The things that people do such as leaving trash in the beaches/oceans and oil spills in the ocean waters result in ocean pollution. This badly affects the living environment of marine species and contaminates the water supply.
The future can be great for our community, for our province, for the energy industry, for you and me and our children. However, it will require us to embrace positive change and to start the transition now. We can create an Alberta that is a renewable energy powerhouse by energy companies utilizing land and infrastructure they already use to generate renewable energy as well as using fuel cell technology to produce much cleaner energy from hydrocarbons during the transition period. And we can become the supplier of choice for clean and green hydrocarbon products, with extraction, processing and use of final products without emissions, pollution, fresh water and use of harmful chemicals. Why won't we start now? We can do it together!

Salinity is the saltiness or dissolved salt content of a body of water. It has been traditional to express salinity not as percent(%), but as parts per thousand(‰). i hope you will like it.
Soil is the mixture of minerals, organic matter, gases, liquids, and myriad organisms that together support plant life. Two general classes are topsoil and subsoil. Soil is a natural body that exists as part of the pedosphere and which performs four important functions: it is a medium for plant growth; it is a means of water storage, supply and purification; it is a modifier of the atmosphere of Earth; and it is a habitat for organisms all of which modify the soil. Soil is considered to be the "skin of the earth" with interfaces between the lithosphere, hydrosphere, atmosphere of Earth, and biosphere.[2] Soil consists of a solid phase (minerals and organic matter) as well as a porous phase that holds gases and water.[3][4][5] Accordingly, soils are often treated as a three-state system.[6]
This is a great and modified presentation on the topic of life processes.Biology is the science that deals with living things. Sometimes it is necessary to make a difference between organisms that are alive, and other things that are not alive. This might not be as easy as it seems, but in general:
1.Living things react to stimuli.
2.Living things interact with their environment, which includes members of the same and other species.
3.Living things have a metabolism: they take in food which they convert to the energy they need.
4.Living things reproduce: they give birth to others of the same species. This is not true of all individual organisms. In eusocial organisms, some castes cannot reproduce. But, since the sterile workers are all the produce of a single queen, they are one collective.
Many things that appear to be one organism are in fact several living together. An example is lichen. Lichen is a symbiosis between a blue-green alga and a fungus. Organisms that live together may not reproduce together, but their life processes are bound up together. They help each other to live

"Understanding the Carbon Cycle: Processes, Human Impacts, and Strategies for...MMariSelvam4
The carbon cycle is a critical component of Earth's environmental system, governing the movement and transformation of carbon through various reservoirs, including the atmosphere, oceans, soil, and living organisms. This complex cycle involves several key processes such as photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition, and carbon sequestration, each contributing to the regulation of carbon levels on the planet.
Human activities, particularly fossil fuel combustion and deforestation, have significantly altered the natural carbon cycle, leading to increased atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations and driving climate change. Understanding the intricacies of the carbon cycle is essential for assessing the impacts of these changes and developing effective mitigation strategies.
By studying the carbon cycle, scientists can identify carbon sources and sinks, measure carbon fluxes, and predict future trends. This knowledge is crucial for crafting policies aimed at reducing carbon emissions, enhancing carbon storage, and promoting sustainable practices. The carbon cycle's interplay with climate systems, ecosystems, and human activities underscores its importance in maintaining a stable and healthy planet.
In-depth exploration of the carbon cycle reveals the delicate balance required to sustain life and the urgent need to address anthropogenic influences. Through research, education, and policy, we can work towards restoring equilibrium in the carbon cycle and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
Characterization and the Kinetics of drying at the drying oven and with micro...Open Access Research Paper
The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

UNDERSTANDING WHAT GREEN WASHING IS!.pdfJulietMogola
Many companies today use green washing to lure the public into thinking they are conserving the environment but in real sense they are doing more harm. There have been such several cases from very big companies here in Kenya and also globally. This ranges from various sectors from manufacturing and goes to consumer products. Educating people on greenwashing will enable people to make better choices based on their analysis and not on what they see on marketing sites.

1. Global warming is the
warming of the earth
through carbon dioxide
(CO2) being pumped
into the atmosphere from
tailpipes and
smokestacks. Then the
gases trap heat like the
glass in a greenhouse.
This is where the term
the “greenhouse effect”
came from.
2. Scientists say that the
barrier insulating the
continental ice caps is
melting.
“The impacts of
warming temperatures
in Antarctica are likely
to occur first in the
northern sections of the
continent, where
summer temperatures
approach the melting
point of water, 32
degrees F (0 degrees
C).”
3. As the ice melts, big chunks
of glaciers will break off and
become like ice cubes in a big
glass of water. The ice
chunks, known as icebergs,
create mass in the ocean. The
icebergs displace the water
causing the ocean level to
rise. Some of the shoreline in
many places like Florida
(where the land is at a low
altitude) will go under water.
4. “Rising global temperatures
are expected to raise sea level,
and change precipitation and
other local climate conditions.
Changing regional climate
could alter forests, crop yields,
and water supplies. It could
also affect human health,
animals, and many types of
ecosystems. Deserts may
expand into existing
rangelands, and features of
some of our national parks
may be permanently altered.”
6. The yellow represents warming, melting glaciers, flooding and rising of sea level.
The red represents the spread of disease, earlier springs, plant and animal shifts
and population changes, coral reef bleaching, downpours, heavy snowfalls,
and flooding, droughts and fires.
7. The reason the temperature has risen
so much in the past 150 years is
because of how much more we have
used fossil fuels, which gives off
carbon dioxide. “According to
NOAA, the global warming
rate in the last 25 years has
risen to 3.6 degrees F per
century, which tends to
confirm the predictions of
temperature increases made
by international panels of
climate scientists (IPCC).”
8. The earth has had
highs and lows,
droughts and
floods, but nothing
has been like the
past 150 years.
9. “Coral reef bleaching, the whitening of diverse
invertebrate taxa, results from the loss of
symbiotic zooxantheallae and/or a reduction in
photosynthetic pigment concentrations in
zooxanthellae residing within scleractinian
corals. Coral reef bleaching is caused by
various anthropogenic and natural variations in
the reef environment including sea
temperature, solar irradiance, sedimentation,
xenobiotics, subaerial exposure, inorganic
nutrients, freshwater dilution, and epizootics.
Coral bleaching events have been increasing in
both frequency and extent worldwide in the
past 20 years. Global climate change may play
a role in the increase in coral bleaching events,
and could cause the destruction of major reef
tracts and the extinction of many coral
species.”
10. “Penguin population
decline. Adelie penguin
populations have shrunk
by 33 percent during
the past 25 years in
response to declines in
their winter sea ice
habitat.”

and medicine program,

personal
communication.
11. Regions where major coral reef bleaching events have taken
place during the past 15 years
Yellow spots indicate major bleaching events.
12. Global warming is affecting plants, animals, humans and the
earth. We need to learn how to conserve our use of fossil
fuels to minimize carbon dioxide production. This will slow
down the effects of global warming.
