Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

learning process.
This encompasses the teaching and sharing to the students the knowledge and skills
to become better technology learners. Not only to the students, teachers and aspiring teachers
are taught an updated on the new trends in educational technology so that they may be able

5. Since technology is very powerful, there is an issue emerging regarding on how
to properly and effectively integrate it in the teaching-learning process due to
the very fact that the mere use of computer in the classroom do not necessarily
mean technology is being integrated.

20. ICT Strategies to Support and Enhance
Geoscience Australia’s Scientific
Capability Enhance Geoscience
Australia’s scientific capability through
the use of the best software solutions
available. By preference, we will use
open source and existing “trusted
community codes” for software
development, or leverage existing
scientific software. Where no suitable
software is available we will promote
open collaborative development of new
code with other science agencies and
researchers.
21. To Support and Enhance Geoscience
Australia’s Scientific Capability
• Provide computing support and advice
to: − Facilitate project entry into scientific
computing
Develop and support HPD structures.
Australia ICT
Strategies
22. Ensure ICT strategies are fully aligned
with international best practice and
innovation in the government and industry
spatial sectors.
• Provide enterprise platforms that enable
repeatable, discoverable workflows for the
creation, analysis and delivery of spatial
data.
• Implement or enhance enterprise
platforms to allow spatial data workflows
to be moved to HPC or cloud
environments with a minimum of
redevelopment.
Australia ICT
Strategies
23. In Singapore, the Infocomm and Communication Technology (ICT) sector is a key
enabler for almost every industry sector, and has enhanced Singapore’s competitiveness by
raising productivity and transforming business processes in industries like finance, services
and manufacturing. The ICT sector in Singapore is regulated by the Info-communications
Media Development Authority (IMDA), the country's infocomm industry master-planner
focused on infocomm and media policy and regulation, industry and talent development and
Personal Data Protection Commission.
24. Market entry
It is important to work with local partners or

26. I’ve learned more things in Edtech2 the 21st teachers,
21st students and 1st instruction are different from a
traditional strategies of teaching. Because now a days we
are using a computers, laptops, smart phones and other
technologies in teachings to help the students to be more
competitive, and have a more effective learning process.
Not only for the students but also for the teachers,
educational technology will help them how to be more
effective in teaching using the technology. Through
technologies teaching is more easier and more reliable so
that the learning will e continuously.
Reflection
27. Just like other countries like, Hongkong, Singapore, Malaysia
and etc. their teaching is more effective because they used an
educational technology when they teach. Their students are more
competitive in terms of using technology they more skillful compare to
our students here in Philippines.
And also I've learned that educational technology is not just
only talks about power-point presentation but it also focuses it
functions in teaching. it is important to use technology when we teach
because I helps our students to focus on their lesson while teachers is
discussing the lesson, and through technologies the learning- process
is more effective.
