 Fact: The purpose of a resume is to get an
interview!
 The recruiter who is interviewing new graduates
knows that these young people don’t have work
experience yet so they won’t be looking for them.
 What they will be looking for are knowledge,
skills, and specialties.
 Specialties and knowledge are defined by course
subjects and academics
 .
 Employers will usually take, at most, only twenty
seconds to look at one-page representation of
yourself before deciding whether to keep or
discard it.
 The 20 second rule To ensure that you will make it
past that initial screening, you should design your
resume in such a way that employers can read the
document easily and process information quickly
 Tell it .
