No nation whether developed or developing countries can rise above the level of its education without giving adequate consideration for its Human and Material resources in terms of curriculum to be used. One of the Basic qualities of a curriculum is dynamism. This implies that a good curriculum is never static rather it changes along with changes in societal needs and aspirations, political and economic factors. For example in Nigeria the educational system has witnessed some changes in Content, Context and Structure (9-3-4 educational systems). Like most of the countries in the world, the changes have come as result of the growing awareness of the need to develop technologically, socially, and economically.

Hybrid learning is a way of combining traditional classroom experiences, experiential learning objectives, and digital course delivery that emphasizes using the best option for each learning objective
The learning teaching process has undergone a paradigm shift in recent years. It has shifted from teacher centred to student centred. Hence, the challenge of a teacher has become as to how to cater to the needs of all types of learners in the classroom when their learning styles vary according to their individual needs. Heutagogy is a technique of self-determined learning with practices and principles rooted from andragogy that could be responsible for the developments in higher education. This technique coupled with e-content is an innovative strategy that provides multi-sensory experience to the learners. The learners can visualize the entire content and attain mastery over the topics. In the present study, the e-content on osmosis was developed and given to the tertiary learners for learning. Pre-test and post-test were administered to the samples to ascertain the effectiveness of heutagogy integration into e-content. The results of the study revealed that e-content with heutagogical approach for learners of higher education were effective.

EFFECTIVENESS OF CO-OPERATIVE LEARNING METHOD IN LEARNING OF MATHEMATICS AMON...Thiyagu K
Co-operative learning is defined as students working together to “attain groups goals that cannot be obtained by working alone or competitively”. The main purpose of co-operative learning is to actively involve students in the learning process, a level of student empowerment which is not possible in a lecture format. The present study found out the effectiveness of co-operative learning in mathematics learning among the eighth standard students of Tirunelveli district. Two equivalent group experimental-designs are employed for this study. The investigator has selected 40 students studying VIII standard in High School, Tirunelveli Educational District. According to the scoring of pre-test, 20 students were chosen as control group and 20 students were chosen as experimental group in a cluster sampling techniques. Finally the investigator concludes that; (a) There was significant difference between control and experimental group students in their gain scores. That is the experimental group student is better than control group students in their gain scores. (b)There was significant difference between control and experimental group students in their gain scores for attainment of the knowledge, understanding, and application objectives.

Exploring Teachers Practices of Classroom Assessment in Secondary Science Cla...Md. Mehadi Rahman
The study investigates teachers’ classroom assessment practices of secondary schools in Bangladesh. The study is mainly quantitative with some integration of qualitative approach. Secondary science teachers and their science classrooms were main data source of the study, which were selected randomly. Data sources were secondary science teachers and their science classrooms. The study used a lesson observation protocol to understand their classroom assessment practice, and pre-lesson and post-lesson observation interview protocols as main sources of data collection. Qualitative data from interview were used to triangulate the quantitative data from observation. A total of thirty teachers (twenty male and ten female) were chosen randomly from six secondary schools in Dhaka. The study explored that teachers’ current practice of classroom assessment was to only assess students learning achievement and they followed traditional methods to assess students. The dominated assessment activity was oral questioning and very few students take part in the assessment activities by answering the questions. The classroom questions are basically focused very specific responses and encouraged rote learning; even students’ didn’t get enough time for thinking and answering the questions. Therefore the study suggests changing current practices by using different assessment strategies like self and peer assessment and focus on assessment for learning to ensure effective teaching-learning and quality education. These findings can inform the classroom teachers as well as o relevant stakeholders in making necessary changes in the present classroom assessment practices in Bangladesh.

An Assessment of Professional Standards exhibited by Teacher Educators in Col...Premier Publishers
Multiple measures capturing different aspects of teacher educators’ performances, including analysis of artefacts, self-report and student survey are being encouraged in teacher evaluation. The current professional standards developed by the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) in Nigeria included the use of students’ observation of some aspects of teacher educators’ practices in their evaluation. In this study, the teacher educators’ performance on some of the professional standards was assessed using students’ ratings. A questionnaire was used to gather the required data. The findings of this study suggest that the students perceived that the teacher educators exhibited the following attributes
i. Foster scientific enquiry within instructional framework.
ii. Create enabling learning environment.
iii. Use formal and informal assessment strategies to evaluate students’ progress.
iv. Demonstrate professional values and practices that support teacher education programme. The findings further suggest that the students did not perceive that the teacher educators employed diverse instructional resources in their classroom. It is concluded on the basis of the findings that students’ ratings/feedback could be considered a valid source of information on some teacher educators’ performances, and should be harnessed in the assessment process.

2. Introduction
An advance organizer is a cognitive
instructional strategy used to support
learning and retention of information. It is
the information presented prior to
learning and can be used by the learner to
organize and interpret new incoming
information.
3. Introduction (Contd..)
The most important aim of education is to nurture
and develop capabilities of the learners to the
most desirable level of perfection. The prime
objective of teacher education is to meet the
emerging challenges of the process of
globalization. This led the development of
advance organizer model based mobile
application as an e-pedagogic approach. Advance
organizer model based mobile application was a
computer program designed to run on mobile
devices such as Smartphone and tablet computers
etc. It follows the steps of advance organizer
model of teaching.
4. Introduction (Contd..)
Subject achievement has long been recognized as one
of the important goals of Education. The subject
achievement is a product of factors operating within
and outside the individual. Learning outcomes have
become a major phenomenon of interest to all and for
this reason scholars have been working hard to
untangle hurdles against good learning performance.
Hence an attempt has been made to develop a mobile
application based on the advance organizer model and
to study its effectiveness in terms of subject
achievement of student-teachers. One of the
perspective course entitled ‘psychology of the learner’
was selected as a subject matter.
5. Statement of the problem
“Effectiveness of advance organizer model based
mobile application for Kuvempu University student-
teachers of B.Ed. programme in terms of subject
achievement”
6. Objective of the study
To investigate the effectiveness of advance
organizer model based mobile application on
subject achievement of B.Ed. student-teachers.
7. Hypothesis of the study
1. There is no significant difference between pre-test mean scores
of the experimental group and the control group with
reference to subject achievement.

population ‘simple random sampling technique’ was
followed. There were 18 B.Ed. Colleges affiliated to
Kuvempu University, Shankaraghatta, Shivamogga,
Karnataka, India. Hence, 18 B.Ed. colleges of
Kuvempu University were considered as the total
population. Two B.Ed. colleges, namely ‘Kuvempu
Shathamanotsava Shikshana Mahavidyalaya,
Shivamogga and ‘Al-Mohammed College of
Education, Shivamogga were chosen randomly by
lottery method. Both the colleges were affiliated to
Kuvempu University having the same type of
curriculum, method of teaching, overall academic
environment and evaluation pattern.

13. Conclusion
• Advance organizer model based mobile application an e-
pedagogic approach facilitated meaningful assimilation of
information and ideas among student-teachers of B.Ed.
programme, as reflected in the subject achievement scores of
the experimental group. Findings of this study are in
agreement with the findings of many researches including
David P. Ausubel himself. E-pedagogy like advance organizer
model based mobile application played a significant role in
connecting the new learning material with the relevant
learning material in the cognitive structure of student-
teachers. Ausubel believed in the fact that learning material
learnt in a meaningful way is permanent, whereas learning
material learnt by rote manner is temporary. The results of
this investigation with regard to the objective support the
belief of Ausubel.
14. Conclusion (Contd..)
• Student-teachers of experimental group who received e-
pedagogic approach performed better than those of the
control group on the achievement test. The above discussion
provides interesting implications for the improvement of
classroom teaching-learning in Indian context. Apart from
teaching at the knowledge level, teacher educators should
teach at the understanding, application and higher levels of
cognitive domain. For achieving this objective, steps should
be taken to orient in-service teacher educators as well as the
trainee teachers on the line of advance organizer model based
mobile application approach of teaching. The teacher
education curriculum must incorporate the development of
advance organizer model based mobile applications as a topic
under the models of teaching. Steps may be taken to design
mobile applications on the line of the advance organizer
model.
