded today
as an important event in modern history. Different aspects of the French revolution influenced the
world affairs today. Therefore, waris an action has a principle to guide the force supported by
sustainment, and to compel your enemy you should have the superiority, which comes from the
innovation of organization, technology and tactics. Then, from my point of view, the desire of the
people nationalism , which remain the only significant factor, drives the societies to war. Thus,
Most of military aspects of western ways warfare have been remain constant since the 17th and
18th century, but the most important aspects that characterize ware fare in the age of Napoleon are
innovation, principles of war, and from my point of view, I will add nationalism.
First, innovation played a crucial role in determining the outcome of the war, Innovations in
organization, technology, and

5. Massage In Diabetic Patients
In massage therapy today, massage is considered a way to improve poor circulation in the lower
limbs of diabetic patients (Rattray 1015). However, persistent inflammation also contributes to
diabetic feet (Armstrong). A modality that can address both inflammation and poor circulation
would be ideal.
Cold hydrotherapy could be that modality. Brief cold exposure leads to vasodilation and thus
increased blood flow (Daanan). Plus, that vasodilation follows a period of vasoconstriction
(Daanan), which reduces the inflammatory response (Rattray 71). That means that the increased
blood flow caused by the cold induced vasodilation (CIVD) has fewer inflammatory factors in it
(Dulian). In that case, cold foot baths could simultaneously prevent the degeneration ... Show more

The literature also supports using CIVD to treat diabetic patients (Armstrong), but there was
mixed support for CIVD s impact on blood flow. None of the studies directly measured the impact
of CIVD on blood flow in diabetic patients.
Impact on hypothesis. The literature review inspired this paper s hypothesis: none of the studies
directly addressed CIVD and blood flow in diabetic patients even though it s a promising topic.
CIVD and blood flow. According to Daanen s literature review, [c]old induced vasodilation
(CIVD) in the fingertips generally occurs 5 10 min after the start of local cold exposure of the
extremities. However, Gregson et al found that no difference in femoral artery conductance 30
minutes after immersion of healthy patients lower limbs in cold water for 10 minutes. (Buy
Daanen. Why the discrepancy?)
GSM and blood flow. Massage significantly increases blood flow in healthy adults. Wood and
Becker found that deep stoking and kneading of the calf doubled the rate of blood flow for forty
minutes in healthy adults (26). Goats article confirmed that forceful massage in a healthy adult
increases both local blood flow and cardiac stroke volume

We all have a duty of care to everyone we come into contact with or have an effect on, this
responsibility increases as we take on more responsible roles such as being a coach. Duty of
Care is a legal commitment to being responsible. First aid All Coaches should hold an
appropriate First Aid award to ensure they have the skills to appropriately treat an athlete if they
are needed to. Coaches must ensure they have all your health records encase something were to
happen e.g. if you had epilepsy and you suddenly began having a fit the coach would have to
know what to do. Keeping records One of the responsibilities of the coach is to keep records.
Whilst you may not be directly responsible for all of the following records, you may need to
collect information about your participants, your sessions, safety, accidents, venues etc. Coaches
also have a responsibility to the Data Protection Act (1998) that states only relevant and necessary
information should be held, used only for the purposes stated, not kept for longer than required,
secured in a safe place, disposed of securely, and not passed on without consent. Insurance If a
coach fails to meet their duty of care and someone becomes injured or suffers loss or damage, they

inhabitants of Hiroshima focus on a collective future not a destructive past. The medical care law is
also not a fixation with the bomb. The law is an example of the inhabitants attempting to reclaim
their home from the invader by focusing on the aftermath not the moment. In addition, the law
places an emphasis on the future; the health and longevity of the hibakusha. Understandably, the
political and civil method of resolution is the most arduous. The inhabitants of Hiroshima can t

Question: Does the depth of the river affect its overall pH from mid december 2015 to early

Knowledge Probe: According to.epa.gov/acidrain/measure/pH.html, pH is a measure of the
hydrogen ion concentration of a solution. Solutions with a high concentration of hydrogen ions
have a low pH and solutions with a low concentrations of H+ ions have a high pH. A pH of 7 is
the most neutral you can get and 0 being the most acidic and 14 being the most basic. each level
is 10 times more basic/ acidic than the previous level, for example a pH of 8 is 10 times more basic
than 7, and a pH of 9 is 100 times more basic than 7. when an acidic substance reacts with a basic
substance they counter each other like mixing hot and cold water. ... Show more content on

compares the depth in inches to the pH directly, and the average of each is at the bottom of the table.
Data Analysis: On trial 5 something interesting happened where it did not match the trend of
other data points. you can see this when comparing the depth to pH with the grapHs; for
example trial 1 s depth and pH is lower than trial 2 s depth and pH, and trial 2 s depth and pH is
lower than trial 3 s depth and pH etc. that sort of trend is fluent through the data except trial 5
where depth was lower than the previous trials but the pH was the highest collected. My data is
accurate to a point but when collecting the depth of the river it presented a challenge to get 100%
accurate because it is constantly changing; also the pH scale only measures to the hundredth of a
digit. The pH Scales calibration could also have been of slightly but all of my trials were collected
under the same calibration so it does not seem to present a change in trend but instead with the
actual numbers.

9. Legal Systems Of The English Legal System
The term common law is the name given to legal systems who embrace the English legal system.
Originally, it was created as a case law, judge made centered system. It set out to focus on legal
principles, which were created by judicial verdict. However, over time the body of the legal
principles matured from the courts, as now, when a judge handles a case, they have to set out to
establish what the facts are proceeding the case, and how to determine how the law applies to
those facts. When making a verdict of how the law applies to set of facts, a system of precedent
will be emplaced. In turn, the courts will form a hierarchy, this is because findings of the higher
courts bind the lower courts together, thus, meaning that they will both be required to apply the
same doctrine of law as the higher court when confronted with similar cases. (The Open University,
2015, p.5)
In common law, the distinctive feature is how it represents the law of the courts in judicial
verdicts. This is because the grounds for disputing cases are found in precedents given by past
accord. However, another feature of common law would be the doctrine of the suprecemy of the
law, this means that acts of government bodies are subject to inquiry in typical legal proceedings.
The latin phrase of stare decisis (let the decision stand) is used in Judicial precedents, which in turn,
means that the earlier verdicts of the highest court in the jurisdictions, as therefore binding on all
other courts. (The

13. Selma Alabama Speech
Selma Our founders envisioned a country where the people would be free from a tyrannical
government and set up a society where its citizens would be able to exercise each of his/her rights.
As government suppresses the rights of its own citizen s, to increase its power, individuals unite to
form movements and organizations to end the government s act of tyranny, and to restore their
freedoms as originally intended. The events in Selma, Alabama in 1965, exemplify this
phenomenon as Dr. Martin L. King Jr., along with thousands of other black Americans, protested in
order to stop the government s act of suppressing voter rights. The events of Selma, inspired the
song, Glory , by John Legend and Common, hopes to raise awareness about the events... Show more

Common acknowledges this in an interview with Variety saying, I have to say that was one of
the important things about Selma and what we wanted to accomplish with Glory, to awaken and
remind people, (Setoodeh 2015). In order for there to be change, the people must recognize that
change is needed. The song has had quite an impact in society in terms of education. Just one or
two months upon release, Google Trends shows that the word Selma had the largest spike in
web and news searches since 2005 (Google Trends Selma 2015). That s a significant amount of
people learning about Selma and its purpose. Another impact was how the song caused news
corporations to teach its listeners about Selma when referencing the song. Almost every major
news outlet gave a historical background on Selma and voter suppression. The song has even had
a large cultural impact according to John Legend in an interview with Variety, One of the biggest
inspirations for me is seeing people actually use the song in protests in New York on Martin Luther
King Jr. Day, and knowing so many young people look at the song as an anthem for them to march
to, (Setoodeh 2015). People using this song as an anthem, furthers this notion that the song, Glory

14. Analysis Of AinT No Rest For The Wicked
Ain t No Rest for the Wicked is a song by Cage the Elephant, and released as a single on June 16,
2008, but released in 2009 on the album Cage the Elephant . This song was written in the middle
of the Great Recession of 2007 2009 in the United States and is heavily influenced by the
economic issues during that time period. Matthew Schultz, a member of the band, told an
interviewer about how he came up with the song and what inspired him to write it. Schultz
explained how he was working in construction at the time he wrote the song, and how he asked a
drug dealer why he did not stop doing drugs and selling them, to which he replied, There ain t no
rest for the wicked ( Cage the Elephant ) and that he has to work without rest in order to earn
money, even if it meant that he could be arrested. Ain t No Rest for the Wicked is a first person
narrative and has a motif of events that reference Marxist criticism because it focuses on the
idea that society is greatly impacted by the state of the economy and that people are willing to
commit immoral acts to make a living. In the first verse of Ain t No Rest for the Wicked , a
scene is set where the narrator is walking down the street when he is confronted by a prostitute
who offers her services to him if he pay[s] the right price (Cage the Elephant, line 10). When asked
why she is selling her body to complete strangers, the prostitute explains how Money

Together, Canada and the United States, on behalf of the Allies, made military contributions in

and Axis victory was being averted by sheer Allied bravery, even though Britain was near to
collapse and France and the rest of Europe had long fallen. Allied victory seemed impossible, until

Canadian involvement in the Second World War was largely self gratifying, in a way, as it began
to develop a huge war industry of aircraft, military vehicles and cargo carriers production, most of
which went to Britain, which kept its factories working, which spurred them to keep alive their
interest in helping to win the war. The major contribution by the Canadians was the usage of the
Corvettes that acted as escorts for supply ships on the way to Britain. Without these supplies, D
Day would never have happened. These military skirmishes and actions kept the war alive, but did
not initiate any significant results on their own; however they were a pivotal support force.
America s late entry into the war was made up with its efficient and strategic fighting in battles,
which ended the Second World War. Most of American military contributions in Europe were in
collaboration with troops from other Allied nations, such as the Italian Campaign, D Day landings
(under American General D. Eisenhower) and the Battle of the Bulge. Starting from the West,
Allied forces moved further eastwards, with the United States leading from the front, while Soviet
forces attacked westwards, trapping Berlin. Hitler committed suicide, Nazi Germany was in

Two different age kids in The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, turn out to have a lot in common but, also
a lot dissimilar. Johnny and Dally both do not have a strong relationship with their abusive,
neglectful parents but, at least they have the gang. On the other hand, Dally likes to fight and
Johnny does not, so in the end Johnny dies as someone to look up to and Dally dies a thief.
Throughout the story they both show different emotions towards their parents, gangmembers, and
each other. Johnny and Dally have a lot in common, and one of them is that they do not really
have people to call their family, so they call their gang their family. When Darry hits Ponyboy,
Pony runs to Johnny, who is sleeping in the lot, and tells him they are running away because of

treat him nicely, he still needs to understand that he has people that care for him, and that he is
not alone. Later on in the story, Johnny is dying. While he is still alive his mother comes to see

17. The Importance Of The During The Renaissance
The Importance Of Military in the Renaissance
The Renaissance was a time of great advancements and the bridging of the medieval era to the
modern era. Along with technological advancements there were advances socially which changed
the feudal mindset and militarily. Military shaped the age we call the Renaissance. The military
shaped the land borders of countries such as France, Russia, The United Kingdom, Sweden and
Austria through conquest. What made the militaries of these important countries powerful was
their ability to dominate on land, in the sea, and what made these nations powerful.
The forces on land in the Renaissance were what mainly dominated warfare in Europe. Many
European countries did not have the means to build a navy, a port to house their navy, or land
which had access to the sea. Some of the most important parts of the armies were the equipment
they used. There were some dominant roles in combat though. These dominant combat roles are
ranged weapons, siege engines, on foot, and on horseback. The main ranged weapons of the
time were Longbows, Crossbows, and Guns. The longbow is superior to it s predecessor the
shortbow. As it sounds the longbow is just a longer version of the shortbow. This added length
gives the user a much more powerful arrow release resulting in the arrow traveling farther and
giving it a greater velocity. The crossbow was very small and stiff bow that is set in the orientation
of a cross. The crossbow had a trigger mechanism that

19. Was Reconstruction A Success Or Failure Essay
Reconstructions Successes, Failures, and Legacy The Reconstruction Era of 1865 1877 proved
to be one of triumph and disappointments for many. The end of the Civil War brought on
feelings of freedom and the vision of great things on the horizon for slaves. At the same time,
feelings of despair and that the Civil War was a lost cause was a common feeling among many
white Americans. Freedom, even though still limited, was viewed as a success by black people.
The organization of the Freedmen s Bureau was viewed as a success. The Freedmen s Bureau
provided former slaves and underprivileged white southern people social, educational, and
economics services. Blacks won election to the southern state governments and even to the U.S.
Congress during this period (Reconstruction, 1). The passing of the 14th and 15th Amendment
were also viewed as successes. These laws protected civil rights and allowed for voting, no matter
the color of your skin. The Enforcement Act of 1870 was also viewed as a success because it
upheld the 13th Amendment that gave slaves freedom.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

21. Called to Service a Life of Missionary Service
After I turned sixteen (16) years of age, I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit calling to me and
directing me to serve as a missionary in the field. My internal strength is always my sense of
faith since I feel so strongly that my destiny lies in helping my neighbour as well as seeking a
higher purpose that my faith leads me towards a path of tranquillity and harmony with my
Father. As a result of my predilection of helping others, I have decided to act onto God s will
and gravitate towards missionary service rather than talking but, in fact, executing my quest. In
addition, the realization of assisting altruistically my fellow man on a global basis added another
layer of purpose that serves my Father on several levels towards my missionary life. For example, I
ve always felt a needto help other to seek a better life for themselves spiritually, physical, and
mentally since I have made a consciousness decision to follow my desire help others for the
greater need of others rather than my own needs that is more than satiating my need to work with
those in need of life skillsets.
On 2010, I turned eighteen (18) years of age. I remember this time frame only in that I served on
my first international missionary trip in Jakarta, Indonesia for two (2) weeks of my life at a small
village that was thirty (30) minutes from Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. During my time at the
small village, I had to overcome feelings of discomfort since this was my first time outside my

23. Advantages Of Flats
If you are looking to buy flats in Gurgaon from Unitech for an investment opportunity, you will find
a high demand for furnished flats. For tenants looking for a temporary flat, a holiday home, or a
weekday flat, renting a furnished flat will save them time and money on buying and transporting
their own furniture. This is why buying unfurnished flats and filling them with high quality
furniture is such a great investment opportunity. Landlordology says that furnished flats can be
much more profitable in the long run to landlords than unfurnished flats and also have numerous
benefits that tenants are looking for. Here are just a few reasons why and some demographics
looking for furnished flats:
1.More Appealing to New Tenants

Renting out two or three bedroom flats means that their families can also stay with them during
their work visit. It is a much better saving for business travellers than the minibar at a hotel and
much nicer to have a fridge full of food or a washer and dryer when they need them without having
to wait for hotel room service. Even just a sofa to lie on and a tv to watch at the end of a long day
are a bonus.
5.Students
Parents who are looking for flats for their children starting university will want somewhere
temporary but also safe and comfortable. This is another market which has a high demand for
rented furnished apartments. Luxury apartments with built in security systems will be attractive to
parents, particularly parents of girls living alone. Students can enjoy their university life with
luxury amenities and their parents have peace of mind that they are staying safe.
As you can see, there are many advantages to tenants for renting furnished flats and many different
markets that landlords can tap into. Done correctly, it can be a great investment opportunity that
returns money quickly and has potential for long term financial

24. How Technology Has Broadened The Spectrum Of Applications
4.EMERGING DEVICES
The continuous scaling of CMOS technology has broadened the spectrum of applications. Complex
architectures can be now realized on a single chip. The integration of existing and new technologies
with CMOS extends the scope of implementation.
Figure 3 : Relationship among More Moore, More than Moore, and Beyond CMOS
4.1More than Moore
The functional diversification of the semiconductor based devices by non digital components is
More than Moore implementation. These non digital functionalities may not scale at the same rate
as the digital components. The non digital components are capable of interacting with outside
world through sensors and actuators. This integration of functions like analog and mixed signal
processing, addition of passive, power components and bio chips increases the range of applications
such as communications, automotive, biomedical and security. As integration grows so does the
challenges, it demands the need for multidisciplinary research programs to run in pace with
growing scientific fields.
4.2More Moore
The expansion of the CMOS by conventional dimensional scaling to reduce the cost per function
and improved performance is More Moore. This also comes with resource scarcity such as power
availability and reduced flexibility in interconnects. Power dissipation becomes a critical problem
in such devices due to large logic circuits. Since the battery capacity has not improved much but the

25. The Yellowstone Wolf Controversy Essay
One of the biggest reasons for the reintroduction of wolves back into Yellowstone was that they
had originally roamed from Yellowstone all the way down to Mexico. While a lot of people were
in favor of the reintroduction of the wolves, there were many who were against it. The main
people who were against the reintroduction of the wolves back into the park were the ranchers who
made a living in the areas surrounding the park.
During 70 years of absence from the Rockies, the Grey Wolf had been protected under the
Endangered Species Act that was passed in 1973. Since the wolf is under the protection of
Endangered Species Act a person could be punished with up to a $100,000 fine and up to 1 year in
jail for killing a wolf. Back in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this plan they decided on three areas in which to reintroduce wolves; Northwest Montana, the
Yellowstone Ecosystem, and Central Idaho. In 1987 they released another plan that was more
detailed than the first few. The recovery goal for the Grey Wolf was ten breeding pairs per area,
which meant ten packs of ten wolves, or 100 total. With the release of the 1987 plan, a lot of
opposition was raised.
For the first time in 70 years, the howl of the Grey Wolf is being heard throughout Yellowstone
Park (Sanders, 2000). In January of 1995, 14 wolves from separate packs in Canada were trapped
and transported to Yellowstone. Once in the park the wolves were placed in one acre
acclimation pens. In total there were three pens scattered across the northern portion of
Yellowstone: one a Crystal Creek, another at Rose Creek, and the last at Soda Butte. During the
wolves time spent in these pens they were fed winter kill, or road kill. The packs that were formed
in these pens were released in the winters of 1995 1996 and also again in 1996 1997 for a second
release period (Sanders, 2000). In 1995 fourteen wolves were released and in 1996 seventeen were
released. In 1997 there were 64 pups born and since 1995, 33 wolves have died in the Yellowstone
area.
With the reintroduction of the Grey Wolf into the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystemthere have been
many people who are opposed. Mainly the ranchers in Montana

26. Women s Role In Early Christianity
When one thinks about the leaders of early Christianity, an orthodox vision of Jesus male apostles
and disciples fills their head. While there is no doubt these men were important, their influential
women counterparts are often overlooked and underrated. For years, historians were perplexed at
the rapid spread of early Christianity, until they considered women. Women had a major role in the
rise and spread of early Christianity because they were not only numerous, but also influential in
leadership positions and converting others. More women joined the Christian Church than men
because Christianity was more appealing to women than any other religion or paganism. Christian
women enjoyed much higher status than the Greco Roman women. They... Show more content on

This, however, still would not be enough conversions to account for this tremendous influx of
followers. Women had a large part in raising the number of followers and conversions in the first
five centuries of Christianity. There is a distinction between active conversion and secondary
conversion. Active conversion is when one takes part in their own conversion and shows a
desire to change one s beliefs; active conversions mostly took place in women. Secondary
conversions are when one s religious beliefs are influenced and guide by another; secondary
conversions were common in pagan men. There was an excess of marriageable Christian women
and a deficiency of pagan women which turned out to be problematic. Christian women were then
encouraged to marry pagan men. Paul encouraged women to marry outside the religion because,
an unbelieving husband is consecrated through his wife (Stark 240). In 200, the Bishop of Rome,
Callistus, declared that Christian women could live in just concubinage without being married
(Stark 240). This was necessary at the time, especially for upper class women, because if a
Christian woman married below her class, then she would lose much of her privilege and legal
standing. This declaration from the Bishop, along with the social acceptance, resulted in more
marriages outside of the Church. Peter shared similar feelings with Paul and thought

It is true that many educators do not know what their educational philosophy is. However it is
imperative for educators and future educators to know their personal educational philosophies so
that they can be accountable, explain how they teach, what they are doing and why. My personal
Educational philosophy is made up of four components; metaphysics, epistemology, axiology, and
logic.
My educational Philosophy Metaphysics (reality) is a combination of realism and idealism, that
the mind, spirit, and body are connected and that they should and must work together. God is the
father of the universe. He created it for his spirit children who he loves and communicates with on
a daily basis. Individuals are spirit sons and daughters that God ... Show more content on

When students are encouraged to tutor their peers and younger students, their own learning is
enhanced. Going out into the community to learn about subjects coupled with reading about them
in books is a powerful learning tool as well. Once students are in the community and aware of
what the community needs, students should be encouraged to take some action or responsibility
in planning for a change. I am an advocate of behaviorism. Educators should discourage poor
behaviors and encourage appropriate behaviors as well as teach new behaviors. Students are
capable and should be involved in creating rules for the classroom. Education should encourage
cooperation and teach decision making skills. School should be a place of molding (without forcing)
children into good citizens that will contribute to the community in a positive way.
My Educational Philosophy consists of bits and pieces of many of the philosophies because most
of the philosophies included components I would not or could not include in my own. None of the
philosophies metaphysics matched my own, so I combined the metaphysics of realism and
idealism because Idealists believe that the spirit and mind are the only reality, where realists
believe that the body or matter is more real than the mind. I believe that the mind and spirit and
body are a unit and must work together for the common good. I think that the curriculum of

In the eyes of our founding fathers, few things seemed as important as the separation of church and
state. The first amendment grants all Americans the freedom to subscribe to any religion they wish
and promises that the government will not promote any religion above any other. Although the
separation of church and state and the freedom of religion are firmly and concretely secured in the
Constitution of the United States, events in the recent past bring to question whether this ideal is
under threat of losing its place as an American standard.

It is important to choose a battle wisely to not take away from future battle and maintain importance
on the battles deserving of a fight.
One such battle that is deserving of attention is the battle of prayer in school or the moment of
silence as a clever euphemism. To publicly bring attention to students with different beliefs is
clearly a violation of the ideals of our fore fathers. Not only does the moment of silence bring
sensitive differences to light but clearly presses on the issues of religion and possibly alienates
religious minorities.
Another such recent test to the separation of church and state was President Bush s public definition
of marriage and attack on homosexual relationships. Under the code of unethical, Mr. Bush
attempted to ban the union of two same sex members from joining as married. Although no Biblical
scripture has been presented as support for the proposed constitutional amendment, the
disagreement with same sex marriage can primarily be found in the religious fields or in area s
traditionally known as religiously dominant areas. Marriage is both an emotional as well as
contractual union of individuals. To prevent the union should require the backing of evidence that
appeals to more than the fickle nature of the public.

Dependence is at such a point that stopping is very difficult and causes severe physical and mental

You may let go of the bowling ball at a constant speed, but its velocity is not constant because of
the change in direction every instant. The ball s state of motion is changing. It s accelerating! Now
you can see why it is important to know the difference between speed and velocity, and why
acceleration is defined as the rate of change of velocity, rather than speed. Acceleration is like
velocity, its directional. If you were to change your arms speed or direction, or even both, you
change velocity and you accelerate. Just remember acceleration = change of velocity/time interval.
The one thing that s cool about pool is that wooden alley that s always shiny. The alley is made
out of fine wood and is usually shined up. The alley seems to be the friction that slows a ball
down. Even when a single force is applied to an object, it is usually not the only force affecting
the motion. This is because of friction. Friction is a force that always acts in a direction to oppose
motion. When you let go of the ball one way, the air resistance is coming the opposite direction.
Let go of the bowling ball and you can see it in motion. If an object moves, the by virtue of that
motion it is capable of doing work. It has energy in motion, or kinetic energy. The kinetic energy
of an object depends on the mass of the object as well as its speed.

Leaders become great, not because of their power, but because of their ability to empower

that certain people possess traits that make them good leaders and researcher focus in personality,
social, physical, or intellectual qualities that would identify them as leaders from the rest of the

37. A Summary Of Takeda Shingen
Takeda Shingen s banners carried the words Steady as a mountain, attack like fire. Unlike most
samurai, Takeda never built a fortress. He preferred the migration of marauding armies, meeting
his enemies afield. Shingen was aggressive but cautious. He waged battles but also installed two
doors to his lavatory so he could never be cornered by an assassin. He struck the fastidious war
monger s balance of armies with enough farmers to feed them. Shingen was popular because he
taxed the samuraiclass as well as peasants. He allowed corporal punishment to be bought off. He
maintained convenient roads (Г la Mussolini and his trains) and mined gold.
Tokugawa Ieyasu, when he rose to power and established his line of Tokugawa Shogun that would
last 250 years, mimicked many Takeda policies. But he almost didn t have to. On a later campaign
march south, Takeda Shingen, fat and battle hardened and in his fifties, came near to killing the
29 year old Tokugawa at the seaside town of Hamamatsu. Tokugawa met Takeda in a battle
outnumbered ten to one. Tokugawa fought bravely but soon fled to his castle, fending off
assassins by hand. He lit his retreat with torches, revealing the path to both his soldiers and
enemies. Tokugawa then ordered his castle to burst forth with drums. Takeda might have sacked
the castle, but the welcoming lights and drums cautioned him. It seemed too inviting. He was
used to cagier prey. Takeda broke off attack and backtracked to Kai. Had he not, he would have
beheaded Tokugawa and would have overrun the capital Kyoto. At least one historian, Stephen
Turnbull, believes Takeda would have made an excellent Shogun. And Tokyo, the world s
biggest city founded by Tokugawa, would not exist. In which case, it s likely I never would have
lived in Yamanashi, or anywhere near Takeda s power center. I never would have met Yumiko,
nor would we have danced. Takeda s name would ring louder in history, but my life would be

We cannot be separated in interest or divided in purpose, declared President Woodrow Wilson,
We (must) stand together until the end (Wilson 2). These powerful proclamations were voiced by
Wilson in one of his most famous addresses, the Fourteen Points on January 8, 1918. As the world
was in the midst of the Great War, violence, starvation, and the beginnings of communism plagued
Europe. The question that kept lingering in the minds of everyone affected was what was to come
in the future. President Wilson wanted to offer relief to the crumbling world. He realized that if
war was to end, and lasting peace was to work, the victors must swallow their pride and offer relief
to the vanquished (Lodge 1). In an effort to get this notion going, he outlined a plan that sought to
make the world fit and safe to live in (Lodge 1). It included everything from freedom of the seas to
creating an international organization that would help mediate any upcoming disputes between
member nations. Wilson presented his innovative formula with a confident, high moral tone to his
European counterparts using logical and ethical appeal, as well as repetition, to accentuate a thesis
that carried a theme of freedom and democracy throughout. In the long run, he could not convince

Throughout time, practices in archeology have evolved with the progress of technology.
Archeology has adapted specialized tools and processes while utilizing new discoveries to aid
understanding of the past. One significant advancement is the discovery of Deoxyribonucleic Acid
(DNA). The discovery of DNAhas greatly enhanced our ability to analyze ancient remains and
interpret the findings within the field of archeology. To fully demonstrate the impact that DNA has
brought to the field of archeology it is important to understand the historical discovery of DNA and
initial integration into the field of archeology, the use in present day archeology, the advancements
and refinements of DNA testing, and the future applications of DNA testing within the field of
archeology.
Deoxyribonucleic acid, or more typically referred to as DNA, is the building block for all
carbon based life forms on earth. DNA carries a set of instructions for all living beings: how tall,

Albrecht Kossel in 1878 isolated the non protein components of DNA and the five primary
nucleobases. The understanding of the five bases was

43. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Bio-Diesel
6.5.2.Bio diesel
Chemically, bio diesel is a methyl ester of C16 C18 saturated and unsaturated fatty acids obtained
through base, acid or enzyme catalyzed transesterification of vegetable oils with methanol. Enzyme
catalyzed transesterification make the whole production process considerably sustainable and
greener. In Europe, biodiesel is made predominantly from rape seed oil. Worldwide so many
plants have been used for the production of biodiesel such as jojoba oil, jatropha oil, karanja oil
etc. Transesterification of vegetable oil produce bio diesel and glycerol. Glycerol can be further
used for other important applications. The biodiesel so obtained can be added to diesel fuels in
different percentage compositions that may vary from 5% to 30%. In some ... Show more content on

Disadvantages
Besides having several advantages plant based renewable raw materials few limitations associated
with their use are given below:
Most of the plant products that can be used as a building block for industries have
conventionally been used as food resources. Plant resources need lots a space for their
development. Biomass is essentially seasonal, which affect their continuous supply as a feedstock.
A broad range of materials that comprise biomass could be damage if new processes need to be
developed for each feedstock. The building blocks extracted from biomass are foreign to traditional
chemical producers and must be demonstrated to function similarly to existing building blocks.
8.Conclusions
Plant based raw materials are already replacing fossil based materials. They have high substitution
potential especially for the products that have direct contact to humans e.g. tenside in detergents,
pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. In addition to that, their cost effectiveness and high concerns for
environmental consequences promote their use in various industries. In the future, plant derived
chemicals are expected to play an increasingly significant role in the commercial development of

44. Haitian Political System Shaped Danticat s Life
The Haitian political system shaped Danticat s life by exposing her to how different americans
live their lives compared to hers. Growing up, Danticat had a very rough childhood. She grew up
without her parents and things that were taking place in Haiti, she was unpleased by. Eventually
enough was enough. She went and searched for her family. I realized during my reading that
Danticat gave the audience an amazing description of how her life played out. She expresses how
everyone at some point of time struggles in their own different way. Although the different
characters love where they are from and they recognize the problems in their country, they each
individually have their own problems to solve. I was born in Philadelphia, but

45. Taking a Look at Manipulative Advertising
The meaning of advertising is the act or practice of calling public attention to one s product,
service, need, etc (cited in Collins English Dictionary). It has various forms such as televisions,
newspapers, magazines, radios, mobiles, books, mailboxes, and through the networks. Advertising
has become a part of our daily lives, and it affects our way of life because advertisements are
everywhere: in the streets, supermarkets, shops and malls. In fact, advertisingis one of the most
influential marketing methods on consumers in the commercial field. It is also an important source
of information before buying any product. However, advertising has become a way for traders to
manipulate the consumers, and that has a lot of risks on the individual and the community.
Advertising industry should grow for the need of informing the consumers about the products not to
deceive then by marketing tricks. Nowadays, advertising targets consumers to manipulate them
more than informing them with the needed facts about what they buy because it is achieved by
marketing fallacies and tricks and it causes many troubles in the community.
It has been argued that the reason for using manipulation rather than the information in the
advertising world is to achieve the financial purposes in trade. The interests and commercial
ambitions are good ways to use manipulation in the exploitation of consumers by traders. One of
these goals is profit. Corporate business profitability always seeks the best

46. Lab We Use A Metal Compass Essay
In lab we used a metal compass to measure and to find our two point threshold acuity. When Dario
was measuring my two point sensitivity, I was blindfolded and had to judge whether or not I felt
one point or two points. We tested these on multiple locations being, the pad of my index finger,
pinky and thumb. We also measured our two point sensitivity on the center of my palm, back of my
hand and the top and bottom of my forearm. We took these measurements by starting the metal
compass at 1mm for each location. The experimenter would incrementally increase the metal
compass after each trial until the participant said they felt two points. The experimenter would then
verify that measurement and would repeat the measurement once again for accuracy. My results for
my two point threshold sensitivity can be found on the table above. However, we found that the
pads of my fingertips had the greatest number of receptive field. This didn t surprise me because it
makes senseto have a greater number of receptive fields in areas that are most predominantly used
for touch. Something that did surprise me though was how few of receptive fields I had on my
palm, back of my hand and on the top and bottom of my forearms. It makes sense that I d have
fewer receptive fields in this area because I don t use this for touch usually but how few of
receptive fields I had in these areas really surprised me. These measurements tell us that the number
of receptive fields are predominantly

At any rate everyone wished they could. His music verifiably made him a star, however the
crotch grabs he made, the sharp winds, and snaps, and his lively gimmicks he made, were the
reason he is so foremost today. He may not have created the moonwalk, yet he should have. The
fans were in shock as they watched him float across the stage while doing the moonwalk in his
dark loafers at the live broadcast Motown Music show in 1983, nobody had ever seen anything
like it. The crowd went wild for Michael, each time he was in front of an audience he honestly
figured out how to make the fans grin in wonder. An alternate extraordinary move he is known
for is Thriller , it wasn t simply a move, it was a music feature short. It is a thirteen moment
feature about Michael admitting his adoration for the young lady he really likes, yet at last he
startles her with reality about him being a werewolf. The feature was discharged on December 2,
1983. Indeed today, the music feature is still played and discussed consistently. It has been changed
by fans and films everywhere throughout the world. In the film 13 going on 30 , there was a scene

legislative branch is in charge of making and passing laws. They have the power to override a
president s decision, stop laws from being passed, and basically control all decisions the
governments makes. The legislative branch, also called the congress, consists of the House of
Representatives and the senate. The reason for two houses of congress is to balance out the

if the President vetoes the bill, it is then sent back to congress. Congress can then take a vote on

for bill because they understood that small businesses were having trouble getting loans after the
financial crisis that began in December of 2007. The Small Business bill was created to help out
small businesses. The bill includes tax breaks and a thirty billion dollar small business lending
fund. Congress is hoping that this will create more job openings because the businesses must hire a

50. My Opinion On The I m Malala
Since the first time that I looked through the syllabus I knew that I had two books in my mind
that I wanted to read: I m Malala and Trafficked. However, I already knew Malala, not her entire
story or the obstacles she had to overcome, but I knew how brave she was. My decision to pick I
m Malala was based on my curiosity to understand Malala s story and my admiration for her. I
wanted to understand how, when, and why she was shot for fighting for something that in my
reality seems to be a right of any human being: access to education. Also, how a young girl can
have this mentality and courage to fight against an entire culture and system. Now that I finished
the book, I understand Malala and I truly believe she is a special human being. I respect not only
her but her family who so bravely was able to teach her values and give her pieces of advice which
did not correspond to the same values that Pakistans culture wants that, especially a woman, to
have. In this analysis, I will be using the following terms: empathy, perception, categorization,
macroculture, microculture, muted group, power, human rights, ethnocentrism, and discrimination.
Malala was born in Pakistan a country that even before its creation was ruled by the British. When
the British started to introduce reforms that did not please the Hindus, mostly because of religion
divergences, Pakistan was created as a Muslim territory. According to Angel Fire , History of
Pakistan, about 8 million Muslims

Yertle, of all that I see. To see more, he needed something to stack up with, and one resource he
had available to stack up with were turtles. Another reason he was greedy was when he said in
the book: My throne shall be higher! his royal voice thundered, So pile up more turtles! I want

One is that being greedy will lead to bad things. The second one is that other people have lives as
well and need to do certain things to live a healthy life. At the end of the story somebody else
was sitting on the rock, so it might of been either Mack or somebody else. If that means
somebody else is the king, then that means that sometimes bad decisions can lead to somebody
else s good or just plain bad with it just going away. When Yertle saw the moon and wanted to
stack up even higher, I actually thought he was going to go to outer space and then lift off into
the void. The book was very easy to understand as for one, it was a book not really meant for our
age group, and for two, that lots of the words rhymed and it made it flow. Thirdly is that the
reader, Mrs.Harrits read very fluently, also she spoke loudly so everybody could understand.
Yertle became the king of lots of things. Those include: Sala ma Sond pond, cow, mule, house,
blueberry bush and a cat. These were stated when it was said in the book: All mine! Yertle cried.

52. Federalism And Separation Of Power
In 18th century America, delegates representing twelve of the thirteen states gathered in
Philadelphia to correct the national government. At the time, the existing government, which was
under the Articles of Confederation, was too weak and not doing the job required to administer the
new nation. On the other hand, representatives from the states tried to create a strong internal
government without allowing one person, or party, to gain too much power. Consequently, the
framers of the Constitution took various precautions in order to prevent tyranny within the
government. Guards like; checks and balances, Federalism, separation of powers, and the balance of
power between small and large were implemented by the delegates in hopes of preventing... Show

In addition, the Constitution states that liberty requires that the three great departments of power
should be separate and distinct , implying that the Legislative Branch [Congress; House of
Representatives and Senate] should be completely unrelated, in terms of responsibility, to the
Executive [President] and the Judiciary [courts]. Although different in responsibility, the three
branches are equal in power and all take part in federal processes. While the Legislative Branch
creates laws, the Executive can choose to enforce laws made by Congress. However, if the
nature of the law(s) are questionable, the Judiciary can step in and declare the act as
unconstitutional. Similar to Federalism, all branches have specific checks on each other in order
to balance power. For example, the Executive has the ability to to appoint justices to the courts,
with the approval of congress. However, Congress can impeach a president or judge if they have
committed an act of treason. In turn, the Judicial Branch can declare laws and acts created by the
Congress as unconstitutional. To summarize, separation of powers can help guard against tyranny
by preventing the accumulation of powers, for the accumulation of all powers... in the same hands,
whether one, a few or, many... may be justly pronounced the very definition of tyranny ; To put the

single continuous statement, they are required to present the components of net income and total

in the statement of net income. The statement of other comprehensive income should immediately
follow the statement of net income and include the components of other comprehensive income and
a total for other comprehensive income, along with a total for comprehensive income. Despite
which type of comprehensive income statement the entity decides to present, they are required to
present the reclassification adjustments for items that are reclassified from other comprehensive
income to net income in the statement where the components of net income and the components of
other comprehensive income are presented on the face of the financial statement.

has been taking more than recommended dose of antacids to help with nausea symptoms . She
has become dehydrated, so an IV has been placed and fluids have been started. She also has had
an arterial blood gas (ABG) drawn that has shown acid base deficits. This paper will discuss how a
focused history, physical exam, nursing diagnosis and the nursing process of care is important in
helping this patient get better. It will also discuss the differences between a complete assessment
and a focused assessment. Focus History Focus assessments are the most important part of care
planning and delivery for patients which specific complaints. This patient was admitted for flu like
