The geography was mostly desert, so they used sleds to transport heavy objects. Egyptian society highly valued family and children. They also had a complex social hierarchy topped by the powerful pharaoh. Ancient Egyptians developed an elaborate system of embalming the dead and built grand pyramids, temples, and tombs for pharaohs like Seti I, Ramesses II, and Tutankhamun.
