1) The document compares the animated Disney musical films Frozen and Tangled. Both films feature female protagonists, Elsa and Rapunzel, who have magical powers and are initially isolated from society. 2) The plots involve Elsa and Rapunzel struggling to control their powers while dealing with the absence of their parents. Elsa flees her kingdom and unleashes an eternal winter, while Rapunzel is held captive in a tower by Mother Gothel. 3) By the end of the films, Elsa and Rapunzel sacrifice their powers to find happiness with their families, conveying a moral about love requiring sacrifice and understanding over time.

2. A musical movie is a film genre that characters interwoven into the narrative and
sometimes accompanies by dancing. The songs in the movie usually emphasis the plot and
develop the film’s characters. There are so many types of musical film such as Frozen,
August Rush, Mamma Mia and so on so forth. Among all of this film, recently the most
famous musical film in December 2013 is Frozen. Well now I am about to compare the
similarities of two of my favourite animated musical film Frozen and Tangled, both
production Walt Disney Animation Studios. Among this two film, make me feel motivation
and happy.
To start off, Frozen and Tangled both of the film have the similarities throughout the
stories. From the personality of the protagonists. Elsa, from the movie Frozen is a very
introvert person; she hides herself in her room. Is because that she have been born with the
magical abilities to create and manipulate ice and snow. Throughout the film, she struggles
with controlling and concealing her abilities and then with liberating herself from her fears of
unintentionally harming others, particularly her younger sister. (IMDb DeAlan Wilson, 2013)
Rapunzel, from the movie Tangled is a very generally positive, critic with complimenting her
spirited, lively personality and independence. She always wishes that she can run out from
the high tower to have a look at the outside world.
Though initially, both Frozen and Tangled are two different stories lines but they have
the similar plot. The two movies protagonists in the film have magic power when they were
born. Elsa is the snow queen as she has the ability to create and manipulate ice and snow. She
is neutral in the fairy-tale and villain in numerous adaptations of the character, proved
difficult to adapt to film due to her transparent depiction. As for Rapunzel, she has her unique
hair’s healing abilities to remain youthful for several years are because when she was small
the flower is used by Rapunzel’s mother to retain her youth. So now Rapunzel has the
abilities to restore people youth. The song “Healing Incantation” is the key of the healing

3. process. Rapunzel need to sing this song when she is restoring people injury or decay. (IMDb
Claudio Carvalho, 2010)
The next difference in these two stories is that both Frozen and Tangled parents are no
longer besides Elsa and Rapunzel. As in like in the movie Frozen Elsa’s parents die in a
shipwreck during a big storm when she was a teenager. After that Elsa come to the age, the
kingdom prepare for her coronation. The sound track “For the first time in forever” feature in
the film Frozen. The music and lyrics is composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert
Lopez and the song is sung by Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel. The song show Anna’s
happiness and naive optimism when preparing for her sister's coronation. In the opposite, Elsa
expresses her fear of accidentally revealing her ice powers. The movie Tangled Rapunzel is
abducted as an infant and raised by a vain woman named Mother Gothel. Rapunzel was
locked by Gothel in a secluded tower for eighteen year, where Rapunzel is unaware of her
true identity. Gothel abducted her because she has the golden flower power to restore her
youth (IMDb Claudio Carvalho, 2010).
On the other hand, in the two movies Elsa and Rapunzel did different decision of facing
their problem. Elsa chooses to run away when she flees the castle, while inadvertently
unleashing an eternal winter on the kingdom. But Rapunzel is very cheerful and curious, she
want to go outside to have a look at the lanterns on her birthday. She is very curious about the
outside of the tower. In the opposite, Elsa use her power to build herself a solitary ice palace
near a high mountains, and she hide herself away from the kingdom and the villager. Elsa
unknowingly brings her and Anna's childhood snowman, Olaf to life. (IMDb DeAlan Wilson,
2013) In the movies Flynn escort her to see the lanterns in exchange the crown. Flynn takes
her to the palace to see the lantern on her birthday.

4. To wrap thing up, two of the movies do gives out positive moral value: In these two
movies two of the main characters sacrifice their power to exchange happiness from their
families. Other than that, loves take times and built upon sacrifice and caring. As the two
couple in both movies they grow upon with plot developments, they reveal their true colours,
and understanding of loves becomes much deeper. Both of these stories referred to the fairy
tale of nice and beautiful young lady, ended up living happily ever after.
