Glaciers are melting, sea levels are rising, and forests and wildlife are struggling to adapt to rising temperatures caused by human-induced climate change. The rapid increase in greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide is problematic because the climate is changing so quickly that some species cannot adapt fast enough. Historically, the Earth's climate has oscillated between temperatures like today and much colder periods where large ice sheets covered North America and Europe. According to NASA, most global warming has occurred in the last 35 years, coinciding with increased greenhouse gas emissions by humans.
