Vampires
Vampires, what are they? For a lot of people they are just scary and pale monsters but are they just monsters or just attractive or are they human beings? They are a combination of both; they are scary when they kill with cold blood after they are done with the victim but they look and have human characteristics. The general idea of the attractiveness of vampires portrays in nearly all of the vampire movies, in either male or female vampires. In the early days movie’s females where the main focus of attractiveness as showed in Dracula, while nowadays the main focus of attractiveness is the male as showed in “Interview with the vampire”. That shows that the general idea toward vampires have changed over the time. Also in the earlier vampire movies male vampires are more than the female ones. Vampires differ from each other they behave differently; some of them have more human characteristics then the other. Vampires are attractive and that is commonly known all around the world Dracula, Brad Pitt and Robert Pattinson are all attractive in the movies.
Why are they attractive? They have a white pale skin, strong physique, are very fast and stronger than normal which makes them a desire for ladies, which is why their victims are attracted to them. Vampires are indeed considered plain evil because of their mass killing of people in search for blood. In her article Kathleen Rout, Who Do You Love? Anne Rice's Vampires And Their Moral Transition says “as described in the interview and as seen in the vampire Lestat. He kills any and all types of people, and as a generous act he puts the poor out if their misery.” Rout argument is about why is Lestat killing and it is shown in the movie that he is killing based on a combination of fun and survival instinct, for him to survive he have to kill because killing means earing the only thing he can consume blood. But also he sometimes enjoy his killing a bit too much, he rapes and sometimes tortures his victims. When we were kids we had a rush breaking the rules or doing wrong things, like stealing a can of Coke or candy. So in another meaning, vampires get the same rush when they kill, either for fun or for their need for drinking blood. When they kill and rape people watching enjoy but when a real killer kills, people flip and start wondering why he did all of these bad things. And in this we see the morality behind vampires and what social beliefs people have towards them, they believe that vampires have their justification to kill because they are in need for blood but when a serial killer kill who is insane and have crazy claims about why he is killing, people aren’t acceptable of his reasons (Rout).

- 2. My personal delight for animation has inspired me to write this essay. Since I was a child I have been amused with animation films, from when they emerge out to be black and white, and until now with full color and 3D effects. There have been many marvelous animated TV shows throughout the history. Some people think that animated films are just for children, but there are many that have admissible themes that even grown ups would be entertained. The two animated movies I am comparing in this essay are ‘Anastasia’ and ‘Tarzan’. These two movies possess several similarities and also characteristics that make each of them remarkable. First and foremost, the crux similarities of both of these movies are the fact that both main characters are orphans. In the movie ‘Anastasia’, a sorcerer named Grigori Rasputin who placed a curse on the Romanov family and sparked the Russian Revolution killed Anastasia parents. Only Anastasia and her grandmother, Marie was able to escape the siege of the palace. In the other movie ‘Tarzan’, a leopard named Sabor killed Tarzan’s parents. A female gorilla, Kala managed to rescue Tarzan from the tree house where Sabor killed Tarzan’s parents’ and raised the baby as her own ever since that day. Next, in both ‘Anastasia’ and ‘Tarzan’ movie, both of the main characters faced a near-death experience. In Anastasia, Rasputin sends demonic spirits from the reliquary to kill Anastasia. The first attempt, the demonic spirits tried to kill her by causing a train accident and the second one the demonic spirits tried to make her jump off the ship while she’s sleeping. When the demonic spirits failed to kill Anastasia, Rasputin had to go up the surface of the earth and try to kill Anastasia himself, in which he failed. On the other hand, when Tarzan was a baby he almost got eaten by Sabor if Kala didn’t rescued him. When he was a child, Tarzan faced a near death experience when he almost got stomped by elephants when he was jokingly challenged by Terk to find an elephant hair, in order to keep up with the gorillas. He also almost got killed when he was engaged in a fierce battle with Clayton across the vine-covered trees. Other similarities in these two movies are both main characters are very loving and caring with animals. In the movie ‘Anastasia’, Anastasia found a puppy and named it Pooka and never fails to take great care of Pooka and taking it wherever she went. She even took care of Pooka after she had lived in the palace and she did not neglected Pooka and followed the puppy when it wander off inside the gardens alone. In the movie ‘Tarzan’, Tarzan had always shown respect to the gorilla troops, and all the animals in the jungle. He befriended the gorillas in the troop and other animals despite the fact that he’s incapable to keep up with them at all times. Lastly both of the movies show determination in both of the main characters. Anastasia was very determined on seeking out her family in Paris. She turned down a job at a fish factory in favor of going to St. Petersburg after her necklace influenced her to seek for her family in Paris. She didn’t give up on continuing her journey to Paris even though she faces a lot of obligations and near death experience. Anastasia was very determined to find her family and because of her determination she managed to get to Paris and finally reunited with her grandmother. In the movie ‘Tarzan’, when Tarzan met Jane, Porter and Clayton, he was very curious about humans which leads
- 3. him back to the explorer’s camp very often. He was very interested in learning about the humans and he was very determined. In the end and the outcome of his determination, he learnt a great deal about mankind and even managed to learn how to communicate with human beings. Animation movies have a lot of positive messages and moral values. These two movies possess several similarities, even though they have a distinctive story line. Animated movies have comedy, action, romance and musicals, which gives the movie so much characters and details. Both ‘Anastasia’ and ‘Tarzan’ tackle significant themes and bolster up important messages which can be affecting us in ways we didn’t even imagine and they are often strangely inspiring. Watching animated films reduce accumulated stress as it provides entertainment to all sorts of people. Whether young or old, men or women, kids or parents, a good animated show or movie will surely be enjoyable. Watching cartoon shows can help the entire family connect with each other and become intimate than before.
