 Posee la propiedad de la adhesión que le pegarse a superficies
IMPORTANCIA
El agua es la biomolécula inorgánica más abundante en el planeta cubriendo cerca del 70%
de su superficie, posee propiedades únicas que la fomentan como esencial para la vida, se
encuentra entre el 60 y 90% de la composición total de todos los organismos vivos, en la
naturaleza se presenta en tres estados diferentes debido a factores como la temperatura y
presión en la que puede variar su volumen y forma que interactúan entre si en un ciclo
hidrológico, es un solvente extraordinario y reactivo ideal en varios procesos metabólicos,
componiendo cerca del 80% en las células, favorece a la ionización y la disolución de
sustancias iónicas, de igual manera se le atribuye la cualidad de absorber grandes
cantidades de calor sin tener la necesidad de elevar demasiado su temperatura al poseer una

Reacciona con metales y no metales
Se une en las sales formando hidratos.
Entre las moléculas de agua se establece un tipo de enlace
intermolecular débil: el enlace por puentes de hidrógeno.
gran capacidad calorífica, tiende a expandirse tras ser sometida a temperaturas por debajo
de los 4ºC permitiendo que sobresalga a la superficie al encontrarse en forma de hielo,
posee una alta tensión superficial siendo elástica tendiendo a unirse y separarse.
