This document outlines a research project to investigate why students dislike English class and identify strategies to motivate them. The project will survey teenagers aged 13-14 at a high school to determine major causes of lack of motivation, compare to strategies used successfully by other teachers, and choose one strategy to apply in a lesson plan to engage students in the English learning process. The document reviews literature on motivation, including psychological factors like setting short-term objectives and using appealing, realistic materials.
