The Ice Age was a great glaciation that occurred on
Earth 100,000 years ago. During this time the global
temperature of the Earth decreased, ice caps and glaciers
expanded and transformed ecosystems.
This natural disaster resulted in the coming to life in
other species of animals that are now extintc. Most of these
animals were very big and they fed our ancestors, which
caused their own extinction.
These low temperatures were due to the orbit of the
Earth with the sun, so the sun couldn't warm uniformly.
10,000 years ago, the sun began to warm the earth's
crust, creating greenhouse gases which produced global
warming. This ended with the Ice Age, giving way to a new
age that would allow the human species to develope.
