In recent years, the increasing traffic demand in radio access networks has led to significant growth in the number of base stations and energy consumption. This paper proposes forming virtual base stations in an optical-access-enabled Cloud-RAN to improve energy efficiency. A virtual base station is dynamically formed for each cell by assigning virtualized fronthaul links and baseband processing resources. An integer linear program is used to optimize the virtual base station formation. Simulation results show that the proposed virtual base station formation approach achieves significant energy savings compared to traditional radio access networks and Cloud-RAN without virtualization.

Performance Analysis of Enhanced Opportunistic Minimum Cost Routingin Mobile ...IJERA Editor
Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) is a collection of wireless mobile nodes forming a temporary network with
infrastructure less environment to establish a data transmission between nodes within the network. A routing
protocol is used to discover routes between nodes. In this paper, we study the three existing routing protocols
namely AODV, DSDV and DSR to analyze theirperformance based on set of parameters.AODV and DSR
deliver almost all the packets compared to DSDV. Hence we try to modify the AODVprotocol and use in the
cooperative transmission.
In this paper, we study the cooperative transmission at the network layer and cooperative diversity at the
physical layer as a joint optimization of the transmission power in a Mobile Ad-Hoc Network (MANET) with
static channel. However due to variable wireless channels static routing is suboptimal. Proposed protocol
proactively selects forwarding nodes that work cooperatively forwarding the packet towards the destination.
Cooperative transmission side diversity helps in reducing interference. Diversity can be achieved at the physical
layer by coordinating the multiple nodes. Nodes are equipped with Omni-directional antenna and take the
advantages of transmission side diversity to achieve energy saving, under the assumption that channel gains are
available at the transmitters.
The proposed Opportunistic Minimum Cost Cooperative Transmission Shortest Path (OMCTSP) algorithms
select the best optimum route with minimum cost in terms of energy, number of hops, available bandwidth, link
quality (SNR) and outage probability. As the network becomes larger, finding optimal routes becomes
computationally intractable as the complexity of the dynamic programming (DP) approach increases as o (22n)
where n is the number of nodes in the networks. Hence we develop two suboptimal algorithms have complexity
of o (n2) perform as same as optimal algorithm. Also developthe Opportunistic Cooperative Routing in MANET
(O_CORMAN), which is a network layer opportunistic routing scheme for mobile ad hoc networks. Nodes in
the network use the components proactive routing protocol, forwarder list update and local re-transmission. We
evaluate the performance using NS 2.32 simulator there is significant performance improvement with respect to
energy, throughput packet delivery, and delay compared with Modified AODV (OMCTSP).

We make use of the existence of cell-disjoint paths in the 3D grid topology to design a new highly reliable adaptive geographic routing protocol called Grid-based Adaptive Routing Protocol (GARP) for Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks. In GARP, the underwater environment is viewed as a virtual 3D grid of cells. A packet is forwarded following a pre-constructed routing path from a node in a grid cell to a node in a neighbouring grid cell repeatedly until the destination sink node is reached. When a selected routing path becomes unavailable, GARP adapts to the condition by switching to an alternative path making use of the existing cell-disjoint paths. Since the protocol uses pre-constructed routing paths, it avoids path establishment and path maintenance overheads. Analytical performance evaluation results for GARP are obtained showing its high reliability. In tested cases, the delivery ratio has approached 100% when the network density has reached a minimum number of sensor nodes per grid cell.

RIVERBED-BASED NETWORK MODELING FOR MULTI-BEAM CONCURRENT TRANSMISSIONSijwmn
The paper presents a Riverbed simulator implementation with both routing and medium access control (MAC) protocols for mobile ad-hoc network wireless networks with multi-beam smart antennas (MBSAs). As one of the latest promising antenna techniques, MBSAs can achieve concurrent transmissions /
receptions in multiple directions/beams. Thus it can significantly improve the network throughput. However, so far there is still no accurate network simulator that can measure the MBSA-based
routing/MAC protocol performance. In this paper, we describe the simulation models with the implementation of MBSA antenna model in physical layer, MAC layer, and routing layer protocols, all in Riverbed Modeler. We will compare two routing scenarios, i.e., multi-hop diamond routing scenario and multi-path pipe routing. We will analyze the network performance for those two scenarios and illustrate the advantages of using MBSAs in wireless networks.

A Novel Timer-Based Hybrid Rerouting Algorithm for Improving Resource Utiliza...IJERA Editor
In this paper we investigate hybrid rerouting and minimization of incurred service disruption period due to
rerouting in Wavelength Division Multiplexed (WDM) transparent optical network. One limitation of such a
network is the wavelength continuity constraint which does not allow a circuit to be placed on a non
wavelength-continuous route. The impact of this constraint might have a severe consequence on the
performance of transparent optical networks especially in terms of rejection ratio ant it is especially severe when
traffic demands are unpredictable and characterized by random arrivals and departures. To alleviate the impact
of these constraints, either wavelength conversion or traffic rerouting can be used. Since, in the foreseeable
future, wavelength conversion is expected to remain an expensive technology, traffic rerouting is an attractive
alternative solution. Thus, we here propose to employ hybrid rerouting to improve the network performances.
Hybrid rerouting combines passive and active rerouting. Through simulation results, the performances of the
proposed algorithm in terms of rejection ratio are demonstrated to be promising while rerouting a small number
of already established lightpaths using Lightpath ReRouting (LRR). By rerouting a small number of existing
lightpaths using LRR, we hope that the incurred service disruption period due to rerouting is minimized.

DESIGN OF ENERGY EFFICIENT ROUTING ALGORITHM FOR WIRELESS SENSOR NETWORK (WSN...cscpconf
Development of energy efficient Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) routing protocol is nowadays main area of interest amongst researchers. This research is an effort in designing energy efficient Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) routing protocol under certain parameters consideration. Research report discusses various existing WSN routing protocols and propose a new WSN energy efficient routing protocol. Results show a significant improvement in life cycle of the nodes and enhancement in energy efficiency of WSN. In this paper, an attempt has been made to design a wireless sensor network involving the extraction of Pascal Graph features. The standard task involves designing a suitable topology using Pascal Graph. As per the definition of interconnection network it is equivalent that a suitable graph can represent the different computer network topologies very efficiently. Different characteristics of Pascal Graph Topology has been discovered and used in network topology design. Since Pascal Graph gives
better result in terms of finding the dependable and reliable nodes in topology, it has been considered for network analysis. Moreover, we propose a methodology that involves the Pascal
Graph Topology for wireless sensor network which can analyse and represent the network and help in routing.

Optimizing the placement of cloud data center in virtualized environmentIJECEIAES
In cloud mobile networks, precise assessment for the position of the virtualization powered cloud center would improve the capacity limit, latency and energy efficiency (EEf). This paper utilized the Monte Carlo oriented particle swarm optimization (PSO) and genetic algorithm (GA) to first, obtain the optimal number of virtual machines (VMs) that maximize the EEf of the mobile cloud center, second, optimize the position of the mobile data center. To fulfil such examination, a power evaluation framework is proposed to shape the power utilization of a virtualized server while hosting an amount of VMs. In addition, the total power consumption of the network is examined, including data center and radio units (RUs). This evaluation is based on linear modelling of the network parameters, such as resource blocks, number of VMs, transmitted and received powers, and overhead power consumption. Finally, the EEf is constrained to many quality of service (QoS) metrics, including number of resource blocks, total latency and minimum user's data rate.
Improved aodv based on energy strength and dropping ratioIJLT EMAS
Wireless Sensor Networks are the latest trends in the
market due to the demand for communication and networking
among the wireless network devices. The routing protocols are
used in the Wireless Sensor Networks for efficient
communication of data between sensor nodes. The designs of
routing protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks are very concern
because they are influenced by many challenging factors. To
design the networks, the factors needed to be considered are the
coverage area, mobility, energy power consumption,
communication capabilities etc.. Broadcasting is an inevitable
operation in the route discovery phase of AODV protocol. A
probability based AODV is proposed, it uses nodes remaining
energy and threshold random delay to generate the
rebroadcasting of route request packet. The route request packet
of AODV is modified to gather nodes remaining energy strength.
The performance of probability based AODV is compared with
AODV over packet delivery fraction, normalized routing
overhead, delay and average acquisition latency.
NS-2 based simulator is used to evaluate the performance of
routing protocol.
Lightweight route adjustment strategy for mobile sink wireless sensor networksnooriasukmaningtyas
As a result of numerous applications and low installation costs, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) have expanded excessively. The main concern in the WSN environment is to lower energy consumption amidst nodes while preserving an acceptable level of service quality. Using multi-mobile sinks to reduce the nodes' energy consumption have been considered as an efficient strategy. In such networks, the dynamic network topology created by the sinks mobility makes it a challenging task to deliver the data to the sinks. Thus, in order to provide efficient data dissemination, the sensor nodes will have to readjust the routes to the current position of the mobile sinks. The route re-adjustment process could result in a significant maximization in the communication cost, which boosts the total energy depletion. This paper proposes a lightweight routes re-adjustment strategy for mobile sink wireless sensor networks (LRAS-MS) aimed at minimizing communication cost and energy consumption by reducing route re-adjustment in a cluster-based WSN environment. The simulation results show a significant reduction in communication costs and extending the network lifetime while maintaining comparable low data delivery delay.

Courier management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
It is now-a-days very important for the people to send or receive articles like imported furniture, electronic items, gifts, business goods and the like. People depend vastly on different transport systems which mostly use the manual way of receiving and delivering the articles. There is no way to track the articles till they are received and there is no way to let the customer know what happened in transit, once he booked some articles. In such a situation, we need a system which completely computerizes the cargo activities including time to time tracking of the articles sent. This need is fulfilled by Courier Management System software which is online software for the cargo management people that enables them to receive the goods from a source and send them to a required destination and track their status from time to time.

Energy efficient virtual base station formation in optical-access-enabled cloud-ran
1. Energy-Efficient Virtual Base Station Formation in Optical-Access-Enabled
Cloud-RAN
Abstract:
In recent years, the increasing traffic demand in radio access networks (RANs) has
led to considerable growth in the number of base stations (BSs), posing a serious
scalability issue, including the energy consumption of BSs. Optical-access-
enabled Cloud-RAN (CRAN) has been recently proposed as a next-generation
access network. In CRAN, the digital unit (DU) of a conventional cell site is
separated from the radio unit (RU) and moved to the “cloud” (DU cloud) for
centralized signal processing and management. Each DU/RU pair exchanges
bandwidth-intensive digitized baseband signals through an optical access network
(fronthaul). Time-wavelength division multiplexing (TWDM) passive optical
network (PON) is a promising fronthaul solution due to its low energy
consumption and high capacity. In this paper, we propose and leverage the
concept of a virtual base station (VBS), which is dynamically formed for each cell
by assigning virtualized network resources, i.e., a virtualized fronthaul link
connecting the DU and RU, and virtualized functional entities performing
baseband processing in DUcloud. We formulate and solve the VBS formation
(VF) optimization problem using an integer linear program (ILP). We propose
novel energy-saving schemes exploiting VF for both the network planning stage
and traffic engineering stage. Extensive simulations show that CRAN with our
proposed VF schemes achieves significant energy savings compared to traditional
RAN and CRAN without VF.
