Essay about Global Warming
Pollution in our world is leading to increased global warming. Global warming is a problem that if
it doesn't effect us, it will effect all future generations. Global Warming is a problem that all of us
can solve, and it should be solved through the work of our community. Global Warming is caused by
the Greenhouse Effect. The Greenhouse effect causes the sun's rays to come in the earth's
atmosphere, and when it bounces back, more and more of the sun's rays stay in the Earth, heating up
the average global temperature. Greenhouse gasses cause the addition of the Greenhouse Effect.
Greenhouse Gasses cause an increase in the Greenhouse Effect. Greenhouse Gasses are created
whenever a fossil fuel is burned. It is not the...show more content...
Arrhenius understood that the earth's climate is heated by a process known as the greenhouse
effect. While close to half the solar radiation reaching the earth's surface is reflected back into
space, the remainder is absorbed by land masses and oceans, warming the earth's surface and
atmosphere. This warming process radiates energy, most of which passes through the atmosphere
and back into space. However, small concentrations of greenhouse gases like water vapor and carbon
dioxide convert some of this energy to heat and either absorb it or reflect it back to the earth's
surface. These heat–trapping gases work much like a greenhouse: Sunlight passes through, but a
certain amount of radiated heat remains trapped.
The greenhouse effect plays an essential role in preventing the planet from entering a perpetual ice
age: Remove the greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and the earth's temperature would plummet
by around 60 degrees Fahrenheit (F). However, scientists who have elaborated on Arrhenius's theory
of global warming are concernced that increasing concentrations of greenhouse gases in the
atmosphere are causing an unprecedented rise in global temperatures, with potentially harmful
consequences for the environment and human health.
In 1988, the United Nations Environment Program and the World Meteorological Organization
established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate

Global Warming Essay
Global warming is the process in which the Earth's temperature starts increasing. This happens
because industry, fossil fuels, agricultural processes caused by human, natural, and other gas
emissions, this factors increase greenhouse gases, greenhouse gases are made up of carbon dioxide,
methane and nitrous oxide. The greenhouse gases stay in the atmosphere and prevent the suns
warming rays to leave the Earth. So the sun's warming rays stay inside the Earth increasing its
average temperature. Global warming isn't the end of the world, it's just a natural process in which
the Earth cleans or rinse organisms.
Now a days the Automobiles, heat from homes and businesses, and factories are responsible for
about 80% of today's carbon dioxide...show more content...
Lastly many bodies of water become polluted thanks to all the gasses in the atmosphere that mix
with the clouds and fall as acid rain polluting rivers, and lakes and killing many animals. All of
theses factors change our daily life and can ruin whole species, and all of this is because of
temperature changes.
Many scientific methods of controlling or lowering the Earth's temperature are being researched;
these can also be called geoengineering. Geoengineering is a method in which scientists can
change the levels of greenhouse gases directly or indirectly. Also there could be methods that
prevent greenhouse gasses to be emitted. There have never been any geoengineering solutions
done on a global scale since it has to be almost proof less. But there have been some ideas that are
being use on a small scale like the iron fertilization; this is a process in which iron is injected into
the oceans to speed up the reproduction of plankton which breath carbon dioxide and emit oxygen,
this is one solution that seems to have the least side effects thanks to the reason I just presented
and also due to that plankton are the base of many marine animals food chain. So this method is
being widely researched to see if it can be done on a global scale. Not only is lowering the levels of
gases in the air important, but also lowering the level of gases we emit, and there have been many
scientific breakthroughs like solar energy or cars that run

Global Warming
Global Warming is an important ecological issue and has many negative effects upon our
environment. Global Warming, or what has been called the Greenhouse effect, is the result of a
fourfold ecological process. 1–Sunlight radiates from the sun, through space, to Earth's atmosphere.
2– The sunlight enters the atmosphere and hits Earth. Some of it turns into heat energy in the form
of infrared light. The heat gets absorbed by surrounding air and land, which in turn makes it warm.
3– Infrared rays, that are remitted into the atmosphere are trapped by greenhouse gases. 4– The gas
then absorbs the light and is remitted back to the Earth's surface and warms it even more. Left on it's
own this natural process keeps our...show more content...
Activities such as fossil fuel combustion, waste disposal, the use of refrigerators, agricultural and
industrial activities, and the cutting down of forests have all played a significant role in the spread
of these gases.
These, and other human practices, have changed the chemical make up of the atmosphere. Between
pre–industrial times and today, carbon dioxide concentrations have been on the rise. With these
higher levels of gas concentration in our atmosphere the Earth's climate is slowing changing for the
worse. The temperature of the Earth's surface is as warm, if not warmer than it has been in any other
century.
One study, conducted by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) said that unless
governments do something to restrict the emissions of greenhouse gases to a lower level, global
temperatures could rise 1.6 to 5.3 degrees Fahrenheit by the year 2100. This increase is significant,
because it represents the fastest global warming since the end of the last ice age more than 10,000
years ago (Houghton and Griggs).
One result of these warmer temperatures is drought. With the warming of the planet, the water on
the ground would quickly evaporate causing rivers and lakes to dry. This would lead to crops dying
from lack of rain, which would lead to increased food prices and other associated

Global Warming
The climate is changing. The earth is warming up, and there is now overwhelming scientific
consensus that it is happening, and human–induced. With global warming on the increase and
species and their habitats on the decrease, chances for ecosystems to adapt naturally are diminishing.
Many are agreed that climate change may be one of the greatest threats facing the planet. Recent
years show increasing temperatures in various regions, and increasing extremities in weather
patterns. Research has shown that air pollutants from fossil fuel use make clouds reflect more of
the sun's rays back into space. This leads to an effect known as global dimming whereby less heat
and energy reaches the earth. At first, it sounds like...show more content...
We are fortunate that our modern societies have developed during the last 10,000 years of
benignly warm, interglacial climate. But for more than 90 percent of the last two million years,
the climate has been colder, and generally much colder, than today. The reality of the climate
record is that a sudden natural cooling is far more to be feared, and will do infinitely more social
and economic damage, than the late 20th century phase of gentle warming. The single human
activity that is most likely to have a large impact on the climate is the burning of "fossil fuels" such
as coal, oil and gas. These fuels contain carbon. Burning them makes carbon dioxide gas. Since the
early 1800s, when people began burning large amounts of coal and oil, the amount of carbon dioxide
in the earth's atmosphere has increased by nearly 30%, and average global temperature appears to
have risen between 1В° and 2В°F.Carbon dioxide gas traps solar heat in the atmosphere, partly in
the same way as glass traps solar heat in a sunroom or a greenhouse. For this reason, carbon dioxide
is sometimes called a "greenhouse gas." As more carbon dioxide is added to the atmosphere, solar
heat has more trouble getting out. The result is that, if everything else stayed unchanged, the average
temperature of the atmosphere would increase. As people burn more fossil fuel for energy they add
more carbon dioxide to the atmosphere. If this
