It’s not hard to be overwhelmed by the wealth of content available today. Every day, we create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data 1. That’s equivalent to 10 million compact discs that when stacked, would equal the height of 4 Eiffel towers 2. But the explosion of both content and digital technology hasn’t actually increased productivity. In fact, content searches cost companies over $14,000 per worker and nearly 500 hours per worker every year 3.
So how can you break through the noise? The most successful CLOs have begun harnessing the power of all learning experiences through curation, and more importantly, context. Curation and context powers learning in a variety of ways that can help you and your learners make sense of the plethora of information and reduce barriers to creating a culture of continuous learning.

In Part 1 of our Hero’s Journey, you learned how today’s organisations are preparing for the digital future...by choosing technologies, mapping change, and getting their teams ready. In Part 2, you rode shotgun as our hero hit the road - forging alliances and partnerships with interested parties along the way.
Now it’s time for the third act.
As with the conclusion of any great story, ours concludes with our hero reaching his goals and returning home - changed. Not to continue his or her old life...but to start a new one.
Because, the journey to the digital workplace isn’t a voyage of geography, it’s a voyage of transformation and adoption. And it’s a journey that has more in common with the Greek myths than your daily commute.
Your digital transformation is a narrative of big ideas, strategic planning, and decisive actions that will bring real change. And just as the classical stories gave rise to new organising principles - collaboration across cultures, shared stakes in a joint enterprise, democratic decision making - the improvements of digital transformation are more than incremental. They’re a paradigm shift.
To learn how it’s done, let’s embark on the last leg of our hero’s journey… and learn not just the way digital technology transforms our workplaces and drives user adoption, but how we can make the best of those transformations and maximise on this adoption.
Benefitting business – applying the librarian’s skillset 3 april01LAICDG
Presentation by Sarah Lyons, Digital Librarian at Novartis, for the Information Skills for the Future event, organised by the Career Development Group of the Library Association of Ireland on April 2nd 2015
Explores the need to think beyond how technology affects work practice, and look at the recursive interdependencies between technology and organisational structure, organisational culture, and business model. Presented at the Intranets 2015 Conference in Sydney in May 2015, hosted by Step Two.
The first in a series of 3 guidebooks outlining how to start your journey towards a digital workplace.
All stories have a beginning, a middle, and an end. And it’s no different for business stories, like your journey towards the digital workplace and its epic conclusion of connected collaboration for all.
The digital workplace means more than “going digital”. It’s a complete transformation of how your organisation interacts... both internally and with the outside world. It’s about faster, better, information flows which lead to quicker, more informed decision making.
A recent Bersin survey pointed out that just 28 percent of organizations have “good” or “very good” levels of proficiency in basic data literacy skills. And that makes sense, because it often feels like you need a statistics degree to understand HR analytics. But the truth is, you don’t need a degree. You just need to know what to look for and how to turn that into meaningful conclusions. Degreed and Watershed are here to help.Join us for Data Fluency for Dummies.

Learning Portals – User Centric Gateway to Learning & KnowledgeLearningCafe
In the age of information glut, Learning Portals can provide Learners a way through the chaos to Learning and Knowledge that is useful and easier to access. However success stories are few and far between due to technology and design challenges. In many organisations the LMS is viewed as a Learning portal but not the one that provides the flexibility and user experience required.
With the Learning ecosystem becoming more complex and connected, Learner experience expectations are rising with an increase in the need to reduce costs.
Is it possible to implement a Learning portal that meets these requirements? We discuss with an experienced panel about the state of Learning portals and which way is it heading.
Date & Time : Thu, 29th June 2017, 12 – 1 pm Sydney Time
We Discuss
Should Learning Portals be the gateway for all learning and knowledge in the organisation?
What is user experience expected from a Learning Portal?
What are the benefits and drawbacks of using the LMS as a Learning Portal?
Can a Learning Portal be developed in the face of IT and policy restrictions?

The success of implementing technology and dealing business changes across the enterprise has never been more critical to a company’s market relevance, financial growth and employee productivity. As companies grow in either size, service and product offerings or complexity, the increased demand to deliver consistent high quality support becomes more and more challenging. Knowledge Management (KM) has the power to transform the way services are delivered and experienced by both the valued customer and the productive employee as business is conducted on a daily basis. Organizations continuing to struggle with measuring sustainable business benefits from implementing technology and business change will benefit greatly from the industry lessons learned from successful KM implementations. Peter McGarahan, a support industry analyst and expert, will share his experiences and thought leadership on successfully implementing KM to support and enable technology and business change across the enterprise. Peter will provide lessons learned and recommended practices from his Service Delivery and Knowledge Management (KM) consulting experience that will change your perspective on how to do Knowledge right! Attendees will gain valuable insights into the following aspects of the topic:
• How Service leaders can best position and leverage knowledge for any technology and business change
• How to best approach planning for your next enterprise technology and business rollout with the end-result in mind
• Assessing your organizational maturity, identifying and addressing the gaps in performance to deliver a consistently better customer experience for customers and employees
• Introducing Knowledge-Centered Support (KCS) best practices into your service and support environment to address resolving issues, answering questions and fulfilling requests
The business model is changing: transformed by technological advancement and fuelled by global competition. As the capabilities of digital technology have increased their influence has extended to reach every facet of operations. Expectations have also shifted, driven by the consumerisation of IT and changing customer demand; people expect a simplistic and rewarding user journey, delivered as a seamless cross-platform experience.

Presentation by Cédric Charlier (Elia) at the Data Vault Modelling and Data G...Patrick Van Renterghem
Cédric Charlier explains how Belgium’s transmission system operator Elia shifted to a new paradigm by updating the definition of Data Steward. Key messages:
* Focus on data consumption not data production for Data Governance and Data Quality
* Data Stewardship is facilitation, not deep knowledge
* Data Stewardship can be based on a network of knowledge and not on a "one-single-expert" model
Presentation by Bart Gielen (DataSense) at the Data Vault Modelling and Data ...Patrick Van Renterghem
DataSense is, together with the internal team, implementing a new Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) at Bank Degroof Petercam. The goal of the EDW is to integrate and historicize all changes of data of the Belgian and Luxembourg entities in the medium term and also those of the for the other entities in the long term. All of this complying with and respecting regulations (legal reporting) and service obligations (tax certificates, reports, taxes on funds, return on portfolio, ...). The implementation is done according to the principles of Data Vault 2.0 and automation of the RAW Data Vault layer. For this purpose they use Talend (Enterprise Open Source data integration platform), Vaultspeed (Data Vault Automation) and Oracle (db platform).

Implicitly or explicitly all competing businesses employ a strategy to select a mix
of marketing resources. Formulating such competitive strategies fundamentally
involves recognizing relationships between elements of the marketing mix (e.g.,
price and product quality), as well as assessing competitive and market conditions
(i.e., industry structure in the language of economics).

Unveiling the Secrets How Does Generative AI Work.pdfSam H
At its core, generative artificial intelligence relies on the concept of generative models, which serve as engines that churn out entirely new data resembling their training data. It is like a sculptor who has studied so many forms found in nature and then uses this knowledge to create sculptures from his imagination that have never been seen before anywhere else. If taken to cyberspace, gans work almost the same way.
